hey folks, i may not be posting as much going forward because my father put my email on a lifelock account, which means that he may be alerted each time i log into my tumblr account. i use tumblr on the website on safari and i frequently log in and out because im anxious that my parents will check my search history, but they very rarely ever do. im testing if they get alerted right now by logging in to ao3 and c.ai, two websites that my parents likely wont be opposed to but would tell me and ask me about it if i got an alert. deleting my account is a last resort, but it is still on the table. this change is indefinite. i have backup plans in case my parents do get alerts from lifelock, but nothing is definite. i may continue on just fine, i might not. just giving y’all a heads up in case something does happen.

tl;dr my account may be discovered by my parents and i may be punished, maybe it wont. we’ll see

like dirk has orange. only friedkin needed to go and he didnt even say anything. clearly orange is deemed a low threat (at least in terms that the project themselves doesnt have powers that can hurt you, which dirk doesnt, he can just end up in locations tht cause violence)

the rowdy three have red and as riggins says Normally, confronting these subjects would be a 40-man operation. I'd want 10 men for every one of them. so red means dangerous but can be managed

bart and mona both have light blue. weapons and armies cant work on them. theyre two powerful and regular people arent gonna touch them. however what does seem to work? talking *cough*manipulating*cough* building a meaningful relationship. both priest and ken get this and the way they interact with bart. and ken (i also think because he survived bart he thinks can survive mona- which yeah he did but still) interacts with mona in a careful way using certain words to get on her good side (using dirk specifically)

This is some crazy interactivity we got. Im not gonna talk about everything since many arent plot/lore relevant. At the least getting to explore more of Johns house in detail has been great! I love his silly little walk animation.

We have two speakers, the first being the new disembodied voice. They type in all caps on a black background with orange borders and address John as Boy throughout the flash. Each of their texts are preceeded with the command '>' symbol, though not everything they type is a command. The other is, I assume, our narrator. They type in the way we've seen so far on a white background with lime green borders and, unless 'talking' with >VOICE, address John as 'you'. Its interesting to note >VOICE can see what Narrator says when its addressed to them. Its unclear if they can see Everything the narrator types however.

Now for the nity-gritty. (Which is all gonna be under the cut for lengths sake)

(Just so I dont have to type it out so much >VOICE will be V and Narrator will be N)

We start this flash on the roof landing where we get instructions on how to proceed. Vs text boxes are stated to be command menus.

When I was first clicking around I though each object only had 1 command. I found out the sprite and John actually have follow ups when I was trying to tap the sprite when I miss clicked with how closely it sticks to John.

For the Sprite, N rehashes what we saw in the previous update and also notes the transformation did not make the Sprite understandable, it still speaks in fleur de lis. In the next command from V, N reveals [The only thing you can theoretically do with it is TIER 2 PROTOTYPE IT, assuming that's still possible...]. V doesnt seem to have knowledge of SBURB trying to get John to <TIER PROTO TYPE THE SPRITE, OR THE THING YOU SAID.> According to N, [The SBURB SERVER USER is supposed to do that.] With the previous comment combined, it seems Rose may or may not be able to affect John wherever he is. That or N is just as clueless to the extent of SBURBs reach, even if they have more knowledge.

John has a lot more said about him. Here is where we get the interactions between V and N.

Vs use of Johns name doesnt last very long and quickly reverts to Boy. While they are issuing commands, it seems like broad statements dont work. Im wondering where V is even doing this from. Surely it has to be somewhere where they have a visual on John to be able to discern his gender. Its probably a computer of some sort but they probably havent replaced Rose as the Server player or else I feel like N would have said something when talking about sprite prototyping. If thats the case, is V some sort of interloper? Are they Supposed to be able to do this or have they somehow stumbled upon this feed? How would that even be possible and what are the implications of that?

N is Not having it with V and seems pretty frustrated with the whole situation. Im also realizing the same questions kind of apply to N as I have for V. We kinda took the narration for granted but this is opening the idea that N Is their own character and is Also somewhere commenting on all of Johns actions. When did this happen? Has it been a constant for John that was never noticed? N is more likely Supposed to be able to do this but for what reason?

Interestingly, V is attempting to use a command that has shown up in the comic already, ==>. So they have some knowledge of how commands Should work but cannot entirely control the narrative.

The Cruxite and Alchemiter also rehash things we already saw such as the tree creation. N however does have this to say at the end of the Alchemiter text, [You wonder what happened to your DAD?]. I am now increasingly worried Dad might not be in the kitchen.

We leave the balcony and go to Johns room first. Upon entering it seems that whatever was under Johns bed is no longer there though it left traces of some sort of black substance. Whatever it was seems to have taken Johns gift according to N:

On examining the posters, V has no idea of the movie titles. Stangely V does seem to know something; <IS THAT JOHN CUSACK?>

BUT, in the bottom corner the time has been replaced with question marks. Wherever John is its not just frozen in time but Completely Removed From The Natural Flow.

<BOY, LOOK THROUGH THIS WINDOW.> On inspection it seems only the things mentioned in commands were saved as the green between the mailbox and tree is now void.

In a perversion of the original command N states:

Its important to note V does not use any of the names given to the SBURB machines only approximations based on looks, <THIS HUGE SEWING MACHINE. OF WHAT USE IS IT.> Conversely N does have knowledge of the machines but not the extent of their uses, at least in so much as John is supposed to have, [You guess maybe other PUNCH CARDS will produce different shapes? It bears further exploration.] We might likely do more alchemy further on in the comic with this comment in mind.

We leave Johns room and head right.

Looking out this window we see the cake covered pogoslime and a mangled swingset.

The Cruxtruder text from N implies moving it would require Grist which seems odd to me. Deploying it was free so it stands to reason moving it should also be free. The next door takes us outside where again we see no signs of goo or Dad. From here theres no way to the front of the house to explore further. I do wonder Where Dad was taken(?). Theres no visible way down from the cliffs so...

I'm questioning being osdd1a but I don't really think I've been through enough trauma, maybe cptsd, and I'm being genuine and as non-confrontational as possible when I ask why endos are invalid?

1. you've been through enough, people process trauma differently and something that barely effected one person can be devastating to another!! if you've been through repeated trauma ( ex: getting abused in any way in childhood, getting bullied very badly, unstable home life, and/or others ) you can form OSDD/DID. also, dissociative amnesia isnt just " blacking out ", it includes emotional amnesia, which can make you forget how you felt/disconnect emotionally from a memory. i assure you that some things you now think " arent a big deal " really traumatized you!!

2. okay so theres multiple reasons why i say endos dni so im gonna have sub-points

2a. they're appropriating did/osdd terms for their own use. ' alter ' stands for ' alternate states of dissociation ' and ' system ' stands for ' system of dissociative parts '. when they say stuff like " non-dissociative system " it spreads misinformation about the origins of the term, same goes for alter.

( from here on out i'm gonna use system to describe p/w did/osdd and endo system origins to describe endos, just bc saying " p/w did/osdd " takes too long to type )

2b. they're trying to compare being tulpagenic/willogenic/stuff like that to being a system with trauma. endogenic and willogenic ( if willogenics possible ) experiences and inner functionality would be WAY different than a systems. endogenics wouldnt have c-PTSD, so they wouldnt have many traumaholders/protectors/persecutors/gatekeepers/tbh most system roles because their brains wouldnt feel the need to form those in order to be safe. endogenics also view having headmates as something fun and quirky while most systems view it as what it is: a disorder. if every p/w did/osdd liked having alters, integration wouldnt be a thing.

2c. they're inherently anti-recovery. they like to find people who found out that they're a system and tell them all abt endogenic junk, leading the new sys to believe that they are endogenic. the problem with that is that its practically impossible for that system to tell if they're truely " a system with no trauma " or a system that just cant remember it. systems form because the victim of trauma/abuse uses dissociation to cope with their situation, then the brain causes dissociative amnesia to form. a m n e s i a. most systems dont remember their trauma. hell, i dont remember most of mine!! but i know it exists because of the trauma holders who do remember it. with endos spreading the idea that being " a system without trauma " is possible, many p/w did/osdd will stick to that instead of the realization that their childhood sucked and had to break in order to survive, hence why the endo community is anti-recovery.

not really a point, but endos also tend to be pretty cocky so even if i did agree with their community i wouldnt want them interacting...

I'm finally getting to this, sorry for the wait!

Gray HCs

Gray would say (or rather sign) that his first language was sign language. He grew up in a household where many of the members were deaf or hard of hearing. He himself isn't either of those, but he learned so he could effectively communicate with his family.

Because his family couldn't hear him very well, Gray grew up to be a very quiet kid. Some people even thought that he was mute because he just wasn't used to communicating with his voice.

When he speaks hes either super quiet or super loud. There is no inbetween. Since most of the brawlers have good hearing, he just speaks super soft, so theyre unaware of how loud he can be if he really needs to.

He knows LSF (French Sign Language) and ASL (American Sign Language) but hes trying to learn other sign languages to better connect with more people.

He is always willing to teach people how to sign and thinks its wonderful that others are being mindful about it.

Gray is a master at Charades, even without his extra mime powers or signing he can easily get his points across.

Silent movies were a big thing for him growing up, since they can get the story across without much sound. This inspired Gray to pursue not just pursue acting, but to focus on the niche of silent black and white film.

Most people think Gray is serious due to his monochromatic wardrobe and resting frowny face, but hes actually quite silly and isn't afraid to make a fool out of himself.

Though he has his mime powers, he can still be an effective actor without them. They just make some stunts very easy/convenient.

He is the youngest of the older men in the park. Somewhere around his late-thirties to fourties.

He met Lola a couple of times during his time in acting school and during their acting careers. They both grate on each other's nerves but still have a healthy respect for one another. Neither of them expected or knew that the other was signing into the park so it was quite the surprise for both of them.

He and Mico are cordial with one another. Mico doesnt really interact with him much, since Gray's performances dont really need sound and cause his niche market isnt really good for getting famous. Gray isn't too bothered by his aloofness and just keeps a respectable working relationship with him.

Since working with RT, Gray has developed a fondness for the little guy and likes to visit him in his security tower when things arent too busy.

Gray has a soft spot for cats and also admires Kit's long acting career. They like to chat about things, and sometimes Gray gives Kit some ear scritches for his trouble. (Kit gave him permission so its all good)

- ONLY HIGH POSITIONS CAN DO THIS (The Syzygy and then those trusted by them to clean the trash of the multiverse)

- when the body dies, it fades like in genshin (without the weird falling thing) but theyre still there. it can materialize again if they want or not. if they exhausted themself too much , itll take a bit longer. most of the time, it takes maybe a min (because many normally die during fights so they have to get back to help faster)

- after one’s respawn, people will notice something… off about the body though. did they always have that scar? why are their eyes so bright?? why is their skin slightly glowing? the light around their head oddly looks like a halo if you focus.. huh. Apologies I phrased that very poorly, transfem/otherwise AMAB (not all AMAB nonbinary/genderqueer people identify as transfeminine which is why i use agab, but TMA would be more appropriate!) GQ experiences are different enough from AFAB (etc etc) or TME transgender ones to classify them as different things? Lumping both together under “transgender” widens the experience the term captures. the experience of transmisogyny is 90% of transphobia, I don’t believe transmascs face any systemic discrimination aside from reactive misogyny before passing, and most have extremely different experiences from transfems: Are they similar enough to be recognized as transgender in the same way? Or would another term be more appropriate. Something I’ve been thinking on for a while

ahh, i see, thanks for elaborating. while i get your meaning, i would disagree. i think its certainly true that trans experiences range pretty broadly across the spectrum and that transmisogyny is really extreme and probably the most numerous example of transphobia, but im not sure id go so far to say that it is wholly representative of transphobia; although id get pretty close, a lot of transphobia and bias is influenced heavily by transmisogyny or other generalized fear of transfemininity/failed masculinity, like a lot lot.

moreover, i worry that this kind of analysis could lead to overfocusing on some aspects of gender, and losing sight of other vital key parts to how gender is actively lived and enforced (such as class, race, culture, whole milieu). i also want to push back a bit on the "transmascs dont face systemic discrimination" because i just think its too black and white since they definitely do (not mentioning other axes of oppression here, though you should when thinking this out because systemic discriminations interact in many ways with transness), just sometimes less or in different ways than transfems/tma folks. as an example, trans women have been observed on avg to be paid 60% less than the avg worker (horrendous), trans men arent much above that being observed at 70% (referencing this). sure the gap sucks and is evidence of the privilege that comes with not being tma, but they’re also still getting screwed, right? i also dont think we need to chalk these issues they face up to misogyny imo, i think its more accurate to describe it as transphobia as its denying their worth based on their divergent gender

tl;dr, while this feels a little baity, transmascs are definitely also discriminated against and while they can (and do) perform terrible transmisogyny to transfems and completely not understand their transphobia due to their own unique trans situation (many such cases), as a whole we have more in common with each other than against each other, most importantly the value of trans liberation and a cuter future where gender isnt so big of a deal. but to be clear if you're a snake about trans women and fail again and again to confront and learn from your transmisogynistic biases, you are poisoning the well by spreading such ideas in the community

Im gonna. Use this as an excuse to talk about Sector AU. Which I know you specifically know about but I haven't talked about it much on tumblr.

Okay so Sector AU is my PolyZITS X Rancher AU [Jimmy got added later. I mean. Look at him. Hes like Tango's wet cat. And Tango is his wet cat. I. Hhhhh]. I sort of havent settled on anything about sector au specifically yet because it's just kind of my 'I wanna think about my rarepair guys in situations' au but the gist of it for those who don't know. ->

Every guy in the relationship represents a different 'sector' of the MC Universe. Zedaph represents the End and is a sort of beetle hybrid sort of inspired by the endermites. He has the shielded wings, multiple arms, those big ass beetle...antannae? Antler? things? And the beady black eyes. He's also only like 4 feet tall. He's tiny. Bug guy.

Tango represents the Nehter [of course] though not as your standard Netherborn Tango guy, though it does pull from that a bit. He's sort of - a lizard? He [and zedaph] can skitter up walls and needs to be kept warm - going as far to swim in lava to do so. IDK man a lot of the nether creatures make me think of lizards. Instead of wings, tango has those like. Arm glider things some lizards have, along with the frills and the scaly skin. He still has the fire hair, though its almost like a mohawk in my head that goes down his back, w a lizardy tail to match. Charmander! He's charmander. he's also short, like 4'5, so not as short as zed but still. tiny.

Skizz is an avian, specifically a hyacinth macaw which are the biggest and strongest of the parrot species - and they're the deep blue parrot you can see in minecraft. I made him an avian bc i like bird guys but also idk man Skizz just fits the bird vibes. Everyone always makes him an angel to go with Impulse's whole demon thing and given Impulse this felt fitting to do. It should go without saying he's fucking massive. Like 6'8 massive or sometihng. big.

IMPULSE is a descendent of the Ancients, who still lives underground. I havent really figured out fully whats going on w him but Sculk Guy who isnt Quiet Human and is also tall but not skizz tall. Like a few inches shorter.

And then theres Jimmy, who's just a plain ol human who lives in the world and gets kind of sucked into their world. I imagine maybe that all of the servers these 5 interact on are like, continents in this world, and theres like some not-quite-server-fic shenanigans occurring where its like. They go on adventures and can interact with worlds they dont exist on [yet <- manifesting Hermit Skizz] and also they get to hold hands nad kiss maybe and tango and zed can climb everyone like a tree and its like

I have two very specific scenes in mind - Skizz teaching Impulse to fly w an elytra because he cant teach him FLIGHT proper but avians use rockets the same way elytra work where they glide back down so he can teach Impulse [And later - jimmy] to fly.

And then a second imagine of tango and Jimmy in a cave exploring and using Tango as a light source but because they arent putting down torches they get lost and a creeper blows up in their face and injures them and they have to make their way back to the other members of the polycule and its all a very daunting task and just. hhhh.

hmm as someone who lives in a very minority white society black white race relations can be very interesting. i mean reality is i think unfortunately wherever the ppl are not homogenous there are multiple races there may be racism esp when it's in a british post colonial setting bc tht was their tactic. in my day to day idk yh sometimes i feel the "presence" of race in a situation but most times no i dont think i really do notice it. but in the larger international society racism is portrayed as mainly american and definitely white against black. realizing tht actually if i do move to/visit a majority white society actually yh race(ism) might truly be a culture shock for me. but yh i had to watch jay-z's 2013 picasso baby art performance film for class n it's making me think or race which weird bc it's not at all related to why we're watching it lol. i mean personally i dont know or myb rather remember what i know abt jay-z. but i know he's black he's a rapper he lives in america. im not familair with his lyrical content per se but to me the idea is tht rapping (esp) in america is a strong black culturak marker esp one associated with fighting back even tho i know all raps arent explicitly abt such themes it feels like to an extent american black rappers embody the we fight back black american attitude if tht makes sense. but then the video i deadass feel like the white ppl waiting to see him outnumbered the black which to me feels so crazy in a like what do you know abt jay-z? what do you know abt rap? what do you know about those lyrics? what do you know abt being black? and then it's like actually what do i know about any of those things also? literally less than they do. and he invited specific high profile persons to come into the ring with him a lot of them white. his body guards tpn the cops outside also white. n all im thinking is but they hate you? they hate your kind?? they want you dead??? it feels like disgust with him for being a traitor. which is interesting bc thts not how i view other or everyday interactions but in the video all i cld see was race. there's also the reality tht money n fame trump race at least to am extent at least sometimes, idk very thoughts but im falling asleep

dont make me tap the sign. fictional exploration of pedophilia/incest/abuse/etc at all isnt the problem, its the way its portrayed. if youre out here portraying that shit as bad and inexcusable, then youre fine. if youre exploring it in a way that doesnt defend it, then youre fine. if youre out here saying that a 40 year old man getting it on with a 14 year old is cute or sexy, or that two brothers having a sloppy makeout is hot, then yeah im going to burn your house down with you in it

the thing about the "what about fictional murder??? ppl romanticize that all the time and you dont see people turning into murderers irl!" argument is that. well. people dont groom people with murder fics. ppl dont show others art of their favs getting murdered and then try to use that to justify them murdering someone. that just doesnt happen. what Does happen is that ppl use incest/pedophilic ships and art portraying it in a "cute" or "fun" light and they use that to justify their grooming actions. that does happen. ive Seen it happen.

and no, im not saying that getting rid of this depiction of these subjects in media or fanworks is going to Stop All Grooming. thats silly. i know that if theyre going to groom someone theyre going to find a way to do it anyway, im not an idiot. but all im saying is that this shit makes it easier, makes it more accessible, and may even make it more normalized, which i hope you can agree is a bad thing.

exploration is one thing! lots of gothic media has "problematic" shit like that in it. lots of fiction has gross shit that the author doesnt condone irl, theyre just exploring it through writing. however, romanticization is another thing. portraying it as cute and fun is another thing. trying to excuse it by saying its fiction is another thing. thats when you ascend to freak status in my book.

youre not ~making a statement~ by declaring yourself a Proud Proshipper--at least not the one you think you are. youre giving me the signal that you dont care about how certain subjects are portrayed even if theyre harmful, and youre telling me that i should stay far the fuck away from you.

last thing i'll say on this is that for the record i am also against purity culture. i dont think ppl should be watering down media to be Acceptable and Pure all the goddamn time. i dont think ppl should stay away from "problematic" media entirely as long as they can use their brains and be critical and not excuse or defend said problematic content. everything is problematic bitch lets get you some fruit. yknow? theres nuance and context to everything; things arent black and white. trying to take the problems out of everything is a waste of effort and frankly makes everything boring as shit. having said all this, the way things are portrayed and how you interact with them are still important factors and i will stand by that

Thanks for giving me a chance to rant about my fave Badass Diva, babe! Others feel free to send in a name and choose particular things

Why I like them: I really loved how tenacious and driven she was to reach her personal goals and doesnt like to compromise on that but she's still such a caring person that she cant help but jump in to help or save people as a hero, even tho she continually said she didnt wanna be a hero. Just her compassion for people in general, even who I wouldnt think deserve her compassion: 

Her first thought in both instances with her stalker, Karl Fredricks (Dazzler #26 & Uncanny X-Men ‘63 #260), is to reason with him and try to keep him from getting hurt. Also when battling him one of her main concerns is him hurting anyone else before she thinks of him hurting her.

Why I don't: There arent really points about her I don't like. I guess my biggest gripes are that writers tend to relegate her to a gimmick cameo character more often than not and miss opportunities to showcase her immense powerset range and the deep connections she has with a large portion of the not just other X-Men characters but the other marvel heroes as well. 

Also just the original fact the editors didnt allow her to be based on Grace Jones, like John Romita Jr. intended. It would've been noce to have another dark skinned Black woman hero, with star power outside of Ororo Munroe. And gosh the way they probably couldve bonded and had eachother to lean on. There's just so many "what ifs" that woulda probs changed not only Ali's trajectory but the Xmen/Marvel universe at large. But I still love Ali as she is now too. 

Favorite scene (imma do arc): The "What If" arc of Ali as Galactus' long time herald. The way she found away to discover new planets for him to devour but made sure that they didnt have sentient life that'd be destoryed in that consumption! Ugh says so much about her character!! Also that in her time as his herald he grew compassionate to the plights of other beings, seemingly. Because of her leading by example and what not. It's just soooo good and what I want more of in stories starring her. 🥹

Favorite season/movie (portrayal): My rp days version 😏 --But for real, she's only been in a couple adaptations and I dont know if any do her justice. I havent fully watched the episodes of them in the Outback but yeah

I never know what canon ages truly are but I feel like Ali is less than 10 years his senior and so she's like a big sister and friend to him and it's just really wholesome

In canon-- Ali and Longshot, they've been through so much and if im not mistaken, literally share pieces of eachothers' souls and while things never work out romantically with them in all the times they get back together, I just love the idea of them still being besties regardless

Headcanon:

Gives amazing hugs, doesn't let go till the other person starts to pull away. Read somewhere once about being this way with kids cause you never know how little someone gets of contact and how they might need that physical reassurance.

Unpopular opinion:

Prefacing that to each their own and no hate to other people's preferences 🙏🏽 

Personally I don't wanna see Queen B or Taylor S. portray Dazzler in any future media

While Dazzler had global reach and star power in her prime within the Marvel universe, I just would love others to portray her. My top pick was and always will be Kylie Minogue, but that ship has probs sailed, so more contemporary picks are Janelle Monáe, JoJo, Kesha or Zara Larsson

A wish: She gets to be in some arcs where the writers truly understand her and let her shine fully--iving on top that it happens with an artists that stays true to her strawberry blonde haircolor
