Top France cloud server at best price
Tumblr media
As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, I don't have real-time information on specific cloud service providers or their current pricing. Cloud server prices can vary based on factors such as the provider, the type of server (e.g., virtual private server, dedicated server), the amount of resources (CPU, RAM, storage) you require, and any additional services or features.
However, some well-known cloud service providers that offer cloud servers and have a presence in France include:
Amazon Web Services (AWS): AWS is a leading global cloud platform with data centers in multiple regions, including France (Paris). They offer a wide range of cloud services, including virtual servers through Amazon EC2.
Microsoft Azure: Azure is Microsoft's cloud computing platform, and it provides a variety of services, including virtual machines, storage, and more. Azure has data centers in various regions, including France Cloud Server.
Google Cloud Platform (GCP): GCP is Google's cloud offering with services such as Compute Engine for virtual machines. GCP also has data centers in multiple regions, including Europe.
OVHcloud: OVHcloud is a European cloud provider with a strong presence in France. They offer a range of cloud services, including virtual private servers, dedicated servers, and more.
Scaleway: Scaleway is a cloud provider based in France, offering a variety of cloud services, including virtual instances, object storage, and more.
When looking for the "best price," it's important to consider your specific requirements, including the resources you need, the level of support required, and any additional features. Additionally, cloud providers often have pricing calculators on their websites that allow you to estimate the cost based on your usage patterns.
Keep in mind that the cloud computing landscape can change, and new providers or pricing models may emerge. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, it's recommended to visit the official websites of the providers mentioned above or other reputable cloud service providers that operate in the French region.

Enshittification isn’t inevitable: under different conditions and constraints, the old, good internet could have given way to a new, good internet. Enshittification is the result of specific policy choices: encouraging monopolies; enabling high-speed, digital shell games; and blocking interoperability.
First we allowed companies to buy up their competitors. Google is the shining example here: having made one good product (search), they then fielded an essentially unbroken string of in-house flops, but it didn’t matter, because they were able to buy their way to glory: video, mobile, ad-tech, server management, docs, navigation…They’re not Willy Wonka’s idea factory, they’re Rich Uncle Pennybags, making up for their lack of invention by buying out everyone else:
https://locusmag.com/2022/03/cory-doctorow-vertically-challenged/
But this acquisition-fueled growth isn’t unique to tech. Every administration since Reagan (but not Biden! more on this later) has chipped away at antitrust enforcement, so that every sector has undergone an orgy of mergers, from athletic shoes to sea freight, eyeglasses to pro wrestling:
https://www.whitehouse.gov/cea/written-materials/2021/07/09/the-importance-of-competition-for-the-american-economy/
But tech is different, because digital is flexible in a way that analog can never be. Tech companies can “twiddle” the back-ends of their clouds to change the rules of the business from moment to moment, in a high-speed shell-game that can make it impossible to know what kind of deal you’re getting:
https://pluralistic.net/2023/02/27/knob-jockeys/#bros-be-twiddlin
To make things worse, users are banned from twiddling. The thicket of rules we call IP ensure that twiddling is only done against users, never for them. Reverse-engineering, scraping, bots — these can all be blocked with legal threats and suits and even criminal sanctions, even if they’re being done for legitimate purposes:
https://locusmag.com/2020/09/cory-doctorow-ip/
Enhittification isn’t inevitable but if we let companies buy all their competitors, if we let them twiddle us with every hour that God sends, if we make it illegal to twiddle back in self-defense, we will get twiddled to death. When a company can operate without the discipline of competition, nor of privacy law, nor of labor law, nor of fair trading law, with the US government standing by to punish any rival who alters the logic of their service, then enshittification is the utterly foreseeable outcome.
To understand how our technology gets distorted by these policy choices, consider “The Cloud.” Once, “the cloud” was just a white-board glyph, a way to show that some part of a software’s logic would touch some commodified, fungible, interchangeable appendage of the internet. Today, “The Cloud” is a flashing warning sign, the harbinger of enshittification.
When your image-editing tools live on your computer, your files are yours. But once Adobe moves your software to The Cloud, your critical, labor-intensive, unrecreatable images are purely contingent. At at time, without notice, Adobe can twiddle the back end and literally steal the colors out of your own files:
https://pluralistic.net/2022/10/28/fade-to-black/#trust-the-process
The finance sector loves The Cloud. Add “The Cloud” to a product and profits (money you get for selling something) can turn into rents (money you get for owning something). Profits can be eroded by competition, but rents are evergreen:
https://pluralistic.net/2023/07/24/rent-to-pwn/#kitt-is-a-demon
No wonder The Cloud has seeped into every corner of our lives. Remember your first iPod? Adding music to it was trivial: double click any music file to import it into iTunes, then plug in your iPod and presto, synched! Today, even sophisticated technology users struggle to “side load” files onto their mobile devices. Instead, the mobile duopoly — Apple and Google, who bought their way to mobile glory and have converged on the same rent-seeking business practices, down to the percentages they charge — want you to get your files from The Cloud, via their apps. This isn’t for technological reasons, it’s a business imperative: 30% of every transaction that involves an app gets creamed off by either Apple or Google in pure rents:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/doctorow/red-team-blues-another-audiobook-that-amazon-wont-sell/posts/3788112
And yet, The Cloud is undeniably useful. Having your files synch across multiple devices, including your collaborators’ devices, with built-in tools for resolving conflicting changes, is amazing. Indeed, this feat is the holy grail of networked tools, because it’s how programmers write all the software we use, including software in The Cloud.
If you want to know how good a tool can be, just look at the tools that toolsmiths use. With “source control” — the software programmers use to collaboratively write software — we get a very different vision of how The Cloud could operate. Indeed, modern source control doesn’t use The Cloud at all. Programmers’ workflow doesn’t break if they can’t access the internet, and if the company that provides their source control servers goes away, it’s simplicity itself to move onto another server provider.
This isn’t The Cloud, it’s just “the cloud” — that whiteboard glyph from the days of the old, good internet — freely interchangeable, eminently fungible, disposable and replaceable. For a tool like git, Github is just one possible synchronization point among many, all of which have a workflow whereby programmers’ computers automatically make local copies of all relevant data and periodically lob it back up to one or more servers, resolving conflicting edits through a process that is also largely automated.
There’s a name for this model: it’s called “Local First” computing, which is computing that starts from the presumption that the user and their device is the most important element of the system. Networked servers are dumb pipes and dumb storage, a nice-to-have that fails gracefully when it’s not available.
The data structures of source-code are among the most complicated formats we have; if we can do this for code, we can do it for spreadsheets, word-processing files, slide-decks, even edit-decision-lists for video and audio projects. If local-first computing can work for programmers writing code, it can work for the programs those programmers write.
Local-first computing is experiencing a renaissance. Writing for Wired, Gregory Barber traces the history of the movement, starting with the French computer scientist Marc Shapiro, who helped develop the theory of “Conflict-Free Replicated Data” — a way to synchronize data after multiple people edit it — two decades ago:
https://www.wired.com/story/the-cloud-is-a-prison-can-the-local-first-software-movement-set-us-free/
Shapiro and his co-author Nuno Preguiça envisioned CFRD as the building block of a new generation of P2P collaboration tools that weren’t exactly serverless, but which also didn’t rely on servers as the lynchpin of their operation. They published a technical paper that, while exiting, was largely drowned out by the release of GoogleDocs (based on technology built by a company that Google bought, not something Google made in-house).
Shapiro and Preguiça’s work got fresh interest with the 2019 publication of “Local-First Software: You Own Your Data, in spite of the Cloud,” a viral whitepaper-cum-manifesto from a quartet of computer scientists associated with Cambridge University and Ink and Switch, a self-described “industrial research lab”:
https://www.inkandswitch.com/local-first/static/local-first.pdf
The paper describes how its authors — Martin Kleppmann, Adam Wiggins, Peter van Hardenberg and Mark McGranaghan — prototyped and tested a bunch of simple local-first collaboration tools built on CFRD algorithms, with the goal of “network optional…seamless collaboration.” The results are impressive, if nascent. Conflicting edits were simpler to resolve than the authors anticipated, and users found URLs to be a good, intuitive way of sharing documents. The biggest hurdles are relatively minor, like managing large amounts of change-data associated with shared files.
Just as importantly, the paper makes the case for why you’d want to switch to local-first computing. The Cloud is not reliable. Companies like Evernote don’t last forever — they can disappear in an eyeblink, and take your data with them:
https://www.theverge.com/2023/7/9/23789012/evernote-layoff-us-staff-bending-spoons-note-taking-app
Google isn’t likely to disappear any time soon, but Google is a graduate of the Darth Vader MBA program (“I have altered the deal, pray I don’t alter it any further”) and notorious for shuttering its products, even beloved ones like Google Reader:
https://www.theverge.com/23778253/google-reader-death-2013-rss-social
And while the authors don’t mention it, Google is also prone to simply kicking people off all its services, costing them their phone numbers, email addresses, photos, document archives and more:
https://pluralistic.net/2022/08/22/allopathic-risk/#snitches-get-stitches
There is enormous enthusiasm among developers for local-first application design, which is only natural. After all, companies that use The Cloud go to great lengths to make it just “the cloud,” using containerization to simplify hopping from one cloud provider to another in a bid to stave off lock-in from their cloud providers and the enshittification that inevitably follows.
The nimbleness of containerization acts as a disciplining force on cloud providers when they deal with their business customers: disciplined by the threat of losing money, cloud companies are incentivized to treat those customers better. The companies we deal with as end-users know exactly how bad it gets when a tech company can impose high switching costs on you and then turn the screws until things are almost-but-not-quite so bad that you bolt for the doors. They devote fantastic effort to making sure that never happens to them — and that they can always do that to you.
Interoperability — the ability to leave one service for another — is technology’s secret weapon, the thing that ensures that users can turn The Cloud into “the cloud,” a humble whiteboard glyph that you can erase and redraw whenever it suits you. It’s the greatest hedge we have against enshittification, so small wonder that Big Tech has spent decades using interop to clobber their competitors, and lobbying to make it illegal to use interop against them:
https://locusmag.com/2019/01/cory-doctorow-disruption-for-thee-but-not-for-me/
Getting interop back is a hard slog, but it’s also our best shot at creating a new, good internet that lives up the promise of the old, good internet. In my next book, The Internet Con: How to Seize the Means of Computation (Verso Books, Sept 5), I set out a program fro disenshittifying the internet:
https://www.versobooks.com/products/3035-the-internet-con
The book is up for pre-order on Kickstarter now, along with an independent, DRM-free audiobooks (DRM-free media is the content-layer equivalent of containerized services — you can move them into or out of any app you want):
http://seizethemeansofcomputation.org
Meanwhile, Lina Khan, the FTC and the DoJ Antitrust Division are taking steps to halt the economic side of enshittification, publishing new merger guidelines that will ban the kind of anticompetitive merger that let Big Tech buy its way to glory:
https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2023/07/biden-administration-corporate-merger-antitrust-guidelines/674779/
The internet doesn’t have to be enshittified, and it’s not too late to disenshittify it. Indeed — the same forces that enshittified the internet — monopoly mergers, a privacy and labor free-for-all, prohibitions on user-side twiddling — have enshittified everything from cars to powered wheelchairs. Not only should we fight enshittification — we must.

Chapter 8: Bats and Stalkers
Red Hood watched as his newest subordinate flittered around their current base, the kid had shown up two weeks ago and had slowly integrated themself into his gang. Hood still didn’t know if he should trust the kid or not but other than a strange buzz whenever they were near, he had no reason to mistrust them. The kid was… strange but seemed to genuinely want to help despite having admitted to practically stalking him for weeks before approaching. He huffed as he thought over their first encounter.
*****
Jason sighed as he leaned back, legs dangling over the edge of the abandoned theatre's roof. It was a slow night and the semi-peace had him on alert, calm in Gotham almost never bode well for anyone. He'd removed his Hood, Domino in place as he looked over Crime Alley, smoke trailing from his lips as he took a drag from his cigarette.
The usual Gotham smog clouded the sky, obscuring the stars from view. It was nearing early morning when a scuff from behind had him instinctively grabbing his guns as he got to his feet and spun around to face the intruder. Pausing to take in the figure in front of him. They had their hands up in a show of peace and remained calm under hoods scrutiny. "who are you?"
Instead of a verbal answer, they slowly began to sign. "I want to join you. I'm new in Gotham, been following the bats and rogues the last few weeks. Thought my skills and goal lined up best with yours"
'Huh, that's knew.' Jason leaned down to pick up his Hood and put it on before replying. "Why'd you think that? If yah know who I am, what's your goal?"
The kid? they looked about Duke or Tims age, not that he could tell much from the full head and face mask they wore. Similar to Black Bat. 'A copy cat?'' He took the chance to look them over more thoroughly as he waited for a response. Their outfit covered every inch of skin and was mostly black with thin hacker green and screen blue lines running along the seams and crisscrossing their chest, almost resembling the motherboard of a computer, the area covering the eyes glowed faintly and was the same screen blue, there was also a neon red X over the mouth area that looked to have been painted on rather aggressively over a silver grin.
The boots they wore were strange, they were similar to Nightwing's skintight suit but in place of the thin flexible soles, they had thick heavy silver platforms that resemble combat boots. 'how'd they sneak up on me in those?' he wondered. Tucked into the boots was a pair of loose cargo style pants, held up with a silver belt. The top once again bore resemblance to Nightwing's skin tight suit with the sleeves continuing on to cover the hands, each finger tipped in silver claws.
Movement from their hands caught his attention, he paid keen attention as they signed. "1-Personal investment in taking down the Joker. 2-Need help, you were the best bet in letting me get my shot, others would try talk me out of it. 3-Don't feel like being a Rogue. 4-I'm good at gathering info unnoticed."
They let their hands drop to their sides but kept them in sight, head cocked to the side as they waited for a reaction. Hood thought it over. "Prove the last one and I'll let you in on a trial run. Once you do that we can go over house rules and the types of jobs you'll get."
Jason had fully expected the kid to agree and leave to gather information on some gang or something. He was not expected for them to slowly reach behind them and pull out multiple folders, from seemingly nowhere and toss the stack onto the floor between them. Giving them another once over, he saw nowhere they could have possible hid the stack. Looking from the stack to the kid in question, he tilted his head in silent inquiry. They gat the message and began to sign. "That's all the info I gathered on the other Bats during my time observing them, as well as information I gathered on various Rogues and factions in Gotham"
Jason's brow rose under his hood as he slowly moved to pick up the files. flipping through the stack, he could feel his brows clime higher and higher as he did before farrowing when he got to the folders on the Bats. The files were incredibly detailed, describing each of their patrol routes, rotations, preferred routes, habits, favourite rest stops and they even went into detail on their relationships and who paired best with who for fights and recon missions.
He glanced up at the kid, who was currently staring up at the smog filled sky. 'I'll have to leave soon, the sky is already started to turn pale.' He quickly skimmed through the rest of the files, almost snorting as he came across a picture of Nightwing face planting a window at Wayne Enterprises Tower. 'It's a good thing Bruce had all the windows reinforced'. His humour quickly turned into a scowl when he came across a picture of Red Hood dangling from his ankle after being caught in a trap set by Spoiler. "What's your plan if I say no?"
"Black Mail you into letting me join." Jason's brows shot up at that.
"And if that fails?" Jason was curious, what would this kid do?.
"Help you any way. You just wont see me." Jason resisted the urge pinch the bridge of is nose.
"Fine Kid, I'll let you in for a trial period of a month, if you double cross me in any way you're out. Got it?"
Jason received a nod and salute from the kid. "Alright, come here tomorrow at 9pm and I'll lead you to the warehouse we use for debriefs. We'll start on one of the gangs we've been onto for awhile, you got some good tips here. From there we'll test your skills. Now, What do I call you kid?"
"Not a kid. 18. You can call me Hex." With that the kid stepped back, spun and made a running leap to the next roof top. Quickly disappearing into the distance.
"Hex, huh." He'd have to keep an eye on them, they were good, if they could keep tabs on the Bats without being caught. he bit his lip as he looked through the files again until he found the one on Black Bat. 'I really hope this kid doesn't turn out to be a budding Rogue... this is Tim level of fuck all stalking and the fact they manage to make a file on Black Bat... She hadn't mentioned anything, so either she felt there was no threat or she did not detect them at all.'  With a heavy sigh, Jason gathered the files and stuffed them in to the bag he used for collecting shit from the dealers or thugs he came across during patrols. Stretching out, he slung the bag over his shoulder and made his way down to his bike. it was time to get back to his safe house and sleep before tackling whatever the hell that encounter had been.
*****
Danny yawned as they stretched out on their couch, it had been two weeks since they got themselves an in with Hoods gang, things were going well so far. They were still doing grunt work being a runner, but Danny found it fascinating. It reminded them of watching his sperm donor's operations but at the same time it was the complete opposite. Where before they were always wary, now they were at ease and confident in their safety. Back then there was always screams, crying and fights in the background, with the current Red Hood? There was a camaraderie, a deep understanding that they work to help those in Crime Alley.
Hood ruled by respect, fear and protection. It settled something in Danny to see the Red Hood title so far removed from their childhood memories. It was also a surprise to find that Red Hood was the source of the Angry/Hurt tugging they had felt here and there since entering Gotham. Red Hood was a Revenant, a sick one at that. Danny had slowly been filtering the corrupt ectoplasm via proximity and was happy to feel the Anger slowly drain away. They couldn't do much about the other emotions but the Anger was defiantly a direct result of the corruption.
"Oomph!" Danny's thoughts were interrupted by a weight landing on their back. "Hello to you too. Why are you trying to suffocate me, this fine afternoon?"
"I Know" There was something smug in her voice.
"Know what?" Danny gave a half hearted attempt to dislodge the Little Shadow but she only readjusted and they gave up with a huff.
"Hex." Danny stiffened and made to sit up, Cass easily slid off them and sat next to them.
"How?" Danny observed her, she was calm and didn't look or feel upset, they were rather confused about the Happy/Smug/Mistchief she was unknowingly giving off.
"Was following Red Hood, He was acting strange. Good strange but strange. Saw Hex use Sign for Me. Only you use Swan sign but Hex used Swan and Hood say Black Bat!" She really looked proud of herself. They had figured out the Bats were the Waynes almost immediately after seeing Nightwing do a quadruple flip and Black Bat's Liminalty gave her away as Cass.
"Ok, fine I'm Hex... What now?" They looked at her curiously.
"Keep secret. Not tell Bats, yet." Danny watched as she seemed to hesitate before continuing in sign. They froze as they watched her hands. "Bats found the Ecto-Act, Big bat is not happy and is investigating how no one found it before. He also wants to know why he was not told and if calls to the Justice League was made."
Danny sighed and flopped back into the couch. turning to look at Cass they decided to tell he the parts of their story they left out the last time. Seems help was coming sooner than they expected. This changed a few things but over all? It was good. They felt Cass snuggle into their side. Danny glanced at her and smiled before grabbing their phone and ordering takeout. Seems they were having a stay in day. They might ask for the nigh off from Hood if Cass doesn't have patrol, they could watch movies and dance. Yeah, that sounds good.
Chapter 9: Stalker meet Stalker
Hex hid in the shadows, ever observant as they waited for their chance to make an appearance. During their observation and information gathering, in order to guarantee a way into Hoods gang, they had noticed the source of the main reason they were in this Cursed city was coming from the Red Bird. So every chance they got, Hex would go out and follow the Red Bird to figure out if the tugging was coming from him specifically or from an object he was carrying. The Red Bird was currently wrapping up an attempted robbery. Hex leaned back on the ledge, rubbing a hand over their chest where they knew their core rested. The tugging was more frantic now that they were so close to figuring it out. A click got their attention and they realised all the thugs had been secured and the Red Bird was getting ready to continue his patrol.
'There!' Hex jumped to the next roof, landing just as Red Robin swung over the ledge. Hex watched as the Bird paused and settle into a well hidden ready stance as he took notice of the fact he wasn't alone.
*****
"Who are you?" Tim kept his focus on the unknown as he subtly clicked the alert on his belt. It would let the others know he had encountered an unknown but to hold back until they are confirmed to be hostile. The unknown tilted their head to the side as they slowly lifted their hands, Tim watched as they began to sign.
"They call me Hex. You have something I've been looking for." Hex leaned against the large vent, hands still visible.
Tim waited but when they didn't continue, he shifted into a more relaxed stance. "And what would that be?"
Tim watched as they slumped slightly, giving the impression they were sighing. "I don't know."
"You don't know?" Tim raised a brow at that. "Then how do you know I have what you want?"
Hex straitened a little before signing. "Something... Something lead me to this city, something was tugging me here. If it wasn't for that feeling, I never would have stepped foot in this Cursed City. But... certain circumstances left me a lot of free time and the tugging grew near painful. So, I followed it, it lead me to this city, it lead me to you. I had no idea if it was an object or a person." Tim watched as they stretched and straitened fully, shifting to face Red Robin straight on. Tim tensed, as he straightened up himself. "Now standing so close, I can tell the pull is coming from you, you directly, not something on your person. Now, I'm left with the question. 'Why?'."
Tim flinched at the sudden sound of Hex's voice. It was distorted and sounded like it was overlayed by static. He was quick to fall into a more ready stance. "So what now? You going to try capture me to figure it out?"
"No." Red Robin watched as Hex took a step back. "I know what, or rather who, the pull is coming from. Now, I need to figure out Why and How but it's clear you know nothing about it."
With that Red Robin watched as Hex flipped back and over the edge of the roof. Tim gave chase slamming into the roof top barrier and peered over the edge but there was no one there. Hex had vanished. A click from his comms had him snapping to attention. Tapping his comm once he connected to the private channel. "Red, Report."
"The unknown has left, they are apparently in Gotham because something lead them here. They were following it and, according to them, it lead them to me. They don't appear hostile, just someone searching for answers." Tim unlatched his grapple hook. "I believe it would be best to observe but do not engage in case that changes."
"Hn, can I leave this to you Red? Or should I put one of the others on this?" Tim took aim at the next roof.
"I'll be involved either way." Tim shot his grapple. "But I'll take a back seat on this one, do the paperwork and research, if they make contact again, then I'll put it on a higher priority. O.G.J.J. takes precedence."
"Don't push yourself Red. I'd rather you stepped back from anything involving the Joker." With a tug to insure it was secure, Tim stood on the ledge and swung through the Gotham night, landing on the buildings gravel top.
"I know B. But it's my case, I'll see it through." Silence fell on the comms. Aim, shoot, check and fly. Red robin soared though Gotham, watching out for any petty crimes or signs of trouble as he did a final lap of his patrol route.
"We're here, I'm here if you need help. Don't forget that Son." The Comms clicked signalling Batman had switched back to the main channel.
Tim's breath hitched as he drew in a deep breath. "I know Dad, I know."
Tim shook himself before making his way through the city and towards his bike. His thoughts on his current case and the new mystery. It would seem he'll be needing a new Pin Board.
*****
Danny narrowed their eyes as they watched the Red Bird fly away. Their Core gave a particularly hard yank as they watch him disappear behind the taller buildings. 'Just what is your connection to me Birdie.' Danny sighed as he thought of just Who the Red Bird is behind the mask. Slinking further into the shadows, Hex vanished into the night.
*****
"And just where have you been?" His tone was light but the hint of accusation was clear in Hoods voice. Jason watched as Hex slipped into his office and made themself comfortable on one of the couches, stretching out like a particularly satisfied cat. Giving the kid a once over, he gave a mental nod of satisfaction, noting they had no visible or obvious injuries. The kid sat up and began signing.
"Here and there, I got the information you wanted." Hex once again pulled a file out of nowhere and tossed it at him. Jason caught it and was quick to open it and go over the information. Remnants of the Black Mask gang had been seen gathering recently and Jason didn't feel like waiting for them to become a problem.
"What else were you up to?" Jason looked up from the file to pin Hex with a look. Though the Hood hid it. Hex sat up and pulled their legs up to sit cross-legged, staring right back at Red Hood.
"Bird watching, the red one has caught my interest, seems he has a connection to what I'm looking for." Hex sighed and slumped back into the couch. "After observing him and having a little chat... I have an idea as to what it is but not the how or the why he is connected."
"Whatever it is, it's not gonna cause trouble or put the Bird in danger." It wasn't a question, the threat was clear.
"I don't know. I hope not but with the way my life is going..." Jason observed the way Hex had hunched in on themself. The kid was good at what they do and Jason new the kid truly wanted to help more but something was haunting them, following them from wherever they came from. Jason waited for them to continue. "I have a few theories but I'm not liking any of them or the tapestry they are threading because if I'm right. Then if it weren't for my mother dumping me on my Donor My life could have gone so differently. And I would never have wished my life on another I would have died of guilt if I ever found out."
"Just let me know if you need help, or at least give a heads up if you think things will go south. I may be on the fringes but the Bats and Birds are still allies, nothing better happen ta' Red, yeah hear." Jason turned and headed for his desk, he had plans to make. As he sat down he heard a scuff and looked up. Hex was standing in front off his desk, rocking on their heels. "Ya' need something?"
"I'll be taking the next two nights off, I'll be out of town for a date" Jason felt his brow raise at that. The kid has partner? Huh, would you look at that.
"Oh? Where ya' goin' and who's the unfortunate soul?" Jason smirked at the offended huff he received from the kid.
"1st, None of you business Boss and 2nd, Black Bat." Before Hood could react, Hex had vaulted over the couch and slipped out the door. By the time Jason had gotten up and to the door, Hex was gone.
"Get back 'ere ya' Rat!" Hood yelled down the hall, even knowing it would be useless. "Damn Brat!"
*****
Cass paused in her packing when her phone started blasting 'I'm a Barbie Girl'. Tilting her head in curiosity, she set down the shirt she was folding and went to pick it up. Jason? Why's he calling so late? Sliding her finger over the screen to answer, she quickly held it up to her ear, only to yank it back as Jason's voice blasted through. She stared down at her screen until silence returned before holding it back to her ear. "Done?"
"No, but I've calmed down enough to talk." She hummed as she moved back to her bag. "Are you dating Hex?"
Cass blinked, Did Danny tell him? "Yes."
"Okay, okay. So how do you know my informant?" She could hear Jason shuffling things around and the faint clicks of mental against each other. Probably cleaning his guns.
"Met them first. became friends." She picked up the shirt and another, as she held her phone to her ear with her shoulder, and held it up to compared the two. "Followed them, learned about Hex. Went on date. Been together 3-4 weeks, more if you count hiding feelings."
"Does anyone else know?" Cass thought about it, she hadn't told anyone, neither had Danny, until now, as far as she knew. she shrugged and packed the green shirt. She noticed Danny liked seeing her in their colors.
"No." Silence fell and she went about packing the last of her things, just as she was zipping up her bag, Jason spoke up again.
"They treating ya' good?" She smiled at the very obvious and familiar tone of protectiveness in his voice.
"Yes, very good." She bit back a giggle at the resigned sigh. She fell quiet for moment before whispering. "They are good. Grew up like me, like you. They are hiding but fighting. They are strong."
She could hear Jason's breath hitch. "Okay, I won't ask. I'm happy for you Cass. You think they'll open up more and start interacting with the other Bats and Birds?"
"Yes, they are searching for something. Something will happen but we will be on their side." They were silent for another moment. "They are willing to ask, to trust but need time."
"No pushing, I got it. Bye Cass, have fun on you date!" The line went dead as Cass blushed only for it to deepen as she felt arms wrap around her and fluffy black hair tickle her neck.
"Big brother being over protective?" Cass nod, a shiver ran down her spine as Danny's lips brushed the skin off her shoulder. "You think he'll try to kill me when we get back."
"No. Make you work more." She felt their breath as they let out a groan but giggled as she felt their lips tilt up in a grin.
"It's worth it." Danny spun her around and started leading her into a dance as 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight' began playing softly from her speakers. She let them twirl her around her room before pulling them onto her bed.
"Shouldn't be here." She giggled at their pout. "Brothers, dad, grandpa Alfred and Steph are here. Steph doesn't knock. Dick knocks but will get suspicious if I take too long to answer.
Danny sighed as they flopped back onto her bed and stared at the ceiling. "Hood knows, the others will find out eventually."
"True." She flipped over so she hovered over them."Brothers will give chase if they find you here. Damien is stabby, Dick will hunt. Tim... depends on sleep level. Dad will try to lock me away and will hunt. Alfred will be disappointed."
"So they are fine with you being at my house but not me being in your room?" They raised a brow at her in amusement and she huffed before letting her full weight full onto them. "Oompf! Oi! There’s nothing to worry about. I'll just turn invisible until they leave."
Before she could reply her door was flung open and she found herself face planting her bed. "Hey Cass... What're you doing?"
Cass rolled over and sat up to see Steph in her doorway. "Resting."
"Ah-huh... I was gonna ask if you want to watch a movie and hangout. Since you're leaving tomorrow?" Cass watched as Steph looked around her room, poking at random things as she went.
"Ok, be down now." Cass made a show of picking up the things that didn't make it into her bag, Steph made a sound of agreement and left, swinging the door shut behind her. A minute passed before Danny blinked back into visibility.
"You weren't kidding when you said she doest knock." Cass thew a shirt at their face, which they promptly phased through. "OK, ok. I'll see you tomorrow."
Danny pulled her towards them and places a kiss on her forehead before drifting to the window and fading into invisibility with a wave. She shook her head, a small smile on her lips.
*****
Tim stared at the fifth board, then at the other four and groaned as he slumped into his chair. Hex was an unknown but asking around and looking up sightings he found they're working with Red Hood and showed up a few weeks after Daniel Napier. Tim stood and dragged the new board over to the others. It would seem that Hex was just another identity for one Daniel Napier.
"Just who are you? And what do you want?!" Tim ran his hands through his hair in frustration and sighed. Looks like he's going to be more involved than he thought.

5 Days of Helping You Outline Your Next Novel
Tumblr media
Day 5: Obsidian for Outlining
Find all 5 installments of the mini series: helping you outline your next novel
*I have added a layer of “static” over my screenshots so they are distinctive enough to stand apart from the surrounding text
did you miss this series? here you can find all posts here: [day 1] [day 2] [day 3] [day 4]
Tumblr media
Do you use Obsidian?
What is Obsidian?
A note-taking and knowledge management tool that allows you to create and connect notes seamlessly.
Tumblr media
Uses a local-first approach, meaning your data is stored on your computer, not the cloud (unless you choose to sync).
Features bidirectional linking, which helps create a non-linear, networked way of organizing ideas—great for brainstorming and outlining.
Why should you use Obsidian?
Flexible & Customizable – Unlike rigid writing apps, you can design your own workflow.
Distraction-Free Writing – Markdown keeps the focus on text without extra formatting distractions.
Ideal for Outlining & Organization – Connect story ideas, characters, and settings effortlessly.
Obsidian for Writing
Outlining
Creating a One Pager
Create a single markdown note for a high-level novel summary.
Use headings and bullet points for clarity.
Link to related notes (e.g., character pages, theme exploration).
Here’s an example of an outline I’m currently using. This is what my website will have on it (and what goals I hope to achieve w my website)
Tumblr media
Using the Native Canvas Tool
Use Obsidian’s native Canvas tool to visually outline your novel. (Best on PC)
Create a board with columns for Acts, Chapters, or Story Beats.
Drag and drop cards as the story evolves.
Writing
Why Write Directly in Obsidian?
Minimalist interface reduces distractions.
Markdown-based formatting keeps the focus on words.
No auto-formatting issues (compared to Word or Google Docs).
Why is Obsidian Great for Writing?
Customizable workspace (plugins for word count, timers, and focus mode).
Easy to link notes (e.g., instantly reference past chapters or research).
Dark mode & themes for an optimal writing environment.
Organization in Obsidian
Outlining, Tags, Links
Each chapter, character, important item, and setting can have its own linked note.
Below, for example, you can see the purple text is a linked page directly in my outline.
Tumblr media
Use bidirectional linking to create relationships between (story) elements. Clicking these links will automatically open the next page.
Tags can be used for important characters, items, places, or events that happen in your writing. Especially useful for tracking.
Folders for Efficient Storage
Organize notes into folders for Acts, Characters, Worldbuilding, and Drafts.
Use tags and backlinks for quick navigation.
Creating a separate folder for the actual writing and linking next (chapter) and previous (chapter) at the bottom for smooth navigation.
You can also create and reuse your own internal templates!
Spiderweb Map Feature (Graph View)
Visualize connections between characters, plot points, and themes. Below you’ll see the basic mapping of my website development project.
Tumblr media
This view can help you spot disconnected (floating) ideas and create bridges to them.
Exporting
Why Export?
Ready to format in another program (Scrivener, Word, Docs, Vellum, etc).
Need a clean version (removing tags, notes, etc) for beta readers or editors.
Creating a backup copy of your work.
When should you export?
Personally, I like to export every 5 chapters or so and update my live version on Google Docs. This allows my family, friends, and beta readers to access my edited work.
After finishing a draft or major revision.
Before sending to an editor or formatting for publication.
Where should you export?
Personally I copy and paste my content from each chapter into a google doc for editing. You may also want to make note of the following export options:
Markdown to Word (.docx) – For editing or submitting.
Markdown to PDF – For quick sharing
Markdown to Scrivener – For those who format in Scrivener.

Note
I saw that you use a tablet, a desktop, and paper notes. How do you conciliate those notes?
Is there a mechanism of making primary notes on one resource and then passing those notes to other while reviewing them?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
hi! thanks so much for asking! here are my favorite methods for sharing notes between devices :). i personally have apple devices so i can fairly easily airdrop and sync things between devices, but i also frequently work at the library desktop computers where i can't do that! so here's my tips and tricks for sharing notes between devices
for context: i've been mostly doing digital notetaking recently, but i also like to scan my paper notes as well!
i'm going to be dividing this post into 2 methods! (there will be some overlap). syncing already written notes and syncing notes (in progress) between devices
Tumblr media
for already written notes:
the first step i would take is export your notes as a pdf or any other file type. if they're handwritten try going into your notes app (for ios) or downloading a pdf scanner app for your phone! if your notes are digital check the sharing options in your app to see if there's anything about "exporting".
personally, i like to use either discord or notion. i have created a discord server with only myself that i use just for sharing links/files/anything between devices! i like discord because there's apps for pc, mac, tablets, and phones; and even a web app! discord is really nice and fast, and you can make different channels (as pictured below) for organization. as long as your file size isn't too big, you should be fine.
Tumblr media
my second app i like to use is notion! notion is such a beast in itself, but i like to use it to upload files and images and links! below are two ways i have used it: to upload pdfs/files, and to upload goodnotes (my notetaking app) links to the pages i'm writing on! similar to discord, notion has apps for all devices, but it also works great just by itself on the website (no app required)! it's really great to access it from all my devices.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
another way you could share your notes on different devices is through the cloud! (yes, discord and notion are both through the cloud). google drive, microsoft onedrive, icloud storage, etc. are great tools that you can use to upload files and see on multiple devices. i personally like discord and notion more, just because they're already apps i frequently use, but if you can't get either one cloud-based storage platforms are also a great idea! they definitely have more security than discord or notion, because your files may be at risk of being deleted!
for the purposes of sharing notes to reference on another device when writing an essay, or something of similar vain, i really love discord and/or notion and they both work great!
Tumblr media
for syncing notes in real time:
pretty similar to the last one, i would say notion or google docs (or microsoft word on the web i believe has similar functionality, or onenote, anything similar!)
if you want to be writing notes on one device and have them sync up quickly on another - i think any word processing software is the best bet for you.
both notion and google docs you can access them on any device, and/or on their websites too!
google docs is a lot more straightforward, but since notion is so powerful it provides a lot of flexibility for your notes! here's an (old) example of notes i've taken on notion. (i personally really like how easy it is to make columns!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i hope this helped a little bit! please let me know if you have any more questions :)
also! notetaking is very much an individual thing, if something works for me and doesn't work for you - that's okay! we're all learning and just have to figure out what's best for ourselves.

Cloud Migration and Integration A Strategic Shift Toward Scalable Infrastructure
In today’s digital-first business environment, cloud computing is no longer just a technology trend—it’s a foundational element of enterprise strategy. As organizations seek greater agility, scalability, and cost-efficiency, cloud migration and integration have emerged as critical initiatives. However, transitioning to the cloud is far from a lift-and-shift process; it requires thoughtful planning, seamless integration, and a clear understanding of long-term business objectives.
Tumblr media
What is Cloud Migration and Why Does It Matter
Cloud migration involves moving data, applications, and IT processes from on-premises infrastructure or legacy systems to cloud-based environments. These environments can be public, private, or hybrid, depending on the organization’s needs. While the move offers benefits such as cost reduction, improved performance, and on-demand scalability, the true value lies in enabling innovation through flexible technology infrastructure.
But migration is only the first step. Cloud integration—the process of configuring applications and systems to work cohesively within the cloud—is equally essential. Without integration, businesses may face operational silos, inconsistent data flows, and reduced productivity, undermining the very purpose of migration.
Key Considerations in Cloud Migration
A successful cloud migration depends on more than just transferring workloads. It involves analyzing current infrastructure, defining the desired end state, and selecting the right cloud model and service providers. Critical factors include:
Application suitability: Not all applications are cloud-ready. Some legacy systems may need reengineering or replacement.
Data governance: Moving sensitive data to the cloud demands a strong focus on compliance, encryption, and access controls.
Downtime management: Minimizing disruption during the migration process is essential for business continuity.
Security architecture: Ensuring that cloud environments are resilient against threats is a non-negotiable part of migration planning.
Integration for a Unified Ecosystem
Once in the cloud, seamless integration becomes the linchpin for realizing operational efficiency. Organizations must ensure that their applications, databases, and platforms communicate efficiently in real time. This includes integrating APIs, aligning with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and enabling data exchange across multiple cloud platforms.
Hybrid and Multi-Cloud Strategies
Cloud strategies have evolved beyond single-provider solutions. Many organizations now adopt hybrid (combining on-premise and cloud infrastructure) or multi-cloud (using services from multiple cloud providers) approaches. While this enhances flexibility and avoids vendor lock-in, it adds complexity to integration and governance.
To address this, organizations need a unified approach to infrastructure orchestration, monitoring, and automation. Strong integration frameworks and middleware platforms become essential in stitching together a cohesive IT ecosystem.
Long-Term Value of Cloud Transformation
Cloud migration and integration are not one-time projects—they are ongoing transformations. As business needs evolve, cloud infrastructure must adapt through continuous optimization, cost management, and performance tuning.
Moreover, integrated cloud environments serve as the foundation for emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, data analytics, and Internet of Things (IoT), enabling businesses to innovate faster and more efficiently.
By treating cloud migration and integration as strategic investments rather than tactical moves, organizations position themselves to stay competitive, agile, and future-ready.

When you get hurt
Tumblr media
∙ Word count: 2.6K ∙ Request ♡
“Go! Go! Go! Faster you…” Jimin scolded across the field, using his arms and legs to express himself as Taehyung made his way from one square over to the next. He ran straight past it, reaching the second just as Hoseok fisted the ball between his hands, swinging it up in the air with a loud yelp. “You better not finish that sentence Park Jimin!” Namjoon scolded, causing Jimin to chuckle and call out all the possible options he could have used to do so anyway. A burst of laughter rang through the open air, and you leaned back on your hands in the grass as you enjoyed the rays of sunlight warming up your face.
It was one of the first real beautiful days of the year, and you couldn’t think of a better way to spend it than just so. The first day the sun actually felt warm and cozy, instead of simply shining down and making it seem like summer outside. The air smelt fresh, blossoms hanging on the trees around the open field. Cloud drifted by slowly, making it seem as if time passed leisurely. You sighed, content, as your eyes scanned the boys playing a ‘friendly’ game of baseball.
The guys had just finished filming for their newest episode for In The Soop today. Jungkook had asked you to come by, and you had watched the final few cuts, laughing silently behind the crew, before they wrapped up. You had missed each other a lot recently. Things had been busy on both of your ends. College was being a bitch, and as your paper was due in a few weeks, you spend a majority of your behind your computer, typing away about stuff you thought you barely seemed to know anything about. Jungkook had been away from home none stop, busy promoting, recording in the studio and filming for the next season of In The Soop.
So when he’d asked you over, and you had seemed to have run against a writers block, you hadn’t been able to refuse his offer. Which caused you to be here, in this exact place in this exact time. And you wouldn’t want to be anywhere else at this very moment. You watched him closely as you smiled at his friends. His eyes focused on Hoseok as he threw the ball back to Jin, who was standing on the other end of the field. “Okay, who’s next?” Jin asked, as they waited for another batter to make their way forward. The sun was shining down on his dark hair. His cheeks slightly pink because of the heat.
You were too busy studying your boyfriend’s beautiful expression and didn’t notice Taehyung’s gaze landing on you until the sound of your name reached your ears. “____________! Get up! Take a swing.” Your eyes widened, like a deer in headlights. Jungkook raised his eyebrows at you, and you could see his words to defend you at the already forming on his lips. The thing was, you were pretty bad at sports. No, you were very shitty at sports as a matter of fact. You were the one who was always sitting on the side, cheering everyone on and watching them do great things.
You were amazed by people who were as flexible to reach their fingers to the ground while bending at their hips. Or who shot a ball into the middle of two poles in one kick. But you were always the one sitting out, always the one saying no. And for this once, you didn’t want your boyfriend to have to speak up on your behalf. “Alright.” You mumbled, getting up from your spot and whipping off your hands. What was the worst that could happen? You could make a fool out of yourself, not being able to hit the ball. Cause that was the furthest you would ever get anyway.
This got you a cheer from the guys, even from Jungkook, though it was a surprised one. Jimin handed you the bat, giving you a pat on the shoulder and a huge supportive smile as you took your place at the first base. The bat felt foreign in your grip, heavier than you expected. You swung it from left to right, trying out the best way to hold it, and carefully placed your left hand underneath your right, the way you had seen Taehyung do it before you. Jin crouched down slightly, placing his huge glove in front of himself as he asked you to swing the bat once. As you did, you felt all the muscles you usually never used protest at the sudden movement.
Your cheeks reddened, figured you probably looked funny to your friends. But they were all focused onto the game, eyes on the ball and the bat, too busy to care about your possibly embarrassing yourself. “Okay, let’s give this a try.” Jin said, and he called back from three to one, sending the ball flying towards you right after. The instinct to turn away and run from the flying object racing towards you was overwhelming. But you squared your feet into the grass as it kept on coming closer and your breath hitched in your throat as you swung the bat forward. You heard the clinging sounds of metal taking a hit and watched in awe as the ball went soaring through the air. Disbelieve rushed through you, you’d actually done it, you’d hit it.
“Yes! RUN!” Yoongi shouted, jumping up and down beside you. He gave you a slight shove when you didn’t move, and got you into motion. You ran. Your lungs screamed for oxygen as you passed the first base, making your way towards Taehyung, who was clapping his hands together and chanting you on. You ran past Namjoon, who was guarding the third square, yet he moved over to make room for you as you ran past. Jungkook’s smile reached both of his ear as you shouted your name, and you grinned brightly at him as you raced towards him, taking his stand at the final base. You were going so fast, you felt like flying.
You couldn’t believe they hadn’t caught the ball yet, you couldn’t believe you’d made it this far, you couldn’t believe… Your breath stuttered inside of your throat as you felt your shoe getting stuck in the grass, and you quickly stuck out both of your arms in the hope to balance yourself. But you could feel your left ankle buckle underneath you, and there was no way for you to safe yourself as you went straight down towards the ground. You huffed as you caught yourself on your hands, several feelings flowing through you all at once.  Disappointment, embarrassment, hurt. Your hands stung, and you were grateful for the rather soft underground that took your fall.
“__________!” Jungkook was next to you in an instant, his hands grabbing hold of both of your shoulders as he crouched next to you. You blushed as you noticed the concern that clouded in his eyes as they traced you up and down. “I’m fine.” You mumbled, quickly rubbing your hands against your jeans and tucking your hair behind your ears as the rest of the boys made their way over to where you were sprawled on the grass. If you could brush this off as if it were nothing, maybe you wouldn’t still hear about this next month. “You took a pretty bad tumble though. We should get you inside, check out…” Namjoon started, but you shook your head and took the hand Taehyung extended to you to help you up. The longer you would sit here, the longer you would keep their attention on you. They had to finish the game, and hopefully forget about this terrible moment, even if it were just for a little while.
“NO, no, I’m alright, really! I just slipped.” You let yourself get pulled back onto your feet, but as you leaned down on your left one, a stabbing pain shot through your calf, all the way up to your knee. You hissed, quickly hopping on your other feet trying to avoid it. “Did you sprain it?” Jin frowned, and quickly moved closer to you so you could lean your weight on him while standing on one leg. “No, it’s nothing…” You repeated, not sounding as convinced this time around. Tears stung your eyes; but you blinked in the hope to hide it. Jungkook crouched down in front of you, tucking up the leg of your pants, and he hissed between his teeth at what he saw. Your heard leaped inside of your chest.
“It’s swelling.” He stated, and stood back up to look you in the eye. His worry showed all over his face, and you felt stupid for even trying to take your turn at swinging your bed, knowing it would end this way or another. “I’m sorry.” You mumbled, and he shook his head as he got to your other side and together with Jin they helped you to hobble over towards the house. They sat you down on the couch, and you heard Jungkook ask his friends to call a doctor as you settled down. You wanted to tell them no, that it wasn’t necessary to fuss about this. But your ankle was starting to throb, and the pain was increasing slightly. “There’s nothing to apologize for, you didn’t do anything wrong.” He said as he grabbed a chair and popped your feet up on it.
Yoongi came back carrying a bag of pees, and you took a sharp intake of breath when he placed it on top of your ankle. Because of the cold or the tenderness, you weren’t quite sure. “I should’ve known better though.” You mumbled, feeling more and more stupid with every passed minute. Jungkook clacked his tongue as he sat down on the couch next to you. You could smell him, a mix of his cologne, sweat and outdoor, fresh air. “You hit that ball perfectly though, did you see it soaring?” He said, a little proud smile on his face as he flattened your hair against your head, lowering them down and squeezing your cheeks between them. You smiled slightly as your leg started to feel cold. “It was a stupid idea.” You held on as a man in a blue jacket approached you, introducing himself as a paramedic. You tensed as he crouched down next to you and took your foot off the chair, starting to take off your shoe in order to look at your ankle.
Jungkook squeezed your hand, silently letting you know he was there with you. “I’m proud of you.” He said, before turning to take hear what the doctor had to say about your condition. You could tell he was trying to hide of worried he actually was, but there was a permanent frown in between his eyebrows which he couldn’t seem to ease. “This is pretty swollen. When did you say it happened?” The man asked, and your boyfriend slid forward towards the edge of the sofa to get a better look. “Just a few minutes ago.” The doctor hummed, and you sputtered uncomfortably as he pressed the sole of your feet, checking if anything was broken.
Jungkook wrapped his arm around your shoulders, rubbing up and down your arm in an easing way. “I don’t think it’s broken. But we should probably check if you didn’t damage any of your ligament. Just to be sure.” The paramedic muttered thoughtfully, as he put down your foot. Jungkook seemed to stiffen beside you, and his expression clearly showed he was upset. “She needs to go to the hospital?” He asked, his voice a little higher than just now. The guy held his head towards the side, clearly thinking that question through. “It’s really starting to hurt though…” You brought forward, thinking that maybe a little check up was for the best. You didn’t want to miss anything. The doctor nodded, informing you that he was going to go and get the car.
Jungkook turned towards you, his emotions showing all over his face. “I’m so sorry I didn’t speak up for you, I should have said something. I should’ve told the guys you didn’t want to play. This is all my fault.” He said, hiding his face in his hands, disappointed in himself. You shook your head, forcing him to look up at you and pressing your hands up against his cheeks. “No, it’s not. I wanted to play, I truly did. I wanted to do this right for once. But hey, better luck next time.” You tried to force a smile in order to cheer him up, but you could tell he wasn’t easily fooled. “You don’t have to pretend not to be hurt for me.” He said, and wrapped your arms around you, one of his hands cradling the back of your head as the other wrapped around your middle and cuddled you against him.
“I’m the one who should be taking care of you baby.” He muttered inside of your hair, kissing the top of your crown and rubbed his cheek down on it. Inside of his embrace, the throb inside of your leg didn’t even seem to mind you that much. Someone called out, saying the car was ready, and you got ready to remove yourself from his hug and push yourself up from the couch when he stopped you. Placing one arm underneath your knees and one behind your back he smoothly lifted you up from the couch. You could have sworn you’d heard Jimin cough something which sounded a lot like “Show off” somewhere from behind you when he carried you towards the hallway.
“When this is all done I’m going to take you home and I’m going to spoil you all night.” Jungkook stated, pressing another peck on your temple as he made his way through the front door and towards the car. “I hate the thought that you’re hurt.” He continued, and pouted as someone opened the car door and he carefully put you down in the back seat of the car. His intense gaze locked with yours as he tucked your hair behind your ear. “I did hit that ball though. If I just hadn’t tripped over my own stupid feet…” You pouted, not sure what disappointed you more, the fact that you were about to be on your way to the hospital, of that you never got to finish that game. “Sweety, that would have been a absolute homerun. But that’s fine, cause you check all my bases.” He wiggled his eyebrows at you, and you hit his shoulder as you snorted at his terrible cheesy line.
He reached over to fasten your seatbelt and chuckled. “Didn’t like it? How about this one? Are you one the outfield? Because you’re an angel.” You laugh continued as he closed the car door, walked around from the back and got into the backseat beside you. He fastened his own seatbelt as the driver started the car and drove off the driveway. “That’s absolutely terrible.” You chuckled, and laced your fingers with his as he reached for your hands. “I wield a big stick?” He tried again, and you swore your whole body shuddered with laughter as you made your way over to the hospital, your pain disappearing into the background, as long as he was with you.

Kolyastavia Marie Zofastria
The protagonist of my Fate fanfiction, Fate/Destiny Shift
(she/her)
art by @paperwick
Fun facts about Kolya:
•Kolya can cook! She can't use knives anymore (her numb hands and lack of proprioception means she'd frequently cut her own fingers and not even notice), but she'd never ask for help on her own. Particularly good with western food, she's especially good with soups and stews, and prefers spicy food that borders on painful to eat. She needs to be physically restrained from access to Tabasco sauce.
•Kolya's hobbies are varied, but somewhat limited by her condition(s), including but not limited to: Piano (can still play!), Ballet (cannot anymore, though she's still intent to relearn it), Origami (cannot anymore, but she has origami moths down to muscle memory), Cloud-watching (Can), feeding stray cats (can and will), and miniature ice sculptures (can, but needs magic).
•Kolya's symbolic animal is a moth, specifically the White Winter Moth.
•While familiar with modern technology, Kolya has no idea how to work a computer.
•⌆ⱐ☧⭛⥠ⲇ⨝⟷⿊⊭⣳⵷⧱▣ⲏ.
•Kolya is ???sexual and ???romantic. She's never had time to think about either facet of her life. Until very recently, she was fully prepared to marry and spend her life with whoever was chosen as her spouse for the sake of inter-family politics. She considers this being "flexible" and "suited to the needs of the Zofastria family."
•Her favorite drink is a vodka gimlet. Coffee if alcohol isn't involved.
•Kolya is ambidextrous, although you'd have a hard time knowing it. Neither hand works especially well, but they're equally dominant.
•Kolya owns nine copies of her favorite outfit. Just in case.

it's munday so i wanted to do a munday meme...i stole this one from the tag because i didn't like most of the ask prompts lol
ROLEPLAYER NAME: Ren or Cloud.
ROLEPLAYER PRONOUNS: he/they.
MUSE NAME: Shadow the Hedgehog BABYYYYYY
PREFERRED COMMUNICATION: Tumblr IMs if we are new mutuals or if we only talk every once in a while to hash out plotting and stuff or ask questions about a thread on occasion ; Discord otherwise
EXPERIENCE: I've been rping online since I had access to a computer but I had a blog on tumblr in 2016 I ran for almost a year and then I came back to making and running blogs more often on tumblr starting with Shadow in 2019.
PREFERRED ROLEPLAY TYPE: Longer running threads are my preference, I hate starting stuff to get like a reply or two into it before dropping it. I usually like starting things by either sending or receiving asks and developing kind of on the fly from there, then plotting as needed / if there's something specific we want to do. I'm pretty flexible with planning as things come up and I can feel stuck if stuff is too rigid with where we want it to go, but sometimes having a general direction helps a lot, as long as we're cool with getting distracted on the way lol.
PET PEEVES & DEALBREAKERS: The aforementioned 2 replies on a post before it's dropped just to continue the plotline in another thread. I don't mind dropping threads, sometimes not every thread is a banger or you lose muse and that's fine. What I do mind is assuming the other thread has been completed and just continuing in a new one. I like plotting but I like to write the plots out, so I don't really like using the assumption of OOC chatter to fill in the blanks if that makes sense, especially with a character like Shadow who is kind of hard to get to know and track how he evolves over time and stuff.
Also, I'm not follow-for-follow, if I follow you I want to see what you're writing and interact, it's not just a placeholder thing I do. I hate radio silence on stuff I'm posting like headcanon posts or when people don't send asks or like calls or do starters when I've liked theirs in the meantime--mainly this is a problem if someone's active pretty often on the dash. Sucks to be giving people likes and stuffs to get nothing in return. I think since coming back to this blog I've been better about just softblocking when this crops up though; it really annoys me and I'm at a point where I prefer writing with smaller amounts of people than I do "putting my muse out there" anyways.
PLOTS OR MEMES: Oops I guess I kind of answered this already but I'm a bit of both. I like to use memes and asks to start threads and then branch out from there as needed. Sometimes a silly ask can create great opportunities for other threads, like when Fer and I wrote a thread where Shadow was talking about his air shoes that's since evolved into a separate thread with them shopping in Metal City. Sheena, Foxbee and I are always chatting about our threads too before it turns into "hey that's a good idea for another one to do sometime." It's been really fun.
LONG REPLIES OR SHORT REPLIES: I inevitably am drawn to longer replies overtime. I think I typically average about 2-5 paras. Sometimes one-liners and crack replies are fun, but they aren't really my thing for serious development and "canon" stuff on the blog. I like being able to bust out a single paragraph in a reply though and hit send. Makes me feel like a master of Succinctness.
BEST TIME TO WRITE: I work from home so honestly I'm on my computer all day M-F so...then. LOL my job is really boring
ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSES: I think inevitably people put a little of themselves into every muse they write. Just kinda comes with the territory of being a writer. So yes but also no. We have a lot of similarities I think but there's a lot of differences too. I don't really like just writing myself over and over again anyway, it gets boring. But sometimes it can be funny to write something and be like "Wait, I do that!"
because i stole this from the tag i'm not tagging anyone so just feel free to do it if you want to. happy munday
