You were in the kitchen, listening to your favourite artist on full volume as you cooked some instant rammen

And as if on a schedule, your brother, Keiji Akaashi, and his best friend Kotaro Bokuto walk in at 4 sharp

But you didn't hear your brother slam the door shut or the owl head's loud voice over your music; so as you kept singing loudly, the two older men walked into the kitchen following the music

"(Y/n). We're here" Keiji says to you as he taps your shoulder, making you jump and yelp slightly

⤷ kuroo decided to surprise you with a new dress for you to wear on your date, telling you how he came across it online and immediately knew it would look amazing on you

⤷ you excitedly took the article of clothing from him, eager to try it on, however you soon felt your heart drop to your stomach as you realised that the dress he had chosen for you was entirely backless

⤷ you always made a conscious effort to wear clothing that covered as much skin as possible, especially your back— the large scar that resided between your shoulder blades caused you a lot of insecurity, and you felt more comfortable knowing it wasn't visible for anyone to see

⤷ you did your best to hide the fact you were self-conscious about it from your boyfriend, and while you knew he would never think of you any differently, you would be lying if you said you didn't still feel nervous any time he would see your bare skin, knowing that your scar was on full display to him

⤷ kuroo didn't miss the way your smile dropped or the sudden worried look in your eyes, your reaction seemed so unlike you and he instantly knew that something was wrong

⤷ however you still found it hard to ignore sometimes, especially with the way everyone’s eyes seemed to be drawn to it whenever you'd wear clothing that left the area exposed, and as time went on you found yourself feeling more self-conscious about it than ever

- You definitely influence each other for the worse, as you'd swear even more when you're together

- You have no kinda filter when you're around each other because you feel genuinely comfortable talking authentically

- I could see him being curious and asking questions about how it's a cultural difference and what other cultural differences there are between you guys

- You teach him cuss words in your first language so you can cuss secretly together in public settings. Sometimes uses them on his teammates and thinks their confused reaction is hilarious

Murasakibara

- He's the same, so as long as you don't shout when you cuss, he has absolutely no problem with it

- Won't really tease you about it or comment on it like lost if the others will - just kinda sees it as part of who you are

- Like with Aomine, you two have no filter around each other and cuss even more when together, especially if you're venting or talking shit about someone.

- You tried teaching him cuss words in your first language but he couldn't be fucked to learn them

Kise

- He's a bit surprised at first but he honestly finds it funny after a while

- While I don't think he'd swear that much, he still does on occasion and has no problem with it

- Will definitely tease you about it light heartedly. Makes the same kind of comments Aomine does to flirt jokingly

- Gets very good at guessing your mood based on how much you're cussing/what cuss words you're using

- Cusses slightly more when he's around you

- I could kinda see him making you use a swear jar (idk why 💀)

Kuroko

- Was a kinda surprised when he first heard how much you cussed, but he didn't really have a problem with it, despite not really cussing himself

- Just kinda accepts it as part of your personality, ad he also understands it's parly down to cultural difference

- Although he hid it at first, he sometimes finds it kind if funny, particularly when you catch people completely off guard.

- Like Kise, he'd learn to read your mood based off of how much you're cussing and the words you're saying.

Akashi

- Really wasn't fond of it at first - he likes manners and a certain standard of etiquette though he gets it's partially due to cultural differences

- Always told you to watch your mouth at first, but he gets increasingly used to it over time. Now, he (mostly) lets it slide

- You teased him for being uptight at first, but you quickly understood that you'd bitten off more than you could chew (you'll still occasionally do it)

- Loves to punish you for your bad language if you two are alone. Sometimes, you cuss deliberately around him due to this.

Midorima

- Also prefers refined speech and manners. At first, your cussing greatly bothered him

- Frequently lectured you/told you to watch your mouth initially, and got even more annoyed when you completely ignored him

-After you started dating, he grew to (kind of) tolerate it. After all, he loves you and that includes the parts that aren't perfect

- Understands it's due to cultural differences but it still feels so uncalled for to him

- You tried to cuss slightly less around him, with very limited success, but he still appreciated the effort deep down

- You often tease him for his uptight ways, and when he does slip ip and cuss, you don't let him hear the end if it

Back in the Teikou days, at some point Kise started pretending to believe in some conspiracy theories – like the flat Earth – just because Midorima's reactions were too funny. Momoi, Kuroko, and Akashi were fully aware that Kise was just making fun of Midorima, but they didn’t say anything because the situation was hilarious. Aomine almost caused Midorima to have a syncope by saying that maybe the flat Earth theory made some sense. Murasakibara was just very confused by the situation. Years later, Takao found out about Kise’s way of teasing Shin-chan and decided to join Ryouta.

OK RAKUZAN BEACH EVENT

They had really cute reactions when they arrived at the beach. Hayama and Nebuya were obviously excited. Hayama was shouting about how wide the sea was and mayuyu being his snarky self said "It's wide because its the sea😐😐"

We also got the team in swimsuits

(Now that I think about it akashi's sprite is less muscular than the others. Maybe if he moved his arms out of the way I could be sure)

Also akashi says that he's been to this beach several times before. Thing is the beach is in Kyoto. Do you think the akashi family went on vacation to kyoto often?? IMAGINE BABY AKASHI AT THE BEACH WITH HIS FAMILY🥺🥺

Then Mibuchi goes on a rant about sunscreen and makes the rest of them put it on. Although mayuyu refuses because he wants to sit under the parasol and read.

Akashi also brings a barbecue set that he rented from the beach house. So they eat shrimp and scallops together on the beach. Then akashi suggests they go snorkeling. Now even though mayuyu said he wouldn't go into the ocean, the man's agreeing the minute akashi asks him to join.

So they go snorkeling and mayuyu has the most unimpressed reactions to everything. He sees an octopus and he just goes "hmm...octopus." And what's crazy is that Hayama gets stung by a jellyfish. And akashi performs first aid on him. I don't think they went to the went to the hospital though😓😓(they probably should)

So they stay there for a couple of hours and they watch the sun set together. And then akashi says "We have some time until the train home, so let's stay here a little longer."

Now I'm definitely overthinking this but I feel like during this whole thing akashi didn't feel the pressure of being who he is. Here he's not the captain of rakuzan or student council president or captain of the GoM. He's just a teenager spending time with his friends on a beach. And I think he enjoyed not having to be absolutely perfect at all times so he didn't really want to go back to all that very soon.

ALSO before rakuzan was shown heading to the beach, the others teams had apparently found out about it. And kise and takao were discussing about how it's impossible to think that a team like rakuzans would go to a beach.

Now this got me thinking, is this a common occurrence for the rakuzan gang? Do people assume that they wouldn't do normal things, just like how people assume akashi wouldn't?? Because it's not like they're different from the others, they're teenagers just like all the other teams. Why wouldn't they go to the beach which is a very normal spot to hang out?? Have they also been dehumanized(ok probably too harsh of a word to use but you get the idea) because of the fact that rakuzan is a powerhouse school?

I've got some more chronic Akashi brainrot for y'all...

I had re-watched parts of Last Game not too long and I remember the scene after Team Vorpal Swords won when Riko's dad bought a bunch of snacks and drinks for everyone to celebrate. While eating, Midorima asked Akashi (referring to the haphazard way snacks were spread across the table), "Are you sure you're okay with something so sloppy, Akashi?" And Akashi looked at him and said, "What are you talking about? We used to sit around and celebrate like this in middle school all the time."

It really stuck in my head for a reason I kinda mentioned the other day, when I was talking about Akashi's dynamic with Hayama. I won't explain that entire post, but I was mainly discussing how Hayama is touchy with Akashi but Akashi never minds, and the last sentence of my post regarding that was, "Akashi seems to be very unfazed whenever he's manhandled by his Rakuzan teammates which shows that he was never really that uptight about people touching him to begin with and people just assumed he was". This brings me to the main topic of this post: Akashi Seijuro and the assumptions the KNB cast has about his personality.

As I love to point out on this godforsaken app, Akashi has been done dirty by every adult in his life with the exception of his mother. So much of what went wrong in his 3rd year at Teiko was due to high expectations and the idea that Akashi was not allowed to be anything less than perfect at whatever he did, but at the root of all of this are assumptions.

False assumptions that he was able to handle such a heavy workload. False assumptions that he was ready to be captain in his second year. False assumptions that he was coping with stress well. False assumptions that he wasn't already cracking before he even enrolled in Teiko. He was let down so many times by so many people because people assumed he was okay when he wasn't and hadn't been for YEARS.

And I think it's a big reason as to how and why the rest of the Teiko gang unintentionally isolated Akashi back in middle school. They put Akashi on a pedestal and assumed that there was some sort of invisible barrier between him and the rest of the team. In the same way when, during Last Game, Midorima assumed Akashi would stick his nose up at... eating chips and drinking juice with the homies... everyone has this idea that Akashi is more haughty than he actually is? Akashi isn't haughty at all. In fact, the Replace Plus Chapters highlight the fact that he's the complete opposite. This boy saved a baby in one chapter, and as the mother of the baby profusely thanks him, he says "Anyone could have done that." As if he didn't showcase superhuman reaction time and reflexes by pulling a baby out of a runaway stroller coming down a hill at high speed right before the stroller was obliterated by an oncoming truck. 💀

These assumptions make even less sense when Akashi has already shown people how much he doesn't want to be put on a pedestal. Again, back to the scene in Last Game, Midorima assumed Akashi wouldn't be down for the "sloppy" afterparty, but Akashi had to remind Midorima that they'd already done things like that in middle school. Momoi has cute nicknames for every member of the Teiko gang except Akashi, who she refers to simply as "Akashi-kun". Maybe that was her assuming Akashi would never accept being called by a cute nickname. Never mind the fact that he already was being addressed as "Akashicchi" and "Aka-chin" by Kise and Murasakibara, respectively, and then later was being addressed as "Sei-chan" by Mibuchi. And you can't even argue that she didn't want to make Akashi uncomfortable, because Midorima has outwardly expressed before that he didn't wanna be called "Midorin" but Momoi just kept calling him that.

And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they're shitty friends for doing this. I just think that there was a lack of communication within the Teiko gang, and in an attempt to respect what they assumed were Akashi's boundaries, they unintentionally excluded Akashi from activities that he would absolutely participate in if he had just been given the chance.

This post is long asf so I'll just conclude here, but one of my delusional headcanons for the Teiko gang post-Extra Game is that Akashi becomes more open with them about how he feels and also about wanting to be included in more of their activities, and so he finally gets to experience having a regular hangout with friends like a regular teenager. I just think he deserves that so bad after feeling alone for so many years.
