gojo, toge, and maki x gn!reader (separately)
warnings: none <3 lowercase intended sorry if that bothers you

"[name]~ did you find what i left you?" gojo's voice came from outside your door. you had, indeed, found the gift he left outside your door the night before - a shirt, one that you immediately recognized as his. a shirt that you now happened to be wearing.
"yes, satoru, i did," you opened your door with a small smile, showing him the outfit you had put together. he grinned broadly, smile almost blinding.
"awwww you look so cute~" he darted from side to side, observing you from all angles. "wait wait, don't move."
he pulled out his phone, snapping a handful of photos while you watched in embarrassed confusion. "satoru... why?"
"i needed a new lockscreen." he flashed you a cheesy grin before walking cheerily down the hallway. he was silly and childish, but damn you loved him.
Tumblr media
you'd been dating inumaki for a few months, and it was inevitable that at some point or another you'd snatch one or two of his clothing pieces as your own. the shirt you wore today was one of those - a light blue tee with a small onigiri embroidered on the front.
as soon as inumaki caught sight of you, he watched in awe and confusion. you approached him nonchalantly, as if nothing was out of the ordinary despite the flush growing on his hidden cheeks.
"tuna?" he asked, pointing at your shirt with slightly furrowed brows.
"is there something wrong?" you asked in return. he motioned frantically between your shirt and himself, repeating "tuna" again and again in confusion.
"oh yeah, right, the shirt. it's yours. i took it a while back because it reminds me of you," you offered an awkward smile, not sure if your boyfriend's reaction was one of joy or frustration.
"tuna mayo!" he said excitedly. from the way you saw his eyes squinting, you could imagine his giddy grin as he wrapped his arms tightly around you.
"i take it that means you like it?" you said with a giggle. he squeezed you a bit tighter, a common gesture when he was excited or happy. softly you murmured into hair, "i love you, toge."
"goma~" sesame - i love you.
Tumblr media
"you're lucky you're cute, [name]."
you hadn't noticed maki appearing behind you, and you hadn't expected her to be there either. she was supposed to be on a mission for the next day or so.
"maki!" you exclaimed, smiling awkwardly at her, genuinely excited that she was back early.
"i know that's my shirt, [name], don't even try to deny it," maki deadpanned, a slight, sly smile tugging at the corners of her mouth.
"yeah, it its. i uh... i took it so i could have something of yours with me while you weren't here," you didn't even bother with excuses, because maki would see through every one of them.
"i'll let you get away with thievery this time, but tell me next time. and don't you dare rip it," despite her cold and blunt demeanor, you noticed the slight admiration in her tone. the slight softness that made you want to wear her clothing a little more often.

The Crane Team (Formally Justice) Part 2:  Equal Under the Law
This short story follows the MC (Now named Yoko Uesugi) and Crow in the creation of the Crane Team. In Book V, there is a team in the Executive Board that is composed of both Hydra and former Devil Clan members called the Crane Team. This immediately impressed me because these people were killing each other months before the events of Dragon Raja V and now they’re working together. How did this team come together? Well, that’s what this story is about.
Months ago this floor was a tightly secured ‘Access Only’ floor. The only way to get through to it was if you knew the special code, had the correct key card and strict ‘need to be there’.
No one who didn’t need to be there was there. It was the living area of the most dangerous person in the world, Erii Uesugi. Her body had been deteriorating and without regular injections of a special serum made from the blood of dead slave fetuses she would have gone mad with raging dragonblood and destroyed Tokyo. So the area had looked like a sterile hospital full of medical equipment and monitoring machines.
But that was all cleared out to make room for Yoko and Erii. Now it just looked like a regular spacious two bedroom apartment. There was a study full of books and a gaming area full of games. There was even an air hockey table to play on. There was a full kitchen of bright white cabinets, a large silver fridge and professional grade black stove.
Erii was quite adept at making bentos.
At this moment, she was carefully using a paring knife and crafting roses out of pickled radish and settling them next to bird shaped rice cakes. She would start working on the bentos the night before, pickling all the vegetables and deciding on the shapes and the flavor profile. Yoko made sure to take photos of the bentos and post them online to the Nightwatcher Forum. Those were some of her most popular posts. When she had time, she would post videos of Erii’s delicate white hands crafting the temaki or onigiri.
But in those posts, Lu Mingfei was strangely silent. Yoko had thought this man loved Erii but perhaps his feelings were mostly performance after all. Yoko felt bad for Erii but men were like that sometimes. They get caught up in a moment but once they were back to their regular routine, they would forget their feelings.
Erii closes the bento into a large black wooden box and ties it with a red ribbon then presents it to her with a deep bow. Yoko bowed to accept this gracious bento gift. “I’ll be back home soon if things go well.” Yoko says. “Will Erii be studying today?”
Erii’s soft crimson eyes blink at Yoko and she nods. She writes on her notepad. “Ganbatte.”
“Itte kimasu…” Yoko bows one more time and makes her way out.
As soon as she steps out onto the hall, Yoko is flanked by two armed guards in dark trench coats. Even though this place looked like a regular residential floor, it was still a high security area. The reason was simple. Yoko was wearing long sleeves and black gloves, with black stockings under her black skirt. Yoko was covered head to toe because her skin was covered in scales.
Yoko’s eyes were black because of her black colored contact lenses. Without the contacts, the bright red-gold of a dragon king flowed from her eyes. The weight of the authority and majesty in those eyes would fall on everyone. Yet Yoko was not a dragon and she was not a dead slave. She rested somewhere in-between. Her humanity was a smaller percentage than should be possible for a Hybrid without losing their sanity to their dragon side. But the White King’s blood had the element of Spirit which restrained the inherent violence in a dragon’s blood. That’s the only reason why Yoko could still behave as a human.
Unfortunately, if anyone else found out what a creature was living in Genji Heavy Industries they would be appalled. Few people knew Yoko’s true condition and those that did kept her carefully guarded.
Yoko stepped into the elevator and the floor rose to one of the main office floors. Besides her bento box, Yoko carried a satchel full of reports. The purpose of her job today was to address the injustices going on in the prison systems regarding the Devil Clan. So she was headed to meet up with Hayato Miyamoto, the lead of the Hydra’s legal department.
The legal department was expansive on the 25th floor of the building. They ran the largest and most prestigious law firm in Japan, courted and sometimes bribed judges, and made sure that the organization stayed above board as much as it could as a Yakuza organization. When it came to purchasing property, paying taxes, and trading goods, the legal department made sure to make even the most illicit transactions look clean.
The legal department was full of racks of books and reference works. They were so crammed on this floor, that the bookcases had to be on a track system. When there was no space needed between bookcases, they would contract and stack together so as to make the most use of the space. There were also long wooden tables with elegant lamps with green glass shades. People sat and typed on their laptops. There were also separate cubicles where people spoke on the phones.
Executive Board members rarely came to this floor. When the paralegals and secretaries saw the dark trench coats and heavy pistols of her escorts, they couldn’t help but stop and stare. Yoko feels out of place on this plush carpet, walking through like she was being escorted to court herself.
The door ahead opens to a main office. It was carved with rising koi fish.
Hayato Miyaomoto is a thin man in his early 40s in a grey pinstriped straight suit with tortoiseshell glasses in front of sharp black eyes. The escorts stay outside. Hayato leans over the desk in a bow and Yoko returns it.
“Please sit down, Ms. Uesugi.”
“Thank you. And thank you for seeing me.”
Hayato sits across from her in his thick leather office chair behind a heavy wood desk. He frowns deeply. “No need to thank me. I don’t have much choice. Clan Chief Sakurai Nanami pushed me into this audience.”
Yoko dips her head a bit. “Then, I won’t waste time on niceties. Several months ago, the evidence of crimes of the Devil Clan were leaked to legal departments around the country. Once the evidence was in front of the judge over half the Devil Clan was thrown into prison. However, many of the procedures were hasty and without proper discretion.”
Mr. Miyamoto frowned. “This is irrelevant. So long as the evidence was not falsified, there is no need for discretion.”
Yoko glances up at him. “If it were anywhere else, I would agree. However, this is Japan. In Japan, the police have far more discretion than in other places. Once the evidence is in front of a judge, it should have already passed through the local authorities. However, in many cases, this step was skipped. Many crimes that never would have made it to the level of the courts were prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and many of the defendants did not have time or resources to even gather a legal defense.”
Hayato watched as Yoko pulled out a thick file. She opened it up and pulled out a mugshot of a young man who looked no more than 16. “This is Shouta. Shouta was prosecuted for pickpocketing in a mall. CCTV evidence was sent to a judge. He was arrested and sentenced to ten years in prison. In a similar case with a Hydra man of similar age, the police let him go with a warning and informed his parents. The purpose of these arrests had nothing to do with the crime, Mr. Miyamoto. It had everything to do with shutting down the Devil Clan. It was not done with any regard to the lives it would destroy in the process.”
She pushed the photo forward. “I’m not asking you to break the law or ignore it. I’m asking for the cases to be reviewed through the lens of Hydra justice. We cannot allow there to be two separate legal systems, one for Hydra and one for Devils. If someone can be released from prison as a Hydra, they should be released as a Devil.”
Hayato glanced down at the paper. Shouta’s last name was Miyamoto. Hayato sighed deeply. “How many cases do you want me to review?”
“457.”
“What?!” Hayato looked to be about to spit curses.
“Those are the ones I have managed to gather.” Yoko’s eyes narrowed. She understood his reluctance. After all, Devils were barely people in the eyes of the Executive board. They just wanted to get them out of the way and suppress the plot to resurrect the Light King. There was no thought to the future consequences. The fact that the legal department would have to back track and work with the courts to undo this massive injustice was certainly unforeseen.
“I’m afraid I don’t have the staff…” He crossed his arms over his chest.
“I’m afraid that’s going to be an issue on your end. Every day these people remain in jail, there is less and less of a willingness for reconciliation. If the Devils and the Hydras can’t be treated equally under the law then all we have left is a return to vigilantism. The clock is ticking.”
“Vigilantism…” The man’s eyes turned cold.
Yoko faces his stare with a direct challenge. “Would you argue that the rush to violence against the entirety of the Devil Clan wasn’t vigilantism? All it took was a cursory association with the Devil Clan to receive a death threat! If staff is truly an issue, I’ll request the Clan Chief for a budget and I will hire a staff to handle the paperwork. However, it has always been the challenge of the legal department to deal with the messes of the Executive Branch. This is no exception.”
“You come here and speak so boldly…” Hayato shook his head in dismay.
“I have to be bold because there is simply no time to waste. Without systemic support, these feeble talks between the Hydra and the Devil Clan will break down under the weight of their frustration.”
Hayato thumbed through the profiles, each one with a hybrid in prison. “Very well.”
“Good. Every one of those people has an anxious relative waiting for news. So I will require weekly updates on each case.”
Hayato gritted his teeth so hard, Yoko could hear them crack.
“They have no trust in the system. Once this first batch is successfully resolved, the constant need for updates between reports will slow down. But this will be a long journey. But in the end, a united Japan Branch will be worth it. The dragons will take advantage of infighting again if we let them.”
“We?” Hayato looked at Yoko over his glasses.
“Yes. Even though I was once the wife of Ruri Kazama, I am a member of the Japan Branch. Officially. I consider you my partner in this.”

Day 1 continued, and Day 2
I eventually woke Lucy up at 7pm and advised her that we had two options. 1, she could go back to sleep, however we would be unable to pick up the tickets needed for the Final Fantasy Eorzea Cafe as they had to be collected today, and we would lose the reservation. Or option 2, which was go to Lawson, pick up the tickets and food, come back, eat and sleep.
Needless to say we went for option 2. I cannot tell you how much of a faff getting tickets to Eorzea Cafe has been. I tried to pre-book a few weeks ago, but for holding a reservation for more than 3 days, you need to pay upfront with a credit card. Let me tell you now, upon research online and trying it myself, it seems the only card that will work is AMEX as it can’t be linked to a foreign country. Therefore, I had to hope that 3 days before our trip there were spaces left, go through the booking site in Japanese, and then use the Loppi machine at Lawson also in Japanese. I lucked out on a space near the end of our trip, but trying to find out where to pay for the tickets was even more of a faff.
Sure, I know they’re collected at a Loppi machine in Lawsons, but did you know there are multiple types of Lawson combini in Japan? I was about to say 2, but having just googled it to find out why, apparently it’s 4. 4 shops, same name, different focuses and slightly different products. There’s a Lawson 100 (or as the clerk put it, Green Lawson), and then there’s normal Lawson (Pink and Blue Lawson). And no, Google will not tell you which is which (otherwise I really wouldn’t mind, as it didn’t for us) as it just calls all of the combini Lawson. We had so much trouble, that honestly I would check where the Lawsons are in relation to you, and then use street view to determine whether it had a pink and blue striped sign or not.
Once I had found the right type of Lawson, operating the Loppi machine was fairly straightforward as I had read a few walkthroughs beforehand, and seemed to remember most of the instructions.
Essentially, when you make a reservation you receive a QR code by email. On the machine, you want to hit the middle button with ‘Loppi QR’ on it, scan the QR code, and then it will ask you for the phone number used when making the booking.
What you need to remember then is to basically press the orange button (yes/continue), apart from on the screen where you’re asked about Ponta cards (hit the grey button). You then get to inputting your name, which looks confusing with all the buttons and no English language button, but you can input the name in the Roman alphabet by pressing the third button down in the list to the right of the characters. Input the first name, press the second button in the list for a space, enter last name, then hit orange ok buttons to confirm until the machine spits out a receipt at you.
I’d love to say that’s the whole process, but no. Almost there though. Take the receipt to the counter within 30 minutes (you can pay for shopping at the same time too), pay, sign the receipt as prompted, and the Pink and Blue clerk will kindly hand you the tickets.
Gotta love that bureaucracy! I’m sure there are things at home just as convoluted, but honestly if Lucy hadn’t been bugging me about this for weeks and I myself getting into the game in the past month or so, I probably would have stopped somewhere around my card not working online.
If you’d like to know how to make the reservation, my recommendation would be to follow this excellent guide: https://riikorinkoko.wordpress.com/2017/05/15/riikos-eorzea-cafe-reservation-guide-and-how-to-use-s-loppi-machines-at-lawson-ffxiv-final-fantasy-xiv/amp/
Only addition to this would be to open the page in Chrome if possible, so it can be automatically translated.
Back at the hotel, we ate the snacks we’d purchased, called home (or tried to, in any case), before finally heading off to bed.
I woke up again at 9am on our first full day, after setting my alarm. I spent an hour checking things like emails and trying to trace our bags, of which there was currently no news, before I woke Lucy up. Over the next hour or so we got ready as best we could with a mishmash of clothes, no makeup, and no deodorant (as that’s...kind of not a thing here due to Asian genetics?), before heading out the door around 11:15.
On our way along to Kaminarimon Gate and Asakusa shrine and temple we spotted a shop that essentially was a bit like a Superdrug back home, where Lucy managed to find some basic makeup.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I really enjoyed walking round the shrine and temple; despite the insane amount of people in places the atmosphere was very serene. We both pulled a fortune, and as per usual with me, I get bad luck xD As is traditional, I tied it on the special rack and hopefully that means our bags won’t get even more delayed >.<
Tumblr media
We also both got these wooden sticks you write your name and date of birth on which have a wish, and somehow this is supposed to bring you closer to that wish? Nothing particularly special for this, get wooden stick, write on stick, hand back stick to guy you just brought from, done. I mean, when in Rome, but somehow I feel like I just got conned into paying 200 yen to scribble on a stick.
We both picked up a drink at this point from one of the vending machines as the weather had heated up considerably, and then headed to the incense counter where you can buy incense, light it, and then waft it on yourself before putting it in the big burner so that it can be shared with others wafting the incense onto themselves. Wafting incense is believed to cleanse you.
Tumblr media
After this we wandered round the local shopping streets and found a nice cafe for lunch. Lucy went for a cola and sandwich toastie with pizza filling; I went for a melon soda float, and spaghetti neapolitan. Both of us enjoyed the food; the soda float was the perfect thing after being in the heat.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After lunch, we headed out to the Tokyo Skytree for our prebooked tickets. We were also fortunate that prebooking allowed us to jump the long queue for the elevator and zoom right to the 350m deck to enjoy the sights of Tokyo from above. However somewhere along our travels the weather turned overcast, and therefore whilst still a decent view of Tokyo, we were unable to see Fuji-san at this point. As we also had galleria tickets, we then went up again to 450m, which again was very impressive. They also had a a barbie exhibition for some reason up at this level and a little pop up barbie themed shop. A browse around later and we both ended up buying a compact mirror each with a pretty illustration on the front.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
On the way back down, we went in the main Skytree gift shop where I got a fridge magnet with a stained glass effect for our fridge back home :) At this point, we felt kind of done with crowds and queues, so it was back on the subway to the hotel for us. Unfortunately, our luggage had still not arrived >.< I had received a message earlier in the day advising me that the bags had arrived at the airport, and that they would therefore be passed to the delivery company.
I had to take a break at this point as not long after we got back to the hotel I developed a thumping headache, for which I honestly have to praise past me, who usually forgets everything but her electronics, for packing paracetamol in the hand luggage. I took one of these and lay down for a bit, and by around 7pm this had died down considerably.
At this point I decided to get a drink, so I hit up the 12th floor as the details we were given stated there is a vending machine up there; there very well might be. However, the 12th floor turned out to be the roof, and as it was raining considerably we went down to the ground floor where another one was supposedly located. And there was, only it was outside the back of the hotel, in the street past the parking lot, after going down a flight of stairs 😣 The only upside of this is that I ended up teaching the front desk clerk who helped us the words ‘vending machine’ as he did not know the phrase in English.
At this point we also needed food, so we went back upstairs to grab our coats before making a mad dash across the road to Family Mart. I have to say, combini food in Japan is honestly as amazing as everyone makes out.
Tumblr media
In England you go to the ‘to go’ section of ASDA and maybe get a mayonnaise sandwich with a small bit of ham on soggy bread if you’re lucky. Here, you can go to the corner shop, get a meal made with fresh ingredients, have it heated up for you, and then if you really want you can eat it at the counter provided. Buy a pot noodle and want it now? Use the hot water machine to soak your noodles. Not about that life? Have freshly baked proper pastries, or warm chicken instead.
I would go on, but I’m too busy thinking about the hot royal milk tea I had out of a bottle, which was perfect in the drizzle this evening on the way home, the bacon wrapped onigiri, and caramel pudding parfait I had for dinner. And of course, I brought a few packets of kitkats to take home too whilst I was at it.
The rest of the evening was spent resting, as we needed to be up early the next day for our Mt. Fuji trip.

Inazuma Walker 4 Summary Part 2 - About Ares no Tenbin PV Part One about the White Day Special can be found on my tumblr blog, under the tag Inazuma Walker (Note: All prefixes like -san, -chan etc… are how Hino and Mo address each character)
The theme for this Walker episode is ‘If Inazuma Eleven was 3D…?”
In other words, if Inazuma characters were real, who would they resemble, what form would they take etc… (submitted by fans)
Kiyama Tatsuya (Hiroto) Mo says he’s joined Eisei Gakuen and his parents are the Sun Garden/Ohisama en. Hino says his name has changed, but Mo says it’s because this is a peaceful world.
Who would he look like?
Ryounosuke Kamiki, a Japanese actor and voice actor “I think they’re quite similar mood-wise, but more than anything it seems like he would recreate Kiyama’s ‘I’m in love with those eyes of your’s, Endou.’ speech faithfully!”
Hino comments the actor was in Kimi no Na Wa (played Taki). Mo says rather than being similar mood-wise, it’s because they’re both bishounen.
Sangoku-san Hino calls him ‘The Boy Who Can’t Stop Shoots’, and mention his parent-like personality.
Who would he look like? Yo Oizumi, an actor “Because their hair is similar.” Hino says he likes both Oizumi and Sangoku, and both of their personalities are very warm so they’re a perfect match. Who would he look like? Yuki Himura (Bananaman), comic performer “They’re identical! That’s what I thought the moment I saw him!” Hino says they certainly look alike with that haircut.
Majin the Hand Mo says no matter how many times she looks at him, she sees Gouenji’s haircut, despite him being Endou’s move
Who would he look like? Riki Takeuchi, an actor “They look similar.” Hino says they generally look similar. Mo agrees it’s the muscles.

Kurimatsu Chestnut

Handa Mo says Handa is very popular, Hino doesn’t understand as he’s no personality. Mo says for people who like Handa, they feel he’s got plenty of personality - everyone’s eyes are different.
Who would he look like?
A Johnny’s Idol “As he has a Johnny’s-vibe, he could look like any of them. In the Inazuma world, his appearance is ordinary.”
They made this picture. They’re all Handa. When she first saw it, Mo thought Ichinose-kun and Fideo-kun had snuck in there, but it’s all Handa. Mo says if this was a real group, she’d go see them. She says it’s cute, which Hino questions.
Endou Mamoru-kun Shuzo Matsuoka, a tennis player “They’re both hot-blooded, and I want him to say: sakka, yarou ze!” Endou: Practice is onigiri! Shuzo: Today you’re my Mt. Fuji!
Then they had a guess the quote game, where fans on NicoNico (not Youtube) guessed if it was Endou-kun or Matsuoka-san who said a particular thing. The first two were Matsuoka-san and the fan’s correctly guessed the third one was Endou. The theme for next time is stereotypes about Inazuma Eleven Hino says there are a lot of characters who love their little sisters, but Mo says there’s really only about two… Mo talks about the strength of the goal net, as expected of super dimensional soccer You can go to the homepage for more info
New Game Hino says he’s going to talk a bit about the console it’s released on. He also says the making of the game is going well. He says it will probably come to a console better quality than the 3DS.

Hino apologises to her for sending the script late last time. They congratulate her on Sakuma from the last episode, said he looked wonderful, and she agreed the staff worked very hard. Apparently a lot of the animation staff like Inazuma and they wanted to work on Outer Code. Hino says they’re looking forward to the next episode and they rewatch episode 25, commenting a lot that it’s very nostalgic.
After that they rewatch trailers from previous games, Asuto’s voice actor has joined them.

Points of Interest
Kidou and Haizaku - First time Kidou’s appeared in a PV, and he’s been sent to Seishou as a Strengthening Player (Translator’s notes: is there a certain way to translate this phrase?).
Haizaka and the girl - Mo’s interested but Hino can’t say anything. Someone in the comments wonders if Haizaka has a Sister Complex.
Aphrodi-san - Mo says everyone was waiting for this, that he’s cool. The uniform was decided in Inazuma Walker. The player on the right is a new character. Hino asks fans to carefully examine him afterwards, as he’s a character that has never appeared before. Hino focuses on him for a bit, so he might have a story.
Bear Killer Atsuya, and Shirou - They talk about how Atsuya is the Bear Killer now, unlike the previous series where it was Shirou.
Shiratoya Nae-chan - I think Mo was surprised she actually became a player, and says she’s very cute.
Gouenji-san - Z Zemi. Mo says Gouenji returns to his old school as a Strengthening Agent, but wonders what kind of formation a team with four forwards will make.
Sakanoue Noboru-kun - A new character
Legendary Goalkeeper - They claim ‘we don’t know who it is yet’, but it’s pretty obvious who it is
Haizaka vs Nosaka - Mo says this scene is a big spoiler, those two playing against each other, but they’re very cool. Hino says he doesn’t know if it counts as a spoiler.
Nosaka - “I’ll change the world with these hands.” It’s the first time Ares, the secret keyword, has been mentioned.
Nosaka ‘crying’ - This scene was released on Hino-san’s Twitter, and Mo is very interested. She wonders if it’s just water on his face or is he crying.
Nosaka, Anna and the goalkeeper - Mo wonders about the relationship triangle, and since Anna is a Raimon student why does she seem so close to Nosaka? She wonders if it’s the Kidou-pattern where they might be siblings…? They make jokes about Hino liking Sister Complexes.
Finally, they mention the woman who looked like a teacher at the end.
The keyword for the next episode is: Kami! (God)
Speculation: It’s the kami in Shindou’s name, but I think it has more to do with Gods. I wonder if it has any connection to Aphrodi, as in Kami no Aqua/ fact that Aphrodi compared himself to a God a lot…? Or will they explain Ares (which I guess is a Greek God)...?

I made a set of New Year party pictures portraying all important characters of my AU fanfiction and two characters who also have something to do with a main story though never appear in it. This takes place some time after the fanfic (obviously: the story takes place at summer while this must be the end of december)
1. Yazoo, Reno, Rude and Alvis (rod) decorating an x-mass tree according to a scheme but probably mistook Yazoo for one. The tree is a fake. Rufus hate living cut trees and flowers. Alvis is so joyful because there’s no snow. He hates snow, that’s canon. Yazoo is very happy but you can’t tell it by his look. Just believe he is)
2. Kunsel and two other remnants were sent to buy drinks and alchogol. Zack the dog just enjoying the winter chill that he missed at summer.
3. Oh, Rufus, Evan is to naive to get your “Hangman's knot” joke. Evan Townshend is a character from a novel Final Fantasy VII Lateral Biography Turks -The Kids Are Alright. Although I enjoyed only the first third of a novel, I really like the character. He never appear in my fanfiction (at least in a main story) but I really like the idea of these two geting along. I think Evan doesn’t know much about dress-code and ties XD
4. Tseng and hungry gulls girls: Freyra (shotgun), Elena, Dark nation the second and Keiko. Keiko is a small OC who does not affect the story, that’s Tseng’s younger sister and his only living relative. She is a family member so I found her presence quite logical. Those panda onigiri is her job for sure :3 That make up is probably Freyra’s job as well as Keiko’s jewelry: girl rarely wear some. Elena don’t do make up too). I’m hungry now.
It’s a bit too late, but happy New Year everyone and Merry Christmass! And happy Chinese New Year too! Sorry, it took me a while to draw these. BUT! I still has an x-mass tree being decorated, so...does it count?
btw there’s Valentine’s day tomorrow! Cheers and hugs everyone!

Chapter 11: Defense Plans
Ina rode beside Masayasu. Her horse was white and she very much enjoyed riding with him. She showed respect and affection for her mount, she respected the animal that rode on journeys and on battlefield as a member of the family, his name was Haku.
Masayasu realized that she seemed calm on this trip, perhaps a little scattered. Or maybe she simply trusted him too much now and believed she would be safe and secure by his side. He did not know if she should trust him that much. Of course he wanted her confidence, but it was a trip and they did not know yet whether they could be watched from afar or if they could come up with looters any further.
Only he thought of all this? Was he paranoid and always thought something could go wrong on this trip? He continued to look at Ina, she smiled and ran her hand over the horsehair. When she realized that Masayasu was looking at her, she turned her face to his side and smiled cheerfully. He did not understand the reason for such happiness.
"Why are you happy?" he decided to ask, still observing her gestures with the horse.
"Ah, maybe for you to be natural to go out, to travel, missions alone, but for me this is new. My father never allowed me to go so far as to say that he trusts me and my abilities. For me it's good to stay away from the castle for some time, away from his controlling eyes where I always have to be Inahime."
She spoke with a smile and then giggled with amusement.
"You should not understand this because you are a man and a shinobi. As much as I am an onna bugeisha, as much as I follow the code bushido like every samurai, my father still sees me as a princess, and that suffocates me sometimes. It’s nice to have a little freedom."
She now just smiled softly, her eyes soft and gentle as she looked at Masayasu. It was then that he could understand a little more about Ina, she liked being a warrior, being a noble was good for her, but it made her lose her freedom. He smiled a little at the realization that he had never thought about it. He always thought that every hime liked protection, but forgot that Ina was different from the other hime.
"Well, I do not know if you're tired of riding up, but we'll ride around until lunchtime and then we stop to eat and get some rest."
Masayasu spoke as he looked at his brown horse. He did not know his name, but he knew they would have each other's company for a few days. He had smooth strokes, and seemed to be a docile horse, good for travel.
Ina nodded at Masayasu's words and looked at him with a soft smile.
"It's all right with me, I brought food for both of us, water and tea."
She smiled again and realized he was staring at the horse. Maybe he had not had time to be introduced to his travel partner.
"Her name is Mako, she's sweet and good for travel, my father uses her on trips, not in battles, just for travel, she knows many provinces and many samurai."
Masayasu looked at Ina and then at Mako. She was right about being a good horse to go. He looked forward and also checked behind and from the sides, he was watching any strange movement. They were alone, climbing a meadow, but it was never too much to watch.
"I think it's hard for us not to see somebody here, but there's rock walls ahead, I know we need to be careful, but here, even at a long distance we'll see someone."
Ina spoke and Masayasu cast a serious look. She blushed at the same time. Maybe he did not like that kind of comment while he was doing his job. She averted her gaze still red cheeked, maybe she had offended him, but it was not her intention.
"I'm sorry I offended you, Masayasu-sama, I did not mean to."
She looked at him and quickly bowed her head, she was embarrassed at that moment. He smiled a little, he knew she was being honest with him, but it was good to tease her a little.
"It's okay, but I just need to make sure, even if we can hear someone approaching, we can still be attacked by silent shinobi, do not forget that."
Masayasu spoke, and immediately Ina's eyes widened in surprise. She had not really thought about it so much to learn on a trip. She thought only of mercenaries and robbers, but she never thought of shinobi.
"I have much to learn from you, Masayasu-sama. Thank you for being with me and teaching me one more thing."
She smiled gently at him. Masayasu saw that smile, it was so sweet and kind that he needed to look away and just nod, if he tried to say something nothing would come out of his poor lips at that moment.
Farther on, as Ina had said, there was a wall of rocks on the right side. Quickly Masayasu motioned for Ina to stand on his left side, and she quickly obeyed. They began to jog softer there, trying to make as little noise as possible.
Masayasu was looking up at the rocks. He tried to hear or feel some presence. Strangely there was no one, but he did not trust all that silence, that was too strange, it would be an ideal place for an attack, but he waited for the attack that never came.
Weird. Lots of weird. Maybe the looters had changed the plans and chose another location. He looked at Ina, she shrugged, not understanding either.
"Maybe they have planned to attack somewhere else in the future, there is still a forest on the way, but when it gets to the forest it will be night."
She spoke in Masayasu and he put his hand on his thoughtful chin. A forest at night would be more than perfect. Then surely the attack would come from the forest, he needed to prepare for it, because they could not completely avoid the forest, it was on the left side of the path they were using to cross the province.
Ina quickly realized that they would be attacked at night, near the forest, it would surely be the ideal place, they would be able to hide among the trees. She stared at Masayasu and realized that he was thoughtful, as if he were planning something in silence.
Masayasu was again thoughtful and did not share his doubts and thoughts with her. She picked up the gourd with water and took a sip, then turned to offer it to Masayasu, her expression was gentle, she wanted to begin that conversation with a gentle countenance.
Masayasu took the gourd and drank a long sip of water, it was a little cold for a trip, it was autumn, so it was not hot, but his lips felt waterless. But he caught Ina's gaze, an inquisitive look.
"Why do not you share your ideas with me? We're a team on this trip. If you plan something I need to know."
She spoke in a serious tone, Masayasu was a bit surprised and then allowed a small smile to sprout from the corner of his lips. As always Ina surprising him, he did not expect this comment, she had realized that he was already completing a defense for the future attack.
"You're very smart. Yes, I was already planning a defense for the attack that will come from the forest." he said.
"But if you do not share this with me I will not be able to help, I can not just try to help you without knowing what you want to do, or I'll disrupt your plans, Masayasu-sama."
Masayasu looked at Ina in silence. She was right, he could not be planning everything, attacks or defenses without dividing it with her. They were a team, although he never worked with partners, she would be like a missions partner for him now.
"You're right, but I'm going to use you as bait for the attack, looters will see you and they'll think you're defenseless, they'll attack you first, and you'll hit them and I'll attack them to defend you. I just do not know how many men there are."
Masayasu said and looked at the horizon as he rode slowly. It was not the best plan he ever had, but he would be hiding to fulfill his plan.
"I'm going to hide and leave you alone with the horses. I'm sure they'll try to attack you."
Ina raised an eyebrow. She did not like the plan, but would say nothing, she would let Masayasu plan attacks and defenses while traveling, since the main mission is hers and she will plan everything from her own way.
"And if .... it's a possibility, if it's about 10 men. Do you think you'll be quick enough to defend me? I'm going to be alone with two horses. I can use my bow and defend myself, but I do not know how many they're going to attack this defenseless young woman here."
Ina mocked. She did not want to confront Masayasu, but there was the possibility of being attacked by many men at the same time.
"You say you're going to hide, okay, I'm going to ride alone with two horses, they may suspect someone, or we can pass my trunk to your horse, so it will seem like I use both horses during the trip. Let me know if you see more than three men, so I'll be ready with my bow, or another more practical weapon in hand."
Ina smiled a little at Masayasu. "I just do not want to be unexpectedly surprised by many men."
Masayasu nodded in agreement and looked at Ina. She was right, she needed to prepare herself, he could not count 100% that his plan would work, so she had to defend herself as well.
"Okay, I'll let you know, do not worry."
He said and then looked toward the sun, the weather was a bit warmer, but it was still a bit chilly because of the wind. He hoped it would not be so cold at night, they would stop near the forest, there was no village nearby.
"Do you want to stop for lunch and rest?"
He asked seeing Ina's horse a little tired, they had ridden for hours without a pause. The horses needed rest.
"There is a river nearby, we can stop there, eat, rest and fill the gourd with water."
Ina looked at Masayasu and smiled happily at him. He saw that girly's smile and then smiled a little and nodded.
"Show me the way." he made a gesture with his hand for her to lead.
In a few minutes of riding to the left side, leaving a little of their way, they stopped by a river. The water was clean and the river was flowing. Masayasu and Ina dismounted quickly. Ina took the food she brought in on a cloth and opened the cloth on the lawn and sat a stone and looked at Masayasu.
Masayasu saw onigiri and some fruit to eat. Besides tea, tea was welcome in this climate, it would be better if it were sake. He sat on a stone before Ina and picked up an onigiri and bit as he watched the horses quietly approach the riverbank and drink water.
"I was wondering when the night falls, we're going to have to sleep in the moonlight, maybe it's very cold. Do you know of any doing in the middle of the road where we can stop? Maybe before at night if that's the case."
"No, there is a small farm after the forest, almost on the border of the provinces."
Ina ate her onigiri slowly as she looked at Masayasu. He was right, as it was autumn, it was likely that the night would be cold, if they would have to sleep in the open air they might get sick.
"What we can do is reduce the rest time and ride faster, as fast as we can get to the farm. We should arrive at the farm at night if we only take a short break here."
Ina said looking at Masayasu, she realized that he was thinking of her words and pondering what would be best for them.
"So let's do it, maybe we can get through the forest before nightfall and not be attacked."
Masayasu spoke and then took a sip of tea, it was already warm, but at least it was a little hot to warm his throat.
Ina nodded and took her tea. She had finished eating and then offered more onigiri to Masayasu, who gestured to save to eat later. She then nodded and got up and picked up the cloth with the onigiri and folded it to save in her trunk.
She approached Haku and stroked the horsehair and filled the gourd with water in the river. Masayasu watched as Ina bent down and filled her gourd with water. He may realize that she was already accustomed to travel, though this time she was far from her family.
Ina dipped her hand in the water and then passed her face and neck. Masayasu watched her gesture. Although the weather was pleasant, she still had the sun against her, Ina might want a shower. He watched her. So beautiful and soft. At another time he would have ignored it, but it was SHE. He could not ignore her gestures.
Ina noticed Masayasu's gaze and then looked at him with a gentle countenance, her face filled with a light he had never seen before. She was gorgeous, he could not deny it.
He allowed a small smile to appear on his lips. And though she was very beautiful, she seemed fearless and intelligent. She has taken the initiative to solve all the problems so far. He was enjoying traveling with her, he was a helpful person and although he sometimes seemed distracted watching the scenery was always on alert.
Masayasu went to Mako and ran his hand through her horsehair. Mako nodded to his side. Masayasu smiled a little, it seemed Mako liked him, although he knew she was Ieyasu's horse.
"Seems she liked you."
Ina said as she mounted Haku and fastened the gourd to the trunk. She looked at Masayasu and smiled at him gently. Again she smiled like that for him, Masayasu needs to get used to it, he was not accustomed to such kindness and smiles.
Masayasu mounted quickly and looked at Ina, who put on her chip hat and tied it to her chin. She really looked like a samurai in that hat, but she had kind eyes like a noble lady. But maybe her real essence was a good hearted onna bugeisha, just that. Fair and with a gentle heart.
Masayasu sighed as he realized that he was thinking about Ina again, this was starting to become costly. He picked up the reeds from Mako and turned her toward the road again. He glanced over his shoulder at Ina, and saw that she was ready, just waiting for his command.
A brief smile and then he stamped his feet on the Mako’s body, who began to ride quickly. Ina smiled a little and then did the same with Haku who ran to reach Mako. Ina saw Masayasu riding fast. Her own chip hat hat almost came out of her head, lucky that she caught it on the chin this time.
They rode fast for hours, then more late in the afternoon they slowed down, it was close to the forest.
Ina took the gourd and drank water and put it to Masayasu who also drank water. He stopped his horse and went down quickly and then he helped Ina down, although he knew he did not need to help her, he wanted to show that the trip was comfortable for him in her company.
She came out with his help and quickly looked into her blue eyes and smiled a little.
“Thank you, Masayasu-sama.”
Her cheeks flushed a little and then she picked up the gourd and attached it to the trunk.
"I'll ride Mako and pull Haku. Let me know if you find anyone."
She lifted her face to meet Masayasu's eyes. He still had a slight distance to the forest, but he wanted to go before, maybe check the forest or around it.
He saw those violet eyes looking at him and then he could not hide a faint smile. Ina raised an eyebrow at the realization that it was a sincere smile, she liked to see it and then smiled gently at him again.
"Go, before I change my mind about your plan."
Ina turned around and when she went to ride on Mako, Masayasu quickly approached and helped her. Ina was a little surprised and looked at the shinobi's face. He was surprising her with some gestures. Should she be afraid of this?
Ina took Masayasu's hand and stared at him softly. She wanted to understand what was going on in her mind, but she could only see missions, plans and contract. She wanted to see beyond that, she wanted to see the real Masayasu, no mission, no contract, only the shinobi, the man standing before her.
Masayasu felt Ina hold his hand then let his eyes meet hers, her hand was cold, maybe she was a little cold, it was late afternoon, soon night would fall. He felt her hold his hand firmly, as if she did not want him to get away from her, go on a mission.
"I promise to let you know how many are in the forest and I promise to protect you, Inahime."
He spoke, but he saw Ina shake her head in negative, as if it were not what she really wanted to hear.
"No, I want you to come back to me safely, that's all. Don't think that my heart is not afflicted with the idea of you entering this forest alone. My heart is tight with this idea, I fear you might get hurt today, to be smitten before my eyes."
She spoke with her violet eyes charged with real concern for him. Masayasu was slightly surprised, he did not expect to hear it from her. To hear that she cared so much about him, what could he say? She really cared about him. With your safety. With your life.
He nodded with a faint smile appearing on his lips. His blue eyes watching her. He could see her expression really charged with concern.
"I promise to get back to you, alive."
And saying that he released her hand, took a few steps back, still looking at that beautiful face and turned and ran towards the forest and jumped, vanishing before her eyes.
Ina stood for some time, just staring at the forest, there was something wrong in that place, there was something wrong at that moment, she could feel her instinct screaming at her.
With a gentle gesture, she began to ride toward the forest, the path she had to cross passed right by. She felt her heart reluctant, her thoughts drawn away, to Masayasu. Only Masayasu.

I somehow accidentally totally intentionally got the turn-based sidequest so we’re into 17x
Tumblr media
oh yeah i forgot about this part
long story short we get to pick 3 characters to take on a mess of pirates and myrmidons
Anakin’s required, and Ace is nominally appropriate, but i’m gonna want to out-sword these enemies too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
yeah
also apparently Oni Giri ignores defense. That’s a hell of a thing.
The enemies generally don’t have much in the way of dangerous weapons (though it is totally possible to get poisoned and fucking die if you’re not careful) but have a lot of stats in the 10-17 range, so we’re gonna need people who can actually take a hit.
I kind of want to bring Shuuda and take Kevin out of mothballs, so I’m giving them the first shot. Otherwise it might be Althares-Tekun.
Tumblr media
look at this shit. Both pirates are currently in range of Anakin, and Shuuda there is his closest backup. Best be careful.
Tumblr media
there’s a couple of options to take here - i decide this is the best. The Pirate-pirate off the to left there is just out of range, and this tree is one square out of Zoro’s range as well. I’m not sure if he moves, and I’m not planning to find out on the first turn.
Anakin is primed to take 20 damage (out of 28 HP) if the Fighter chooses to attack with Steel. Hence why I want to be very careful.
the good news is the chance of that landing is 20% before true hit, but still
Tumblr media
Shuuda’s stats - Steel Sword versus a merc with a Venom Edge, aka one of the weakest swords in the game.
Tumblr media
the tree is within range of that archer- this maps is a real wake-up call in terms of strategy, when you bring units that can’t afford to take many hits.
the hit rates on Hand Axes is a joke, so I decide to move him to the square directly under the house and end turn
Tumblr media
thank fuck.
Tumblr media
sure
Tumblr media
this pirate was also in range, but Anakin will be fine.
Tumblr media
Shuuda’s poisoned, by the way. And had a 1/3 chance to lose more than half his remaining health. Starting to regret bringing him.
Tumblr media
I want to bring Kevin over to help, but I cleverly locked him in here til he kills this merc. The merc can actually do (a single point twice) damage to him! Except said merc misses both counterattacks
Tumblr media
having no means of healing, the Merc is forced to impale themself on Kevin’s... uh. anyways.
Tumblr media
fucking ridiculous
Tumblr media
Shuuda bravely runs away
Tumblr media
giving Anakin the Boots was a fucking masterstroke
Tumblr media
Well, at least he hasn’t pulled a Storm yet
Tumblr media
Thought I jinxed myself, but on the Player phase he delivers!
Tumblr media
Anakin puts some pep into his step for a decent level.
Tumblr media
You get points for actually dodging all the hand axes so far.
Tumblr media
I know he’s underleveled, but Shuuda can’t double this Pirate with anything heavier than an Iron/Emblem sword and it’s making me sad
Tumblr media
I determine that Shuuda can survive a hit from the archer and give him another turn to finish the job
Tumblr media
that’s... okay. Not really a Redemption Level(TM) but i’ll take it. Strength!
Tumblr media
Blessedly, the archer doesn’t think to use the Short Bow, which means a) no crit and b) no melee counter
Tumblr media
With Anakin’s help, he kills the archer - one thing Shuuda does have going for him is both high Skill and an accurate weapon, so there’s no sweating over misses that there might otherwise be
Tumblr media
I totally forgot this Pirate had a Venom Axe, so Kevin also gets poisoned, which is p much the only way this poor Pirate can deal him any damage
Tumblr media
he pokes the Pirate for an odd but totally acceptable level. I don’t think I realized his Skill was so low, either, but since almost nothing can damage him it’s not nearly as much of an issue.
Tumblr media
Fortunately, Shuuda was standing on Forest and thus does not get his Poison status topped off. Seriously, he’s almost cured, that would have been really annoying.
Tumblr media
You now have more Resistance than Defense. What the heck.
Tumblr media
one thing this game really impresses on you is how important HP in levels can be. Even those Archers had 30 HP - making them hard to kill even with their low-ish defenses. And Eduardo’s tank of HP makes him hard even for mages to kill.
Tumblr media
another trick weapon is gained
Tumblr media
We’ve killed everything but the boss, so we’re doing visitations. I COULD use Anakin’s Cavalier Move(TM) to zip around and do it, but I could also pick up some EXP while we’re waiting.
Tumblr media
Anakin’s (voice-acted) Motivation quote varies whether or not you have his animations on. It’s a nice touch. Also he and Kevin are a good pair here, since he has enough Move that essentially two turns of Kevin running around and he’s still in range.
Tumblr media
ayup. Zoro moves. Glad I didn’t put Anakin in his range earlier
thankfully, he manages to miss Kevin twice thanks to the Forest and WTD
Tumblr media
now here’s something interesting: Onigiri ignoring Defense apparently also applies to the Forest bonus. just a neat little thing.
Also, if not for WTD, Kevin would actually be a bit at risk here, since it DOES take Advantage/Disadvantage into account in terms of damage dealt. Meaning that two connecting attacks would kill Kevin outright.
Fortunately, Kevin is absurdly dodgy for some reason and takes not a single hit from the thing.
Tumblr media
Anakin kills him for nearly 100 EXP and a Very Monk level. I’ll take it. (and the sword)
Tumblr media
funny thing: there’s a convo after the battle where Zoro reference’s Kelik’s swordplay (because he’s fought Kelik’s brother and we need to know this) but Kelik wasn’t in the actual fight. I’d go as far as to say that Kelik should have been required instead of Anakin, but there could be coding issues preventing that.
anyways.
