the way cole makes varric conflicted is so delicious i think. most of the characters are uncomfortable around him because they're genuinely terrified of demons and the fade and magic in general but varric is a completely different case. the thing is, he doesn't see cole as a demon at all because he doesn't want to.

he acts like he doesn't care about this stuff. that's a little weird kiddo around here and he wants to befriend him. teach him something even. why not. that's a little guy who's a little too good with knives and can't pick up a single social clue at the same time.

but there it is. the "he could have been a person" line if cole is made more spirit. varric is so upset about it because it's not like he saw cole as, well, a spirit who got a little too human. for varric, he was a human first, a weird kid second. the spirit part didn't even come into consideration because. well. it would make him question things. you know where it goes.

every time he starts bitching about anders he brings up justice. justice drove him mad. justice took over him. justice this, justice that. justice is a scapegoat because the thought that someone varric was friends with was actually willing to blow up the chantry and it wasn't just some evil demon's wish is a very unsettling one. varric's friends may be crazy but they're cool and make no irreversible life decisions of that extent, don't they? blondie turned out this way because he let a demon possess him and make him do terrible things. completely out of the blue.

it's either varric's ex-friend has never been driven crazy by some inherently evil entity and there was a whole other person around him all along and that anger he used to mock was coming from the same place as compassion's urge to become a killer or that little weird but kind kid he started to care about has never been and will never be a real kid. he can't have both. a bitter pill to swallow for someone who has never picked a side in his life

Sorcerers’ society find out the causes of earthquakes happening faster than usual was MC due to their magic potential (MC being the cause of all the natural ‘phenomenon’ in S2) and now want to investigate MC and call them in.

Drama has already started baby.

Solomon who’s against this but goes with MC to make sure they’re ok because it’s not a good idea to ignore a seemingly threat invitation I mean.

It’s explained the Ring of light was used to console MC’s magic and everything is fine now but they’re doubting it and want to investigate the Ring of light for themselves, if it’s actually successfuly tamed their magic or just a temporary device to tone it down- simply meaning if MC’s overflow of magic would still be leaking and not fully restrained.

[Also add overprotective Solomon drama who’s against this because that’s hot and more dramatic]

It’s found out the ring of light isn’t powerful enough to completely prevent MC’s magic from overflowing and now…

The sorcerers’ society have deemed MC a threat. A large threat to the human world.

Who would be better off dead. No. SHOULD be dead.

homelessness can happen for a lot of different reasons. the lack of affordable housing is said to be the main one. no matter how hard people work, many are always at risk of being unable to afford rent.

for me, that's a huge part of it, but there's also the mental health aspect of it. i've had just about every entry level job available. i've had jobs that allowed me to pay rent, though just barely. ive worked really, really hard. and unfortunately, for me, no amount of transitional housing is going to help if i'm always miserable working. no amount of job coaching is going to make it bearable for me. and historically, the mental health treatments ive tried (which are so, so many) just haven't worked.

it seems like the goal has always been to 'get on your feet' i.e. get a job and an apartment. the fact that a shocking amount of homeless people are working (including myself at some points) and even working multiple jobs and still haven't 'gotten on their feet' should say a lot. the fact that even people who have never been homeless are closer to homelessness than to owning a house should say a lot. the fact that a percentage of homeless people actually choose to be homeless should say a LOT. it tells me that the goal has shifted. what i was raised to want is now an impossible task.

it sucks because i know half the jobs ive had would have been easy for me if it was actually worth it. if the hours were less, the pay actually let me afford things beyond the bare minimum, and the working conditions were better. therapy and medication would probably work wonders if my disatisfaction with life wasnt completely rational. but it's all fucked, and we all know it.

it's taboo to say it, especially as a homeless person, but i don't want to work. i don't want an apartment. i don't want to own a house. maybe my views will change if things ever get better, but at this point, i don't want to engage with this flawed system at all anymore. i hate that my value is contigent on how well i can slot into the capitalist machine. i know i have value much more important than that, and i'd prefer to earn my place on this earth through my actual strengths. i want life, my connections with other people, and the work i do to have meaning and significance. until the world makes space for that, i'm more than happy taking a government check and living in a van with a cat so i can make art and stream and watch the sunset every night. that's my goal now

loml is very much about matty and the whole song lays that out for us, but just like the rest of the album, feelings she felt towards joe are represented via matty because she felt the same things with both of them. imo it’s more so that the same thing (being promised stability and a future and then the other person bailing) happened twice. once over the course of more than half a decade, and the other in less than a month. i think with joe she was like “okay i already have this boy to go to, he’s been chasing me” and she did, but it turned out to be tragic. also, i think with joe, she refused to feel the loss in the beginning and convinced herself that it’s for the better, and then matty and his fake-love-filled-promises happened and the succession of it was so quick that the second time around, she indeed felt like it was the loss of her life. and she talks about it all in “in summation.” out of the oven and into the microwave, out of the slammer and into a tidal wave indeed.

I love how like, even if you remove the art from every panel of a comic, you can still tell which tumblr artist's work it is.

We all have such different and unique ways we do the panels. Without even seeing the drawings I could tell which of my mutuals comic would be there by that alone.

It's crazy how something as simple as a few boxes on a page can have a style but they do. And it's really fun, at least to me, to see how we all handle panel layouts so differently. How those layouts convey a style and genre of their own.

this isn't like comics-fandom specific by any means, but one thing i do think about semi-regularly is that like. some people are so insistent on stuff being "for fun" so that they can justify never actually thinking about what they're doing, and that's... idk man. in a world where we are inundated with propaganda and bullshit all the time, media literacy, critical thinking, and reading comprehension skills are pretty important. and yeah like no one can have their brain running at max capacity 24/7 but you still gotta like... put in SOME critical thinking. otherwise you just get people being like SO WHAT if this comic is really racist??? you can't ask me to think critically about how it portrays characters of color!!!!! im just here for fun!!!!!! and it's just like. dude.
