There is SO MUCH good stuff coming out from Thailand now and in the next year or so. Even if you've never tried Thai dramas or movies before, I highly recommend keeping your eye on a few upcoming/current projects that look really great. There are so, so many projects I could list, but I want to highlight three I am looking forward to the most.

How To Make Millions Before Grandma Dies (movie, family drama). A young Thai man takes care of his dying grandmother with the intent to get all of her inheritance when she dies. Out now in certain countries.

2. Uranus 2324 (movie, romance, sci-fi). Two young women, Kath and Lin, chase each other across universes and lifetimes, trying to find a reality in which they can be together. Premiers July 4, 2024

3. Happy Ending (series, thriller/mystery, sci-fi, possible romance). Anawin, an unsuccessful writer, finds the manuscript for an unfinished novel he is a fan of after the original author's murder, and is brought face-to-face with the novel's antagonist, Damon. Anticipated to come out mid-2025.

(to note, the first two trailers are for the finished projects, but the final trailer is a pilot/proof of concept trailer, not containing any scenes likely to be in the final product).

If you've never given Thai television or cinema a chance, I would highly recommend it. There's so much good (queer) stuff and Thailand has a very strong identity in their filmmaking, with roots in comedy, horror, and romance.

my grandma is so funny. she calls herself a grouchy old lady and then hangs out by a wooded path near her house giving out produce from her garden to anyone passing by. she has an uncanny ability to convince feral cats to simply walk into a cage, and she talks about them with disdain while also naming them all and taking them to the vet frequently and constantly worrying over their health. she always waits at least a week to respond to letters so that people won't think she has nothing to do or, god forbid, is a "sad, lonely widow" and then sends detailed weekly emails every Sunday. she calls herself frail but at like 75yrs old, she carried my grandpa out of a snowed in canyon on snowshoes after a heart attack. this is the same woman who got herself stranded in switzerland (or maybe it was France?) in the 1950s and according to legend had a whirlwind romance with a random guy there, then left the country and never spoke to him again. she volunteers at the library. she takes painting classes. she used to keep pet scorpions.

Working on a fair isle project atm that's reminding me of how when I first started knitting my mum told me about how my grandma (her mother) used to knit her and her siblings these intricate fair isle jumpers, & how it's turned out that fair isle is probably my favourite type of knitting, moreso than lace or cabling etc, and it always makes me happy to think about bc although this woman died well before I was born I still get to share something with her. Makes me emotional

I think the funniest thing is how all my life my 69 year old grandma (when she finally died) has despised Harry Potter saying "So much of it just feels wrong" and then the stuff about JK Rowling came out and I told her and she said, quote "I knew she was a sneaky bitch. Who gives a shit if some random person wants to not be what they were born as, don't she got shitty books to write?" and that will stick with me a long time, if not, forever. Because yes, slay JK hater and slay trans ally Gma.

Did i ever tell you guys how my grandpa loved my grandma so much he didn't want her to have just an ordinary grave so he -> made a mausoleum. Did the site drainage (he was civil engineer and specialized in reinforced concrete) and it still stands 26 years later and yes its still adorable.

Major TWST Chapter 7 Spoilers!!

So we all know Queen Leah is Aurora’s mom AND Silver’s mom.

But y’all that literally means our sweet 17 year old Silver is Aurora’s long lost brother that never had to experience a sister. He got a brotherly experience with Malleus and Sebek. What I’m more worried is one day someone does a DNA test(possibly Aurora’s children or descendants) and his name pops up. Or someone recognizes Silver’s face because of how similar it is to Aurora’s or Leah’s(I mean come on, we can usually tell when people are related that closely just by looking at them) Like I Can imagine it now. Also fair warning, this gets pretty sad.

🌹: *Aurora is impossibly old, hair gray* Older brother, is that you? You look just like mom said you did? I see the years have caught up to you with your hair.

🌹: Momma used to tell me stories all about you once I woke up from that curse. HOO boy those times were wild. I wish you got to meet my father, but what’s done is done. Probably should catch back up with the princesses some time later. Anyway, we should meet up sometime and catch up on the years.
