how I look at Kate and the Duffers after they legit had Brenner on Broadway do things that are ripped straight out of my most controversial Brenner fic—which was posted way before Broadway ticket presale was even announced—and then they also fixed many of the plot holes/made a lot of subtext into text that I mentioned in the massive, controversial TFS analysis that I posted on my ao3 the same day Broadway tickets went on presale, and then they ALSO added specific details from the most recent (posted back in December) chapter of my less-controversial Henry fix-it fic that already had a spooky amount of similarities to the West End show when it debuted:

in his eyes, it’s not his problem

you could sit there and tell him how you’re feeling, what being trans means, all of it, and he’d just sit there and twiddle his thumbs

“…okay.” and then y’all go on with the day

he ends up mentioning it to renfield for some reason who actually understands and gives him a good description of it (renfields cool he’d be super supportive btw)

then dracula is like “ohhhh”

he sits you down later that day and asks questions and he’s not outwardly supportive but also not outwardly bad? he just doesn’t really care

occasionally you’ll just find random masc clothes in your room or laundry after that

he’s not. the greatest but he definitely tries his best with the pronouns and gets livid if someone messes them up, even by accident

(only he’s allowed to mix them up and he apologizes and uses the correct ones after)

he’s fascinated honestly

outwardly more supportive than dracula, already kind of gets it and doesn’t ask as many questions unless he feels they’re necessary

he’s like “wait here” after a couple of moments and comes back a bit later holding some of his old clothes he doesn’t wear anymore and lets you keep them

he’s another one who would kind of struggle with the pronouns but for the most part he gets the hang of it pretty quickly

if he or someone else uses the wrong pronouns he’s very polite with correcting himself or someone else

wouldn’t yell but would definitely have a TALK with anyone who still uses she/her

he’d be very fascinated and have a lot of questions

he’s kind of asking them repeatedly but it’s just because he wants to understand. it’s also because he’s like entranced and wants to know more

also he’s a surgeon. he could give you free top/bottom surgery but also maybe you shouldn’t trust him that much considering his earlier experiments

for some reason his brain is used to it instantly and he always uses the correct masc pronouns for you and it someone uses the wrong ones he emphasizes the pronoun until they get it

overall he could genuinely care less, the concept of ftm had him interested and that’s the only thing he cared about (getting information)

he’d be very confused. but not necessarily mean

you kind of just need to keep explaining it to him every time he messes up and then after a while he’s like “ohhhh”

it’s not his fault he’s just not used it

he would also be perfectly fine with it once he’s doing asking his questions, in his words “it’s perfectly normal to want to be your true self” (he’d know)

would probably like. tailor some of your clothes himself or pay someone to do it so they’re more masculine presenting or would straight up just get you new ones

his reaction is essentially “okay??” because he has no idea what this has to do with him

he’s cares less than everyone else. realistically he’d misgender you and then go on like nothing happened but the next time he uses a pronoun it’s likely masculine. he kind of just accidentally switches between them

he’s trying (he’s not)

he doesn’t treat you any different because he hates everyone equally, so he’ll still torment you and then drag you off to go rob a stand or something

he doesn’t have the best memory for the right pronoun, but he’s not transphobic. he just doesn’t care

very similar to hyde, wouldn’t care

however, he actually does try to look out for how he refers to you and if he messes up he’ll kinda just stand there like 😨 for a moment before he corrects himself

tbh i feel like if you have longer hair he’d cut it for you himself because he’s very talented with his hands

would also let you borrow a lot of his clothes and gives you money to buy new ones, but will not be getting you them himself (unless he asked madame giry) because he does not leave that cellar

over all very supportive!! is actually very sweet about the whole thing (considering if you trust him enough to come out as ftm ur probably close w him)

essentially she’s screaming I KNEW IT in your face

then goes on a long rant about how she knew and every little thing you’ve ever done that she thought was even slightly suspicious

overall she’s also very sweet and will give people the thousand yard stare if they misgender you (she’s very good with pronouns)

knows all kinds of ways to present more masculine because of her role in the opera house and helps you with those

Here’s the Jekyll I made for my 3D modeling final! He’s inspired by a mix of Barrymore Jekyll and TGS Jekyll. There’s definitely some parts of it I could’ve done better if I had more time, but finals really snuck up on me this semester. Still, I got to put Jekyll in high heels and a corset for a grade, so that’s always fun :D

I have consumed so much J&H content in the past 12 hours that all the existing versions and headcanons have merged in my head and I don't even want to chose the right ones from them.

Yes, Jekyll fucked around and found a terrible parasite named Hyde who took over his virtuous life, but also Jekyll created Hyde to do some dark stuff without consequences for his pristine facade that society could see. Yeah, they were separate but they were also one. Henry Jekyll was a cunt, but he was also a pure cinnamon roll who just wanted to help the world and accidentally went too far. And yes, Hyde was a menace and pure evil incarnated who poisoned Jekyll's life, but he was also just Jekyll or better yet, he was used by Jekyll!

I have no idea what's going on anymore and the world has gone insane :)

And now for those who didn't know- I've been planning on writing a fanfiction for the "Jekyll & Hyde " fandom [hi guys]. Since I haven't written anything for these characters before, I changed strategies. First, I'll be starting off with what I call >Interaction tests<. These are short interactions between two randomly picked characters, roundabout 1k - 1,5k words each.

The first one, as chosen by myself, is between Jekyll and Hyde themselves, and this is the result. Enjoy!

>Interaction test 1 - Dr. Henry Jekyll / Mr. Edward Hyde >1355 words<

"I told you not to touch that." "Hm?" The nonchalant reaction that shot back at him caused the older man to lean closer to the mirror's surface, lightly tapping against it to make sure of all attention focussing on himself in this very moment. His eyes locked onto Hyde within a mere second, maybe even less than that. Although remaining without a word more, it strained his nerves, his warning gaze following the other across the room, tracking his every movement as if worrying something might happen. No, he knew that there was nothing he could possibly do, whether something would go wrong or not. At least not in his current state of being.

"You worry too much, wouldn't you agree?" Hyde's voice came close to a mocking purr, darkened eyes fixed on where the mirror stood. Nothing more but a few quick steps were needed for him to approach the reflecting wall in front, his head tilted in a barely noticeable way. An unreadeable smile crept onto his lips, but Jekyll knew him well enough to see both amusement and discontent.

Amused about the 'good' ego's situation. Trapped behind the mirror, restricted to act as the reflection he was. Chained by the lost control of the shared mind and body. In surrender to the inability to prevent the horrifying things from happening and hold back the shadows that were but his own doing.

Discontented at being told what to do, being verbally reminded of what was fine and what was not. Hearing the scientist set borders to his movements, actions, thoughts. Not once did he silently comply to it. Why? Why stay hidden behind expectations when every time, every night, was a new opportunity to live?

While his carefree demeanor faltered momentarily beneath the stern words of his older opposite, his eyes narrowed faintly as response to the silence that dared to rest between the two of them. Allowing the doctor the triumph of having put him in his place? Oh no..

"Are you, perhaps, afraid that something might happen to your oh so precious work?" he sneered, backing away from the mirror at an unexpected speed. What started off as annoyance turned to a dangerous glimmer of curiosity, a combination Hyde knew to play alarmingly well. Henry flinched, both his arms slowly coming to cross over his chest. Uncertainty wrapped around him, watching his other half make his way to where he stood before, a hand moving close to a delicate phial, propped up neatly next to various other things needed for his work. Experiments, researches and the like, notes for further progress and as a reminder of past achievements, keeping track of every single step taken towards yet another exhausting task.

A quiet sigh fell past the constrained ego's lips, one of his hands moving up and down his arm, the pace bordering to slow-motion. "That's not it," Jekyll began to explain, earning a surpressed laugh from his dark-haired opposite. "However, note that it's.." "Let me take a guess; It's important, isn't it?" Chuckling to himself, the younger individual propped himself up against the closest table, eyeing his restrained friend with expectancy. "Tell me about it, if you will." Upon being met with silence, Hyde leaned forward in his position, eyes narrowed playfully, yet knowingly at the same time. One of his hands tapped the table almost rhythmically, giving the sense of an unheard melody that filled the lab.

It was that smile. That smile that spoke volumes without needing the help of words. The taunting tone of the silent hum flowing effortlessly from the younger half. He was aware of it. Oh, he definitely knew. Surely enough, it became obvious that he was very much in the right. Not even a try of an explanation would reach his ears. And why? Because he didn't need one. He never needed one.

Every little thing that went through one of them instantly reached the other, too. Impressions experienced by one half were often remembered by the surpressed side as well and, in some situations, used against the scientist himself. In this particular moment, Jekyll knew that he didn't owe the other anything, even less an explanation. He didn't need to spend his words on something that couldn't be any less obvious already.

"I'm afraid you don't need to hear about it," he cautiously concluded, tugging at his white sleeves a few times. He drew in a sharp breath, observing Hyde's reactions with an attentive, narrowed gaze. The sharpened focus crossed paths with a questioning glow, followed by a low sigh. "Whatever you say, my dear doctor. Whatever you say," Edward hummed, giving a dismissive wave directed at his supposedly better half. If he were to be in need of the informations at hand, he'd look for them himself. No, it was not necessary to tell him and if, he wouldn't ask for permission in first place.

Time went by. First only minutes, then almost half an hour. Pale fingers tapped the sturdy table, closed eyes now opening slowly, scanning through the room in a calculated manner, dissatisfied with the way the night was going. Raindrops hit the windows from outside, painting countless pictures against the glass, swaying with the breeze they brought with them.

Cold weather trapped both personalities inside, one more voluntarily than the other. One felt eager to leave despite it all, to roam the night the way he was used to. But he didn't. Much to the barely shown relief of his older friend, who felt certain about Hyde not wanting to risk being lectured while it was already long dark outside. As for Jekyll, who found himself able to list at least a thousand things that were better than spending his time as the reflection of a shadow, he wondered how long it might still take for the switch of control to turn the other way. Neither of them were able to remain in their personal first place forever, he knew.

He shook his head, pressing thoughts of this complicated part way back to where it wouldn't concern him. At least not for the following minutes. To say that much, many things were prefered over it, even if it was dealing with his alter-ego's boredom for the rest of the day.

The doctor's shoulders slumped, hands placed over one another in a failed attempt of hiding his very own mental state and the emotions that ran through him. Best he could do was watch the younger individual pace back and forth, yet make sure that he stayed away from neatly sorted stacks of paper and much more, objects he couldn't name due to the distance in between, but knew how much importance they held to his work. If there only were the time to..

"Can't you stop staring?" A solid amount of irritation rang out with those few words, breaking the silence and causing Henry, as thoughtful as he had been, to stumble back at first. "I daresay there's a difference between watching and, as you phrased it, staring, Hyde." His opposite glanced back and forth, turned his head to gaze at the already made preparations for following tasks on the other's mentally written list. Only the faintest hint of an annoyed growling sound flitted past the smaller one's lips, his own dark eyes momentarily closing. "Calm yourself, dear friend. I won't touch it," he huffed, a sharp edge to his tone as he spoke.

Needless to say, no one was more aware of how.. very much unable to act the scientist truly was, other than him. There was no one who knew better that, whatever he might risk to do, Jekyll wouldn't be able to prevent it from happening, having to witness it all nonetheless. Such knowledge felt amusing to Hyde, meanwhile unbearable for the original self.

He might be lucky, though. No one was at risk of getting harmed tonight. Steadily falling rain prevented the experimental half from leaving. And yet, who knew.. It all might just look entirely different tomorrow.

trying to figure out the specific dynamics between the characters rn in my jekyll and hyde au, and… ive found myself a roadblock.

idk whether or not to make these freaks gay.

BECAUSE, HOLD ON. theyre all very queer coded, lets get that straight (pun intended). but i dont know whether i should make some of the characters like… canonically gay in my version.

because, i do have ideas for what i could do with that, but i feel like there’s already a lot going on qnd i dont wanna js make a big mess of a story.

although, maybe it would make for some interesting drama in the end??? idk.

there’s already a lot of stuff that Jekyll does in this version, and so far, surprisingly, ive given Hyde like… nothing to do. so maybe he could do some gay shit that would make the ending i have in my head rn more interesting?? and also him being gay makes sense in my head. i think Jekyll’s a little queer too, but Hyde is the only one that openly expresses it. i think that would make the most sense in my version and for the themes ive already been cooking up so far. but idk. i need yalls help 😭😭

as funny as it is to harass you for your height, he makes it very clear only he’s allowed to do it

when you guys walk around in public he probably puts an arm around your shoulders every once in awhile to remind you he’s still taller

he loves you but he loves that he’s taller than someone for once even more

but when someone in the street points out your (or his) height they never see the light of day ever again. actually they don’t see anything at all because they get killed

although his love language is gift giving because you’re shorter than him sometimes he likes to push the hair out of your face and lean down and just kiss your forehead

also definitely does that thing where he squishes your face

as cute as you are to him your height lowkey scares him

he’s about eight feet tall and insanely strong so your height kind of worries him

when he hugs you he very gently and very carefully rests one hand on top of your head and the other on your back and doesn’t dare to even move or tighten his grip out of fear that you’re gonna snap in half

his hugs are amazing though

and of course he grabs the things off the tall shelf he’s not a monster

sometimes he even lifts you onto his shoulder to let you get it yourself and see the world at a new angle but he is oh so careful not to drop you

when he isn’t fearing for your life and his sanity about your life possibly ending he likes when you just lay on him because you look so tiny and comfortable
