Do you have a comfort film? Uhhh I’m gonna have to say Remember the Titans? Or else To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (or the Kissing Booth series). I love cheesy romance movies, don’t come at me.

What about a comfort tv show? Definitely Shameless. Ian and Mickey hold a special place in my heart. But Supernatural also holds a special place in my heart.

Comfort book? Alice in Zombieland (and the rest of the books in that series) by Gina Showalter. (Hot guys, cheesy romance, are y’all catching onto me yet?)

Comfort food? Oh gosh I’m so basic, but I’m gonna say buttered toast (with my homemade bread) or just plain buttered pasta noodles.

Do you have any pets? As far as indoor pets go, I have a dog and a cat who only barely tolerate each other. But, I’ve also built myself a little farm, so I have horses, cows, chickens, bees, goats, and I’m planning on adding a pig or two soon.

Someone hands you a check for $10k, what’s the first thing you buy or do? So my adult answer is that I’d use it as a down payment for a property so that I could get out of my high crime rate neighborhood. My fun answer is that I’d use it to buy myself a nice English saddle, and maybe a nice show coat. Besides that, I’d use it to buy myself some fun cosplay stuff that I haven’t been able to justify the cost for yet 😅

Favorite place you’ve ever traveled to? My favorite state I’ve ever been to is Alaska, because it was just gorgeous and everyone was so nice and willing to show me around. My favorite event definitely has to be when I went to Thescon when I was still in high school. Tons of gay theatre kids all in the same spot for a whole weekend.

Proudest accomplishment? Ooooh this is a hard one…I’d have to say the time I taught one of my horses to jump all by myself. I didn’t have any help from a trainer, but he jumps beautifully now and I’m so proud of him. This horse had three trainers give up on him and tell me to either sell him or put him down, because he was too crazy to be ridden and couldn’t be trained. But I’m very stubborn, so I kept him and trained him myself. He’s now my heart horse and I know he’d do anything for me.

Updated with Sunday figures: In the wake of Terminator: Dark Fate’s failure at the B.O., and Paramount’s recent decision to make Beverly Cops 4 for Netflix, we have the further breakdown of cinema IP in Sony’s Charlie’s Angels reboot, which is tanking with a God-awful $8.6M domestic opening, $27.9M worldwide (from 26 markets), 3 Stars on Screen Engine-Comscore’s PostTrak, and a B+ Cinemascore.

The Elizabeth Banks-directed-written and produced pic is also opening in 27 offshore markets,

China being one where it’s also bombing,

with a $7.8M 3-day take in third place behind No. 1 local title Somewhere Winter ($13.1M).

All of this is primed to further spur a WTF reaction and anxiety among film development executives in town in regards to what the hell exactly works in this have-and-have-not era of the theatrical marketplace. Many will make the hasty generalization that old, dusty IP doesn’t work, or is now deemed too risky when it’s not a superhero project. However, moviemaking is an art, not a science, and annoying as it might sound, good movies float to the top, and this Charlie’s Angels reboot didn’t have the goods going back to its script.

<Maybe somebody should have been working on a good story instead of pushing an agenda.

We’re going to break down for you what went wrong in another graph, but we don’t want to bury the success of Disney’s release of Fox’s James Mangold-directed Ford v Ferrari, which looks to be coming in at $31.5M, well ahead of the $20M+ many were seeing, with an awesome A+ CinemaScore and 4 1/2 stars and a 68% definite recommend on Screen Engine/Comscore’s PostTrak. After a franchise-laden summer which buried originals, now an original pic is sticking it to the IP.

When it comes to the bombing of Charlie’s Angels, the takeaway is this is what happens when you have IP, but there’s no reason for telling the story.

In the walk-up to developing Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, and in the wake of its near $1 billion success, a fever broke out at the Culver City lot in the post-Amy Pascal era to reboot former Sony franchises or extend them, i.e. Zombieland: Double Tap (well over $103M at the global B.O. now), the upcoming Bad Boys 3, and, of course, Spider-Man, the latter electrified by Disney’s Marvel. Development studio executives define their being by getting films greenlit, and whenever that happens, it’s 90% of the job.

And the pressure is on to fill a 10-12 picture annual slate in a world where Disney vacuums up all the best IP. A third Charlie’s Angels with McG directing and Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu starring, wasn’t made immediately after the second chapter, 2003’s Full Throttle, as the sequel turned out to be 29% more expensive than the 2000 original at $120M, and also made less worldwide, $259.1M to $264.1M. With Elizabeth Banks coming off her hot feature directorial debut with Universal’s Pitch Perfect 2 (which over-indexed in its stateside opening at the B.O., going from $50M projections to $69.2M, and finaled global at $287.1M); after she expressed interest in September 2015 in taking on a Charlie’s Angels reboot with a modern feminist spin, there was no question in Sony’s mind that the project should move forward.

Back to the story.....

However, there were script problems, I hear, that could never be resolved. A few months after Banks boarded, Evan Spiliotopoulos came on to write. By the time cast was assembled in July 2018, Banks had penned the latest draft off a script by Jay Basu (The Girl in the Spider’s Web), and earlier drafts by Craig Mazin and Semi Chellas. Andrea Giannetti oversaw the project on the lot. However, I hear that the script for Charlie’s Angels didn’t really attract top talent, i.e. Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone and Margot Robbie (a trio that would have potentially jazzed up business). Hence, why the production opted to go with largely a fresh face cast outside of Kristen Stewart. While we overwrite that stars mean nothing at the box office, they do, sometimes, when it comes to propping IP, and unfortunately and arguably, no one in Middle America knows who British actress Ella Balinska is, and they’ve only became recently acquainted with Naomi Scott from Disney’s Aladdin and Lionsgate’s Power Rangers. Stewart, who is hysterical in the movie and even needed more funny bits, is in a different place in her career professionally, publicly, and privately. It’s unfair to think that she could delver her Twilight fans now.

Had she done Charlie’s Angels promptly in the swell of the Twilight whirlwind (like Snow White and the Huntsmen) then maybe it would have popped.

But she has largely been dormant from popcorn wide releases for the last seven years since 2012’s Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, busy excelling and wowing in specialty awards season and festival fare like Clouds of Sils Maria, Still Alice, and this year’s Seberg, to name a few. Stewart needed to be paired with equal or bigger-name actresses.

was a one quadrant movie, eyed at women 13-39, especially given its lack of action scenes, and wisely limited their exposure to what I hear is 50%, with co-finance partners 2.0 Entertainment and Perfect World. Sony claims the budget is $48M net; we’ve heard in the mid $50Ms. Tax incentives were taken in the pic’s Berlin and Hamburg shoots. Perhaps Sony should have spent more, because Charlie’s Angels biggest problem is that it has very low-octane, we’ve-seen-it-all-before action scenes. Heck, there’s more action in a 1980s Chuck Norris movie. After watching Charlie’s Angels earlier this week, I put the first two McG movies on Netflix, and it was like watching Star Wars in comparison to this reboot, with his sharp production design, camera movements, unique action, and comedy set pieces, and, of course, the first movie blasted Sam Rockwell out of a cannon. Understand that the first two movies in the series were able to compete and hold their own in an action space where, yes, Mission: Impossible and Fast & Furious (the first two films came out in 2001 and 2003) also thrived. Mission and Fast sequels distinguish themselves on multiple 10-minute action sequences that we’ve never seen before on screen; it doesn’t matter who the villain is. This Charlie’s Angels doesn’t have that. And not even a super-duper hit song “Don’t Call Me Angel” for the movie from Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, and Lana Del Ray can trigger lines at the multiplex; the music video clocking over 116M views on YouTube, per entertainment social media monitor RelishMix.

Some will claim that Banks’ version was never intended to emulate the meat and potatoes version of McG’s films; that this version was expected to be more comedic, and more feminist. Unfortunately, after McG set the table here with the franchise as an action film, you can’t reverse it. You can only outdo him. And with a franchise movie like Charlie’s Angels, you can’t make it for a one quadrant audience.

The film arrived on tracking with a $12M-$13M start, and really never budged, but sank. That means marketing didn’t work. I heard that a $100M global P&A was first planned on Charlie’s Angels, with the studio now reducing that overall cost greatly to around $50M and pulling back on expensive ads. Another hurdle in activating the young girl demo is that much of the pic’s cast isn’t on social media. RelishMix says that Banks is the social media star with over 6.6M followers across Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, with Scott counting 3.4M.

Sony kept pushing Charlie’s Angels, which in hindsight means there were development issues. In May 2017, a release date was announced for June 7, 2019. When the cast was locked down in July 2018, Charlie’s got moved to Sept. 27, 2019. In October 2018 when Warners pushed Wonder Woman 1984 from the first weekend in November to summer, Charlie‘s took over the autumn spot, which was the same exact place the original 2000 opened. However, when Terminator: Dark Fate moved onto the same first weekend in November, Charlie‘s relocated to this weekend as they vied for a China release which they ultimately got.

Charlie’s Angels drew a 66% female crowd, split between 36% over 25 and 30% under 25. But both demos respectively graded it low at 68% and 79%, with men at 35% giving it a 68% grade on PostTrak. Diversity breakdown was 52% Caucasian, 21% Hispanic, 14% Asian/Other, & 13% African American. Charlie’s Angels best markets were on the coasts and big cities. But again, nothing to brag about in Friday’s $3.2M gross, which includes $900K from Thursday and Wednesday previews.

Says RelishMix, which also foresaw this disaster approaching on social media chatter, “Angels is the latest example in a ‘woke’ effort to reboot a franchise that many were not all that interested in to start with. In fact, many references to the 2000 version get a call-out as a reason this one doesn’t seem to compare – whether it’s the cast or the action teased from the film.

And, as observed with other recent films, some action/adventure, unfortunately fans say they’re steering clear of this one because of its ‘girl power’ messaging.”

Books and Video Games

So derailing a bit from my usual.. One of my jobs is I work in a bookstore... If I had a say I’d probably work with books all the time, since I’m a big book, manga, anime, video game dork. I’m the kind of nerd that looks for the soundtracks to my movies and video games so I can relive my favorite moments when I’m not able to re-watch them with my eyeballs.  I love seeing all the creativity when new titles come in. I might not want to read all of them, since like any typical person I have my favorite genres I stick to, but I can appreciate them.

A man came in to my other job the other day and said “I wouldn’t care if all the bookstores in the world closed down for good.” It really depressed me thinking that that isn’t an uncommon thought, since i know he’s not the only one who feels that way.

Before I worked in a bookstore I worked in a library.. I had to take on a different job so I could make ends meet. But books are wonderful...and I’m a firm believer that there is at least one book for everyone.. Whether it’s something you read on the toilet to something you read because you literally watched all the movies in your house ate all the popcorn and are bored out of your wits...

Books don’t have to just be about education... they can be fun too. :) (And not just Harry Potter or The Hunger Games) And depending on the person not all educational books are ‘boring’. I read a wonderful book on Paleontology last year that was, I felt, entertaining and educational.

Devil May Cry is my absolute go to game series... DMC3,1,4,and now 5 are what I play to chill...typically. (Or read since I picked up the manga too...yeah there’s a manga.. for those that didn’t know...) Though I did pick up Ghost of Tsushima! I’m hoping to start it soon!! We’ll see how successful I am. I still haven’t gotten past the armed orc pack in Shadow of Mordor... *sigh*

🌿 Favourite comfort food hmm I think most of my comfort foods are desserts like brownies. I just love brownies. Though maybe mashed potatoes,also pasta, are comfort foods for me and biscuits! I love biscuits! lol I just really love bread.

Favorite Color(s):

Purple by far! I think I decided on purple when I was in middle school. It was during a time when I was trying to grow my own personality because I was always a quiet, do as your told kid. I think my reasoning was “What’s a color that’s pretty that I don’t see enough?” And thus, purple. Very satisfied with my choice. Currently typing on the keyboard and my keyboard cover is a purple ombre, my blanket is a dark purple, and I’m working on getting purple sea serpent armor in RLCraft (minecraft). If I had to pick a secondary color...hmmm...maybe today it’s light blue.

Last Song I Listened to: 

I believe it was this one. Was trying to sing along to it in the shower. Found it while watching a twitch stream of X33N. I’m really digging the techno beats of Scandroid and the story they’re telling.

Favorite Musician(s):

I think this one changes a lot as I continue to slowly explore and re-listen to songs. But one that I consistently hold on to is Daft Punk. Scandroid has captured my attention more recently. Oh, also Fall Out Boy! There are several others but those three come to my mind first.

Last Film I Watched:

Uuuummm...may have to think a while. Oh yeah! Saw Zombieland almost a month ago on Netflix. It was funny, I’d say it’s a decent choice. I always enjoy crass humor.

Last Show I Watched:

Does anime count for what you mean? If so, then it was Sword Art Online: War of Underworld. I’ve enjoyed SAO for a long time, and read quite a bit ahead in the light novels. It was really nice seeing it get animated, especially this season. Best girl Asuna is back!!! (Not to disrespect Alice or Eugeo, they’re favorite characters too.)

My Favorite OC:

Huh...seems like I really only have the one choice. My D&D character who is an Aarakocra Monk. He’s really friendly and a bit bird-brained (pun intended).

Sweet, Spicy, Savory:

All things equally and not to an extreme. Recently some godly, overly sweet cinnamon rolls have been on my mind. They’re about a five minute walk from my house so it’s hard not to give in all the time. But then I go to the gym.

Sparkling Water, Tea, Coffee:

Mmm, I think either tea or coffee. It depends. For tea, something soothing and herbal or sweet and zingy. For coffee, something overly sugary and with cream/milk.

Pets:

Never had a living pet. But I do have a family of plush otters and twin plush umbreons (Penumbra and Totality).

Fall Anime 2018 Watchlist

We’re about halfway into the season so this is probably kinda pointless by now, but here’s a quick rundown of the stuff I’m watching this season.

Dropped

Jingaisan no Yome: This is a 3 minute show and I won’t spend longer than that writing about it (I’m timing myself). I didn’t know it was a short going in. I’m not really into shorts, Saiki kun being the only exception and the story was less MahoYome and more... i don’t even have an apt comparison, it just was maybe more serious about the “marriage” thing than something with a giant floofball character should be.

Tokyo Ghoul: Re 2: It’s simple. I watched episode 1 and realized I had no fucking clue of how any of this related to the ending of the first season, no idea of who half the characters were and where did they allegiances lie and what is Kaneki even trying to do. Although not loyal to the manga, the first two seasons of Tokyo Ghoul had a story that could be followed and made sense, this, however, is just jumping over plot points with no rhyme or reason and there’s nothing but confusion.

Bloom Into You: There’s nothing actually wrong with this show and I was kind of looking forward to a yuri romance that wasn’t rapey or incesty bullshit, but something about this one just didn’t click with me. Like Touko fell in love with Yuu too quickly, and given Yuu’s ace/aro identity, it would feel weird for her to do a 180 and suddenly fall in love with Touko. I kind of want more fun and emotions in my romance stories and this one didn’t have much of either.

Chopping Block

Given a few things the past two weeks that didn’t go according to plan, I fell behind on my anime watching after keeping it in control for the first third of the season and i’m quite annoyed. And because of this, and my upcoming research trip to Japan at the end of the month, I might end up having to drop a couple of series.

Bakumatsu: Objectively speaking, this show is really bad. The production values are poop, the story is a wacky mess that takes itself a bit too seriously and the characters are flat and uninteresting, the villain is egregiously boring. This show also has Matsuo Basho as a secret tive traveling ninja, and that puts me at quite the predicament. I want to see more of this utterly bonkers historical reinterpretation, but boy do I wish they could make it more exciting.

SAO Alicization:  The only reason I, a notorious SAO hater, is watching SAO is because I hate myself. With that out of the way, boy is this SAO boring. We’re four episodes in and the only thing that’s happened is they cut an old tree because nothing can stop Kirito and his new friend, Yellow Kirito. This show needs to start getting offensive and/or stupid soon or i’ll die of boredom.

Karakuri Circus: I hear this one’s from the same mangaka as UshiTora? I love UshiTora and I can see the resemblance between giant guy whose name I can’t remember and Tora. His character and his schtick are so far the most interesting thing to me, with the kuudere puppet girl whose main purpose seems to be to get paired with him  having yet to make an impression on me. I’m also still not really certain what the overall plot is. I do love stories about found families, so hopefully I can stick with this one

Hinomaru Sumou: If my watching schedule were normal, this wouldn’t be in this section. Whilst not the best sports show of the season, and chock full of some of the most eyeroll worthy aspects of sports shonen *cough cough* toxic *cough cough* masculinity *cough cough*, Hinomaru Sumou has the fire and passion for an underrepresented sport that’s usually enough to hook me. I just don’t have time, and if push comes to shove, I’ll prioritize other shows over this one.

Banana Fish: Yo, okay, before you lynch me for being a hater or whatever, let me tell you I have zero issues with Banana Fish. I don’t hate it, I don’t think it’s Bad Representation(TM) whatever the fuck that means, I definitely don’t think it’s fujobait or just another BL. It just doesn’t make me happy. This probably doesn’t make a lot of sense, but I’ve never been a fan of tragedy. It’s also part of the reason I’m dropping Tokyo Ghoul. I don’t like hopeless stories and tragic romances. I’m somewhat spoiled on how the manga ends and each time I find myself less and less inclined to watch the newer episodes because the descent into misery is just not enjoyable for me. It’s not the show’s wrongdoing, it’s just not the kind of story I like. I’m probably too far along to drop it at this point, but also I kinda wish I could drop it because I get so little joy out of it. Also, my main hook is of course Ash and Eiji’s relationship, but 15 episodes in (I’m behind, as is evident) the time they’ve spent together is so minimal, I can’t even appreciate that a whole lot.

I guess I’m watching this? 

Dakaichi: Me: Man I really want a yuri anime without rapey bullshit. Also me: watches BL anime with rapey bullshit. I have literally no excuse. I think the basic setup lends itself really well for a romcom and Takato is a very likable character, it’s a shame it’s the same old rapey bullshit. In my defense, episode two was really sweet and I’ve been hoping for more stories along that line, even though the show has failed to deliver them since. Episode 5 may have pushed the line even beyond what I’m willing to tolerate, but it’s unclear. I might end up unexpectedly dropping it after episode 6. HEY JAPAN WOULD IT KILL YOU TO MAKE A BL ANIME THAT WASN’T RAPEY BULLSHIT? JUST ONE?

Fairy Tail Final: I just want closure man. This adaptation retains all the worst attributes of the previous season, terribly slow pacing (what for?! the manga is over!!) minimal animation, recapalooza. The color palette is slightly brighter than before, which I appreciate. Fairy Tail’s last arc wasn’t as bad as Bleach’s, but it was still pretty bad in the manga; still I hope seeing it animated will make it feel less messy and slightly more coherent. The FT anime has also in the past filled in some blanks that existed in the manga, so hopefully they can make the best out of it here.

Tsurune: No, this isn’t the best sports anime of this season either. Although that’s hard to judge given how it’s barely on its second (third, i’m behind) episode. Technically, I feel more compelled to drop this than Hinomaru, but also I want to give it a fair chance. That said, the first episode was.... profoundly underwhelming and borderline upsetting, with how everyone put Minato on the spot in spite of his having an actual psychologic condition that drove him away from kyudo. I’m all in for stories about growing and surpassing your own obstacles, but I hope they go about it in a less mean-spirited way. Also, the characters feel pretty shallow so far. I’m not even gonna pretend the main reason I want to keep watching isn’t gorgeous guy with the ponytail-san, because I’m now old enough that I immediately gravitate towards the senseis rather than the teenage protags.

In spite of everything, Anime is, in fact, Good

Golden Kamuy: Like with many split-cours, there’s nothing much to say beyond “if you liked the first one, you’ll like this one”. The production values are still tragic, but I think the pace has improved, and the dynamics between the different factions are so fluid and constantly changing they make the story very enthralling. It also continues to have the Best Reaction Faces.

Gakuen Basara: Listen, listen. You all knew I was gonna watch this. And I love Basara so much I still think this show is a masterpiece even when it’s objectively atrocious. I do not reccommend it to anyone who isn’t already a fan (and I mean a blind fan willing to consume anything from this franchise, even in its cheapest, dumbest, worst looking incarnation). That said there are a couple of interesting things, namely the power rivalry between Hideyoshi and Nobunaga, this never happened in the original series because Nobunaga died before Hideyoshi was introduced. Anyway, just shoot that Masamune x Kojuuro fanservice straight into my veins please and thank you

Zombieland Saga: One of the two biggest surprises of the season and one that was nowhere near my radar. An original production by studio MAPPA with perhaps the wildest premiere episode of the season that’s somehow making me like idols?! It’s also giving us the most Miyano Mamoru has ever Miyano’d and it’s amazing and histerical. The characters are also very charming, specially bikegang leader Saki and the always legendary Yamada Tae and the show isn’t scared of letting its cute idols get gross and silly and dirty. There’s also a feeling of mystery that I find very appealing. Definitely didn’t expect this one to be one of the highlights of my week, yet here we are.

SSSS Gridman: Just when I’d vowed a giant fuck you to Studio Trigger, in they come with one of their most quiet productions yet, with characters that speak their lines in soft, leveled voices, tragedies that feel palpable, emotionally climactic battle scenes and a sense of tension and mystery that makes it impossible to take your eyes away. It does have the caveat of oversexualizing the female characters, specially the villain, and not giving Rikka virtually anything to do, but past that, it’s been a very pleasant and intriguing surprise. Also of note, I have no background knowledge of the Gridman tokusatsu series but that hasn’t really been an impediment to enjoy this series.

Double Decker: Doug & Kirill: A spinoff to the 2010 superhero hit Tiger & Bunny, we have a less superpowery buddycop comedy with a cool and diverse cast, whose main character wants to BRING DOWN CAPITALISM, okay, put an end to economic inequality and classes, but that’s basically the same thing. The show is pretty far along because it premiered early for some reason, and so far it’s been mostly one-shot stories very thinly connected to the distribution of the illegal drug Anthem, with our main plot having only come up two episodes ago with the fantastic Zabel and Bamboo Man twist. The dynamics between the main duo are great and Kirill is a riot as a protagonist. 

Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru: Or Run with the Wind. Now THIS is the best sports anime of the season. Brought to you by the studio behind Haikyu, based on a novel by the author of Fune wo Amu. Firstly I love that it’s set in university, because it gives the cast a lot more variety in their interests, ages and personalities, their goals, their baggage, and it makes the process of bringing this team of misfits together even more interesting to watch. The characters feel very human in the way they speak, their worries, their relationships, their actions. The show’s done a great job so far in building the characters and making them worth cheering for. Also Ouji is my spirit animal. If you ever wanted a show to motivate you into running, this is what you’ve been waiting for! Another great surprise of this season for sure.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Vento Aureo: Finally part Five is here! And in it we get perhaps the most interesting Jojo protagonist right off the bat, with troubled Giorno and his difficult past and his wonderful Stand ability. His new set of allies is also quite eccentric and interesting and every scene and dialogue has that special Jojo flavor of crazy and ridiculous and always a load of fun. This one will have 39 episodes, so we’re barely getting started and I’m already loving all of it.

Thunderbolt Fantasy 2: Urobutcher’s favorite puppets are back with a vengeance! Every bit as fun, insane, cool and over-the-top as the first season, with the added value of the rapport between the characters, evidenced by how brilliant the few scenes in which Shang and Lin share the screen are. With a brand new story that expands the world of our favorite puppets, and even more new gorgeous puppets added to the mix to make Shang’s life a mess, this show is definitely my favorite this season and potentially of the year. Let Urobuchi keep doing puppets for as long as he wants!

Alright i am gonna do this, I’m knocking out fics and stuff tonight because i’ve been getting lazy at keeping up with these, so here I go.

Nothing From Nothing//Billy Preston: This is a really cute song, i like it a lot, it’s also very different from any of the suggestions that I’ve got. And I can see it in two movies. First off, I can see it in Zombieland, but just for the part where he is like “ I’m not trying to be a hero”. But after thinking about it more, i think it goes better with my boy Nicholas (or Nick from Rodger Dodger). He starts off wanting to know how to pick of any girl, then realizes that he wants a girl of substance, one he can actually relate to. In other words, they have to have “Something”. So i think it fits really nice with Nicky, but it could also work for Columbus.

Lonesome Loser//Little River Band: OOOOoooOOOOO you know me so well. I love this kind of music , is this like 80′s music it sounds like it. Oh boy i love this song. Sorry Tangent aside, i’d say that this goes very well with Columbus it could also go well with James or whatever his name was in Cafe Society. All of these people are trying to go after girls that are either A with someone else or B just playing them. I’m not calling any of my babys losers, but ….it just fits okay, take loser as a compliment….I love you all.

The Show Must Go On//Queen: I liked this song a lot. THough i did think it was the five nights at Freddys song when i first saw it (shout out to all you who know what i’m talking about) Anywhosi any time i see something about a performance or an act my thoughts instantly turn to my man Atlas. Because he is a performer. And i think this song would go perfectly sometime after Henley leaves. He probably think he had failed and such but he just pretends that he is alright, and just keeps on smiling.

Nights in White Satin//Moody Blues: OMG, I’ve totally heard this before. I think my dad has played it a couple times. I really liked it a lot. I’m not sure if this guy is broken up with his girl or she died though, it’s kind of hard to tell. Either way, i’m going to say it goes with American ultra. Because he had that fight with Phoebe but in they reconnected. Also the song has always sounded slightly off to me , with those chorus of weird voices, so it fits with the movie well.

  I Never Cry//Alice Cooper :   So this song is about just not letting your ex get to you…at least thats what i’m guessing. Saying that your hearts never been broken before and you wont waist your tears on them. With that, i’m going to again say either Adventureland or Cafe society. Maybe more adventureland since thats kind of more of the era of that song, however it does fit a bit more with cafe society because Jesses character was trying to act really cool about the whole thing. Either way i disliked both of those movies and with i didn’t have to put any songs with them. However, i’m not here to throw out movies cuz i disliked them, i’m here to put songs with ones that fit.

manhunter is adapted from the same book red dragon is (red dragon) except manhunter was made before anthony hopkins became The Iconic Hannibal Lecter(TM) so it focuses much more on will graham and francis dolarhyde

hannibal rising is worth watching for gaspard ulliel’s performance but the book was much better

the hannibal movie adaptation changed the ending of the hannibal book while still maintaining a really good and really compelling storyline so the book and movie are definitely both highly recommended by me
