what the fuck are perfect places anyway (bob/ty)

mein outlet für nostalgie & name-dropping! es ist quasi ein supercut von einer schwärmerei, die bob im laufe der jahre für ty entwickelt, aber obwohl ich relativ detaillierte notizen habe, besteht es vor allem aus self-indulgent vibes.

die idee war, daß ty die sommer häufig in rocky beach verbracht hat (bob und peter kennen ihn im canon ja schon seit der zeit bevor er durch südamerika gereist ist), und bob ihn erst cool fand, und ihm irgendwann auffiel, daß er ein bißchen wie daniel larusso aus karate kid aussah. und als ty sich dauerhaft in rocky beach niederlässt, hängt bob einfach gerne bei ihm rum, hört musik, probiert einen joint, und flirtet sehr unbeholfen und ist ziemlich kiebig, wenn ty sich mal mit wem trifft. (leider habe ich keine spruchreifen ausschnitte.)

bob ist ein bißchen gemein, skinny ist ein bißchen pathetic, und beide führen eine sehr schlecht kommunizierte fuckbuddy-beziehung, die eine leichte macke bekommt, als bob dylan mit hineinzieht. (dylan und skinny sind befreundet, aber haben auch irgendwo sehr komplizierte gefühle.)

ngl, vor allem war es eine entschuldigung für smut?!

ein ausschnitt:

„dein scheiß ernst? dylan parks?“, skinny sah ihn so entgeistert an, daß es schwer war, zu erkennen, ob er wütend oder bloß überrascht war. „von dem hast du dich ficken lassen?“ „bist du eifersüchtig?“, fragte bob und musterte ihn. er fühlte sich träge, knochenlos, von dem haze. es war ein wunder, daß sein körper noch auf die berührungen ansprach. „fick dich, andrews, ich bin kein kleines mädchen“, skinny lachte, aber es klang aufgesetzt. „hat mich überrascht.“ „was? daß er’s mit typen treibt? oder daß er mich gefickt hat?“ skinny sah ihn nicht an. „daß es okay für dich war. obwohl er dir die nase gebrochen hat.“ „die war nich’ gebrochen.“ „trotzdem. ich kapier’ nicht, wie das okay war, aber nicht…“ „fang’ jetzt nicht davon an“, sagte bob. er war zu high, um wirklich wütend zu werden. es war die eine sache, die sie immer wieder erfolglos zu umschiffen versuchten.

denn die härteste zeit ist vorbei (tatort: berlin)

ein sehr versöhnliches coda zur folge das opfer. ich habe in einem vorigen ask ein kurzes snippet daraus gepostet, das quasi die prämisse für die geschichte war: karow bricht seine zelte in maiks alter wohnung ab, aber kommt dann doch immer wieder in memos imbiss.

und weil ich den typen mochte, den karow vor dem club küsst, habe ich ihn da auch für ein kurzes intermezzo reingesneakt (und ihn rahim genannt und zu einem architekten gemacht, weil er ein bißchen so aussah).

Memo sieht sie abwechselnd an. Er ist leiser, als sonst. Er stellt ihnen ihre Bestellung hin. "Läuft da was?", fragt Rahim später, in der U-Bahn. Karow sieht ihn an. "Was soll da laufen? Ich gehe da hin und esse da." - "Tausend Imbissläden in Berlin und du suchst dir den aus, in dem sie im Hinterzimmer Tattoos stechen?" - "Er hat mir ein Tattoo gestochen."

I googled so much, you have no idea and of course 90% of results are just those stupid "x name generator" sites >:( , so it took forever...

Things i found most useful: reddit threads where people asked for halfling (or generally fantasy sounding) names, Websites that list medieval names (if possible not baby name websites but theyre hard to avoid)

Here's some first names collected from reddit, random baby name websites and list articles (also this site, this site and this site, were helpful): Silas, Cedric, Peregrine, Augustus, Remington, Archibald, Montgomery, Hildebald, Ladislaus, Mojmir, Stanislaus, Edmund, Benedict, Leopold, Balin, Frederick, Hildebrand, Wallace, Archibald

First names i found in a list of hobbits in LOTR: Adelard, Doderic, Filibert, Fredegar, Hildibrand, Hildifast, Hildigard, Hildigrim

Some last names i found through random googleing and reddit threads (and just mashing words together that sound sort of hobbit-ish): Teapuff, Blusterwind, Dandyramble, Prescott , Goldenleaf, Goldbarrel, , Goldenhill

and then one of sites about halfling names gave me the idea to look for old english surnames and i came across this wiktionary list (which was so helpful!) and there i found these names: Biddlecombe, Brokenborough, Goldsborough, Popplestone, Wigglesworth

tbh finding names for ocs is always one of my fave parts, so i had fun even though the googling was very frustrating because of those stupid generator sites^^''

and 89 was love me like you used to by lord huron! genuinely didn't think i listened to this a lot, or even some. the occasional listen will get anything far i guess (but it's insane that it beat SEVERAL songs i looped for days ? like eisbrecher's cover of out of the dark or getaway car by miss swift. whateverrr)

First ship: No idea but probably from some kind of old nickelodeon show.

Last movie: I rewatched Fünf Freunde from 2012 the other day and I still love it. I had the biggest crush on Valeria Eisenbart (who played George) back then (no tbh I'm still crushing on her) or maybe I just wanted to be like her character idk. Either way I'm very queer now and my obsession with George was a huge sign that I should've seen sooner🥴

Last song: Um...currently listening to the three Investigators, does that count? The last real song was Hot by Confetti.

Currently reading: Extremely loud and incredibly close by Jonathan Safran Foer and it's so good!!!!! I highly recommend it!!

Currently watching: Nothing really. A few episodes of Friends here and there but that's all. I'm actually really bad at watching anything with more than one episode 🥴

Currently consuming: I had some leftover cupcakes earlier. My sister made them and they're really good!

Currently craving: This is probably sad and really fucking pathetic but the one thing I'm really craving is a good friend that I can physically hug and talk to every day. Someone who's there when I come home from work. Someone who spends the evenings with me and cuddles me. Like...don't get me wrong, I also really enjoy my alone time but sometimes it would be nice to know that there's someone waiting for me, you know? (And I’m not allowed to have pets in my apartment :p)

Honestly, it's SO WEIRD sitting on this fic for so long, because it's not my posting date yet. Usually I finish a fic and then I post it right away. But alas, have some RBB for now!

“David thinks I’m in distress,” Henry clarifies, reaching down to gently pet the dog’s head. “Well, are you?” Technically it’s not Alex’ break yet, but he sits down opposite Henry anyway, and even Nora seems to sense that something’s off, so she doesn’t say anything and instead takes Alex’ place at the register. “No. I don’t know, maybe.” Henry huffs, nodding towards the unopened letter on the table. “It’s a response from one of the publishers I’ve talked to in London.” He then adds, bottom lip pulled between his teeth.

End-of-Year Appreciation Post

Let's see if I can get this done before midnight - I have 36 minutes! But I really wanted to get this posted, so... time for a speedrun! This post won't nearly be able to say everything I wanna say, so, first and foremost: I love and appreciate all of my mutuals and people I've gotten to talk to this year, so thanks for coming to my corner of the internet and gifting me a little (or a lot - because lord knows I don't shut up if someone mentions one of my favourite fandoms) of your time!

With that being said, time for some special thanks!

Got a Rat Patrol Cake for my Birthday 😊

My brother @daughterofhecata sends his thanks for hat references and a "Please draw Moffit, I couldn't figure out that fucking beret!"

Oh my gosh I can't handle how cute that cake is TT^TT stupendous! The little hats to represent all the characters is seriously so perfect!! I hope you had a very good birthday ^^

Also yeah, I went to have a look at the beret and the reason you can't figure it out is probably a) because all the hats in this show are so so so hard to draw and b) because the ridiculous sand goggles strike again

Apparently he has a Royal Tank Regiment beret, which is worn at a slight angle over the right eye. This in and of itself is pretty easy to draw. Unfortunately almost all the pictures of Moffitt include my arch-nemesis, Those Stupid Goggles, and if you put big, heavy goggles with a big, heavy strap around a soft, wool cap then guess what! it becomes a squished, nonsensical mess! Completely indecipherable! Here is my best understanding of it
