Y'all, I didn't expect Malice's first layer to look so good?! Okay technically it's the second layer since the first was spent with the gold gouache on her horns and facial deformities, but this was the first layer of actual drawing and it looks SO GOOD! I know doing dolls for four years has improved my skills a lot, but that doesn't make this any less shocking. I can't wait to keep going when time permits. ^^ Super happy I opted to remake this doll, gosh, I'm still not over the high from yesterday. Every time I look at her I smile.

Malice and Memory Joey (June 2023)

I've been quietly working on these two dolls for a while, and now we finally get to show you the fruits of our labors! I'd like you to meet Memory Joey and Twisted Alice, the newest additions to my Bendy custom doll collection!

Some of you may recall that I've made Alice before. She was actually my first doll back in November of 2018. Unfortunately, over time her modge podge and varnish got gummy and gross (which is on me, I didn't apply it correctly), and compared to my more recent work, she just didn't look as good. So I took some time to spruce her up, giving her a new face, hair, and clothes, and she's everything I dreamt she'd be. I'm so happy to be in love with her again. Figuring out how to keep her halo lightweight was especially satisfying, it's cardboard and hot glue, and it works remarkably well.

Joey by contrast is a completely new character for me. He's a G3 Deuce Gorgon doll, and it was my first time working with this sculpt. Gotta say, it was a pleasant experience. I feel like I'm a lot more confident in tackling shorter hair now, and I had a great time sewing his waistcoat and drawing on all his graphic details. He quickly became one of my favorites as of Dark Revival, and this makes him my first completed doll for BATDR! (I have an Audrey in the works for those of you curious, though it's going to be a long time before I'm ready to go back to her, that's a LOT of details).

I have a LOT more photos of them, both together and alone, so expect to see those in the future. I hope you love them just as much as I do!

Antiques!

So I ended up having to go on errands with my mom today and during that, my mom ended up taking me to a couple antique stores. My favorite things about going to antique stores are the toys as well as old technology such as CRTS, radios, typewriters, stuff like that. Hey guys, I've been wanting to make videos about my Doll Customization process for years (think the kind of stuff you see from Dollightful, Enchanterium, etc, but with a bit more storytelling), but I've always fumbled on where to start. So today, I'm putting up a poll for you guys to choose who comes first!

Need more details before you vote? Wanna know what would these doll videos be about? Here's what I'm thinking!

Twisted Alice - She's a remake of my first doll custom, so I foresee this video being about how I got into the hobby and my love of this character.

Kat Alyst - This is my persona doll, a fun loving storyteller fairy. This video would likely be an introduction to me and who I am as an artist.

Auran Dulce - This doll is my nutcracker ballerino. He's an original character that's really important to me, and this video would likely focus on telling his story.

Sass the Snake Kwami - This doll is a gjinka I did of Sass from Miraculous Ladybug, and a part of a collab. He's also the first doll I ever made using Mr. Super Clear as my sealant. He was originally planned to be my first doll video, but I never went through with it. His video would likely be a retrospective in how my process has changed.

Day 1

Every challenge has its own capsule wardrobe. I will post it in its entirety on day 31. I believe substyles are subjective, I mostly have sweet but added sweet pieces in classic that I tend to coord more maturely.
