Pfft. Fancy pants.

They are an aloof but deeply caring individual, who does not show their care through words often, but rather through actions and deeds done in the moment. Without them, it is very likely I would have never had the courage or ability to go through with my various gender affirming surgeries, nor would I actually even be the kind of person I am today.

Dark allowing me back into the fold after what I had done was, in my opinion, the main reason any one else followed suite. If they know it or not, their reactions to most others is what steers most of us towards certain things. I simply wouldn't be who I was- who I am is mostly because of the support and allowance of others to grow past my previous beliefs, and Dark is deeply important to that.

They are indispensable to who I am and how I choose to see the world. Dark story is not mine to tell but I can say with full confidence of a man who has seen what he should not- Dark would have every right to be cruel. They would have every right to be a nasty bitter person, who refuses to ever let someone close to them again. But they are not that. They choose, more often than not, to be kind, even when angered. To lead with patience and understanding first, wherever possible. Something that I too had to learn, and something that they have helped me learn. How much of it was a conscious choice is up in the air, but either way, they modeled that for me.

Despite my ability to see into alternate timelines, I cannot recognize myself in the Hosts that did not have their Darks to help them.

-Doesn't already have a Luo Binghe

I think one of my favorite little details about spike's character is how he treated drusilla. he wasn't just "patient" with her disability, he actively treated it as just another thing about her to love. he verry rarely coddled her or tried to get her to be more present in a situation when she wasn't capable. (I can't think of a single time that he did but i feel like there were some when he was already upset at other people?). he learned to understand what she was saying even when it sounded like nonsense. when she was upset he comforted her, no matter how often it happened. when she started dancing he danced with her.

and we see in buffy 5x20 that it wasn't just his love for dru that made him act like that. when tara was incoherent and opened the window in the van, he didn't just immediately forgive her for burning him, he never got upset in the first place. he yelled, of course, because he was hurt, but as soon as willow started apologizing and trying to explain he just nodded. because it's no biggie! he already understands. some people are just like that, and he doesn't see accommodating that as the big deal that the people around him are making it out to be.

Made this post (also this) about Steve and Robin being suspicious that their new coworker - Eddie - is a spy, and it’d be really funny if he was.

Just not for the US government.

He was off-base when the mall exploded and - he assumed - presumed dead by the Russian government so he just…assimilated? Continued living his secret identity’s life?

Edward Munson is a real person.

He’s a kid living with a foster family in Nebraska. His dad is in prison and he hadn’t seen his uncle since he was three years old. It was an easy identity to steal and an easy story to feed Wayne.

No one looked too hard at it, Eddie was exactly what they thought he’d be.

He was the only spy on base that could do a convincing American accent and looked young enough to pass for a high school student.

He was supposed to be gathering evidence, supposed to get close to the other kid. He was supposed to find the little girl but none of that ever really happened.

And then the base blew up.

Now he’s working a part-time job at the video rental, stocking shelves while his coworkers loudly discuss if he’s a spy. They’re arguing on if the US government would recruit teenagers (no) or raise spies from birth (also no), and then Steve says, “Don’t worry. I’ll figure it out.”

Robin sounds completely done with him, “Having sex with someone does not prove they’re not a spy. Don’t sleep with him!”

“It’s a full-proof plan,” Steve says and then yells, “Hey, Eddie!”

And well…

Eddie was never a good spy anyways.
