Ugh! Unfortunately it feels like this is turning into a PJO cast defense blog...
So, ever since these photos have come out, the tired talking points of "Walker is too old" "he's gotten too tall for book 2 Percy" have returned. And I get that a lot of it was just harmless jokes at first, but now y'all have turned to straight bullying the kid's appearance.
Also, Hollywood regularly has 30 year olds playing teenagers... a 15 year old playing a 13 year old is not the end of the world.
However, now I've seen the convo morph into this new avenue of attack on Leah. How she's "Too short" and "it's not that walker's too tall. Leah just isn't growing". Honestly, I'm blaming the Walker fan girls.
And I'm only speaking on it because it is spilling into the overall convo of why Leah isn't "right for the role", because Book!Annabeth was taller than Percy for the first 3 books. And y'all know I don't play about Leahbeth's casting (check my pinned).
*Head in my hands*
You people will actually give me an aneurysm.
AT THIS POINT, how are y'all still harking on the physical appearance of the actors when it comes to "book accuracy". Nobody looks book accurate. the author has spoken about it. The show runners have spoken about it. The writers have spoken about it. Why are y'all still having the same conversations over and over again? Why are y'all still watching this show if book descriptions are a sticking point for you?
The height was always something that was out of the casting director's hands. You CANNOT cast two pre-pubescent actors, and somehow be able to predict when they will each individually hit puberty and what height they would max at. There was literally NO WAY to ensure book accuracy with height difference regardless of who they cast. Y'all wanted age accurate casting? This was the trade-off.
"HOW WILL THEY HAVE THE CHEEK KISS IN S2??!" Why do y'all insist on creating non-issues. You think "mixed-height" couples don't have pda? She can lean up. He can lean down. She can pull him down. They can have her standing on an upward incline. What even is this topic? omg
Reminder: Adaptations will often omit/change plot elements for a smoother transition from one medium to another. the height difference was never that important to the story (yes, I know percy mentions it once or twice. All 5 books were in his POV and he was kinda hyperfixated on Annabeth... so?). I need y'all to stop showing your ass and nitpicking every single issue you can think of as these future seasons are coming out or you're gonna make this a miserable experience for all of us.

Danny Phantom Reboot Rant
I rember watching the frist episode of Danny Phantom when it came out. I have had an unhealthy obsession with this show for a majority of my life.
If you haven't heard, Nickelodeon and Netflix made a deal with the intention to reboot and create Nickelodeon shows as a team. And boy oh boy do I have some words.
Tumblr media
Do I want a reboot: Of fucking course I do!
Do I want a reboot: God no.
1. Butch Hartman, no matter what anyone says, is somewhat of a father figure to me. He shaped my childhood when my parents couldn't.
- He is someone who I find likes to keep up to date with new media, though cringy as times, for someone in his generation he still fanboys over stuff like superhero cartoons and anime. Which is important, he has never shown that corporate side of himself in his work he is genuinely dedicated to creating these fun story lines. The last season he was barely involved...and let's just not think of Phantom Planet *shivers*. Unlike other children show creators, he isn't using children's undeveloped brains to profit easily, but actually wants to teach morals and create entertaining content.
- He's a good creator and isn't scared to come up with dark yet humorous plots.
- For more than ten years he has been listening to fans and I believe he genuinely cherishes our opinions and has even talked about his love for our art and fanfiction on Danny phantom.
- If ANYONE could bring Danny back with the same humour, interesting plot and character development it would be him. HOWEVER, Butch Hartman is no longer in association with Nickelodeon and still does not hold the rights to Danny Phantom.
2. The Fandom
- Many people in the fandom are like me, we were in elementary school or somewhere around there when DP first aired. Meaning that this fandom, though small, has grown up as we have. With it being off the air for more than a decade we have transformed this kids show into something completely different.
- We were left with so many qurstions and so many holes we decided to fill in ourselves. And to be honest I'm proud of us. We have gone to creating so many headcanons and even new characters and timelines, it's basically not even the same show anymore.
- Wes
3. CONCLUSION
- Yes for reboot: If butch hartman was put as head of the team from beginning to end I think a reboot would have a shot. If the fans are listened to and we don't continue from where we left off on Phantom Planet, I think it wouldn't be awful. And with that our fandom could possibly grow bigger. I want more shows for my cousins and my future kids to learn morals from. Danny Phantom unintentionally shaped me so much into the person I am, and even developed my sense of humor in a positive sense. I want our future generation to also grow up with that, especially when it's so lacking at the moment.
- No reboot: It's been over a decade, and we've morphed this fandom into so many things that I'm honestly proud of. I enjoy the little community that comes out of it's cave on April 3rd to shit post. The theories and the character development WE made together is something I fear will be lost in a reboot. That might be me just being someone afraid of change, but even so, I don't want anything damging what we've built. On the logistical side of things, I don't think it would be good. Like I said before, we now live is a world where top executives have cracked the code to making a kids show with minimal effort that will entertain kids just enough to keep them from flipping the channel. And with Butch Hartman out of the picture, Nickelodeon holds copyright claim on Danny Phantom. They can easily use Danny's name as something they pull out of a filing cabinet with their eyes closed, "this seems popular, remake this but make them fart alot and tell poop jokes." I don't think my heart could watch my childhood hero be torn to shreds in front of kids that could've admired him like we do. We've waited all this time for a reboot, and if it's going to happen we deserve it to be good.
Thanks for reading this all if you did. I honestly want to hear what you guys think.

10 Things to Know About Kaylee Bryant, Who Is Already All Over Your TV
Tumblr media
If you only just became familiar with Kaylee Bryant because of her role on Legacies, you've been missing out. Though she may be best known as Josie Saltzman on The Vampire Diaries and The Originals spinoff series, the 21-year-old beauty has been working on her résumé for years, landing guests roles like Sarah in Santa Clarita Diet and Lacey in The Real O'Neals, as well as a starring role in the 2014 thriller Mary Loss of Soul. Here are all of the fun facts you should know about the rising star before her career takes off in a big way.
1. She Was a Huge Fan of The Vampire Diaries Before Being Cast on Legacies
Before landing the role of Josie Saltzman, Kaylee was already a devoted fan of The Vampire Diaries and its spinoff, The Originals, which puts additional pressure on her to play Josie just the right way. "I started watching when I was 15, with my mom, on Netflix, binged it, then I started watching it week by week," she said. "So it was something I always really loved and . . . I take it a little too seriously sometimes. I feel like I'm constantly obligated to make sure that I'm doing right by the fans, because I was a fan."
2. When She and Jenny Boyd Were First Cast, They Didn't Know Which Twin They Would Play
When Kaylee and her castmate Jenny Boyd were told they'd landed a part on Legacies, they knew they would be playing either Josie or Lizzie — they just didn't know who would be who, and the ambiguity actually turned into a fun bonding situation for the actresses. "We ended up actually meeting for coffee, a couple times, when we were both still in Los Angeles," Kaylee explained to Collider, "and we both joked around about who would be who, and who would have to go blonde, and it morphed into this really great thing."
3. She Created a Diary and a Playlist For Her Legacies Character
Kaylee doesn't just play Josie on screen — she lives her character through her own imagination when the cameras aren't rolling as well. ". . . every single episode I write a letter to whatever character is interacting with Josie the most," she explained to Entertainment Tonight. ". . . I have letters to Hope, I have letters to my dad, I have letters to Lizzie, the list goes on. And I have a playlist as well. It kind of helps me get into her mind space."
4. She Began Modeling at the Age of 7
Before Kaylee moved into acting, she started out as a child model for Ralph Lauren. "I started modeling at age seven and was fortunate to do seven seasons of Ralph Lauren until I was around ten years old," she revealed back in 2013. "I loved being on set and working, but I wanted to do more. That's when I started to transition into TV and movies."
5. Her Childhood Dream Roles? Mulan or Wednesday Addams
Kaylee grew up watching Disney movies, and it was these films that first inspired her to become an actress. "I remember watching Disney movies constantly on repeat since I was six years old and pretending I was sick so I could stay home from school to watch them," she told Avante Magazine. "I very clearly remember wanting to become Mulan or Wednesday Addams from The Addams Family."
6. Her Role Models Are Carey Mulligan, Michelle Williams, and Alicia Vikander
When asked by Mood Magazine about her favorite actresses, Kaylee explained that she admired performers who "do their homework" before coming on set, but then allow themselves the freedom to perform with some spontaneity rather than simply proving they'd studied their lines. "Carey Mulligan, Michelle Williams, and Alicia Vikander," she named as her favorites. "I could tell you so many reasons why I love these actresses. All three have a way of being incredibly honest and real on screen . . . Raw, honest and beautiful."
7. She Has an Insanely Good Singing Voice
If you saw the Legacies episode with the Salvatore School's talent show, then you're probably wondering if Kaylee is actually singing, and the answer is absolutely. The decision to put in this bit happened with a little help from Kaylee's manager, who sent Legacies producer Julie Plec a video of 14-year-old Kaylee performing before the show even began filming. Seriously, just watch her cover of Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive."
8. She Plays the Ukulele
As well as being an incredible singer, Kaylee also plays the ukulele in her spare time. She even asked Julie Plec to write in a scene where she could show off her skills so her grandfather could see. "Thank you thank you thank you @julieplec," she tweeted. "I told my Grandpa about tonight's episode and he couldn't have been more happy/proud."
9. She Also Taught Herself How to Play the Cello
The ukulele isn't the only instrument Kaylee plays — she also has been dabbling with the cello, though she doesn't have as much time to practice as she'd like. "My friend gave me a free cello lesson as a gift and rented a cello for me," she told Sweety High. "I had a lot of fun and wish I had more time to commit to learning it as it's a complex and intricate instrument."
10. She Started Her Own Book Club
Back in the beginning of 2019, Kaylee proposed the idea of starting a book club to her Twitter followers, and her fans were here for it. Now #BryantsBookClub is a thing, where she discusses a new book selection each month on Instagram Live.
