Thank you to everyone on the miraculous fanworks discord for brainstorming this thing with me.
So, the idea behind the au (which was spawned from a train of thought that's perfectly coherent to me but I'm not going to try to explain it) is that all the sentibeings created by Emilie and everyone after her are modeled as living inanimate objects (or rather, animate objects) instead of organics- Duusu's too incoherent to tell them that they can make humans.
From here there's multiple variants about how it all goes down but this is what I'm going with:
Emilie instead decided to focus on being a good cool aunt and/or godmother to kids that already exist. Like her good friend Andre's daughter, who seemed to be having a rough time of it and didn't really have any equal playmates or adults to pay attention to her. Since Emilie can only do so much and be around so often, she decided to use the peacock to make Chloe a little shoulder angel- so she wound up making Adrien anyway, as a plush cat. (He's mentally about the same age as Chloe with whatever voice coming out of his mouth reflecting that, but slightly more mature by design.) After a month or so preparing Adrien, she sneakily left him with Chloe and just let the two bond naturally. (The amok is a golden bell which she put in a box in the safe- Gabriel knows about it and knows what it is and while he didn't really understand why she did any of this he respected her decisions.)
Now, Amelie and Colt found out about this and Colt naturally insisted he be allowed to make himself a son. Colt does not have any imagination whatsoever so he just copies what Emile did, so his son is a plush cat. Duusu's still in no state to tell him that he could've made a human boy. Colt hates his son just as much as Amelie decided to love him. Felix is quite possibly more miserable than in canon.
Meanwhile, Tomoe, who IS creative, made Kagami as a life size porcelain doll, (think Battle Angel Alita)
Tumblr media
So that way Kagami could be a fencing prodigy just the way Tomoe wants her to be. Her life is the least different between the three, but she is fully aware she's not human and hides her face in public.
As for how the plot goes down:
Adrien and Chloe grow up together, the list of people who know about Adrien being alive is pretty short but it does include anybody close to Chloe, so Andre, Sabrina, and even Marinette. He had some bad experiences early on (falling asleep out in the open in Chloe's room and getting put in the washing machine by staff because he was dusty, for instance. It wouldn't hurt, he can't really feel anything worse than extreme discomfort, but it would still be scary.) so he tries to avoid being seen at all by people he doesn't already know if he can help it.
Since Chloe can accurately be described as a good person now, having multiple people in her life care how she turns out did wonders, she passes Fu's test and is chosen to be the black cat. He slips the box into her purse (where Adrien also happens to be).... but she never finds out. Debris from Stoneheart smacks her in the head and she's knocked completely unconscious. Adrien and the box go tumbling out of her bag- since Chloe obviously can't wield the ring this way, and it's not like Fu ever tells him anything anyway, as the only conscious sapient being in the area Plagg gives Adrien the rundown and tells him how to transform, telling him that there will be a partner and that partner will have the power to reverse all the damage, so Chloe will be fine.
The transformation fully changes Adrien so that, for all intents and purposes, while he's transformed as Chat Noir he is a human (plus some cat features) and has no visible differences from how he looks in canon. (The same will go for Argos and Ryuko.)
Fu never double checks anything so going forward he thinks that Chloe is Chat Noir and just has some gender stuff going on. He's never around for any instances where Chloe and Chat Noir would be in the same physical space at the same time that couldn't be explained by other phenomena. He'd probably have a conniption if he found out the truth.

I see so much fanart of 2B and Alita being best friends. So I decided to make the first 9S and Hugo thing. Because I think they would be bros who are idiots in the same room.

Note
I humbly request some post S2 finale fluff from the perspective of the bestest snake girl Vee.
These five had been through hell.
As someone who’d only gotten out of her own hell a few months ago, Vee could tell immediately.
She saw it in the way Gus pressed against Hunter’s side, and the way the older boy put his arm around the younger without really seeming to register that he was there. The way he didn’t even seem to notice Camila cleaning a cut on his face and plastering on bandages.
She saw it in the way Amity seemed to fall into muscle memory, her spine stiff and her hands clasped in front of her, vestiges of a guest etiquette drilled into her so thoroughly that her body kicked into autopilot, even if her mind seemed a million miles away.
She saw it in how Willow’s hands clenched and unclenched, like the fight could come back at any moment.
And Luz.
Titan, Luz.
When Vee had first met her, she’d been immediately struck with how much fire Luz had. She’d been bright, burning like a star. The way she’d yelled when she saw how Vee had taken over her life, the way she hadn’t given up even when Vee broke the mirror, bringing her mother all the way to rescue her from Hopkins.
Now, it was like the rain outside had extinguished that flame, leaving Luz staring at the wall, tears always in the corners of her eyes, but not falling.
Vee nestled a blanked around Luz’s shoulders. They’d managed to convince her to change out of her wet clothes and into pajamas, but she clung to the old jacket she’d arrived in like a lifeline. Vee continued with the blanket line. Willow was the only one who acknowledged, and even she only with a grateful nod.
Vee didn’t blame them.
She slithered to the kitchen, pulling out mugs and ladling soup into them. Camila breezed through with a bloody washcloth, gave her shoulders a grateful squeeze, and went wordlessly to the laundry room. Vee managed to gather up all five mugs at a time and slithered back into the dining room, handing them out.
It seemed to snap them out of their reverie a bit, as they fumbled to wrap the blankets around their hands to protect themselves from the heated ceramic. A chorus of murmured ‘thank yous’ rose up.
Luz still just stared at the wall.
Vee settled next to her, wrapping her tail around her.
“It feels bad now,” she said softly, “But you’ll be okay again. You won’t even notice it’s happening, until one day, you’ll realize that you used to be so, so sad, and now you’re happy.”
The tears in Luz’s eyes fell, streaming down her face in steady rivers. Vee squeezed her tighter, and Luz’s head fell against her shoulder. Vee leaned her head against Luz’s, and a song hummed its way out of her throat, something soft and gentle. “Ay mi palomita,” she murmured softly, “la que yo adoré, le nacieron alitas, y voló y se fue.” She didn’t know what the words meant, but the sound was soothing and lyrical.
Luz sniffed. “Mom?” she asked.
A smile played at Vee’s lips. “Yeah. I… had a couple of rough nights. But she was there for me through them. And she’ll be there for you.”
Luz swiped at her eyes with her free hand. “I know, I just feel…”
“Lost?” Vee suggested.
Luz shrugged, lifting her mug to her lips. “I don’t know,” she mumbled around it, “I guess. Empty might be a better word. I left them behind, Vee.”
“You’ll get them back.”
“How can you possibly know that?” Luz’s voice cracked, and she stared down in her soup.
“I don’t. But I know you, or at least I think I do a bit. Aaaaaaand I know you won’t give up. And I know you’ll do anything to get them back. And if it’s been done before, it can be done again. So I think you’ll get them back. I believe you’ll get them back. And your friends will be by your side. So will I. And so will Camila.”
“I don’t know about that, she didn’t want me going ba—”
“Trust me, she will be with you, she’ll be able to see how much it means to you. I know it.”
“Okay,” Luz said quietly, “Okay. I trust you.”

(reposting from a fandom post i made)
So I see some complaints about the games after Apollo justice, like you gave the spotlight to a new character but then put Phoenix right back in his original spot. I can see how a lot of people who grew attached to Apollo were upset by this and those that were a fan of Phoenix being a mentor were too. I think I have an idea on how a new game could fix this: Lawyer selection!
When a new case starts, you can choose which lawyer will take the case, Athena, Apollo, or Phoenix, each will have unique dialogue, and interpretations of the scene (for jokes, not the outcome), and you can also pick who will help you on the case too! Your partners can be Maya, Trucy, or either of the two Lawyers you didn't pick at the beginning. The prosecutors for the cases are locked in and don't change based on who you play as, this gives us the chance to see how Apollo or Athena would fair against Edgeworth, or Phoenix have a rematch with Klavier.
The person you pick as a partner can also lend you a hand in court, like if you picked Phoenix, he will offer you the Magatama, Athena will use Widget, and Apollo will tell you what he perceives. They all lead to the same conclusions. Maya however is special. Maya will do her usual thing but if you are really struggling during the trial (you go through the testimony a few times or get at least 3 penalties), then there will be a prompt when you talk to Maya that she can summon Mia to aid you, Mia will basically act like a hint system, she'll help you once and if you think you'll be fine for the rest of the trial without her, she will leave and Maya will be back.
I feel like this would be a great idea and you can experience each match-up on different playthroughs, of course, this is just a suggestion but I think it would be a good game and give people a chance to tell their own versions.
As for the story, due to how the characters would be interchanging, it would have to revolve around all involved, specifically everyone that works for the Wright Anything Agency. So I was thinking "Well there were quite a few psychos that got caught and thrown in prison thanks to these people, what if they teamed up for revenge?"
I made a list of the more psychotic killers that would be in this alliance:
---
Main trilogy:
Frank Sahwit- He seems scummy enough to join,
Redd White- I'm on the fence about him but I think he'd join.
Damon Gant- he'd still be alive and he's loopy enough to do it I think
Matt Engarde- No doubt would want revenge
Furio Tigre- He's hot-headed so I think he'd want to get some revenge.
Dahlia Hawthorne- she would need to be summoned but it's possible she'd be involved if contacted.
AJ:
Kristoph- obviously.
Alita Tiala- she's similar to Frank and Furio, not hesitant at all to get dirty.
DD:
Florent L'Belle- He legit threatened to kill Apollo, he's demented enough in my eyes.
Aristotle Means: believes his idea of the law is superior, he'd def wanna get rid of those against him.
Phantom- I'm on the fence with him.
SOJ:
Pierce Nichody- he's fueled by hatred and jealousy, and calling Miles and Phoenix tumors def puts him on the list.
---
I didn't include the Khura'in suspects because they're incarcerated in Khura'in and not Japanifornia. But this seems like a group full of bitter people that wanna see the Wright Anything Agency burn.
Anyway, what do you guys think? this is just an idea I came up with today so there's room for fixes, and if you know of other culprits that can go on the list, let me know and tell me why. I'm happy to hear feedback!

My brain came up with an "Obey me!" scenario.
Me and Leviathan watch the Alita: Battle Angel movie.
Leviathan: (faints at the one really "edgy" scene near the end)
Me: (pauses as Lucifer appears)
Lucifer: (raises eyebrow) "And just what are you two watching?"
Me: "A science fiction story about the end of civilization and deadly crime lords. With most characters swapping out their real bodies for robot ones."
Lucifer: (points to the paused screen) "And that is?"
Me: "The story hinting at how violent the books get."
Lucifer: "I would hope you are-"
Me: "Lucifer. I am never letting Levi read the manga. Because THAT-" (points at screen) "-is literally the most mild thing in the books. By a large margin."
Bonus scenario:
A screech is heard in Leviathan's room followed by a heavy thud.
Lucifer: (goes very still) "What was that?"
Me: (noticing my manga collection has things missing) "Levi got to the thing I told him not to read. He probably got to the end of that one volume..."
Lucifer: (raises eyebrow) "Do I want to know?"
Me: (heading to Leviathan's room) "No. I do not want you getting ideas to use on anyone that makes you mad enough to go full demon punishment mode."

Tears In The Rain

Chapter 1: Interlinked
Characters: Chiren, Alita, Joi (Blade Runner 2049)
Fandom(s): Alita Battle Angel x Blade Runner 2049 crossover/Alita sequel (Robert please get on this)
Summary: After the events of Alita: Battle Angel, Chiren wakes up with some memories of what had previously happened to her. A friend from the past helps her become human again. She's greeted with a new companion. Joi. Things happen from there...
Warnings: lots of angst, Joi and Chiren being flirty, Alita being a boss, robot/cyborg stuff, and fluff if you squint.
A/n: I don't know how I came up with this concept but I love both Blade runner films and Alita (& the fandom) so much.
Chapter 1: Interlinked
First feeling: None. Second feeling: Feeling, yes. Within cells interlinked. Within cells interlinked, Within cells interlinked.
Chiren felt everything come together in her body, her new one, within her cells interlinked, within her cells interlinked, within her cells interlinked.
She woke up on a bed of sorts, in an empty room, a bright light above her head blasting into her eyes. Struggling to tilt her head to her left side there’s a large window that covered the whole wall from floor to ceiling. What is that? Making out blurry images becoming clear now. It was a gray sky, raining out, pouring, sad for her thought. Successfully she got up, as she noticed she wasn’t wearing any clothing feeling weary. This wasn’t any place, this was her home. Her bed, her window, her kitchen, yada yada yada.
There was a chair next to the bed with some lower-class clothes; a sweater, boots, cargo pants, and a fleece-lined trench coat. Far from what she’s used to normally wearing. As she finished putting them on a small folded-up piece of paper slowly fell to the floor from within the coat. Chiren undid the paper, written inside was lettering;
“It’s what I could find. If you want, Joi will tell you a lot, she will go where you please. I’m sorry, for everything…”  -A
Chiren knew who this was who wrote it. ‘Joi?’ the former doctor thought the woman hadn’t seemed to notice that she was thinking out loud. A hologram of a woman appeared standing in front of her, smiling.
“Can I help you Dr. Chiren?” If this was Joi she was definitely kind and polite toward her.
“You’re Joi?” Chiren questioned.
“Yes.”
“Joi. Do you know who wrote this?” Chiren pointed out the slip she held.
“I only assume you know” Joi’s grin became sublime
“It was Alita, wasn’t it? Why am I here? How am I here? I feel different. The last thing I remember was being locked in a box with just my eyes and brain for days” Chiren’s face grew in longing, this was the first time in a while that she felt grief.
“Yes, it was Alita. She went searching for you for a bit, she felt bad about leaving you and retrieved you from Nova. This is your new body, although you still look the same your insides are all synthetic, including your programming. You’re the first human hybrid that I know, and that’s a good thing” Joi stated in a favorable tone.
Chiren raised for her forehead, where the mark of Zalem used to be, was gone, nothing there. She was dismayed and not at the same time. A face of remorse and regret came upon her, with memories of what had been done coming into view.
Visions now made her soon realize that Alita is just who her daughter was before she passed and that she may be Chiren’s only reason to become whole again.
Joi spoke up to break the silence “Dr. Chiren…with your mark removed you’re finally able to feel what most want to feel, like a real human being. Now that you’re back together with your new human hybrid body your lifespan is infinite, you have all the time in the world, so what will you do?”
Chiren thought for a good minute and soon answered; “First thing; Just call me Chiren, second; I’m going to find Alita and I know you know where she is…what year is it?”
Joi was weirdly confused by the last part but smiled for her anyway “Of course, I can do that. Chiren it is then…Chiren…it’s 2584, I’m sorry. I guess I should’ve told you sooner”
“Oh god…I- it's been so long- I have to find her, otherwise I don’t know why I’m supposed to be here…do you know anything else?” Chiren asked.
“Yes actually. Your next sign is in the kitchen.”
“Alright, leaving me hints eh?” She went into her kitchen and saw a letter on top of the microwave, she opened it, seeing what was in there was a piece of paper written with “Joi is quite nice, isn’t she? I hope you’ll bond a relationship with her, as she will follow you anywhere, I programmed her to be accessible outside anywhere too. I hope that is helpful. Meet me at the bar or whatever you usually go to, I promise I’ll be there.” -A
“Hmmm, well I guess let’s get there then”
“Get where?” Joi asked.
“The bar.” That was all she said. Joi decided to go ahead and follow Chiren to the rooftop, they both got into her abandoned Peugeot spinner, it was practically not starting but they eventually got it started in the cold dense rain. “Alita said she’ll be there. And I trust her. How'd you get my car?- Nevermind”
Joi nodded, looking out the window she traced her finger where the raindrops were running across the window, the look on her face was curious, almost acting as if she’d never seen rain before. The corner of Chiren’s eye caught this, it just being a little moment, it’s the little things that matter to her as she remembered. Chiren turned her head to her, setting the car on autopilot as they made their way to the place.
“What are you doing?” Eyeing the innocent one. “Have you not experienced rain before?”
Joi turned and smiled back at her. “I know about rain. It’s programmed in my system, I just haven’t seen or touched it before. I am only a couple of days old too..”
Chiren nodded and let out a grunt in response. “Hmm” Turning her eyes back to the outside weather. Joi’s gaze lowered, about to speak but hesitant at first.
“What was it like…being in there for so long”
Chiren quickly got emotional inside about the question. She started playing with her hands, then rubbed her eyes. “It was horrible. You couldn’t move, couldn’t speak, couldn’t feel…anything, all you could do was blink and watch time pass by. Made me want to just get killed already but I knew it was my punishment, then the rest of my body was sent to the yard. Then everything went black, I don’t know what happened after that”
Joi felt bad about it, and even though she had nothing to do with her punishment, she has sympathy for her nevertheless. “I can’t imagine what that must’ve been like…”
The former doctor met her gaze with the android and let out a sigh, trying to ignore her demons and instead wondering about what she can do. “Thank you…do you feel anything physically?” She asked.
“Physically no. I can only feel things through my database”
Chiren placed her rather attractive hand on the armrest. Keeping eye contact with Joi. “Try feeling this” Saying that as she indicated her hand to Joi “Try. Try as hard as you can to feel touch” Again Joi gave the raven-haired woman innocent eyes along with her fading confusion, proceeding to do the task. Joi was mesmerized by her, she knew she may not be able to physically feel things, but she does have feelings for others, as she was programmed to. She finally moved her hand, right onto hers, Joi focused as much as she could, but unfortunately, it went right through.
“I can’t do it…I know it's leather and plastic but I cannot feel it as what people call it.”
“Hey, that’s okay, I can work something out for you alright? Did the shops around here stay the same?"
***
The two arrived at their destination. The building was a part of a large warehouse complex that seemed to stay the same, just more filthy and worn, the walls covered in dirt and grim. Definitely shady. It used to be at least a bit cleaner than this. Everything changed now, including her own appearance, going from looking like a rich snob to the lower class even though her good-sized penthouse is high up there. Again, just appearance. Chiren reached into her coat to scratch herself. Hey, she felt that. It felt good. While doing so, she looked at the note again. 'This better be true' she thought to herself, folding the paper away.
Chiren motioned for Joi to follow her. Joi faded from the inside of the vehicle, reappearing outside the car and standing up. The slightly taller woman looked up into the sky, letting the water hit her face. Knowing she could feel again, relieved her. Looking back at Joi she saw her doing the same. Instead, the water droplets fell through her hologram. The recovering woman saw this and sadness swooned upon her again, knowing she was a real person, neither was she really. Did it all not matter? No. She had a real mind and heart, she is a real human being. Yeah. Real to her anyway.
"Come on, let's go inside."
And so they did, finally realizing they were getting soaked. Running inside now remembering oh hey it's pouring out.
Opening the door inside they are greeted with the smell of sweat and smoke and with the sight of dirty gray walls and a table to sit at.
"Well, this place went to shit."
Chiren raised one eyebrow with a fuzzy feeling still clouding her mind. She looked over the several booths, her eyes locking on jet-black hair, walking in that direction and her conscience is revealed. Playing with her hands and staring in awe Alita stood up from her seat. Both had stunned almost blank expressions on their faces looking at each other. Alita didn't know what to do other than break the silence.
"Chiren…..I-"
"How am I here?" She almost said it like a statement. Confused. Almost blessed with rage and tranquility at the same time.
"I searched for your box for days tracking you, I fought them because I left you there and Ido- I found you after losing your location before, I eventually found you…after so long, I brought you to Ido's and replicated your old body luckily he taught me how to do that at least, transferred you to your place, and set up Joi for you. I couldn't meet you there because there's a gang after me. I'm sorry I didn't want to leave you there all alone I had to stop-"
"What about Ido? I take it I missed the funeral. Ya know I actually loved him and my….. daughter… I was kept in that box forever waiting for something or anything to happen, I was in a jar for years! Thank zalem I went into hibernation 2 days in luckily but still. I have no one. Before too. Now anyone remotely close is dead except for you. You're the closest thing to me ever having a daughter again…"
Chiren let herself down, everyone in the bar wouldn't stop looking. She eventually sat down and let out a quiet sigh. Alita across from her did the same. Joi looked at the both of them reading their faces, noticing the disdain in Chiren’s voice when she mentioned her dead daughter she lost so long ago. Alita knows she has every right to despise Ido for it, still made her angry about what happened so long ago. Ido has been gone forever. Chiren will never get to tell him how sorry she is, how she regretted causing everything to fall apart after her child’s passing, She could’ve done more when she had the time. Why didn’t she? Gosh, she was a wreck through and through but no she wants to do what’s right. To both of them. Joi sat next to the grieving woman.
“You say people are after you? How’d this happen?”
Alita’s big eyes widened. “Yes…long story short I stole Joi here, from them…”
“How much was she?
“A lot. I’m also struggling to get back an adapter for her. It would make her a solid and not just a hologram.”
Joi gave a look on her face that shined with hope and desire. Wanting to be able to live as the closest to being something real. The program went to put her hand on the much older woman’s thigh. When they both looked down at the same time Chiren felt sullen for her, only a hologram's touch. Knowing Joi just wanted some reassurance for herself, Chiren gave her a slight nod before rubbing her thumb on the translucent humanoid even though neither of their nerves had a trigger in their systems or brains if you will. Showing her some compassion as well. Loving care. Was this a sign of love? Compassion? It was the first time neither of them have felt warmness, for Chiren that was a long time.
Alita tried to not think of it that much even though it was pretty obvious that was a kind move on Chiren’s part.
“If we somehow get the adapter from them, Joi can do a lot more than set appliances to make dinner and schedule appointments for you.”
Chiren thought for a good second or so. “What’s your living situation?” She asked. Thinking up a plan for all of this.
“I’m still living at Ido’s place. Although it has been rotting, literally, water damage and hail damage were caused by the big storm we had a few years back.
The woman across from her raised an eyebrow again. “I’m not an expert but I sure know it’s very unsafe to live in a place with mold that bad. The air. Is it affecting you?”
The super android fidgeted with their hands. Chiren didn’t know that anxiety happened in andriods like this. She knew that they could have anxiety but not till a level where physical stumulation happened. “I’m only doing some light coughing. But other than that I am fine.”
“That’s not good for you. I know you’re different but it can still mess up your internals. I want you to move in with me. If you’re fine with it that is but you’re not living in a suitable environment and I would prefer if you…do that.”
“Okay, when do we start?”
“Joi turn off so we can make room for Alita here in the car.”
***
Chiren had the spinner do an auto-pilot landing on the street. “I take it you’ll probably have a few items you want to bring with right?”
“Yeah I do. I’ll be a few.”

Angstober 10: Can't Go Home
Ugh, I'm so behind at posting these. 😅 I've been producing flash fics fairly reliably, but getting into the right mindset for editing them is another matter.
Anyway, this is another instance at poking at that one ever-growing plot bunny. Links to previous installments: [1], [2], [3], [4]
Alita longed to go home, and she didn’t even know what she meant by that.
The capital steered up a whirlwind old memories. The kind of memories she’d firmly believed were her sister’s domain. She had been, after all, too young when she was spirited away to the outskirts of the kingdom. How could she possibly retain anything but the vaguest impressions of being a babe here at court, hiding behind her mother’s skirts or bouncing on her father’s knee? Surely every image that ever flickered in her mind was at least halfway a product of her imagination.
And yet now that she walked the marble-lined paths of the indoors garden, she was struck by the familiarity of it all. She’d round a corner, and recognize something: a red-barked tree with its leaves eternally gilded, or a peculiar formation of rose bushes. A scent in the air. A particularly slippery patch of stone under the soft soles of her shoes. All of it felt like something she’d once had and could never get back again, even though here she was, existing awkwardly in the middle of it all.
Perhaps it was her imagination. After all, it had been a decade. Even more than that. It seemed inconceivable for the palace to spend all that time suspended in limbo, awaiting her return. Within this buoyant heart of the kingdom, changed happened rapidly. Styles went out of fashion as swiftly as summer butterflies back in Longhills changed their colors. It must be true for gardening as well as hairdos and dresses.
Longhills. Another home she painfully missed. The comfort of her uncle’s mansion, the predictability of her days there. Long evenings by the fire. Books and chess. Helping the old cook, Ghilta, around the kitchen even though she wasn’t supposed to. Feeding seeds and fresh peas to the starlings that lived in the garden right outside her room. Planting gardenias and lilies. Finding purpose in every moment of the day.
Here, she had nothing to do except follow her uncle around—and even that wasn’t always an option. Like now. He’d brought her here to the gardens so that they could discreetly observe the courtiers, then find a secluded place to discuss the recent developments. However, they’d barely stepped inside when a servant called after them, an old man with a bushy beard and the King’s personal insignia plastered proudly over his blue livery. He’d spoken to Uncle Rythan in a whisper too low for Alita to hear and pushed something into his hands before disappearing behind a wall of vibrant succulents. Alita watched her uncle grow tight-lipped and still.
“It won’t take long,” he had promised her, neglecting as usual to explain what it meant. “You just take a walk here, all right? Keep your eyes and ears open and make sure not to wander too far from the gates. I’ll be with you anon.”
At least an hour had elapsed since, if her inner clock could be trusted at all. Alita had done her best to follow her uncle’s guidance, strolling back and forth along the same semi-circular path, except she must have got lost in thought and taken a wrong turn at some point, because she could no longer see the entrance. Everywhere she turned her gaze, there were trees and blossoms, hedges and complicated arrangements of rocks. She heard no voices and saw no bejeweled fabrics.
Helplessly, she looked around once more. Now how was her uncle going to find her? The entrance was in the western part of this fake park, she remembered that much. It did little to help her, though. If this was a real garden, she could have relied on the position of the sun and the natural growth patterns of plants to orient herself. Here, it was useless. Everything was artificial. Whatever light filtered through the vaulted stained glass ceiling got hopelessly distorted by the kaleidoscopic mosaic.
What a stupid fool she was, to get lost in what was essentially a single big room full of plants! Alita drew a shuddery breath, wrapping her arms around herself. Uncle Rythan had misjudged her. He should have brought Norra. Her sister would take to court like a bird to the sky. So what if she would be a little distracted? Uncle Rythan didn’t need as much input as he’d claimed he would. They’d hardly been talking at all this entire week.
I don’t know what I’m doing, she admitted to herself with a sinking heart, and the thought applied to so much more than her current predicament.
The paths and the trees that had felt so achingly familiar a moment ago were now a strange maze, a trap closing in on her. Alita gulped. She needed to retrace her steps—an obvious, sane choice—but she’d been stuck in place for a little too long and she didn’t know whether she should go left or right.
Norra would go for a third option. But there wasn’t—
Wait. No. There was.
Between two swirling flower beds, there lay another path, a narrower one leading deep into a copse of unnaturally lush lilac trees.
Weren’t there lilacs in front of the entrance, too?
It was this, or do nothing. Alita squared her shoulders and stepped forth. The lace-trimmed hem of her dress kissed golden sand instead of marble; her silk-clad feet drowned in the softness. Was this passage even made for the noble guests’ walking, or was she intruding upon the servants’ territory? How absurd was this thought?
The trees closed rank in front of her, branches covered in thorns that lilacs weren’t supposed to have. She pushed one aside, then another. A thorn caught on one of her narrow sleeves, digging deep into the seam and her goosebump-covered flesh underneath. Alita yelped.
“Who goes there?”
She froze at the sharp male voice, then hastened to step back. Too late.
The branches unfolded in front of her, as if by magic, revealing a small clearing. Two men stood there, intimately close together. One of them was of a smaller height than average, with a nondescript face and shrewd eyes. The other...
Alita barely suppressed a gasp.
“Your Highness.” She fumbled with her skirts in the best version of a formal curtsy she was capable of. She suspected it wasn’t a seemly sight. It never was with her, no matter how often she practiced. “I’m so incredibly sorry to intrude—”
“I’m certain you are.” It was a wonder no leaves shriveled or frosted over from the chill in Prince Cassar’s voice. “I would expect nothing less from a court guest devoid of any rights or privileges, intentionally caught in the act of spying on the heir to the throne.”
“I wasn’t...” She made the mistake of looking up. Under the weight of his glare, the words withered in her throat.
What had she got herself into?

Hi, I’m Looking for anime recs. A bit of background: I’m 24, I’ve been “meaning to get into anime” since I was a kid. I love the art style and I love a few shows and I love following anime blogs, but I generally haven’t seen much, y’know?
I love Madoka Magica. It’s the only anime I have rewatched a bunch of times. A billion times, that’s a conservative estimate, I love it so much. But idk, every other anime I’ve seen I usually just find it “okay” to “pretty good.” Madoka Magica touched some intimate part of me that no other anime has ever done. I would just like to find another anime I could love almost as much. Please recommend me more anime.
Some other anime things I’ve seen
>Little Witch Academia (saw the whole thing once, enjoyed it)
>Ghost Stories (the dub, not the sub, though usually I prefer subs. I thought it was fucking hilarious)
>Darling In The Franxx (watched the whole show when it came out, it was okay)
>Bleach (watched the first season and a few episodes of the second, lost interest eventually. This was my first anime, I watched it dubbed)
>This Ugly Yet Beautiful World (saw the whole thing when I was young, it was pretty bad. I only saw it because at the time streaming services weren’t everywhere and this was available to watch free)
>Neon Genesis Evangelion (watched a few episodes and got caught up in other things. I keep meaning to watch it all the way through, but I haven’t finished it)
>K-ON (same as Eva)
>Cowboy Bebop (same as K-ON)
>Steins:Gate (watched a couple episodes and thought it was kinda cool but the main characters annoying and I dropped it)
>Death Note (started the first episode but never finished)
>One Punch Man (started the first episode but never finished)
>Battle Angel Alita (started the first episode but never finished. I enjoyed the live action movie though, saw it multiple times)
>Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid (started the first episode but never finished)
>Angels Of Death (started the first episode but never finished)
>Gurren Lagann (started the first episode but never finished)
>A Place Further Than The Universe (started the first episode but never finished)
>Yu-Gi-Oh (saw a bit of the dub as a kid)
>Pokémon (same as Yu-Gi-Oh)
>Night On The Galactic Railroad (watched the dub a few times as a kid, watched it again recently as an adult and still enjoyed it)
I’d say if we’re to list the main appeals Madoka has for me, it’s
>the surreal/psychedelic animation in the witch rooms and in flashbacks. I like funky animation. I like the unique visual experience. Not anime, but my favorite movie as a little kid was Yellow Submarine, and I still love that movie. I also like the internet animators David Firth and Jakiv Burov. Ralph Bakshi is pretty good, I love Fritz The Cat. That stuff always appeals to me
>the fact that they’re all cute girls, I like cute anime girls and that’s why I so want to get into anime despite not having seen much
>the emotional depth of the show
>the fact that everything wraps up in a satisfying way
>that no time is wasted, there’s no filler episodes, it’s 12 episodes and each one is important and progresses the story forward
Hello!
Based on your perimeters, I think you would really enjoy Princess Tutu and Revolutionary Girl Utena. They're magical girl anime like Madoka Magica (although Utena kinda straddles the line) that are much more psychological than what is typical of the genre. I will say that both series are longer than PMMM (Princess Tutu is 26 episodes and Utena is 39 episodes) but from what I recall most episodes are heavy on plot/character development.
Yuki Yuna is a Hero is another series you might like; it's another magical girl anime quite similar to Madoka Magica and the first season is only 12 episodes (and it stands alone quite nicely). There are follow-up seasons but they're also only 12 episodes each.
Also, I recommend making a post on the r/Animesuggest subreddit! Just copy-paste what you wrote here. If any of my followers have suggestions, please leave them!
Oh, and I definitely recommend finishing Gurren Lagann. It's one of the best anime I've ever seen.

Similiarities between Stray and Alita: Battle Angel
I plan to make crossover fan arts between Stray and Alita: Battle Angel.
But first, I want the fans of both to see what things connects those two titles and why I think they’re a good match to create AUs.
With pictures. Spoilers for both Stray and A:BA.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(In case of the A:BA, I used knowledge from not just the movie, but also things like novelisation, featurettes, the original manga)
Setting
Both Stray and A:BA take place in a post-apocalyptic world, hundreds of years after an event that made humans extinct/almost extinct.
According to this video , Stray could potentially take place in 27th century.
Alita actually takes place in 26th century. So they’re not that far apart in time.
I won’t mention the cyberpunk aesthetic because it’s something you see in many movies and games.
B12/Alita parallels
Both B12 and Alita were in a coma for centuries - until somebody found them -  and have amnesia.
They regain small pieces of their memories gradually. And those memories reveal a dark past.
They remember a world that doesn’t exist anymore, remember things nobody else does.
They’re humans in machine body.
Also, both are the last of their kind (Alita - the last berserker from Mars, and B12 - the last human)
And both in the end are ready to sacrifice themselves and let the city go into a new era. (if you know the original manga’s ending)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cat/ Alita parallels
The main character fell into a pile of trash/rubble and that’s how their adventure in the post-apocalyptic city starts.
Both Alita and Cat - are “out of this world” (Alita literally, the cat is from the Outside). They’re going to bring big changes to the world they fell into.
One of the main similiarities between Stray and A:BA is how the world is divided into layers/levels
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The place where the remains of civilization exist is divided into levels - the higher the level is physically, the higher is its status.
In Alita: Iron City < Zalem < Jeru/LADDER
In Stray: Slums < Midtown < Walls/Control room
Also in both there are sewers that are a very dangerous place.
There is an elevator that connects the levels but it doesn’t work anymore.
The elevator that connected Zalem and Surface was destroyed (only Zalem-Jeru part remained) to protect Zalem from pandemic on Earth.
The Elites cut off the connection with lower level and were watching  as people below die from the pandemic.
And the same thing happened in Stray, Elevators were shut down, but in case of Walled City 99, it failed to save even the elites in the end.
Zalem/Midtown dump their garbage on Iron City/Slums
The Iron City/Slums people are supposed to reuse this garbage.
There is no communication between people of different levels.
The city (Walled city/Zalem) sealed itself from outside dangers. In general, nobody from the Surface can go inside it, and the citizens don’t go outside.
I even see similiarity in how you perceive the levels
From the lowest level (Iron City, Slums), you can see the edge of the mid level (Zalem/Midtown) with it’s buildings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meanwhile, the last, highest level is so out-of reach and mysterious, you can be unaware it even exist.
There are only small hints, like windows in the walls (Stray),  star in the sky that never moves (Alita) and the fact the elevators have to lead somewhere. In both cases those hints give you no idea how those places looks like (Jeru/Control room), unlike with Zalem and Midtown where at least you have some glimpse.
It’s a depressing, dark world, but there is still joy and music
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cute small vehicles
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Factory/Neco Corp exist as both law enforcement and produce all goods.
And you don’t want to deal with their Centurions/Sentinels...
Control Room
I know I compared Control Room to Jeru, but in A:BA movie, we saw briefly a mysterious control room in Zalem.
Both control rooms share some vibes - they’re sterile with bright light, standing out from any previous location we saw before, with concrete walls. And a dark control panel.
Here, the elites watch from above and decide on people’s fate by pushing buttons.
The number 99
For both titles, the number 99 is special.
Alita remembers that in the past, she was called “number 99″.
The city where Stray takes place is  “Walled City 99″
In both cases we don’t know what this number indicates.
Were there 98 other cities? Were there other 98 Martian berserkers?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hope you had a nice read!
If you would like to add something to it, feel free to tell me.

Ace attorney character whichever you like going to the country turkey for work. Maybe?
Ahhh, Ben Türkiye'de yaşıyorum! Hemen yazacağım! Çok teşekkür ederim, Allah razı olsun @umi-teardrop ! ♥️✨
The scientific detective, none other than Ema Skye, was given documents by The Chief Prosecutor to give to The Last Rites Prosecutor.
"Ugh, how high up is this building?!"
She thought to herself as she was walking up the stairs of the 10 story Prosecutors' Building. The Chief Prosecutor didn't allow any elevators because of the incident that scarred him for the rest of his life.
Prosecutor Sahdmadhi wanted his office closest to The Chief Prosecutor's because he is a prosecutor that can be relied on and is the most busy out of all.
Ema: "FINALLY! I'VE REACHED THIS MAN'S OFFICE!"
She knocked the door only to find out that he isn't in his office, she opened it because she has a copy of the key to Sahdmadhi's office. There was nobody. She walked further only to find a note on the desk that said:
"I know that Detective Skye will be the first to read this. Detective, you should start packing your bags due to the fact that we have a work trip to The Country of Turkey."
Ema then thought to herself:
"Does he NEVER take a break?!?"
She placed the documents on his desk and went home because she finished her job for the day.
The Scientific Detective packed her bags and then she decided to give a certain prosecutor a call.
She picked up her phone and called Prosecutor Sahdmadhi.
On Nahyuta's side:
Nahyuta was in his room, in pyjamas, packing his bags as he was chatting with his foster brother, Apollo Justice.
Nahyuta: "So then what happened?"
Apollo: "After that, me and Trucy talked to Alita Tiala and she said that she wanted us to do our best to get Wocky Kitaki off the hook-"
Nahyuta's phone rang.
Nahyuta: "Oh, Apollo, can you please lend me my phone?"
Apollo: "Sure!"
Apollo gave Nahyuta his phone.
Nahyuta answered the call,
"Good Evening, Detective Skye."
Ema: "Good Evening, Prosecutor Sahdmadhi. When is this trip to Turkey?"
Nahyuta: "It's the day after tomorrow."
Ema: "Won't we be needing a translator? I mean, neither of us speak Turkish-"
Nahyuta: "Pardon? Ne dedin daha yeni?"
[Pardon? What did you just say?]
Ema: "What-"
Nahyuta: "I said 'Pardon? What did you just say?'."
Ema: "Was that Turkish?!"
Nahyuta: "Yes, it in fact was Turkish."
Ema: "You speak Turkish? Since when did that happen!?"
Ema was genuinely surprised because she didn't know that he spoke Turkish.
Apollo's voice could be heard on the phone saying:
"Bende Türkçe konuşabilirim!"
[I can speak Turkish too!]
Ema: "Was that Apollo?"
Nahyuta: "It certainly was. He said that he can speak Turkish too. We will be alright, we won't need a translator."
Ema always knew that Nahyuta and Apollo were hyper polyglots but she had no idea they spoke Turkish.
Ema: "Okayyyyy... I'll be going..."
Nahyuta: "Tamam. İyi geceler, Detektif Skye."
[Alright. Goodnight, Detective Skye.]
That is where their conversation ended.

Are there any comics you like that you feel would be great adapted into another medium?
Personally I think most if not all comics/manga work best in for animation that way you can keep the style and design of the comic without making any compromises. Video games being another room.
American Vampire, East of West, Battle Angel Alita, The Mask all would make for good content for animated shows/movies.
I also would love if the original Ghost in the Shell manga and Akira got new anime adaptations. Which reminds me that Taika Waititi is making a live action Akira movie and I'm very afraid.

A small path; a short, narrow hallway; and a maze.
In the hallway, a froggit hops in front of me. Ouriel sees the froggit and looks at me with a look that says “Just ignore it.”
I press MERCY, but don't see any Flee options. I try to spare it, but nothing happens. It opens its mouth and releases a massive swarm of flies. I try to avoid them all, but I can't. Each one that lands on me starts biting me, releasing burn inducing neurotoxins, and I start shrieking in pain. Ouriel turns around again, horrified, and burns the flies before any more damage is done. A knife appears in my hand, and I plunge it into the froggit. It turns to dust, leaving a nightmarish skeleton behind. Then the skeleton turns to dust, too.
My Lv and HP increase. I sit there, eyes wide and hands trembling, my body still feeling as though it's on fire. Ouriel offers her hand and helps me up. As I take her hand, it emits a soft, green glow. The neurotoxins get forced out of my body, and so does a lot of sweat. I become very clammy and weak very quickly, but with a quick Restore HP and Restore ATK, I’m just clammy.
Ouriel leads me to the maze. It looks like a floor of rusty, bloody spikes.
“Due to my immunity to tetanus, I just walk through the spikes,” Ouriel says. “Yes, the blood is mine.”
{Really Mo– Ouriel?}
I look at the spikes, then at Ouriel, then back at the spikes. “Go on,” Ouriel encourages. “You’ll be fine.” I stare at the spikes, then at the holes in my hands. I take a deep breath and begin traversing the maze. About halfway through the maze, a monstrous, hungry moth-like creature flies up to me, blood and froth dripping from its mouth.
{Hungermoth spots you!}
The buttons return. I press SUMMON. A new option has appeared, labeled “Sol’s Barrage.” I select it, and two yellow guns appear in my hands. Five more yellow guns appear next to me. I start blasting.
Dust in seconds. No skeleton to speak of. EXP and Gold increase.
As I make through the rest of the maze, which is a lot longer and deadlier than I thought it was, I get impaled and attacked and nearly die several times. At the end of the maze, I’m already at Lv 8. I left no survivors.
Ouriel sees me covered in blood and dust. “Are you alright, Alita?” She asks.
I nod silently.
“Well then, here’s a phone, as I assume yours is no longer functional,” Ouriel continues as she hands me a very modern looking phone. I take it and compare it to my destroyed flip phone. I nod in gratitude.
“You’re welcome! Now, I need to go prepare something at my house. I’m sure you can manage yourself.”
With that, Ouriel leaves. I continue moving forward through the Remnants as well. The next room holds a few things. Another red savepoint, a few leaf piles, and a hoard of froggits, hungermoths, and spherical mouthless cyclopses. I sneak to the savepoint and search the room for anything useful. A page from a spellbook. The spell on this page is “Cuerpo Collapse.” From my limited knowledge of Spanish, I can deduce that it causes the body of the target to implode.
Welp, only one thing left to do. A few of the hungermoths spot me and charge at me, trying to take bites out of me. I successfully avoid getting eaten and cast Cuerpo Collapse. Suddenly, eight hungermoths and froggits jerk about, before their torsos rip open, revealing hypercompressed internal organs. Scarlet and teal blood pours out as these eight turn to dust. Up next are five of those cyclopses.
{A posse of Liox surrounds you!}
The eyes of the Liox open vertically, revealing long, deadly tongues and razor sharp needle teeth. The sight is repulsive. I manage not to gag and summon Chiara’s Wrath. I swiftly deal with the rest of the hoard, and even then it takes almost an hour.
At the end, I’m left with Lv 18.
