Surprise, a random Hinata post! Since it's the twins' birthday this week (and also mine btw, hi I share birthday with 2wink) I thought it'd be nice to get a post up for both of them (Yuta will come later). I actually wrote this a looong time ago already, so it's about time this post went up. I went for first kiss HCs because they are fun to write and also because there already is a Yuta version, so they can match!

It was just a day like any other-

Okay that’s a lie, it really was not a normal day. In fact, it was such a weird day that it felt like a fever dream.

I mean, how COULD the day where you finally had your first kiss with your biggest crush- oops I mean your boyfriend, the person you love like no other be a normal day? Yeah, it really couldn’t.

Especially when that person is a little goofball that won’t shut up. Though that is what you absolutely adore about him, he brings excitement all around him.

You weren’t originally thinking about kissing at all, about your first kiss… kissing him.

On that day though, you were feeling extra generous (wink wink). As you were on your way to meet with Hinata for your date, you spotted a flower shop. Well, more specifically, you spotted the sunflowers inside the shop that reminded you of Hinata.

So you bought them. As a gift. For Hinata. Hoping he wouldn’t find you weird for this and dump you. Maybe you should’ve just given him chocolate or some sweets…

Though there was no turning back now, you couldn’t simply return the flowers and there was no time to run home to bring them there. You had to stick with it and give the flowers to Hinata.

Once you arrived there, you could feel your face becoming warmer and warmer as you approached Hinata, absolutely nervous about giving the flowers to him. Nervous to his reaction.

To your relief, he loved loved LOVED the flowers, truly, he was so happy to receive a gift from you.

“For me? Sunflowers? I could- I COULD KISS YOU RIGHT NOW, thank you so much for thinking about me. I love you so much. Now I feel bad that I didn’t bring a gift for y-”

Now hold up a minute. What.

It took both of you a moment to process what he just said. Did he really just say that he could kiss you? Really?

“Uhm. I-I mean. I could- uhhhh… forget what I said, I didn’t say anything, okay? Don’t worry. I wouldn’t just-”

In this situation you could only laugh. To see him so flustered like that, it might be weird, but it brought you joy. It eased your nerves, to see this side of him is something that rarely happens and you wish you could see it more often.

Even then your first kiss wasn’t a serious thought in your head, but in that moment you knew that he was the one you wanted to spend your life with, for as long as possible.

So you made your move, “you said you could kiss me right? What do you think about going through with that?”

Even though that day felt like a fever dream, every moment of it was real and you will never forget that day. Especially not when it got you two to be a little closer.

nekoma represents the Earth Kingdom due to their defensive playing style and resilience. the team excels in quick defense and demonstrates considerable endurance against their opponents. like Toph, they maintain their confidence and stance regardless of the challenges thrown at them.

aoba johsai embodies the Water Tribe by adeptly adapting their skills to any playing style, turning it to their advantage. the team showcases creativity in employing both offensive and defensive attacks, excelling in teamwork. Oikawa and Katara share similarities in their unwavering determination to not give up hope for their teams, demonstrating strong leadership skills.

Random idea went through my head today that hey if the sdr2 cast was in a non-despair au and they had a class group chat Hinata would be added for whatever reason even tho hes in reserve course because theyre all friends with him and Komaeda wojld become the admin on.accident and nobody would know why or how and he'd just hold the power over it and they wouldn't be able to kick him

Summary:

Propaganda 1:

This show literally changed my life I’m not even kidding. It’s messages about living your life to the fullest and finding, creating, and maintaining important friendships in your life literally got me to pick myself up and actually start living my life. All of its main characters are all incredibly memorable, and they all bounce off of each other very well. It’s fun and cute as hell, but also a really powerful story about dealing with grief and moving on. The final three episodes of the show are an emotional gut-punch, but they leave you with a sense of bittersweet fulfillment and a drive to get out in the world and have your own adventure.

Propaganda 2:

Let’s start with the fact that this is Madhouse doing a (relatively) grounded coming of age story about high school girls - the show looks gorgeous, of course. The music’s solid as well. (I still regularly listen to the ending.) But what really shines is the writing and characterization.

The pacing on this is perfect. For a show that spends half its runtime getting to Antarctica, you never feel like the time should be allotted differently or that you’re missing out on hijinks. Episode 12 is a particular standout, with tension building up until it explodes, and then goes still for the true emotional climax of the show. The four main girls all feel like believable teens, and seeing their relationship develop over the course of the series and watching them come into their own is well-done. The way it handles Shirase and her emotions, and how this complicates her relationships with them all is a particular standout. This may not be eligible in that it’s one of those anime people who watch A LOT of anime will recommend highly—it was on Crunchyroll and IGN’s best anime of the 2010s lists and on several “best of” lists for 2018. But it never quite took off the way it truly deserves, so I’m submitting it. It’s getting an English dub soon, though, and I really hope that gives it a resurgence of popularity. The girls are alright.

#F4: Megalo Box

Summary:

Follows the story of a young man that only goes by his ring name “Junk Dog”, set in the late 21st century. People live in a large metropolis, those without citizenship forced in slums called the Restricted Area. Junk Dog fights in fixed matches in the Restricted Area in a sport called Megalo Box, which is boxing augmented by metal exoskeletons.

One day, Junk Dog almost crashes into the CEO of the Shirato Company on his motorcycle, and he tries to pick a fight with her guard, Yuri. Yuri ends up fighting Junk Dog in a match, beating him and challenging him to fight him in a tournament called Megalonia. Forging an ID and taking the name Joe with help from his coach, the young fighter only has 3 months to win enough matches to rank high enough to get into the tournament and face Yuri. Not just for his pride, but also because of threats from the mafia, who wants money from Joe and his coach that they don’t have.

Propaganda:

Megalo Box is a series that got some recognition during the Crunchyroll Awards. It even aired on Adult swim’s late night anime block, even gaining a second season. But it seems like after the initial season, all interest of the show evaporated. It’s rarely talked about in fandom spaces or in anime video essays.

Which is a shame! It's a solid watch. The music is stellar. The characters are enjoyable, even if the plot of the main character Joe being a massive underdog that claws his way through a boxing tournament is a little predictable. But to be fair, this show was created to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the boxing manga Ashita no Joe.

Still, the anime keeps things fresh. It has added political commentary about class and race dynamics. Joe is brown-skinned, looks mixed, and is an undocumented citizen in the city he lives in. He has to fight in illegal fixed Megalo Box matches in the slums in order to make ends meet. Even that provides little protection, as he and his coach Ganbu get threatened by the mob for more money that they can’t produce. It also touches upon how children are abandoned and abused by the system with Sachio.

Joe is the ultimate underdog story. He ends up going by “Gearless Joe” because he fights his matches without wearing any Gear—aka the metal exoskeletons use in Megalo Box. He’s essentially boxing old-school style against others an unfair advantage with tools that augment their punches and movements. Joe did this in the first place because he was too poor to buy a new Gear, his old one falling apart, so he felt he was better off training and using his natural body in matches.

The second season also explores Joe's struggles with depression and drug addiction as he trains another Megalo Boxer, which is interesting and adds another layer to him.

Plus, the show also has racial diversity in the side characters. The English dub cast voice actors of the same ethnicities for Pepe, Chief, and Maria. Also, Kaiji Tang voices Joe, the lead.

Trigger Warnings: Child Abuse, Graphic Depictions of Cruelty/Violence/Gore.

The anime is about boxing, so characters get beaten up quite a bit (even in fantastical ways). However, there’s also some other violence threats (like Joe’s coach Nanbu getting his eye cut and threatened to earn money by the mafia). Also, a kid named Sachio joins the group to help Joe and gets beaten by thugs and threatened a few times through the series.

this is the kodakaverse in me speaking but like. for the danganronpa 3 anime the promotional material was vaguely queerbaity, using komaeda and hinata together despite the fact that those characters barely interacted in said anime.

nothing too egregious, but you would have to be purposefully obtuse to ignore that these images were trying to ride the wave of the popular ship, again, despite the fact that it has no place in the anime whatsoever.

these two characters interact once at the end.

i know this is a lot of komaeda and hinata in a row, but i'm actually here to talk about akudama drive. the promotional material for danganronpa went "hell yeah... komaeda and hinata together... that's what you want to see right? :)" but akudama drive's promotional content largely gave us nothing for brawler and hoodlum.

i don't know how to explain that hoodlum is in love with brawler . like i hate to be that guy and i don't mean to say it in a silly way, i am dead serious: there is no straight interpretation for hoodlum's feelings for brawler. i genuinely think it is meant to be interpreted as homosexual attraction.

of course we don't have a wiki as full of promotional images as the danganronpa wiki (i'd know, i'm the admin) (of the akudama drive wiki) (phew...), so if anyone can think of a queerbaity official image for brawler and hoodlum, i'd genuinely be interested in seeing it. although they're pictured together (in the character mini-album, they even sing together - like two heterosexual bros of course) i don't think i've seen promotional material that pushes it juuuust to the limit, like you might have seen done by using komaeda and hinata together for no reason. like taking advantage of the ship existing.

of course, there's the fact that akudama drive was a new ip. but i think it's noteworthy that brawler and hoodlum didn't get the vaguely-homoerotic treatment that is so common in promotional material.

like, knowing brawler, this doesn't qualify imo:

they're not having passionate gay sex but at least it's the two of them together. and i'm not saying i need my fujoshi needs fulfilled here: i'm genuinely surprised that the marketing team didn't try to take advantage of the potential fandom for these two. perhaps because they're not skinny pale twinks.

courier and swindler also have their own image together in the same bonus, because they're the other obvious duo. this is obvious if you watched akudama drive, but in case saying "gay" and "danganronpa" in the same post brought over anyone who thinks i'm insane...

for promotional material, you put 'em together for easy hype and money.

it's odd trawling the boorus for stuff and realizing that the reason many pieces of heavily circulated artwork are unsourceable is very specifically because the uploader didn't bother to do it properly. danbooru was a lot of people's first contact with jp fan artists next to livejournal, and they often did not have the tools to procure art on their own outside of consulting these sources, so something being badly or inadequately sourced wasn't going to be quickly rectified. sometimes an artist's (abandoned) handle is listed, but no link to their site, sometimes the link to a site is just a link to the image on said site as opposed to it's related webpage (which the wayback machine gives me way more issues than you'd think getting to the actual site itself!), and so on. it's a sitewide snag only really rectified in the recent decade, and it has unintentionally contributed to the loss of a lot of old net artwork. danbooru's admin's were (likewise) the site's earliest contributors, and have hundreds to thousands of posts modelling this poor sourcing practice.

like this image! how many of you weeaboos have seen this before? it used to be inescapable if you liked hinata and used the internet in 2009. and it's source is literally lost to time in a way that yandex and saucenao will never recover.

and it is very specifically this guy's fault that this is the case

A Sunrise Is A New Day!

A cry of a newly born child wails at midnight right as the full moon is at it's highest before another cry of an adult mourning his mother that lost her life birthing her youngest into the world and just months earlier they had lost their husband/Father in a wagon accident, now only two of the (L/N) family lives to see the next sunrise.

Days later...

"Naoto.... I thought it over for a while, I decided that in order for me to heal and rise Eden I need to move somewhere else." Naoto places the pencil in his hand on the desk after I approach him at his home late at night but he knew this was coming after the passing of my parents and now having to rise my sister, nothing is holding me to this town any more. He grabs a slip of paper from a cupboard in his desk before handing it to me

"My older sister lives in a nice small town called Jastgoth with her Alpha it's basically in the middle of nowhere, this is her address so you can write to her and see if it's a place for you." Gently I take ahold of the paper as I thanked him before Eden started crying in the other room where I placed her to sleep earlier.

"See you later." I said to my old friend after getting Eden to settle down and left back to the small house on the edge of town, early the next morning before Eden could wake up again I carefully write out a letter to Hinata and take it to the post office once Eden is awake before giving her to a neighboring Beta to babysit her while I work some money at the saloon. For three weeks we wrote to each other taking about many things but mostly her telling me about what life is like in the small town and any good gossip but in her last letter after I had written to her about my decision to move there she told me she's with a pup which I immediately made my way over to her brother house to tell the news.

"Naoto! You wouldn't believe it!" I shouted before running through the front door which scared Naoto at my sudden appears in his home.

"Calm down and breathe before you pass out!" I take a deep breath while feeling glad that Eden usual babysitter is watching her right now, I hold the letter in the air with a smirk.

"This is Hinata's last letter after telling her my decision.....

Dear, (Y/N)

I'm very glad that you have decided to move to our small but cozy town, both me and Emma can't wait to meet you in person along with little Eden! I also have very exciting news to tell and I wish for you to share it with my brother, we're having a pup! Naoto, you're going to be a uncle and I hope with all of my heart for the both of you to meet the new addition to the family very soon!

Love Hinata." He's freezes as he process the information about his older sister but his eyes water when it finally clicked that he's going to be an uncle.

"When do you have a day off from the newspaper company?"

"Not to soon but I can get it moved closer if I tell them it's a family emergency." He quickly throws on a coat to head back to the office so he can hopefully catch his boss before he leave the building while I head to the Beta looking after Eden.

"Hello, I'm sorry but can you look after her for a few days? I need to get things ready to move." The male submissive Beta named Admin smiled at the news.

"Of course I can and I'll miss the both of you but I'm glad you found a safe place to raise this little sweet heart." He bounced the little girl in his arms.

"Thank you!" I ran home to get as much sleep as I can before I started moving things into the old wagon in the morning, it takes two days of constant moving things with few breaks to finally finished which Naoto helped at the end after getting his bags ready for the long trip that he'll be taking with us not only to see his sister but to also help me settle into the new town.

"Is there a house or land for sale?" With Eden laying in his arms Naoto questioned about were I'll be living once we get there after we left a few hours ago and I said all my byes to everyone I know, I have already discussed it with Hinata.

"There's a small house for sale a few miles out of town but still close enough if you have to walk, Hinata also informed me that there's an job opening either at the lumber mill or the blacksmith." The wagon rocks as the horses attached pulls it along the dirt but well traveled road and we get as comfortable as we can while listening to the sounds of nature around us.

[Admin]: Hello there, anon! I haven't really thought of such until you had asked so I can see her going two ways personality wise. I mean in one way, I can see RTN Hanabi really live up to her name and being the most chaotic being to exist (her name translating to firework and all lol).

Buuut in another sense I can see her having a personality more like genin Hinata; being the more shy, meeker younger sibling so that her name's meaning doesn't quite match her if that makes sense? But idk I think both ways would suit her RTN self.
