One of my fan favorites from the old blog, enjoy:

One could look at Emily and assume her life was perfect A nice home, well off family that was well known in California. Naturally blonde hair, a petite little figure and long legs all around a smile that could turn a man to stone. Going to movie premieres, sports events and mingling with LA bigwigs, Emily was never long without something to do. Oh dont get me wrong, Emily never complained. She loved her family, loved her friends, loved her job. She’d never complain for a second. But still something was missing. That’s why Emily found herself where she was, in a taxi outside a new and mysterious club in downtown LA. She stared at the door for a long time before the driver finally asked “Are you gettin out or what?” Emily came back to reality and paid the driver, and stepped out of her car as confidently as she could. What she couldn't sell her blue dress and black heels could. She walked into the club like it was nobody’s business, and was an instant bombshell to the eligible young men at Club T’s. What made her walk into this particular club that night? Well, to understand that, we have to go back a little bit. Emily had a friend named Stephen, and one time not too long ago Stephen did something she couldn’t get out of her head. He tickled her. It wasn’t her first time being tickled, not by a longshot. For some reason, the feeling she got when he finally stopped kept coming back to her head like a drug, needing to come forward again and refusing any lesser pleasure. She had no trouble finding a man to do anything she wanted, but for some reason this one request proved elusive to her charms. After a brief search on the internet, she found out that club T’s was the place to find what she wanted. It wasn’t easy to find out how to get in, the people she was here to see were very secretive. The main club was just like any other club. The music was too loud, the drinks were too expensive and you couldn’t see or move anywhere. After a few minutes of moving around she found the specific corner that housed the VIP section of the club, she said the codeword to the bouncer, and with a smirk he let her in. It was the look a wolf gives a deer after a day without food, and it unsettled her. Inside, the VIP area was another world. The clothes were different, the lights were a bit brighter, and you could hear yourself over the music. The men were dressed in anything from suits to T-shirts while the girls were wearing some pretty revealing clothing, anything that exposed the belly, shorts, mini skirts and few of them wore heels. They wore colored wristbands, green yellow and red. Green was an open invitation, yellow required an ask, and red meant not to approach. Emily had a yellow wristband, fastened around her ankle like the website advised. There was more seating space than at any normal club here, couches and chairs everywhere. The dance floor had some people, but others were chasing each other around the floor, and in a couch by the corner a man had a captive girl in his lap. Her hands were bound and her feet were in his lap. As he grabbed the toe of her sock, her bound hands came up to her face to conceal her smile and she shook her head. He grinned evilly and slowly pulled the sock off, revealing her bare foot. At the edges of the dance floor were a few suspended cages, each with a girl inside and a person outside sticking a feather duster in. Emily asked the bartender “What’s all that about?” A cute redhead in a black corset said “Those girls work here. The customers pay to use the feather dusters for a time. They can also pay to remove clothing or lower the cages. It breaks the ice for the newcomers. Speaking of, is this your first time?” “Why yes” said Emily looking around. “Is this actually for real?” The bartender, whose nametag read “Sam” said “It sure is. I can lock you in that cage if you’re too nervous to get started on your own?” Emily blushed, and suddenly a voice came from behind her that said smoothly “Sam, hasn’t your boss told you not to mess with the new talent? Or do I have to tickle you for your tips again?” Sam blushed now, and backed towards the liquor shelf nervously. Emily asked the tall, suit clad stranger “What?” He said “Oh you haven’t heard? If you find their service in any way lacking, you have to give them the oppurtunity to get their tips tickled back into them. That’s why she wears a corset, her pits are her worst spot.” She hissed “Damon!” So you weren't kidding on the website” Emily asked. “This really is a tickle club.” Damon said “Oh yes, but if you want to see come by when Sam brings my bottle of Dom. She needs a good tickling to earn her tips back after that hiss…” Sam gulped. She’d done it now. Damon slapped down a 20 and said “Whatever the lady likes is on me.” Sam fixed Emily a drink and grabbed a champagne bottle, but Emily hesitated as Sam left. Sam looked over her shoulder and said “You comin? This is what you wanted right?” Emily finished her liquid courage, and followed Sam to a door labelled “Barefoot Room” Upon entering, Sam said “It’s quite literal, no shoes allowed inside.” Sam quickly kicked off her pumps and went inside, and Emily removed her peep toed heels to join her. “You learn quickly Emily” Damon smiled as he smiled at Emilys little feet as she flexed her toes “Im just amazed” Emily replied blushing as she felt Damon's gaze on her toes “Theres nothing to feel scared about Emily" Damon smiled as he took a sip of his drink. “so tell me what brings you here”” Emily took a deep breath, and then she started “It all started when my friend Stephen tickled my feet a few months ago. It felt...well I guess how a normal person feels being tickled. Sure, the laughing was fun but when it was happening I just wanted him to stop after a few seconds...afterwards I couldn’t get it out of my head. I tried forgetting it, distracting myself. Anytime I was alone with my thoughts, I thought of that sensation and how badly I wanted it back. So I found this place...and here I am.” “And here you are.” Damon said. He saw Emily look down nervously and said “Emily, come sit by me.” She came and sat down next to him hesitantly, and drew her feet behind her knees, where Damon couldn’t see them. It was all she could do not to blush. He asked her “Sam needs to be tickled if she wants her tips from me, where should she be tickled?” “Her underarms” Emily replied without hesitation. Sam shut her eyes and raised her arms, beginning to breathe heavily. She begged “Please be gentle.” Damon looked and raised an eyebrow “you answered that quickly for a newbie; I think we may have a little sadist here. Sam, I think we should let your new friend here do the honors” Emily looked nervous again, and said “You want me to tickle her?” Damon nodded silently and said “If you'd prefer I can tickle her. The whole time you watch her suffer knowing that it's coming for you next…” She was up in an instant, and facing Sam directly. Sam felt her breathe and winced, that gave Emily an inexplicable pleasure. She pounced. Emily dug her nails into Sam’s underarms, and Damon smirked as she screamed. Sam was able to hold her arms up for a few seconds, but within 15 seconds they came down reflexively. Sam laughed like crazy but Emily wouldn't let up. Sam tried to turn away, but Emily kept at it, and pulled Sam closer. The punishment became a wrestling match soon as the girls came to the ground, with Emily straddling her hips. Emily leaned forward and pinned the poor bartender’s wrists over her head and blew on her underarms, which drove sam into a mad fit of giggles. She begged “HEHEHEHE Stop teasing!” Emily couldn't tell you why she said this, but she shouted “This is club tease!” Before she could sink her nails back into Sam’s smooth hollows, Emily burst out laughing “HAHAHAHAHA!” And lost her grip. Sam scrambled out from under her, and went to Damon, who was holding Emily’s ankle, with his other hand gently stroking her sole. She giggled gently with each stroke of his hands. He patted Sam on the butt and said “That’s enough sweetie. Call me when you get off work. For now I have some soft, pretty feet to break in.” This comment made Emily blush, and wiggle her baby blue toes. As Sam walked out of the room and grabbed her shoes, Emily looked down, anticipating the tickling. The tickling was slow, methodical. He was really tickling her brain more than her sole. Reminding her that he could do what he want, control her body against her will. He could make her laugh whenever he pleased. All it took was a foot and a finger. He had the finger, and the foot may as well have been a plaything of his. It was in his grasp and she wasn’t getting it out. Emily remained on all fours(or threes, not counting the foot that belonged to Damon at the moment), and giggled when Damon wanted her to, otherwise she just accepted the breaks and caught her breath. Sometimes she would look back at Damon, nearly melting him with that forced smile. Other times she looked away and tried to just take it. During a break, Damon rubbed her sole with his palm and commented “I see you took the website’s advice and got a pedicure. How recently?” Emily giggled “A couple hours ago hehehe.” she heard Damon inhale deeply and felt his lips rub along her sole now. His lips tickled ever so slightly. She giggled “hehehehe are you smelling my foot?” She read many of the men here also had foot fetishes, but never expected to find herself here tonight… He replied “You used a vanilla scented lotion. It’s my favorite.” “EEP!” She squealed, something had pinched the ball of her foot, and one look back at Damon licking his lips told the whole story. Could she really drive him so crazy with just her feet? This could add some fun to the tickling...but before she could finish that thought, her mind commanded her to laugh again. Emily fell flat on her belly as she felt a warm, wet sensation streak across her arch. She turned her head to the side to release peals of laughter, and started pounding the carpet with her fist. If Damon’s finger was mean, his tongue was just cruel. Emily was at once suffering and feeling an indescribable ecstasy. All she could do to cope was laugh, and between breaths beg “Hahahaha! Stahahahahap!” Emily got herself a momentary respite from Damon’s tongue, but only because he needed it to taunt her. His fingers returned to gently stroking her arches as he taunted “Oh you don’t want this to stop. If you did you’d pull your foot away. Look.” Emily flipped over and saw that his hand was open, only cupping her heel. He tickled with all his fingers slowly, and she reflexively pulled back a few inches, then paused. Emily hesitated a few seconds, it tickled so bad but there was just nothing like it. Her foot slowly slid back into his grip, and his hand closed around her ankle. She gasped, what had she done? Damon taunted “See? I knew you liked it!” And he tickled her sole all over again with his fingers, making her laugh even louder, wondering why she gave her foot to him. He lifted her foot up to his mouth, but there was resistance from her tight little dress. Damon lowered her foot and said “Emily, your dress is lovely but if you want to have more fun, it may be best to change.” Emily blushed again and said “I don't have a change of clothes.” Damon began stroking her instep and commented “Not to worry. There is a private changing room in here with spare clothes, better for our activities.” Damon helped her up, and opened a wall panel that led to a cozy changing room. Emily removed her dress and placed it on a hanger, then found a pair of little pink shorts and a white tshirt to put on. The shirt was awfully short, and only came down to her ribs, leaving her midriff vulnerable. The shorts were quite short, revealing her long tanned legs. She emerged a little sheepishly, but Damon gushed over her, making her blush for the umpteenth time tonight. She came up to the couch where he sat and requested “Where do you want me?” She felt his eyes combing every inch of exposed skin, searching for a spot to make her squeal. She felt uneasy, but exhilarated. Damon grabbed her by the hand and sat her on the couch next to him. He draped her legs over his...and once she breathed out he lobster clawed her knees. Emily shrieked, breaking down in helpless laughter as she tried to sit up and reach his hands. After a few moments of squeezing her legs and knees, Damon began to gently scribble his fingertips all along her thighs and up towards her hips. Emily’s laughter went up in pitch as Damon reached her hips and pinched, and he licked his lips looking at that bare midriff. Damon gave Emily a break to catch her breath, and breathing heavily she sighed “hehehe that was fun.” Damon had an evil smirk on his face, she asked him “What is that look for?” Damon said “I’m going to have that cute tummy of yours next. But I’m going to give you a choice, my tongue or my hands?” Emily’s eyes bugged out, and she couldn’t possibly choose between tortures for a moment. She thought about her feet, and his tongue was much worse there. She answered “Hands.” Damon smirked, had she chosen wrong? What was he playing at? She didn’t have time to think any further as ten fingers began wiggling along her midriff, and her tummy exploded with ticklish sensations. She let out a loud belly laugh, and cursed as her hands wanted nothing more than to seize his and make it stop. Despite this desperate need, her mind would not allow them, making them twitch up and down her sides in a comical fashion. The game changed utterly when Damon managed to wiggle a finger into her navel, making Emily scream like a banshee before breaking down in frantic laughter. She tried to get him off of there, but her hands were swatted away by his free hand. This was almost as bad as her toes, or that tongue! Maybe she should have let him use his tongue after all… After a minute or so of her navel being explored and prodded, Emily couldn’t take anymore. Her begs became more desperate, and Damon heard it in her voice. She cried loudly “Uncle! Hahahahahaha! Please! Mercy! Hahahaha!” Damon stopped rather quickly, but Emily didn’t manage to stop giggling for another minute. He rubbed her belly during this time, and at last she recovered. She propped herself up on her elbows saying “That was wicked...I’ve never felt anything like it before.” Damon smirked, and said “I bet not.” Before they could say anything else, a blonde woman and a brunette with golden brown hair came into the room dancing with each other, kicking their shoes off as they entered. They plopped on the couch opposite Damon and Emily. The blonde said “I told you if we danced Damon would get us a snack!” Emily covered her face nervously as she blushed like a teenager, and would have curled into a ball had Damon not held her knees. The brunette asked “Who’s the tickle toy?” Damon said evenly “Girls, this is Emily. Emily, that is Shay, and Blair. Two tickle slaves of mine, who need to remember what happens when they don’t use their manners.” Damon continued “Emily is new, and I think she has had enough for one night. Blair, why don’t you tie Shay’s arms over her head?” They got to work, enjoying themselves and clearly under the influence a bit. Emily asked “So what, just like that we’re done?” Damon smirked and said “For tonight, after I do one quick thing. If you want another session I’ll see to it that you can contact me. Sit tight.” Damon got up and tested Shay’s bonds, who was standing on her tiptoes in the middle of the room, suspended from a chain. Damon produced two more cuffs and said “Your turn Blair.” She giggled as she assumed position for her restraints. Once they were restrained Damon instructed Emily “Give me your sole” holding his hand out. She placed an ankle in his hand, and he produced a pen. He slowly and painstakingly wrote something on Emily’s sole, but she couldn’t tell. All she could do was laugh and scream until he finished. It felt like an eternity of that ball point pen stroking her arches, but it was bliss for her. When he finally finished, he pecked each of her soles goodnight and she left for the evening. She inspected her sole before putting her shoes back on, and it read Damon’s number and address.

horse etiquette because im tired of people fucking shit up:

people dont know fuck shit about horses and it shows

Please for the love of god, stay calm around horses, especially if you have young kids with you. this also goes out to young riders. horses are insanly sensitive and if you're acting all wild and making big moves and loud sounds they're going to get nervous, confused, also excited (sounds fun, is a nightmare if you want to ride) and for lack of better words, its going to make it hard to control the horse. this can lead to dangerous situations i have been in multiple times.

please dont scare the horses for shits and giggles, you're putting the horse, the rider, yourself and the surrounding people in danger. people have died/ gotten severly injured because of shit like this.

dont wave whips around, especially long whips. im personally not a big fan of whips but if you're going to use one please use jumping whips (the small/short ones with the flat tip). i know enough horses that get nervous even seeing whips. remember: you do not know the past of this horse, you dont know how they feel about whips, please be careful (if you do then do what you see best, some horses are completely fine with whips just ask the (previous) owner first)

please wear caps/appropriate helmets, i know movies make it seem s easy and fun to ride without but you're putting your life at risk here.

please dont pull your phone out when your riding. always pay attention to your surroundings and horse, this should be obvious but trust me, i've seen experienced riders do this

wear horse riding shoes! these exist for a reason. im being a bit of a hypocrite here because i ride in sneakers but i have medical reasons and i have been riding since i was 7. you see, the reason you have to wear these shoes is because it has a small flat heel that stops you from slipping through the stirrup. a way to avoid this is to press your heels down but you'll forget to this eventually, it is one of those things that you learn through experience. this happens a lot with little kids and new riders, this is why safety stirrups exist (if you're riding for the first time dont be afraid to ask! most stables have them and its really not that big of an issue! dont be embarrased about it! its okay to be safe!). if you're wondering why its such a big problem if you slip throug the stirrup, let me paint you a scene that has happened way too many times: the horse jumps/ makes a strange movement, you slip through the stirrup, you fall, your foot gets stuck in the stirrup, youre being dragged around the ground by the horse, you're either not hurt at all or you have a broken ankle, concussion, probably some more broken bones and you're sore for the rest of your life

there is a lot of safety equipment for a reason! dont be afraid to ask if you can borrow some of the stable! most stables let you borrow it for free while at some you have to pay.

you probably heard this before but: never walk behind a horse. this is a bit extreme but please take it serious. if there are multiple people around it usually fine but still, extend your hand until you touch their butt from the side, then slowly walk behind the horse while moving the hand with you over the butt. if you walk behind them from a distance its fine, just make sure they cant reach you with their hoofs.

dont underestamate (shetland)ponies, trust me, everything that is small is the devil. i have some nasty memories from shetland ponies (rip my ass, got a hard kick there when i was 9 lmao). ponies exist to make your life a living hell and thats why we love them.

if you're giving treats, keep your hands flat, this way accident wont happen. trust me the horse doesnt want you fingers.

please ride with a saddle and make sure its checked by someone in charge, should be self explanatory

They FaceTime once, in early August, while Bianca’s at an airport somewhere in Europe, and Adore’s shitfaced in Seattle.

She’s home after a local show, still in full makeup, but she’s pulled her wig off and her own hair is piled up at the top of her head in a messy approximation of a bun. Her phone keeps flashing on every couple of minutes, lighting up with various notifications.

Adore mutters “No, you don’t,” to herself as she situates herself in the middle of her bed. Last night’s bowl is still half-packed at the sill of her open window, and she thanks past-Adore for being so considerate as she picks it up and takes a hit.

And then she remembers Bianca can’t actually hear her.

Adore props her phone on her nightstand, and tilts the small reading lamp so it hits her face from the right angle. She’s wearing very light sea green contacts, and she knows for a fact her eyes look stunning.

The connection takes a moment and then the black screen lights up to reveal Roy who looks like a parody of an airplane traveller. He’s clearly exhausted and bleary-eyed under the rim of his baseball cap, and he’s wearing a plush fuchsia pink travel pillow around his neck like a goddamn statement piece.

Adore lets out a delighted laugh, and then goes,

“You look horrible.”

“It’s good to see you too,” Roy laughs, giving his camera a long look. “Isn’t it, like, way past your bedtime?”

“Has anyone ever told you you use emoji like a thirteen year old girl with a secret Instagram account?” Adore fires back.

“Are you calling me old?” Roy asks, feigning offense well enough that it makes Adore break and she shoots the camera a shit-eating grin as she nods and lights up her bowl again.

“Call me old one more time and I’ll buy a house somewhere in central Europe, take up farming, and never fucking come back,” Roy threatens lightly.

“No one would miss you here,” Adore says, perhaps a second too late to be funny.

Roy doesn’t answer, which is fine. Adore is usually obsessed with filling silences, like it’s her personal responsibility to make sure everyone’s constantly entertained. Roy’s an exception.

They’ve been silent around each other enough that it hasn’t felt awkward in years.

“How’s Europe?” she asks eventually.

“Fun. Loud. Really fucking hot,“ Roy shrugs. He reaches up and presses his thumb against the bridge of his nose before rubbing along the outline of his eye socket. It’s rare and unsettling to see him that quiet and clearly drained.

Adore smokes and watches him as she contemplates how okay it’d be to say what’s actually on her mind.

“Hey, Bea?” she says quietly, as she shifts to lie down on her stomach.

“Yeah?”

“You look really tired. But um— I hope you’re just tired? Europe’s not making you, like, sad, is it?” Adore trails off for a second and presses her eyes shut as she refocuses. “That’s dumb. I mean. A continent can’t make you sad, right? I don’t know—“

“I’m fine,” Roy says and his face lights up with a small, fond smile which makes him look more like himself. “How are you doing? You look—“

“Fucking wasted?” Adore supplies. She aims for a joke but it just kind of comes out tired and flat. Plus, selling Roy the whole act is kind of pointless. “Yeah. I had a weird night, I don’t know. The whole album thing is fucking stressing me out.”

“People are gonna love it,” Roy says quickly, earnestly. He seems more awake. “They’re gonna eat that shit up.”

“You’re supposed to say that ‘cause you love me,” Adore whines jokingly, but then he just shrugs and nods in agreement, which makes her soften. “Thanks. Honestly. It’s just so— people wanna hear the old shit, you know? And the new stuff’s so different, I just— what if they don’t wanna hear it?”

“They keep asking for the old stuff ‘cause they haven’t heard your new stuff,” Roy reasons. He’s holding his headphones’ microphone close to his lips and it sort of feels like he’s in the room and talking directly to her if she closes her eyes.

“You’re right. Thanks, Bea,” she sighs, and then bites her lip as she adds softly, “I miss you.”

“Come to Europe,” Roy laughs a little. He can always recognize when she’s on the brink of some sad spiral and can usually pull her right back out. Adore opens her eyes to watch him laugh at the camera.

It’s impossible not to smile back.

“Right, are you gonna fly me out?” she laughs, making a show of pursing her lips at the camera.

“You wish,” Roy grins, and then his eyes drift over to something out of frame. Some sort of airport announcement comes through the speaker of Adore’s phone, entirely too far away and jumbled to be understandable.

“Hey, listen, I gotta go,” Roy says. “I might finally get to make it to a plane.”

“Awesome, fly safe,” Adore nods, scrunching up her nose as she fights off a yawn.

“You get some rest,” Roy adds. “This was fun, let’s—“

“More often. Yeah. I’ll call you.”

Adore smiles, and they say their goodbyes and hang up.

And then they don’t talk again for weeks.

The morning after the last FaceTime call, Adore had woken up with a screenshot of her own bank account, and a bunch of screenshots of various potential flights on her phone. Looking at them (and maybe the hangover) had made her sick, and she’d deleted them with her eyes half closed.

Adore’s impulsive, sure.

It’d been days, maybe weeks, after the call when an ad had popped up on her Instagram feed, quite aggressively advertising Bianca’s upcoming gig on Fire Island.

New York is, in comparison to central Europe, closer.

Closer, easier to get to, slightly more reasonable.

So Adore had called her manager and said she’d do that one interview she had scheduled over the phone, and that she was going to be out of town for a few days. Her manager wasn’t impressed, but it was just a weekend, and she’d already made up her mind.

She doesn’t really call or let anyone else know she’s going.

When she walks into the club, the security guard gives her and her ID a long, curious look, but other than that, it’s dark enough that no one really notices or pays attention to her.

She’s wearing a Bianca t-shirt she’s mercilessly cut up into a douchey tank top tucked into a short, faux leather mini skirt with an unnecessarily chunky zipper in the front. Underneath the tank top, she’s in a lacy black bandeau that only draws attention to the boy chest, which is the exact effect she’s aiming for. The tight fishnet covering her legs culminates in heeled combat boots. Her hair is long and black and just messy enough that from afar, she looks like she could be just another girl here for the show.

It’s great, and she feels kind of incognito, even though she’s not necessarily trying to hide. She’s just not here to put on a show, either.

When she gets a drink, the bartender shoots her a knowing grin and says this one’s on the house, she only smiles back and thanks him and doesn’t argue. There’s being lowkey, and then there’s just being plain stupid.

The club is already pretty full, and it’s crowded by the time Bianca takes the stage to host.

Adore doesn’t quite care for the actual event and she lets herself be distracted watching her even when she’s off to the side, and clearly not supposed to be pulling the focus.

It’s impossible for Bianca not to pull focus. In a bodycon dress that somehow manages to be both leopard and floral and still be incredible, she looks like every wet dream Adore’s ever had. Bianca’s focused and attentive, she watches each performance and laughs along, and her lips are so shiny, and her eyes are so bright, and Adore is so tempted to make her way over to the stage and pull her off now, like she can’t wait another minute.

But the reality is, she’s waited this long and now that she’s here, Adore wants to do this right. So she sits back, accepts a couple more drinks from the bartender, and lives out her groupie fantasy, screaming and howling with laugher as if she’s just there to prove she can be louder than everyone else in the club.

At the end of the show, Bianca performs a number and the crowd goes wild, and Adore wants to be cheering with them, except she’s transfixed, breathless as she watches Bianca in her element.

“It never fucking gets old,” Adore yells at the bartender once Bianca’s left the stage. Her ears are ringing.

“She’s great,” he agrees, sliding another refill across the bar for her.

“She’s the best,” Adore corrects. “Can you send her a large gin backstage? Tell her it’s from a fan who claims to know her.

The bartender laughs and fixes a drink, and Adore, who’s only human, watches the sway of his hips as he walks through an unmarked door behind the bar which presumably leads backstage.

When Bianca comes out (from a different door, off to the side), she scans the club past the faces of people who notice her and either try to flock to her, or take a few steps back in some sort of classical awe. She glances around with a look Adore has come to realize means she’s expecting to see an acquaintance who’s dropped her name in hopes for a drink and a catchup.

Then, Bianca notices her and her entire face shifts.

Adore watches her face go from a public, performative smile through shock, through defeat, all the way to blossoming into a genuine smile within a split second. Bianca mouths something in her direction and heads over, and Adore’s heart is pounding so hard in her chest that it makes her cough.

Then, Bianca’s in front of her and pulling her into a hug, and saying into her ear,

“You motherfucker.”

Adore laughs loudly, pulling back just enough to catch Bianca’s eyes and grin at her.

“You absolute motherfucker,” Bianca repeats. “You could’ve called—“

“I wanted to surprise you,” Adore shrugs, as if it’s that simple, and Bianca softens.

“Well, I am surprised,” she laughs. Her hands are still around Adore’s waist and she’s becoming more aware of that by the second. “But I left my drink in the dressing room so we’re gonna have to continue being surprised there.”

Adore just nods. She picks up her glass and follows Bianca through the crowd. When Bianca reaches back, she slips her hand in hers, and hopes the club is just dark and confusing enough that no one would see.

“I can’t believe you just pulled this shit,” Bianca says as they walk into the dressing room, which is cool and only illuminated by the lightbulbs that line the mirror.

She closes her eyes for a split second and Adore watches her stage poise and energy leave her body like air from a recently popped balloon.

“I wanted to see your face,” Adore shrugs, and squeezes her hand as she brings herself closer. “Plus, it’s been a while since I’ve watched you—“

“Tonight wasn’t that good,” Bianca says quietly. “It’s not even technically my show…“

Adore bites her lip, and takes a sip of her drink as she says,

“I wasn’t gonna push but— are you okay? I mean, you seem—“

“I’m okay,”

Bianca pulls her hand away from Adore’s and walks around to sit down on the makeup chair, her back turned to the room. Adore just kind of stands there, swallowing uneasily once they break contact. Bianca is never like this, and witnessing it is terrifying, and Adore’s chest is tight as she attempts to figure out how she’d help the most.

“I just feel like I’ve been away for so long, you know?” Bianca says suddenly. Her voice is barely audible over the dull, unrecognizable bass that filters through the walls. “I’m not even sure if I’m away from— This summer’s just going by so fast. I feel like I’m always catching up with people. Like, tonight, when I stepped out—“

“You looked fucking terrified,” Adore supplies. She’s taken one cautious step towards Bianca’s chair and is hovering there.

“‘cause I was,” Bianca agrees, and it comes out in a shaky laugh. “Fuck, Adore, I was so worried I was gonna have to sit down and have a chat with some local queen I haven’t seen in years and make it look like I’m having the time of my life, you know?”

“Yeah. I know.”

Years of sharing dressing rooms have taught Adore that usually, Bianca would be out of all of her drag by this point. Now, she’s just sitting there, her eyes distant as she looks into the mirror but not really at herself.

Adore sighs and walks the rest of the distance to the makeup table, planting herself directly behind the chair. She drapes her arms over Bianca’s shoulders and crosses her wrists at her chest. Bianca’s hand comes up to cover her wrist, pressing down just a little, as if she’s afraid Adore might pull back.

Bianca’s nails are a dark shade of greenish gold and they glitter as they catch the mirror light. Adore wants to tell her she’s never looked more beautiful.

“It just gets kinda lonely,” Bianca says, quiet enough that Adore isn’t sure if it’s for her at all. She doesn’t answer.

Instead, she moves her hand just a little underneath Bianca’s, so she can run her thumb along the side of Bianca’s hand. Bianca sighs and closes her eyes again. Her eyelashes cast long shadows down her cheeks.

Adore doesn’t move, just lets Bianca breathe and take in the physical weight of her presence, lets her be quiet until she seems a little bit more grounded. Adore can feel it under her arms when Bianca exhales a long breath and her shoulders relax.

“Well, I’m here now,” Adore says finally, quiet and intimate, and it feels like dipping one toe in cool water.

She hasn’t planned this far in advance, never knows quite where they stand when they’ve been away from each other for so long, only knows that she’s here, and she’s here for Bianca, in whatever capacity Bianca needs her to be.

“Yeah— motherfucker,” Bianca repeats softly, in an almost-laugh. “You’re here.”

Then, she makes the choice for Adore.

Bianca pushes the chair back and stands up, turning around to face Adore in one swift, decisive motion. Adore catches her eyes and when Bianca tilts her chin down in the slightest of nods, it’s enough.

Adore launches herself forward, resting a gentle hand at the curve of Bianca’s neck as she kisses her with all the intent of an innocent death row inmate who’s been granted one last wish. Bianca responds almost immediately, her hands coming to rest at the small of Adore’s back. Adore (who, again, is only human) rolls her hips into the touch, which gets a noise halfway between a groan and a laugh from Bianca. It sounds more like her than anything Adore’s heard from her so far tonight.

“Missed you,” Bianca whispers once she pulls back. Up close, her eyes are so incredibly bright.

“I’m here.”

“You are.”

They exchange reassurances in a terribly familiar rhythm, and something in Adore’s chest twists a little. It must show on her face because Bianca says “Shhh” even though she’s silent, and is then she’s kissing her again.

This one lasts longer. Bianca licks her way past Adore’s dark plum lips and all Adore can do is respond in small, breathless sounds as she drops one hand down to grip the table behind Bianca, essentially trapping Bianca between herself and the tabletop.

A bunch of lipsticks fall down and maybe something rolls off the table, and Adore lets out a careless laugh into Bianca’s mouth. Her world feels lighter than it has in months. She doesn’t want to think about it at all.

Bianca distracts her, luckily, as she drops her hands past her ass to brush her fingers under Adore’s skirt. Underneath the thin layer of fishnet, Adore’s — unsurprisingly — untucked and wearing the tiniest briefs which leave most of her ass bare. Upon making that discovery for herself, Bianca lets out a laugh which is both appreciation and utter defeat.

“You’re gonna be the death of me, Adore Delano,” she hums, pulling back to draw in a very deep breath.

It’s overdramatic but earnest and Adore feels so fucking wanted.

“I dress to impress,” she says sweetly.

“Jesus,” Bianca whispers, and her exasperated smile reaches all the way to her eyes. “Shut up.”

Adore laughs loudly, and it comes from deep in her chest. This is easier than anything else she’s done in so long. She knows Bianca feels the exact same way because she’s still laughing as she kisses her again.

By the time Bianca pulls back again, Adore’s hard and dizzy and the only coherent thought in her head is a vague curiosity about whether the door to the dressing room locks.

“Where are you staying?” Bianca is asking quietly. The outline of her lipliner has blurred and her eyes are dark and bearing so much promise it makes Adore’s head spin.

She grins in response.

She has one bag — a way too expensive designer carryon — that she’d dropped at a friend’s apartment before explaining that no, she didn’t need a place to crash, just storage room, thanks, I’ll see you tomorrow.

She hadn’t bothered with a plan B.

“You bitch,” Bianca laughs fondly. “Yeah. Come on.”

Bianca’s hotel room is tiny and taken over almost entirely by the bed in the center. There’s a suitcase half-open in one corner. The lights are off, and the room is instead illuminated by the pale orange glow of street lamps filtering through the (truly hideous) cream tulle curtains.

Adore’s head is swimming. She lets herself fall back onto the mattress, laughing breathlessly as she props herself up on her elbows to look at Bianca who pauses a few steps away to kick off her heels.

“Hold on—“ Bianca starts, heading over to the small table in front of the mirror.

“No, no, no,” Adore says quickly. “No time. Come here—“

Bianca laughs as she stretches to pull the zipper of her own dress down.

“Fine. Just this, then,” she negotiates and Adore nods, and falls silent as she watches her strip and unclip her wig to pull it off.

It’s rare for Bianca to stay in drag when they hook up, but de-dragging takes too long, and Adore is too turned on to survive waiting for her any longer than she absolutely has to.

Plus,

“That’s cute,” Bianca comments, her lips almost brushing the thin strip of leather. Adore’s wearing a simple one-ring choker, and her face turns a deep shade of pink the second Bianca decides to acknowledge it.

“Told you,” she smirks, and manages to school her voice into an almost challenging singsong. “I dress to impress.”

“Stop talking,” Bianca replies lowly, hooking a finger through the ring to tug Adore up as she kisses her again. Adore’s eyes fall shut and she gasps helplessly into the kiss, and then all she can do is part her lips for Bianca’s tongue.

Adore’s limbs feel heavy, inoperable, and she thinks distractedly that maybe that’s not too big of a deal, maybe she can just be there for the rest of her natural existence and she would be okay with that.

Then Bianca moves. She pulls herself away slowly, carefully, like she doesn’t mean to disturb, and Adore still winces at the loss.

“Gotta get you cleaned up,” Bianca says softly. Her voice sounds raw, spent, and Adore finds herself hoping it’s still like that tomorrow. She wants people to talk to Bianca and know.

The sound of the bathroom sink running and Bianca’s footsteps sound so far away and Adore closes her eyes, lets them lull her into a half-sleep as her body cools down and stops shaking.

Minutes later, perhaps, Bianca returns with a warm, damp towel, and Adore breathes steadily as she cleans her up, too tired and too gone to do much but accept it. Then it’s more footsteps, to the bathroom and back.

Then, Bianca’s hands are working her boots open and pulling them off, along with the mess of fabric tangled around her ankles. It feels private in a new sort of way, as if this is where the moment would usually have to break but Bianca’s not letting that happen. Adore’s chest tightens and she lets out the smallest noise as she swallows dryly.

“You okay?” Bianca asks, all gentle attentiveness, as she climbs up and rests behind her, one arm coming to drape over Adore’s hips, her hand angled up to rest at her sternum.

“Yeah.” Adore’s throat scratches, and she knows she’ll wake up needing water. Bianca makes a sound like she doesn’t quite believe her, so Adore amends, “I’m here.”

Bianca laughs. It’s almost inaudible but Adore feels it against her back.

“Yeah,” Bianca whispers. She presses her lips against Adore’s shoulder and holds them there for a long time. “You are.”

These juttis don’t bite, says The Cinderella Story founder Sabista Khan

According to 27-year-old jutti designer Sabista Khan, one of the main reasons people hesitate to wear juttis is the shoe bites.

“I call these people the non-believers,” she says, “and it took me a very long time to work with my karigars to come up with leather that isn’t really hard. We pre-print our juttis, following by an oiling and sun-drying process way before we sell them for the sake of customers’ comfort. Unlike many brands out there, we have a leather that is very soft to the touch, avoiding rough friction. Nine out of 10 people tell me my juttis don’t bite.”

Originally from Mumbai, Sabista started her brand The Cinderella Story (TCS) in Hyderabad after getting married, and she quickly picked up celebrity clientèle including Soha Ali Khan, Samantha Akkineni and Neha Sharma.

As the weather warms up, Sabista offers up a quick jutti guide and also turns some common misconceptions away.

Tips and tricks

Colour choice “If you’re styling juttis with a western outfit, go for a lot of threadwork. If you go for something pearl or diamond-heavy or sequins, it obviously becomes very heavy. We also have printed juttis which pair well. At the moment we are developing ‘sneaker juttis’ which lace up; these work well with summer dresses.

Go with fun or pastel colours, rather than deep reds or greens which are traditional. Stylists are also taking note of this. We worked on Rhea Kapoor and Masaba Gupta’s collaboration where a pair of our casual pastel pink Notty And Nice juttis were used with a vibrant Indo-Western ensemble, and it worked very well.”

Go for oddities “Quirky juttis with fun motifs are a good idea too. We have some with filled up beer jugs and ones with sailboats on them. The beer ones were popular for the New Year’s time because a lot of girls wanted to avoid heels. We’ll be launching them officially at the upcoming Label Bazaar though.”

Myth-busting

‘Juttis are not sustainable’ “It completely depends on how you’re wearing them. In my opinion, they are quite sustainable and if you’re taking care of them right, they will last a long time. In historical films Kesari, Parineeti Chopra wore juttis; these costumes are true to the time period, people back then wore them because they’re terrain-proof and comfortable. That said, make sure you buy juttis made from durable and soft leather. Embroidered juttis aren’t as durable so be mindful. We provide a care card for customers, advising customers on how to tighten or loosen them, for fit.”

‘Juttis are just for girly girls’ “No! Once again, it depends. Yes, most juttis out there have a more feminine aesthetic, but there are juttis for men too. Recently more people have opted for juttis over sneakers for comfort.”

‘They are only for people with slim feet’ “I have a Patan lineage where we have very big bones so my feet are very wide. It was a design dilemma I faced when starting my line. I did not want to make dainty juttis only to leave out people like me! People have approached me and said, ‘no, this won’t fit me’ but when they try it on, they actually mould to fit the natural contours of their feet, without waiting to break it in. Some people have bought 20 pairs in one shot because they really appreciated the inclusivity. Our size range has also grown and we are launching those in about four to six months.”

Sabista adds that TCS juttis also have double cushioning to help with arch support, so that one does not feel that they are walking in complete flats. That said, Sabista has proudly converted many people to become pro-jutti!

What to Wear With Leggings & 20 Style Tips on How to Wear Them

Leggings Style Guide

Leggings are one of the most comfortable items you can wear, but this go-to wardrobe staple has its detractors. It can be challenging to decipher at times how to wear leggings and what to wear with leggings. I love leggings, and I’m here to help you style this much-loved staple into stylish leggings outfits for fall, winter, and spring.

Leggings have been around for centuries; they have been made of various materials and used for different purposes. They have been adapted, updated, and transformed into a closet staple and are still holding steady. They may change material and colors from season to season, but you can wear classic black leggings every year.

So if you have been hesitant to try leggings, criticized for wearing leggings, or want to update your style for cooler weather, make sure you read this entire post. I’ll show you what to wear with leggings so you can put together cute leggings outfits that will take you almost anywhere you want to go.

What Are Leggings?

Before we get into what to wear with leggings, I want to clarify what I mean by leggings. I am not referring to workout leggings that you’re trying to pass off as everyday casual wear. The leggings I am talking about in this style guide are the black, sometimes black leather, or dark gray leggings that end at the ankle. These leggings are made from thicker fabric and do not extend to cover your feet.

In other blog posts, leggings are also sometimes confused with tights. Tights go from your waist to your toes and come in absolute opaque, opaque, and sheer. Tights are also more commonly worn in crazy colors, prints, and textures.

Shopping for Women’s Leggings

When shopping for leggings look for dressy leggings made of thick material, you don’t want anything that is see-through. Make sure they are soft, so they are comfortable to wear. They need to be form-fitting, so they flatter your legs and hold you together. If you purchase leggings that are too thin, you run the risk of feeling unsupported, and in turn, you will feel very uncomfortable.

Lastly, a great legging is versatile and can be worn to work, a dressy night out, or for a casual weekend with a long cardigan or tunic. Good quality leggings might cost more and you might see it as an investment but they are worth it if they fit you correctly and you can wear them for various occasions throughout the year.

Most of the time I prefer black leggings, a black legging is what I wear most of the time and what I would invest in adding to my wardrobe. Don’t drop more than $100 on leggings that you don’t know how often you will wear or that are not classic black. They are not worth it.

I own a pair of black leggings that I love, and they were only $50 from LOFT. They are the Leggings In Ponte, as of writing this they have 179 reviews with an average of 4.7 stars! Worth the price! If you want to try on a variety of leggings in one stop, I recommend going to Nordstrom.

My last shopping tip, make sure you try them on! I know it, ugh! I have to go to the store, select a handful of leggings, go to the fitting room, try each of them on! So much work, blah, blah, blah. I hear it all the time, I’ll just buy them and try them on at home, and if I don’t like them I’ll return them. NO! That never happens, you end of wasting money and with no black leggings. Try them on at the store, ask for shopping assistance! The Nordstrom department assistants are more than happy to help you put together outfits. They help you see what works and what doesn’t and what to wear with leggings.

How to Wear Leggings

I want to review some of the Do’s when it comes to wearing leggings. These style tips are general tips to follow. Sometimes when the outfit looks very nice, these style tips can be broken. (As you’ll see in the winter leggings outfits example below). Use these as guidelines; they are meant to help you decide on the types of leggings to wear, and how to wear them, so you look and feel your best.

Again, these are style tips that I use because I always want to look stylish you don’t HAVE to follow them, but it’s advisable.

1. DO wear proper-fitting leggings 2. DO stick to dark colored leggings. 3. DO stick to solid colors. 4. DO keep it classy, not sexy—unless you are going for sexy, of course. (Read this post on how to dress classy) 5. DO wear long tops or sweaters that cover your derriere. 6. DO wear the right underwear with leggings. 7. DO layer your tops to achieve balance. 8. DO wear leggings with the right shoes. 9. DO make sure your leggings are the right length. 10. DO make sure they are comfortable!

How Not to Wear Leggings

Along with the Do’s, there are Dont’s. These are the things you should avoid when wearing leggings. Again, these are some general guidelines.

11. DON’T wear crazy patterned leggings. 12. DON’T wear bright neon-colored leggings. 13. DON’T wear shiny spandex leggings 14. DON’T wear faded leggings, in any color. 15. DON’T wear leggings that are too loose or stretched out. 16. DON’T wear leggings that are too thin or see-through. 17. DON’T wear leggings to the office unless you dress them up. 18. DON’T wear leggings with holes, rips, or loose seams. 19. DON’T wear leggings with only a tight top 20. DON’T ever wear white leggings unless you’re wearing a long shirt, tunic or dress with them.

Above all, make sure you feel comfortable in leggings, or don’t wear them at all. Confidence is key!

What to Wear With Leggings

Now that you know what leggings are, the best leggings to shop, and some leggings style tips let’s review several stylish ways you can wear leggings.

Besides being comfortable, leggings are pretty versatile. You can wear leggings with a long tunic in the spring, with a cardigan for the fall and a coat for the winter. Switch up the shoes you wear with leggings from flats to heels and they go from casual to dressy. Let’s go over what shirts, sweaters, dresses, and shoes to wear with leggings.

Shirts to Wear With Leggings

The best shirts to wear with leggings are long ones. They cover your behind and make your outfit a little more presentable and elegant. Like mentioned in the style tips above, avoid shirts that are too tight, too short, or too sexy.

A button down, slightly longer shirt is an excellent example of a shirt you can pair with leggings to create a cute outfit for spring. Like the polka dot shirt, I’m wearing in the outfit below.

In the springtime, the best shirts to wear with leggings are light flowy shirts. They create a great balance between the form-fitting leggings and a lightweight shirt. (Do you want to learn more about what I mean by “balance” read How to Look Stylish Everyday – Your 5 Step Checklist). Look for long shirts made from silk, 100% polyester, or rayon fabrics. Also, since most likely you are wearing black leggings, add color, patterns, and dimension to your leggings outfit with the shirt! Have fun and pair your leggings with a with paisley, floral, striped or polka dot shirt.

For a dressy or business casual outfit wear a long shirt with black leggings. This is an example of a slightly long shirt you can wear with leggings. The black polka dots add some pattern and fun to this leggings outfit. I added a thick black belt to accentuate my waist because the shirt was too loose and flowy without the belt. A pair or burgundy pumps and forest green bag complete this outfit. This is an example of how you can dress up a pair of leggings to look chic.

For casual days or a road trip, you could wear leggings with a chambray shirt, and a comfortable boyfriend tee. Complete this casual leggings outfit with a pair of flats, booties or boots, and you are good to go. This combination is my preferred outfit for looking stylish on a road trip. Leggings are the most comfortable and stylish option for long hours of sitting. The layers allow me to peel off or add to, depending on the temperature in the car or outside.

Another popular combination is pairing a tunic with leggings. I don’t prefer this combination for me because it looks bulky and the tunic just takes over the outfit. I’ve seen plenty of tunic and leggings outfits and most of the time they look sloppy and too big. It might be because the tunic ends at mid-thigh, which is the thickest part of your leg, so the tunic only accentuates that.

Long Sweaters to Wear with Leggings

Long sweaters and leggings are one of my favorite combinations! This is not only an easy outfit combination but a stylish one too! Pair your black leggings with a gray, white, colored or even off white patterned cardigan like in the outfit example below.

A few style tips to keep in mind when putting together this outfit combination. For the shirt you wear under your long sweater have fun and play with colors and patterns. Since you are adding a long sweater over your shirt, you can wear a form fitting or shorter shirt. You don’t want the shirt you wear under your sweater be the same length as your sweater, that will look too bulky and out of balance. Wear a shirt that is shorter, maybe ending at your hips or slightly higher.

When pairing your leggings with a long sweater wear a simple shirt, meaning no button downs or anything with too much texture. The simplicity of the style of the shirt keeps your leggings outfit from being too much or too bulky. Think clean lines and correct proportions.

Pairing leggings with an oversized cardigan and high boots are classic for fall, not to mention warm and comfy. The bulk of the sweater offsets the narrowness of the leggings. I opted for a patterned cardigan that brought the eye up and paired it with a mustard tee to add a splash of color. This outfit is stylish, cozy, and my favorite way to wear leggings in the colder months.

Dress with Leggings

A dress with leggings is very different from a dress with tights. I love pairing a dress with tights in the fall and winter. Just imagine, a forest green sweater dress with black tights and knee boots. I love it!! But I don’t wear a dress with leggings.

Remember the distinction I made above between tights and leggings; they are different. If you are considering wearing leggings with a dress, depending on the entire outfit and the occasion I would recommend to switch them out for tights and see what you think.

Shoes to Wear With Leggings

Leggings are, first and foremost, casual wear, so that means that you can stick to more casual shoe options: flats, sneakers, converse, low ankle boots and the like.

In the spring, a beautiful flat is a good casual option to wear with leggings. The falts can be a point or round toe, embellished or patterned (gotta love a good leopard print!). But do not wear flats that have an ankle strap or multiple straps that wind up the ankle. The strap will wrap around the end of your leggings creating a weird, clumsy look.

Boots and booties pair perfectly with leggings for cold weather, rain, and snow. The boots you wear with leggings can be flat, wedged, or heeled. If you are going to the snow, you can wear snow boots with your leggings outfit. And as you can see in the outfit example in this post, you can wear black leggings with brown boots!

If you need to dress up your leggings pair them with heels! A leggings outfit for a night out or work call for pumps. Black pointy toe black heels work for both day and night and create a classic outfit.

Best Leggings for Work

As you can guess by now the best leggings for work, are high quality, thick black ones! I know, you’re probably thinking enough with the black tights I get it, but especially under this topic, I should reiterate it one last time. Black leggings are the best leggings for work!

A solid black pair of high-quality leggings can mimic a skinny pant and be appropriate for work with the right fitted blazer. In this outfit, I kept a black-and-white theme. I paired black leggings with a white blazer and a large white scarf. This is an example of a no-nonsense outfit; I kept it classy and stylish to make it work appropriate.

Pairing your leggings with a button-down is one of the simplest ways to pull them off. This look can go casual or slightly dressy, depending on the shirt, shoes, and accessories. Make sure that the shirt is long enough to cover your behind, and you can belt it to keep your shape as I did in this photo. Since a button-down is a classic shirt, keep the leggings classic as well and stick with black, chocolate brown or a dark navy, especially if you are wearing them to work.

When putting together a leggings outfit for work your shirt can be solid in a light color, or you can go with a print like this black-and-white polka dot. Note: If you are going to wear a patterned blouse, make sure that it’s a subtle and classic pattern that matches the outfit. You could also opt to wear a long-sleeve printed button-down shirt with your leggings and add a blazer and pumps for a stylish work outfit.
