making a webcomic with my friend and its like a low fantasy world n the main characters r just a bunch of friends in a band. and it's accidental hero trope bc really they're just trying to achieve fame and success with their band but all these bad guys keep trying getting in the way so they really have no choice but to beat them up. like when they're still a pretty small band, they turn up to some dingy little bar for a gig and there's like some dodgy shitty criminal shit going on like the bar owners being controlled and threatened for money or smthg and theyre like, well we can't fuckin play here when this shits going on, guess we gotta deal with these dicks first. it's awesome I love it so so much already.

but also its hilarious because like. every character we've made is partly just me projecting my favourite one piece characters in to our world💀there's a himbo drummer guy who, for an unexplained reason, doesnt have any sort of fantasy powers or anything, just got a mean right hook, who reminds me STRONGLY of a mix of luffy and zoro, there's a violinist I came up with who is 100 percent nico robin, portgas d. ace except he's a vampire and the lead vocalist, a super nerdy geeky girl but she plays bass and is actually cool as fuck and a cyborg and the mom friend totally a mix of franky and maybe nami. and of course the honorary gay depressed emo one (lead guitarist) who is just an alt universe version of law.

God this is going to be so much fun

Has anyone felt frustrated or aggravated by WebToon in general, like at any point in time? Looking back on my experiences as a comic artist & a reader on there, I feel like the general user experience is very...annoying.

It's trying so hard to keep my attention, and when I take notice of that I feel like sours my relationship with it.

I could be speaking for everyone when I say that it's YouTube for webcomics. I can tell from getting caught up in YouTube's algorithmic loop for YEARS.

It's bad enough that WebToon turned the comic format on its head to appease mobile devices, called them "episodes," & is over-saturated with the same kind of media that's all over the manga industry (cheesy romance stories which more often than not, have a love triangle...I know they're not always like that, but a lot of them are).

Bonus if this ex-friend has been recruited by a religious group, gets their laptop out while on a friend gathering to 'work', always brags about their 'life goals' when they can't even be functional and responsible, has been talking about investments and passive income, is addicted with 'productivity' videos, and has once admitted their envy towards some group members for having cars and affording travels.

Wow I loved that moment in the homestuck epilogues where it was revealed that even though they never god tiered all of the trolls are also immortal in the same way the god tiered people are since they also made the universe and also all of the trolls who died came back to life and were given immortality as well isnt that so cool I loved that moment haha

:O tell me about the wizards!!

I will more than happily yell about my wizards!

There's 14 of them that are really important to the whole story! 13 of them are old and living their absolute best lives, and three of them are in fact dragons that decided these old people were really fun to hang out with. The 14th wizard is a young teenager who basically gained a whole bunch of grandparents. She's called Violet and she is both a menace and a delight.

Number one wizard/grandpa is Grim. He's a slightly grumpy old man who does genuinely care a lot about those around him. He also hates his name with a passion so has put a curse on it so unless you're at least as powerful as him, you can't say it without something happening to you. The curse effect is mostly harmless and random, his favourites have been someones hair growing extremely rapidly, vomiting glitter, and their voice being replaced by trumpet sounds. His full name is Griogrim Xourael Dradum Zredelus. "Yeah, I couldn't be anything other than a wizard could I? Oh yeah, that's Griogrim Zredelus the baker."
