Shadow x GN Reader

Ugly Sweaters

"I could easily overpower you, you can't make me go." Shadow stated in protest.

"too bad, Rouge and I both told Sonic you'd be coming."

"And when did I agree to this?"

"You haven't, but you will when you see the sweater we found for you."

You handed shadow the bag containing the sweater. he opened it looking at it's contents he looked at you confused and slightly offended.

"Why the hell would this make me want to go?"

"because it's an ugly sweater party."

Shadow looked at the sweater again the joke finally dawning on him. He gave you a devilish grin.

"I'm in."

the two of you arrived to the party dressed in your sweaters almost everybody was there. Amy was the first to greet you.

"Shadow Y/N you made it let me see your sweaters!" she looked at yours first. "Oh I love the tree so cute! and shadow yours is-" she did a double take making sure she was seeing it correctly.

the green sweater seemed pretty unassuming that is until you got to the middle. A circle of snowflakes highlighted the Sonic head in the middle giving everyone who looked at it his iconic smile.

"Wow! What an unexpected choice, it's nice I love it!"

Rouge was the next to welcome the two of you a satisfied smile was plastered on her face as if she just pulled off the heist of the century.

"Well hello you two, nice sweaters."

Immediately Shadow suspected something was up but before he could interrogate Sonic came to greet the two of you.

"Hey Guys, Glad you could make it nice ugly sweat- Hey!"

Shadow grinned glad that the joke wasn't lost on his rival.

"Hey Sonic like my sweater?"

Sonic approached moving between Amy and Rouge so that the two of you could clearly see his sweater.

His sweater was incredibly similar it was red with black snowflakes going down the arms the but most noticeably the head in the middle was not his own but Shadow's.

"Depends how do you like mine?"

Rouge burst into laughter enjoying the results of her plan being played to perfection.

"I just want to state for the record I had no idea about this" you said while struggling not to laugh.

Amy finally getting the joke shouted in protest. "Hey, not cool you two! I think Sonic is plenty handsome and I think Y/N doesn't need to explain their attraction to Shadow."

"That's true Amy, Shadow has no business being your sweater Sonic."

"And what about me on your boyfriend's sweater?"

"I chose to support his actions" you responded with a smile

Sonic chuckled

"Fair enough. Now what was that you said about me Amy?" Sonic teased

"uhhh... Nothing! I said Nothing!"

"Oh really? Because I'm pretty sure you just called me handso-"

"OH LOOK EVERYBODY HERE COMES KNUCKLES!" Amy shouted in a panic.

"Hey guys, what's goin on" knuckles walked in "woah! nice sweater Shadow." joining the small circle that had been forming you couldn't help but notice that he was wearing the exact same sweater that Shadow was.

you couldn't contain your laughter anymore joining rouge on the floor. everybody else following suit. the laughter filled the air spreading cheer throughout the party. The night was filled with laughter as more and more people showed up seeing the sweaters and realizing the humor of it all.

it was the most fun you'd seen Shadow have at one of these events, even striking up a pleasant conversation with sonic and tails. toward the end of the night you got a quiet moment alone with him.

"You glad I dragged you here tonight?" you asked

"it wasn't so bad I suppose." he wrapped his arm around you pulling you in and giving you a kiss on the forehead. "of course things are always better when you're with me."

smiling you snuggled into him more soaking up the moment before you returned to the party.

So apart from missing the opportunity to spend some non-Formula One time with him, Lance was actually a bit relieved. “You’ve got nothing to apologise for.”

“Is it over? Why are you alone?” Fernando couldn’t pick up any normal party sounds in the background, nor could he see any people milling about.

Shadvent calendar Day 4

Shadow x GN Reader

Bundle up

Your hands moved carefully across the hangers looking for the one article of clothing you needed most, your favorite sweater. It was the thickest one in your wardrobe and in the below freezing weather it was an absolute necessity. Finding it lodged between two shirts you quickly freed it and put it on hoping it would start to protect you from the frigid air.

Your snow pants were an easy find bottom drawer on your right. Slipping them on, you began to look for your snow boots. Easier said than done. Sifting through the shelves you couldn't seem to locate them.

"Are you almost ready yet?" Shadow asked as he entered your shared closet. He was already dressed for the weather and had been waiting for you for almost fifteen minutes now.

"Almost I'm just looking for my boots."

Shadow moved over to a shelf you swore you looked through at least a dozen times and produced your snow boots with ease.

"you mean these ones?"

"how did you... I swear I looked there."

Shadow chuckled.

"it's a secret, now hurry up"

"alright alright, I'm going"

Once fully dressed the two of you made your way over to the front door putting on your coats. You pulled on your hat adjusting it in the mirror to your liking, shadow then took your scarf and gently wrapped it around you.

Even now you still blushed when he did things like that, things so wonderful that you could hardly believe that you were lucky enough to have him in your life and that he loved you.

"All ready my love"

"Ready"

The two of you left your warm home behind, exploring the winter wonderland that had been bestowed upon the two of you.

The two of you walked hand in hand creating your own path through the freshly fallen snow. The snow crunching beneath your feet. Snowflakes danced throughout the air landing on your faces making you giggle as the wind tickled your cheeks turning them pink from the cold.

The world was quiet everything felt still like a beautiful picture just for the two of you to enjoy.

Halfway through your walk you began to crave more of Shadow's warmth.

"oh no! I think I forgot some of my winter gear." You exclaimed, formulating your plan.

"What could you have possibly forgotten your wearing like four layers of clothing. Do we need to go back."

Without missing a beat you pulled Shadow's arm around your shoulders snuggling into him, the familiar scent of lavender entering your scenes once again.

"No I got it" you said smiling at the perfect execution of your plan.

Shadow grinned at your excitement placing a kiss on your cheek warming it with his breath.

"Yes, you did. Are you plenty warm now?"

"nice and toasty."

The two of you continued your walk. All the way home Shadow kept his arm around you not moving it from your arms even once making sure he kept you nice and warm.

woah woah okay okay I saw someone else writing it out so I decided to do that too 😋

(now I am emotional over something that never happened)

“You’re- you’re here??!”

She shifted her stance and looked at me strangely, not that I blame her, this was strange. The character I created and loved for so long had suddenly appeared in my room, not exactly the everyday scenario for both of us.

“Uh yeah..who are you?” I knew her better than anyone, which sounds weird now that she was a real being in front of me. I knew behind that glare that she was actually scared, so I tried to come off as non-threatening as I could. 

I gestured to my chair that was right next to her, “have a seat, there’s a lot to explain.”

She stayed standing, not surprising. 

“Explain? Did you send me here?” She demanded, stepping closer to get a good look at me. She was intimidating, oh my Ezerk why did I make her intimidating?

“No..” I started slowly. “But you may have because of a..certain connection.”

I looked at her but she didn’t say anything, waiting for me to continue. 

“This is a bit hard to explain haha but..I kinda created you.”

“What on Alias are you talking about?”

“Ah I created that too actually..” I smiled nervously. 

Over the course of ten intimidating moments I tried to explain how I’d been writing a story, and she was a part of that. I got the sense she didn’t believe me. She did eventually take a seat though.

“Let me guess, you ate a piece of chocolate and ended up here?” I said.

“That’s right.” She chose her words carefully. She definitely thought I was crazy, maybe ate too many mushrooms, but she seemed more relaxed. Or at least, the most relaxed she can be. Which is instead of a deathly glare just an annoyed expression, not sure which one is worse. 

“So what do I have to eat more chocolate to go back?” She said impatiently. 

“Well the thing about that is…”

“24 hours?!” She stood up and looked around the room, maybe for more chocolate or an exit that would suddenly appear. 

I felt a little dumb, here I had a golden opportunity with someone I knew better than myself, and I was all scared. I felt some confidence swell in me, some excitement. 

“Maybe it won’t be so bad,” I suggested. “You can’t be too different from me, I did create you after all.”

“I’m gonna put aside any religious beliefs that you’ve been contradicting…”

“..sorry..”

 She sighed, “I guess one day couldn’t be too bad. They won’t miss me.”

I perked up, “oh Alphair and Rufus?”

She groaned a little, “ugh that’s right that means you must have created them too. Did you really have to give me such annoying friends?”

I laughed, if she wasn’t going to kill me before she definitely was going to now. 

“Oh, you called them your friends.” I smiled knowingly.

“What are you smiling at??”

“It’s just so hard to get you to confess that.”

She frowned deeper but I knew she wasn’t that annoyed, “you could wave your pen or whatever and make me say that.”

I thought for a moment, “it’s a little more complicated than that.” I tried to explain how the characters feel alive, and this case really were, so controlling them to your will wasn’t easy or the best way to do things. 

“I don’t really get it but at least you don’t make me say sappy stuff.”

“Hah your welcome.”

Things weren’t so bad after that, she seemed reluctant to talk but I knew how to get her comfortable and willing to talk to me. Sort of, it wasn’t easy but I felt like I got to know her better than I ever did writing her. I learned she spends a lot of time looking out of windows, her face quite soft and sadder than she usually let it get. Turns out she hates hot drinks, cold ones are the way to go. She also really likes roller skates. She would not let me have them back once she put them on.

And then the 24 hours were up.

It felt like saying goodbye to my best friend, sister, and twin all at the same time. I knew I’d still see her, but not in the same way I’d gotten to in these last 24 hours.

I felt like crying, which I almost did.

She looked around nervously, waiting to be whisked back home. She noticed my welled up eyes and shaking hands.

“Hey..it’s okay. You’ll still see me right? You’ll write about me for a long time right?” 

It was sweet, if it didn’t sound so much like a threat. But I got where she was coming from x

“I promise, I won’t stop for a long time.”

She looked like she wanted to say more but smiled a little instead, “and make those two idiots less annoying will you?”

“No promises there!” I laughed and felt better. 

One second she was there, and another she wasn’t. 

This was going to be a weird rest of my life.

Day 4 and 5 - The Teleport and Compliment Chocolates

Both you and your OC receive a chocolate this time! Your poor OC of choice by now should know better than eat whatever they find around. Yet, today too their curiosity prevailed. They ate a chocolate that teleported them into your room! They are stuck here with you for 24 hours. How will you manage? Will you get along? Where will they sleep? How will the day pass by?
