seeing people claim that lucanis is 'bad representation' is hilarious to me because in so many ways he's really the closest anything has ever gotten to capturing my own personal experience. sorry for being bad real life queer and mental health/neurodiversity representation folks 😔 I'll take time to reflect and do some work on myself and try to do better in the future

so i finally cleared prometheus on 32!

(and now i can get round to testing out the other weapons bc i unlocked eos' torches and then never looked back)

#chronos was fucking easy to clear did that months ago #but god did it take me forever to work my way through the surface #kept at it though bc back in the original hades early access i cleared on 8 and 16 (or what became 8 and 16 anyway)#(the heat totals used to be higher bc it used to max out at 140 - i wanna say it was like 20/60/120 or something like that?)#but regardless i managed the first two tiers when lernie was the final boss #but never managed much higher before the full game came out #and even once that happened i think my record is 27 #and im continually mildly irritated i didn't get that last statue when getting that last statue was objectively easier #so this time i was not waiting around! i dunno when the next major update is coming out but i know it's soon #and fuck doing that boss (probably atlas) on 32 goddamn fear #(god bless the chronic illness kicking my ass this year? have an art piece i've been working on literally since the game came out)#(really excited to finish it)#(but it has been much easier lately to play hades in bed than to draw hades stuff which requires my desk)#hades 2 #hades sgg #supergiant games #melinoe

The most annoying thing about AI art is actually how it's removed the ability to get some idea at a glance from a youtube video thumbnail of whether the advertised content is genuine of entirely fabricated clickbait.

There were some things you couldn't readily imitate with stock images, and so if your thumbnail contained something bizarre and bespoke it probably actually appeared in the video. Not so any more! And yes you can still spot AI in many cases, but having to stop and squint at the video for a while partly defeats the point.

Translations are so silly. Juniper's whole plant gets changed because the Polish word for juniper ("jałowiec") is masculine, so she's a viburnum shrub ("Kalina") instead. Meanwhile, the Stoll brothers are the Hood brothers in the first series! That one gave me a pause when I was first reading HOO because I read it from a different translator and he used the OG last name, I think? Something like that. Anyways, that change is because the Stoll->stole pun doesn't work in Polish, but Robin Hood is still a popular figure! Since nobody knows what "Skippy" is in Poland, and also since "Scypion" is pronounced differently making it an irrelevant nickname anyways, Skippy gets called "Oscypek", a type of smoked sheep cheese made in the Polish mountains; it also sounds like a diminutive of Scypion, just with an O at the front. Rainbow is "Tęczuś", which essentially kinda means "itty bitty tiny baby rainbow" — the only way it could get more "babiefied" is if it was like. "Tęczusio" or "Tęczusinek" or something along those lines (you can make up dozens of diminutives in Polish, it's wild). Blackjack's name is "Mroczny" which just means fucking. Dark/Gloomy but with the mysterious/foreboding connotation, like "the Dark Prophecy", not just dark in colour. Money Maker is "Pieniążka" which is a feminization of the word "pieniążek", aka "little tiny coin" (and also seems to be a different plant? Pieniążek is the Chinese money plant, pilea peperomioides, rather than crassula swaziensis, which I assume is the OG plant; the change is probably because the OG's Polish name seems to be "grubosz", which is essentially. A particularly crass way to say "fat man"). Peaches also falls victim to becoming a whole different plant — he's plums, which. I got nothing. I don't know why. Maybe they decided "Brzoskwinia" is too long? Can't be the same reason as Juniper's change, because "Śliwka" is feminine, just like Brzoskwinia. It's also singular instead of plural, which I'll attribute to grammar, since Polish verbs have to agree with the gender and number of the word they refer to, making a plural word as a name a weird and awkward thing (the fact that his name is feminine is odd enough, while reading).
