I love your works, especially the serial killer ghoap ones. I’ve had this thought on my mind for a bit. It’s not really dark, more fluffy(?) I just started playing ACNH again and it got me thinking, would serial killer ghoap let reader have a switch? I mean, poor reader has seen so much shit and needs at least a little bit of normalcy in their life. Ofc ghoap would monitor them while they played and such, which leads me to my next part. Let’s say reader has gotten stockholm syndrome and isn’t super phased by all the gore in stuff. Reader just sits in a little corner that maybe has pillows or blankets OR a cage that has pillows and blankets and shit like that. But reader just stays in that corner playing their switch while ghoap does their murder stuff. Idk, I feel it’d be a cute image. my reader inserts tend to be massive pushovers (mostly in an attempt to not give them so strong of a personality as to be distracting) but the serial killer girl is soft. i think the contrast of really rough ghoap with really soft reader is Primo.

but i also think ghost and soap would fucking eat UP having a soft little thing to take care of. i think this version of them would really get off on the corruption of it all, coming to their girl covered in blood and watching her try to keep her stuffies from getting stained red :( they loooove watching her get all teary and sniffly when they make her watch them torture people, love watching the way she tries to hide her pretty face :(

Keigo plays with a small part of your hair with a calm smile. His wings are wrapped around the two of you while you sit on his lap, his red feathers protecting you from the rest of the world. Keigo rests is head on your shoulder, watching you click clack away on the joy-cons.

Keigo, being a complete push-over, had bought you a Nintendo Switch when you had asked him. Of course, being the number two hero, he had enough money to get you all the expensive games you wanted, like Pokémon Sword and Mario Cart 8 Deluxe. However you had attached yourself to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, playing it as long as you could before Keigo pulled the console out of your hands.

Keigo, having got you what you asked for, asked for affection in return. Of course, you accepted. So you’ve been sitting on his lap for probably an hour and a half at this point, your legs are falling asleep but you continue playing, selling your turnips for the hot price of five hundred bells.

Keigo truly wasn’t interested in the game you were playing, probably because he never played video games as a child. Keigo just wanted to cuddle you, so he just cuddled you and listened to your sweet voice while you explained your favorite game.

“It’s you” You giggle, moving your in-game-character to face a villager in the game who was a chicken. Keigo playfully pouts “I am not a chicken” He chuckles, you’re to cute. You lean back more into his chest, now leaning more to the side so that you can rest your cheek on his chest. Keigo now rests his head on top of yours continuing to watch you play.

“Yes, you are! You’re a chicken!” You giggle to yourself. Keigo lets out a dramatic gasp, before using his feathers to tickle your sides, causing you to burst out in laughter. “Ah! Ok, ok! You’re not a chicken! Have mercy!” You laugh loudly, before collapsing against his chest. Now that he’s not tickling you, you go back to calmly playing your game.

“You should get a Switch, then we could play together” you say softly, not moving your eyes from the screen. A self-satisfied-smile creeps onto Keigo’s face. He’s so happy with you. You’ve come so far from being scared of him or begging him for freedom. Now, you’re cuddling with him and asking him to play video games with you.

“I don’t play video games, duckling” Keigo states, matter of factly, still resting his head on top of yours. You look up at him with a pout on your face. Keigo can practically feel his heart melting in his chest. You’re eyes, instead of being focused on planting in game flowers, are know focused on his face.

“Well, then I could teach you” you say, looking back down at your console. Well, he can’t argue with that logic. Maybe he will get one, just so he can play with you.

When the rest of inarizaki comes over to visit, he ends up getting slaughtered for his lack of “appealing scenery” and influx of weeds 😭 Osamu, Suna, and Aran are leading the revolution

Do NOT invite this mf over to your island he will trample all over your flowers, INCLUDING the hybrids. Isn’t even aware of the damage he’s caused until you’re chasing him with an axe and gifting him trash every day for the next two weeks

Spending the night with Sakuya, Itaru, and Hisoka!

A/N: not a request but it’s been sitting in my folders since the Nightwalk event^^ might as well set it free ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ also experimenting with new formatting so tell me how y’all like it (it was bad - sora from the future)

➥ Sakuya

- You and him had just finished a project for chemistry class when you both realized how late it was.

- “Ah, it’s 1AM, I should get going-“

- “No! [Name], it’s too late and Veludo isn’t… very safe at night,” the pink haired boy started with a soft blush, “It’d be best y-you, stayed the night. Only if you want to!”

- That’s how you found yourself crashing on Citron and Sakuya’s room that night.

- At first it was kind of awkward, just the thought of laying in bed with your boyfriend made you lose your mind a bit- that is until he decides to give you one of his shirts and shorts for the night as he went to change.

- When he came out, you giggled a bit at the bunny-patterned pajama he was wearing.

- “You look so cute!” You’d exclaim as you pinched his cheek.

- “S-stwop,” his cheeks would grow a bright pink the more you complimented him.

- Citron, who had been out wandering the Veludo night-scene came home to you two laying on Sakuya’s bed snuggling into each other watching old Mankai tapes.

- After that, you both talked about theater and how excited you were for the future while listening to music Masumi had recommended to Sakuya earlier.

- By the time you both feel asleep, cuddled up together it was 6AM, thank god it was a weekend.

- Due to starting the sleepover late at night, you weren’t able to have the full experience; but the time you did have together was enough for Sakuya to have fallen in love with you all over again.

➥ Hisoka

- It’d been snowing that day, neither you nor Hisoka had taken that into account when you invited him over to your place.

- By the time he’d have to leave the roads were blocked by a thick layer of snow that seemed to keep piling up.

- “Hisoka, don’t worry! You can stay over the night, we’ll just call Izumi and explain it,” you reasoned it out rather quickly, probably due to Hisoka being extremely fond of your bed.

- After calling Izumi and assuring her that Hisoka was safe and sound, you decided to make this fun for both of you.

- “Ah, do I smell… marshmallows?” Hisoka woke up from his nap to find you fooling around making him some hot chocolate and microwave s’mores.

- “Mhm, since you’re staying over and it’s kind of cold, I thought that we could cuddle in bed eating something for the night.”

- You didn’t have to argue with him at all, all it took him was you and him cuddling in your bed with marshmallows to have him hooked.

- That’s how you and Hisoka spent his first night over at your place watching movies (probably some old romcom) and eating sweets, eventually he fell asleep cuddling your chest.

- You two woke up tangled in each other’s embrace and found that the snow was slowly melting, and so as a final treat you stayed warm in bed for the rest of the day until late in the afternoon.

- It wasn’t a super exciting night, but you enjoyed spending some extra time with him nonetheless.

➥ Itaru

- His dumbass had invited you over to his dorm to play a new game, that little shit didn’t bother reading the weather forecast to learn that a lightning storm was going to bestow Veludo way.

- You had no way to go since your car was in the repair shop and Itaru kind of felt guilty making you take the public transport and Sakyo wasn’t allowing him to use the car in case he crashed during the storm.

- So, you were now stuck staying over at the dorms, Izumi (being an absolute sweetheart) didn’t hesitate to lend you some clothes (from both hers and Itaru’s closet; “Don’t worry! If our stuff doesn’t fit we have like 18 other guys here raging from different sizes we got you”) for the night, she even offered to wash your clothes for you in case you needed it :’)

- Now, with some new clothes on, you’re in Itaru’s disgustingly messy room! He’s kind of awkward at first, like, sure you’re dating and shit but his room isn’t the nicest to stay over at.

- He suggests playing another round of the game he had shown you earlier so you do and you bet your ass he let you win because like… shut up you’re cute and he’s your boyfriend and he can level up later or whatever… dummy

- After some time, you’d ask if you have any quieter, more lowkey games and he pulls out ACNH and that’s when shit gets real.

- You bet your ass he already made you a villager and has a house for you and bought you clothes he thought were cute on you… say thank you Ruru~

- His island is very chaotic, it’s not messy but it’s like… ??? Sir?? What the fuck is going on?? He probably has a part that’s just water where he puts one ugly ass villager in it and makes it suffer, says it helps him unwind- someone call PETA on him plz

- Has so many snacks on hand, like you won’t need to go outside at all. He just asks you what snack you want and he just hands it to you, it’s very cute.

- Eventually when you get tired of AC, you both watch an anime or whatever his weeb ass pulls out, probably a slice of life for you and whenever the couple does something cheesy and cute he goes “omg let’s do that” to make you blush.

- I hate him but oh my god is he whipped for you.

- By the time you’re both tired and done with both gaming and binge watching shit, it’s like 4AM so you two climb on his bed and cuddle.

- It’s a weeby sleepover but it’s okay you both loved it.

augh i kept forgetting to post this because i kept wantgin to draw mroe for it but i really suck at emulating Animal Crossing Art Style so im just going to go on a rambling explanation about this under the cut but the basic concept is. they deserve a vacation. and whats more relaxing than animal crossing? probably several things but let me have this ok

id had a bunch of ideas for mroe drawings in this style but Clearly, i am not very good at it, and every time i sat down to Try Again it ended up shitty. this is from literally months ago by now lmao

my Basic Concept was just. take the 3 of them and dump them on an animal crossing island, cause while ive been sick ive been playing a lot of new horizons to try and stay stable, and my brain likes to mush together whatever 2-or-more things im invested in together all the time. here’s some bullet points!

-john really loves diving for sea critters and frequently pulls up those bigass lobsters and eels and shit, he’s got an unnatural knack for it. loves to startle the shit out of dave by just whipping an eel out of his pocket. no thats not an innuendo stop that-- -amy loves planting/watering the flowers but shes not like invested in getting All The Different Types (although that Would be neat) she’s just having fun building a large flower patch. it’s slowly overtaking the island. also dave likes to just kinda sit in the flower patch -speaking of dave he kind of doesnt do much, i think he’d like fishing with john and/or amy and maybe hed like digging up fossils but for the most part hes just chillin, as he deserves to be, -amy likes the DIY recipe stuff though and will frequently politely ask dave to go fetch stuff for her. this has led to most of the villagers/islanders/whateverthetermis, the animal citizens, to have their Main exposure to dave be him wandering around with an axe at 3am because amy’s out of hardwood -speaking of the animal citizens, because i just really like them as a concept, i have no solid concept of who-all would be on their island but whoever they are, john is “friends” with All of them (and by that i mean he says theyre all his friends; whether or not they find him obnoxious Varies,) and amy is genuine friends with most of them/has spoken to all of them at least, and dave rarely if ever speaks to them. hes not very social. most of the animals are a little scared of him until they Actually get to talk to him and then they realize hes just an awkward misanthropic bastard -also in case it wasnt clear id think the 3 of them would all be in one little cabin i mean you can upgrade the shit out of those so they could all feasibly have their own spaces. but also i like polyamory and id say they all 3 share a room because fight me they do itd be cute. also of course the decor of their cabin is absolutely bonkers like listen not only does animal crossing have some weird items but nearly any living space john inhabits most likely has some very strange decor in it !  -tbh actually i think john would do Most of the decor stuff cause like based on the way his house is described i think he’d go NUTS for animal crossing’s Theme Decor Shit i dont know i dont actually do a bunch of that but i sure do think he would! amy would help out esp since she likes the DIY stuff, and i think dave is just kind of ..... allowing this nonsense to happen. letting john be free. probably convincing him to not change the theme every day, maybe every week, if only because it’s a bit of a hassle to have everything Constantly Rearranged.  -hang on wait i just thought of the 3 of them wandering along the beach and picking up seashells and now im like emotional over it bro pls. lovely. -also i jsut realized if daves the guy who digs up fossils he definitely talks to blathers a lot and thats an extremely funny thing to contemplate. the dude who seems to not really liek talking to people and the chatterbox owl. fantastic. you know dave is probably too awkward to tell blathers he doesnt want to hear all thsoe archaeopteryx facts! (also tbh maybe dave would actually like learning stuff) -also. john catches bugs just to give them to blathers and watch him freak out just a little about it.  -john always ends up buying fake art from redd but it’s fine because he just puts it somewhere in or near their cabin. amy however has the uncanny good luck to somehow always find the real artworks! dave doesnt talk to redd, he doesnt really care. -this ones definitely projection because my animal crossing island is a mess (And I Like It That Way Thank U Very Much) but john definitely is the guy who will dump extra furniture at random spots on the island. too much shit in storage? don’t need that Harmonious Chair right now? holding it in ur pockets just because u dont know where else to put it? just dump it on the ground! uncannily, john fuckin Always remembers where he’s put that shit when he happens to need it again. however this does mean sometimes the animal citizens will just ... find a mysterious new chair in their front yard.  -i know that terraforming is a new thing in acnh but i havent done it yet because i dont care about the whole 3 stars rating thing like listen im jsut here to run around and fill the museum if i feel like it but mostly pick up pumpkins and hoard bells for no reason and let my island be taken over by wildflowers. if any of the 3 are into that tho its john or amy--john just for the hell of it, amy would actually like try to Make Stuff of it -their front yard (and back yard if their cabin is put somewhere to allow that) is full of unused furniture as well. and also sometimes random dropped fruits or something, if dave is already carrying a ton when he sees something to dig up. -i think im out of shit to say right now but i might reblog to add mroe so. yes. if youve read this far then holy shit youre dedicated or really bored or something but whatever your reason is i hope this was A Fun Read and if it gave you any ideas Please Tell Me my inbox is open im sick and still in quarantine and i crave human interaction from literally anyone who isnt my parents. thank u

Animal Crossing Fangame-Rambling, idk

Been home from school today and playing ACNH and-

I was already burnt out before but its worse than I remember so watch me ramble about what I’d love to see in an Animal Crossing Game (which would probably make it less animal crossing and more like a stardew valley-animal crossing-cozy grove-bastard child-)

Just-

Give me a tiny city to rule over. I don’t want a big-ass island that I have to plan every inch of and move shit around to fit buildings in and decorate to make it look nice and if I don’t decorate it looks like I’m just a hobo squatting out on an island in the middle of the ocean catching bugs to a fukkn raccoon (cmon tell me that doesn’t sound like the fucking juice Nook gave you at the beginning was a drug)

Like- a mixture of City Folk and New Leaf. You’re a Mayor, you move into a tiny almost-abandoned city in the middle of bumfuck-nowhere, there’s a bunch of closed-down shops around, absolutely nothing’s going on, there’s only like three other villagers living there who are super fucking old and don’t want to sell their houses coz “I raised THIRTY kids in this house, I will NOT be moving out!!!” (in addition to that, give me more old-looking villagers. I want a senior-home filled with old dudes and dudettes like Doby just ranting about today’s youth and giving you terrible dating advice like “Back in my day we just threw bricks with notes glued on at each other” “Please don’t do that”)

And idk-

It’s just a fucking ghost-town when you first move in and the NPCs are all super depressed and don’t even fucking care anymore, Blathers damn-near has a heart attack when you first approach him cause he hasn’t seen a new face around town in forever. And basically- its just your quest to bring this town back to its former glory. Like- you actually have more power as the Mayor, not like in New Leaf where you could only build stuff (that you had to pay for yourself rip)

And at the beginning you can choose the town’s general aesthetic, like, Japanese, cottage, modern, cute, etc etc... and the more qests you get done the more the town gets restored and actually starts to look like this aesthetic. And no more villager-houses with a specific look, instead it’s just general houses that fit the town’s look or small apartments with multiple villagers living in them-

And when searching for a new villager you don’t have to wait for one to randomly move in or go island-hopping or pay a fortune for each one on nookazon, instead you just get like 10 applications every week until the town is full. You can choose one or multiple of them, or none at all and it gets reset the next day.

And give me some QUESTS!!! I love animal crossing so much, but it’s so frustrating to play if you don’t have your own goal set in mind for what you want to do, so you just run around and do nothing? Or is that just me rip

aNyWaYs- like stardew valley, just give me a quest-board where the villagers can ask for stuff or help them out in other ways, like “can someone help me redecorate my house?” or “I need a new look!” or stuff like that, and you can just change the villager’s interior design or give them a new set of clothes (in addition to that, give the villagers pants! are we fukkn disney or why do they only get to wear shirts and no pants)

And the museum has more stuff to donate to? Like, flowers and vegetables or stuff? Idk, just add a new npc that has you collect all kinds of flora and donate (also, rewards for donating!! my monkey-brain needs a REASON to donate and collect stuff. Stardew, it’s the rewards, Cozy Grove, it’s the rewards....) And you get a little garden or green-house and can plant stuff there, and not just flowers but vegetables, and when they’re grown you can donate the plant itself and a once-dead botanic area turns all green!!

aND TOPIC NPCS

Give me some new npcs to love!! Like- maybe give Melinda an assistant? Like, a bat or some other nocturnal animal??? And while Melinda has the day-shifts as your assistant, the Bat has the night-shifts so you can still do mayor-stuff at night and Melinda gets  to have a break every once in a while. And Celeste will help Blathers in the museum again to bring back the stargazing-feature from CIty Folk??

And Timmy and Tommy are now teenagers that run Nook’s Cranny? Like- they’re more relaxed and chill now and don’t chase you around the store anymore, just stand there behind the register looking tired as ever. Maybe even give them little ear-piercings to show they’re rebels now, rip. And they’ll refer to Tom Nook as “Pops” or “Old Man”, and tell some stuff about their childhood when you just talk to them. And one of them could work at Redd’s on the weekend (also Redd, plz give him his own store that opens every weekend).... and Nook can be seen in his store every once in a while. They don’t admit it but Redd and Nook are now in couples’ therapy (Timmy and Tommy forced them and will reference it sometimes)

And pleeeease, give Timmy and Tommy some freetime. Like- Nook runs the store until 12pm until they take over and run it until closing. And on days where the shop is closed they can be seen walking around town and hanging out with the villagers.

And some cutscenes please T__T Like, only for the NPCs on holiday or so, but then you’d get to see Celeste and Blathers sitting in the park to stargaze whenever there’s a meteor-shower, or Melinda, your Player and her assistant sharing some hot cocoa on christmas, the Nooklings wishing Nook a happy father’s day, Nook and Redd going out on Valentine’s day.... Halloween has them all dress up, the Nooklings try to prank you while Nook takes over the store for the day... the Sable-sisters close their shop to go out and show off their handmade costumes.

The villagers already had hobbies in ACNH, like reading and nature or something.... but how about they reference these hobbies, and do stuff thats connected to that, other than staring at flowers and sitting under trees. Like, have them say how they went to their book-club in the next town and how they hate the long drive per train and then they ask you to fix up the library so that the town can have its own book-club? Or sporty villagers will talk about how they went swimming or jogging and got hurt because the old paths are all fucked and there’s no good way to enter/exit the lake, so they ask you to renovate the paths and build a little dock? Idk man, just- give them more personality! SOmething that makes me want to talk to them, not just so I can cross off ‘talking to villagers’ on my to-do-list

idk, a dump where an opposum lives and that teaches you diy-recipes. but instead of giving you cards you get a little clip of the oppossum and your player working at a diy-bench and if you know it already it offers to teach you something new until you learned everything, then it just sends you rare materials in the mail like “hey, thought you’d like this!”

this is all a dream, nintendo cant even give us the cafè, rip.

Realistic and ambitious suggestions for future ACNH updates

Hey everyone, I’ve composed a list of suggestions that I think could be realistic, quality of life improving, and fun, for future updates, as well as a few more ambitious ones. I’ve posted on reddit as well for potential visibility as it seems like the developers have listened to what players have wanted in the past (e.g. new reaction ability to sit). Please feel free to add your own suggestions or thoughts; note that many of these ideas I’ve seen circulated before but haven’t been incorporated into the game yet:

Customizable fences; e.g. mossy stone fence, flowering hedge. Also a string lights fence would be so pretty, modern, and great for any season, it could turn on only at night like the decorated cedar trees.

Reduce the amount of new flowers that spawn from the snow/rain; it’s always a chore with at least 10-20 new flowers each time. Reducing the spawn rate or only having flowers grow by watering once your island has a certain amount could be a good compromise.

Allow trees to be planted on the edge of land or a cliff like bushes; since bushes can already be planted this way, it doesn’t make much sense to me that trees can’t. This would allow us to be more creative with our islands, and is more true to reality with erosion and such.

Ability to buy placed furniture items from villager’s homes like in New Leaf; it’s hard to say no when villagers ask for items from your pockets, which has led to many of them having messy or unaesthetic houses that are stubborn to change despite gifting new furniture.

Add wiggle room between furniture placed half a square apart like in Happy Home Designer; I loved this feature, it would let more furniture be usable and save space, e.g. a chair or couch that can only be sat in from the front placed in front of a table, we currently need a whole square of space to be able to walk and sit, but it uses up a lot of space and can look awkward.

Brewster and a cafe; I’m hoping this is already a planned addition but I’m adding it to reiterate how much it’s wanted. Visiting the cafe was one of my favourite parts of New Leaf, I loved strolling around town with my takeaway coffee or sitting in the cafe with a friend. A cycling visit from Brewster with a stall (like Kicks or Leif) would be better than nothing, having a permanent cafe in the museum or as an independent building would make the game feel much more complete though.

More design slots; I’ve seen this requested a lot, it does feel limiting how many we have now, and that the number is shared between players on the same island, which is even more limiting. Being able to purchase more slots, like in a recent update with house inventory and Nook Mile Tickets, would be great.

Allow direct access to materials when crafting inside house; this would make crafting more seamless and easy, I was surprised when this wasn’t how crafting indoors already worked.

New bridge and incline options; I’m quite happy with the current available options, it would add more variety and inspiration to have new ones added, such as a cute/fairy tale bridge in white, pink, or green (I’m thinking a style similar to the iron garden furniture) or a rainbow or gold bridge.

Allow more bridges and inclines to be built; I think even just one or two more would make a big difference in terms of creativity and mobility with our islands. Also, I totally anticipated that we would need materials to build these, such as stone or wood; perhaps adding the option of providing materials to reduce the cost of building could help new players save money and feel more immersive with a “building from the land” feel, while also keeping the option to only pay in bells for ease and simplicity.

Here are more amibitious suggestions that may be less realistic but I think would still be great:

More multiplayer content such as mini-games; players have been creative in coming up with games to play with others in New Horizons, I do miss the ones from New Leaf which could actually be quite fun and challenging and didn’t require work on our part. I’ve seen theories that the dock could eventually be a port for Kapp’n to take us to a mini game island, this would be amazing.

Ability to use tools/Nook Phone while sitting; I understand this may be less doable, given that sitting is a reaction in the game, I think it would make the game more immersive though. It feels jarring when I’m sitting then need to stand up to use the Nook Phone and sit down again if I want to take a picture. Fishing while sitting or even something as simple as blowing bubbles would also be nice.

Allow bridges to be made between cliffs (not just directly over water); this would allow more mobility and creativity with our islands, the suspension bridge seems like a perfect example of this aesthetically.

Ability to swim in lakes/rivers; I think it would be so fun, especially if we were able to jump off bridges. This would make the water areas of the island feel more usable and more immersive.

Ponds not connected to a river freeze over in the winter; there doesn’t seem to be any fish only catchable in ponds in the winter anyway, it would be cool to be able to walk over these in the winter.

I think it’s important to note that I absolutely love New Horizons and am so grateful for all the improvements and great changes made since New Leaf, which was easily my favourite Animal Crossing game before this one, and for all the improvements already made through updates. I’m excited to see what else waits for us in future updates, whether from this list or not.

but lolly’s cute give him 5 mins to fall in love w god cat

sends you cute in-game love letters when you’re headass six feet away from each other in real time

but it’s ok they’re cute and he likes making you blush

brings his pretty flowers to your island he also steals yours but that’s okay

dumbfounded by your blatant aggression towards certain villagers

offers to “trade” villagers with you to make you happy and marshal scares him please take marshal from him

yes he’ll bring you cute snacks as if you were studying

overall happy that you found something you enjoy together, but will make you take frequent breaks so you don’t put off whatever you actually have to do too much

didn’t get the hype at first. bought the game since he thought it had to be super fun if you were ignoring him for hours at a time to go bug catching LMFAO

yet when he downloads it there’s a catch

mr epic gamer, unlike you, has the luck of a god and generates an actual island paradise and probably gets a ton of shooting star fragments too 😔✊🏻

you’re the one stealing from his island, but it’s okay he loves you 💕

and he doesn’t quite understand the game yet

gives you star fragments because you can’t get any and he doesn’t want you all sad because you can’t make a wand!!

has all the cute villagers, but if any try to move will give them to you

pays off your tom nook debt because with his luck it probably takes him less than an hour to get filthy rich in game

also figures out the qr code outfits early on. yes he’ll try to make you one, yes he’ll make himself match

overall, he gets the game because of you but does it better because it’s yunho why wouldn’t he xoxo

still makes sure you’re doing what you need to before you go off to work on your island for six hours; the type to offer game rewards he magically obtains as a prize for you after you finish your daily work

probably persuaded you to buy it with him so he could rob your island of all your goods

makes you both reset the game until your islands both have good items but are different

so he can steal your fruit :D

“dates” where you guys lie on his bed with your consoles, literally just exploring each other’s islands

y’all practically end up sharing two islands. that’s how much you play together

invites you to go raid the other members’ islands

cursed humor carries into the game; like he’ll send you crackhead mail when you least expect it and the content WILL be something that’s only funny because it’s Yeosang

“you make me so incredibly happy, y/n. almost as happy as when tom nook first handed me my nookphone. almost”

overall impartial to your obsession, rather he’s glad he has someone to steal from share with

still will make you take breaks with him. he loves that you’ve got a pretty island but you need to take care of yourself sweetie

by that i mean he’s backseat gamer all the way, no i do not accept criticism

ACNH dream journal #11 - Dahab @mika-crossing

Welcome to Dahab, a peaceful and beautiful place to live! I had a really nice time visiting the island, and I was impressed by how flowery the town is. The colors and types fit so well together and they really make the atmosphere of the island feel calm and relaxing. The beaches areas were super cute and felt summer-y and the waterfalls were amazing!

The house was also really stunning, I loved how the rooms were cluttered but in a way that made sense and was really beautiful. I just wanted to live there lol!

I also really loved the small areas, the little places to sit, to read, to relax, it was all so pretty, the villagers using the objects must really be super cute! I especially loved the lavender fiels (what can I say, I have one too) and the little apiary. However what I loved the most were the views, there were sooo many beautiful spots to just appreciate the landscapes! It was stunning!

Do any of the Papas and Copia (Popia? How do we refer to him now?!) play Animal Crossing, and if so what are their towns and play styles like?

Papas + Copia playing Animal Crossing

Papa Nihil: Never got into video games- even when they were brand new. He’s played his fair share of Asteroids and Pong, but didn’t really see the appeal past social bonding. Animal Crossing is easy enough for him to understand and control! Luckily someone downloaded Pocket Camp for him, as it’s the only one he will play. Nihil is so charmed by the cute characters and how easy going it is. Sometimes it’s a little too saccharine and childish for him- but it’s delightful and helps him relax. 

Nihil doesn’t play often, but it’s something he can do when he’s particularly bored or needs something to focus on. His pocket camp is pretty average, if not littered with very expensive special items (you know he’s casually dropped $50 to get the fortune cookies he wants!) All of his campers are incredibly happy- and he has a ton of friends on his list. Also does all the events and is very pleased to display and show off any trophy items! 

Papa I: Unintentionally the winner of Competitive Animal Crossing. Papa picks up video games once in a while when he has time- he thinks they are modern wonders of story telling and symbolism. He already has a penchant for JRPGs and any open world gaming. He’s the type of person who does all of the side quests on a video game, get perfect scores, and knows how to get the best armor and skill tree combos. Animal Crossing has always been a chill break for him. 

Almost immediate five star island on New Horizons. His entire island is almost a DIY perfect copy of his home cathedral. Even the villagers have all taken clergy uniform designs he meticulously recreated in the Able Sister’s shop. Has gold roses but prefers the black ones. His island is definitely one of those incredibly detailed and styled ones that barely look like an animal crossing one anymore. Sometimes he grumps at the fact you can’t switch colors or the layout of the NPC shops and areas. They break the flow of his island! Once he gets his museum full, all his debts paid, and everything 100% he’s a bit bored of the game and moves onto the next one. 

Papa II: Not the biggest on softer video games, or most games in general. Papa has always been a man who prefers cards or some type of board game- something he can do with others and be more entertained. But he’s not entirely opposed to playing a bit just to see what the hype is about! Video games have just never been his style even if he can appreciate the technology advances from when he was a young man. He’s picked up a few different systems, mostly at the encouragement of his brothers and tried to play. He’s pretty decent at puzzle games and some shooters, believe it or not. 

Animal Crossing is something Papa appreciates for being super calming, but he does not like the cutsey style of it. Papa likes that there is so much small stuff you could do, but whenever he plays he just feels like he could be doing it in real life. Like yes, he can make this immaculately decorated little house on this cute little island... or he could finally buy that vacation home he wanted on a REAL island and decorate it with furniture that isn’t limited to color and style! Now THAT’S fun! Will play Animal Crossing for at least one long flight before shrugging and randomly the entire Switch to a random kid he sees at the airport. 

Papa III: Absolutely a big Animal Crossing fan- believe it or not! He’s not an HUGE gamer by any means, but he loves games when he gets a chance to play them! There was a few times he would sneak off Clergy grounds to go take friends to an Arcade back in the 80′s! Papa always likes to try something new and Animal Crossing was something he picked up when New Leaf came out and he bought a 3DS to help with touring boredom. Papa was immediately smitten with it and thought it was amazing and gushed about everything from the atmosphere to the little characters. The ghouls were definitely sick of hearing Papa figure out all the nice things you can do in video games by the end of it! 

Papa is the type to ALWAYS make your villager look as close to himself as possible (in any game he makes the PC look like him!) With his ACNH Island it is a perfect mix of him. His house is full and upgraded to the best of his ability. He’s got a room for different occasions- decorating a whole closet, sitting room, trophy room, and recreating his personal bedroom. He makes sure all of his villagers love him (and you KNOW for a fact he went out of his way to populate his island with villagers HE likes.) The island itself is beyond 5 stars with an entire garden, stage, fountains, and as many black, gold, and purple flowers you can get! Super extra, and he loves showing it off! Will slap you in person if you pick his flowers without permission.

Cardinal Copia/Papa IV: Actually doesn’t mind playing video games, he just doesn’t have the time for them! Animal Crossing has always been a good series, because you don’t have to sit down and play three hours just to get ahead in a complicated plot to enjoy the game! It’s a nice way for him to unwind. Funnily enough, as skilled as he is with so  many things he is actually very bad at video games. So he’s never gotten into platformers or shooters, or even MMO’s. Visual novels and minecraft/harvestmoon types are far better for him! 

Copia’s Island house would be very modest. He COULD upgrade it and make it super nice like Papa III’s- but he feels like all of his bells should go back into the village. 10/10 the guy who would NEVER sell anything gifted to him by the villagers, and ALWAYS keeps projects or items THEY want on the island. Copia wants all of his cute little animal friends to be happy. At the same time, his Avatar looks exactly like him. He painstakingly recreated his Papal attire and wardrobe for the game. He still wants everyone to know he’s in charge! IT’s honestly endearing when he talks about ‘leading’ the village as well as he does the clergy.

Things I’d like to see in ACNH updates

More items (obviously) but not just event/premium/subscription stuff, things everyone can enjoy because let’s be honest, base game items (not including colour variations) are pretty thin on the ground

More items you/villagers can interact with — dip in the hot springs anyone?? 😀

To be able to give one of your custom designs to a specific villager (sometimes you don’t want everyone to be able to wear it)

The option to move the Resident Services building for those of us with OCD over symmetry and want it to line up with the entrance from the airport 😩

To be able to add things to a basket in the Able Sisters fitting room (sometimes I want all the colours but can only wear one at a time!!)

Bushes, or at least some kind of hedge fence? Preferably with flowers you can customise the colours of 😊🌺

Different placement options for wearing flowers (hair, lapel, wrist...)

The ability to sit down on the ground like the villagers can

Maybe even the ability to lay on your stomach with your chin propped up in your hands? 🥰

Toggle on/off option for natural edges to custom paths in Island Designer

A way to invite a villager over to your house (not where they ping you and ask to come over right this second, that’s just annoying)

Maybe even the ability to arrange little get togethers with 2 or 3 villagers — not necessarily just at your house, could be a picnic, a trip to the museum, or just a stroll around the island as a group

More variety in the things villagers can say to you (seriously, the conversation repertoire got old on like day 1)

More villager quests/mini games/challenges/variation in the Nook Miles + tasks

A separate storage space for crafting materials!!! (I have a 5 room house now and I’m STILL having to bargain with myself over whether crafting materials or clothes get priority... my island is a MESS as a result 😩)

Less difficulty getting hold of the other fruits and basic colours of flowers — I must have gone to a hundred mystery islands now (not literally but close to) and all I’ve seen are pears (my island is peaches) tulips (my native) and windflowers (can get in my shop)

More plants!

The ability to water indoor plants on floor and table level (no reason, would just be cute 🥺)

More pro design templates!!! I don’t want to have to choose between a dress with long sleeves OR long skirt, and the option to do swimsuits and bottoms so you can mix and match custom outfit elements would be AMAZING

More consumables (ice cream, coffee, sweets... omg imagine if you could craft a cake or a pizza and share it in pieces with friends/villagers)

Brewster!!! But not running just a coffee shop this time — I think it’s time he expanded and hired someone to provide baked goods too!

I wish the campsite visitor could come out of their tent and actually experience/interact with the island/villagers 😔

Swimming!! I miss diving for creatures and meeting Pascal bobbing around

But also it’d be super fun if we could put special items on the water like furniture, such as lilos, rubber rings, a bouncy castle or inflatable island..!!

Some kind of secret hidden area you have to find/do things to unlock, like sea cave/grotto you can only enter from the mysterious rocky back end of the island and occasionally gets a special visitor... 🧜🏻‍♀️

Artists on Their Favorite and Least Favorite Animal Crossing Villagers

In the world of hard-hitting journalism, few topics are as divisive and polarizing as Animal Crossing, namely the subject of best and worst villagers. From tier lists to spending an obscene amount of Nook Miles tickets in the search of the “perfect” villager, the release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons has brought with it a seedy blackmarket. Want a smug office working cat with heterochromia? Well, I hope you are prepared to shell out upwards of 20 million bells. 

From Queer Eye’s Bobby Berk critiquing players’ virtual homes to Elijah Wood sliding in your DMs to sell turnips, seemingly no one is safe from this newfound reality. So, as we navigate our way through a world in which Bobby isn’t pleased with my island home having a room dedicated solely to turnip storage, we posed one impossible question to a few of our favorite artist friends. “Who is your favorite and least favorite Animal Crossing villager?”

He cares very much about my sick gains, and I appreciate it to no end.

My least favorite villager is Zucker, who is an octopus that most other players seem to love, but boy, he's challenging. His head resembles takoyaki, which is to say, a fried dough ball filled with minced octopus, impaled on a stick and drizzled with brown sauce. What dark magics breathed life into Zucker? Should I want to eat him? Because I kind of do, and I don't need that energy on my island, thanks.”

“Villagers can be a very controversial topic in the Animal crossing community. There seems to be two types of people when it comes to villager preferences - the ones who just love them all equally, and the ones who unapologetically have an overwhelming hatred for specific animals in the game. I’m of course totally against bullying in most cases, but animal crossing villagers are the one exception. 

I won’t name names about the ones I hate in the game as not to hit any nerves for anyone reading, but for example there’s this one resident I have - let’s just say her name rhymes with Banberra - who has being going around pissing off all my best friends in town. She leaves my sweet Sydney and Marina walking around furious for no good reason. I’ve been trying to bully her out of my town but she’s been there since the beginning and seems adamant on staying. She’s my least favourite right now because of how she’s been treating my other villagers.

As for favourites, I could go on forever!! In my current town, Poncho was one of my first two villagers and I decided we’re best buds. He’s a jock villager so is always talking about pumping iron, and I love him so much that I built a whole outdoor gym for him in my town. I tend to unconditionally love the Octopus and Frog villagers. He doesn’t really count as a villager, but my favourite character in the whole game is Leif. I would literally put my life on the line if it meant his flowers would bloom perfectly.”

“Pietro is my favorite ACNH villager even though I don’t have him on my island (yet)!!!!!  I think he gets a lot of hatred thrown his way for being a clown, which I personally relate to, and he is colorful and cute and fun and sheepy and I would lay down my life for him. He is by far my favorite villager since I got him in my town in New Leaf.

My least favorite villager is Moose, even though I weirdly still respect him for being so ugly and notorious amongst the ACNH community. In fact, I would almost call myself a fan of him just because of how gross and hilarious I think his little manly mouse face is. I would not want him in my town ever, but I am an advocate of Ugly ACNH Villagers’ Rights so I wouldn’t hit him with a net or be mean to him if he were to visit. (Would NOT ask him to move in though.)”

“My personal favorite character is (not surprisingly) K.K Slider. Any dog with that much swag and music playing ability deserves all the love and respect in the world. As for my least favorite it’d probably have to be Pietro. Something about a creepy clown like that just doesn’t sit right with me, It’s just so creepy looking. An honorable mention would be Papi the horse, simply because his name is Papi. Like c’mon that’s hilarious! Plus his dreams of being a comic book writer remind me of when I wanted to be a comic artist when I was much younger.”

“I love Roald. He is a weird little beady-eyed dude, but I adore him. He was one of the villagers in my town back when I played Animal Crossing on the GameCube. Penguins were my favorite animal at the time, so I was so happy when he moved in. He is just a dumb little baby and I love him for it. Bonus fav character is Coco. She is just so weird and creepy and cute. She is my wife. She will be my wife. 

My least favorite villager is Colton. F Colton!! He showed up in my camp and wouldn't leave until I let him live in my village. I report him every day to Isabelle, but it seems to make no difference. In his biography it says his skill is ‘Writing about pickles;’ what the hell? stfu Colton. Write about pickles in someone else's town!!!”

Animal Crossing New Horizons meets The Magnus Archives (mixing my favourite things together bc why not)

Things in ACNH that shows with what TMA  entity you are aligned:

Eye: Basically your entire screenshots are villager doing stuff from afar, you have that ZL+top corner ready to go at any time, and how can you not if the villagers are so cute and you gotta be ready for the moment they interact with the random shit you have lying around, right? and also you have really big knowledge of all the customizable items in the game because you need to know if that item comes in pastel, or in white. 

Dark: Fishbait is your ally and that shadow on the water your passion, Fishing is Your Thing and you already know what fishy is gonna be by the sound and time it takes to bite. You mostly use the dramatic or b&w filter on the camera and go and your favourite excuse to close the game at night is when sunrise starts... so you go to sleep at some point.

Stranger: Villager hunting sounds fun! you never know who is it gonna be and you’ll never see them again (probably) and the magic wand is essential part of your outfit because every situation claims for a new makeover, right? and for some reason you are okay with Pietro roaming in your island.  you try your new reactions on the villagers around you just to check how they react, the first thing you did with terraforming was to strip your island down so you can rebuild it from scratch

Hunt: you cant wait to the new month or new season, right? what new critter and new fish is gonna be ? sharks, sturgeon fish? scorpions? all change is welcome because completing the museum is al that matters. And consider doing on of those monthly trophy areas on your island. Deciding what model ask fro to CJ or Flick, THAT is a good question. You may also be a very specific collector even better if it’s one of those rare diys or obscure event item, you are collecting them all 

Corruption: Shake every tree, go for tarantula island, HECK make your own tarantula island and become a bellionare!, You directly go to the butterfly room in the museum because it feel safe, also, let’s face it, asking blathers to tell you about the new critter and watch him EEEk every time is so much fun. have you ever tried to get wasps and run to your villagers? also you have the need to pluck all the weed out  you island the second you set foot on it

Desolation: No Villager is Safe. if they want to go, they go, if hey stay... you find ways to have fun with them, give them weird clothes, trap them in mazes . (cottage-core/ abandoned  aesthetics may also be your cup of tea) Your basic equipment for nook miles island are iron axes and consider leaving all you dont need laying there, you don’t need anything siting and  filling space in your inventory. You are here for that giveaway spirit and use the selling box at Nooks Cranny very often

End: you have a graveyard on your island and have tried to push wisp there because that’s where he should be, you are slowly collecting your top ten villagers and you are not planning to let any of them go , and you have fantasied about giving that heaven-paradise/purgatory vibe to your island. Thinking about changing every aspect of your island is a true pain and you really prefer to avoid it all together, so you planned it from the beginning and are now filling it with lots of details

Buried: you love or hate Blathers, no inbetween. you honestly enjoy terraforming and don’t get why people are so annoyed whit it,  the fun sound it makes and those narrow entrances in your island are charming! You have totally read the message saying you cant enclosure a tree too many times for your own sanity. you are working directly to get that 5 star island rating from Isabelle.

Slaughter: Considered or actually did of your island a giant board game, or several...it is fun to have friends over and even more if you have prepared an entire afternoon of fun with obstacle race or just spin that wheel and buried presents. You celebrate by hitting each other with a net! ...or just hit that darn annoying villager with a net anyway, see them go mad and then break their spirit, that is also a bit fun when they dont get the hint you want them out of the island, right?

Spiral: fences are your best friend, and probably have more than one account on the same island because all those possibilities for thematic rooms and houses are really tempting, and the limit of custom designs proven to run out very quickly. You have somehow managed to put those soft swirl lamps in your island. Aesthetically or for the sheer fun of it, you have a giant maze and enjoy that no one knows how to get to Redd when you invite them over, heck, not even you know how to best get to most parts. You have asked for the rescue service more than once.

Web: you are dedicated to flowers and it has consumed you every moment at some point, with giant flower fields but all that is worth it to collect every single one of them. Time travel is also second nature for you at this point and somehow managed to capture wasps and scorpions without much instruction ..or discovered the arch or hole tricks by yourself (and it scares me a lot tbh).  You gift your villagers all the good clothes because you know what you want them to wear.

Lonely: you house is in the top of the furthest mountain and no villager have virtual access to it, you don’t interact with them and you rather none of them call you highway or any other nickname. so basically 4 am is your ideal playtime. you r entire island has constant wip zones no one can enter until finished, and you sit and vibe in those small cosy zones you create, and you pier has a nice view of the lighthouse, 

Vast: you lament that you cant play with the camera tilted up to the sky because it is so beautiful, so whenever you are creating an area you look up to check the curvature of the map, you island never feels big enough for all the stuff you wanna put there , and often think the best use for the island is to have one of those endless flower fields. You are surprised to know that not everybody has a 4rth level mountain in their island, You have an specific order for the tool ring  swiftly interchange among them

Flesh: avid fossil collector and probably has one or two decorating your island, you have a big kitchen in your house and those stalls selling sushi and all kinds of food look amazing. you avoid wasps with all your might, probably collects a specific type of villager.and have a designated very urban area.

Some of these overlap, but so do the entities... Like colours but if colours where the complete ACNH experience.
