I am the type to project onto characters/ships I like so whenever I crave something I look up that theme with that ship/character. Usually that theme is hurt/confort or sickfics and those are getting sooo rare!

Buddy. Love you/p. You’re great. Affogato cookie was not being genuine when he said that he agrees with Dark Cacao on the wall and keeping the citadel locked. (His words of wisdom) Affogato is very against the wall because his relationship with Dark Cacao is supposed to parallel Choco’s.

Affogato is seeming to agree with Dark Cacao in the prologue of world 13 because he’s trying to remain in his good graces before he stages his coup. Because Affogato was planning to get rid of Dark Cacao before the COD arrived.

Dark Cacao isn’t a bad person and you were still making tons of points in your post but?? Dark Cacao is still a morally gray character and he makes bad decisions based on his traumas and the way he’s acting in 13-14 is at the pinnacle of a major spiral?? He chose to lock out the world and focus on the wall and that was a bad thing to do but he’s not a bad person.

Sorry if that doesn’t make sense but I like 87% agree with you but like. That one thing. Common misconception.

Yeah that's literally what I said 😭 Cacao isn't a *bad person* he's just a person who made horrible decisions for what he assumed was the greater good but actually just more trauma produced idiocy.

I genuinely think if Cacao actually knew the harm that was happening outside of the wall he'd make better decisions. But he didn't. The point of that post wasn't to say Cacao is a saint or just a character who "🥺 didn't mean to neglect his son and forgot about the people outside" because I could bet he'd know to some degree they'd face hardships without the watchers. I'm saying he didn't know how bad it genuinely was, and gravely miscalculated.

Someone also brought up that DCK needs a better system of affo is the ONLY person talking to these people and I agree.

Also I know Affogato didn't actually agree with Cacao about the wall, I also had a convo with someone against this. My best guess that since this was before he met COD his original plan was to stage a coup by making his citizens hate/distrust them. That's also why he said he agreed on the wall and lied about how bad it was. He obviously didn't believe it, he just needed for it to continue so the people would get angry enough to be fine with him getting yotted to the sidelines.

I'm sorry I love talking about lore this probably comes off like a ramble, also it's okay if you disagree with me. If everyone thought the same thing crk lore would be boring 😒

honestly, the more i think abt princess x knight, the more i think princess is likely to see knight as more of an older brother figure than a romantic interest lol. and yea, idk why, she just gives me lesbian vibes lmao. but if u ship them thats fine too

seamoon usually gets the short end of the stick bc they're both legendaries and devsis like to just ride the rarity bias wave instead of giving them a proper story, but i enjoyed their crk bond story! i like the idea of sf being a singer. i just wished there were more seamoon fics </3 despite its popularity, theres barely anything on ao3 bc everything there is espresseleine...

speaking of espresseleine, i considered putting it in the "ship i dont like anymore" category bc i dislike how it overwhelmingly dominates the fandom to the point where its hard to find content of other ships. but actually i never liked it in the first place lol, i've always just been pretty neutral about it, so i decided not to include them

for sparkherbvamp, i dont include mint, because i see mint as being the token straight friend lol. i think juice bar regulars are a tight gang, but mint is with cocoa while the other three have their own thing going on. also, as a side note, i think herb totally smokes weed. just gets high as shit all the time. and him and vamp will trip out together lmao while spark is their trip sitter who always makes sure they dont get into too much trouble

darkmilk is in the controversial ship box bc ppl keep misinterpreting their story. i think theres definitely an argument to be made abt how milk idolises choco to an unhealthy degree and the relationship would probably be unhealthy and have a power imbalance, but i don't think it would be like, outright abusive/manipulative or anything. i dunno, theyre both adults, i think they could make it work. actually, probably any ship with pome could fit in this controversial box too, like pomelico, cuz the fandom usually interpret it as abusive and problematic. which isnt wrong, it definitely would be lol. but it would be an interesting ship to explore in a fictional context. so add pomelico and pome x starfruit there

for the "ships i didnt initially like", just to be clear i DO like those ships now lol. i never finished odyssey so i never rlly got to see wildchips dynamic or chemistry so thats why i wasnt into it initially but i basically absorbed gin's love for them. also the fanart is cute. affocream i didnt like initially bc i LOVE affo and i used to hate clotted, like, a lot lmao. but after following affocream artists for a long while, ive grown to like them a lot

i dont rlly have much to say abt the other ships. chilirye and raspblossom is mainly bc of their bond stories (and i especially think raspblossom deserves way more love). and wiz x proph x cinna is bc of piano lol.. i love cinna and piano got me to love wiz and proph too just thru how much he talks abt all of them

Affogato and Caramel Arrow Hogwarts AU ramble because why not?

• Caramel was a hatstall and I cannot be convinced otherwise. You bet her little 10-11 year old self was anxiously sitting in that tiny old stool in front 500 people while the sorting hat had a mental breakdown on whether she was Gryffindor or Hufflepuff for a solid 6 minutes

• Affogato didn't even get to the stool when the sorting hat yelled 'slytherin'

• Caramel Arrow is a Half-blood with both her parents being wizards and her father being an auror (joining the 'Second Watcher is Cara's dad' bandwagon for this one)

• Affogato is muggleborn who was disowned once his family found out about his magical side (aka the Dursleys walked so his parents could run). He convinced almost the whole school, teachers included, for a solid 6 years through various schemes from forging parental signatures to somehow convincing Caramel and Crunchy to brew a polyjuice to shift into his parents for teacher-parent meeting

• He also convinced a lot of people that he was a pure blood, although some thought he was secretly a half-blood, nobody knew he was a muggle born

•Caramel Arrow finds out about his heritage and id imagine they'd have nice moment until they wack each other with their wands the next morning

• Dark Cacao is the defense against of dark arts teacher in this universe and they are both *really* good at the subject and see him as parental figure (but Affo would never admit that)

• *cue two 13 year olds practicing their patronuses at 2am because they really want to impress DC and who ever gets it first is clearly the superior student and therefore his favorite*

• Caramel Arrow gained the nickname 'First Watcher' by catching the Golden Snitch within the first minute of a Quidditch game (Affogato and many others believe the snitch was charmed despite the multiple thorough inspections done to the snitch saying otherwise)

• Side note: In this AU, snitches are worth only 60 points and it has nothing to do with either of them, I'm just petty about that rule and wanted to have something a bit more balanced than 250 points

•I took a couple of quizzes plus some surface level research and have deducted that Cara's wand has a unicorn hair core and Affo's wand has dragon heartstring core and I'm willing to do more research (I also did two really long patronus quiz and got black stallion for Cara and Eagle for Affo but I may double check those)

• Affogato sometimes narrates Quidditch games but he isn't allowed to do so often due to his snarky and sometimes very biased opinions,

• Affogato excels at potions. He has gained some perks out of this like easily gaming permission to enter the forbidden library for 'research purposes', being allowed to brew interesting potions such as polyjuice because he is 'practicing his skills' and carrying a bottle of amortentia 'for extra credit'

• Speaking of Amortentia, Caramel Arrow smells campfire smoke, brown sugar, caramel and wet dog/wolves and Affogato smells coffee, galleons/coins, ice cream, lavender and chocolate

• Affogato keeps his hair in a bun and sticks his wand sideways for safe keeping (and to resemble his og design)

• Caramel has really good Alohomora and Revelio charm

• They have gone to detention for randomly dueling in the halls way too many times

• Caramel is terrified of Howlers because she never knows whether it's her dad scolding for getting into detention or Affogato making dirty jokes and loudly moaning (where does he even get all those howlers-)

• Affogato had a snake and he once tried to scare Caramel but she ended up taking a liking to it so now they have to 'share the custody'

• Affogato kind of joins the Cookies of Darkness/Death Eaters in his later years but he isn't very into their beliefs. He's just there because Dark Enchantress offered him a place to stay and to put his potions and curses to good use if he served her.

• He tried to leave but he realized she would not think twice to kill him if needed so now he's just panicking

• Affogato is basically Draco Malfoy but it's StarKids' 'Very Potter Musical' Draco Malfoy aka the one that is played by the short, iconic legend that is Lauren Lopez

caramel arrow is fucking cool. i love her outfit so fucking much ughhhh its so pretty the black and white motif of the dc kingdom is my EVERYTHING!!!! AND HER FUCKING WEAPON???? DUAL BLADES THAT ATTACH INTO A BOW???? THATS LITERALLY WICKED I WANT ONE OF THOSE!!!! also i eat up strong female characters like theyre my last meal on earth i just adore her resolve and her loyalty and her STRENGTH shes a BOSS of the GIRL NATURE

despite me loving her so so much, i cant help but feel as though she got SHAFTED in the story relevance department. the only role she really plays in the 13-14 story is that shes the means by which gingergang infiltrates the castle. thats honestly all she really does???? and thats SO DISAPPOINTING!!!!!!!! she couldve been so much more!!!!!!!!!! not to mention how she acts when she finally finds dark cacao. instead of, i dont know, yelling at him for abandoning her and the rest of the kingdom and saying that his long-winded message of telling her to get help was fucking STUPID, she just kisses his ass and says “ok lets go fight!! i never gave up on you!!” LIKE DUDE SHOW SOME SELF-RESPECT AND SAY “HEY MY KING IM LOYAL TO YOU BUT YOURE FUCKING TERRIBLE AT THIS!!!”

THEY DIDNT EVEN LET HER GET REVENGE ON AFFOGATO LIKE GRRRR ok i get its rated like 12+ so they couldnt have her straight up murder him BUT STILL!!!!! she couldve put an arrow in that bitch’s back as he was running away. damn. caramel arrow should be allowed to murder because shes hot. but the recent bond story with her and affo is really fucking funny though so ill let this one slide.

 another thing is that i wanted to badly for her to have a one-on-one with dark choco the way he and dark cacao had. like, i wanted her to have a chance to ask him why. surely he doesnt have a vendetta against her like he did with his father???? he probably wouldve spoken with her, albeit briefly, considering she was literally his apprentice or something. we couldve learned so much about dark choco before the whole sword thing went down and about dark cacao back in those times. sighhhhh the girlboss was gatekeeped :( 

i really like her but once again she falls a little flat because the story doesnt give her a ton to do which sucks so hard :pensive: ily caramel arrow youre my homie forever <3

i have very conflicting opinions about the king of not-my-problem. do I think he's hot? unabashedly. Do I think he's a terrible person? also unabashedly.

ill start with what i like. first off........ patrick seitz is a fucking phenomenal voice actor and GOD he really nails it with dark cacao. he's on my list of voices that i want to read me bedtime stories. second off, god am i a sucker for his design. the big chunky armor hits me right in my paladin soul. the color palette is so simple yet so striking, and i love how his violet-tinted grays and blacks contrast with his sons warmer tones. that's a neat little detail that really differentiates them and draws the generational line further beyond just ideals and alignment.

theres so much to fucking unpack about this man when it comes to personality and dialogue. i do NOT feel like going back and reading through that again until the emotional damage from the first time wears off, so just roll with me here. god FUCKING damn he actually got an entire arc for his personality and it STANDS OUT. pv and hb remained mostly static throughout their stories but dark cacao got the fucking special treatment and ughhhhh its so good.

i just...... excuse the pun but i adore how his soul jams theme is actually baked into his arc. with the other two ancients, it was their jams trait (light of truth and light of passion) that HELPED them finish their arcs, because they had both lost those things along the way and their journeys were about reacquiring pv's missing truth and hb's faded passion. with cacao, its his jam's trait, his own resolution was the very thing that was HINDERING him. he was so set in his ways BECAUSE he still had his strong resolution that he failed to realize that HE was the problem with his kingdom and his relationship with his son. god FUCKING damn that subversion from the norm WAS SO FUCKING REFRESHING AND I COULD GO ON ABOUT THIS FOREVER BUT I WONT!!!! THIS IS ALREADY SO LONG AND I HAVE ANOTHER THING TO GO OVER OK

okay so... theres something i really dont like about him. dark cacao is a terrible fucking king and dark choco was mostly in the right to try and make him change his ways (obviously he shouldn't have sought out a cursed sword to do so, as only bad things can come of that but still). all dark cacao could focus on was the wall. somewhere along the line he made it HIS burden alone to protect the world from the licorice sea, and because he put all his time and resources into that, others suffered because of it. his neglect is what caused the villages under the rule of his kingdom to waste away into ruin. hell, even citizens living in the CITADEL were suffering, for christs sake. resources were being depleted for this one project until there was nearly nothing left. my man may be earthbread's top emo model, but mans a FUCKING TERRIBLE KING. AND THE KICKER????????? NOT FUCKING ONCE DOES HE ACKNOWLEDGE THE DAMAGE HES DONE IN HIS NEGLECT!!!!!!!! NOT EVEN A FUCKING "HEY IM SORRY I BASICALLY ABANDONED EVERYONE BECAUSE I WAS TOO BUSY FIGHTING MY DEMONS FOR THIRTY YEARS" FUCKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
