The concept of Wandavision would’ve worked so good with Loki.
Like he’s running from the TVA and trying to figure out the mystery of the timekeepers, so he basically takes an apocalypse timeline hostage to use as his safe spot and base of operations, and enchants everyone there to think they’re living in a perfectly normal suburban town…. all the while the literal end of the world is approaching and there’s the whole creepy existential mystery element of him trying to piece everything together about the TVA.
Sylvie can be his accomplice and she comes and goes from the “hex” (more like a big enchantment bubble filled with illusions) to help with the investigating.
Mobius is the only person inside the hex besides loki that knows it’s not real.
The entire time the TVA people are trying to find them, and B-15 is the one that figures out the hiding in apocalypses thing (cause she’s smart af) but she doesn’t tell Ravonna cause she’s secretly on their side.
Loki and Mobius are playing the part of 2 small town detectives trying to bust a big criminal organisation, but as the show goes on it’s revealed that they’re actually trying to bust the TVA.
It’s like a creepy sci-fi mystery type thing, because for the first few episodes the audience doesn’t even know what’s going on and genuinely believes the buddy cop storyline.

What if instead of Sylvie, Loki falls in love with a variant called Lok that looks exactly like him throughout the series, but experiences the same loneliness and devastation of being ‘the dangerous variant’?
When they get to He Who Remains’s fortress, they fight. And what occurs after is all the more... chaotic.

“Trust me... you don’t want to do this.”
“Oh, I think I do. Can’t you see the TVA has hurt us, hurt you? He’s taken everything from us. And now you want to simply abandon the mission?” Lok speaks and the Loki can see the clear hurt in his eyes. His grip on the sword tightens.
“I know they did. But what if by killing him we risk unleashing something even worse? The balance of the universe is at stake.”
Lok sneers at him, “And when was the balance of the universe ever your problem?”
Anger flared in Loki and fought against the calm he was trying to maintain throughout this conversation. “When you became a part of it.”
“Sentimentality,” Lok spat, “You think you can flatter me? The only thing that should matter is the mission.”
“All I’m suggesting is that we take a minute to think about it.”
Emerald green eyes, a direct contrast to Loki’s crystalline blue, looked at him incredulously. The curves of Lok’s lips curled downward into a frown.
“What was I thinking, trusting you?”
“You can trust me,” Loki whispers, but he could see every ounce of reason in Lok’s face was gone. The act was swift and he had only mere seconds to dodge Lok’s sword before he was making his own move, swinging the sword his younger self had given him for this mission. The mission.
They’d been so adamant on finding out the truth behind Alioth, behind the TVA and who had wronged them. But how could Loki have known that the man behind the veil would not only be the one who orchestrated this whole mess but had also been the one who maintained some resemblance of order?
And Lok... Loki had met him only a few days ago, and yet he felt an infinite connection with the variant like nothing he’d ever felt before. The first time he felt it, he didn’t want to acknowledge it. Lok was ridiculously stubborn, angry and unpredictable, like himself. But he was also sensitive and kind when he wanted to be. Loki saw it first hand when he’d been injured in the blast after their failed attempt to board the Ark. The rubble had fallen over him and it was Lok who had gripped his shoulder and pulled him out of it.
“Stay still, I can’t heal you if you won’t stop squirming,” Lok snarled, which Loki noticed he did a lot.
“I am trying!” Loki protests, as he lets the variant heal the deep cut that had pierced through his stomach. Fortunately it had missed his vital organs, but it still hurt like Hel. And Lok’s magic, whatever it was, was not working fast enough. The green light that poured into his wound knit through the damage.
“You’re not. I can take more pain then you’re enduring under my touch,” Lok spoke, and Loki looks up to meet the variant’s eyes. Apart from the different eye color, Lok was like looking straight into a mirror. Same facial features, expressions, the way Lok furrowed his eyebrows also made Loki wonder if that was how he looked when he was concentrating intently on something. Or the way his lips tightened.
With a final hiss, the wound sealed itself and Loki felt the pressure Lok was applying on his stomach disappear, as well as the hand that had been touching his neck. He felt its loss, the warmth of it, and he felt a little unsteady. It was probably the blood loss, and the fact that they were going to die anyway.
“I don’t know why you insisted on healing me when we’re going to die,” Loki spoke softly, looking up at the sky. They’d dragged, or rather Lok had pulled Loki, out of the city and into an abandoned pond area. Remnants of the meteors from the dying planet about to impact against Lamentis flew straight down, burning around them.
“I...” Lok doesn’t finish his sentence, but Loki can see something in his eyes that makes him understand. You didn’t want to die alone, Loki thought, realizing that he didn’t want to die on his own as well.
In spite of the imminent death that hovered over them, Loki found himself feeling safer and calmer then he felt in a while. If this was the end, then at least I went down fighting...
Loki sees Lok shudder, and Loki gently takes Lok’s hand. The look of surprise in the variant’s face almost makes him laugh, but his smile had already reached his eyes. “I know.”
“We never survive...” Lok speaks, and the defense mechanism, the usual growl or retort at the end of his usual conversation slips. And that’s when Loki sees him, really sees Lok for the first time. The fear, the regret, the pain, the aching sadness of a life unfulfilled. Lok’s entire life from the day he was on the run was riddled with bitterness and disappointment. All of that was absorbed and reflected in his viridescent eyes. “We’re destined to lose.”
“We may lose,” Loki says and he takes Lok’s hand in his, weaving his to the other man’s. That same buzz of energy and warmth he’d felt was back, thrumming through his hand. “But we never die. There’ll always be a Loki. Always.”
Lok tightens the fingers interlocking with his, and Loki feels what he could only imagine was an earthquake shake his entire core. It could have easily been the ground starting to shudder beneath him, but he felt something inside of him blossom in him that was unfamiliar. Warm. Comforting.
And Lok. Loki saw the faintest of smiles finally grace those lips that had been so used to frowning with disappointment.
I wish I’d met you sooner, Loki thought, and that was his only regret as the world roared around them, smoke flourishing from all sides as the meteor hit the planet’s surface...
They would have died that day, if Mobius hadn’t found the strange Nexus Event occurring on screen. “The Nexus Event the two of you caused... how did you do it?” Those had been Mobius’s words as the TVA agents strapped the Time Collars on their necks and pulled them away from each other.
That had been then. And this was now.
“You said you wouldn’t betray me!” Lok screams as he swings his sword with quick precision, the tip scratching Loki’s arm. It was a knick, a warning, Loki knew it.
“I’m not!” Loki shouted and swung to the other side as Lok pulled a chair with his magic and shot it back in his direction, green sparks flying around him.
A frustrated snarl escapes Lok’s lips as Loki appears before Loki and grabs him, locking them together in a tight and forced tangle of arms, each of them holding the edge of their blades right on their necks.
“You’re a liar! You only ever wanted the throne. You pretended to care, but what can you hope to gain from befriending me? Nothing! I’m nothing to you!”
“No, Lok, that’s not true-”
“Then you’d have joined me and we’d have taken him down before he even spoke a word! But you chose your side, Loki. And it’s not with me.”
“Maybe he’s lying!” Loki says, “But maybe he’s not!”
“I. don’t. have. time. for. this!” Lok hisses, pushing forward and Loki grits his teeth, the edge scraping his neck.
“We won’t have time for anything, not if he’s right!”
Lok’s eyes burn him, the ice cold anger that lights up within them causes Loki to flinch. He’s knocked back with a kick to the abdomen and it knocks the breath out of Loki. It’s enough for Lok to run straight in the direction of He Who Remains.
The world seems to slow down as Loki conjured his seidr to appear right at the very moment when Lok crashes into him, his blade slicing through his chest. A pained cry escapes Loki. The sword slips from Loki’s fingers, clattering to the ground.
“Stop...”
Loki meant to reach out slowly to Lok, but his attempt fails as he collapses forward, slumping as the sword still embedded into his chest digs deeper. He lets out an agonized cry, and he sees the anger in Lok’s eyes slip away, quickly turning to regret.
“Loki, oh Hel, what have I done,” Lok whispers as he pulls the sword out of Loki. Loki leans forward, losing his step and he feels Lok grab him. He’s kneeling on the marble floor beside Lok, who’d knelt beside him, holding him upright, his hand already reaching out to heal the damage he’d caused.
“Why are you always in my way...” Loki hears it, very subtly, being spoken under Lok’s breath and he lets out a weak laugh.
“Because you are my way.”
Loki doesn’t think, only acts, as he leans closer and this time, he’s not just doing it because his body feels heavier or colder and was drawn to Lok for the warmth. His lips crushed into Lok’s because he needed it. He wanted Lok, desperately. He’d felt the connection in Lamentis when they were about to die. And he had felt it ever since he knew that they were one and the same. In spite of what fate had in store for them, the universe had brought them together. My Lok, always my way, my path, my alternate future.
Lok let out a shocked breath, and Loki thought he might almost break away, but the relief is paramount when Lok’s other hand finds its way up his neck and brushes through his tangled hair. Lips part and they are well matched in their desperation and desire for connection, the pull and taste of each other irresistible. If it weren’t for the agonizing thrum of pain in his chest, Loki would never have parted.
But he does, and when Loki meets Lok’s gaze, his eyebrows furrow in confusion when Lok looks at him with an expression that puzzles him.
“Loki... your eyes...”
Loki feels a tingling sensation around his temples, and it spreads. He feels the heat, mingling among the pain.
“The universe is breaking apart, kids. Time to make up your minds. Or it’ll make it for you,” He Who Remains speaks from the background. “See? It’s choosing Loki.”
“What are you doing to him!” Lok snarls, and He Who Remains sighs.
“The branches, see, they’re alive. Just like you and me. And they want to be stable. They want a new person that can continue my life’s work. Free will is a lie. It always has been.”
“Lok, no,” Loki tries to grab Lok, but his body was weak. Even as he tried to tug at Lok’s leather bound arm, he knew his hold will not last. The euphoria he had felt moments ago is replaced with dread. Had he done the right thing? What was He Who Remains talking about? Was he being chosen to take over already, even if it meant he was an unwilling participant in this grand scheme of things? Maybe that was why he’d survived...
“I am not letting you become the thing I’ve been training my whole life to destroy!” Lok says and he pulls free from Loki.
This time the sword does not miss its aim, sinking deep into He Who Remains. The man slumps into his chair, but not before whispering the words that caused Loki to shiver. “Got you.”

Another Thor ramble
Another Thor preview, so time for a new ramble. cus again, i think this one has some possibly big implications, even if it may not seem so at first. First, just to recap if you have not seen my previous rambles. Since like, the end of War of the Realms, I've been going on about how i thought there was a pantheon wide role switch happening in Asgard, with all the characters giving up their old roles and stepping into new ones. While i haven't gotten all the details right, this has basically proven correct, with time. It is at this point no longer a theory, it's what's happening, there's no debate here. What is left up in the air though, is who is stepping into Thor's old role, the Champion. It is one of the few roles still left unfilled, because in the beginning of Cates' run, Thor had been refusing to let it go. He now has, but his successor has not been revealed. I've long maintained it would be Loki. Who is, still, without a new role. With that recap out of the way, on with new speculation, below the cut.
OK. so, it's a little early to say for sure, he may get talked into it the next page or something (though I doubt it cus this is obviously Throg's issue) BUT... pretty sure what we are seeing here is Loki Refusing the Call. Which means it's finally starting, we are at step one, at last. It may seem a bit frustrating and counter intuitive, to have Thor finally doing his damn job, (as an aside i do like that Cates is underlining, in this issue and the last, in Thor's own words, that he has been behaving poorly so far. Cus some people really did not get it, and it's good to know it was deliberate on Cates' part) and delegating tasks to an agent acting in the interests of Asgard, and Loki's just like 'nope.' But Refusing the Call is the first step on most Hero's Journey stories. There are a few reasons for this, to reinforce how difficult the task is, and humanize them, as the article linked above outlines, or maybe they have to see the consequences of inaction, or have something happen that makes it personal, that spurs them into action. Think Luke Skywalker refusing Ben, and then his aunt and uncle are burned alive by Stormtroopers, which covers all the bases. Humanizes him, eliminates his ties, shows the stakes of the Empire's control, and adds a personal investment. Or Spider-Man refusing to stop the thief who then goes on to kill Uncle Ben. So yeah, this is a bit frustrating, but also necessary. It may also result in some tragic consequences from his inaction, though. The refusal doesn't always have a tragic outcome, but it is fairly common, it's kind of a coin flip if this will result in tragedy or not. I hate to think this, but..... Throg may be the new Balder, as a result of the refusal. It's another one of those story beats that's too big to omit, and it's another role that remains unfilled. It is of course a role no one would want, because it is basically a death sentence, but it's too important to leave out of the story. But yeah, though I think in general following the Monomyth is not strictly necessary, and can sometimes be restrictive if you try. (tho it can also work quite well, if the story is suited to it. Lots of books and movies do still use it to good effect. Disney's super big on it, Frozen 1 and 2 are both TEXTBOOK, but especially 2, step aside Star Wars, you could teach a class on it with Frozen 2 alone. Just saying, i don't think it's necessary to tell a good story, in general) But I think that in this particular case, because we are dealing with mythic figures and the shaping of a new mythology, that it would make good sense to follow it quite closely. Especially considering how the Black Winter arc went. (it was the Hero's Journey gone horribly wrong, because Thor answered the call when he should not have) Which means the designated hero has to refuse the call at first, and ideally, that refusal should have consequences. And I suspect that's what we are seeing here. He'll then get spurred into action after events make it clear that he can not refuse, and then, you know, threshold guardian, blah blah. While it makes sense to have the call happen here, I still think the bulk of this would make sense in a relaunched Journey Into Mystery. And yeah, Loki might be refusing because he's the one who took it. Though in that case, you'd think it may benefit him to take the task of 'finding' it and then using that to misdirect everyone. But on the other hand, why take Mjolnir if you have no intention of using it? It's not something that's going to stay secret for long, no matter who took it or why, because sooner or later they're going to use it, it's not useful unless it is used, and it will be obvious when it is. Now, if it was Loki, it's not that hard for him to change his appearance, but still. But also, we do still have that 'lightning that walks' tease from earlier, and the most recent solicit seems to reinforce that, that no one took it at all, Mjolnir is acting autonomously. And acting very, very badly. If that's the case, it may be a case
that Mjolnir has to be 'tamed' once again by the new Champion. We do know already that someone in issue 20 will hold it, on the final page. It's just a question of who, and if that is a good or bad thing. If Loki refused the call to go find it, and it ended up in someone bad's hands, and it hurt or killed someone.... there's your motivation for him to step up. Second thing, I can't decide if Thor is telling the truth or not when he says Loki is the only one he can trust with this. He is either lying to try and convince him to go along with it, or he really does think that, despite everything Loki has ever done, which would be kind of sweet. And I imagine Loki would be equally unsure if Thor really trusts him or not. I think Loki knows damn well he should not be considered trustworthy, due to like, everything. That may be where his worthiness question is rooted. The worthiness thing with Thor came with doubts right? He never really just assumed he was good enough, he always felt he had to try to be good enough, and had doubts of whether he could be. His was more rooted in just general doubts, but Loki's could be more specifically rooted in issues of trust, him wondering if he should be trusted, and trying to be trustworthy. I bet Loki's next dialogue will be something to that effect. Saying he thinks Thor is lying about trusting him, or asking why he thinks that, when other options like Balder, Jane, the Warriors 3, the Avengers, etc exist for this mission. I think Thor may be a bit ashamed to admit that leaving the hammer on Midgard ended up backfiring, and keep how badly it was misbehaving on the down low, which plays into it. Loki already knew it was behaving weird, so in that sense, he can be trusted because Thor doesn't have to reveal as much new stuff to him as he would with some others, since he already knows. But he was blathering on to Jane about it just a couple issues ago, he says here that Sif's looked for it, so... some people do know besides Loki. But he still may be trying to keep the number of people who know as small as possible.
disclaimer, i copy and pasted this from a post i made on CBR. I just thought it would fit here as well, given my previous rambles.

Loki x Fem! Reader
Huge congratulations to @whirlybirbs for hitting 6.5k! I am SO proud of you and I have always been a huge fan of your writing! Keep up the amazing work sweetie! I apologize for procrastinating publishing this, college is literally killing me.
Prompt: “Can you shut up for once in your life?”
Summary: Loki and Reader (a Shield Agent) are on a mission gone awry. Loki, as per usual, tries to talk his way out of things which ultimately fails. Set post-Thor Ragnarok, in which Loki joins the Avengers as part of an agreement for the Avengers to settle in Norway.
Warnings: Language, Weapons
Word Count: 1,369
Loki has always considered himself to be cool and composed, even in the most peril situations. His ability to maintain an outwardly calm appearance amidst some of the most dangerous persons of the galaxy was a trait that he had developed over time, a hardened skill that came from his various ‘adventures’ with his oaf of a brother Thor. Loki was not easily concerned, especially when a God like himself was among mere Midgardians. However, this was not one of those times.
The blaring alarms of the security system of the HYDRA compound rattled through your ears as you sprinted down the end of a hallway. Loki Laufeyson, a now reformed God, was hot on your heels as he checked behind him for any agents that might be following the two of you.
Damn you, Fury, you thought to yourself as you frantically scanned the dark hallways for an exit. Directory Fury had told you that it would be an “easy mission” for the two of you, get in, get the super secret HYDRA files, and get out. But as it would happen, the HYDRA facility was not easy to infiltrate and the overconfident dark-haired God had managed to set off the security system when using the wrong access code to a weapons room.
Fury had failed to inform you that he had instructed Loki on a side mission, to discover the weapons within the facility while you extracted the files from the main computer server. So, you had been in the middle of the transfer of files to your small USB drive when bright red lights flashed in your room and an automated voice echoed throughout the facility, “CODE 3, CODE 3.”
Loki’s annoyed but somewhat worried voice came through your earpiece, “Agent, we may have a small problem.”
Under less stressful circumstances, you may have found the situation humorous. But alas, this was not the case, and you finished the file extraction just as Loki had returned to the room.
His dark raven hair framed his face and fell to his shoulders, his wide emerald eyes scanned the room before finding you. His chest heaved as he breathed heavily. You found yourself subconsciously scanning his appearance for injuries, having come to care for the God, who had proven himself numerous times fighting alongside the Avengers over the past couple of months. You were relieved to find he was uninjured, even if he had just put the both of you in further danger.
Although you could not deny the attraction you felt towards the tall Asgardian, you were certain it would never be reciprocated. He was a God, and you, well you were just a human. A mere "ant" as he had once described it when he had invaded New York years ago. While he had changed to become more of a reformed villain, you were certain that his regard for humans had not.
"Whatever you are doing, I would suggest you hurry." Loki snapped at you as you stared back at him in utter surprise
You glared at him as you pulled the USB from the computer, being sure to select delete on all the files before running away from the computer. "I can't believe you set off the security system. I thought you were supposed to be a God." You hissed as you rushed out the doorway not waiting for Loki. His eyes narrowed in annoyance as he followed after you.
"Midgardian technology is inferior and overly complicated."
And thus, was how you managed to be in the current dilemma the two of you were in. You could feel your heart pounding as the shouts of HYDRA agents echoed off the walls, they were closing in on the two of you. And while you considered Loki to be by far, one of the most dangerous fighters you knew, you were certain the two of you were outnumbered.
As expected it wasn’t long before the two of you were trapped in the middle of a hallway, HYDRA agents surrounded you on both sides. You moved closer to Loki, your back resting against his. His familiar scent of leather and something fresh, perhaps eucalyptus, did little to relax your nerves as you looked at the weapons pointed at you.
However, when in doubt, leave it to the God of Mischief and Lies to try and talk his way out of HYDRA showdown.
“This is all a large misunderstanding, I’m afraid.” You could hear the smile in Loki’s voice, undoubtedly trying to charm his way out of this one.
You kept your handgun trained on one of the agents as Loki continued to try and work his silver-tongue.
“We were just passing through, and are actually lost. But no worries, we will be on our way out now.” Loki moved slightly and you tensed as you heard the click of the safety being taken off on a gun.
“The two of you work for Directory Fury.” An accented voice proclaimed in annoyance.
“We did.” Loki lied, grinning, “But no more.”
“You speak in riddles Laufeyson.” Another man came forward, who you recognized as a central agent to HYDRA, the two of you were so fucked.
“Do I? What if I told you we have come here offering peace, to swear allegiance to HYDRA?” Laufeyson stepped forward towards the agent, walking past you as you stared at Loki completely dumbfounded that he was still trying to talk his way out of this. Your look of surprise caused the God’s lip to twitch in amusement.
“Then I would say you are a good liar, as to be expected from the God of Mischief.” The blonde man stated, and shot a warning shot into the ceiling, “Drop your weapons, the both of you, or the next one will be in your chest.”
“You drive a hard bargain” Loki grinned, then, in an act that stunned even you, he dropped his daggers that he held in his hands. He turned to look at you, nodding, hoping you would follow. While the Asgardian could likely survive bullets, you were a risk he was not willing to take. Not after he had come to admire you, the spirited and beautiful female SHIELD agent unwilling to back down from a challenge. He liked you, and while he was a God, a being well-above humans, he couldn’t help but feel the need to protect you.
“Are you kidding me?” You asked in disbelief.
“Trust me, Y/N” Loki assured you and realizing you had no other options, you laid down your gun.
This is such a bad idea.
Which is how you found yourself tied up to a chair, your back to Loki, who was in the same predicament from what you could tell. You wished you were facing him, that way you could remind him to his face about what a massive idiot he was. Before you could grumble some more on the complete failure of the mission, there was a loud explosion in the room, and debris from the building went everywhere. In came the Avengers to the rescue in typical Avengers fashion, guns blazing.
“Loki!” Thor’s voice boomed in excitement, untying his brother first much to your dismay, before going off to handle other HYDRA henchmen. You wiggled slightly in your chair, trying to get a view of the action occurring behind you, when elegant fingers gently grasped your shoulder, keeping you from tipping your chair over in excitement.
“I told you could trust me.” Loki whispered in your ear, causing a shiver to shoot up your spine, as you turned to glare at him as he helped untie your binds. His hands deftly navigating the knots.
“Can you shut up for once in your life?” You snapped at Loki who paused from where he knelt at your feet, his beautiful emerald eyes watching you in slight admiration and perhaps interest? The Asgardian sent a charming dimpled smile up at you in reply that caused your heart to flutter and a small blush to warm your cheeks as you willed yourself to not look away. Loki thought it was cute.
“You do realize you are talking to the God of Mischief, remember?”

author’s note: since I’ve done this for Loki a billion times and/or this information is on Loki’s dossier, I’ll be doing this for a side muse, in this case, Fandral!
Tumblr media
𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐬
FULL NAME. Fandral Bjarteson NICKNAME. Fan GENDER. Male HEIGHT.  6′5″ AGE.  Right around 1,200 Asgardian years old, though in human years, he would be much older ZODIAC.  Gemini SPOKEN LANGUAGES.  All-tongue ( a magical language that translates so anyone who hears or reads it can understand it in their native tongue ). However, Fandral has also learned other languages from various realms including native tongues of the Old Gods, modern Midgardian English, and several others
𝐩𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬
HAIR COLOR. Blond EYE COLOR.  Bright blue SKIN TONE. Fair but with a nice, sun-kissed glow BODY TYPE.  Lean-yet-muscular  VOICE. Baritone DOMINANT HAND. Right-handed, but is very capable with both his right and left hand POSTURE. Fandral carries himself with an air of flamboyant properness. He’s never too stiff, but he does maintain proper posture unless casually relaxing or trying to appeal to a few lovely individuals. SCARS. Fandral has a fair few, especially around his hands and arms due to battle. However, Fandral, like most Aesir, heal exponentially well. He has access to some very talented healers as well, so many of his injuries don’t have a chance to scar over. One of the most noticeable, though is definitely on his shoulder, from where he was impaled through by a Jotun’s ice attack on Jotunheim. You know, the raid on Jotunheim that Thor thought would be such a good idea? The raid that almost got all of them, especially Fandral, almost killed? That’s also the scar Fandral’s the most self-conscious about and will actively attempt to keep hidden if possible. TATTOOS. As of right now, Fandral doesn’t have any tattoos BIRTHMARKS. none MOST NOTICEABLE FEATURE(S). His... general handsome-ness? Fandral is considered exceptionally beautiful, even by Aesir standards. He’s the type of person who draws in the attention of just about everyone and they’re probably mad at themselves for liking him at all.
𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐝
PLACE OF BIRTH. Asgard HOMETOWN. Idavoll, a small farming community in Asgard SIBLINGS. None. Most Aesir families only have one or two children despite their very long lifespans and Fandral never had the joy of having a sibling.  PARENTS.  Bjarte (father) ;; Gyda (mother)
𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞
OCCUPATION.  Warrior, companion of the princes ( I mean, it’s not a job, but it should be ), and agent of Sigurd ( Odin’s adviser and the head of a spy network spanning most known realms ) CURRENT RESIDENCE. Gladsheim, Asgard’s capital CLOSE FRIENDS. Loki, Heimdall, Thor, Hogun & Volstagg ( gotta shout out the other two that make up the Warriors Three! ) and Sif, sometimes, when she’s not being mean to him. Fandral is also rather close to some of Loki’s good friends, though those relationships tend to be more private and personal. RELATIONSHIP STATUS. Verse dependent FINANCIAL STATUS. Fandral is a special case. He’s the son of a farmer. He owns no property himself, has no real money ( yes, there is wealth to be had in his family’s business, but nothing in comparison to the people he spends time with ), and in actuality, is not all that wealthy. Due to his various positions, talent, and companionship, though, Fandral has made quite the name for himself and, to follow, a very luxurious lifestyle.  DRIVER’S LICENSE. No, why would he need that? CRIMINAL RECORD. Fandral’s committed treason a few times, but he’s never been openly punished for a crime. VICES. Flirting too much ( and often with the wrong person! ), being caught in the middle of friendships because he cares deeply for people who do not care for one another, not presenting his most genuine self, stretching the truth and/or straight-up lying to maintain a certain appearance, getting too attached when he knows he shouldn’t.
𝐬𝐞𝐱 & 𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞
SEXUAL ORIENTATION.  Pansexual--bottom line is, if Fandral finds you attractive and you find Fandral attractive, he’ll definitely sleep with you. PREFERRED EMOTIONAL ROLE. submissive | dominant | switch PREFERRED SEXUAL ROLE. submissive | dominant | switch -- Fandral leans dominant but with certain partners? You’d never guess that ( looking at you @bifrostgold looking at you ) LIBIDO. High... Higher than it needs to be. TURN ON’S.  Uh? Fandral’s kind of made a reputation for himself of sleeping around frequently and often bedding one or numerous partners regularly. Fandral has a long list of turn-ons that’ll get the job done, but the things that stick out the most for meaningful connection that goes deeper than sex is genuineness. If someone is honest, open, and understanding, that’s what takes Fandral’s attraction from purely sexual to “damn, I might want to stay with this person.” TURN OFF’S. General poor behavior, spiteful tendencies, general attitudes that bring down moods or are designed to make him or someone else feel bad LOVE LANGUAGE.  Random acts of kindness that are customized to the individual’s likes, desires, and needs, things that are not asked for and not expected, but Fandral goes out of his way to do them anyway. RELATIONSHIP TENDENCIES.  In all truth, Fandral is not an expert at relationships. In fact, sex is more his area of expertise while actual romance has not happened much for him. In committed relationships, he often second-guesses himself in regards to if he’s enough for his partner. Is his just a pretty face or does he provide his partner with what they need? Does he do enough? Are they annoyed because he’s doing too much? Is he being genuine with them or is he still hiding behind that Dashing persona he presents to the rest of the world? Fandral is a very caring and nurturing person and will often take on the role of caring for his partner straight away, but he fears being overbearing or clingy because he’s really not used to longterm relationships.
𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐨𝐮𝐬
CHARACTER’S THEME SONG. Underdog by Imagine Dragons HOBBIES TO PASS TIME.  Swordwork, studying various religions, cultures, and other subjects one would not expect Fandral to care about, showing off for an appreciative audience ( literally, Fandral will do this in front of just about everyone with any skill he possesses. He loves peacocking, honestly ), reading, general exploration, shopping, crafting LEFT OR RIGHT BRAINED.  Fandral is a pretty even blend of both right and left-brained, though I would say he leans a little more to the left in the realms of analytical thinking. You’d never guess by looking at him, but it’s true. PHOBIAS. Failing those he cares about. While Fandral has loads of self-confidence, there is still part of him that knows he’s just the son of a farmer and was never destined for greatness. A lot of weight sits on his shoulders to deliver and make the people he loves proud and he is constantly afraid of failing, of not being enough. SELF CONFIDENCE LEVEL. High, though as mentioned above, Fandral does have his fears and self-doubt, he just doesn’t air them openly. VULNERABILITIES. Protecting his true nature from the personality he presents to the world, his mother, his mentor, buying into his own flamboyant cockiness from time-to-time, getting too attached.

She said, ‘Never forget me’.......as if the coast could forget the ocean, or the lung forget the breath, or the earth could forget the sun. ~ Beau Taplin // A Reminder
She was the last person Tony had ever suspected of being a thief. It had been two years since he had spoken with her and heard her voice.
Y/N had left the country on what was supposed to be a business trip. It was not until she was completely out of the country, that the authorities discovered what she had done.
The American government had tasked SHIELD with the mission of finding her and bringing her back. Tony had been reluctant at first, not wanting believe that his little girl was responsible for the theft of classified documents from the National Archives. When he had learnt however, who these documents concerned, he had all the proof he needed.
For two years he and his team mates had chased her across Europe. She had evaded them at every turn, outsmarting them at every opportunity. Even Nat and Clint had a hard time keeping track of her. Y/N’s extensive knowledge of information retrieval made it hard for the Avengers to prevent her from gaining access to the various institutions that had become her targets.
London was the last place they had seen her. Their British contact had seen her, her Y/F/C hair making it easy for anyone to spot and pinpoint her. Nat had tailed her but she soon gave them the slip and disappeared, taking the stolen information with her.
Fury had ordered Tony to stay behind, believing him to be too emotionally involved. He had waited with baited breath as Nat’s steady reports came in over her com. Then came the words that Tony and Fury had been dreading. “I’ve lost her.”
She had gone dark, off the grid. Y/N had made it near impossible for them to track her. Since her disappearance from London, the Avengers had received no further reports of her location. It was not until a pattern was discovered by a SHIELD analyst that they were able to predict where she would go next.
Siberia.
The information and artifacts she had stolen all spoke of a legendary stone with ability to allow its bearer to travel to different worlds. While some argued that they should lie in wait for her, others believed that if she could not find the stone, then she would eventually give up and return to America of her own will.
Tony, who had no desire to arrest his own daughter, voted on the second option.

“Sometimes memories are the worst forms of torture.”
If he was surprised that Thor had come to visit him, Loki showed no outward sign. Standing up, he smiled nastily at his brother. “How kind of you to come. Are the realms at peace now that the mighty Thor has vanquished their enemies?”
Thor moved closer until only the barrier of the cell stood between them. “I spoke with Mother,” he continued, ignoring the jibe.
“Did you just.”
“She is worried about you.”
Picking up a nearby book, Loki pretended to read it. “She is? How very touching.”
“You know she is,” Thor spoke, his tone gentle. Taking a deep breath, he looked down at his hands before lifting his gaze to meet his brother’s. “I did not just come to speak of our mother, but also to offer my condolences.”
Loki did not answer right away. When he did, his voice was dangerously calm. “I would thank you if I knew why you offered them.”
“Do not play games with me, brother.” Thor could clearly see that something had shifted in his brother, despite the facade he had constructed.
Loki turned away from the older Prince. He clenched his hands into tight fists in order to to maintain his control over his emotions. “I have no need for such useless sentiments.”
“I do wonder,” Thor spoke after a few moments of silence. “How it is possible for you to remain so calm, even after the worst experience has befallen you?”
“What other choice do I have?” Loki challenged, turning to face him.
“The woman you love is dead,” Thor hated himself for the brief flicker of pain that flittered over his brother’s features. “And here you are, calm and collected as though nothing of importance has happened.”
“What do you suggest I do?”
Thor ground his teeth in frustration. Why was he acting so damn unaffected ?
“Lashing out in anger would hardly aid my cause,” Loki pointed out. “She was a mortal, Thor. It was only a matter of time.”
“Would you listen to yourself!” Thor could hardly believe what he was hearing. “If she meant so little to you, as you claim she did-”
“Do not presume to put words into my mouth,” Loki snapped, cutting him off. His upper lip curled in the first show of emotion Thor had witnessed since his arrival. “Do not presume to offer me comfort when you know nothing of the pain.”
Thor said nothing. What could he possibly say? His brother was right, words of comfort would have no effect on him, they were useless.

“This is not how I pictured my first trip to the Swiss Alps.”
“Really?” Nikolas shot his cousin a sideways glance, “I am truly shocked.”
“Ha ha,” Y/N unbuckled her safety harness and stood to walk to the back of the helicopter where she proceeded to strap a parachute to her body. “Very funny.”
“I still think the plane would have been better,” her cousin spoke from the cockpit.
“You know,” Y/N replied, moving back to the front and sitting back down. “If you keep saying that, I might just pull you out with me.”
“Then we would crash and boom, there goes the element of surprise.”
Y/N smirked, “boom indeed.”
“Honestly,” Nikolas rolled his eyes and attempted to glare at her. His expression softened, “are you sure you’re up for this ? I know you never liked heights much.”
Y/N took a deep breath and smiled at him. “My fears are of little consequence. I made a promise and what kind of person would I be if I broke it ?”
“This isn’t just about the promise though is it?”
Looking down at her hands, Y/N shook her head.
“You really love him then?”
Meeting her cousin’s blue gaze, she took a shuddering breath and nodded. “Yes.”
“Well, then,” Nikolas nudged her shoulder. “Lets hope everything goes smoothly.”
“Yeah,” she whispered and fixed her eyes straight ahead, “I hope so too.”
Silence hung between them for the remainder of the flight. It wasn’t until the distinct shapes of the mountains came into view, that Y/N stood up and moved to door of the aircraft.
“We’re almost at the drop zone,” Nikolas reported and glanced over his shoulder. “You ready?”
Y/N made to reply when a fit of coughing racked her entire frame.
“Y/N?” Nickolas made to come to her when she waved him away.
“I’m alright,” she wheezed out and held a hand to her chest where a stabbing pain bloomed. “Just the nerves I suppose.”
Despite remaining unconvinced, Nikolas nodded. “If you’re all set?”
Y/N nodded and slid a pair of goggles over her eyes. Sliding the door open, she took a series of deep breaths to try and calm herself. “Here goes,” she murmured to herself and all but fell out of the aircraft.
The rush of the cold mountain air helped to distract Y/N from paying too much attention to the fact that she was falling rather rapidly towards the ground. Only when she pulled the parachute did she relax.
Landing somewhat smoothly in a clearing, she untangled herself from the parachute and activated her earpiece. “Nikolas? Can you hear me?”
“Still alive I see?” Came her cousin’s relieved tone.
“Alive and kicking,” Y/N replied, smirking. “I told you this would work.”
“Hang on,” he protested, “you haven’t even gone in yet.”
“Such faith, dear cousin,” Y/N shot back, her eyes sparkling with excitement. “You remember where to go I assume?”
“Please, I’ve been in this business longer than you.”
“Whatever you say,” she replied, “I’m going in.” Looking around, she began the short climb to the walls of SHIELD’s European base of Operations.
~ ~ ~
Not entirely convinced that his daughter would simply give up, Tony had elected to stay at the base in case she got it into her head to try and steal the stone.
If the past two years had taught him anything, it was that Y/N was not to be underestimated in the lengths she would go to.
Standing in front of the case that housed the stone, Tony sighed heavily, never would he have pictured his life to turn out this way. His precious daughter as a fugitive and thief was something the still sounded alien and wrong.
It was a beautiful stone to be sure, that much he would acknowledge. It was as though someone had trapped a sunset inside it. Under no circumstances could he let her get her hands on it.
~ ~ ~
Y/N was more than a bit suspicious of how easy it had been to get in. Not stopping to think why, she slipped into one of the numerous hallways and walked as silently as she could, relying heavily on her memory of the base’s layout.
The stone, if it was there, would be housed in the most secure part of the building.
Making doubly sure to avoid the cameras that decorated the walls, Y/N crept through the building like a shadow.
The sound of approaching footsteps had Y/N press herself against the wall and stop breathing, even though the stabbing pain in her chest continued to increase.
“What do you think Tony’ll do if she comes?” Natasha asked, rounding the corner. Y/N’s eyes widened, her father was here?!
“I hope he doesn’t hesitate, whatever he decides to do,” Clint replied.
Y/N waited until the two agents were completely out of sight before letting out the breath she’d been holding. She berated herself for not having prepared for this eventuality. She perked up however, if her father was here, that meant the stone was too.
With renewed energy, she headed in the direction the two agents had come from. She hoped and prayed that she wouldn’t encounter her father, she had no idea how he would react. She was a criminal after all.
It wasn’t long until a heavily guarded door came into view. Swearing under her breath, Y/N ducked into a nearby alcove, hoping that the guards hadn’t seen her.
Running her hands down her legs, she pulled out a pair of throwing knives. Nikolas had insisted that she at least go minimally armed, in case anything should happen.
Praying that her aim should prove accurate, Y/N spun out of the alcove and threw the blades. They sliced through the air and hit their mark.
Trying not to focus on the fact that she had just taken two lives, Y/N hesitantly approached one and nudged him with her foot. When no response came, she sighed with morbid relief.
Retrieving her knives, she quickly wiped them clean on her pants before approaching the door. Not wasting any time, she pulled out the device Nikolas had given her and placed it on the door. Numbers flickered across the screen until a combination was reached.
Looking over her shoulder, Y/N scanned the hallway before pushing the door open and stepping through.
~ ~ ~
Hearing the door open and then close, Tony turned around. The person that stood before him was both the first and last person he wanted to see.
“Y/N?”
Her e/c eyes didn’t seem to register his presence. They were locked onto the case behind him. “Finally,” she murmured and stepped around him.
Y/N knew full well that her father was there. She also knew that she had precious little time. The stone gleamed before her. It’s warm golden glow reflected on her features. Reaching out, her fingers brushed the cool glass.
“I can’t let you take that.”
Y/N briefly closed her eyes before turning to face him. “That’s too bad. I made a promise and I have every intention of keeping it.”
“A promise to a criminal is one that you have no obligation to keep.”
Y/N stared at her father. “How can you say such a thing? A promise is a promise, regardless to who it is made.”
“He is dangerous, Y/N. You above everyone would know this.”
Y/N nodded. “You’re right, I do know and I love him despite it.”
“I can’t let you do this,” Tony continued as she moved closer to the case.
Turning away from him, Y/N faced the glass and clenched her right hand into a fist before slamming it through the case. The glass sliced at her knuckles but she didn’t care. Her slender fingers curled around the stone and drew it to her. “You thought to steal my chance at happiness. You and those people you call friends.” Turning to face him, she continued, “I will make each and everyone of you pay for that.”
The moment she had smashed the glass, alarms had sounded. Panic coursed through her but she refused to show it. “You made me lose my love once, now you will lose yours a thousand times over.” Her voice was dangerously calm.
Shocked into silence, Tony stared at her. What had happened to his sweet girl? His Y/N? What being had possessed her?
Taking advantage of his stunned state, she sprinted from the room. Clutching the stone to her chest, Y/N ran.
The sound of the alarms seemed to follow her. The hallways all looked the same as she struggled to remember the way out. The heavy sound of running feet soon reached her ears and her panic increased. Touching her earpiece, Y/N activated it and tried to keep her voice calm as she addressed her cousin. “Nikolas? Nikolas? You there?”
“That was quick,” his surprised voice filtered through the com. “Was it there? The stone ?”
“Yes,” she answered quickly as her pursuers gained ground. “I have it with me. I need you to get me out. Now.”
“Something happened didn’t it?”
Y/N sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose before answering. “My father was there and I may have said some horrible things to him.”
“Well, did you?”
She bit her lip before answering and looked over her shoulder. “I kind of threatened him.”
“You WHAT?”
“I wasn’t thinking, alright!” She protested and ducked around the next corner when she heard them getting closer. “We can talk about this in greater detail later, but right now, I need you to get me out.”
She heard him sigh heavily before replying. “Alright, as we planned.”
“Agreed.” Taking one more breath despite the pain in her chest and hand, Y/N ran as fast and as quietly as she could.
Finally the route began to look familiar, this alone helped to spur her on. Skidding to a halt just before an emergency exit, she pushed the door open with her good hand and was greeted with a rush of cold mountain air.
“Y/N.”
Freezing at the sound of her name, she slowly turned around and faced her father, who in turn was flanked by Agents Barton and Romanoff.
“Dad,” she acknowledged and unconsciously held the stone closer.
“Give us the stone,” Clint stepped forward and held out a hand.
Curling her upper lip, Y/N shook her head. “I would sooner cut off my right hand than give this to you.”
“Come now,” Tony stepped in. “There is no need for that. Y/N, sweetie, please. I know the promise you made, we were all there.”
“Then let me keep it,” she pleaded, “let me be happy.”
“He will not make you happy,” Natasha tried to reason with her.
Y/N turned her attention to the young Russian. “Who are you to say such a thing? How do you know that ? Hmmm? Who are you to say who and who won’t make me happy?” She then turned to other two. “Who are any of you to determine that? You all hate him! Especially you,” she pointed a bloody finger at Clint.
She opened her mouth to continue when her cousin’s voice sounded in her ear. “Whenever you’re ready, cuz.”
Sure enough, the cold rush of wind that accompanied the arrival of a helicopter blew the few stray strands of Y/F/C hair loose of the braid she had put it in. Turning around, Y/N saw the craft only a short distance away. Her cousin was beckoning her.
Not even sparing a glance for those behind her, Y/N ran and leapt on board, one of Barton’s arrows skimming the air just below her leg. Slamming the door shut, she climbed into the cockpit beside her cousin.
Nikolas’s keen eyes soon landed on her injured hand that still clutched the stone. “What on earth happened to your hand?”
“Later,” was all she managed to gasp out. Her chest heaving with the effort to breathe normally.
“Brilliant,” she heard Nikolas mutter in a worried tone, one hand resting gently on her heated forehead.

Looking Back on Loki - Part 1
Tumblr media
Well, it's been a little over a week since the premiere of The Avengers: Infinity War, and like many fans, I'm still reeling from the film and pondering what to expect in its sequel. I feel like enough time has passed that most people who wanted to see the movie already have, so a spoiler warning might not be needed, but to be safe, here's mine:
SPOILER ALERT!!
THE ESSAY YOU'RE ABOUT TO READ WILL GIVE AWAY THE BEGINNING OF
INFINITY WAR
.
YES. THIS MOVIE IS SUCH A COLOSSALLY EPIC ENDGAME THAT EVEN THE BEGINNING CAN BE RUINED.
--
With that said, I want to talk again about my favorite character, Loki. He's one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's oldest, most pivotal, and most popular figures, as well as one of its most compelling villains. That's why it came as a huge shock to a lot of viewers, including myself, when the villain Thanos abruptly killed him in the opening scene of Infinity War. It's probably one of the top three saddest deaths in the whole film, which is no small feat, so I'm writing this two-part essay as an in-memorium of sorts. It's a film-by-film look back on Loki's story arc throughout the series that hopefully does justice in showing what a terrific character he was.
We have five movies to discuss, so in the words of the late God of Mischief, "Send the rest."
Thor (2011)
According to screenwriter Zack Stentz, Marvel Studios gave the writers of the first Thor film a very specific instruction: "Give us a villain as good as Magneto." Magneto was the villain of the original X-Men film trilogy, and his goal was to wipe out humanity so that his people, the mutants, could inherit the Earth. This didn't stem just from a feeling of superiority over humans, but also from the horrors he endured as a child in a Nazi concentration camp. Magneto's goal was to protect his new people from those who distrusted them, which he couldn't do during the Holocaust, and the hate that drove him to pursue this goal turned him into the same monster that he was trying to defeat. He was a villain who thought he was the hero, and no one could tell him otherwise.
Tumblr media
With this in mind, the writers of Thor gave us Loki. As Thor's jealous, overlooked younger brother, his goal was to lie, scheme, and manipulate in order to keep the God of Thunder from becoming King of Asgard. This type of villain may have seemed like a tired trope at first, but the writers knew how to make him more engaging as the story unfolded.
Hence, we got a scene where Loki discovered that he wasn't Thor's brother at all; he was the abandoned son of the Frost Giant Laufey, Asgard's enemy, and Thor's father Odin took him in as a baby and turned him into an Asgardian to raise him. What's more, when Loki confronted Odin about this, we learned that his adoption wasn't strictly an act of kindness. Odin also wanted to raise Laufey's son on Asgard as a way to eventually bring peace between their races. It just happened to involve lying to Loki about who and what he was for most of his life while always showing him less favor than Thor for reasons he couldn't understand.
Tumblr media
If I had to pinpoint the exact moment when the whole Loki fan train started, it would probably be that scene. His tragic backstory was the kind that the protagonist usually had in a superhero film, not the antagonist, and Odin's flimsy explanation for keeping it a secret really made viewers side with Loki in that moment. And that's the core of what won us over. We could side with Loki. Unlike with Magneto, who was always pitted against people with a clear moral high ground, we were made to see Loki's view of everything very early on and could genuinely believe he was in the right.
Thor would make a terrible king. He was a complete loose canon who almost got Asgard into a full-scale war with the Frost Giants, and Loki getting him banished to Earth was probably the safest way to keep things from escalating. Loki didn't even really want to be king in Thor's place. He just didn't want the only home he'd ever known to be placed in the hands of an idiot.
It wasn't until much later in the film, after he'd learned the truth about himself, that we learned Loki's new goal. Along with wanting to protect Asgard, he now wanted to have Thor killed on Earth and impress Odin by wiping out the Frost Giants. He wanted to set up a crisis that would prompt Asgard to end their truce with Laufey, and with Thor gone, he would be the one to defeat their enemy. He would be the hero that everyone in Asgard admired.
Tumblr media
If this had been Loki's goal from the start, we might have felt differently about him, but we saw what made him snap and decide to do this. That gave us hope that he could be reasoned with and brought back to his senses before going through with his plan. In the end though, he couldn't be reasoned with, and after Thor saved the day and Loki saw Odin's disappointment in him, he abandoned his home and sent himself hurtling into a black hole in space to his supposed death. Everything he had ever known was a lie and he saw no way to salvage it, so in a moment of weakness, he gave up.
The Avengers (2012)
Released one year after Thor, The Avengers was one of the biggest movies of the 2010's. Not only had it been hyped up for four years with a string of prelude films, but it ended up being every bit the action-packed, crowd-pleasing popcorn blockbuster that it had promised to be. It's made Marvel Studios pretty much the king of the box office to this day, and since Loki came back as the villain in The Avengers, he was bound to leave way more of an impact on viewers this time around.
Tumblr media
And of course, he did. I would daresay he even gained a bigger overall fanbase than any of the heroes after this movie. It's easy to see why too; he was working towards a different goal from all the other characters, so he stood out, and since he had an underdog backstory, you still kind of rooted for him. Also, it was entertaining as hell to watch him try and maintain his dignity throughout his increasingly hilarious defeats. Loki had the same insecurities and emotional conflict as before, but instead of being depressed about his shortcomings, he was trying to stay confident and enthusiastic. You kind of had to admire that.
This wasn't to say though that Loki was totally eager to conquer the Earth in The Avengers. One of the human characters, Agent Coulson, even observed that the God of Mischief didn't have enough conviction in what he was doing for him to succeed. I didn't read many fan theories at the time, but my understanding was that Thanos found Loki floating in space after Thor, recruited him, offered him the chance to prove himself by stealing the Tesseract from Earth, and Loki took that offer in exchange for being allowed to rule Earth afterwards. He made this deal somewhat impulsively; he was still angry at Thor, so taking over the planet that his brother had grown to love sounded like the perfect revenge at the time. Loki soon realized that he was in over his head with Thanos, but it was too late to back out of the deal by then. We even got a scene in The Avengers where Loki was told that Thanos would torture him beyond imagination if he failed to complete his mission.
Tumblr media
If Loki wanted to survive, he would have to reinvent himself and fully embrace his conquest of Earth—the "glorious purpose" that he was now burdened with. This seemed to work at first, so much that his mission even delighted him at times, but then Thor came to stop him. That was what stirred up Loki's conflicted feelings again and made him start to lose momentum. Thor wasn't just ordering him to give up his mission, he was offering to bring him home and help him pick up the pieces of his old life. It was extremely tempting, but since Loki still yearned for respect and feared punishment from Thanos, he did whatever he could to remove that temptation. That was why he tried to kill Thor in the middle of the film and then stabbed him during the climax when Thor was starting to get through to him. He didn't have the conviction to win those arguments otherwise.
Not that any of it paid off in the end. The Avengers defeated Loki's invasion army, the Hulk wiped the floor with him, and Thor took both his brother and the Tesseract to Asgard to be locked up forever. This was actually where Loki's story arc in the films was supposed to end, but once Marvel saw how much the fans loved him, they knew they had struck gold with this character. They had a villain who was better than Magneto now, at least from a marketing standpoint. They had a charming, mysterious, and sympathetic villain who added genuine dramatic weight to Thor's storyline even at the silliest of times. If they wanted to keep making successful Thor movies, then they had to keep Loki around.

Prompt from @ourladybinxthings: Fight Me, Loki & agent.
Leave a “FIGHT ME” in my ask, and I will write a drabble out one character fighting with/or against another.
Characters/ story: Loki & agent, WISH [oh yea, I created a WISH series compilation page! When did I do that?...]
I know it’s been awhile since we’ve seen Loki & his agent. I definitely used the excuse of wanting to see where the next Thor went before getting anything written beyond where we left them in A Dream & A Wish. Of course that turned into not really knowing what to do with them cause I wrote us in one direction and Ragnarok took us in another. [And we’ll not even get into what happened in IW.] Writers block or simple refusal to rewrite what I’d plotted out, take your pick. Why am I saying all this? Cause I have 10,000+ words already written for the next installment and still haven’t gotten all the good bits in there, yet.
Anyway, here’s a bit from the upcoming installment in the series, A Wish Too Far, with Loki and our agent doing one of the things they do best. Fight.
Tumblr media
“Sit. Rest.”
The first he’s spoken in however-the-fuck-long-it’s-been and it’s the same damn thing he said when he rushed you aboard. A curt command he clearly expects to be obeyed.
Yea. Uh-huh. Right. Shame you’re not in the mood to do any such thing.
“No. Tell me where we’re going.”
Maybe if you inch forward to position yourself better in his eyeline, maybe then he’ll be tempted to glance aside and engage with you again. Two words does not a conversation make.
He frowns even as he attempts the request again, still notably not looking in your direction. “It would help. If you would sit. And. Rest.”
That’s so not an answer. It may be a slight improvement from before, but still not going to fly with you. You do your best to keep from accidentally getting too close to the console, which proves a challenge for the turbulence you’re currently enduring. Is this turbulence, or evasive maneuvers to keep from being detected, or just him being an asshole?
Make it look easier on you than it is. Fake it, because it doesn’t seem to be bothering him in the slightest. It’s just like riding a skateboard, or a very very very tiny version of the helicarrier you used to call home. You flinch at the thought, of the home – and people – you haven’t seen in so long. Not that that was by choice. Mostly. Overlooking the fact that it was you that did the uncovering of the disc and you that touched it, sending you off to hell.
But only this man, this asshole, only Loki cared to come looking. Only he cared enough to get you the hell out of hell.
What had SHIELD done?
It doesn’t appear that he’s relying too heavily on his left hand for navigation so you reach out and touch his forearm. Maybe the contact will get his attention. Just a moment, one moment where he will look somewhere other than straight ahead. And maybe that cold mask will slip and allow a familiar face to show beneath? Where had the man gone that had kissed you before promising to take you away, to take you elsewhere? “Loki…”
His eyes dart from the landscape down to your hand resting on his arm. Something about its sharpness makes you jump to sever the point of contact again. Maybe that was too much to hope for. Suddenly you’re missing the warmth of the golden light of the medical chamber within the palace, or – even more than that – the warmth of something you had taken for granted until the day you were removed from its influence: the Earth’s sun.
You wrap your arms around your torso again, applying pressure to your side to amplify the dulled tenderness where the asshole currently too occupied with flying the ship to talk to you very recently stabbed you. If he wants only sharp edges then, fine. He’ll get what he gives. “It hurts more to sit than it does to stand.”
“You’re feeling pain.” A ripple of concern passes over his features, finally something that pulls his attention away from navigation for a few seconds.
You rush to reply while you have his focus, “Starting to. But don’t magic it away. I need it.”
He gives you a quick visual appraisal, even if he doesn’t fully turn to complete it. His deep scowl returns as he shifts his attention fully forward again. “We moved you too soon. I’d suggest laying down, or will you argue against that, too?”
Now he’s angry that you don’t want him to use his particular skillset to help you? Where does he get off acting so damned superior? And damn it, is he purposefully jostling the pair of you in an attempt to get his way? You narrow your eyes at him, “Suggest? Or demand?”
But the comment comes too late. His focus is gone, back to the terrain ahead, the mask returned to his features. A pause passes, long enough for you to wonder if he’s going to bother replying at all.
When his response comes it is spoken through his teeth, his jaw clenched, his eyes presumably locked on the landmarks he needs to find to get the pair of you where you’re going. Wherever that it. “How are we supposed to get safely away if you don’t obey? If you don’t rest?”
Obey? “Obey?”
Maybe his prolonged silence this whole time is rooted to his regret over bringing you along. Because you don’t listen, ever. He might have cared enough at the time to rescue you from that hellhole but now that he’s had time to weigh his options it seems he’s starting to rethink his actions.
Fuck you too, then, asshole. Maybe he should just stop and let you off, then. Thor will find you quickly enough with the aid of Heimdall, or the palace guards. Someone will pick you up and then you’ll be taken back to Earth, just like Thor said, back to face those that left you to die in hell. It’ll be a blast. You’ll answer any and every question they have regarding the research you squirreled away, and if you’re lucky enough to keep out of a deep dark hole of their making maybe you’ll get to figure out what’s next for an ex-agent of SHIELD.
You almost do it. You almost open your mouth again and suggest the very thing burning through your brain at the moment, but concern that he might actually do it keeps you quiet. Would he? Toss you out? Drop you off somewhere and then be gone? After everything?
He is, at least, still saying we. And in a way he’s still expressing concern over the wounds that he, in point of fact, inflicted.
You’ll argue a bit longer before giving in just to save face. Reroute that fire and try to subdue the throbbing in your side that you were yearning to feel just a little while ago. Why were you so intent on feeling pain, again? Hopefully the act of being contrary isn’t going to make you pass out. You just want to know what the plan is, see where it is that he’s taking you. “Maybe if you tried asking instead of telling.”
To your surprise Loki slowly exhales and begins again, his voice steadier. “Will you go and----” you cut him off, interjecting the word NO before he can finish his sentence. He utters the final word in a stumbling half to his request, “rest.”
His shoulders jerk and he swivels his head to argue further, but you’re quicker with your reply. “I said you could try asking. I didn’t say I’d listen.” It could all be in your head, but it seems like it’s getting harder to maintain your balance. The pain in your side is getting worse very quickly. Have you torn something and the strength of that is finally breaking through whatever the Asgardian medics did to numb you? Damn the turbulence. Damn him apparently being right, that you started moving too soon after being tended to. Damn him! “Ask again. And this time say please.”
He does have manners. He’s royalty for fuck’s sake. They’re in there, somewhere.
He rolls his eyes, once again gritting his teeth as he deliberately maintains his hold on his temper. “We’ve discussed the way you speak to me.”
Yep. So he really shouldn’t be surprised by your tone. You keep your head held high, determined not to back down.
“I’ll ask once more.” Loki risks more time from his task of steering the ship to pointedly fix his blazing eyes on yours. “Keep in mind you won’t enjoy being forced.”
Forced.
Right.
Just because you think he might have removed his influence already doesn’t mean he actually has. Or – a worse thought follows – he could be tempted to make it worse.
You swallow, which was apparently the effect he was hoping his words would have, or else he notices the strain you’re trying to hide in order to remain standing close by. His frown eases, and he emphasizes the very next word uttered. “Please. Rest.”
Nodding, you turn your back on him, the stranger’s cloak draped over your shoulders turning the small motion into something with more flourish than it deserves. For the record you’re keeping internally it isn’t because you’re beginning to obey him. No, you just need to let the what-you-assume-to-be-a-siting-area do the work of supporting you rather than your feet.
He speaks again, his voice softer. He isn’t quite gloating, but only just. “I’ll have us settled by the time you wake.”
Is that a promise?
“Where?” You question, not bothering you glance back over your shoulder.
He doesn’t answer.
It’s in your head. It’s all in your head, and you know it, but the moment you come into contact with the seat the lightheadedness returns. It’s the vibrations of the ship that pulse through you, stronger than merely standing. Yes, you’re sure that’s what is doing it. Leaning forward helps a little with your head, though it has the opposite effect on your side. You grit your teeth, not quite willing to lay all the way down, not quite sure what the result will be when you close your eyes and attempt to rest.
Pride keeps you from asking Loki for help in forcing you to sleep. Developing a dependency on magic is something that gives you chills. Or maybe that’s the pain in your side. But no. The point is no. You refuse rely on him, or his magic, to help you through this. This is something you must face on your own.
Begrudgingly, you recline. Slowly doesn’t mean you experience less pain, but you’re not entirely sure you could manage to quickly swivel to lay on your back. You mutter at his back, because that’s all he’s affording you at the moment. “You’ll owe me answers, when we’re there.”
That one at least nets you a grunt. Maybe. Unless that was a low-pitched noise emanating from the hull of the ship.

QuickTypes: Marvel Cinematic Universe (Part 1/Phase 1):
Note: Those who have already been typed on the site, I’ll put a link to the main typing. I wanted to make a little master-guide to the whole thing, both characters who are already typed and QuickTypes for those who aren’t.

James “Rhodey” Rhodes/War Machine: ESFJ
Tumblr media
Rhodey is highly concerned with public image, playing by the rules, and working within the system to make the world a better place (Fe/Si). He tends to be very upfront with his feelings and perceptive into those of other people. He’s not the kind of ESFJ who blindly offers affirmation to others; rather he’s the kind who just tells people what they need to feel (”What you need is time to get your mind straight.”) He wants to keep his dignity and tries to act cool, but often gets undermined in this (usually by Tony). He tends to be very cautious and avoids undue risks.
Obadiah Stane/Iron Monger: ESTJ
Tumblr media
Stane is your typical Te-dominant villain; objective, critical, organized, a tad perfectionist, and goal-oriented. He tends to wear false emotions; he most likely hates Tony Stark but acts affectionately towards him in public to maintain appearances. While most Te-dominant villains are ENTJ, Stane doesn’t appear to plan very far ahead; instead, he looks to the past to prepare for the future. He’s fond of comparing his plan and other people to historical incidents and expects that if Tony Stark WAS ABLE TO BUILD THIS IN A CAVE! WITH A BOX OF SCRAPS!, then naturally his servants should be able to recreate it with the best tools, right? (Si).

Nick Fury: ESTJ

Ivan Vanko: ISFJ
Tumblr media
Vanko’s motivation is something that happened years ago that he just can’t let go of. He refers to past actions and experiences; he acts because of the death of his loved one (his father) and simply wants vengeance. He adapts himself to new circumstances, changing his behavior depending on who he’s manipulating (a demonstration of how strong Si/Fe can be used by an antagonist.) He wants to recreate his home environment as closely as possible, and recognizes that the bird they’ve brought is not his exact bird, despite looking virtually identical to the audience. He utilizes his lower Ti and Ne in order to slip out of his personas and trick people into doing what he wants them to.
Justin Hammer: ENFJ
Tumblr media
Hammer is your typical ENFJ villain. Smarmy and polite on the surface, conforming to laws of society and expectations for emotions; utilizing pleasantries and creating a friendly environment in order to appear his best. He’s a tad emotionally volatile and quite over-the-top; he luxuriates in front of a crowd, with people cheering his name. He has an overarching goal (crush the competition) and will utilize anything he sees to attain that goal. His treatment of Vanko marks his nature; Fe dominant coddling, Ni auxiliary long-term goal and symbolism monolguing, Se utilization of an immediate asset, and inferior Ti lack of logic in thinking that asset is just going to cooperate blindly.
THOR:
Thor Odinson: ESTP

Clint Barton/Hawkeye: ISTP

Darcy Lewis; ESTJ
Tumblr media
https://funkymbtifiction.tumblr.com/post/85233269900/thor-darcy-lewis-estj-extroverted-thinking
Odin: ESTJ
Tumblr media
Odin displays his objective, dominant Te in his decision to banish Thor; he’s always pragmatic and quick to grab onto anything that can be utilized for his higher goals. He takes the infant Loki from Jotunheim with the goal of eventually creating a peace through him; however, he doesn’t seem to have enough forethought to think out how this goal would be accomplished. He usually does things as they have always been done in the nine realms; he refers to events of the past and tries to keep things in a stable and comfortable place. He expects people to play by the rules and when they don’t he merits out punishment. His lack of overt affection due to utilizing his inferior Fi mostly just in his sense of justice and nobility definitely plays a role in screwing up both sons (who also share no functions with him and thus struggle to see his point of view.)
Lady Sif: ISTJ
Tumblr media
Sif acts within the rules set out for warriors in Asgardian society. She refers to how things were in the past, discusses her personal experiences with people, and wants things to stay as they were with little regard for the present climate. She’s mostly objective, efficient and quick to get things done. She believes passionately in the people she cares about, and sticks to emotions she’s harbored for a long time. She isn’t very open to change or to the new. She is keen to be a part of history (”People will tell stories of this day.”) She’s generally quite honorable and does what must be done, pushing her personal feelings aside for the good of the realm and of her friends.
Dr. Erik Selvig: ISFJ
Tumblr media
Selvig generally acts on how things have been in the past. He stands for the good of his friends and loved ones, getting Thor out of prison because it’s what Jane would want regardless of the consequences to himself or to others. He recalls details quite well; he’s reluctant to believe in the mystic and the magical, as they were things he read in childrens’ books and thus not a part of adult life. He’s generally quite logical and uses his Ti well; he has enough wherewithal to build the failsafe into the portal in The Avengers. His trauma from that experience sticks with him and unhinges him to the extent that he starts running around babbling like a lunatic in Thor the Dark World, struggling to let go of the experience and overindulging in his lower functions.
Queen Frigga: ESFJ
Tumblr media
Frigga is open, loving and supportive in general. She’s caring and reassuring towards her loved ones and openly accepting of her sons; regardless of what Loki does, she still loves him; regardless of Thor’s impulsiveness, her feelings do not change, and she is very upfront with those emotions, even to Odin. She’s creative and experimental with her lower-functions, and utilizes them to act more as a trickster than a warrior. She wants things to remain as they were, to keep her family together as they once were, regardless of chancing circumstances like Thor’s impulsive behavior or Loki’s genocidal rages.
Heimdall: ISFP
Tumblr media
Heimdall is quietly honorable and motivated by his beliefs in right or wrong. He wants what is good for the realm and also what is right and just in general. He feels things quite deeply but keeps that emotional turmoil within, rarely sharing his true feelings with others and showing openness only towards Thor, whom he seems to trust. He’s quite observant (he does see everything, after all) and notices even the slightest anomaly. He takes action quickly when it needs to be done. He has a great deal of vision and higher-picture thinking; his observant nature and his gut instincts allow him to piece together Loki’s true intentions before anyone else.
The Warriors Three:
Tumblr media
Because they get very little screentime, I can only give surface guesses for them. My best estimate is: Fandrall as ENTP, Hogun as ISTJ, and Vostallg as ESFP. Fandrall is quick to make associations and comparisons, conforms his behavior to best suit the situation (he stops Sif from getting herself in trouble with Loki, aware of the consequences), and utilizes Ne-Ti wit in many comments in order to make dry jokes at his teammates’ expense. Hogun is duty-bound to his people and prefers to go about executing his duties in the most straighforward manner possible. Volstagg reacts mostly to the moment and doesn’t discuss his feelings openly, instead preferring to do rather than contemplate. Those are just estimates and very shallow ones, but they don’t have enough screentime to go deeper.
CAPTAIN AMERICA THE FIRST AVENGER
Steve Rogers ISFJ
Tumblr media

Peggy Carter ENTJ
Tumblr media

Bucky Barnes ESTP
Tumblr media
https://funkymbtifiction.tumblr.com/post/85217506016/captain-america-bucky-barnes-estp-extroverted
Colonel Chester Phillips: ISTJ
Tumblr media
Phillips tends to judge things quickly and based on surface details. He’s interested in the details and minituae of things; Steve is a 90 pound asthmatic, he’s obviously not the right choice for this formula. He follows the rules and goes with tradition. He’s generally blunt and direct, barking orders in the typical angry military guy style and telling off people for disobedience. He keeps any emotions very close to the chest and rarely discusses his beliefs. He’s pretty much there to run day-to-day schematics and keep things in line.
Johann Schmidt/Red Skull: INTJ
Tumblr media
Schmidt has the usual Ni-dominant villain quirks - long monologues about the symbolic reasoning for his grand plan, love of myth symbolism and archetypes and how they tie into what he hopes to achieve, a sense of how everything is connected. He has a grand vision for how the world will be - a glorious future with no flags - and will do whatever it takes, by any means necessary, to accomplish that future. He’s objective and eliminates anything in his way. He appears to have some twisted idea of how his grand scheme is right for the world. He is rather indifferent to what’s going on around him, showing his Se-inferior by doing stupid things like not just letting go of the Tesseract before it fries him into nothing, but does demonstrate the Se need for things  to conform visually to his grand ideas.
Dr. Armin Zola: ISTP
Tumblr media
Zola is mostly a man of logic and science, piecing together the world around him and usually just stating facts or the obvious. He is mostly a man of thought and objective observation. He utilizes whatever he sees around him in order to achieve his bigger picture goals (Se/Ni), for example, grabbing onto the wounded Bucky Barnes and utilizing him for his Winter Soldier experiments. He is mainly rational and strives to survive and thrive; he doesn’t chomp a cyanide pill like the other HYDRA agents because of this, and cares more about thriving in the moment and planning for his own future than any kind of grand goal.
THE AVENGERS:
Agent Maria Hill: INTP
Tumblr media
Maria Hill is generally logical, objective and observes/states simple facts in her conversation with others. She likes to put things simply and in as straightforward a manner as possible. She asks lots of questions and prefers to get her facts clear before acting. She thinks about possibilities and worries about the potential short-term consequences; she makes a lot of quick connections and demonstrates an ability to comprehend truths of her situation quickly and compartmentalize them into a clear and well-defined system (Ti/Ne). She trusts things she’s already seen work and prefers to stick to the tried-and-true methods of getting things done. Although she asks lots of questions, she likes to be in a position where she can just say “Yes, sir” and follow the rules, get things done. (Si). When she’s not on duty, she’s relaxed, friendly, and inquisitive, using her inferior Fe to put people at ease. Her main defining attribute though is her willingness to ask questions, probe deeper, and gain a better understanding.
