Was just thinking about the amount of animals Obi-Wan interacts with compared to literally everyone else and in the Clone Wars episode where Kamino gets attacked he literally gets saved twice by the same ray-like animal and just...

The growth from judging Qui-Gon for the 'pathetic lifeforms' he picks up to whatever he has going on during the Clone Wars era. He must have gotten that from Qui-Gon though, right?

And because it's my brain and it's rotting with all the star wars stuff I am consuming I was thinking of Obi-Wan saving all these creatures and the 212th having to deal with that. Surely they made one of the rooms pet proof in case one of them needs a new home. There also have to be clones who love that because of course Obi-Wan can't really take care of rescues on top of all his duties.

After the first few times this happens Cody learns to order animal food and other necessities. And if the Republic doesn't fulfill these requests or asks too many questions he'll just have to make sure to organize them on planet during the campaigns.

I understand people love giving Steve and/or Eddie a dog or a cat and that's super sweet but... Guys. I hate this but Steve and Eddie are Bird and Reptile people.

They would come by owning a bird totally by accident because "they don't have time for pets," "they make the house messy/harder to clean," "we travel too much" etc etc. But then they would just become OBSESSED with rescuing birds.

Eddie loves the exotics and teaches them to sing and say the dirtiest things. While Steve adored finches and little birds like that.

Eddie would also 1000% have an Iguana or a Tengu and walk it around on a leash like a fucking nerd.

You'd come over and they'd each have at least one bird on their shoulder.

They're bird people.

(I also recently realized they made the bees cost like 50 saps. not even gems anymore?? Bees were such a cute starting pet for new players since they were so affordable... come on man.)

I ain't buying a goofy cosmetic for 3 bucks... also that display case bundle REEKS! It only gives you 1 set of the display cases??

For 5 bucks you could instead buy 250 sapps and get a den bundle... which has WAY more den items! Not that I would actually buy the 250 saps, but I'm just saying you'd get much more value out of it.

Premium shop just stinks in general, I guess the starting bundle and animal sets are kinda decent? but still.

if they make yearly 1000 sap epic bundle or whatever cost real money I will lose it 🥹

it's always good to foster empathy for animals and I think that there are so many creatures that are far more similar to humans than we give them credit for (or perhaps more accurately that humans are not as special as we make ourselves out to be) but anthropomorphism can truly be so dangerous... it's important to remember that humans are Also animals, but other animals are, obviously, Not humans and we lack an ability to communicate with them fully. trying to shove human emotions onto them hurts conservation more than it helps it. you can never actually know what an animal is feeling or what potential feelings mean to an animal. we can Guess, but broad and vague descriptors of behavior are always better than assigning human emotions that can have dangerous implications. a shark is not "angry", it is acting aggressively towards something, a lion is not a cold blooded killer, it is hunting for food. once you try to give animals morals or try to moralize their actions you enter very dangerous territory, especially if you're just like. a random person on the internet and not a scientist that studies animal behavior

P2: they didn't! quail are wild animals and they didn't keep them Me: did anyone inform 11th Century China they weren't supposed to keep and breed quail? Or 12th Century Japan, who bred and competed them as song birds with benefits. What about the ancient Egyptians... and not sure what bird they were eating the Bible - better double check that quail are kosher. Also those pesky Victorians, can't keep their paws off keeping and breeding every single animal known to man.

The relationship of affection you can have with domestic animals is outstanding and amazing, but truly it is also something to manage to gain the trust of a creature that will never love you truly but still trusts that large predator enough to slither, crawl on them and be interested in their buisness

there was a hawkfish at the store I pet store I worked at that had been there for 5+ years and the head of the department and I were having a conversation about how glibly people will speak about the fish that have died in their care (it was so common to have a parent come in and "replace" all the pleco's because they messed up while cleaning the tank and the kids due home from school in a few hours) and what kind of policy we could potentially have to educate and curb the idea that we would just keep supplying new fish when there was clearly a lack of willingness to change behaviors (like the same people would come in over and over and laugh about "accidentally" killing another beta fish and it's like maybe don't say that so loudly and unashamedly in the place you're coming to get another one) anyway the guy pointed to the hawkfish and reminded me that the fish was smarter than any of the other pets in the store but because we couldn't hear it speak we didn't honor it's intelligence and i just think about fish and their lives a lot differently after that

look i know nobody likes that “well actually animals only do this when they’re dying” guy but i do think you should have to learn the absolute bare minimum of companion animal body language & safe care before looking at animal videos on the internet so i don’t have to read your dumbass comments about how a sick or stressed animal has “joyous whimsy in its smile”

Hey so uhh remember how I said earlier that I’d been working on a project I couldn’t show you yet? WELL HERE YA GO

I’m trying to phase back into writing, so I’ve been replaying BotW and just scripting these little diary comics, in-character as Link, as I go. It’s been a lot of fun so far! I’ve missed making comics, and this particular method of drawing them sparks a lot of joy for me, so there will definitely be more of this in the future haha.

Still mad about that one time in my highschool zoology class where we were doing a chapter on snake anatomy and the teacher pulled up a fucking video by the reptile channel (complete with actual lies about snake anatomy and fake vore audio overtop) because he wanted to show us the snakes Huge glottis™ (their big snake has a chronic respiratory infection bc of how often they shove shit in it's mouth btw) I got so mad I distrupted class and failed the chapter, still passed without making it up tho lol.
