So You Need To Buy A Computer But You Don't Know What Specs Are Good These Days
Hi.
This is literally my job.
Lots of people are buying computers for school right now or are replacing computers as their five-year-old college laptop craps out so here's the standard specs you should be looking for in a (windows) computer purchase in August 2023.
PROCESSOR
Intel i5 (no older than 10th Gen)
Ryzen 7
You can get away with a Ryzen 5 but an intel i3 should be an absolute last resort. You want at least an intel i5 or a Ryzen 7 processor. The current generation of intel processors is 13, but anything 10 or newer is perfectly fine. DO NOT get a higher performance line with an older generation; a 13th gen i5 is better than an 8th gen i7. (Unfortunately I don't know enough about ryzens to tell you which generation is the earliest you should get, but staying within 3 generations is a good rule of thumb)
RAM
8GB absolute minimum
If you don't have at least 8GB RAM on a modern computer it's going to be very, very slow. Ideally you want a computer with at least 16GB, and it's a good idea to get a computer that will let you add or swap RAM down the line (nearly all desktops will let you do this, for laptops you need to check the specs for Memory and see how many slots there are and how many slots are available; laptops with soldered RAM cannot have the memory upgraded - this is common in very slim laptops)
STORAGE
256GB SSD
Computers mostly come with SSDs these days; SSDs are faster than HDDs but typically have lower storage for the same price. That being said: SSDs are coming down in price and if you're installing your own drive you can easily upgrade the size for a low cost. Unfortunately that doesn't do anything for you for the initial purchase.
A lot of cheaper laptops will have a 128GB SSD and, because a lot of stuff is stored in the cloud these days, that can be functional. I still recommend getting a bit more storage than that because it's nice if you can store your music and documents and photos on your device instead of on the cloud. You want to be able to access your files even if you don't have internet access.
But don't get a computer with a big HDD instead of getting a computer with a small SSD. The difference in speed is noticeable.
SCREEN (laptop specific)
Personally I find that touchscreens have a negative impact on battery life and are easier to fuck up than standard screens. They are also harder to replace if they get broken. I do not recommend getting a touch screen unless you absolutely have to.
A lot of college students especially tend to look for the biggest laptop screen possible; don't do that. It's a pain in the ass to carry a 17" laptop around campus and with the way that everything is so thin these days it's easier to damage a 17" screen than a 14" screen.
On the other end of that: laptops with 13" screens tend to be very slim devices that are glued shut and impossible to work on or upgrade.
Your best bet (for both functionality and price) is either a 14" or a 15.6" screen. If you absolutely positively need to have a 10-key keyboard on your laptop, get the 15.6". If you need something portable more than you need 10-key, get a 14"
FORM FACTOR (desktop specific)
If you purchase an all-in-one desktop computer I will begin manifesting in your house physically. All-in-ones take away every advantage desktops have in terms of upgradeability and maintenance; they are expensive and difficult to repair and usually not worth the cost of disassembling to upgrade.
There are about four standard sizes of desktop PC: All-in-One (the size of a monitor with no other footprint), Tower (Big! probably at least two feet long in two directions), Small Form Factor Tower (Very moderate - about the size of a large shoebox), and Mini/Micro/Tiny (Small! about the size of a small hardcover book).
If you are concerned about space you are much better off getting a MicroPC and a bracket to put it on your monitor than you are getting an all-in-one. This will be about a million percent easier to work on than an all-in-one and this way if your monitor dies your computer is still functional.
Small form factor towers and towers are the easiest to work on and upgrade; if you need a burly graphics card you need to get a full size tower, but for everything else a small form factor tower will be fine. Most of our business sales are SFF towers and MicroPCs, the only time we get something larger is if we have to put a $700 graphics card in it. SFF towers will accept small graphics cards and can handle upgrades to the power supply; MicroPCs can only have the RAM and SSD upgraded and don't have room for any other components or their own internal power supply.
WARRANTY
Most desktops come with either a 1 or 3 year warranty; either of these is fine and if you want to upgrade a 1 year to a 3 year that is also fine. I've generally found that if something is going to do a warranty failure on desktop it's going to do it the first year, so you don't get a hell of a lot of added mileage out of an extended warranty but it doesn't hurt and sometimes pays off to do a 3-year.
Laptops are a different story. Laptops mostly come with a 1-year warranty and what I recommend everyone does for every laptop that will allow it is to upgrade that to the longest warranty you can get with added drop/damage protection. The most common question our customers have about laptops is if we can replace a screen and the answer is usually "yes, but it's going to be expensive." If you're purchasing a low-end laptop, the parts and labor for replacing a screen can easily cost more than half the price of a new laptop. HOWEVER, the way that most screens get broken is by getting dropped. So if you have a warranty with drop protection, you just send that sucker back to the factory and they fix it for you.
So, if it is at all possible, check if the manufacturer of a laptop you're looking at has a warranty option with drop protection. Then, within 30 days (though ideally on the first day you get it) of owning your laptop, go to the manufacturer site, register your serial number, and upgrade the warranty. If you can't afford a 3-year upgrade at once set a reminder for yourself to annually renew. But get that drop protection, especially if you are a college student or if you've got kids.
And never, ever put pens or pencils on your laptop keyboard. I've seen people ruin thousand dollar, brand-new laptops that they can't afford to fix because they closed the screen on a ten cent pencil. Keep liquids away from them too.
LIFESPAN
There's a reasonable chance that any computer you buy today will still be able to turn on and run a program or two in ten years. That does not mean that it is "functional."
At my office we estimate that the functional lifespan of desktops is 5-7 years and the functional lifespan of laptops is 3-5 years. Laptops get more wear and tear than desktops and desktops are easier to upgrade to keep them running. At 5 years for desktops and 3 years for laptops you should look at upgrading the RAM in the device and possibly consider replacing the SSD with a new (possibly larger) model, because SSDs and HDDs don't last forever.
COST
This means that you should think of your computers as an annual investment rather than as a one-time purchase. It is more worthwhile to pay $700 for a laptop that will work well for five years than it is to pay $300 for a laptop that will be outdated and slow in one year (which is what will happen if you get an 8th gen i3 with 8GB RAM). If you are going to get a $300 laptop try to get specs as close as possible to the minimums I've laid out here.
If you have to compromise on these specs, the one that is least fixable is the processor. If you get a laptop with an i3 processor you aren't going to be able to upgrade it even if you can add more RAM or a bigger SSD. If you have to get lower specs in order to afford the device put your money into the processor and make sure that the computer has available slots for upgrade and that neither the RAM nor the SSD is soldered to the motherboard. (one easy way to check this is to search "[computer model] RAM upgrade" on youtube and see if anyone has made a video showing what the inside of the laptop looks like and how much effort it takes to replace parts)
Computers are expensive right now. This is frustrating, because historically consumer computer prices have been on a downward trend but since 2020 that trend has been all over the place. Desktop computers are quite expensive at the moment (August 2023) and decent laptops are extremely variably priced.
If you are looking for a decent, upgradeable laptop that will last you a few years, here are a couple of options that you can purchase in August 2023 that have good prices for their specs:
14" Lenovo - $670 - 11th-gen i5, 16GB RAM, and 512GB SSD
15.6" HP - $540 - 11th-gen i5, 16GB RAM, and 256GB SSD
14" Dell - $710 - 12th-gen i5, 16GB RAM, and 256GB SSD
If you are looking for a decent, affordable desktop that will last you a few years, here are a couple of options that you can purchase in August 2023 that have good prices for their specs:
SFF HP - $620 - 10th-gen i5, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD
SFF Lenovo - $560 - Ryzen 7 5000 series, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD
Dell Tower - $800 - 10th-gen i7, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD
If I were going to buy any of these I'd probably get the HP laptop or the Dell Tower. The HP Laptop is actually a really good price for what it is.
Anyway happy computering.

Top France cloud server at best price

As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, I don't have real-time information on specific cloud service providers or their current pricing. Cloud server prices can vary based on factors such as the provider, the type of server (e.g., virtual private server, dedicated server), the amount of resources (CPU, RAM, storage) you require, and any additional services or features.
However, some well-known cloud service providers that offer cloud servers and have a presence in France include:
Amazon Web Services (AWS): AWS is a leading global cloud platform with data centers in multiple regions, including France (Paris). They offer a wide range of cloud services, including virtual servers through Amazon EC2.
Microsoft Azure: Azure is Microsoft's cloud computing platform, and it provides a variety of services, including virtual machines, storage, and more. Azure has data centers in various regions, including France Cloud Server.
Google Cloud Platform (GCP): GCP is Google's cloud offering with services such as Compute Engine for virtual machines. GCP also has data centers in multiple regions, including Europe.
OVHcloud: OVHcloud is a European cloud provider with a strong presence in France. They offer a range of cloud services, including virtual private servers, dedicated servers, and more.
Scaleway: Scaleway is a cloud provider based in France, offering a variety of cloud services, including virtual instances, object storage, and more.
When looking for the "best price," it's important to consider your specific requirements, including the resources you need, the level of support required, and any additional features. Additionally, cloud providers often have pricing calculators on their websites that allow you to estimate the cost based on your usage patterns.
Keep in mind that the cloud computing landscape can change, and new providers or pricing models may emerge. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, it's recommended to visit the official websites of the providers mentioned above or other reputable cloud service providers that operate in the French region.

I’d love love love pt3 of streamergfvi! You write her so well <3
streamer!vi hcs christmas special

part 1 part 2
warnings: nsfw 18+, fem!reader
pictures are from pinterest and they're not mine
author’s note: I had to rewrite it twice because my shitty computer was acting up so i'm not fully happy about how it turned out but i really hope you like it. merry christmas pretties ♡
streamergfvi: who didn't really care about christmas decorations but found herself following around an hyper excited and bouncy powder, arms full to the brim with boxes, each one threatening to spill over with the glittery treasures it contained
She found herself trying to balance her weight as powder sat on her shoulders in front of the christmas tree hanging the decorations to it.
''pow the tree is gonna fall over if you add another one''
vi groaned wrinkling her nose as she tried to get one of powder's braid out of her face.
''shut up you grinch''
powder just huffed focused on the task of putting the little elf on top of the tree, the younger sibling stretching out trying to reach the highest part of the fir making vi almost lose balance stumbling a little to the side
''stop moving so much!''
''well if you weren't so short...''
''you are shorter than me''
the two bickered as vander stared at them leaning agaist the kitchen's door frame, arms crossed and a fond smile on his face.
streamergfvi: who is incredibly competitive about snowball fights. her and powder have a little feud. their backyard, a canvas of white, is a battleground of strategically placed forts made of snow and colorful winter gear scattered about like the aftermath of a whimsical blizzard.
Their rivalry is legendary, a spectacle that has been the highlight of winter for the past few years. The neighborhood kids gather around the fence, their breaths forming clouds of anticipation as they whisper about the impending clash of the snow titans.
This year, you've decided to join in the fun, throwing your hat into the ring with Powder. You've been watching their snowball battles from the sidelines, sipping on hot cocoa and offering moral support, but the time has come to immerse yourself in the frosty fray.
The moment the fight begins, it's clear that Vi isn't going to go down without a fight. She charges towards you and Powder, her snowball arsenal at the ready. As she hurls the first volley, you both dodge and retaliate, sending your own icy projectiles flying in her direction. The snow crunches under your boots as you run and duck, the cold sting of the snowflakes on your skin only adding to the thrill.
"Hey, pretty''
vi calls out, her voice a mix of teasing and challenge as she aims another perfectly-formed snowball at you.
"You think you can beat me with those little snow pebbles?"
"Oh, this year you are going down, shortie!"
Powder shouts back, her laughter ringing out like a bell in the crisp winter air.
But vi isn't one to be outdone. She takes advantage of your momentary distraction, and before you know it, she's sneaking up on you from behind.
"Gotcha!"
she exclaims as she tackles you to the ground, the impact sending up a cloud of powdery snow that surrounds you both.
You're laughing too hard to protest as she straddles you, her eyes sparkling with joy.
"Surrender, darling,"
she says, her breath warm on your cold cheek as she holds a snowball over your head.
"You know I'm the king of snowfights"
"Never!"
you reply, trying to push her off, your laughter turning into a playful growl. You wiggle and squirm, trying to break free from her firm grip, but she's too strong.
Powder, noticing your plight, hurls a snowball at Vi, which hits her square in the back.
"Cheap shot!" Vi yells, releasing you to retaliate.
This gives you the perfect opportunity to escape her grasp. You jump to your feet, a snowball in hand, and throw it back at her. It hits her right on the forehead, leaving a perfect white imprint.
"Oh, it's on now!"
she says, her eyes lighting up with excitement. She wipes the snow away, her grin unyielding. It ends up with you straddling her lap asking her to ''beg for mercy'' as powder fill her jacket with snow.
streamergfvi who never lose the change to push her hand in the back pocket of your pants even when you are out in public. And when you playfully glare at her she just
"What?" she give your ass a little squeeze feigning innocence.
"It's cold out here!"
"Well, if my pocket is such a warm sanctuary, I might just have to charge rent,"
you tease, giving her a sideways smirk. She rolls her eyes dramatically, but the smile that tugs at the corners of her mouth betrays her feigned annoyance.
"Rent, huh?"
she says, her voice a low purr as she leans closer, her breath ghosting against your cheek.
"What's the going rate for such prime real estate?"
"Oh, I don't know," you muse, playing along.
"Maybe a kiss for every squeeze?"
Her eyes widen for a moment, as if surprised by my boldness, before she laughs heartily, her whole body shaking with the sound.
"Is that a deal, then?"
The crowd bustles around you, a mix of laughter, chatter, and distant car horns.
"Only if you promise to keep your hands to yourself in public,"
you say, though your voice is laden with affection.
Her hand retreats from your pocket, but only to slide around your waist, pulling you closer.
"You drive a hard bargain," she murmurs, her voice dropping to a whisper that only I can hear. "but it's worth it for that ass."
your laughter rings out again, a sound that never fails to make vi smile. She presses her cheek against your shoulder, her arms tightening around me.
"I'll be good," she promises, her breath warm against your neck.
"For now."
streamergfvi: who hates christmas songs but always ends up humming them whenever she gets lost in thoughts. When the two of you are alone, you can't help but laugh at the sight of her mouthing the lyrics. It's like watching a grumpy cat wearing a Santa hat. And when she catches you watching, she'll blush, a little embarrassed.
So, you lean in and whisper,
"You secretly love it,"
and she rolls her eyes
''shut up''
streamergfvi: who never lose the chance whenever the first notes of "All I Want for Christmas is You" waft through the air from some distant holiday playlist and you two are together, to mouths the words "All I want for Christmas is you,", a smug grin on her face as she points at you
streamergfvi: who is addicted to hot chocolate, it gets to the point it's almost concerning, the moment the first snowflake graces the ground, she's in full-on hot cocoa mode. She has collection of mugs that would put Santa's workshop to shame. marshmallows of every shape and size, whipped cream in canisters, and an assortment of chocolate chips that could fill a stocking.
But what she love even more is drinking it with you (she secretly adds more whipped cream to your mug just to make it more difficult for you to drink it without getting some on yourself)
You took a sip, trying to be dainty about it, but the whipped cream was just too tempting. It clung to your upper lip, a sweet little mustache that vi found absolutely adorable. She couldn't help but let out a soft giggle as she set her own mug down and leaned in. Her eyes sparkled with mischief, and her warm breath brushed against your skin as she tenderly licked the whipped cream from your nose. Her smirk widened into a grin, and you felt your cheeks flush.
You decided to play along, you leaned in closer, your sweet breath mingling as you looked at her battling your eyelishes
''thank you baby''
you whispered and you knew you've got her where you wanted by the way her breath hitched and her eyes gazed hungrily at your shiny lips. you let her almost close the gap but as soon as her lips brushed against yours, you pushed your finger, that you previously used to scoop some whipped cream, against her cheek pulling yourself back
"Two can play at this game,"
you whispered, a mischievous glint in your gaze.
gently, you traced the line of the whipped cream from her cheek to the corner of her mouth, painting a sweet path that you couldn't wait to follow. Her eyes still locked on yours, as you slowly briought your finger closer to your own mouth. With an exaggerated show of temptation, you sucked the whipped cream off, savoring the taste as it lingered on your tongue.
"Mmm, you taste so sweet''
her eyes flashed with need and you suddendly found yourself pulled onto her lap as she kissed you passionately
''i'm gonna cover you in whipped cream and lick you clean''
she whispered in your ear
streamergfvi: who let you convince her to wear matching christmas hairband for her christmas stream special.
You were casually lounging on her bed, your fingers dancing across the screen of your phone, searching for some holiday inspiration to sprinkle onto vi's upcoming Christmas stream special when a pop up advertisement caught your eye, a picture of candy cane-themed hairbands.
you looked at vi seated across from you, her back against the bed's headstand while she edited a video for her youtube channel on her lapton perched over her lap, you couldn't help but giggle imagining how she would look wearing it.
vi tore her gaze from the screen of her laptop and arched an eyebrow at you, a small smile curling her lips
''what's so funny?''
she asked as you pulled yourself up to sit on your knees in front of her and held the phone up in front of her. She let her eyes roam over the screen before a smirk formed on her face.
''Yes''
she said without even thinking about it
''yes?'' you asked surprised
''yes you would look incredibly cute in one of this, you want me to buy you one?''
you rolled your eyes
''I want us to wear it, for your christmas stream special''
Vi couldn't help but chuckle at the suggestion, a playful glint in her eyes as she took in the image of the candy cane hairbands.
She leaned forward, setting aside her laptop, and reached for the phone to get a closer look. "You want us to match?" she teased, her voice filled with amusement.
"Come on," you said with a grin
''what about my reputation? the chat is gonna give me hell about it''
you just pouted knowing full well she couldn't resist you ready to hit her with your secret convincing weapon
''please violet? please please please'
you looked at her battling your eyelishes and pushing yourself closer to her
''not fair'' she mumbles trying not to look at you as a blush painted her cheeks.
and that's how she found herself in front of the camera, a pair of candy cane-themed hairbands on her head and a scowl on her face as she read the chat. You giggling seated on her lap.
@/Ekk0: man bat your eyes three times if you are in danger
@/piltiespinerc: vi looks like an evil elf
@/sevikunt: she is also as short as an elf
streamergfvi: who runs as hot as a radiator and streams in a pair of grinch boxer and fuzzy socks set you gifted her and her hoodie. whenever you sleep together during winter it's like a battlefield because she pushes the blankets away in her sleep and you always need to pull them back up.
As the night wears on, the dance of the blankets continues. You, the recipient of her warmth, are engaged in a silent tug-of-war as she unconsciously kicks them off, leaving you exposed to the cold. Your limbs, accustomed to the warm sanctuary provided by the blanket fortress, scurry to pull the covers back up. The fabric whispers and shifts as you both adjust, trying to find a balance between your thermal preferences.
With a sleepy groan that is both endearing and exasperated, she rolls over, her eyes fluttering open just enough to reveal a sliver of hazy awareness. In one swift movement, she abandons the battle of the blankets, opting instead to use her own body as a human comforter. Her form, now a warm, heavy weight, settles over yours like a contented cat. Her head finds its place in the crook of your neck, her breath a gentle warmth against your skin.
Her words, muffled by the pillow and the weight of sleep, are a declaration of warmth and affection.
"Fuck the blankets,"
she murmurs,
"I can warm you up just fine."
And with that, she wraps her limbs around you, effectively trapping your body in a cocoon of love and heat. The battlefield of blankets is forgotten as you both sink into the warm embrace she offers, the chilly winter night outside now just a distant memory. The room feels smaller, but the bed feels infinitely cozier with her sprawled over you, her heartbeat a steady rhythm against your chest.
streamergfvi: who can't keep her hands to herself when you surprise her opening the door of your apartment in a elf costume. Vi mentioned to you once that she thought you would look really fucking cute in an elf costume and today you decided to surprise her. As the door to your apartment swings open vi's eyes widen in surprise and pure, unadulterated lust as she takes in the sight of you. Her gaze lingers on the curve of your hips, the swell of your breasts peeking out from the tight green fabric, and the playful jingle of the bells adorning your hat and shoes.
"Look what Santa left me,"
she murmurs, the corner of her mouth quirking up in a knowing smile.
Before you can even answer, she's already closing the distance between you, her hands finding their way to your hips as she pulls you in for a passionate kiss. Your heart races as you feel her strong arms around you, the warmth of her body pressing against your own. The kiss deepens, her tongue exploring your mouth as if it's a place she's missed dearly. You melt into her embrace, letting out a content sigh.
Breaking the kiss, she looks into your eyes, a playful glint in her own.
"I think someone's been a very naughty elf," she whispers, her voice thick with desire.
Without another word, she scoops you up and carries you into the kitchen, setting you effortlessly onto the cool kitchen counter. The suddenness of it all makes your heart race and your breath hitch in your throat. Your legs instinctively part to allow her closer, and she takes full advantage, stepping between them. Her eyes never leave yours as she leans in, the heat of her breath ghosting over your skin. Her voice is a low, seductive growl,
Her hands are everywhere, tracing the lines of your body with a familiarity that sends shivers down your spine. She runs her thumbs along the hem of your costume, pushing it up slightly to reveal more of your bare thighs. You can't help but whimper at the sensation, your body already responding to her touch.
Her mouth is a searing brand as it trails down your neck, leaving a path of kisses and nips that make you arch into her.
You lean back, supporting yourself on your elbows as she works her way down, her mouth leaving a trail of fire in its wake. You can feel her hot breath against your skin, and it makes you squirm with anticipation.
''fuck violet please''
you moan throwing your head back
Her mouth finds its way to the apex of your thighs, and she kisses you through the thin barrier of your costume, making you squirm with need. The sound of the fabric tearing is music to your ears as she decides she's had enough of the foreplay and dives in, her tongue meeting your skin with a hunger that matches your own.
You grip the counter's edge, your knuckles turning white as she works her magic. The world around you fades away, replaced by the feel of her tongue swirling around your clit, her fingers pressing inside you, and the sweet, sweet friction that builds with each movement.
Your hips buck against her mouth, and she chuckles against your skin, sending vibrations through your core that make you shiver.
You're lost in a haze of pleasure, unable to form coherent thoughts beyond the desperate need for more.
Her rhythm is relentless, each stroke and suck bringing you closer to the edge. You're panting now, your hips rocking against her face as you chase that elusive peak. And when you finally reach it, it's like a starburst of sensation, leaving you trembling and gasping for air. She doesn't stop, though, continuing to kiss and lick until you're a boneless, quivering mess, your legs wrapped around her neck, holding her in place.
she smiles as soon you free her from the hand that had been gripping her hair, your legs relaxing allowing her to push her head back.
''I didn't know we were going for a naughty North Pole theme tonight."
streamergfvi: who asked you to celebrate christmas eve with her, vander and powder knowing you haven't talked to your homophobic family in years and would have probably spent christmas in your apartment alone.
After the icredibly delicious dinner vander cooked, for the first time in your life you felt like you finally belonged as you watched vi and powder wrestle over the remote cotrol of the tv while they bickered about the movie to watch.
''powder we are watching gremlins''
powder tried to reach the remote as vi stretched her arm in the air to prevent her from taking it.
''I'm not watching that stupid movie again''
violet smirked watching powder struggle
''why is that? you think you'll get scared and snuck in my bed in the middle of the night like when you were five''
powder jumped glaring at vi offended
''shut up that was one time''
as you watched them bicker some more you felt the tears fill up the corners of your eyes. ''maybe christmas isn't so bad'' you thought to yourself offering a small content smile to vi when she glanced at you.
streamergfvi: After you watched ''Home Alone'' (yes you teamed up with powder against vi) you and vi went to vi's room to exchange presents.
Her eyes sparkled with excitement as you fumbled in your bag, your hands slightly trembling. You had been carrying around the little blue box for what felt like an eternity, the weight of it feeling heavier than any burden you had ever known. Inside was a set of shiny silver keys, attached to a keychain that had a tiny, delicate heart.
Finally, with a deep breath, you pulled out the box and placed it in her hand.
"Merry Christmas, Violet"
you said, trying to keep my voice steady, your heart thudding in your chest like a drum at a parade. She looked at you, a hint of curiosity playing at the corners of her mouth, her eyes searching myours for a clue of what could possibly be hidden within the wrapping.
Vi gently tore open the paper, her movements deliberate, savoring the moment. The box revealed itself, and she lifted the lid with a soft gasp. Her eyes widened as she took in the sight of the keys, her thumb tracing the heart-shaped charm.
"What's this?"
she whispered, her voice filled with a mix of surprise and hope.
"It's… it's a spare set of my apartment keys,"
You began, the words tumbling out of my mouth faster than you could control.
"I want you to have them because… because I want you to move in with me. I know it's a big step, but I can't imagine my life without you in it, and oh god i had this speech prepared but i don't know i just I love you and i guess a want to wake up to you every morning and fall asleep together every night...''
The room seemed to hold its breath as she looked at the keys, then back at you.
The silence stretched out, feeling like a tightrope walk over a canyon. And then, she broke into the most radiant smile, her eyes brimming with unshed tears.
"Holy shit, really?"
she asked, and you couldn't help but let out a giggle.
"Really,"
you affirmed, taking her hand in yours.
"I want to come home to you every night, to wake up to your messy hair and the smell of burnt toast in the morning. I want to share our lives, our space, and our future."
Vi looked at you, her gaze unwavering, and then she threw her arms around me, the keys dangling from her hand as you hugged tightly.
"fuck yes,"
she murmured into your neck.
"I'd love to move in with you."
you spent the rest of the night cuddling in her bed, hands interlocked as you talked about your future together, a pair of silver matching rings she gifted you glinting in the dim light of her room. And as the snow continued to fall outside, painting the world in a fresh coat of white, you knew that with Vi by my side, this was going to be the best Christmas yet.

UR UPTOWN GIRL RIFF BOT IS SO GOOD WTF??!!
anyway thinking about riff seeing reader’s room for the first time and making fun of her for being so girly:( i need him so bad
Ugh he’d be such a dick about it :((
Inspecting all your stuff even after you warned him to be careful because ‘my daddy can’t know you’ve been in here, Riff.’ (You bet your ass he was taking advantage of your old man’s business trip to see where you come from.) “It’s like a damn unicorn blew up in here, girly.”
He’s exaggerating. There’s just a little bit of pink. Cotton-candy walls, pink sheets, pink rug, bunny stuffies on your bed… okay, yeah, maybe there’s more than a little. But cut him some slack! He’s never been near a room that looks like yours before, not even when he’d snuck into the ladies bathroom on nights out at the bar. (How does a bathroom smell like flowers? Makes no damn sense.) Everything smells of you; expensive perfumes, fancy skincare products, your lil’ lotions and creams that littered your dresser. He’s pretty damn certain even your underwear drawer is a pastel pink… although he’s a little more interested in what’s inside it than the exterior.
He’s in frilly, uptown girl heaven right now. Eyeing up framed photos of you when you were a little girl wearing sparkly tiaras and princess dresses, making jokes about you being his pretty lil’ princess now. Taking pleasure in the fact your cheeks are just as pink as the rest of the room as he ridicules you for your choice in decor.
You’ve never been to his apartment, but you imagine it’s an absolute tip. So really, he has no room to judge. Except…
“I mean, c’mon. Ain’t you ever grow out of this stuff? S’like you wanna prove to the whole world you’re a girl. We all know you’ve got a—”
“Riff,” you cut him off, shielding your face in embarrassment.
“What? I’m just sayin'! I've seen under your skirt,” he says, raising his hands in mock innocence as he sinks down onto your bed. He has no qualms about making himself at home, arms spread out and getting comfortable between your embroidered pillows. He looks so fucking out of place next to the little teddy bear with the white bowtie you sleep with every night.
A mischievous grin, and he’s reaching for it to turn it around, fluffy little face directed away from your four-poster bed. God, he could get used to this. It's like he's laying on a fluffy cloud. Can't feel a single spring digging into his spine for once in his life.
“Leave him alone,” you protest, reaching for the bear, only for him to catch your wrist. It’s cute, how you use damn pronouns for a stuffed toy. Like you aren't grown and done awful, terrible things with him before. And speaking of…
“I’m just lookin' out for him, girly girl,” he insists, pulling you closer with the grip on your wrist until you’re hovering above him. A hairsbreadth away from his face, crooked grin in place. “Don’t want him to see what we’re about to get up to, do we? Poor, innocent bear…"
It takes your brain a moment to compute that, and then—
Oh. Oh. Okay. Yeah... good thinking.

Foxfire ROS
After playing Foxfire for 9 rounds I've started to feel like I could use something to nudge me out of my routines a bit! For the next round, I'm going to try how adding random scenarios to the mix feels like 😁
I didn't find any existing scenario lists to be exactly what I wanted: more gameplay prompts that leave room for interpretation, and not so many strict rules or tasks or forced drama (my sims create enough of that as it is lol).
So I cherry-picked some scenarios that I liked, edited others, and created many new ones. A shout-out to @kayleigh-83 for this list that was a great starting point!
Night out: Visit a community lot after dark.
Bring your own basket: Visit a park with family or friends.
Movie marathon: Invite friends over for movies and snacks, or go on a movie binge by yourself.
Family matters: Invite over a relative or someone you share a similar bond with.
Fits like a glove: Wear a new accessory.
Games night: Set up a board game or fire up a console for an evening. PC owners can throw a lan party.
Burn off steam: Devote a day to exercising in any form.
Playing hooky: A child or teen skips one school day.
Online friends: Spend an evening chatting over the internet.
Fence-mending: Talk to a walkby you don't know or have a low relationship with.
Fertile ground: Get a new plant to your garden or other outdoor area.
Pulling strings: Use influence to your advantage.
Tired of cooking: Order delivery for a meal.
Peculiar flavor: The sim with the least cooking points takes the cooking turn.
Sprucing up: Choose a room or space and give it a facelift.
Touch base: Call the friend you currently have the lowest relationship score with.
Dine out: Eat at a restaurant.
New hobby: Try out a hobby you haven't explored before.
Broken record: Talk about your favorite hobby to every sim you encounter during one day.
Slumber party: Invite friends for a sleepover.
Power outage: Turn off all the lights except for candles and only make uncooked meals for a day.
Cloud over a head: Argue with every sim you encounter during one day.
Old gang: Meet up with the friends you have known for the longest.
Turn up the heat: Woohoo in public.
New ink: Get a tattoo.
Fresh air: Spend a day outdoors.
Homebody: Spend a day indoors.
Got the moves: Visit a community lot to hit the dance floor or turn on a stereo at home and dance until you run out of energy.
Make the bed: Change sheets for all beds on the lot.
Health concerns: Visit or call over a doctor.
All things are transient: Sell three objects.
Odd bottle: Consume a potion from your inventory.
Dig it: Spend a day treasure hunting.
Capture it: Take a picture and hang it on the wall.
Running on fumes: Have a cup of coffee once every few hours.
Reaching enlightenment: Meditate for a day.
Sugar rush: Prepare only desserts for a day.
Clocking extra time: Spend an evening on a computer either blogging, writing, or giving financial advice.
Dressed to the nines: Go on a date in formalwear.
Pretty lights: The outdoor areas of the lot are filled with fireflies for the round.
School assignment: A child or teen collects bugs for the round.
Stealing the show: Perform with an instrument or a microphone, freestyle for tips, or breakdance in public.
Devil on a shoulder: Prank every sim you encounter during one day.
Turning the page: Negative relationship effects are reduced for 48 hours and any existing fury states are cleared (get the 'forgiving' vacation benefit).
Meeting deadlines: Job performance is increased for 48 hours (get the 'industrious' vacation benefit).
Hot stuff: The attractiveness is increased for 48 hours (get the 'je ne sais quoi' vacation benefit).
On the ball: Skill, talent badge, and homework rates are increased for 48 hours (get the 'refreshed' vacation benefit).
Scatterbrained: Skill, talent badge, and homework rates are decreased for 48 hours (get the 'jetlagged' vacation penalty).
Bonfire night: Light up a bonfire with family or with friends.
Explosive entertainment: Throw a party with fireworks.
By example: Share hobby tips or instruct someone in a hobby, or find a sim who can share tips or instruct you in one.
Score points: Visit a community lot to play arcade games, poker, don't wake the llama, mahjong, or myshuno.
Self-care: Skilling is forbidden for a day. Instead, practice recovering activities like taking bubble baths, enjoying hot tubs or hot springs, getting massages, relaxing in saunas, or sunbathing.
Feeling chipper: Compliment every sim you encounter during one day.
I'll probably add these whenever I come up with new ones. Scenario ideas are welcome!
#text post#foxfire forest#ts2#the sims 2#sims 2#*appears out of nowhere to post this*#i hope these will be fun!#i left out some obvious ones like changing clothes or hairstyle#as i tend to plan those in body shop

Chronicles of a Second Chance
Chapter Two: The Coming Storm
Over the next few years, your days were consumed by the slow, frustrating process of growing up again. Every milestone—rolling over, crawling, walking—felt like an eternity to achieve. But each step brought you closer to the moment you could truly act.
Your parents’ eccentric, but surprisingly nice, lifestyle gave you plenty of time to think. They homeschooled you early, focusing on meditation, nature walks, and ‘spiritual enlightenment,’ which left you free to secretly plan and scheme.
You learned quickly, and guiltily, how to leverage their beliefs to your advantage. Want a telescope to ‘study the stars’? They were thrilled to buy one, thinking it was a sign of your spiritual growth. Need a computer for ‘educational purposes’? Done. Books on different fields such as astronomy, biology, and even mechanics (though that one was harder to score until you brought up that greenhouse maintenance was mechanical in nature) were quickly thrown your way and you devoured each one, eager to gain all the knowledge that you could to help you on your chosen path. They were so proud for having such a smart child who was so interested in the world around them that they never seemed to pause and question how it was you could read such high-level things so early on.
By the time you were four, you’d built up a surprising amount of knowledge about the world you now inhabited. The Witwicky’s were local, living just a few neighbourhoods over. You still met up with Judy and Sam in the park, more than happy to force them to spend time with you and your little oddball family. Sam was always excited to come by and run around the grassy playground with you, listening in quiet rapture as you told stories about the stars so high above. About crystal cities on a foreign planet that towered as high as Earth's mountains and giant metallic titans that could transform and race one another at speeds, humans could never reach.
When you turned five, the next milestone was reached. A new member joined your little duo when you both started school. Miles Lancaster. A boy who enjoyed climbing trees like he was part squirrel and had a fascination with the aeroplanes and jets that were always flying by high in the sky.
Your little trio formed quickly, bound together by a shared sense of wonder and curiosity. Sam’s bright enthusiasm and Miles’ daring spirit complemented your careful, calculating approach to everything. Together, you explored every corner of your small town, finding adventure in the mundane.
At school, you were the quiet, precocious one. Teachers praised your intelligence, often amazed by how you absorbed information like a sponge. Miles was the class clown, always with a quick joke or a mischievous grin. Sam, eager to please, floated somewhere between, charming everyone with his genuine friendliness. The three of you were inseparable.
When you weren’t in class, you’d lead your friends on “missions.” These were often elaborate scavenger hunts or explorations of the wooded areas on the outskirts of your property. Armed with toy compasses, flashlights, and Sam’s overstuffed backpack, you’d spend hours pretending to be explorers in some alien world, capturing bugs and bringing home random stones you found. To you, it wasn’t entirely pretend. You’d tell stories about planets beyond the stars, weaving intricate tales that left Sam and Miles hanging on your every word.
“Do you think there really could be aliens out there?” Sam asked one day, lying on the grass of the school playground and staring up at the clouds.
“Definitely,” you said without hesitation. “The universe is too big for us to be alone. Maybe they’re watching us right now, waiting for the right moment to say hello.”
Miles propped himself up on one elbow, his wide eyes brimming with excitement. “What if they’re giant? Like... skyscraper tall! And they can shapeshift! That’d be awesome. Imagine riding on one who could turn into a dragon!”
You smirked, mind wandering briefly to Predaking and how cool it would be to ride on the giant metallic dragon. “That would be cool.”
______________
Life had settled into an odd but comfortable rhythm by the time you turned sixteen. Sam, Miles, and you had grown from wild kids with boundless imaginations to teens with an unshakable bond. It was a gift you refused to squander even when you wanted to strangle the two boys when their more stupid or perverted habits started up.
Speaking of – you watched with a roll of your eyes as Sam openly stared in admiration from his desk as Mikaela Banes walked by. You could understand it of course, Mikaela was quite the pretty girl with the popularity and smarts to match. Had you actually been a sixteen-year-old, instead of mentally in your thirties, you might have even crushed on her too. Instead, you just sat in the background with Miles, internally shaking your head at how dumb Sam suddenly became around her.
What you wouldn’t do for a good glass of liquor to burn away the feeling of second-hand embarrassment right now. You were pretty sure Rowan’s latest batch of kombucha had accidently fermented too much. If you had been home, you would have downed it without a second thought. What a shame that instead you were forced to attend the farce that was high school all over again instead of lounging comfortably in the hammock strung up in your room.
Once more despairing over your new physical age and its setbacks, you pulled out your notebook and pen ready to get today's history lesson over with.
Ever since the year had started, you had greeted each history class with a mixed feeling of apprehension and anticipation. Every day that passed brought you closer to the assignment that would become the catalyst for the horror show that would be the rest of your lives. The feelings had only grown once Sam had revealed closer to the beginning of the new semester that his father had cut him a deal about getting a new car if he could earn $2,000 and three A’s.
The future assignment that haunted your thoughts was a simple one on the surface: a family history project. Every junior was required to present a detailed report about a member from their ancestry, showcasing photos, keepsakes, or personal anecdotes. While you only had a vague idea of what to do for yours, you knew what this would mean for Sam.
In the next few days, his father would drag out the old family heirlooms. The faded photograph of Archibald Witwicky, the map, and most importantly, the glasses -- proof of the mad man’s claims of seeing mechanical beings on an icebound expedition, even if no one else knew it yet. Sam would present these with teenage disdain, joking about his family’s kooky past. He would get a, rather undeserved in your opinion, A- on his project.
The third A needed to seal the deal.
You twirled your pen idly, your mind drifting away from the droning lecture. History class felt like a cruel joke when you already knew how history would unfold. The arrival of Bumblebee, the resurrection of Megatron (did it count as a resurrection if he wasn’t actually dead but frozen in place?), and the chaos of the AllSpark drama—it all loomed over you like a storm cloud.
"Are you even listening?" Miles whispered from his seat beside you, nudging your arm.
You blinked, shaking off your thoughts. "Of course. Mr. Graham is enthralling as always."
Miles snorted, clearly not convinced. "Sure you are. You looked like you were planning world domination or something."
"If only," you muttered as you focused in on what Mr. Graham was saying. You were pretty certain that world domination would be much easier than trying to come up with a bajillion plans on how to alter future actions on not only humans but giant aliens as well so that everything came out with the least amount of loss possible.
Yeah world domination was a nice thought in comparison even if you didn’t actually care for ruling anything.
It was hard to decide how to feel about it, you mused as you watched Mr. Graham pace back and forth continuing with the lecture half of today's lesson. On one hand, the thought of seeing Optimus Prime and the Autobots in person was exhilarating. On the other, you knew the devastation that would follow. Cybertron’s war wouldn’t stay in the shadows anymore.
It would come here, to Earth, leaving destruction in its wake.
“All right, everyone,” Mr. Graham began, dropping a stack onto his desk with a heavy thud, startling you once more from your thoughts. “I hope you’ve been paying attention, because today I’m assigning your first major project of the semester: family history. In college you will need to know how to research—”
Your stomach twisted as the words hit you.
It was starting.
______________
The bell rang, signalling the end of your last class for the day. You gathered your things, your movements automatic as your mind raced. How could you alter the course of events? You couldn’t stop Sam from presenting the heirlooms without raising suspicion. Even if you tried, fate seemed to have a way of ensuring these events played out. But perhaps, just perhaps, you could prepare for the fallout.
As you stepped into the crowded hallway, Sam bounded up to you, grinning ear to ear as his fingers flew over the keyboard on his phone. "Hey! Nova! Guess what? My dad says there's some family heirlooms in the attic I can use for the history project. He says I’ll find something 'super cool.' Knowing him it’ll be some piece of junk that his nature won’t let him get rid of.”
Your stomach twisted, though you forced a casual smile. "Sounds fun. Let me know if you find any hidden treasures."
Miles sidled up, throwing an arm around Sam’s shoulders. "If you find some old pirate gold, you better split it three ways."
Sam laughed. "Yeah, right. I’ll sell it all and get that car."
"Good luck with that," you said, feigning amusement as dread continued to curl in your chest. Wrapping its dark vines around your heart and mind, squeezing painfully even as you tried to hold it back with the meditation techniques you had learned from your parents.
The weekend, along with the due date, would fast approach, and with it, hopefully, the beginning of the end of the war. If you wanted to change the future, you’d have to act soon. There was just one problem.
You still hadn’t settled on a course of action.
That night, you sat in your room, staring at the cluttered desk before you. The telescope, the scribbled-in notebooks, the textbooks—all the tools you’d painstakingly collected over the years. They weren’t enough, you were certain of it.
Grabbing a sheet of paper, you began to sketch out another plan. You weren’t certain anyone, bot or human, could count high enough for how many plans you’d made and discarded over the years. You couldn’t stop the storm, but you could be the eye within it.
First, you need to keep track of the glasses. Once Sam unearthed them and posted them online to sell, there was no turning back. Though, you thought as you chewed on the eraser end of your pencil, you supposed you could try and convince him not to sell them. It’s not like he managed to do so in the movie so it wouldn’t affect him getting a new car.
But it would affect whether or not any of the Cybertronians found him. After all, it was that posting that alerted both the Autobots and the Decepticons to his existence.
You paused.
Had it been? You suddenly weren’t so certain that was the case. After all, how had Bumblebee known to be at the car lot that day? It was true the yellow Autobot was a scout and was likely equipped with all sorts of spy-like equipment to keep watch without being discovered. Especially by unsuspecting not-yet-in-the-loop humans. So, it was entirely possible that he had found Sam through the eBay posting and then stalked him for the next few days where he would overhear about Ron helping Sam buy a car.
But how had he known the exact car lot they were going to buy it on? He had, after all, been already parked and waiting when Sam and Ron had shown up. Maybe Ron and Judy talked about it? Or perhaps Ron looked up the lot online, choosing the cheapest-looking place he possibly could. That…. sounded exactly like the frugal man you thought. For an advanced robot-like alien, it would be all too easy to overhear Sam’s excitement about getting a new car and then hack the computer system to see where exactly they were going, and then place himself in that location as inconspicuously as he could manage.
In the movies and books, the Cybertronians abilities had seemed so cool. Now you couldn’t help but curse Primus for their every ability given that made your life so much harder.
You groaned and resisted the urge to pull out some of your hair, instead forcing yourself to move on.
Secondly, you had to prepare for the Autobots themselves. You’d memorized their arrival timeline, (Kind of. You knew that Bumblebee showed up first and then Optimus, Ironhide, Ratchet, and Jazz came a few days later. After that you weren’t entirely certain how much time passed before the other Autobots came to Earth.) but interacting with them was a whole other challenge. How would you convince them to do certain things without revealing that you were from a different dimension?
Your hand stilled, the pencil hovering over the page. Optimus Prime would listen. He had to. If he didn’t believe in you then nothing would go right. If you did anything wrong, then they might decide you were compromised, a spy for the Decepticons. Would lock you up and throw away the key and you would lose your two closest friends and your new family, and gods above you might not fully agree with all of Rowan and Sage’s spiritually free child thinking or Sam and Mile’s stupid hormonal teenage thoughts, but they were still yours, and you would be devasted to lose any one of them.
Failure was not an option.
So, you planned to the best of your abilities. Even knowing that you would have to make things up on the fly because if you changed one thing then effects would ripple through whether you wanted them to or not.
For example, if you convinced Jazz not to attack Megatron on his own then he would potentially survive the Mission City battle. But then if he didn’t distract Megatron who knows what the warlord would do instead? Would he have fought Optimus sooner? Would he have managed to get his claws on the AllSpark by getting to Sam before he could get to that building? And even if Jazz didn’t distract Megatron, there was no guarantee that he wouldn’t die at the very same battle later, or even be killed on a different mission entirely.
The possibilities were endless.
With a loud thunk, your head banged onto your desk. Somehow the brief flash of physical pain didn’t counteract the massive stress migraine you were building.
You could already hear Sage lecturing you about potentially damaging your third eye as you banged your head again and again. You paused mid-bang when a thought crossed your mind.
The third eye.
A supposedly spiritual spot on the middle of your forehead that allowed one to see visions gifted to them by either a god of some sort or their higher self. It also could be used to tell the future.
You sat straight up, eyes narrowing. There was no way that would work…would it? You had been so focused on scientific answers that you never once considered whether or not you could provide some more spiritual ones. You didn’t have to be told that it was a bad idea for anyone to know that you came from another world. Hells bells it probably wasn’t a good idea for them to think you could see the future either, but it was a possibility you could consider.
After all the future was always changing.
A dinging noise on your computer brought you out of your thoughts. Glancing over you realized it was an email notification from eBay. Your heart stuttered before stopping entirely as you opened it.
Ladiesman217 has uploaded new items for sale!
Your second childhood was over.
The war was coming, whether you were ready for it or not. You somehow managed to resist the urge to cry, but it was a close thing.

FARAWAY TOWN, 200X
You always liked the peaceful and mundane environment of this place. It's the place you've spent most of your spring breaks in, visiting your grandparents and playing games on their fourth generation computer. The roads are never full of traffic, stray kittens are always at your disposal to pet and each house has its own front yard.
The weather in FARAWAY TOWN is mild, sunny for the most part, the clouds above your head white and fluffy and the grass under your feet bright green and freshly mowed.
Since you've grown out of carelessly playing with your Hot Wheels and bored of rebuilding the same Lego sets over and over again, you decided it's time for a detour at the nostalgic town of your childhood.
As I said, it's quiet and uneventful here... almost. Your grandma kept you up to date with the tragic death of a young girl, four years ago. A suicide that stains the backyard of one of the utopic looking houses.
A shame.
Still, as much as you may be fond of this little town, you don't know its residents all that well. Maybe your detour will change that. You could use some company...
A fresh tee, shoes, keys, a few coins and you're out of the door.
Luckily, everything is within walking distance, so it's easy for you to plan a route for today's outing in your head.
OTHERMART is your first destination of the day. Last time you were here the shop was much smaller. It must've been expanded and you're definitely not complaining about it. You buy two cans of lemonade and some discounted snacks.
After exiting the shop, you debate on whether you should sit by the fountain or walk all the way to FARAWAY PARK, but the thought of enjoying your snacks while being surrounded by nature wins. FARAWAY PARK it is! The possibilities of meeting people are also more favourable in the park.
As you get closer and closer to it, you start hearing birds chirping, kids laughing and yelling, even the occasional bark of some dog. You're tempted to give the venting machines on the entrance a go, but you've used all you had on your snacks and soft drinks.
To your surprise though, it's not just shouts of joy and laughter that can be heard...
"Creep!!!"
Your curiosity is peaked and before you know it, your legs have already carried you to where the -not so happy- shouts are coming from.
The scene in front of you is upsetting to say the least. Six kids your age have surrounded a short boy, who is hugging himself while whimpering, while the pink-haired girl of the group keeps hurling offences his way.
Your chest tightens. This is wrong. You don't know what the full story behind this whole ordeal is, but bullying is certainly not the way to deal with it.
Your height has always made you appear older than you really are and in this moment of havoc, you decide to use this advantage of yours to end this poor boy's suffering. Keeping your strides confident and determined, you get next to the pink-haired girl, placing a hand on her shoulder. You want to appear intimidating.
AUBREY jumps slightly at the unexpected contact and you seize the opportunity to talk first.
"Don't you have anything fucking better to do?!"
She does look furious, but still a bit startled.
"W- what d- did you say?!"
"I'm sure you heard me the first time! Six to one?! Are you really such a big jerk?!"
Some of the kids in her group have turned red in the face, or are avoiding looking your way. That's good. You're not looking for a full blown out fight anyway.
But what are you doing then? Meeting people like your initial goal was? No. You're defending this blonde boy.
Fortunately, after some angry glares and muttered curses, the group retreats from the park. The girl with the pink hair is the last to go.
"We're not done!"
You can't help but roll your eyes at her over the top, tough nut to crack persona. It doesn't matter that much though, she's walking away now and you're left with the victim of her fury.
Despite his stature, he must be your peer. He has fluffy, blond hair with a pink flower tucked behind his ear. He's wearing a green sweater vest over a white button-up shirt, beige shorts and black shoes. It's clear as day that he's a shy one, with a dose of insecurity -based on his body language-.
His teal eyes are kind. The blue in them is so light that they almost look like they're made out of glass... or the glass-like effect is due to how he's still sniffling and wiping tears off his delicate face. He's beautiful, fragile looking.
Have you been staring? Oops-
You don't want to make him feel any worse. AUBREY made him feel trashy enough.
"Thank you..."
His voice is shaky and soft. You nod in response. Oh gosh, you don't have it in you to leave him alone after what he just went through.
"Don't mention it..."
A pinkish blush surfaces on his cheeks and he starts fidgeting with the hem of his sweater vest.
"I- I- I... You really shouldn't have bothered with me... But I'm grateful for the way you interfered. Really."
"Told you it wasn't any trouble. Now, now... What's your name?"
"I'm BASIL. It's very nice to meet you."
How he manages to smile after the crap he endured momente ago is beyond you.
"I... I have some junk food in this bag. We can share it."
You impress yourself.
Spontaneousness means following your heart and you can't help but melt a little inside at his surprised and flustered expression.
"Are you sure? It's just... You bought these for your own enjoyment. I- I wouldn't like to be a nuisance... Y- you really don't have to share your food with me."
"Pick a bench."
BASIL complies silently, his gaze finding an unoccupied bench on a quiet corner.
"...that one?"
"Cool."
You begin walking towards the selected bench. Casting a quick glance behind, you notice that BASIL still is frozen in place, not believing you're not seeing him as a burden and that you actually want his company.
"C'mon!"
Your voice seems to snap him out of whatever trance he was in. His melancholy and anxiousness are the results of MARI's death, combined with AUBREY' bullying. Obviously, you wouldn't even imagine the first reason.
You sit in a slightly awkward, slightly soothing silence. You handed him one of the cans of lemonade and opened a pack of gummies, placing it between you.
"Thank you."
The eye contact he makes is fleeting, but you mentally give him kudos for trying.
"So, what was all this fuss about?"
"With AUBREY?"
"Yeah, not that I care about her stupid name."
BASIL makes a choked sound, maybe a failed attempt to chuckle.
"It's... It's just a misunderstanding. I don't want to tire you with the details."
"You won't tire me. I asked for the full story. You have my permission to start talking non-stop."
"You're very straightforward... You remind me of a friend of mine, KEL"
"Um, I really don't know anyone around here."
"That's okay. You know me now."
You smile at that. He blushes and looks at his shoes. Unbeknown to you, BASIL is starting to develop a strong sense of devotion towards you. You rescued him from the Hooligans, you're patient with him, you're even sharing your precious snacks!
"About the misunderstanding... I don't want to make you see AUBREY in a bad light because of what I'll say."
"She was so cruel to you! How can you defend her?!"
"We used to be friends and-
...she's been through a lot."
"That's not enough to justify her behaviour."
A shrug. He knows you're right. He drops the talk about AUBREY.
"I- I enjoy... enjoyed taking pictures. My memories with my friends are my most treasured possessions. It's nice to be able to capture a whole memory in just a single frame."
There's something really pleasant in his voice. BASIL still is nervous and flustered, however, he now appears to be more willing to talk and more at ease in your presence.
"And that's why I kept a PHOTO ALBUM that contained all the memories I made with my friends..."
"That's interesting... and sweet. Still, I haven't heard anything about misunderstandings."
A sad sigh.
"Are you sure I'm not making you bored with all the talking?"
"I'm invested, you can't stop now."
You sip your lemonade and he chews another gummie. BASIL can't suppress a smile. A sincere one at that, because it reaches his teal eyes. It's been a long time since he had any human contact with someone who isn't Polly.
From what he tells you, the misunderstanding happened because AUBREY got angry at him and stole his PHOTO ALBUM, thinking he had vandalized the photos, even though the photos were actually tampered with by another friend of theirs. She's practically blaming him for something he didn't do.
You want to ask him why would that other friend do such a thing in the first place, but something in his gaze holds you back from doing so.
Luckily, after his explanation of why that girl hates him, you move on to discussing lighter subjects. You don't even realise how much time has passed as you listen to him talk about his plants. That boy has quite the green thumb.
Whether it's some good old gardening, or tending to flowers, to trees, even growing vegetables... he's done it. You're certain his house must look very fairytale-like.
It's afternoon now! Did you spend the whole day rumbling with BASIL? Are you ready to say goodbye? No
"You can come over for dinner. My granny will be more than happy to have you."
BASIL's usual anxiousness gives way to excitement. Grandparents are a sensitive topic to him, but he's so giddy at the prospect of having you as a friend that he doesn't get triggered by the mention of your grandma. In all honesty, your invitation has his stomach doing backflips... That's not something he's felt for a friend before.
Strange.
✿
Chicken with rice is today's main course, with apple pie for dessert. BASIL seemed really pleased, but you're not the biggest fan of pies. So you let him have your own slice as well. It's a good thing you took your dessert in your bedroom, otherwise grandma wouldn't let you rest without eating at least half a slice.
"You have a big Lego collection", observes BASIL from his esteemed place at the edge of your bed. You're sitting right next to him.
"Yeah I know, but I've kind of grown out of it as of late."
Your gazes meet almost involuntarily and you're sure that you're sharing the exact same thought. Moments like this have you believing in telepathy.
The evening passes by with you and him building brick houses, castles and more. You start simple, following the instructions of each set. Soon though, you both allow your creativity to take control.
BASIL has seen many butterflies in his garden, but he never thought possible he'd be able to feel them flutter their wings in his stomach.
When it's time for him to leave, he has a pitiful expression on his face.
"Don't worry, you can come over again tomorrow."
"R- really? I mean... I'd really like it if we kept in touch."
✿
In the morning, the door bell wakes you up. You sit up slowly, stretching and rubbing the sleepiness off your eyes. It's a bit early for you, but you go answer the door anyway.
Your hair is a mess, your thoughts a blur. Who could it even be?
"Good morning! I wanted to give this!"
Here stands Basil, handing you a little flower pot.
"Oh... Hello. What's th- What kind of flower is that?"
He smiles brightly as you take the pot in your hands.
"I'm glad you asked. These are daffodils! As you can see they have a bright and joyful yellow colour. Daffodils are strong, resilient flowers that pop up year after year!"
You're happy. He makes you happy, even when you're hella eepy.
"They symbolize friendship... as well as new beginnings! They're one of the first signs of Spring. Well, you're my new friend, so I thought that you should have them!"
"And what about the new beginnings aspect?"
Another smile.
"Oh! Don't worry about that!"
You'll never know it, but you saved BASIL in the word's truest meaning. He gives you a quick but tight hug.
"That's all for now! I have to visit my granny at the hospital! But we can meet afterwards!"
Once he closes his mouth, you both fall silent and turn tomato red. You manage a smirk and then you're both laughing, giggling and planning your day.

The pollen’s embrace
Request: Sex pollen with Chris and fem!reader?
Chris Refields x Fem!reader SMUT
Disclaimer: ya gurl was exhausted when writing this, there could be errors, fuck it.
enjoy my lovelies!
As the sun began to set over the desolate landscape, the BSAA team found themselves deep within the heart of an abandoned Neo-umbrella laboratory. It was a routine mission to gather intelligence on the remnants of the notorious umbrella corporation’s experiments, but little did they know this mission would take a scandalous turn for one of their own. You were a skilled and dedicated agent, you had always been a standout member, your sharp mind and unwavering courage making you an invaluable asset to the BSAA. And on this fateful day, your path was about to intertwine with that of your esteemed captain, Chris Redfield.
The team had split up to cover more ground, you found yourself alone in a dimly lit corridor, you footsteps echoing off the cold, concrete walls. As you approached a sealed chamber, a strange sensation washed over you. A sudden gust of warm air stirred, carrying with it a peculiar scent. Before you could even react, a cloud of fine pollen erupted from a nearby purple plant, engulfing you in it’s mysterious embrace. You coughed, your eyes watering from the unexpected assault.
Unbeknownst to you, this pollen was not a mere allergen but a sinister creation of the umbrella corporation. It was designed to induce a powerful aphrodisiac effect, ensuring a steady supply of offspring without the need for costly artificial insemination. The pollen’s effects were swift and merciless.
As the minutes passed, you began to feel a peculiar warmth spreading throughout your body. You heart raced, and a strange, insatiable thirst consumed you. You felt your cheeks flush, skin tingling with a newfound sensitivity. Confused and concerned, you tried to shake off the strange sensations, but they only intensified. Your mind, usually sharp and focused, became clouded with a fog of desire.
Meanwhile, Chris had been searching for you after losing contact. He found you in the corridor, leaning against the wall, eyes half-lidded, a sheen of sweat glistening on your skin.
“Hey, y/n, are you alright?” he asked, his deep voice filled with concern. “I’ve been looking for you, what happened here?”
You struggled to form coherent sentences, your mouth dry and thoughts muddled. “I…. I think I’m sick, Chris. Something happened… a plant… it sprayed me.” you gestured weakly towards the sealed chamber.
Chris’s eyes narrowed as he noticed the fine layer of pollen coating your uniform. He recognized the signs, having encountered similar bioweapons in the past. “Stay here, I’ll be right back,” he said, his voice firm.
Chris rushed to the lab’s computers, searching for one that works. His fingers flying across the keyboard of a working desktop, searching the database got any information on the pollen. His heart sank as he discovered the truth. The pollen was a powerful aphrodisiac, and the symptoms you were experiencing were only the beginning. If left untreated, the pollen would drive it’s victim to seek sexual release, and if they didn’t find a partner, the consequences could be fatal.
Chris knew what had to be done, the thought of it made his stomach churn. He had always admired your strength and determination, and the idea of taking advantage of your vulnerable state was unthinkable. But as he stared at the screen, he realized there was no other choice. He had to act, and he had to act fast.
Returning to you, he found you slumped against the wall, your eyes heavy with desire. You looked up at him, pupils dilated, lips parted slightly, as if in anticipation.
“I know what’s happening to you,” he stated, his voice low and steady. “It’s the pollen, it’s designed to make you… want things.”
You nodded weakly, your breath coming in short gasps. “I know… I can’t stop thinking about… about sex. My body feels like it’s on fire.”
Chris’s throat went dry. He had always been attracted to you, but he had kept his feelings in check, knowing that relationships within the BSAA were strictly forbidden. But now, faced with this crisis, he knew he had to put his personal feelings aside and do what was necessary to save you.
“Listen to me, y/n,” he said with a gentle yet commanding tone. “We’re alone here, and I’m going to help you. I’m going to make you feel better, but you have to trust me.”
You nodded again, eyes pleading. “Please, Chris, I need you.”
Chris took a deep breath, steeling himself for what was to come. He stepped closer to you, his broad shoulders blocking out the dim light. “I want you to relax,” he whispered, his warm breath caressing your ear. “Just let go and let me take care of you.”
As he spoke, Chris gently guided you to a nearby room, a storage area with a large table and a few crates. The room was secluded, ensuring their privacy. He helped you lie down on the table, your body trembling with anticipation.
“You’re safe here,” he assured you, his fingers gently stroking your hair. “I’m going to take care of you, y/n. I’m going to make this feel good.”
You moaned softly, your body arching slightly as his fingers trailed down your neck, sending shivers of pleasure through your body. You were aware of the wrongness of the situation, but the pollen’s influence was too strong, clouding your judgment and amplifying your desires.
Chris undid the buttons of your uniform, revealing your heaving chest, your breast straining against the confines of your bra. He gently cupped your breasts, his thumbs brushing over your sensitive nipples, causing you to gasp and arch your back.
“You like that, don’t you?” he murmured, his voice thick with desire. “You’ve always been so strong y/n, but now I get to see this side of you.”
You could barely form words, your mind overwhelmed by the sensations coursing through your body. You nodded, eyes pleading for more.
Chris leaned down, his lips finding yours in a passionate kiss. His tongue parted your lips, exploring your mouth, tasting you sweetness. You responded eagerly, hands gripping his shoulders, pulling him closer.
As the kiss deepened, Chris’s hands roamed freely, unhooking your bra and freeing your breasts. He teased your nipples with his thumbs and forefingers, rolling and pinching them gently, eliciting soft moans for you.
“You’re so beautiful,” he whispered against your lips. “I’ve wanted to do this for so long, but I never thought it would be like this.”
You arched your back, pushing your breasts into his hands, your body yearning for more. Chris obliged, his mouth leaving a trail of kisses down your neck, he hands moving to the waistband of your pants.
With deft fingers, he unfastened your belt and slid your pants down your thighs, revealing your lacy panties, already damp with your arousal. He hooked his fingers into the waistband, slowly sliding them down your legs, his eyes never leaving your flushed face.
You lay before him, your body exposed and vulnerable, your skin glistening with a fine sheen of sweat. Chris couldn't help but admire your beauty, the curves of your hips, the softness of your skin.
"You're so wet," he murmured, his voice hoarse with desire. "I can see how much you want this."
He positioned himself between your legs, his hands gently parting your thighs. you whimpered, your body trembling with anticipation. Chris leaned down, his breath hot against your sensitive skin.
"I'm going to make you feel so good," he promised, his lips brushing against your inner thigh. "Just relax and let me take care of you."
With that, Chris lowered his head, his tongue flicking out to taste you for the first time. He teased your clit gently, swirling his tongue around the sensitive bud, causing you to gasp and buck your hips. Her hands gripped the edge of the table, your fingernails digging into the wood as you struggled to contain your mounting pleasure.
Chris continued his sensual assault, his tongue delving deeper, exploring every inch of your wetness. He sucked and licked, his fingers gently massaging your inner walls, finding the spots that made you cry out in ecstasy.
"Oh, Chris... please... don't stop," you begged, voice hoarse and desperate.
Chris smiled against you, his own desire building with each of your pleas. He wanted to make this last, to savour every moment, but the urgency in your voice was too much to resist.
He positioned himself at your dripping entrance, his throbbing cock pressing against your wetness. You whimpered, body arching up to meet him. With one smooth thrust, he filled you, your tight heat enveloping him.
"Oh God," he groaned, his eyes rolling back in pleasure. "You feel so good, y/n."
You moaned, your body adjusting to the sensation of being filled. Chris began to move, his hips thrusting slowly at first, then building to a steady, relentless rhythm. He filled you completely with each stroke, his cock sliding in and out of your wetness, eliciting soft, breathy moans from you.
"You like that, don't you?" he whispered, his lips brushing against your ear. "You love being fucked by your captain."
You could only nod, your eyes closed, body moving in sync with his. Chris's words, laced with dominance and desire, only fuelled your arousal. You wanted to please him, to submit to his every command.
Chris increased the pace, his hands gripping your hips, guiding your movements. He pounded into you, his cock slamming against your sweet spot with each thrust, driving you closer and closer to the edge.
"Come for me, y/n," he growled, his voice rough with passion. "Let go."
you cried out, your body tensing as the orgasm ripped through you. Waves of pleasure washed over you, your muscles clenching around Chris's cock, milking him as he continued to thrust, driving you to the brink of another climax.
Chris couldn't hold back any longer. With a final, powerful thrust, he buried himself deep inside you, his cock pulsating as he emptied his load, filling you with his hot seed.
You lay there, entangled in each other's arms, your hearts racing and bodies glistening with sweat. You turned your head, eyes meeting Chris's, both of you aware of the taboo you had just crossed.
"I... I'm sorry," you whispered, your voice hoars with emotion. "I know this shouldn't have happened."
Chris shook his head, his fingers gently stroking your cheek. "Don't apologize. I know it was the pollen, but I've wanted you for so long. I just never imagined it would be like this."
You smiled, your eyes glistening with unshed tears. "I know, Chris. I wanted you too. But I never thought I'd be so... out of control."
Chris leaned in, capturing your lips in a tender kiss. "It's okay, we'll deal with the consequences later. Right now, we just need to focus on getting you through this."
As you lay there, your hearts slowly returning to a normal rhythm, Chris knew that your lives had been irrevocably changed. The mission had taken an unexpected turn, and now you both had to face the aftermath of your passionate encounter. But for now, you savoured the moment, your bodies entwined, your hearts beating as one.
