went to watch the Monaco GP (Formula 1 race, for my non-F1 pals) at the pub with friends for the first time earlier, and ngl it was a bit of a hot mess — volume was on super quiet, they literally changed channels to the football just after the race restarted post-red flag (this part was supposedly an accident — they meant to only change half the TVs but we had to wait like 15 mins for someone to fix it), there were things in front of the TV so we couldn't even see the whole screen, etc etc.

But! it was still fun regardless, even if my friends did all wanna go home straight after the race and I wanted to celebrate. It was a learning experience, at least! & I was very very excited about the result, even if the race itself was a slow one, and I was v thankful to have the group chat and tumblr to give me the full race celebration experience :))

As someone who uses Tumblr almost exclusively in mobile I would like to complain that I can't see the little blue checks on mobile @staff how will I know if someone is important or not.

The assistant manager at work drives me so fucking BONKERS bc almost every interaction we have is 90% fine and normal, but then she says something that is JUST a little rude in a way that like. HAS to be intentional.

Like, she came into my classroom during lunch and asked if she could get some of our leftover food off the cart, and I said sure bc we all had food and the kids weren't crazy enough about it to eat everything left over, and while she was getting food she asked if the coleslaw was any good and I was like "idk, I'm not eating it."

A response to this, if one was EVEN WARRANTED, could have been like, "Oh, you don't eat coleslaw?" or "well, I'll get some and see for myself" or "ok" and shut up and get your coleslaw and leave. But instead she said, "are you a picky eater Ms. LeeAnn?"

Which immediately puts me in a situation where I have to either confess to being a picky eater or try to convince her that I'm not, both of which are more conversation than I want to be having with the assistant manager when I'm in the middle of talking to better and more interesting people (a table full of half-asleep toddlers covered in snot and drool, with a collective vocabulary of ~50 words). So I just said "I am when it comes to coleslaw," and went back to talking to my gross kids.

And that's like. Every conversation with her. She picks the most inflammatory way to respond to something I say, even if I did not need or want a response, and if I don't do or say anything that she can be rude to me in response to, she looks for something to comment on. "Your classroom is always such a hot mess 😊" "Ms. LeeAnn, you're working harder, not smarter 😉" "It's so funny how you leave these handouts on the podium instead of giving it directly to the parents, as if they're actually going to take them 😆"

A fun part of working down the street from a fairly large concert venue is that every week there’s someone famous in a tour van parked right next to my work parking deck and most of the time I have no idea who the performers are because it’s not what I listen to but even when I don’t it’s fun to observe how they act or hear how they treat people from the friends I’ve made at the venue, today there’s a singer I know (tiktok viral romance song) and I just watched him walk down the street and people who were waiting outside the venue started the yell for him and he just turned towards them and smiled a very sweet smile and waved. Usually performers aren’t too willing to leave the area from the tour bus to the venue so it was pretty cool to see this seemingly nice man who has more fame than I probably ever will jay walking on the same street that I jay walk on

yeah vlr’s still haunting me somehow and i take finding a copy of 999 as another reason. (watched a youtuber i used to watch often play it. don’t remember much about 999 except that it was really good. may play it sometime soon.) also have a boxed copy of the first fossil fighters game so good to have the sequel boxed is neato. the atlus booth was handing out free p3r tote bags so i got one. bought the 30th anniversary poster but it got slightly curved in the (not pictured) second tote bag they gave me lol. finally got a foxy plush after wanting one for so long yet never getting it since i thought it would be cringe but fuck it gonna make 12 y/o me happy. also used this as an opportunity to expand my pin collection and stuff to attach onto my messenger bag :)

there was a lot of stuff i also wanted but i didn’t want to spend too much plus 90% of merch that was being sold is also easily available online (i’m sure there’s some pax only merch i unintentionally glossed over not including merch promoting pax). only got some in person because why tf not. at least i learned about a couple more game stores i can check out once i get that collecting kick again. and on a semi unrelated note thank you to the aerith cosplayer who was super in character by handing me one of the flowers in her bouquet. i’m somewhat allergic and the smell of flowers overstimulates me yet i appreciated it a lot.
