Do you know which of the voice actors knew each other before prsk? I saw someone say that Mizuki’s and Shiho’s went to the same elementary school before or something and was wondering if more of them knew each other before somehow.

Furirin (Airi) and Hiichan (Mizuki) voice characters in Love Live! Sunshine!! who interacted frequently. They had a focus episode and a centre song together. Tomoriru (Kanade) also voices a Love Live character but from a different generation, although all of them performed at Love Live Fest (not together admittedly). Hiichan and Tomoriru also both voice characters in revstar but I don’t know if the characters ever interact or if they’ve done any shows together.

Imai-san (Akito), Daichan (Tsukasa), and Tokishun (Rui) all voice characters in A3!. I don’t know anything about A3 but I remember hearing somewhere that Daichan and Tokishun were also in the same troupe in that game.

Honchan (Shizuku) voices a minor character in BanG Dream!, while Yukki (Shiho) voices a major character from that franchise. However their characters do not interact, so I doubt they ever did.

Ruirui (Mafuyu) and Minoringo (Ena) knew each other for years before both being cast in proseka, though I'm not entirely sure how they knew each other. I know that Minoringo is also good friends with Imai-san but I do not know if they knew each other prior to proseka.

According to the wiki, multiple seiyuu have voice characters in iDOLMASTER. According to the imas wiki, this list gets longer. imas confuses me there's a lot of seiyuu and i don't entirely know how the whole thing works out but here you go.

From Million Live there's Ueshama (Honami) and Komachi (Nene)

From Cinderlla Girls there's Yukki, Minoringo and Ruirui (oh I'm guessing that might be how they knew each other)

and from SideM there's Tokishun and Itoken (Toya)

as far as I'm aware these all predate proseka. Isobe-san (Saki) also voices a character in imas Shiny Colors but again I don't know anything about imas so not sure if she ever would've been given the opportunity to interact with the others.

also apparently there's multiple seiyuu who have done work on Uma Musume.

yeah in other words I don't know who knows each other personally outside Yukki and Hiichan attending the same school I just know who's done voice work in the same media and might've interacted.

i was like. thinking about the software situation with the cryptonloids and i got curious if there was any progress on the non-miku NT banks yet so i went to listen to those vocals they use in that mobile game (if i remember correctly they use beta versions unreleased to the public?) and like. you know. despite how contentious miku nt herself is i think some of the betas for the others sound pretty good, len sounds fantastic and rin sounds about on par with her older banks (although i do miss a bit of her sharpness) and like. i may be killed with hammers for this but i was listening to the heat abnormal cover and i think i like the kaito nt beta sound more than his v3 like he sounds fantastic here. i dont dislike his v3 or anything but the nt bits ive heard has like some of the depth and richness i so sorely miss from his v1 while having the old-yamaha-keyboard-keyboard-key-spring sound that i do enjoy of his v3.... i do wish it had more of the v1 strength tho

same anon - np I was meaning to find those again anyway haha! also I was thinking about this recently too, it's a bit of a shame that the en fanbase is a little distant from the seiyuu, but the approach the game takes is less demanding when it comes to seiyuu content compared to similar series, so I sorta get it (for the sake of the busier ones like reina ueda and tomoriru i'd rather they go with this approach anyway lol). we don't get many english tls of stuff that /does/ exist like streams, after talks and the radio shows either which I imagine doesn't help, but I see korean tls around every now and then which i'll delve into and find some good insights from. it's there but it's just hard to look for sadly...

Yeah I wish more of the EN fandom was invested in the seiyuu content because although it’s very region locked they’re still an important part of the game and tell us cool stuff on the streams. You find the occasional english TL but normally I have to rely on JP/KR subs of the radio shows and streams and then just manually translating them which is. Not the most helpful I barely speak JP and don’t know any KR.

I just wanna say I'm really glad that Riku's asthma is still a major beat in the plot at this point.

Not that I want to see him suffer or anything, but I feel like problems like this often get introduced and then phased out over time in similar anime.

I'm also glad just because in my experience Japan often struggles with understanding chronic medical conditions, especially in young people. (For whatever reason, it's rarer over there.) So it's very relatable to me.

Thinking about how this fictional group is so willing to stand by and accommodate Riku makes my heart break for Tomoriru (Nijigaku's original Setsuna) all over again.

Unfortunately, they are :( Tomoriru has been unable to perform in live shows for a while, turns out she has joint hypermobility that causes severe pain when doing bigger movements during dancing. She's stepping down in April next year, and while it's completely undestandable, it still feels like maybe it could be solved better? I don't know, she's one of Love Live's strongest vocalists, it feels really sad to have to replace her just because she can't dance during live shows. I know the focus of Love Live has switched to doing a lot of live shows recently but still, it doesn't feel right. Also, I just generally really like Tomoriru, she's probably my favourite Nijigaku seiyuu, so I'm obviously just kind of upset.

Also, I'm afraid her replacement seiyuu will get crap and it's the last thing I want. I know the fandom can be extremely shit to the staff (as proven with the whole SIFAS writer fiasco), and while I hope it won't be the case for the seiyuu, I'm not exactly optimistic.

I'm still really reeling from the Tomoriru news I don't feel like it's fully set in.. It's just really heart breaking how Tomoriru had to retire from voicing Setsuna because of things out of her control and I'm glad she didn't keep going despite poor health (it's already amazing that she's gone through so many concerts but also kind of sad) but it's still just. Ugh.

Pre-Broadcast Station commentary

The next Broadcast Station will be held on the 24th, with MCs Imai-san and Minoringo, and guests Itoken and Tomoriru! The guest during the VOCALOID Music SEKAI segement this time will be Misumi.

Looks like back-to-back N25 events I'm afraid. N25 hasn't had their 3rd rotation 4 event yet (WL doesn't count) so they'll probably go first. VBS will probably go after them which lands us a Toya event possibly over the top of his collab lim and just before VBS WL. Wow they are really just asking for money at this point. However that's only if the stream line-up is indicative of next month's events. It's possible we could end up with a L/n event instead of VBS. Right now, I think the most likely events will be Kanade and Toya, or Kanade and Honami (both options are both 3DMVs but we need to balance out the b2b 2DMV that happened back in June).

We'll also be getting news on the upcoming Sanrio collab in this stream! Reminder that Miku, Saki, Airi, Toya, Emu, and Ena will be getting limited 4* cards as part of this collab.
