every single one of my favorite male characters is someone i have to take a serious look at and ask "is he okay" every once in a while just to make sure he hasn't accidentally disintegrated under the crushing karma of his actions, succumbed to the pain of an irrevocable curse, gone insane through the curse of immortality, or otherwise fallen into one of the angst traps underneath the very thin ice of comfort from the other characters that he's walking on while i was busy reading fanfics about him slipping through the cracks into those very angst traps

I feel like Eddie collects knives after the upside down stuff. It starts as a coping mechanism. When Steve sees them for the first time Eddie panics because he doesn’t want Steve to think he’s crazy (he doesn’t like to think about why he cares so much about Steve’s opinion of him, he knows why but he pretends that he doesn’t). Steve, instead of laughing or telling him he’s insane, just smiles and says he did something similar after the first time. Steve tells him about the bat he essentially stole from Jonathan in 1983 and then recreated so that he could keep one in his car and another in his room, then he made more to hide around his house after 1984 because he felt the need to constantly have a weapon on him. It helps Eddie a lot, being told that he’s not crazy but he’s just dealing with trauma like someone else did.

Later, after a few months, he moves most of the practical ones into a box and starts collecting cool ones. He gets a few switch blades with fun handles, starts finding knives with decorated hilts or engraved blades, even finds a few with colored metal. The obsession only gets worse when he finds out, months after the fact, that Hopper used a real life sword to kill a demogorgon in Russia. The knives change then, getting longer and slowly morphing into swords. By then he has to make something to display them all because there’s too many to have them cluttering his room. He and Wayne aren’t living together anymore so he has a little more space to himself and Eddie decides to replicate Wayne’s Hat Wall but with his knives and swords. The kids think it’s the coolest thing ever when they see it for the first time. Steve is… less enthusiastic, but mostly because he’s worried about the kids being around so many sharp things. He spends a solid minute complaining about Dustin especially, and whenever the kid tries to argue Steve just brings up something called Dart and he shuts up. (By this point Eddie has come to grips with the fact that he’s head over heels for Steve and seeing him care so strongly about the kids doesn’t help that at all.)

When, after a miraculous moment of stoned courage Eddie asks Steve out, they start dating Eddie starts getting little gifts for Steve, including pocket knives that he thought were pretty or cool. Steve cherishes them and he repays Eddie by getting him a custom sword for his birthday months later. (The sword gets used to cut the cake when they get married, both holding onto it together)

They are a dancer right? Physically they move with a lightness (air) and fluidity (water) that translates to how they move through the world; mentally they can be very flexible (water? air?) and he pushes back against societal boundaries to carve his own path (water); he's sociable (air) and curious (air), but he loves adventure (fire) and will take stupid risks for the fun of it (fire); but then they are the first to stand in defense of their loved ones (earth); and the O'Rinns all have this deep connection with the woods and the ley lines (earth)

so like??? idk what to pick haha. I think it shifts from moment to moment! Which suits them too, ig, bc Luca is constantly in motion 😊 I think because of that... probably water. But. idk idk he contains multitudes! We love a little guy!

The one MC I know for sure is my Blades MC Dorian Silvertongue -- that guy is fire, through and through. Warm and welcoming, energizing, fuelling, always the cheery, charming centre of attention. But he's also at risk of blazing too bright, consuming those around him with callousness and self-centredness if he's not careful. He's an inferno. He's a 🔥Presence🔥 (and he knows it. Revels in it. Dorian is pretty vain, and wants to see himself as a Hero and really make a mark on the world.)

Most women wouldn't be bold enough to walk up to the World's Greatest Swordsman, drink in hand and an exasperated look on her face. But then again, Ikkaku wasn't a normal woman. Or at least, her relationship with Mihawk wasn't that of most women. An odd companionship that had started during Law's shichibukai days had grown familiar and almost familial, with the engineer earning far more tolerance and even some affection than most others could even dream.

"I know you're not the party type, but are you really planning on standing in the corner all night, glaring at everyone? Isn't this supposed to be your party?" she asked, raising an eyebrow at Mihawk. Though, it was mostly in jest. If she had to guess, this whole shindig wasn't Mihawk's idea, even if it was being hosted in his castle by the organization he was surely leading, because there was no way the likes of Buggy the Clown was actually calling the shots, right?

Shaking her head, she knocked back the rest of her drink. The clown was actually part of why she came over in the first place. "And let me guess; you're going to glare at everyone who asks you to dance, right?" Ikkaku continued, rolling her eyes. "I hate to tell you this, but your clever plan isn't working the way you're hoping. Mostly because your 'boss' is making claims that you can't dance. And for reasons I'm still not convinced aren't eldritch powers, people seem to believe the words that come out of his mouth."

An idea popped into the engineer's head, and a smirk pulled at her lips as she held out her hand. "I think you should prove him wrong, and wouldn't you know it? My dance card has an opening." Ikkaku's voice dropped low to ensure only Mihawk would hear. "You'd be doing me a solid, too; Hawkins is here, and you're one of maybe five men he won't try to kill for being near me. And the only one of those five that I actually like. So, may I have this dance? Please?"
