Pairing: Thomas Thorne x reader
Summary: Thomas tries to find a way to show the reader how much she means to him. But the both of them being a ghosts is making things complicated.
Note: This is a little birthday gift for @jamiewintons 😉. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Mari!
The two activity that Thomas did the most since he became a ghost was sighing at his sighing place and pacing in the attic. Pacing that was of course accompanied by sighing. And right now he was in the attic trying to find a solution to his new problem.
You and Thomas had recently started to date each other after a century of mutual pinning. You were the person that mattered the most to him, even helping him heal from what happened to him the day he died. And he wanted to show how much you meant to him.
But because the two of you were ghosts it was physically impossible for him to bring you to romantic outings. There was no going to balls, dinner parties, opera or seeing a play.
But that was not going to stop Thomas to invite you to what you called a "date". He just needed to find an idea.
Thomas sighed, pacing around was not helping at all. But maybe other people could help him.
--------------------------------------------------
"Alison!" He called for as he entered the kitchen, startling Alison.
"JESUS CHRIST THOMAS!" Alison shouted, making Mike jump.
"I'm sorry to bother you fair Alison, but I have a service to ask you."
"Two second, Thomas." She said before going back to talking with Mike. "As I was saying, there's going to be shooting stars tonight."
"Thank you so much, Alison! I knew coming to you was the right idea!" Thomas told her as he ran in the opposite way.
"Ok..." Was the only thing Alison could say.
"What happened?" Mike asked.
"I have zero clue. Just Thomas being Thomas."
------------------------------------------
Thomas entered your bedroom, a huge smile on his face.
"Y/N!" He called for you.
"Thomas... What do you want?" You sighed, not looking at you.
"Are you alright?"
"You have barely talked to me for a week Thomas. Every time I tried to be alone with you disappeared."
Hearing you tell him how he hurt you, Thomas's heart broke a little. He hadn't realised that because he had been obsessed with bringing you to a romantic outing, he had forgotten to spend time with you.
"I'm sorry, dear. I didn't mean to avoid you." Thomas took a breath before continuing. "Will you make me the honour to go on a date with me?"
You turned around and stared at him, the surprise making you speechless.
"I'll understand if you say no. I hurt you and you can be mad at all you want me but please at least consider it."
"I would love to." You said, smiling at him and trying to reassure him.
------------------------------------------
After the conversation you had with Thomas a burden on your shoulders was lifted. However, Thomas still hadn't told you what he planned for your date. Only to meet him tonight in the garden.
You couldn't wait to see whatever Thomas had planned. You had been feeling restless the entire rest of the day, not even being able to follow during Pat's club.
"Fair Y/N! Come here!" You heard Thomas calling you as soon as you entered the garden.
In the middle of the garden there was a couch, probably brought here by Mike and Alison. Thomas was standing right next to it, fidgeting.
"There's not much we can do as ghosts but I heard there was going to be shooting stars tonight." Thomas walked toward you, his hand grabbing yours. "I'm sorry again for how I treated you, dear. I wanted to show you how much you meant to me but I lost track of what was really important."
He walked you toward the couch and the two of you sat down on it, cuddling with each other.
"Thank you for all you did, Thomas. I love you so much."
"I love you too, dear." Thomas smiled. "Do you know what you are going to wish for?"
"Not telling you. It's a secret." You laughed.
You knew exactly what you were going to wish for. That you would spend the rest of your eternity feeling like this in Thomas's embrace.

Baizhu - Character Illustration
"The weather has been rather sorry of late, and we've had more patients coming in as a consequence. Most have been suffering from wind-cold dampness, presumably because they haven't been looking after themselves properly..."
"Thinking of you and your outdoor escapades, I was worried that you might have been neglecting your health too. So, seeing as I had some free time today, I decided to come over and check in on you."
"It seems like my concerns were misplaced, though. Despite how long it's been since we last saw one another, you're still looking as healthy and energetic as ever."
"...Instead of just rabbiting on like this, will you hurry up and hand it over! I've already fallen asleep and woken up again, but somehow the cake you were planning on giving the Traveler is still in your hand!"
Thanks to カネンゴミ for the fantastic artwork!
