Oh my god! An opportunity to analyse Uccio! Persona non grata and public enemy number 1 on motogpblr (btw, are there any Uccio shooters on Tumblr? My inbox is a safe space, I wanna hear your side of the story).

There is no way for me to know for a fact why Uccio ended up being the first domino to fall that led to Sepang 2015 but I did look around to see if I could find a bit more about the relationship between Vale and Uccio.

These two go all the way back to the crib, literally. Uccio mentioned in an interview that Tavullia is a small town and they were only a few months apart in age so they ended up at the only day care in the town together.

Uccio has been called a bumbling fool and a freeloader and what not (look at this post openly roasting him for being Vale's Lackey) and despite my dislike of him I won't do the same (for once lol). Vale shot to stardom at a young age doing the death sport that required him to travel extensively. What better way to feel grounded than to have your childhood friend near you at all times (the fact that Vale didn't leave Tavullia for flashier places like Monaco or wtv has been reiterated in so much writing about him, and Uccio has said the same). There is definitely an element of familiarity and comfort that both Vale and Uccio seek from each other. Uccio mentioned that they would come back from a weekend of racing, put down their suitcases and immediately get on the phone with each other, which, teenage bestie-ism is such a force lol it could power cities if harnessed.

Anyway, back to racing. The consensus is that Vale didn't have the best rivals in Biaggi and Gibernau, they were inconsistent and susceptible to mind games. Vale enjoyed the initial years of his career as an untouchable, peerless talent. And then..... the winds changed direction :)

Vale was 36 in 2015, most pro athletes are considered done and dusted at that age. He had been putting his body through years of premier class motorcycle racing. Add to that how bad the Ducati years had been and just, so much life had happened. I don't want to talk about Sic's death, but that too and while racing at that. Vale had already started working on the academy (Franky was signed in 2013 afaik). Vale had moved on from the glittering, ebullient, darling of every circuit personality. Imo choosing to be a mentor and doing that well is among the most impressive things Vale has done but when you mentally cross the rubicon to accept your youth is decidedly over, it changes things. For starters, it's a real question of whether you've already chosen to hang your boots. What I'm trying to say is, a lot was at stake in 2015 for Vale. The kind of, calm and bemused, quietly malicious as and when required public persona that Vale has honed over the years needs the solid bedrock of consistent winning to seem graceful. It wasn't just a championship at this point, it was a question of pride and cementing your legacy and being the architect of how the world perceives you when the odds have been stacked against you for a while.

Back to Uccio. He simply didn't trust or like Marc. Or anyone who was on the racetrack at the same time as Vale (he didn't even spare sweet nothings for Viñales). I have no concrete theory for said distrust short of just saying Uccio is a bit of a slimy character (this interview of Uccio when he's doing his best impersonation of henchman from an old Hollywood western). Uccio wasn't even happy when Marc made the infamous visit to the ranch in winter of 2014. Guess the whole "Marc is helping Jorge win" thing was Uccio's attempt at reminding Vale of his ruthless nature that he thought Vale was finding hard to tap into (Vale did say Marc was an updated model of him). A friend once said that a lot of time public facing figures aren't as cruel or rancid in their interpretation of the world as much as the followers of said people. So Uccio started talking shit and given the circumstances of 2015, it made an impact.

Ultimately the odds were stacked high and Vale made a mistake. I suppose Vale knows a thing or two about how pressure can make someone succumb to errors :)

So that's my take on the whole deal. Uccio, croney par excellence, used Vale's desperate title bid in 2015 to purge some of his misplaced blood lust. He made Marc his target because according to him the young ones on the grid were nothing but a nuisance. Vale fucked up and let it drive his paranoia and made a big fucking mistake.

As long as MC is doing something to engage with Tamarack-- be it pointing out frogs, helping her collect mushrooms and smooth rocks or running after her when they're playing catch, then Tamarack would be happy to fill out all silence with her own chatter;

I do think that as a kid she'd be curious about why they don't talk and would flat out point it out, but she'd back off and apologise if she noticed it was a touchy subject;

Of course, being a kid and not having an explanation meant that Tamarack would often come up with her own theories as to why MC didn't speak;

Maybe their voice got stolen by a fae or a sea witch;

Or their voice was so, so pretty it would bewitch anyone lucky enough to hear it!;

When MC gets comfortable enough to use their voice with her, she would have a lot of difficulty keeping her excitement to herself;

She'd jump up and down and grab MC's hands and really softly ask them to repeat themselves because even if Tamarack feels she's about to explode from happiness, she doesn't want to spook them too much;

And speaking a bit quieter is Tamarack's own way of containing herself;

At first, she'd just assume that MC's quietness was due to them moving to a new place;

As much as she loves her Omi and Opa and the forest in their backyard, she knows first-hand how scary moving can be;

So in her mind, it was logical that once MC saw that Golden Grove wasn't scary anymore, they'd start talking again;

But she realises soon enough that that wasn't exactly the case, and that they only ever seemed to talk around her;

Tamarack would be a little confused at first, but quickly adapt to the new circumstances;

Well, as best friends they were always together anyway;

So Tamarack was proud to adopt the role of MC's interpreter;

If they felt comfortable whispering things to her, then they'd just need to pull on her overalls or sleeves to grab her attention and whisper what they needed to convey and she would proudly relay the message;

Once they got to know each other better it'd be much easier for her to figure it out without it being said;

Like-- she'd order food for MC without them needing to relay their usual order for her again because she already had it memorised;

I think that Tamarack would feel a lot of pride at being able to be entrusted with something as important as this;

Oh, and if anyone asked her why MC never spoke;

I think Tamarack would come up with a new story every time;

That's when all the stories she made up would come in handy;

I did more draws :)

But you see, Vere is a vry pretty boy and he needs to be drawn. And my oc aarman is also a pretty boy and needs to be drawn. So I drew them both individually, then as chibi’s talking to each other about skin care routines :D

After Aarman gets over his little grudge of Vere saying he smelt like death and the road and that freaking doctor—the two usually talk about skin care, weapons, gossip, and how they’d murder each other(flirting??).

They take awhile to like each other, but once they become closer, Vere gets a bit 🤨 cause Aarman gets curious about Leander and he’s like “Bestie u can do better.”

Vere is probably the second choice for Aarman if Leander an him turn out not to vibe. Definitely an enemies-to-besties-to lovers if that’s the case. And will always keep a slight rivalry even after.

Once becoming friends, Aarman does Vere’s hair sometimes. They do have sleepovers and they are TOP TIER. Full on spa treatments, talk about tea, and one time when Vere fell asleep first (beauty sleep comes first.) Aarman secretly puts Vere’s hair in pretty pigtails before leaving thru the window. (While also giving him a lil smooch on the cheek too because Aarman is just like that.)

Aarman’s definitely asked vere to fight him a lot. To the point where Vere probably gets like— WELL IDK JUST SOMETHING FLIRTY. And Aarman, who promptly doesn’t understand said flirt, is just like “Idk man sounds like ur scared 🙄”

One day Vere finally agrees and thus starts their occasional friendly smack downs. Vere wins a bit more than Aarman does, but puts up a good fight each time and always spices it up to make it fun.

Joys of being a predictable fangirl

I'm going on about three and a half years of obsession now. Most people who aren't totally dense in my social circles have come to associate KnY with how happy it makes me. Unlike many other obsessions over the years, this one is a bit worse because I like collecting stuff for it, which also sort of adds to the obsession.

So anyway, just some moments and interactions below the cut.

--A friend asked me once if I liked to keep the nice tins that sweets came in, even if they don't have the sweets. I assumed this question was in regard to KnY stuff and answered it depended on if I liked the designs. Sure enough, months later, she sent me a care package with KnY tins. Thing is, she had received these and eaten the sweets while they were still good. She took great care in filling them with regular grocery sweets, taping them shut, and returning them to the original packaging. I was surprised and found it funny.

--Formal New Years Greetings. My tea ceremony classmate and I are in nice kimono, bowing with foreheads close to the tatami, asking to be in each other's good care and company in the coming year. As such, she formally asks if I would do her the favor of attending a movie theater showing of KnY with her again. I humbly accepted.

--When I had the opportunity to visit my family last year I took it upon myself to teach my youngest siblings some basic swordsmanship (you know, in case they ever need it). While explaining how they keep the tip of the katana consistently aimed at their opponent's throat while changing stances, as though there's a line extending from the tip, one of them (who has only casually watched the anime) responded with, "oh, you mean like in Kimetsu no Yaiba?" and my heart was warmed with pride.

--A local friend not asking me, 'Do you want to go to the Total Concentration exhibit together,' but instead, "what day do you want to go?"

--I had a very, very, very long day a few months ago and got stuck taking care of a lot of stuff in overtime. A part-timer wanted to get me something sweet at the convenience store to cheer me on, and asked what I wanted. I asked for the cheap wafer snacks with collectable stickers and she hunted them down and obliged.

--One of my other previous coworkers also brought me cheap KnY snacks sometimes, unprompted. Other times he felt he should inform me of things like KnY yatsuhashi on sale at the train station (which I thanked him for but also informed him I had bought some already).

--A best friend of mine, whom I haven't gotten to watch it, is nonetheless supportive of my interests. She knows how much I require total darkness to sleep and how excited I was for how well the KnY eyemasks worked for me, but I bemoaned in passing that the straps on my Nezuko and Zenitsu eyemasks (which were of course chosen because they were funny as eyemasks) were too loose to use them well anymore. While I went to work she went sightseeing, and that evening, she pulled out a present saying, "here, you don't have this one yet!" and it was a Tanjiro eye mask. That is currently what I wear to bed.

--This one is a little complicated. I did successfully drag another bestie into KnY, and her immediate favorite was Inosuke, though she's admitted that she mainly stays familiar with KnY through the joy that I keep getting out of it. When she finally moved to Japan after many pandemic related delays, I had a box of tissues with Inosuke on it (because that's funny) to give her as a housewarming gift. However, not even 15 minutes into our long-awaited reunion she underwent a small tragedy, and as she having a serious breakdown, I, albeit recognizing the levity of the box decor was not quite fitting for the situation, opened my suitcase to pull out a big box of Inosuke tissues for her. Thankfully she found it funny. ----Part two, I have given her a small handful of other KnY things. Like the care-package I sent her while she was stuck in quarantine? She didn't give me enough detail about what she wanted, so of course I just gave her a bunch of cheap KnY snacks of my choosing. There's also been a cute Inosuke accessory or two here or there. She kept saying that someday, someone was going to go over to her house and assume that she was a huge fan due to all the KnY stuff she had gotten from me (and enjoys due to associating it with me). And then it happened! And that person also happened to be a big fan and was thrilled. Long story short, we very, very unexpectedly got to meet each other for about an hour the following day, and we had a special moment with glitter and flowers filling the air around us.

--Day one of my new job, feeling nervous and excited, navigating my way through a transfer at a very busy subway station, I'm looking around for a sign and then bam, there's Tanjiro on a screen. Joy! That is always pleasant. While passing by the posters for the Osaka Metro event going on, the friends who I got dinner with last night of course immediately looked to me to be sure I saw it.

--Speaking of Tanjiro, I'm grateful to be involved with outside activities where everyone knows my KnY fandom enough that I'm not shy at all to use KnY LINE stickers in group chats, which I'm otherwise too shy to use in, say, work chats. I got a couple of messages of people wishing me luck and I had the pleasure of responding with Sumiko, in full make-up, promising to work hard.

Oh, at the new job? They don't know yet. I'm sure they'll find out I like KnY. Then it'll be a question of when they find out how much.

“You picked up the cake, right?” she asks in lieu of a hello as your boyfriend walks into her apartment door, arms full. 

“Hi to you too. I imagine it’s a cake in this big box I just hauled up two flights of stairs,” he says with a smirk as she rolls her eyes at him. 

She’s busy fussing over the drinks on the counter as though it’s not going to be just the three of you tonight. “And you got the noise makers?” she calls out over her shoulder. 

“They were out, so I got…these?” he says hesitantly. 

She turns around to see him with a shiny paper birthday hat on his head, looking sheepish but hopeful, curls poking out every which way. 

“It’s their first Pride month being out, not their birthday,” she chides, although she knows immediately that you’re going to love it. 

He shrugs. “Kind of like a birthday. A first, anyway. I think they’ll like ‘em,” he declares, helping her finish setting up. It was important to both of them that this happen just right for you. Your family had not been terribly supportive when you came out - surprise, surprise - but your little family of your best friend and your boyfriend got you through the hardest times. They were here for you, always. 

Her phone dings, a text from you that you’re walking in the building. She scoots him over to the cake and lights the candles, waiting eagerly for you to walk in.

“Hey, instead of yelling ‘Happy Pride!’ should we yell ‘You’re bi!’ instead?” he asks, with full sincerity. 

She elbows him in the ribs. “I’m never planning a party with you again.” 

You push the door open and freeze in pure shock. 

“Happy Pride!”

“You’re bi!” 

“Dammit, dude, I told you not to -” 

You drop your bag on the floor and walk over to the two most important people in your life. “What…what is this?” you ask, a smile blossoming across your face when you see the little flags sticking out of the cake. 

She gives you a huge hug, the kind that makes you feel loved unconditionally. “We just wanted to celebrate your first Pride being out! I love you so much, bestie boo.” 

A lump in your throat forms as the scene before you starts to sink in. “I love you too, but you shouldn’t have gone to so much trouble.” 

He quickly accepts your hug next, wrapping you in his warm embrace. He feels like safety and love and home. “So proud of you, baby. Thank you for being you.” 

You wipe away the tears that are rolling down your cheeks and tell him that you like his hat, prompting a giant eye roll from your best friend and a triumphant cheer from your boyfriend. The three of you spend the rest of the night chatting and laughing. They’re your people. Your chosen family. 

Your best friend insists on cleaning up while you and your boyfriend go sit out on the balcony, happy to give you two some time alone. “Go be disgustingly in love,” she says. 

You happily cuddle up against him on the tiny loveseat. “Thanks for this, honey. Are you sure you’re alright with everything?” you wonder, still worried he might change his mind and decide he can’t deal with any of this. 

He squeezes you to his side and kisses your head. “When you told me that night, there was no question. I meant what I said. I love you, and this is you. I pinkie promised- I’m not going anywhere. I love you.” 

You feel like asking him to pinch you because this must be a dream. You tell him you love him too, and let the rest of the words go unsaid. You’ve never felt more like yourself in your life. You could get used to this.

What’s a pride confession? Idk what that is but i’lI take a whirl at it and tell you mine. I told my mom I was bisexual, when I was 16, when she was in the hospital, fighting for her life (she lived, thank heavens) I said “hey in case you die, I just wanted to let you know that I actually do like girls/boys and yes I did have a crush on my female tutor in elementary school.” She said, “I knew it, don’t tell your father, he can’t handle another child coming out of the closet.”Which brings me to my next confession, I’m going to come out to my dad when he’s in his coffin, so that way he can’t say nothing back bc I can’t take his anger or rejection. I saw his reaction when my sister came out as a lesbian. I was 8 years old and it traumatized me. I’ve never seen my sister cry like that and all I heard was “hell this” and “hell that”. It scared me because I started thinking girls were really “pretty” around the time my sister came out. I thought he would lash out at me if he knew who I really was. Still don’t have the courage or bravery to tell him. I don’t think I ever will and it’s just a sad truth I’ll have to accept. So proud of my sister for telling our father who she is and who she loves. Married the same woman my dad yelled at her for being with 25 years ago. They have a beautiful child together. My mother and my brother accepts me for who I am and that’s more than enough for me. I don’t need my dads approval. Anyways, hopeful I understood the assignment and delivered! Hi!I need your opinion on the vault tracks for Speak Now TV!!! I somehow guessed a while ago that there would be collabs with Hayley Williams and I even guessed it would be on Castles Crumbling which is a song we've known about for a while. It really reminds me of their song Brick by Boring Brick so I hope it's similar to that. Or I always thought it could be the heartbroken version of Love Story..so maybe it will be slow and more similar to the Nothing New collab which I would also love!!! I guessed Fall Out Boy cuz she said they were a heavy influence on her at that time and she even sang Sugar we're going Down on the Speak Now tour..so my emo heart is so happy even though I know other people didn't want collabs. Also they both had really great albums out this year and I love them so much! Okay so I was reading out the track names with my sister and trying to pick them which ones we'd like for fun..then I saw When Falls in Love and freaked out. This confused my sister..who thought it would be like a Folklore old fashioned love song like Pride and Prejudice or something like Betty I guess . Am I fucking crazy for thinking this could be about Emma and Andrew??? We know they went to the Speak Now tour together and besties at the time!!! This apparently didn't even cross my sister's mind..lol so maybe it's just me. Like..she didn't even think I would wanna pick that one haha and the funny thing is..even if it didn't say the name Emma..she isn't a romantic at all. The weird thing is..I somehow maybe manifested this a while ago..thinking what Taylor thought of the relationship at the time..and if she wrote a song about it and I imagined it as a slow piano love song so i'm hoping for that! I was also surprised Battle wasn't on there but maybe she wrote it with someone and that's why..cuz that's why she left off Drama Queen..but it was also pretty similar to Better than Revenge. Idk which order to listen in. I was doing in order cuz I don't usually play her old albums in full or anything and it's been a while. But then I thought I could switch up order since we've heard it before..like listen to vault tracks first or one on shuffle..and see if it changes something about the album. So I might listen to vault tracks first for this one! I can't wait to have new favorite songs again..I'm so excited!

hi!! I immediately thought of you with the features and the emma discussion! I remember seeing a rumour that castles crumbling is about her parents getting divorced (which I'd definitely enjoy) but I have no idea if there's any truth to that or if it was just speculation.

obviously the Emma could be a fictional one or just someone we don't know about but it does feel like there's something there that the only Emma we know of her being friends with was Emma Stone! if it is about her and Andrew then that really doesn't help me in trying to get over a couple of celebrities that I don't know and that are long broken up 😭 I'm probably most curious about that one because it's such a specific title, but I'm looking forward to all of them. also it's fun that the genres are quite mysterious since there's presumably a bit of a pop punk vibe, plus it's probably quite country heavy still.

I may get tempted by the vault songs and I do think it's a fun opportunity to sort of experience the album in a different way, but I'll probably end up going for mine first anyway. it's exciting having new songs to look forward to and I love the whole original album so I'm sure I'll love this!

She grew up in Blackpool in the UK.

Her mother constantly told her she was the greatest dancer in the world... and she believed it.

It was pretty much all she did for the first 10 years of her life, driving her dancing partners crazy as she was the type of young girl who fell in love with everyone. Her dance partner at the age of 9, Ben, basically ran for the hills.

At 10 the whole family moved down to London for her father’s job.

High school was a strange experience for her. She went from nobody to the most popular girl in school. She was head cheerleader, aced all her classes and found a boyfriend for the first time. They were a very unlikely pair, complete opposites and when things fell apart, they became ugly.

Her attitude in high school wasn’t the greatest.

It was in college she discovered interior design and the dancing fell to the wayside.

First she did up her own place upon graduation, and then moved onto other properties in the city. It didn’t take long to build up her business. She opened a small office in the backroom of her home and things went from strength to strength.

At 26, she unexpectedly fell pregnant, the relationship she’d been in still fairly new. But they were happy, started making plans, figuring out the rest of their lives together.

Up until she miscarried anyway. They decided to try again and sadly the same thing happened. Summer was in denial, she threw herself into work, she ignored him, pretended everything was alright.

It wasn’t alright. In fact, within the space of a couple of months, the relationship ended and she found herself alone once more.

A couple of years later she made the decision to do things alone, looking into adoption.

Now, five years on from then, she’s mother to Amy and she couldn’t be happier.

She’s still working herself to death, drinks too much coffee, sips on too many bottles of wine. She’s very headstrong, but a lot of fun, she prides herself on being everyone’s ‘mum’ and is always there if someone needs a shoulder to cry on.

Owns a Dalmatian called Boris, who’s getting on a little, so she constantly refers to him as her old man.

Still dances and will give the occasional lesson if you ask her nicely.

you know the first thing that popped up to me is self centric and it's not a bad thing, ppl tend to overlook your personality or misjudge you alot ( not everyone does this, only some). but to some you are seen as someone very responsible and you tend to not over analyse stuff and always go with the flow. People tend to like that about how easygoing you are and some may envy how you always look like you keep life in check (you know sometimes ppl see what they wanna see, only u know how much u struggle to get to where u are). I'm also picking up some sad energy too, I'm not sure but I see some ppl may see you dealing with something / ur going thru a hard time but hey that love seeing how courageous and how strong you are in times like this (I'm proud of you too). It's sudden but I'm picking up abt love but it's more to self love so ig ppl see you as someone that knows how to care/nurture themselves (thru arts for example) so u should take pride on it and keep nurturing yourself, little flower 🌸.
