In preparation for exploring Fire Pro Wrestling Card Bout, it's essential to first have a concise overview of the history of Fire Pro Wrestling.

Fire Pro Wrestling Combination Tag marked the inception of the renowned Fire Pro Wrestling series, hitting the gaming scene on June 22nd, 1989. Developed by Human Entertainment, this milestone title made its debut exclusively for the PC Engine platform in Japan. As the inaugural entry in the series, Fire Pro Wrestling Combination Tag holds a significant place in the history of wrestling video games.

in art there is an inherent tension between nature and nurture. is the conflict between those simple executions that are known to work, that stimulate base parts of our sensorioum and brain and thus of massive appeal, easy to grasp and enjoy; against things that are dense in technique, and concept, for which one has to develop a language, a technical understanding and a taste, hermetic and not easy to grasp at once.

i think most of the public expects most art to fall on the first cathegory to some degree or another. a painting should look "pretty", whatever pretty means, a song should be "catchy", food should be "tasty", a joke should be "funny", a movie should be "entertaining". either way, the point is that art should "feel good" or rather it should "click" in a quick sensory way. that when you watch a movie its quality should be as immediatly appreciable as when you eat a good meal. and when they hear experts try to explain more advanced pieces they are expecting to hear an explination that makes it so that those advnaced pieces stimulate those simple buttons that more simple stuff so easily satisfies. but of course they never get that, instead they get a bunch of theory that does nothing to make the art any closer in a purely sensorial way.

the idea that in order to appreciate something one has to first develop an understanding or appreciation of it feels counter intuitive, it feels like enjoying art with extra steps, you have to force yourself to extract joy out of something (which is not a pleasant experience, there is always that frustration of the excercise not feeling genuine, not feeling true and emotionally potent, it feels like an affectation) in order to extract the joy and entertainment that one could get much easier from something more direct and simple.

for some people having fun listenting to a catchy jingle made with the classic 4 chords or eating a nice chocolate cake feels more "natural" than listening to prog rock or reading infinite jest. its almost teleological. our tongues were Made to enjoy sugar, that is how things are meant to be because that is how nature designed us. in a sense the studying of art techniques is basically the analisis and compilation of the formulas that work, of the buttons that one has to press to stimulate the human animal in the correct way. we know how the pentatonic scale works, on almost a biological level, we have color theory, we have composition, we understand the three act structure.

so one might ask, why even bother with the weirder stuff, the stuff that is hard to appreciate? the stuff that we kind of have to shape ourselves into enjoying? its artificial, its purely a social construct. is not real, humans were not made for this.

well, the truth is, humans are much more versatile than that, and whilst we are all born with some basic buttons that anyone can push to satisfy, it is also in our nature the capacity to develop more buttons, more complex and intricate. buttons that start to crave for layers, for nuance, for the weird and ecclectic and unique. people DO develop a taste for special, particular old wines that were cultivated in such and such a way, people DO get a lot of meaning from the works of john cage, people DO have fun reading ulysses and these things are not necesarily an affectation. and this is a process that will happen on its own the more we are exposed to more and more art.

i do want to clarify, i dont believe in teleological arguments or appeals to nature. even if that last paragraph wasnt the case, that wouldnt change anything for me, but still, it is the case and i think its worth being said.

now, a lot of people see the developing of their taste as a challenge or an obligation, which can make it an imposition and rob the enjoyment out of it. god knows i forced myself to watch some movies simply because i thought they were the kinds of movies i was supposed to like if i wanted to consider myself a cinephile. i dont think this is a good approach, experiment and push yourself out of your comfort zone, yes, that is how you discover new things. but dont force yourself to stay there if its just not doing it for you. i came to terms with the fact i will probably never understand pollock no matter how many of his paintings i see or how much i study on the subject. but i have come to discover i do like donna tart's the goldfinch quite a lot.

and this doesnt go just for the higher forms of art, try those "trashy" things that come from spaces that are not your scene at all. i was convinced i was never going to be able to enjoy cumbia or trap or bachata and yet i kept my ears open and ended up finding songs in all of those genres that i cant stop listenting to. there are so many buttons inside of you and you dont know what is going to press of of them by surprise one of these days.

PSA AI ART CAN LOOK LIKE ANY ART!!!

People keep sending troll asks about why I do this. It is important to do because I did not realize before and I think so many people not realize AI art can look EXACTLY like human art. I find art posts and even REBLOG and later find out theyre AI??? It happen to me in MULTIPLE FANDOMS and I am TIRED. I thought AI art was ugly monsters with black hole for eyes but now it tricks us into believing it is a real art. There are warnings sighs but most of all, because is so close to a truly human creation, there is no way to be sure without video. I see @azula-brain post and it give helpful clues, which is why I ASK PROOF AND DO NOT ACCUSE just warning signs I have pointed out and the rest of us can look for is too different styles, too fast improvement, lots of posting, trouble drawing hands, and smudgey watercolor styles. I also seen AI art using chibi and simple desighs with very simple eyes so that can help too.

I AM NOT TRYING TO ATTACK we just need to be careful with how close AI mimics to real human arts. AI even can do musics and voices and videos now. THIS IS A GROWING PROBLEM SO THERE NEEDS TO BE A BETTER SOLUTION. I think video proof is a good solution but nobody has sent video proof. What are other solutions??? I DONT WANT ARGUING I JUST WANT A SOLUTION. I WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO GET A JOB AS AN ARTIST IN A FUTURE LIKE THIS!!!!!! Do you see the problem? hey!! all the blinkies.cafe code is open-source on Github so you can look at how i do it. a few caveats though:

the code is messy in places, and not well-documented

web/html is not my strong suit, so there are better/simpler ways to do it

anyways, here's how my tagging system works:

metadata for all the images is stored in a JSON file that contains unique IDs (like "0222-construction") and a list of tags (like ["rainbow", "amy"]) for each image.

the gallery page's cafe.js script reads the images' metadata from the JSON file.

cafe.js has an event listener (selectTags.onchange) so that whenever a new tag is selected from the dropdown, it runs the filterTag(tag) function, passing the selected tag as an argument.

the filterTag(tag) function creates a new copy of the image metadata list. it goes through each item in this new copy, reads the tags, and removes it from the list if the selected tag is not in the image's tag list. it then returns the filtered image metadata list, which now only contains images with matching tags.

the selectTags.onchange event listener then runs another function which updates the src of the page's elements using the filtered image metadata list.

hello, it's occured to me that i haven't posted anything about my vampire characters/story. so here it is. i'm making a height reference sheet for the main characters so i'll reblog this when i'm done

up first we have Luca and Aurora Direvenom-Grimeye as well as Marcel Grimeye-Direvenom

now for the human side of the cast. first we have Amaris Misttide-BrightThorn, Solana BrightThorn-Misttide aaaaaand Straw

*Note #1: Aurora and Marcel named Luca after her father, Dracula

Solana told him, when he woke up, to pick a name for himself. he saw a piece of straw and the rest is history. however, years later he was told he pointed at a piece of hay, which made him have a mini-crisis(but he is stuffed with straw, which the couple told him and he calmed down right away)

>despite word of Van Helsing being banned from the Grimeye Castle quickly spreading after the accident, other members of the vampire clans(there being 20) still enlist his help, whether it's to be a form of protection, an assassin or most anything else they ask of him

Helsing. many of these vampire hunters learned the ways of magic, more specifically werewolf magic. the family would either learn the magic to become a werewolf by magic or by enchanting jewelry with said magic. however, as the years went on, the family slowly transitioned to using enchanted jewelry instead. while turning into a werewolf at night was definitely useful, the enchanted jewelry was more advantageous as the users could transform into a werewolf at any time of the day. either method of turning into a werewolf the vampire hunter would have to rest for up to eight hours or more after a transformation(the amount of rest depends on the activities and duration of the said transformation)

*Note #4: Jonathan's first name is inspired by(believe it or not) Jonathan from Mel Brooks' Dracula: Dead and Loving It and his father's name is inspired by none other than Simon Belmont from Castlevania

i think that's about it for now but if i have any other information that i may be forgetting at the moment(as it's 3:41 AM as i'm typing this and it took me probably half an hour to write all this rip) i will provide an update. and feel free to ask for any additional information about anything involving the characters and the story ^v^

Laying The Foundation- 006

Today was a small but important lesson. I went over more advanced techniques of highlight and shadow and how to use these on more advnaced and organic shapes.

The first task was shading a more complex 3D object which I feel I’ve nailed down now. The second task was bit more tricky; taking a 2D organic shape and shading it to give an illusion of 3D. It was hard to know where to shade and for a while I wasn’t seeing the effect but eventually I got it.

Task 3 stepped up the complexity. I was tasked with drawing a rock, which has different angles and faces on it. I had to decide where the top of the rock would be and then shade accordingly, adding other features like holes and cracks and divets. This was helpful as it seems that in real life there is going to be complexities like this in anything I would draw.

Task 4 was using highlight and shadow on a form made out of different shapes (a square, a cylinder and a sphere). I was really happy with how it turned out and found the techniques useful as again, real life objects are going to be more complex than simple geometric shapes.

Tomorrow I’m going to practice these techniques over some more objects, as well as go over some stuff I wasn’t 100% confident on over the week.
