So much of Hammer and Sparrow is Sparrow leaing her.

Sparrow leaves her to find Garth, they leave to fight the crucible, they leave for the spire, they leave to find reaver, they're shot and temporary dead and leave to be with Rose.

Not all of thse are Sparrows choice, Theresa calls the shots, Hammer pissed off Mad dog, the cullis gate explodes

But they're really the only person Hammer views as a friend, and they're always leaving her behind.

So I guess it makes sense that at the end, its Hammer that leaves

I finished that Castlevania show recently and I also remembered that the Fable franchise has weird dolls based on heroes. So have a modified version of this scene.

(Also why tf did this simple comic take me, like, weeks to make?? Please let me know if there’s any legibility issues. I’m still figuring comic making/posting out.)

Thinking about how after her father died Hammer adopts her name, despite previously saying how much she disliked it, and essentially objectifies herself in doing so.

Becaue that's why she doesn't want to be called Hammer, she's Hannah, its her name, it's a common name and brimming with personhood, and she is a person.

A Hammer is an object, its used to fix things, though it can just as well be used to destroy, and you do need to put strength behind your swings. She’s called that because shs strong and she doesn't like, doesn't find it funny, tells Sparrow as much when they meet.

And then her father dies, and Hammer makes her vow to get revenge, to essentially "fix it" to the best of her ability. When Theresa shows up and uses her name, she says "Call me Hammer". She rejects her personhood, and lets herself be used as a tool. She destroys when necessary, such as with the gate in bandit coasr, but her ultimate goal is to fix. To fix herself in the wake of her fathers death, to fix Lilith by reuniting her with her son, to fix Albion.

But its a naive view really. Albion isn't really "fixed" its just not on the edge of destruction. Lilith never had a son, she was just leading them into a trap. She can't change the fact that her fathers dead by becoming a weapon.

Thats why she leaves, and it hurts because Hammers the one we've spent the most one on one time with, but Hammer needs to finally take care of herself. She needs to stop being Hammer, and start being Hannah.

Sparrow (Fable 2) hc's

Obviously since Sparrow is shaped by the players choices this shit was hard to write but again I tried.

• God forbid you're a talkative person.

• Well at least the type of talkative person that actually wants to have a conversation and not just someone who rambles to themselves. 'Cuz Sparrow isn't going to say much/anything.

• If you're a civilian, then have fun not seeing your spouse for months or years (if it's before they leave to the Spire).

• Sparrow will just drop by the house randomly. If you have children, then they'll probably give you guys some gifts they've acquired from their travels (it's what Dog's dug up from someone's garden).

• If you're a hero, then you'll probably have a somewhat stronger/stable relationship since they'll allow you to accompany them on their travels.

• But again don't talk to much, Sparrow will just send you off to play catch with Dog so you leave them alone for a bit 💀

• Sparrow won't say it (or a lot at all) but they'd be a lot more trustful of you if Hammer likes you.

• Which isn't too hard as long as you're a decent person.

• Stay AWAY from Reaver.

• Sparrow avoids him when they can and expects you to do the same.

• Doesn't trust Garth too much outside of taking down Lucien so best to keep contact with him minimal. Which also isn't hard since Garth isn't exactly sociable.

• Just stay near Sparrow and Hammer and you'll be fine.

• Don't try and poke into Sparrow's past. Their parents, their life on the streets and especially Rose. Sparrow might show you around Bowerstone Old Town and show you their caravan in the Gypsy Camp (If you don't already live there) but that's as much of their past as they're willing to share.

• Honestly if you're not travelling/tending the house then you'll spend a lot of your time in the pubs around Albion.

• Either for Sparrow to earn some money or it's because they've been dragged into some drinking game with the local drunkards.

• Inevitably having to meet Derek/Arfur when you venture/walk around Bowerstone Old Town.

Honestly I have no hope for Fable 4 but I do hope it makes some people play the old games and revive the fandom even a small bit.
