“How did you know where to find me?” She asked, wriggling her fingers nervously. “You didn't show up for class, Miss Montgomery," the ex-Auror replied evasively, leaning on the mantelpiece. “Miss Onai was concerned about your absence, and in a rather belligerent manner addressed the matter to your… friend, Mr. Sallow.” Something in the way Sharp said "friend" cut Nancy's ear unpleasantly. She shamefully averted her eyes. Aesop continued. “Mr. Sallow, I must say, was expressing an extreme degree of bewilderment, and if my experience with people is of any reference — he truly didn't know anything about your whereabouts,” Montgomery absorbed every word he said, aware that a heavy stone was falling from her heart. “You and I were extremely lucky that in my search for you, one of the first places I decided to check was Feldcroft.” “You saved me again, Professor. I didn't deserve it," Nancy replied sullenly after a brief pause.

Oh, sorry-sorry, have completely forgotten to post an update about the chapter here! Well, no time like the present to dwell on the retrospective of what actually happened while Nancy was held captive at Rookwood's. The sixteenth chapter is out and all our favourite characters got a part to play!

History/Fun Facts:

Severus’ childhood is pretty much the same, as in, it wasn’t the greatest.

When his mother and father first got together, they were smitten with each other, the two living their best lives together, Tobias getting his dream job and Eileen graduating from Hogwarts, now being able to stay with the man of her dreams.

Even when Severus was born things were pretty good, Eileen having always wanted a child, and Tobias’ job bringing in more than enough money to support them.

This was until Tobias lost his job, thanks to the company closing its doors.

This causes Tobias and Eileen to go into a depression, no longer having the money that they once had.

Eileen manages to find a small job, but it isn’t really enough to support the three of them, leading Tobias to turn to drinking to relieve his sorrow.

His drinking starts out as an occasional thing, the alcohol being like a reward at the end of the week. The drinking then turns more and more heavy, leading him to become abusive when angry, which was more often than Eileen or Severus could care for.

The only time would get relieved of the pain is when Tobias passes away due to his drinking.

After his passing, Elieen moves back to the wizarding world, bringing Severus with her, as she knew that this would be a safe place for them as they were both wizards.

This lasts until Voldemort rises and begins his attack on half-bloods, Eileen sacrificing herself to save Severus.

After murdering Severus’ mother, Voldemort offers the young boy to join him, who declines, having seen the strange-looking man kill his mother, the only person he had left.

As the mad sorcerer was about to murder the young child in front of him, a man appeared in front of Severus, protecting him.

This man was Albus Dumbeldore.

Aesop Sharp kept quite a sizable amount of memorabilia. After all, it was far from uncommon for a wizard or witch of a certain esteem to own and proudly display their own sets of dust-catchers. The ones he and Dinah in particular owned could sometimes be slightly… gruesome. Severed hands and taxidermied werewolves truly helped bring out the aesthetics, Aesop thought with an amused snort. Those were the things visible to many people, things Dinah used in her lessons, and items Aesop scared the potential unwanted guest to his rooms with.

However, the things he truly considered ‘treasures’, though they were anything but, were all hidden away safely at his home, oftentimes away from people’s eyes, even his own, occasionally hidden in plain sight, disguised as everyday items of little value. 

His ‘official’ Auror badge was displayed upon his desk in his classroom, but it was always the unofficial one he held in higher regard, that one that had the word Auror written on it in scraggly letters and with the R’s facing the opposite way. That was the badge his best friend gave him before the two of them knew how to write well. It was something that hurt him to look at, yet at the same time one of the things he grew panicked about when he couldn’t find it…

More items were like that; old photographs, little notes, useless little trinkets he didn’t have the heart to throw away, but wasn’t able to face them either. They held the past long gone, not only the events that transpired, but the kind of person he was, the kind of person he used to be. And they used to haunt him.

And then there were the things hidden in plain sight - one of which was an entirely ordinary tweed bunnet, hung upon one of the hooks in the hallway of his house. Visible to anyone and everyone who visited (though the number of such people wasn’t exactly high), but so inconspicuous, it tended to get entirely overlooked. There were only two people in the world who knew the true value of the simple headwear, and that was Aesop himself, and his dear mother. Only those two knew that this hat, bought in 1851 for 7 shillings and 10 pennies all the way in Glasgow was, in fact, priceless.

It had belonged to Aesop’s father, with whom Aesop was allowed desperately little time, but who nevertheless helped shape the child into the man ha was now, his presence, while fleeting, never truly leaving him, and his scent still lingering upon the bunnet, both like a sweet reminder, and a bitter regret. A number of his father’s clothes were given away to those who needed them, as Theodore Sharp would’ve liked, having been the kind man he was, and the rest got somehow lost along the way. Only the hat remained.

And it was his sweetheart who brought his attention to it after many years he, too, spent ignoring the fact it was even there.

She had a tendency to do that.

Her innocent curiosity, as well as the desire to know him better, prompted Aesop to fish out many of his secret little treasures to show her. Things that he was frightened to look at in fear of once more experiencing the horrible wave of remembering of what was, and what could have been. But with her… With her it was different. With her he wasn’t afraid.

Little by little, he felt safe enough to unearth things he buried well and deep, from those little trinkets, to his very first ‘Auror badge’. And once he explained to her the meaning they held to him, he found that he no longer wanted to hide them away. The sorrow was still there, but so was the love, and the joy he experienced when handling these items for the first time. Things he used to hide away started to get displayed alongside her own memorabilia. It was only fair, he’d decided finally - those were, after all, the items that shaped them and followed them through their lives.

And then, one day, she finally noticed the hat. 

A part of Aesop winced, unsurprisingly - It’s been very nearly four whole decades, and yet the grief was still there… He supposed it was something that would never leave, truly leave. However, what was surprising was that a part of him felt… elated. Like it’s been waiting for her to bring the bunnet up for a long time. A part of himself wanted to acknowledge one of the few things he still had left from his father. 

He slowly walked over to his sweetheart, and took the hat out of her gentle hold. Without thinking and without shame, he brought the headwear to his nose, his senses immediately registering the oh so familiar scent, and it was enough to make his eyes glisten. She watched him silently, mindful not to do or say anything that would get him to close up again, but much less so than she was in the beginning. However, Aesop could see there was something she was stopping herself from saying…

“What is it?” he asked softly, voice heavy with emotion. She smiled gently, but shook her head. “I want to know,” Aesop insisted, his free hand coming up to stroke her smooth, soft cheek.

“You should try it on,” she said, her voice so quiet only Aesop could hear it. His heart skipped a beat. He observed the bunnet in his hold, feeling conflicted. On one hand, he didn’t want to… break the strange spell the hat put on him, the knowledge that this was his father’s hat by wearing it, but on the other… On the other hand, knowing he was wearing something that belonged to his father other than his pocket watch held a strange sort of appeal. He always loved the bunnet, and he fondly remembered his dad plopping it onto his small head when he was but a wee lad.

His sweetheart gently took it from his hold, and, moving very slowly so that Aesop could stop her anytime, began lowering it upon his head. Aesop didn’t stop her. 

Instead, he gently grabbed her hands to help her, soon feeling the warm material sitting perfectly upon his head.

“Incredibly handsome…” she said, her smile soft and tender. Aesop decided to take her word for it, instead of going to look in the mirror. Without another word, he pulled her in for a kiss. 

She had a tendency to chase ghosts away, and leave only love in their wake.

Introduce yourself and your MC

My humble self has been around in the fandom since February and was admiring everything from a distance. Thought, won't be here for long, you see. That until Aesop Sharp happened to my fairly serene life, and I've decided to try and yank myself out of the native language comfort zone to write something anything about him -- and subsequently, the MC of mine, Julia Wright.

Julia is of dutch/faroese descent;

Ravenclaw, through and through;

Her scar looks menacing and pain it may cause is as horrid;

Half-blood but-- let's just say she didn't know until Aesop happened to her life;

She is natural to Charms and Transfiguration magic due to her ancient magic, wyrdish abilities, and she spend a great deal of hours on potion-making (she went a long way from being mildly curious and enamoured with the discipline to it becoming her livelihood; spoiler alert, Aesop was a help but not the cause);

Her mood swings may be harsh and have many explanations to them (physical pain, mental fatigue, underlying stresses, etc) but all you need to know: she can be sullen, she can be hysterical, yet she always remains a goof, especially around friends;

She likes sparkly and glossy things, her assigned House bird is a magpie;

Julia is a cosy lesbian but will kick arses if necessary;

No bullying on her watch and no house elf slavery either (you can already imagine: her life isn't easy);

In her later, aftergrad years, she'll move to Wales to live alongside her throuple besties, Poppy and Imelda;

what else can I say: her foster-family lives in Devonshire and Dorset, her extended blood-family is spread across northern Europe and has-- spolier alert, long-standing family business;

Jagtooth is a rap artist with a focus on creating a modern and punchy sound that combines contemporary influences with old-school rap aesthetics. His flow is inspired by personal struggles and events, depicting his stories as a young man who had to experience many challenges over the past few years. In spite of that, his resilience allowed him to continually move forward in life and in his music. Because he is so eager to create personal lyrics and build a punchy and impactful sound, his songs feel very easy to relate to, and his performance brings a lot more authenticity to the audience. In addition, the sound is just as professional and powerful as you would expect from some of the best hip-hop artists on the scene today. This is what makes this release really stand out. It’s a combination of personality and great sound that enable the artist to really tell his story and set the bar higher for what’s to come next.

His latest release, “Wannabe”, exemplifies this unique blend of influences. Drawing inspiration from artists like Aesop Rock, Atmosphere, MF Doom, and Earl Sweatshirt, Jagtooth channels the introspective and storytelling-driven nature of underground rap. “Wannabe” is layered with boom-bap beats, gritty textures, and sharp lyricism, reflecting the raw energy and authenticity reminiscent of the golden era of hip-hop while maintaining a fresh, modern twist. This track not only highlights Jagtooth’s technical skills but also his ability to connect deeply with listeners, offering a glimpse into his personal journey and artistic evolution.

1. How have your personal experiences shaped your flow and storytelling?

Answer: I’ve always been a fan of hip-hop as far back as I can remember but finally got into writing when I was around 14 years old. As time went on, I just found myself writing about my life and perspective.

2. How do you blend modern rap sounds with old-school hip-hop elements?

Answer: I’d attribute it more to influence than anything. I like a lot of underground and alternative styles of hip-hop, and I’d say that shows in my writing.

3. What inspired “Wannabe,” and how does it reflect your growth as an artist?

Answer: I’ve struggled with drug addiction since I was 8 years old. Around 3 years ago I finally found recovery and work as an addiction counselor today. Somewhere in the midst of my addiction, I quit writing. However, I always have loved free-styling. A few months ago, I felt inspiration to finally record a proper EP. I’m grateful to have good friends who encouraged me to do so.

4. How do you incorporate such a huge range of influences into your own style?

Answer: I don’t think I could answer that question honestly lol. I just write whatever I think of, same thing with free-styling.

5. Why are authenticity and relatability important in your lyrics, and how do you keep that connection with listeners?

Answer: I believe honesty is one of the most important things, when looking at a person’s character. I just try to be honest, and I like to believe the majority of people appreciate that as much as I do.

6. Where do you see your sound headed as you continue evolving within both classic and modern hip-hop?

Answer: I just want to continue to improve, man. As much as anyone else working towards a goal, I would just like to steadily work towards that.
