Dorm Floor Plan

"I have a floor plan I'm pretty happy with" I said 4 iterations in. This is... maybe seven eight. And three days later. I've just gotta fling this one out, I can't keep nitpicking it.

I'm still not entirely happy with the nook, I probably could have gotten the proper fit if I'd been willing to move the bathroom out (and mirror it over to the other side) but I need to be done with this or I'm going to send myself completely barmy.

fellow tumblrina @dagstar7 passed along a link to a copy they'd made of what may have been the official copy of the dormitory floor plan, unfortunately the source has been lost to the depths of the internet, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I was however pretty pleased to discover that my floor plan looked pretty similar, although their copy's nook was slightly more rupee shaped, and their bathroom was flat.

I've assumed a bit of mirroring in the dorm that should be just the other side of Stella's wall judging by the windows and balconies from the outside. (the windows and balconies that really don't work once you start measuring from the inside...)

My last edit was to slim the common room from 5m to 3.5m. I have previously calculated the balcony windows/doors to be at least 4m across, but looking at the space they have I realised it looked pretty similar to one of the main living spaces in my house which is also 3m (and change) across, and it's more than enough space for that.

*Edited the pics as I was typing, just greyed some step lines in the rooms and removed the outer stair line on the nook. The steps in the room are only two deep, but they do have a different colour than the rest of the carpet in the bedrooms, so the original step outlines included that, making it look like there was three steps per room.

Apart from the nook and the bathrooms, the biggest liberty I've taken is centralizing the window in Stella's upstairs room, because her bedroom window is mostly central in her room, the only window above it should be directly above it, and there's just not reasonably enough space between floors for the stairs to wind back and forth for them to come out where they do, unless the stairs are a ladder.

I was actually looking for a shot of someone falling down Stella's stairs when I found the bathroom, because I remembered it happening, and I feel certain I remember a shot looking down the stairs proving they go in a straight line, but the only fall down the stairs I can find is in episode 6.19, which is the new apartments, not the old dorm, and didn't have the angle I remembered.

Here are some older iterations, staring with the one with the "5m" wide common room on the left, and a more squared in version of the nook in blue.

Actually, it's a little weird/interesting, but for the last iteration I actually flipped which way I was viewing the map?

Welcome to Alfea ✨ Meet Flora [Image description: Design for Flora from Winx and her dorm room. Rules for the Winx Club's dorm

(Inspired by rules for 1-A)

Bloom: Please stop trying to use your powers in the dorms, you've set off the fire alarm so many times that all the other students think it's broken

Stella: While it's impressive you can do your make-up while sparring, please stop. I can't grade your technique if you are distracted and not trying your best

Flora: No eco crimes of any caliber or I'm banning you from the greenhouse 

Tecna: Stop breaking through Alfea's defenses as a "test" of your skill. You are going to let someone slip in one of these days. I will make you a barrier to play around with, just stop doing it to the main one

Musa: Please keep your music at an acceptable volume

Hearing other people playing music is NOT a challenge

Aisha: Stop climbing the outside of the school. I will find somewhere for you to rock climb, you're scaring the other students by climbing past their windows 

Stop telling the other students Bloom is God. Being the Fairy that holds the power of the Great Dragon's Flame, is not the same thing as being the Great Dragon

Bloom: Stop using your powers to convince the other students you are God

Someone using purple magic is NOT bulletproof evidence that they are Darcy. Stop attacking random students

Bloom: That goes double for you

Stella: Stop telling people Tecna is a robot

Tecna: Stop using your prosthetics to help Stella convince people you are a robot

Musa: Stop giving them new ideas

Flora: While your "onion fumes" spell is incredibly creative and amazingly useful in combat scenarios, I ask that you only use it during outdoor sparring. Making everyone's eyes burn while your sparring is something we want to avoid

Musa: The Cloud Tower girls are thankful that Riven drew the attention of monsters to make their escape, they are not "hussies" attempting to "take" anything from you. Stop trying to fight them

Saladin being unable to say no to Helia is not grounds to abuse this fact to get your hands on random specialist weapons, you've already put yourselves in the infirmary multiple times. At least get someone to train you 

Aisha: This is not a challenge

Flora: Covering your enemies in hornet-attracting pollen is not an acceptable tactic to deal with bullies, please just tell me about it next time

Stop daring Aisha to do random things to see if she's naturally good at it. She probably is

Aisha: Your honor is not lost just because you can't tie a cherry stem with your tongue. Stop adding random things to your training regiment

Amaryl throwing an attack at Stella, which she batted away without a second thought, is not an acceptable reason to make a morphix monster specifically programmed to chase her around the school. I was going to expel her for that stunt anyway

Not trusting new teachers is understandable, hazing them and dumping potions of revealing on them is not. I will let you give them potions in a controlled environment

The hallways are not a controlled environment

Bloom: A specialist telling you that you'd be "prettier if you smiled" is appropriate grounds for flipping him off, not breaking his nose

Aisha: You too

Tecna: You as well

Bloom: Saying "this is exactly what her ghost warned me of" about random things in the middle of a conversation is not acceptable behavior. You are scaring the freshmen

"As the prophecy foretold" is not much better 

Just because Wizigiz says something is ok does not actually make it ok

Stella: Stop making up magical artifacts. I've gotten 16 different questions about completely made-up objects and it's obvious you're the one doing this 

Tecna: At least pretend to pay attention in class. I know you already know most of these things but building a robot on your desk distracts the other students 

Musa: Riven leaving you on "read" is not an acceptable reason to hijack the announcement system to play break-up songs, he probably just checked his phone in between training. Stop doing this. We have actual announcements to make

At least try to be subtle about the fact that you girls are under different rules than the rest of the school. The freshmen are starting to get ideas, and I don't want to deal with that many students in detention

Especially when sneaking your boyfriends in. Yes, I know. None of you are subtle 

Tecna: Stop hacking into the royal students' phones and systems. You are going to start an intergalactic war. Airing out Royalty's dirty laundry is only acceptable if it's really bad, and at least warn me first so I can find a political advisor

Aisha: Stop training the pixie animals to attack people you don't like

Bloom: Tell someone when you're going to take a surprise vacation home, last time Stella woke up the entire wing of the dorms with her screaming because she thought you were kidnapped 

If you're going to get payback for Griffin giving you the runaround when you were at Cloud Tower at least don't get caught. Griffin is somehow more annoying when she's smug

Musa: Stop trying to get the girls to start a band with you, Tecna is tone-deaf, I know you're just doing this to annoy people. Stop it

Tecna: Making a complication of Erendor and Samara making fools of themselves is funny, hacking the projector system to show it during an assembly is not. Just mass text it to everyone, I know you can, you didn't need to do that

If your going to skip class because of a magical emergency it better be a real emergency or I'm going to tell your teachers to start grading your missed assignments

Stella: A bad hair day is not an emergency 

Aisha: Stop intentionally riling up Riven when he's at the doom, I don't care how funny you find annoying him is, just because we can fix property damage with magic doesn't make it acceptable

Stella: Stop biting people. Just stop. It's unsanitary

Do not have Riven, Sky, and Helia at your dorm at the same time. I've heard how those two can get when Helia is there to instigate and I'm not dealing with that. If I get a hint of those three being around at the same time I'm giving you all detention

On that note, if Riven and Sky are going to be in the dorms either keep them in different rooms or have Brandon there to mediate

Tecna and Musa: Stop using your powers to freak out the freshmen when you tell them stories of your battles

Stop using your power to freak out Stella in general 

Stop trying to freak out Flora, it won't work

Flora: Just because you haven't blown anything up in the lab yet, doesn't mean your experiments are permitted 

Musa: Please control your pixie. She's convinced half the students she has the authority to give them detention, and while she's not wrong about their punishments, she can't keep doing this

Bloom: Lording your newfound strength above your enemies is not an acceptable way to use magic. If you're going to mess with this "Mitzi" do it during the breaks 

Please be aware of who is around when you ask Brandon questions about his life as a royal guard. Ophelia has had multiple girls show up because they overheard him talking about torture in graphic detail

Flora: Please warn me when you invite Miele over. Yes, only you and only Miele. I can't even begin to describe the amount of chaos that child can cause with her bugs

If you don't warn me I'm banning all of your siblings from visiting 

Bloom: Please stop avoiding the staff's questions about Kiko. He can perfectly comprehend language. Why can he comprehend language Bloom

Controversial opinion

I actually kinda like that Roxy didn't join the Winx officially. I love the idea of her being an ally to them and a friend, but I like the separation between them. The Winx are about 20, or 21 in Stella's case and Roxy is 16, plus the girls have gone through so much as a unit. I feel like Roxy would have a hard time slotting in after all the things the girls have gone through, and all their trials. I do love the idea of Roxy finding her own group at Alfea and still being the girls friend, but not becoming one with their inner circle. Roxy deserves to go through the fun and chaos of bonding with roommates, people who on the same maturity scale as her and point in her life. Plus, we could have a spin off with her journey to becoming a guardian Fairy.

Like, imagine if one of the specialists had a little sister, like Timmy since he gets no background or Brandon, and she was in her year and dorm, that could be another good way to link the group together.

I felt very robbed when I saw that the fairys dorms in Alfea literally have the personality of the fairies and at cloud tower is just a green room with 3 beds in all dorms.

I have nothing to do so I'm going to reimagine it a little bit.

My main idea is that the Alfea and Cloud Tower rooms are magically decorated from the moment they receive an owner. The alfea ones will follow the personality of the fairy, the room becomes the student's dream room, the dorms are organized like in the show, 6 girls per dorm, 2 in each separate room. In contrast, in cloud tower the rooms are shaped like what the witch considers a home, for example, her childhood room, a room similar to her grandmother's house, or in more creative cases, a forest or even a lake. Dorms are organized more simply, 3 witches per dorm, 1 in each separate room.

I can make examples later so you can understand better.

Valtor’s Princess CHAPTER ONE

WARNINGS: Villains romance(?), suggestive talk, threating 

Faragonda walked into the classroom and looked at you with a serious look. One that was screaming there was danger coming and you weren’t going to like it. She cleared her throat as he went over to the professor and began speaking. 

“I would like to speak to Y/n.” she said simple. You got up finding your concern and nodded, 

“Bloom can you take my bag back to the dorms after this class?” You asked your friend. Bloom nodded and smiled. You walked out with Faragonda and once you reached Ms.Faragonda’s office and the door was closed she looked more worried at you. 

You were scared to hear what was happening as this wasn’t normal for you to just get pulled. “Faragonda, my friend what is happening?” you asked and sat down across from where Faragonda was seated. Faragonda put her hands together before taking a deep breath. The words that came out shook you to the core. 

‘Valtor has returned. And I’m afraid he will not just be after the magic. The Trix escaped with him.” She said and just looked at you. “You and the Winx will need to stop him if needed but that means you telling them everything.” she sighed. “I know you didn’t want to. 

“I understand, I just hope it doesn’t make the Winx to angry at me. Valtor might use that against us.” You spoke with your eyes narrowed not at Faragonda but outside the window. You weren’t shocked if he was watching. 

“I know Stella has a party tonight so telling can wait.” Faragonda said softly. “Just protect them and try to have fun.” she said. 

A few hours later once you all arrived at Stella’s palace home you looked around at the peaceful planet. All the other girls were chatting, and Stella ran to her dad to give him a nice big hug. But then Stella saw the girl who stole her dress. 

“HEY that’s the stole my dress!” Stella exclaimed and went to stomp over. Stella and Y/n quickly held Stella back.

“Stella. You don’t need that dress, you picked out the better one. Now let’s get you ready for your party.” Bloom said. Stella huffed before nodding. The girls and you headed to find your rooms. When suddenly you felt something was off. Something dark was here. You looked around wanting to get to your room quickly. 

You didn’t know that Bloom ran into the person you were scared of. After the party got started. You wondered off from the girls since they were with their boyfriends dancing. Your eyes had suddenly caught something in the shadows. You saw the countess and her daughter known as dress stealer with someone. You watched as they were marked and you had wide eyes. Valtor knew you were there and just smiled at you. He whispered to the two ladies before heading over to you and bowed. He didn’t have his coat on. You had wide eyes and just stared at him. 

“Don’t leave someone hanging wanting a dance.” He spoke smirking. He knew what he was doing. You only accepted his hand, so nothing looked odd. He kissed your hand before grabbing your waist and starting to spin you around and dancing. “Now you still look so young darling.” He said huskily. You glared at him.

“What are you doing here Valtor.” You muttered. He only chuckled and shook his head before he leaned in and kissed your cheek. 

“Well, I’m getting what I wanted from the beginning and this time I won’t be failing. Can’t wait to watch you become all alone... you will be begging me to live.” He whispered right into your ear. It was a threat, but he wasn’t sounding like he wanted to hurt you. That scared you the most. 

You snapped out of your head and pulled out of his grip. Just then everything happened. Stella turning into the frog and Winxs getting out before Stellas father tried to attack everyone including his own father. Soon you all returned Stella back to normal before heading to Alfea. 

Faragonda looked at everyone with worry as everyone returned. You still haven’t told everyone about the past. You looked drained and Faragonda just sent you to your dorm before wanting to talk to the girls. You knew she would want to talk to you in the morning. You could barely speak at the moment. You got back to your dorm before using your magic to change into pajamas and closed your eyes falling asleep on your bed. You started to dream of the past. The great and awful parts. 

“Oh darling... Oh Darling... I know you can hear me sweetheart.” You heard someone say in your dream. You looked around while you were dreaming. You were in your room. Valtor was running his fingers against your magic books on your bookcase. He smiled at you. “There you are.” he hummed out happy you were paying attention to him. 

“Valtor... why are in my head.” You narrowed your eyes at him. He only chuckled before coming over to you. 

“Because I can be, after all I want to check on you... you seemed shaken with everything. I can’t blame you. I am a sight to be scared of.” He smirked. “But I will always have free range of your mind. We are connected.” He said and used his one hand and lifted your chin, so you looked right at him. He stared into your eyes. 

“I don’t want you here.” You said plainly. “Especially after what you done.” 

“I guess you didn’t realize... when I marked you.” he pulled away from your face. “This time it won’t be removed. I won’t be having you doing my work and you should just relax sweetheart. After all you will be needing me at some point.” He chuckled before leaving your mind but not before kissing your head.

Palladium is your dad and doesn't like that Ogron is flirting with you and tries to stop the relationship that happens and finally comes around but is very protective. Can have smut between Orgon and the reader if you would like maybe after a wedding. ;)

When Ogron and his guys attacked Alfea winx and professors didn't know what to do. My dad have never found out that I met this guys earlier in my life.

"Well well well... What we have here boyss??!! Isn't that my little (name)??" Ogron said.

Everyone were confused at first but I didn't bothered I transformed into my enchantix form to be prepared to attack if I need to.

"Woahh there babe it's me your friend Ogron, remeber we met in your dorm when I fucked you, ah I loved when you screamed my name" He said.

I blushed a little and blast my powers at him.

"Why are you here Ogron??" I asked.

He teleported In front of me and kissed me in front of everyone, I love this man so I kissed him back as all fairys were shocked.

"(name)!!!! STOP THIS NONSENSE I WON'T LET THIS HAPPENING!!"

My dad Palladium said and tried to break us apart but I stopped him.

"If you let me marry your daughter, I promise we won't hurt any fairy" Ogron said.

My dad looked at Faragonda to know what to answer, he doesn't want to give his daughter to some villain. Faragonda nodded and Palladium just sighed.

"If you break promise I will hunt you, but if you break mu daughter's heart I will kill you" he said.

Ogron smiled and after just a few days wedding happened there in Alfea, everyone were happy. They weren't safe when some villains were in Alfea but they were happy for me. When wedding ended Ogron took me to our home. I went straight to bedroom so I can take off my wedding dress. Ogron came behind me and started kissing my neck.

"What are you doing" I ajsed and chuckled.

He looked into mirror in front of us.

"Trying to have fun on my wedding night" he smirked.

With that he pulled my dress down, took me in his hands and put me on bed. He started kissing me everywhere and stopped when he came to my pussy. He looked at me for a second.

"Are you a virgin?"

I blushed a little and just nodded. He smirked and started giving me a head. Since I’ve just mentioned it in my great scathing, here it is! I’m also taking this direction to validate the assumption that least one (if not both) of the two single doors either side of the entry door (one next to Tecna&Musa’s room and the other across from it hidden by the nook) is a bathroom!

Alfeas dormitories are for five people, with two of the rooms being bigger, having space for two beds and the third room being a bit smaller. That means Aisha won't share a dorm with the Winx - her roommates will instead be Mirta, Galatea, Nova and Krystal.

This also means Aisha goes to Alfea one year later than the other Winx - she actually fought about that with her mother, who is very over-protective of her, since her older sister (Politea) died during the fall of Domino. In the end it was her father, who put his foot down and decided that Aisha deserves the best education and it's fine for her to be the crown princess and a Fairy, although he is very scared about loosing his second daughter as well.

She'll also go there and use the cover-name Layla, not using her official title as princess of Andros.

Valentines Day Headcanons

Bloom x Sky

bloom tells sky about the jist of valentines day, sky's immediately on board

usually, they mainly go to gardenia and have a pretty sappy date (this is bloom and sky we're talking about here)

they go to an ice cream parlor, and have a picnic in the park. both of them just really like to people watch

while they do have their game of who can flirt with the most ___, they always come back to each other

their main date spot is at a mall in magix city. they dont just shop for each other, but for their friends as well.

they go to the food court, people watch, its a pretty cool experiance

Definately jam sessions with both of them on electric guitars

while in the greenhouse and gardens, helia picks some gorgeous flowers and makes a bouquet for flora. when he gave it to her, he was surprised to see that she made one too!

Part two:

Alfea was different to way the least, very different to the school you were so used to, it was bigger, different halves of the school for different things.

You had been here a few weeks, and Saul and Farah were still trying to figure out if you were a fairy or not without directly asking you.

Sitting in her office, you ran your hand over Bodi’s head as you looked at her.

“So.. is this meant to be like some bonding thing?” You asked.

“No, we’re just trying to figure out who’s side of the school you should be in.” Saul chuckled.

You looked at him and looked back down and Bodi.

“I’d much rather just go to my old school..”

“Do you not like it here?” Farah asked worried.

They knew you were having a hard time settling in, you stayed with them in their dorm, having a room to yourself.

But they knew you found it hard to talk to the other students, engage with them and find things to do.

You sighed, looking at your mum.

“Look, I get y’all are happy to have found me and all, but I’m just.. I’m so used to my life how it was. And I get I agreed to come here, but this isn’t me.”

“How so?” Saul asked

“Fancy school, different classes for whatever reason, the middle of nowhere? Pretending to be some happy family, that ain’t what my life is about. I’m country through an through, I drive tractors, ride trucks, I get messy and do hard work.”

You gestured to the window.

“Half these idiots are scared to get a little dirt on their clothes. It’s boring.”

Standing up, you tapped your hand against your side and Bodi stood up to follow you.

“If y’all really want what’s best for me, you’d let me go home and leave me alone.”

With that you walked away and they sighed.

They thought they were making progress with you, but just when it seemed they were making some headway it all came crashing down.

You didn’t want to be rude to them, but this life they wanted you to have, but fancy building, boring classes, nice clothes and brand new whatever, it wasn’t you.

You weren’t some little kid who they try and mend things with, you were nearly an adult, you could make your own choices.

And in a way you felt bad for how you were behaving, but you felt like everything they were doing was trying to make you into the kid they wanted you to be.

Not the kid you were.

Walking around the school, you made your way outside and jumped down the steps, looking around for something and you huffed when you couldn’t find a single thing.

“Hey you’re from America right?”

You looked over at the red haired girl.

“Yeah, what’s it to ya?”

“Sorry, so am I. I’ve actually been wanting to talk to you for a while, I’m Bloom.”

“(Y/N), so you’re from America too?”

She beamed and led you to a bench so you could sit down and talk to her about what you liked to do where you were both from.

You didn’t mind the fact everyone here was English or Irish or Scottish or Welsh or Solarian, but words couldn’t express how much you missed having people to talk to about your home country.

“Do you like it here?” Bloom asked.

“I mean it ain’t bad don’t get me wrong. I just wanna go back home.”

“I get it, it’s really different here.” She sighed.

You nodded your head in agreement.

“Am only doing this for Farah and Saul.”

“How do you know them?”

“I don’t, but they’re my birth parents. It’s a whole big mess, I was taken from here and out there.”

“So was I!”

You looked at bloom.

“No kidding, really?”

She nodded her head and explained her situation and she accidentally explained a little too much and even showed you her magic.

You jumped back and Bodi barked, standing in front of you as he growled.

“You don’t know about Fairies?” She asked.

You shook your head.

“Oh crap I’m so sorry! I’ll explain it all I swear!”

You nodded and told Bodi to sit and you listened to her explain everything she knew, which wasn’t much and you nodded your head.

You both frowned a little.

“Wonder why they didn’t tell you..” she mumbled.

You heard your name being called and you looked over.

“We’re boutta find out.”

Walking over, you stood in front of the two and crossed your arms over your chest.

“You both fairies?” You asked.

“You know?” Saul asked confused.

“I’m sorry!” Bloom yelled.

She quickly ran away from the scene and Farah sighed.

“I am, Saul isn’t. We were wondering I maybe you were.”

“Well that’s just stupid. You coulda just told me straight away.”

“We didn’t want to directly ask you about it, we wanted to try and figure it out before explaining but I see Bloom already told you.” Farah sighed.

You narrowed your eyes at them a little.

“So, tell me what you really do here.”

“Of course.”

Saul began to explain everything to you while Farah walked away from you both and you listened to him.

Once he finished explaining you pointed at where Farah was sat with her head in her hands.

“She was scared we’d scare you away for good. She’s taken this a lot harder than I have, and it hasn’t been a walk in the park trust me. But she’s taking it really hard, she was so excited when she found out she was pregnant and when you were gone it tore her apart. It tore us both apart.”

You looked at Farah and you sighed softly, walking over, you crouched in front of her, resting your arms on your legs.

“Ya know… it’s pretty cool, knowing I could be a fairy.”

Farah moved her hands from her face and wiped her tears.

“I don’t think I am though, but what Saul does look pretty neat, you think I can give that a try?”

Farah smiled a little.

“Really?” She asked.

You nodded and stood up, stuffing your hands into the pockets of your jeans.

“Yeah why not? Me and Bodi could be a little team.”

She laughed softly.

“I think you’d make a good team. I’m so sorry we didn’t tell you (Y/N), really. I am. But I just don’t want to risk loosing you for a second time, even if you live in the first world and we only see you once a year or through FaceTime. I really do want what’s best for you.”

You sat down next to her, patting your lap for Bodi to jump up and lay on you as you scratched behind his ear.

“Farah you wanna know how I spend my early teens?”

She nodded.

Saul came over and sat on the floor in front of the three of you.

“I spent my teens drinking in some random cornfield, I got lost more times than I can count, but I kept doing it. Riding horses, learning to work a farm, drove a tractor for the first time, even though I nearly crashed it, I broke my leg jumping from a tree, spent my summers swimming in the lake, and winters skating across the same lake.”

You smiled as you remembered those memories.

“You’re a mind fairy right?”

She nodded her head.

“Have a look at them, I want you to see what I experienced.”

Farah did, and you stared as her eyes changed colours.

She went through your memories, seeing the ones you had mentioned and others.

“I crashed my first car, and I got in more than a few brawls, we had huge bonfires, parties, laughing and drinking our youth away like every other teenager in the world.”

Farah blinked, letting her eyes return to normal and you smiled softly at her.

“The way I see it, I’ve had a pretty damn good life, and you shouldn’t be upset you weren’t there, I couldn’t have asked for a better life. Even if I did wanna know you guys, but I loved the way I was raised and I wouldn’t trade it for nothing.”

“I understand that.” She said softly.

You moved Bodi and stood up and he watched you, tail thumping against the bench.

“I had the best upbringing someone coulda ever had! I loved every moment of it!”

You turned to look at them, and gestured to the school.

“That was my life, and you gotta experience it for a few months. This is your life, and I wanna experience that too. I may not get the whole class thing, or magic thing, but hell it sure does sound pretty damn fun you know? You don’t gotta hide that from me, it’s who you are, it’s who I am, you don’t have to be scared you’re gonna loose me, cause the way I see it is it’s gonna take more than a little magic to scare me away.”

“Really?” Saul asked.

“You two lost a lotta memories, a lotta things you shoulda experienced with me, but that don’t mean you missed out on everything. I still got a long life so long as I don’t die doing something stupid first.”

They both laughed and stood up, Saul brushed the dirt from his clothes and Farah wiped some tears from her eyes.

“I wanna do whatever it is Saul does, that looks hella fun, but I’m down to see if I got magic too.”

“I’m sure we can figure that out a lot easier now.” Farah smiled.

“And I’m more than happy to train you.” Saul nodded.

You beamed and punched the air making them laugh again.

“I’m sorry, I guess I’m having a tired time as seeing you grown up.” Farah sighed.

“Don’t be sorry, I get it, it’s hard. But I’m still growing.”

She nodded her head and she took a small breath.

“Can I.. would it be okay if I hug you?” She asked.

You smiled walking over you wrapped your arms around her.

“Course it would, you don’t need to ask.”

Farah wrapped her arms around you, placing his head on yours and you looked at Saul, reaching back you pulled him over and he laughed, hugging you both.

Bodi barked and jumped on you, and you wrapped and arm around him as well.

“I ain’t forgotten about you buddy.”

He barked again and you laughed with Farah and Saul.

They both had a few tears running down their faces, but they held you tightly.

You were all grown up, and they were still scared, but their fear was eased knowing that you wanted to be part of this life too.

This was the first time everything felt okay, and to them it felt like you were all actually a family, even if there was a long way to go

Okay okay, I need to experience Musa being left to care for Terra’s plants while she’s gone, but she’s way in over her head so she has to call in Riven (aka smug plant nerd) to rescue the plants before they die an untimely death.

“You should teach,” Musa interjects in the middle of Riven’s TED Talk about the cell regeneration properties of finely ground Nyctagina thorns.

They’re both elbow-deep in soil, every inch of her bedroom floor covered in ceramic pots, half empty bags of potting mix and dead leaves, with them sitting in the center of it all. Aisha and Stella had fled the scene over an hour ago, like caring for Terra’s plant babies while she spent a few weeks of their summer break finally introducing her father and brother to her girlfriend — accompanied by Flora’s fullest moral support — hadn’t been a responsibility entrusted to all three of them.

It had seemed like such an innocent request. The suite was home to about seven times more plants than fairies, but according to the Earth Fairy herself, all they needed to continue thriving was mindful watering, a light pruning in case of overgrowth and some gentle verbal encouragement.

Maybe they shouldn’t have left the watering to a water fairy. Or the encouragement to… well, Stella.

Three weeks in and Musa had pretty much written her eulogy, to be read at the service after Terra strangled them all with vines upon her return. The emergency meeting Aisha had called at 5:40am was only slightly less unwelcome, and mostly consisted of them listing any Earth Fairy not home for the summer they could possibly ask for a favor. It wasn’t until after her third latte that Stella had pointed out that the top botany student from her year wasn’t a fairy, sporting a grin that was only rivaled by the one blossoming onto the face of the aforementioned plant nerd at Musa’s shameless begging shortly after.

“What?”

“Remember when you told me you’re not sure yet what life after Alfea will look like for you?”

“What I said was that I had expected to be expelled and selling drugs by now, but yes.”

Musa rolls her eyes at his wry self-deprecation and rubs her forearm across an itch above her eyebrow, unknowingly wiping a smear of dirt onto her forehead. She misinterprets Riven’s snort as a reaction to her eye roll.

“You could teach,” she continues, “You should teach.”

“I hate people,” he points out, lifting the terracotta bowl planter he’s just filled with three Hyptissas to inspect the result.

“But you love bossing people around,” she counters.

The gleam in his eyes tells her exactly where his mind goes after that statement. She flicks a spare stem cutting towards his face, but it falls short and lands in his lap.

“I’m serious, Riv. You’ve been on the Training Grounds for ten, sometimes twelve hour days, making pretty much all of us better fighters. Silva would hire you in a heartbeat if you told him you’re interested. And you’re clearly still very passionate about botany as well. I think you’d be really good at either, and you have a year left to prepare.”

They know that the odds of a quote unquote normal school year are slim to none. No one knows what the Blood Witches are brewing, but they can all tell they’re in the eye of the storm. It’s ominous, eerie, and yet they don’t have specific orders right now, which is how they can be sitting on the floor of her dorm repotting her roommate’s plant collection and talking about a post-Alfea future as if it’s a given.

“Thanks, Pixie,” he shoots her a subdued but genuine smile. “But I actually figured it out already.”

She stops what she’s doing, giving him her full attention. “Really?”

“Yeah. I’m going where you go.”

It takes seven seconds before she remembers to breathe in, and when she finally does it’s a shaky thing. “Yeah?”

He shrugs one shoulder, “It’s hard to find a good fairy partner.”

Her eyes flick over the lines of his face. They haven’t really talked about it, their synchronism, their tether, the way gravity seems to be pulling them towards each other as much as to the ground, but they’re aware that they both feel it, even now, suddenly a lot closer to each other. His hand reaches up, wiping at the black smudge on her forehead with his thumb, huffing a laugh when that inevitably only makes it worse.

“Well,” he drawls, preparing to get up, “you’ve not come out of this battle unscathed, but I think we’ve managed to revive enough of them to avoid calling it a bloodba—”

She pushes up onto her knees and brushes her lips against his, gentle and hesitant, nearly over before it begins until he leans down and slots their mouths together in earnest. His hands move to cup either side of her neck, a thumb on each cheekbone, the grittiness of the soil on his palms scrubbing her skin. She runs her dirty hands up his light gray T-shirt, curling them into the fabric and pulling him closer, his body warm, steady and right against her own.

When Terra comes home four days later, hugs the three of them in thanks and asks them to plant-sit again over Christmas, Musa’s the only volunteer.
