If you are involved in climate activism and if you work in town planning and purchasing, or anything similar, I am begging you to please, *please* start thinking about disabled folk, elderly folk and parents with young kids when you are talking about walking and biking to places.
Cycles are absolutely inherently more pedestrian-friendly than cars, but they are still perfectly capable of injuring or even killing pedestrians, particularly frailer people, small people, and pets.
A lot of pedestrians, especially elderly and disabled people, have developed this instinctive terror of cycles and cyclists purely because poor planning so often shoves cycles into pedestrian spaces that aren’t actually even that ideal for pedestrians, and people who already have difficulties - elderly and disabled people, dog walkers, parents of small children - in those spaces start accumulating experiences of injury or even a succession of near-misses, which are perfectly capable of producing trauma even if physical injury is avoided.
And that only plays into the hands of polluters and governments who are in their pockets as well as increasing the marginalisation of already-marginalised people.
I can’t blame cyclists who are too afraid to ride cycles on the roads along with motor traffic. It’s terrifying and incredibly unsafe. Cycle paths, Cycle lanes, and other specific spaces for cyclists are absolutely essential, with as little need to share space with motor traffic *or* pedestrians as possible. Even in wide city boulevards, laid-out cycle paths and spaces are essential. They literally only need paint! And let electric scooters back on them in the UK too.
If you are providing any form of public rentable cycles, please, *please* accommodate elderly, frailer and disabled people too. We tend to be the ones who are in the most need of alternatives to get places, but traditional bikes are inaccessible to frailer people and most people with balance and fatigue issues. Please buy a selection of bikes, including adult-size tricycles, scooters with seats, and bikes with seats and tow options for small children. Parents exist, and are mostly desperately in need of transport as they have small humans with short legs and limited energy, and most prams and buggies are incompatible with traditional cycles.
We know so damn well how right-wing governments and corporations benefit from setting us against each other, and how adept they are at using marginalised people to distract the majority of exploited workers from the larger issues said governments are doing poorly or not tackling at all.
Disabled and elderly people, and parents of small children, are very vulnerable to climate change and the issues it causes. We are not the enemies of the climate movement; but we equally need to be *included* in it and *accommodated* by it.
If you are only looking for solutions that work for abled, healthy young adults, you are, frankly, not doing your job effectively. Listen to disabled people, older people, and parents. If you are doing large-scale planning work, invite us into the planning process *early*, not at the end when any changes will seem too burdensome and expensive to make, and, honestly, pay us for our time and expertise.
Oh, and if you make or sell bikes or electric bikes, sell more accessible options like adult trikes and ones with child seats and towing options too, please. And don’t charge enormously more for them than standard bikes. Financing options would be good too. Most disabled people can’t afford to run a car, and your bikes are often more expensive than that, if you offer them at all.

baz has had a lot of stressors stacked on top of one another, so he’s had a neurotic couple of days. delyla was here for a week, which he hated bc she is very high energy with no impulse control; our neighbor had a gardener come for the first time in recent memory and baz hates gardeners (flips out if he hears a lawn mower, etc.); another neighbor is having their roof worked on, so lots of banging and people noises; and pepperoni has been barking and bouncing off the walls more lately, which he always answers with more barking. he barked alllllll day yesterday. i was very tempted to traz him, but he gets so loopy on it that i try to use it as sparingly as possible. delyla went home tonight and you could instantly feel him deflating. he went from curling up on top of me to sprawling on the couch. he’s knocked tf out in bed now.

Okay but don't think about older Daryl when he returns from France.
Jude and the kids are all adults now, and a new generation he's never met before is waiting for him when he returns to the gates.
He rides a different custom bike now, a trike, perhaps. Bikes get so heavy and Daryl isn't as sturdy anymore.
The greying in his beard now traveled upward, streaking his once dark brown hair with silver strands.
His leg never healed properly after Alpha's attack, his limp getting so bad he sports a cane now on solid ground, a brace covering his bad leg for forest trips and hunts. He never stopped.
But now, seeing you all grown up, no longer 'that kid' in your early 20s he feels its time to settle. It was clear the community thrived without his hunting so he'd gather the courage, even in his old age, to ask it if you'd be willing to take up the job as his caretaker.
He could still do almost everything on his own, but he really wanted to be in your company as much as he could now.
And of course you agreed.
Daryl had saved your life so often, and you cared deeply for the man.
You'd happily share your home with the old huntsman.

Writing Commissions Open!
Hey howdy hey, guess who's broke and whose brain has latched on to the idea of getting a bike or a trike to get places other than the one (1) coffee shop in walking distance!
YEP. I need to open commissions.
However, I do have at least one thing going for me- I'm told I'm fairly good at writing things! Fanfic things, at least. While I'm not dumb enough to outright go "hey, pay me to write fanfiction," I figure I can at least point out some fanfics I've written that seem to have gone over well as examples of my work, since that's most of what I've got for proof of my skills.

I'd show more, but Tumblr won't let me add more images, and even these fought me Tooth And Nail when I was trying to format them properly. Truly a functioning website.
Hopefully these kind of give an idea of the vibes I'm strongest with, too. Pricing and rules will be under the cut. I do have a target I'm trying to reach here, but depending on how well this goes, I might end up keeping commissions open indefinitely. We'll see. :D
DM me if you're interested!
Things I'm Comfortable Writing:
Original Storylines (Brief primer on the world/characters I'll be writing with will be required)
Things like the pieces shown on my AO3 account
OCs
Y/N-style pieces (both with and without the actual usage of "Y/N")
Mild Romance
Gore/Severe Injury
Body Horror
Whump
Look, if it's in the Danny Phantom phandom and basically nowhere else, I'm probably just fine writing it, despite its intensity xD
Things I Will Not Write:
Smut. There's no shame in enjoying it, I just. Don't.
Incest. Absolutely NONE. Even leaving aside the whole debate about whether or not people should ship incest ships, I would not be able to enjoy writing it, which would make the resulting work of low quality, which would be a huge waste of time for everyone involved.
Pedophilia- specifically, ships with a minor and an adult multiple years their senior. See above. 17yo x 18yo is pushing it, but depending on the circumstances, I might allow it. They aren't exactly in completely different phases of life there. However, I'm in my 20s and don't particularly want to think about or write about kids the age of my youngest brother dating people my age or older, you feel me?
Bigotry presented to the reader as a positive thing. I'm not gonna write your favorite heroic character declaring OOC that minorities are terrible people. If you want something from the POV of a character meant to be terrible, such as someone like Fire Lord Ozai in AtLA, however, I may be willing to write it.
I reserve the right to refuse any commission and not have to explain why. Person-to-person, though, this will likely only come up if someone tries to commission something that crosses these lines and refuses to acknowledge such.
Payment: 5¢ USD per word. This works out to…
$12.50 for 250 words
$25 for 500 words
$50 for 1K words
and so on.
I'll need half the payment up front as a deposit, then the rest upon completion. If, for whatever reason, I fail to write the commission, you will be refunded in full.
If you pay me for a given number of words, I will do my best to stick to it. I will make sure you at least get your money's worth, but if I just can't quite fit the writing into the given limit, I won't charge you for the extra words. Call it 100 words or so of wiggle room.
A commission for a fic 1K or larger that runs 100 words or less over the intended length will not cost extra
A commission for a fic between 500 and 999 words that runs 50 words or less over will not cost extra
A commission for a fic 499 words or below that runs 25 words or less over will not cost extra
A commission for a fic that has enough going on to run over that limit will result in me contacting you to ask for either a scaled-down plot or payment for the extra writing.
I will not consider calling a commission complete until I can hit the target wordcount at minimum.
If it should happen that I just can't make a scene stretch to the full wordcount, but you still want to keep what is written, the words that were not written will be refunded.

New bike week. I had six failed back procedures this past year (the last one actually made things worse). I decided to cross over to the dark side of the force.
My new Catrike 700 recumbent trike arrived Monday. They’re shipped by freight (18wheelers) on a pallet in a box big enough to hold two adult coffins. The bike was complete and ready to ride. They asked for my measurements ahead of time so it was already dialed in and I didn’t have to cut the chain or anything else.
I took off the stock pedals and put my own on first. Next I put my Garmin Edge on and the Garmin radar and an extra light, my road bike bag, plus a water bottle and was off. You need that radar, those lights, and that ugly flag because you are on 6 inches off the ground and hard to see without them.
No back pain, no bottom pain, no chamois cream, or any aches and pains. There’s an easy learning curve especially if you’ve already been riding regular upright bikes. No sharp turns at speed and keep the front right wheel from going off the road.
They are fast on the flats and downhills. On the former you can cruise in the 20’s easily if you’re already fit. On the latter you can reach frightening speeds if you’re in traffic.
Downside is climbing. The smallest rollers are like deploying a parachute behind you. You can’t stand up to put your weight on the pedals so you either grind or tediously spin a low gear at low speed. Most people won’t be taking them over mountains.
I looked into two wheeled recumbents but there’s a steep learning curve and cornering or u-turns on public roads can be problematic. Hills aren’t much better than a trike either. The two wheelers aren’t as nimble as a regular bike so traffic, dodging potholes, and the aforementioned climbing doesn’t make them appealing. Two wheeled recumbents also have hard stiff seats that don’t breathe like the mesh on trikes. Sales of 2 wheel bents have been declining for years while trike sales are steadily rising.
I’ll be splitting my riding time between this and my traditional road bikes. They use different muscle groups so you have to stay accustomed to uprights. I still plan on doing races, fondos, and group rides so the traditional bikes will still see some mileage.
I only have three short rides in but so far I’ve noticed that the power related numbers are down when on the trike. Heart rate is lower, power is lower, calories burned is lower etc. you’re basically not using your upper body much just your legs and different muscle combinations to boot.
Recumbents are fun but at this time they’re still mainly for those unfortunate enough to have muscular skeletal issues. Here in the states there are virtually no races or events for recumbents. You can ride a two wheeler on some local group road rides but mixing isn’t always practical on rolling or hilly courses.

One time I dreamt season 5 of young justice came out and it was a lot more adult, like batmans bare ass and Tim Drake wearing fake boobs adult. (This should cover as a content warning but also fictional violence and sex work)
The plot was that the light had decided to betray the league of shadows and instal deaths trike as the new leader. While the coup was happening Batman was infiltrating the league to rescue "robin", unclear if this meant red hood or Damian. Either way he got captured with Raj and Damian but the Red Hood escaped and forwarded the message to the batfam. So now it was the Teams job to rescue batman from Bane (they don't know it's Bane yet). So Tim Drake and Cass went under cover as prostitutes to try and get intel from some gang members. They did this by seducing the girlfriends of the gang members with the info they needed about batman's where abouts. They did this cause the gang members where loyal to there girlfriends and wouldn't be seduced by the prostitutes.
While this was happening there was constant cuts to a naked Bruce Wayne and a fully clothed Raj being whipped.
