do you ever think about how zoro doesnt have his own dedicated arc? how he is introduced in the same arc as luffy, the main character? how luffy, upon hearing his name, seeks him out and finds him, zoro, someone who is known for being constantly lost? how he decides that now that he has zoro, the rest of the crew will join as they go, it will happen naturally, that everything will be fine as long as he has zoro? how he wasnt a captain until zoro wasnt his crew man, his first mate, his? and at the same time, zoros story's stagnant, doesnt pick up, doesnt progress, how it almost ends before it could really begin if it wasnt for luffy? how theres no conflict in him joining, no internal fight- just pure acceptance, the matter-of-factly belief and unbelievable devotion within seconds? how their dreams are instantly intertwined, one making the other even more possible together, together?

okay guys i'm ready to talk about it.

okay so. ough. i have a lot of thoughts, but let's start with egg jace not really knowing or having the time to think about gender. but zara sees it in the way he carries himself, the way he blushes when zara calls him pretty, the way he talks about masculinity like the very idea of it makes him uncomfortable. and when zara finally brings it up, pointing out that maybe he doesn't feel like a man, jace shies away and shuts down, but zara can tell it's more out of embarrassment than anything else. so next time, she asks him. what if we try it this way. let you release any hangups you have with it and just let you have fun with it. and jace is still on the fence about it but he agrees to try it out and tells zara that if he hates it he'll never do it again, and zara easily agrees.

and then zara leans in, brushing jace's hair behind his ear, and her next words are laced with magic when she murmurs, "wouldn't you like to be a girl, darling? just let go, don't think, just listen to me and be my pretty girl," and jace's lips part and she nods, suddenly finding that thoughts come a lot harder. but that's okay, isn't it? because she's zara's pretty girl, and all she has to do is listen.

she lets zara dress her up and do her makeup and the whole time she's gushing about how good she feels, how happy she is, and thanking zara for letting her feel like this. and zara smiles and tells her that it's no trouble, she's just glad jace is feeling good--but if she wants to thank her, there are ways she can do that.

jace falls to her knees and licks zara out, moaning when zara threads her fingers through her hair and scratches her scalp with her sharp nails and purrs that she's doing such a good job, that she's zara's perfect girl, and maybe there's an additional Suggestion thrown in there about her sinking further down, being zara's pretty little pet, letting her use jace however she wants and getting more and more brainless every time she comes, and jace takes it all happily. it's so easy for her to just relax, to listen to zara, to let all of her thoughts turn into pretty pink clouds unless she's following an order her mistress gives her <3

So much of writing is just, trusting your voice and moving forward without looking back - realising that you will be stuck in one place if you don't. Sure, at first, that voice in your head isn't always refined, and what comes out isn't what you wanted, and it's beyond frustrating, but the more you move forward, the more you persist, the more you improve. It's like the universe guiding you, step by step, hand by hand, until you can grasp its hand tighter and start sprinting towards your goal, and when you reach it, when you look back to rejoice the milestone - the victory - the confidence -

You realise that the universe's face looks awfully like your own.

So much of writing is trusting yourself, finding worth in yourself that feels painful and useless on many days when you're just toiling away, wondering why you are even doing this. But the dirt on your palms and the callouses on your fingertips is a testament to that persistent, continuous effort to love yourself and in that cycle you realise that you've always been worth this amount of effort, trust and love. The physical proof is right there, staring back at you.

I think it's beautiful, honestly.

he's not doing it thinking "okay I'm going to manipulate them" but he is trying to get them to reassure him that he isn't manipulative by using words and a panicked tone of voice that makes them want to look after him? Like, he's doing it purposefully, but he's not consciously thinking "okay I'm going to manipulate them into telling me I'm not manipulative," if that makes sense?

he hates being called manipulative so obviously he is genuinely upset, but he's still being manipulative to get his friends to reassure him?

Summary of the bmc apocalypse roleplays I did back in the day

Attempt 1- Jake's hero complex leads him to commit the crimes of harbouring a criminal, multiple threats of murder, and child endangerment often interrupted by bouts of major depression while babysitting

Attempt 2- Jake's hero complex leads him to leading a horde of zombies away from his community after promising to never abandon his friends again and gets lost on his way home

Attempt 3- Jake doesn't suffer from that much of a hero complex but does find himself getting kidnapped and escaping and getting lost. Then proceeds to get told off by Jeremy because he (Jake) wouldn't stay in the infirmary

Attempt 4- Jake's hero complex leads him to blaming himself for the destruction of the community he was leading (with the assistance of the Squip squad) because he wasn't there to protect them from being raided because he was out looking for supplies

you know when people have an instinctive knowledge about something but they don't have the vocabulary to explain what they know because they've never been taught it? gender and me right now are at a bit of a standstill. this isn't a isolated incident I'm experiencing I know other people have been here before too but anyone (even those vastly more educated in this realm than I) also seem to only have linguistic approximations for themselves as well.
