Logan's been so focused on working out that he hasn't noticed that his phone has been ringing the past minute and a half, not at least until there's a banging on his home gyms door.
Logan's head snaps towards the door at the sudden noise, taking long but cautious strides to see who's there, opening it only to reveal a less than pleased Y/N standing there.
"Hey," Logan says breathless as he wipes sweat from his forehead "You could've called first"
a scoff leaves Y/N's mouth "I just did, you've blowing me off this past week. I need you to talk to me"
Logan's first season in Formula 1 wasn't the best, he was a bit underweight, not following the diet his trainer gave him and he wasn't managing his energy well in the car which would burn him out and either made him DNF or finish last, which was really getting to him.
"I'm working out, Y/N, I'm busy." he pants, going right back into the exercise he briefly put on hold.
"You're gonna make their weight requirement in the next 10 minutes?" Y/N spat, a little harsher then she intended it to come out but she still stood her ground, making Logan stop and stare at her.
"Thanks you for being so supportive of my work" Logan said with sarcasm dripping from his voice.
"Because you've been such a champion of mine?" Y/N scoffed. It's true, Y/N just recently signed a contract with WWE's developmental program NXT and not even a single congratulation from her boyfriend.
Logan turned around, fire burning in his eyes "What's that supposed to mean?"
Y/N looks back with an icy stare "What do you think it means?"
Logan just stares at her dumbfounded which causes Y/N to pinch the bridge of her nose in frustration before she continues, "I'm sorry, I'm not allowed to talk about my needs? What needs?"
"Did I say that?" His eyebrows knit in confusion as he stares at her urging her to explain.
"You didn't have to say it, it's implied." She rubs her forehead in anger
Logan whips around in utter confusion "How is it implied?"
"You're the athlete and I'm the girlfriend. That's how you feel right?" That causes Logan's hands to cover his eyes and roughly rub his temples as he senses an argument brewing.
Logan absolutely hated arguing with his girlfriend, but ever since his first season started that's all they ever seemed to do. Logan left the TV on all night? Argument. Logan ate something he shouldn't have? Argument. Y/N left her shower towel on top of Logans beach towel? Argument. Y/N forgot to lock the ferret in the cage and now Logan's keys are missing and he's late to a very important William's meeting (he wasn't making it anyway, he took too long acting like Taylor Swift during the ERAS tour in the shower)? Argument.
"Can we talk about this later, please" Logan tries to change the subject so he can finish his workout
"When Logan? When is later?" Y/N raises her voice an octave higher than she intended.
"Not tonight," Logan said, tears of frustration forming on the brims of his eyes threatening to spill.
His response made Y/N's face contort with anger in a way he's never seen before that he made a mental note of never to make her that mad again because he was scared.
"I have been working out all day. I have up since 4 this morning. I have tried to make their weight requirement for a week, and I am nowhere!" Logan yells, those tears of frustration once threatening to spill have now poured out his eyes with more following in pursuit.
"I've been telling you how unhappy I am for months!" tears have now also started flowing out Y/N's eyes as they argue.
"Everyone's unhappy in Miami! That's what Miami is!" Logan screamed has he throws a 5 pound dumbbell on the floor by the bench
"I don't know how to get through to you anymore. You keep shutting me out! You keep putting up these fences!" Y/N's hands tremble in anger as she throws them up, running her fingers through her hair
"I'm not, I'm not shutting you out" Logan states as he wipes the tears from his face but to no avail as more tears spill from his green eyes
"You're a million miles away all the time" Y/N's voice trembles as she lets the tears free flow.
"Actually, I'm right here." Logan says with the straightest face you can have as a crying arguing mess of a man
"Are you Logan? Actually? Cause I know you" Y/N says as the tears slowly stop falling.
"You're right. I've been distracted, but I promise you, after I make this requirement-" before Logan could finish his statement, he gets cut off
"After the requirement?" Y/N whispers in disbelief
"After the requirement!" Logan confirms in a harsh tone
"Everything is after the requirement!" Y/N screams
"Yeah"
"What if you make the requirement and nothing happens? No William's contract extension? You don't go straight to point positions? You're still a bad driver, You still DNF, You don't get signed with anyone else? What then, Logan? What about me?!" The tears that briefly stopped streaming down her face started back up and flowed faster than this time.
"I can't move with you to Orlando. I can't leave my career behind" Logan ripped off the band-aid, he couldn't put off the real reason he's been avoiding this topic, why he's been avoiding Y/N.
"You think I don't know that?" she trembled.
"What," Logan stops, unsure of what she means and what he wants to say next, a million thought in his mind at what his girlfriend just said to him, but not one of those questions are coming out of his mouth right now "What are you...? What is this? What do you want?" he finally manages to choke out
"I guess I just, I wanted you to tell me not to go" Y/N finally lets out and that's when all the emotion she's been bottling up for months comes out, unable to stop the sobs she chokes out. She's a shaking sobbing mess on the floor and all Logan could do was just stare. He knew she'd been hurting at his cold shoulder treatment but he didn't think it hurt her this bad. He couldn't believe that he was watching her hurt this bad because of him and there was only one question floating in the back of his mind...
why don't I feel bad?

The Tortured Poets Department - Taylor Swift (Part 2)
9. Guilty as Sin? - you cheeky little minx, Taylor!!! I’m not sure she’s made me blush like this before! A song about…fantasizing outside of your relationship that sounds like the first day warm sun hits your skin after a long, cold winter. And I personally love a song with some good old fashioned yearning, so the bridge really takes it over the top for me. 5/5
Best Line: I really love a lot of lines here, but if “Drowning in the Blue Nile, he sent me ‘Downtown Lights’” is such a killer opener.
10. Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?- this song is an insane, showstopping moment. Edgy, raging, biting, and even still a little witty - “So tell me everything is not about me. But what if it is?” WAOLOM strikes such a good balance of being self-aware of her image and faults with genuine anger. Being the biggest pop star doesn’t make everything just roll off your back. Perfect production that builds and escalates exactly as it needs to. 5/5
Best Line: “I was tame, I was gentle 'til the circus life made me mean. ‘Don't you worry, folks, we took out all her teeth’”
11. I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can) - I really like the pseudo-western vibe going on and that lower register is always welcome in my books, but lyrically this doesn’t do a lot for me. It’s building to a punchline we all know is coming. She can’t fix him, shocking, and there’s not enough for me to root for the protagonist being delusional. Ending with just, “Whoa, maybe I can’t” is funny, but it’s not satisfying. If a common complaint is that this album is too long, this song doesn’t feel essential, story-wise. 2.5/5
Best Line: I said all of that, but I do really like the second verse, the best part being, “His hand so calloused from his pistol/Softly traces hearts on my face”.
12. loml- I had a really hard time picking a best line for this song. I almost made a list but decided that would be a little obnoxious. There’s references to her other work expertly weaved in to really great wordplay and metaphors and imagery. The development of the story in the three times you hear the chorus is stunningly good. It’s a pretty simple piano in the background with additional vocal layers right where they are needed for emphasis. There’s something a little bit missing from this song for me to give it a full 5, but I can’t quite put my finger on it and I also think loml really is a grower that’s not meant to be gobbled down in one bite. There’s a lot of lyrical details to be noticed and anything additional might take away from that. I vote this song most likely to be my favorite in 6 months that I don’t understand how it took so long to fully click. 4.5/5
Best Line: I had to do two, from the very beginning and end, that echo each other so it’s kind of like I only picked one then, right??? “Who's gonna stop us from waltzing back into rekindled flames if we know the steps anyway?” —-> “Our field of dreams, engulfed in fire. Your arson's match your somber eyes” Kill me (complimentary). The never before, never since turning into never before and ever since is also brilliant.
13. I Can Do It With a Broken Heart - This song is great. There’s a long history of Miss Swift making bops tinged with depression and anxiety and this may be her most unhinged version yet. A celebration of putting on a brave face when you’re going through some shit. Chanted like a mantra she tells herself, we get a peek behind the curtain of reaching glittering professional peaks not seen in this generation while her personal life was crashing. But no one can ever say Taylor Swift is not a professional - I love the delivery on the outro where she laughs off being miserable and ends with a little spoken zinger. Try and come for her job, indeed. 5/5
Best Line: “I’m so depressed, I act like it’s my birthday everyday. I’m so obsessed with him, but he avoids me like the plague,” tickles me so. This her comedy album. Inevitably going to go viral on Tik Tok at some point.
14. The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived - An absolutely killer bridge. It builds the drama up until the very end. Unfortunately, the verses could use a little stronger melody, the first half of the song is a little forgettable and feels a little clunky. 3/5
Best Line: “You kicked out the stage lights, but you’re still performing” is a close runner up but had to go with the opening of the bridge. “Were you sent by someone who wanted me dead?” is such a perfect escalation and so descriptive of a feeling without saying any feeling words.
15. The Alchemy- I really enjoy some parts of this song but I unfortunately have the desire to hire someone to dub over every single football reference so I can fully get into it. It’s too much, it’s too on the nose. I like the verses, I love the way she says, “I haven’t come around in so long,” and I think “who are we to fight the alchemy?” is a great line. There are just parts that feel like football Mad Libs in a way that makes this song pretty unlistenable to me. 1/5
Best Line: “This happens once every few lifetimes. These chemicals hit me like white wine”
16. Clara Bow - She’s known for writing about relationships and that has let the fact that songs about her relationship with fame are consistently top tier (despite being unrelatable to almost anyone since she is the most famous person on the planet) slip by mostly unnoticed. One of my favorite Taylor tricks is when she alters the lines a bit each go-round and/or flips the script in some way in the final chorus and this song is really an excellent combination of some of the best Taylor moves. I’m not going to pretend have known who Clara Bow was before this record, but it works and I don’t mind an album that makes me do a little Googling to understand some things. The Stevie Nicks reference is perfection. Saying her own name in a song really snaps you to attention. And I think this is a perfect album closer. She’s reckoning just as much with her own desire for notoriety and the consequences that go along with it as she is with former lovers, if you’re listening. 5/5
Best Line: “Crowd goes wild at her fingertip. Half moonshine, a full eclipse.” I’m not even sure I should include the first part. “Half moonshine, full eclipse” is one of my favorite things she’s ever written. (Side note as this is the most appropriate place to put it: the fucking personal poem from Stevie in the liner notes??? Stevie being a loud YOYO,K stan??? I weep at the coolness. Which is the opposite of cool and continuing to comment on it is even worse, sorry!)
Part 3 on the way!!!

Stockholm Syndrome
In the Four Hangout Harry said the song was about developing feelings for a kidnapper and applying the idea to enjoying the feeling of being trapped by love. When Liam talked about being trapped in a hotel room Harry cut him off with "This is more like about a nympho."
youtube
After What makes you Beautiful, Stockholm Syndrome is the 1D song he still plays most. It was on the Live on Tour setlist 2017-2018, but then not played again for 5 years. It reappeared on 13 May 2023, (While Taylor's surprise song was This Love). Harry then played it 18 more times to the end of Love on Tour. He also changed the emphasis on "Now he's changed his mind!"
youtube
Production
Harry said "Stockholm was a lot of fun to write." He seems to enjoy playing it too. Harry wrote it with the 1D writers, Julian and John, as well as Johan Carlsson. At the same time Johan & Harry wrote:
"A Little Bit of Your Heart" for Ariana Grande. Ariana first mentioned it in July 2014, and
"I love you" for Alex and Sierra at the same time, which was May 2014 based on them sharing a photo of Taylors cat.
It was on Four, released 17 November 2014, 3 weeks after 1989:
9 February 2014 Taylor wrote Clean in London
11 February 2014 she cut her hair off backstage after Red at the O2, Harry was spotted watching.
14 February 2014 - Taylor posted "there's nothing like real love" quote for valentines day. She released the Style Music Video 12 months later, which may have inspired Two Ghosts.
19 February 2014 Taylor wrote Style
March - May 2014 Harry likely wrote Stockholm Syndrome. It was Recorded by May.
Live Performances
Stockholm replaced Happily as song 7 on the OTRA setlist on 25 February 2015, the day after Taylor was seen with Calvin at the Brits. It was on the setlist for the rest of the tour. (it was in the Encore for the first few shows)
It was on Harry's Live on Tour main setlist in 2017 and 2018. On May 13 2023 it was added to the last 18 Love on Tour shows with Grapejuice.
Lyrics
[Verse 1] Who's that shadow holding me hostage? I've been here for days Who's this whisper telling me that I'm never gonna get away? I know they'll be coming to find me soon But I fear I'm getting used to Being held by you
The Shadow/Ghost/Phantom reference continued in Haylor songs, to me they are referencing this song/HYGTG:
How You Get The Girl “Stand there like a ghost shaking from the rain” (HYGTG was written January 2013)
Ready for it...? "Wonder how many girls he had loved and left haunted / But if he's a ghost, then I can be a phantom / Holdin' him for ransom"
So it goes "Gold cage, hostage to my feelings"
Two Ghosts
AntiHero "When my depression works the graveyard shift / All of the people I've ghosted stand there in the room", the film clip has 2 with heart glasses from 22 and Music from a Sushi Restaurant.
Tumblr media
[Chorus] x2 Oh, baby, look what you've done to me Oh, baby, look what you've done now Oh, baby, I'll never leave if you keep holding me this way (Oh-oh-oh)
The theme of being unable to escape this recurrent love, and it being a golden cage, is recurrent. In Ready for it..? Taylor sings she will "Keep him forever like a Vendetta"
[Verse 2] Who's this man that's holding your hand and talking 'bout your eyes? (Oh-oh-oh) Used to sing about being free but now he's changed his mind (Oh-oh-oh) I know they'll be coming to find me soon But my Stockholm syndrome is in your room Yeah, I fell for you
When Harry first started singing the whole song, as in the top link he sang the line 'used to sing about being free' along the tune. In July 2018 and again when the song re-appeared in May 2023 he has emphasised "changed his mind" more and more.
[Bridge] All my life, I've been on my own (Oh-oh-oh) I used the light to guide me home (Oh-oh-oh) But now together we're alone (Oh-oh-oh) And there's no other place I'd ever wanna go [Breakdown] (Look what you've done to me) Baby, look what you've done
The guiding light to home is also a theme in Harry and Taylors songs where they refer to each other as home:
Sweet Creature "When I run out of road, you bring me home"
The Lover Video included a home where every room was Haylor
Woman Exile has a list of Haylor Home lyrics

NOOO i was being sarcastic lol sorry, i meant like the songs that are considered to be taylors great songs, by like the world
HAHAHA ok yeah well in that case i would honestly stand by my original top 10 list!! but here are 5 honorable mentions that didn't make that original cut
you're on your own kid -- if midnights gave us one good thing it was this song. holy shit. i can't believe she didn't release this as a single and do like, a career retrospective style music video for it -- i feel like that could've been so beautiful. that instrumental that comes before the final chorus/bridge just FEELS like a montage waiting to happen (side note but thats what i always wish she'd leaned more into with midnights -- she could've done so much cool stuff with the "career retrospective" aspects of that album, which would've dovetailed so nicely with the eras tour/rerecording eras -- and instead it was like, 70s night aesthetic? idk i just wish she'd really leaned into the whole "exploring my past through my present lens" part of midnights bc like, yeah that was cool!! idk why you didn't talk about that more actually!)
seven -- what an insane song. like the whole first verse is just perfection to me lyrically and her like wistful vocals in the high register over that gorgeous piano line... perfection. no notes. perfect song
holy ground -- sorry but the re recording of this song sucks, but the original is so good. those driving drums, the backing vocals in the final chorus, the ... desperation in her voice -- i love it!! and it has some amazing lyrics -- i love "while having coffee all alone" (wonderful image that ties so sweetly into begin again "on a wednesday in a cafe" -- like on red, we go from the lovers being together but hidden from the world in state of grace "we are alone just you and me, up in your room and our slates are clean" and alone in the kitchen in all too well "dancing in the kitchen in the refrigerator light" and then she kind of emerges out into the world in holy ground in that coffee all alone line, and then by the end she meets someone new but they're in a cafe together -- idk i just kinda love that progression) and also the line "back when you fit my poems like a perfect rhyme" being a perfect rhyme with "time" -- it's so clever and cool. love that one too (holy ground and state of grace are like sisters to me tbh, being the best songs on red and they kind of speak to each other -- i mentioned the alone/together part but there's also "i'm walking fast through the traffic lights" vs. "took off faster than a green light go" which is also a connection i love.)
invisible string -- i can't quite believe i didn't include it in my original list. it might be my favorite song she's ever written. also the guitar they use on the recording is so cool, i loved getting to see it in the long pond sessions. "time, mystical time, cutting me open and healing me fine" is just <33333 so beautiful
this love -- i feel like this love doesn't get enough credit for how much work it’s doing on 1989 because it's more understated but i just think it's SO BEAUTIFUL. i've said before it ties together so much of the 1989 imagery and has so many callbacks to other songs but still stands alone so beautifully -- like all the water imagery tying into clean but the "lantern burning" connecting to all the fire/flames on 1989.... so perfect. the comparison of a lover coming and going to the tide... obsessed?? and "been losing grip on sinking ships" / "loose lips sink ships all the damn time" and "struggled through the night with someone new" / "you been out and about with some other girl [...] i been there too a few times" and "this love is alive back from the dead" / "stand there like a ghost shaking from the rain" and "in silent screams and wildest dreams" / "say you'll see me again even if it's just in your wildest dreams" ugh I COULD GO ON (and on on and on AND I WILL) -- i love that songggggggg

Hey! I wanna get to know my Swiftie mutuals. Tell me your top 5 songs and albums from her. Feel free to go into depth/explain if you'd like!
hey!!! meowdy! ( yup, i read your bio and agree) nice to meet you! i'm sorry for all my lore but it is hard to talk about things i love without bringing personal matters with it. i feel like i can talk about taylor lyrics without trauma dumping so i am truly sorry for the things i wrote. but since you said you want to know your mutuals here i go!
TOP ALBUMS
1 - folklore: it is such an ethereal experience for me. i love how all the stories in it are connected in some way and the way she could create so many details for all the characters tbh i feel like i could have been any one of them and in some ways i am. i love how every song feels like summer rain, is comforting and vulnerable. i was the first album of her that i felt i could relate to 100%. is my all time favorite.
(now the positions after folklore vary depending of the day for me so i may change them later)
2 - the tortured poets department: i know is new and everyone is freaking out about it but for me that's one of the most honest pieces of music i have ever listen to it. i keep caught on all these debates about to whom she wrote it but is so stupid because these songs were never about anyone BUT taylor. she could have dated anyone and still wrote these masterpieces, it isn't about a man, it is about taylor swift. and she put SO MUCH of her heart in it that i can feel it. all that anger, all that pain, all that fear it all came from her. she is the artist. i know some critics say is easy to write 31 songs if they all look similar (haters gonna hate is so fucking true) but for me as an inspiring artist is a relief to know you can create different things about the same topic and don't feel ashamed about it. you can write about the same theme a thousand times and guess what? it can be a thousand times different because it will be a thousand different parts of yourself. everything about ttpd is so beautiful ( plus dead poets society references makes it perfect bc is my favorite movie)
3 - evermore: follows the folklore aesthetic and vibes. marjorie? champagne problems??? tolerate it???? Does she have a hidden camera in my backpack or something?
4 - speak now: i'm nineteen wtf she wrote something like THAT when she was nineteen?????? this album is so magical, It has some of the fantasy she later put on folklore and evermore but with more joy and cheerful melodies. listening to speak now is like opening my favorite book over and over. i wish i could be emma falling in love and i wish to live a timeless love and i wish i could sing long live with my friends/found family after winning a battle. i just love it all so much and never grown up? i listened to it when i was packing my things to move out of my hometown so you can imagine how much i relate to it. castles crumbling is also so close to my heart because i constantly feel i'm burning bridges and fucking things up. so yep all these fears of loneliness and failure goes present in this album goes deep .
5 - midnights: as a HUGE fan of the moon ( the moon is my true soulmate and i don't care if it "just a sattelite"or a "bunch of rocks and dust glued together" because guess what? i'm also a bunch of universal dust glued together) the whole celestial aesthetic of the album hits me like a train. all these confessions, these letters, these maniacal thoughts i have after the sun sets are not only mine. i love how she hugged me through these lyrics and showed me that everyone is haunted by ghosts after midnight. but the night time isn't just a place for nightmares, there is also hope, and joy and good dreams.
TOP SONGS
1 - mirrorball : since the first time i listened to it all i could think about is "someone finally sees me"
2 - the archer: she saw right through me. i am so scared of being seen because if someone sees me, if someone truly knows me it would hurt 1000 times more being rejected by them.
3 - you're on your own, kid: i lost all my friends after high school, literally no one of the fucking people i used to talk to every day and go to their houses and remember their birthdays. all of the people i used to open up to, the people i used to cry and laugh with just didn't reach out anymore and i know it is half my fault but it made me realize how truly alone i am as a human. It doesn't matter how much you connect with someone you are always on your own at the end of the day and she literally summarized that feeling in a fucking song.
4 - i can do it with a broken heart: because you still can be a mirrorball even when the ones you built the show for have left.
5 - the lakes: dead poets society vibes and i'm also a poet and i also want to run away.
6 - renegade: (you asked for 5 but here is a bonus track for you haha <3) i sing that song is a platonic way because it translates so much of my relationships with my friends and family. i sing along thinking about them and i know they could sing thinking about me because of trauma and miscommunication is such a top topic in all that.

literally no one asked, but i'm listening to midnights in full (again) to see if my opinion's changed so! a little track by track review!
lavender haze - i got it the first time. nothing bad to say about this track tbh! really like the melodies, it's catchy and feels fresh and new. well, it kinda reminds me of false god in a sense? maybe it's just the sultry nature of the track. 8/10
maroon - this fuck ass song. the metaphors are giving "high schooler trying to write poetry" at times, the chorus is just. . . no, thank you! earlier on twitter i said that it feels like too much and not enough at the same time? her vocals are clearly the focus, but i don't particularly enjoy the melodies on this one, so. . . don't like the production either actually! it's kinda like afterglow but worse in every way to me. the outro's nice though, i love her voice! still i skip it every time it comes on shuffle and roll my eyes every time i see maroon praise on the tl. 4/10
anti-hero - actually a lot better than i remember! that sexy baby line still catches me off guard every time tho. the bridge is very funny TO ME! i kinda see the vision now i think. maybe! idk. the verses are kinda there, don't really do anything for me (which is actually a problem with most track on this record, now that i think about it). nonetheless it's like a 7/10
snow on the beach - genuinely a great track, even though i never get the urge to listen to it. love how dream-like and hazy and Cold it sounds! like a particularly frosty night in the middle of december. it's a very purple track as well, if you know what i mean. i like it! some of the lyrics are questionable ("life is emotionally abusive" is just not it for me SORRY).
ALSO the "weird but fucking beautiful" part is incredibly annoying to me . . .something about it is so lana that i just can't stomach it, it makes me physically cringe. when i do listen to the song, it's always the clean version lol. also i just couldn't give less of a shit about lana and i'm glad she didn't get a verse! 8.5/10 tho, a beautiful track.
you're on your own, kid - i get what she was going for, and if it weren't for jack i would've loved this one a lot more bc lyrically and vocally it's very very nice! unfortunately they both hate me. oh well! 8/10
midnight rain - love the concept, but the execution could've been wayyyy better tbh. lyrically it's a bit corny at times and production-wise it's nothing to write home about, but it's not outrageously horrible, so i guess a 6/10?
question...? - i have the bad taylor swift songs enjoyer gene so TO ME this isn't half as bad as everyone makes it out to be. the bridge is meh, but the melodies are very fun! lyrically, it's kinda all over the place, but i still get it . 7/10
vigilante shit - look. didn't i just say i have the bad ts songs enjoyer gene? it could've been in my top 5 if the production was even a tiny bit interesting. lyrically? it's atrocious. unbelievably corny, this weird mixture of edgy and awkward only taylor can achieve. in other words, PERFECT !!! it kind of reminds me of lwymmd, if lwymmd was like 3 times less cunty and camp, and like 10 times less interesting production-wise. vocally, she delivers though! very sexy, playful and fun!!! we could've had it all!! jack had other plans, i guess. 6/10
bejeweled - really fun. one of my favs since day one, actually! loooove the production on this one! the synth (? i don't know shit about instruments btw) makes me think of those 3-in-a-row games and it's just Perfect! love those "nice!" moments, love the chorus, love the bridge. in the famous words of Taylor Nation, let's reclaim the land, uk swifties! 8/10
labyrinth - too boring, sorry. i've seen someone say that if this song were on folklore, swifties would "give it the attention it deserves", and i couldn't disagree more. it's just not It lyrically, sorry. 5/10. SORRY. genuinely don't understand why she put this on the record instead of something like would've, could've, should've, or the great war or even glitch (which would make the bejeweled -> karma transition seamless. do you guys think we'll ever get a solid ts album tracklist that makes sense? i doubt it.)
karma - again, i got it the first time. verses are boring and if i could, i'd only listen to the chorus+the bridge, but it's still soooooo FUNNNN!!! like. karma is a cat purring in my lap cause it loves me. that chorus melody is Insane and her vocal delivery is top notch. she's a pop mastermind. 8/10 only because the verses suck otherwise this would've been a 10 and i mean it. i like pop music a lot btw.
sweet nothing - really sweet. doesn't make me feel like i'm slipping into a coma, unlike labyrinth. beautiful piano, beautiful melodies! like a 7/10 maybe. should've been a tad shorter i think.
mastermind - i wish it didn't suck this bad production-wise. i think the concept's really fun - a song about being a mastermind from a woman known to leave easter eggs everywhere she goes. the idea of working hard behind the scenes trying to construct a perfect love story for you and your lover... i get it. unfortunately, it's also . . . boring. 5/10.
not gonna do the 3am tracks and hits different because they're all great and i don't feel like writing out "this has great lyrics!" 7 times in a row. i do have to say that dear reader is the worst thing ever because JACK ANTONOFF. like it just makes me want to throw up how much i like the lyrics and how shitty the song sounds. goddamit.
it's a 6.7, according to my calculator!

I'm Huh Jihye, a member of FUTURE/FEMME, singer-songwriter, producer, and a fan of pineapple on pizza. Ask me anything!
Hi, Reddit!
I'm Huh Jihye, a member of K-pop group FUTURE/FEMME under Culture Creative. We just made our comeback with 'Kitsch', and I'll be here to answer a few of your questions about what it's like to be a member of FUTURE/FEMME and about K-pop!
How do you keep your head high? Idols often have to deal with lots of criticism, and I can't imagine it's easy dealing with that day in and day out.
good question! i'm extremely lucky to have wonderful people around me, such as my group members, that act as my support system. i don't get hurt easily, so i like to see if it's constructive, then i'll take the criticism and work on myself. if not, then i don't care! if i'm secure in myself and believe i'm the best version of me, then it doesn't matter what others think of me. it only matters what i think of me! you're you, and i'm me!
jihye girl i love u!!! i'm such a big fan of f/f!!! can you share more about 'kitsch' and how you came up with the song? love u miss producer huh x
thank you! i feel like when i was creating it, i wanted it to be really representative of what future/femme's whole message & what we stand for, so a very carefree, youthful, 'i don't care' vibe! there are lots of references to social media platforms and what it's probably like to just be existing in the now as a gen-z. i wanted everyone who listened to be able to feel like they're a cheerful, confident main character in a high-teen movie with no worries! if you're walking down the street and listening to kitsch, you really have to become the main character!
What does a typical day for FUTURE/FEMME look like?
there really is no one typical day! even if we're preparing for a comeback, we all have different schedules and things to work on outside of it, and come together for practice after. for me, it's working in the studio 24/7!
what's your birth time queen
i'll never reveal this.
what's your favourite song you've ever written?
this is so hard to answer... but i have a special soft spot for love u twice! it's sooo personal to me, and so many of you guys have said you relate to it which makes it extra special!💖 i find it so wonderful when you make my songs yours :) it's why i also love good parts, because i want to encourage self-love!
what's your favourite taylor swift era?
off the top of my head, midnights!
what's a song you like to listen to to get your energy up?
antifragile!
top 3 must-haves in your bag? and a tmi!
probably... my phone! that's really a must-have! my headphones, and chocolate! for my tmi, i stayed up til 5am yesterday/today!
[sliding $20 note] any new music in the works...
;) forever n always
your favourite lyric you've ever written, and why?
omggg so many. probably: the bridge of impurities, 'power stronger in adversity, i'm not afraid of the overwhelming shadow, i'll have it all what i desire' good parts' 'i don't wanna blame my weakness, i'll love myself the way i am'! polaroid's entire verse 2. that's it that's the tweet
what's something you'd like to say to you 5 years ago, and you 5 years in the future?
keep going because you'll be glad you did! i hope the 26-year-old jihye will be happy, too.
thanks for all your questions & support, reddit! this has been so much fun, but unfortunately, this is all the time i have. please give lots of support to future/femme's latest comeback, 'kitsch'! 💖

rank red and lover and evermore
ok i should’ve expected this many☠️☠️☠️☠️
red (taylor’s version) this one is so difficult to rank bc its so LONG and tbh ive already changed my mind on the bottom rankings so ignore the numbers oh and im not ranking ronan bc. yeah.
i almost do - i literally could not tell you why but this has been my favourite song from red for a long long time,, probably because i’ve never gotten over anything ever
better man - WHY WASNT THIS ON THE ORIGINAL ALBUM😭😭😭😭😭😭
the moment i knew - AND IT WAS LIKE SLOOOWWW MOTION STANDING THERE IN MY PARTY DRESSS IN REEEEED LIPSTICK QITH NO ONE TO IMPRESS ok this song was always in my top 3 for red but atw10 really elevated it bc of all the references
the very first night - why are the vaults so GOOOD OMG this song is so fun and has such silly energy i love it
forever winter - this song is so devastating but also if i ignore the lyrics the horns make it a bop????
all too well 10 min version - what can i say it’s ALL TOO WELL. AND I WAS NEVER GOOD AT TELLING JOKES BUT THE PUNCHLINE GOES I’LL GET OLDER BUT YOURE LOVERS DTAY MY AGE
nothing new - phoebe bridgers makes me feel things. also i should now find this song and the fear of getting older relatable bc i’m literally ‘the kinda radiance you only have at seventeen’
babe - the sugarland version is good but taylor’s is so much better and i love the added ‘what about your promises promises’ thing
red - WHEN THE DRUMS COME IN OMGGGG ,, oh also random anec dote one time when i was 9 or 10 my teacher asked me for an example of a metaphor so i used one of these lyrics
i bet you think about me - I LOVE COUNTRY TAYLOR AND I LOVE SASSY TAYLOR (aka fearless taylor)
treacherous - that part where shes like 'i'll follow you follow you home' is so funny bc like girl are u a stalker or something😭
state of grace - for some reason i specifically LOVEE sreaming the lyrics 'twin fire signs, four blue eyes' even though i am a pisces with BROWN EYES???? (also this is one of the many rerecordings that sounded better in the og version,,, i only play tv though)
all too well (normal length version) - this one was top 3 before red tv was released but for some reason the new vocals dont hit the same😔i would still consider it to be a perfect song though,, atw is THAT GIRL 13/10
the last time - if u dont try to sing both parts of this and mess up then ur lyyyinnggggg
everything has changed - not 2 be a sheerio (i am NOT ONE) but the ed sheeran x taylor collabs on this album are so cuteeetetete and im obsessed with how the kid actors from this mv were used for joker and the queen mv like a decade later
22 - in 5 years this song will be on REPEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!AH OHHHHH I DONT KNOW ABOUT YOU BUT IM FEELIN TWENNY TWOOOOO
run - this is giving i know places and i loveeeee it 10/10 i love it when she collabs with ed within his musical range (this is a diss to endgame)
come back ... be here - THE BRIDGE. i love pretending that my (non existent) lover has flown allll the way to london soo far away from me (london is an hour drive from my house) and i am BREAKING DOWN BECAUSE MY MAN ISNT HERE (im literally a lesbian)
sad beautiful tragic - ok i dont ever actively search for this song but when it comes on i will listen to the whole thing every time. i think i said this about hoax but this is the type of sadness i craaave
holy ground - the forever & always > better than revenge > last kiss > holy ground > invisible string (that one line about the babies and presents) pipeline is one of my favourite things in the swiftverse ever everrrrr love u joe jonas
i knew you were trouble - remember that goat meme? yeah🥹
the lucky one - whoever said this song is evelyn hugo is so CORRECT.
we are never everrrrrr getting back together - I LOVE THIS SONG BUT SHE BOTCHED IT IN THE 2021 VERSION LMAOOOO RIP (ALSO SHOUT OUT TO THE ROCK VERSION OF THIS <333333)
begin again - this was such a perfect closing song for the standard edition of the album,, it ties off the whole break up album so well and it has her moving on to someone who treats her wife and ahhhhh
starlight - the 'have 10 kids and teach them how to dream' line rly catches me off guard sometimes😭 but i'll allow it
stay stay stay - THE PEOPLE WHO HATE ON THIS SONG DONT GET ITTTT. THE 5 MINUTE CRAFTS MUSIC IS CAMP. YOU CAN PRIZE STAY STAY STAY OUT OF MY COLD DEAD HANDS.
message in a bottle - this song is so 2012 where was this in the og album😒😒😒😒 it could have been one of the greats with ikywt,wanegbt,22 but whatever (same with the very first night S.M.H)
girl at home - i didnt like the og version, and i know a lot of people dont like the different production it has on the rerecording but i actually prefer it,,, but its my least favourite song on the album still. rip.
i started that ranking at 6:22am and now its 6:25pm. ITS BEEN 12 HOURS HELP WHY IS RED SO LONG anyway,,,,,
LOVEERRRRRRRR (aka one of my 3 stan albums) also not ranking soon youll get better for the same reasons as ronan ^
daylight - can i just say,, I KNOW THIS SONG TECHNICALLY DOESNT COUNT BEFORE BC TOE IS NO LONGER A THING BUT IGNORE THAT PLEASE FOR THIS ONE😭 ok this one has some of my favourite lyrics,, including 'i once believed love would be burning red, but its golden' ARE YOU KIDDDINGGGGG SHE INFLUENCED THE SONG AND ALBUM RED. AS IN SHE THOUGHT LOVE WOULD BE BURRRNIN REDDDD LIKE THE LYRIC. U KNOW THE ONE IM TALKING ABOUT RIGHT (2 mins into red the song). OHH ALSO THE VOICE MEMO AT THE END IS SO ICONIC I WANNA GET 'YOU ARE WHAT YOU LOVE' TATTOOOOOOD ON MYSELF
the archer - one thing i will eat up every time is when a song is produces in a way that makes u feel anxious (either when theres build up with no beat drop/release OR when the drums are super threatening if that makes sense) eg, labyrinth and out of the woods. the archer is such a perfect song and i love the heartbeats that she puts in the bridge (reminds me of wildest dreams and youre losing me ahhhhhh) and whenever i see eras videos of this song people say they wish it wasnt on the set list and honestly i find that baffling. if i ever see that song live i will literally pass away AND if i go to eras i wanna dress up as the archer (cupid vibes)
miss americana & the heartbreak prince - can i just say IVE BEEN A STAN OF THIS SONG SINCE 2019 and it was my favourite from lover for years omg,, and when i saw she opened the eras tour with this one i was so happy bc its finally getting the recognition it deserves !!!!!
afterglow - this song is so criminally underrated and its one of the realest songs on the album,, like is shows that love isnt always perfect and thats such an important thing to know specially for delusional girls like me ohh also theres a few songs on lover that have very specific producion styles, its afterglow, daylight, cornelia street and all of the girls AND ITS MY FAVOURITE PRODUCTION STYLE IN HER DISCOGRAPHY its so light and airy and i cant describe it properly but i love it so much
lover - omg this was my top song on spotify wrapped 2021,, its like the textbook perfect love song and i love the vows in the bridge and i love(r) the 'we can leave the christmas lights till january' and i love the mundane romantic things like saving seats and letting your friends crash in the living room and ahahsuhfjsadlgajhdfhkasgdfhgas
cornelia street - ok unlike daylight, i literally cannon ignore how defesting this song is with the uhhh...,., recent events in the toe timeline, but honestly the existence of 'youre losing me' elevates this song even more with all of the parallels and irony and before this was a cutesie song about omg what if me and my lover break up but now its just a knife twisting in my heart and yeah. rip toe
its nice to have a friend - this was also one of my big stan songs in 2019,, the simplicity just drew me in and its such a sweet song and it reminds me of walking around after school in february where its still getting dark kinda early and u can see the sky turning pink and orange and yeah <3333333333333333 i know this song has its haters but they are all just cold hearted haters, what can i say
cruel summer - IMDRUNKINTHEBACKOFTHECARANDICRIEDLIKEABABYCOMINGHOMEFROMTHEBARSAIDIMFINEBUTITWASNTTRUEIDONTWANNAKEEPSECRETSJUSTTOKEEPYOUANDISNUCKINTHROUGHTHEGARDENGATESEVERYNIGHTTHATSUMMERJUSTTOSEALMYFATEOHHHANDISCREAMEDFORWHATEVERITSWORTHILOVEYOUAINTTHATTHEWORSTTHINGYOUEVERHEARTHELOOKSUPGRINNINGLIKETHEDEVIL
all of the girls you loved before - LISTEN TO THIS SONG AND COMPARE IT WITH PERMANENT MARKER, THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HOW SHE THINKS OF EXES THEN AND NOW IS SO FUNNY
i think he knows - this song makes me feel so silly and michevious idk why likeeeeee im listening to it right now and i feel like i wanna go annoy everyone in my houseee
ME ! - ok i know what u guys are gonna say BUT I DONT CARE. I AM A ME STAN. IF U DONT LIKE THIS SONG UR BORING AND HAVE NO FRIENDS SORRYYYYYYYY like yeah its cringe, yeah the lyrics are corny, but you know what??????? BABY THATS THE FUN OF ME (!) HE HE HEEEE the only valid critisism of this song is the inclusion of brendon urie and tbh that is valid i agree she should have made me (!) the feature
death by a thousand cuts - the way she put in the my my my my from the song lover is so rude and criminal bc why would she do that to me :( and i know this song is sad but imma be dancing around to that bridge idc idc
paper rings - omg this one is so nostalgic,,, i remember my ex gf used to make paper rings because of this song and she taught me and a bunch of our friends at school how to make them it was so fun,,, this was the song i associated with us once upon a time and now we're not a couple anymore but yk what???? i dont find this song sad its all good memories and me and her are still besties so whateverrrr *PAPER RINGS SUPREMACY*
london boy - THIS SONG >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> EVERYTHING BECAUSE LIKE SO MANY SONGS ON THIS ALBUM ITS SO UNSERIOUS AND A GOOD TIME,, IF YOU GET IT YOU GET IT!!!!!!! ALSO IT HITS DIFFERENT WHEN UR ENGLISH (taylor says she loves us <33333333) also shout out to these very iconic parts : 'we can go drivin in, on my scootuh' and 'pubwe' 'darling i fancy you' and its so funny how she literally just lists a bunch of places in london and its seems london until you put all of the locations in google maps and it makes the shape of a heart <3333333333
false god - that saxaphone😫😫😫😫 i rly hope taylor does more jazz in the future bc this song is so amazing
you need to calm down - shade never made anybody less gay FR,, like i said before, im a lesbian and this song makes me wanna tell everryyybody and its such a sillly fun song love love love,, i wish it was longer though
need - YEAHH IM DOING UNRELEASED TOO IDC,, i have this downloaded (very legally) on my spotify bc i (need)ed it very much and ill do it again. this shouldve been on the actual album #justiceforneed2023
the man - okayyyyyyy i diss this song often but i love it really,,, its so #millenialgirlboss
i forgot that you existed - ok i get the message and the whole idea of moving on from reputation idea but did it really have to be the album opener 😭 if somebody plays this album without having heard anything else from taylor and they hear 'in my feelings more than drake so yeah' THEY WILL LITERALLY NEVER LISTEN TO HER AGAINNNN ill allow it because its funny and im a satire girlie but taylor why couldnt you open the album with cruel summer☠️ screaming
evermoree
gold rush - ok guys you know how i feel about winlet and this song YOU KNOWWW THIS. gold rush is my all time most played song on spotify, and its so perfect and magical and if u listen to the dolby atmos stems theres some really nice drums and the 'my mind turns your life into folkloorreeeee' like is SO meta i love her for that
cowboy like me - con artists falling in love????? COUNT ME IN. ohh and i feel like im gonna do this a lot on this album but i have some lyrics that i neeeed to give a shout out to : 'and the skeletons in both our closets plotted hard to f*ck this up' , 'now you hang from my lips like the gardens of babylon, with your boots beneath my bed, forever is the sweetest con' imagine being able to write like that likee damn girl
'tis the damn season - im so obsessed with how this song is the other perspective from the song dorethea,, this is honestly the song i listen to the most every december bc its just the perfect holiday song for me
ivy - I CANT EVEN SHOUT OUT LYRICS HERE BECAUSE THE WHOLE SONG IS LITERALLY GOD TIER LYRICISM. WHO LET HER DO THIS. HOW DOES ONE JUST WRITE ALL OF THIS???????????????? TS > SHAKESPEARE
marjorie - this song is such a beautiful one and its my mums favourite and she always tells me to play it when i have the aux 🥹 when taylor plays this at the eras tour and that part with marjories opera singing plays and u can see taylor crying i just wanna bawl my eyes out
evermore - every few months i rediscover this song and its so perfect and the part in the bridge where the intensity is building and bilding and in the line 'you were there' her voice softens and the whole feeling of anxiety just subsides andaahhhhhhhassdbfkssf , same energy as ootw where the bridge is super fast and anxious and the end shes like 'you were lookin at me' and her voice softens there too, its such a cool thing to do vocally and it rly tells u the perspective the song is from with her spiraling and her lover kinda pulling her back into the present (its giving jacinter energyy)
willow - for literally no reason whenever i hear this song i think of a mermaid and a pirate falling in love,, and theyre both lesbians (i dont make the rules thats just how it is ok) 'wait for the signal and i'll meet you after dark' the only logical conclusion to be drawn from this is that the mermaid and pirate are sneaking around bc mermaids and pirates hate eachother,, like romeo and juliet,,,, like ariel and eric. do u see the vision. do u see the forbidden love. yeah u get it (i know it says thats my man in the song but im choosing to ignore that) (ALSO IM NOT A GAYLOR THIS IS JUST HOW I LIKE TO THINK OF THE SONG LOL)
champagne problems - the fact that she wrote this with joe is insane like how do u sit with ur bf and write a breakup song like this as a fictional thing,, and then break up for the reason in said song 3 years later?????? wild😭
right where you left me - DELUSION ANTHEM 🗣🔊💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
tolerate it - man this song is depressing,, like u know how the song ends with 'i sit and watch you' thats because its repeating the fist line of the song. as in shes in a loop. as in she has all these thoughts and realisations and then realises she has to leave and then ends up right where she started and stays. deep.
no body, no crime - OHH IMAGINE SITTING ROUND A CAMPFIRE SINGING THIS ONE ITS SUCH A FUN MURDER STORY LOVEEE IT
coney island - the bridge with all the references 😫 'were you standing in the hallway, with a big cake, happy birthday / and they're all standing around me singing "happy birthday to you but there was one thing missing' , 'did I paint your bluest skies the darkest grey? / you paint me a blue sky then go back and turn it to rain' , 'and when I got into the accident the sight that flashed before me was your face / remember when you hit the brakes too soon? .... but when the sun came up, I was looking at you' , 'but when I walked up to the podium, i think that I forgot to say your name' / this ones about calvin harris but there isnt a song about it,, but she does talk about this in the miss americana documentary
long story short - this song is literally the whole of reputation summarised its so good
dorothea - this ones the betty of the album,, the simple acoustic part of a song parinng / group, like ive said i love it when she returns to her roots and releases things reminiscent of debut
its time to go - I HATE YOUUUU SCOOTER
happiness - this one is very sad but a little uplifting i guess, i find it so sweet how taylor writes songs for abigail (fifteen and this) to help her get through things
closure - ok i know this is at the bottom of my ranking but i actually really like this song a lot,,, the production is what people hate but i love how its all chaos, representing the whole drama with the breakdown in taylor and scooter / karlies friendships and then the piano comes in smoothly THROUGH the chaos, which reminds me of taylor just ignoring all that drama and being able to move on while theyre still just bothering her in the background
BEA. THIS TOOK AGES I HATE YOU HAHAHAHH

okay here we go. after several listens of 5sos5 i have finally processed it more or less like a normal person. here are my track-by-track thoughts. i tried to be coherent but no promises.
COMPLETE MESS: complete mess continues to fuck. michael’s bridge continues to fuck. i actually forgive them for the boring move of repeating verse 1 as the bridge simply because hearing michael sing it is a life-changing experience. i loooove how the instrumentation of the chorus changes every time. and holy hell, that moment right after the bridge of everyone just going OHHHH YOU MAKE ME COMPLETE is poetic on so many levels and just EAR CANDY to listen to.
Easy For You To Say: i am really really loving this song. it’s the first non-single song we hear from the album and god luke’s voice just sounds so incredible. i love the staircase of the prechorus and the rhythm of those lyrics and then the way the chorus just goes up and floats. so good. “between all the gasping i finally breathe” knocked me out when i heard it the first time. i do think the verses are missing an even higher harmony line but that’s just me. and oh my god the acoustic guitar in the last prechorus i love it so so so much i love it.
Bad Omens: delicious i would drink this song. everything happening here is so tasty. the melody is so good it builds in such a perfect way the BRIDGE man 5sos have really dropped the ball on good bridges but this song has a GOOD one. and the “heaven knows i should let go it’s nothing that i don’t already know” is the PERFECT post-chorus moment. nothing bad to say about this song
Me Myself & I: look, i might get tired of this song once i fully face the reality that it’s just the same lyrics repeated over and over, but right now i am in me myself & i world. this song FUCKS. i actually love the “myself and i la la lie la la lie la lie lie” bit it’s so fun to sing. luke’s voice sounds great in this and every melody line is so tasty theyre just so satisfying i got no problems here. the sweet sweet belt of “bullshit i feed myself/i did not need your help”. the way it goes up in the last chorus with “and that’s what makes me wanna die” is PERFECT it’s that melody change i’m waiting for and they DELIVER.
Take My Hand: i actually love this song but i don’t like the extra minute at the end in the joshua tree version. so let’s ignore that version for now. i love take my hand it’s so beautiful the lyrics are some of their absolute best on this album and the bridge is so good. another rare moment of 5sos remembering how much a good bridge can add to a song. the way the melody goes up and just soars in the chorus feels sooooo good. “how can you live and let die, young man?” !!! “i forgot every birthday” !!!!!!!!!!! these lyrics really get me.
CAROUSEL: im going to say something weird here. the verses of this song sound like an imagine dragons x taylor swift collab. like if imagine dragons did a song on 1989. this is like thunder x out of the woods. obviously it gets points for the driving mentions. i LIKE the song a lot, but the fact that the delivery of the verses is so imagine dragons-esque kind of turns me off it. this song was on my first-listen top 5 but wouldn’t be on my top 5 now, if that says anything.
Older: i keep skipping this song which may be unfair of me but the way they explained that it was supposed to sound kind of 50s set up my expectations in a way and then i felt like they didn’t really deliver there. also i have not stopped thinking about what hazel said about how they really underutilized the sierra feature because it’s so true. she could have sung a harmony. it would have been so tasty. like don’t get me wrong, by itself this song is very pretty, but i have to divorce it from what it was Supposed to be and what it Could Have Been, which is difficult. points for a sweet love song sung by luke and sierra, though.
HAZE: i put on the soup! i put on the tie! i heard soup on first listen and i cannot unhear it. it slightly bothers me that they never say the song title in the actual song. i don’t have beef with this song but it does not change my neurochemistry like many of the other songs do. it’s an okay song. it’s nothing to write home about. i like how calum’s voice sings “it’s a hell of a ride”.
You Don’t Go To Parties: i’m in fucking love with this song. i’m so into the concept. my one thing is that the entire song feels like it’s waiting for someone to just belt some shit out and no one ever does. the song doesn’t have any rising moments. it needs to go UP. does this make sense? i don’t know! but it does to me. “took my foot up off the break, it’s not an accident” is a great line. the second verse goes tf off. i like how ashton’s verse feels like the precursor to HUFWULF.
BLENDER: BASS BASS BASS BASS i am so fucking weak for this bassline and then the SLAMMING prechorus and then this totally EPIC staccato rapid fire chorus god i love this song. all the pieces of it just come together in such a perfect way. it builds SO WELL but somehow still manages to get that same like…….punch-and-pull-back effect in the second prechorus to chorus by CUTTING the instruments at the start of the second chorus. on every level this song is fucking genius. i’m gonna say it okay? it’s like babylon but better. babylon elite.
Caramel: i’m actually trying to like this one more, because at this moment it’s closer to mid-tier for me. feldy produced, which is making me want to like it a lot, but i dunno man, it’s not doing it. it’s throwing me that the riff at the end of every other verse line is the same as the riff on “just fiiiine” in ghost of you. i also join the ranks of people who do not understand why this song is called caramel, and ESPECIALLY not why it is mentioned in the lyrics at the moment it is. like overall the word caramel does not really fit into this song equation at all and it’s taking points off the song. i like it as a tune but i keep listening hoping to like it more and it just isn’t happening. “love like a landslide” is a cool line. that hot bass moment at the very end is hot. the acoustic guitar bit right after it is completely out of place but intriguing.
Best Friends: fav fav fav fav fav fav fav fav real tears hitting the ground with this song i want to put myself in a pepper grinder this song makes me feel some kinda way to absolutely no one’s surprise the entire chorus i would like to wear it like a hoodie or a bathrobe also the fact that it’s a BANGER???? it’s actually a straight bop but it’s about how fuckign GREAT friendship is?? also michael’s verse??? his voice is the right one for this. i have nothing coherent left to say this song takes me right out. the fucking echo of “i got the best friends in this place” being the LAST thing you hear from the song. DUDE.
Bleach: i am currently fairly neutral on this song, but it wouldn't surprise me if i had a big bleach phase later in my life where i fall in love with this song because it just feels like the kind of song i would become obsessed with, though i can’t explain that. i’m very into the “bleach in my hair every saturday” line (specificity slaps, we know this). michael singing the second prechorus feels right. still struggling to follow the plot of the song but as far as i’m understanding it i actually really like the concept, so that’s promising. i do not like the final “draaaain” that happens right at the end. that adds basically nothing to the song.
Red Line: on first listen i zoned out. on second listen i was reading the lyrics and realized they made absolutely no sense but they intrigued me to no end. on third listen i did not read the lyrics and just Listened to the song and decided that while i don’t understand it i still really like it. i love train songs!! and i do love the rhythm and the tune of the “how many times did we run from each other?” whole bit. none of these lyrics really make sense to me but “the actor says he hates himself” is fascinating.
Moodswings: the michael & luke octaves is an interesting choice (their voices don’t blend super well) but having michael come in on that upper octave actually adds a LOT to this song from the outset. it makes it interesting. plus the duet-esque thing works here because for the rest of the song luke and michael are kinda doing a call and response thing (like “i don’t even know myself” “knowww myyyseeeelf”) and that sounds super good. obsessed whenever they drop the f bomb. and i think that having the ending be on the lower octave is a strong choice, especially with the lyrical switch from “i just wanna fucking push you away” to “it kills me when i try to push you away”. musical genius.
Flatline: thinking about hazel saying this could be a jonas brothers song. she was right. BUT. to be fair, i like every jonas brothers song ive heard. and i really like this one honestly. LOVE the second verse which has bitchin lyrics about how it’s hard to change but he says i love you without hesitating AND also has a groovy beat. i don’t love when whole sections of songs are sung entirely in falsetto but it doesn’t bother me as much as i would expect it to with this song. the prechorus lyrics are kinda generic but i like the run like hell part.
Emotions: the closest to a pop punk song we get on this album but for a pop punk song it’s not very pop or punk. considering michael wrote on it, produced it, and sings the whole thing, i’m going to say he’s the main guy responsible for this song existing, and i’m mad that he could have leaned in 150% and instead only leaned in 50%. this song needs electric guitars. also the lyrics are just not that creative they’re vague and nonspecific. generic. anyone could have written these lyrics. genuinely he could have gone so hard here and instead he wimped out. great tune by itself but in the context of all this i am disappointed
Bloodhound: this is like wildflower x teeth. the bass is YUMMY though. the chorus is super catchy and i’m into that. specifically the “he sunk his teeth into the bone” part is so sonically delicious, and then “he took an L and he won’t go home” kinda makes me laugh but it doesn’t feel gimmicky like slang in music sometimes does so i actually really like it. “i can’t let it go” sounds just like another song but i am drawing a blank on which one.
TEARS!: still trying to reconcile myself with this song. by itself it’s a straight banger. however. i cannot move past the title. why did they call it that? it’s too on the nose it’s tacky it’s gimmicky and i HATE the exclamation mark. it ruins the effect of the whole song and makes it seem jokey when it’s actually a legit good song about a real feeling. having said that, banger of a song. love a calum/ashton moment. it’s a really fascinating song sonically it goes a lot of different places it hits hard and i love the end of the bridge “i swear to god no one is feeling what i’m feeling” that’s a strong line but man the title i just cannot get over it. oh and: why is it the last song?? it doesn’t feel like an album closer at ALL. very weird choice.

OKAY THIS IS MY TIME, I'M JUMPING IN ON THE SPEAK NOW TRAIN
Enchanted, Long Live, Mine, Back to December and Better Than Revenge. These are my top 5 recommendations.
So, I already said my thoughts on Better than Revenge and Enchanted (now probs in my top 5 Taylor songs holy shit that was good)
Back to December, ‘Maybe this is wishful thinking, probably mindless dreaming’ don’t know why but that might be my fave lyric so far. This one is just so precious, I love it. That bridge hurt (duh, it’s a TS song, what’s new?)
Mine is one of the only ones I already knew, I was obsessed with it as a kid, still know it by heart and it still holds up so well, love it. Little me had excellent taste. But now that I’m listening it to it again… why does it give me Rivusa vibes? Not exactly but just a little bit… this feels like something either of them could sing, especially the bridge. Ouch. ‘I remember that fight, 2:30 a.m. as everything was slipping right out of our hands, I ran out crying and you followed me out into the street. Braced myself for the goodbye cause that’s all I’ve ever known. Then you took me by surprise, you said I’ll never leave you alone.’ OUCH
Long Live, I loved it so much, I can’t even describe it. As a college kid… this one just hits different for some reason and I just… wow love it! This one is 2nd only to Enchanted. So good!!! This one also just feels like a Winx Club song if that makes sense. Like if they made an accurate remake, I can just see this being in the soundtrack. I love it. This one embodies what I’ve got in mind for the end of season 5/ all of season 6

Hello! Ok for context before the achall post, ice listened to Taylor swift all my life, BUT I only listened to the rlly popular songs, watched the music videos or just heard a snippet of one of her songs. And ever since midnights came out I've been listening to all of her albums 1 by 1. So far I've listened to:
Midnights
Reputation
Speak now
Lover
Folklore
And evermore.
And now I'm going to listen to 1989 for the first time, let's go!
Welcome to new York.: I remember listening to the chorus in a secret world of pets and that's it. Is this song abt her first experience in NYC? Kinda repetitive but it's a pop anyways so eh. Sold 8/10 very good 👍.
Blank space: I remember just rewatching the music video we downloaded on my ipad when I was 5. SO GOOD AHHHH!! Nostalgia! I know it off by hand lmao. IM BOPPINH SO HARD RN AHHHHH 10/10 PERFECT!!!
Style: I've heard the beginning and that's it I think. MIDNIGHTS!?!?/jk lol. Nvm I've heard all of it but idk from were? Probably tiktok lol. ITS SUCH A BOP! STYLE STYLE!! WOOOO !!! WE NEVER GO OUT OF STYLE style!!! QHHHHHH 10/10 SO FUCKING GOOD!!! IM FUCKING DANCING 💃
Out of the woods: I know it from her miss Americana doco from netflix and man I love it! It's in my top 5 switie songs. Are we out of the woods yet? Are we out of the woods yet? ARE WE OUT OF THE WOODS YET!!! IM FUCKING BOP!!! AH THE BRIDGE IS MY FAV PART (said by no swiftie ever/s lol) THE ENDING PART AJHHH 1000000000/10 AHHHHHH 💗💕💙🧡💟🧡💜💃🕺💃💃🕺💃💃💃💃
All you had to do was stay: now I've never heard or listened to this song before so this is gonna be fun! WHAT!? IM POGGING! ITS SO BOPPY AH! STAY! I'm vibing. I'm dancing it's good! (Stay!) Don't worry past Taylor you have Joe now so your pretty good! 9/10 rlly good but not a 10, idk why it just isn't to me. Still amazing.
Shake it off: this the meme song too me. I can't even dance to it cuz I've herd it way too many times and it's just funny! All I can think of is tommy joking abt it lmao! I CANT SRSLY CUZ OF TOMMYINNIT KEKW. 5/10 BLAME TOMMY!!! ik all the words to it cuz of it being played 24/7!!!
I wish you would: again a brand new song! Let's see it! Bop, it's definitely a bop. Nothing idk now from the songs before. It's good but isn't giving me that energy like the last couple of songs, STILL RLLY GOOD just isn't making me get up and dance. 6-7/10 just isn't give that energy.
Bad blood: I remember watching the music video when it came out and being confused, I looked at here to check that I wasn't misrembering it. Nope. it looks the exact how I remember. I don't like it! WHY ARE THEIR NAMES THERE I DONT CARE!!! take away their names and it'd be 1000% better in my oppion. Anyways the songs pretty good 👍. Nothing to add it's cachy and good. Solid 8/10. The music video made it lose 2 points. Again the bridge is the best part lol.
Wildest dreams: imma be honest, I've listened to the TV first and never heard the og. And I'm listening to the TV first then the og cuz I rlly love the TV. (TV 10/10 comfort listen.) It's deffo different. The pace different. Her voice is higher but that's abt it. It's like listening to a nightcore cover of a song lol. Og I'd give it an 10/10 + 1 . The exstra point is for the nightmare esc different lol.
How you get the girl: new song YIPPEE!! I'm swaying. It's pretty bopping. I'm vibing! YOOO THE chorus YAAAA. IM DANCING!!! that kisses on cheeks line was pretty gay ngl lol. The ending is good. 9/10 very good!
This love: again new song! But there's a TV of it out rn so imma listen to that insted. It's giving lover/folklore mashup. IT LITCHERALLY SAID CARDENAGAIN!!! WTF HAHAHA!!! it's very nice. Idk what to say it's just rlly good! TV 9/10 very good 👍. I wonder who this songs abt? Hm. Smth for me to google later lol. It's a nice palet clenzer for the playlist to not get burnt out on the bop. Also the TV is exactly the same.
I know places: is it just me or is the beat the exact same as shake it off or is it just me? Anyways it's good. IM POGGING YOOOOO!!! IM VINING AGAIN YOOO!!! It's giving the archer. 10/10 very good!
Clean: I remember listening to a snippet of the song on tiktok but i dong remember it lol. Ok this is very different from any of her songs. I'm vibing. I'm semi-pogging. It's pretty good. It's achally rlly good wtf hahaha! WHAT WAS THAT LINE "the water filled my lungs, I Screamed so loud but no one heard a thing" WTF!? TAYLOR HONEY R U OK!? WHAT HAPPEND!? also that was a very good lyric very good! I just clocked the lyrics wth!? Omg it's so sad but so good. 10/10 I love it. "Just because your clean doesn't know you don't miss it" TAYLOR!!? THATS SO SAD!! IM GONNA CRY!!! (Also I relate he 😜🤪😝) . Why is it so sad T T. I'm crying!!! It's so sad. WAHHHHHH.
Wonderland: I remember watching a music video of the same name (or at leased similar cuz of the mv) and I've never listened to TV so let's go. It's giving Christmas lol. SHES RAPPING LETS GOOOO YESSS YOOOO!!! I'm vibing. YOOOO THE PRODUCTION LETS GOOOO YESSSS. "And whispers turned to talk, and talking turned to screams" cough relate cough cough 0-0. Fuxk yeah! This is a song I wanna learn off by heart! Ah it's so good!!! 10/10 maybe my fav song in the album.
You are in love: the title reminds me of that one Disney sing from Hercules. MIDNIGHTS O! very slow. It's rlly good! It's giving dancing with our hands tied and that's a complement! Aw I'm so happy for you Taylor //^ ^//. It's giving ✨queer✨ for that best friend line. My favourite line was that best friends line. 9/10 very good! Very gay!
New romantics: holy shit! I wasn't expecting semi-rapping & kinda aro lyrics ngl. ITS A POP YOOOO!!! IM VIBING AND POGGING AND FUCK!!! I'm smiling sm to this :D. This is my favourite! I love it ❤ ♥ 💕 💓 . 20/10 AH! LETS GOOOO YES!!!
Now I have questions
Tumblr media
What's these? And what did they sound like?
Favourite songs from this album:

Remus Lupin headcanons for his birthday
(Even tho I missed it by about an hour)
He doesn’t have a good relationship with his father, even before the attack
He was always kind of small and scrawny, and he just grew to be tall and lanky
He grew up moving around a lot and watching the strain it took on his parents to be mobile
When he was eleven, he met Dumbledore and it changed his life, he became a willing servant
Going to Hogwarts was so amazing and cool, making friends was an added bonus
He hit his growth spurts first, making him a good six/eight inches taller for about a year until his friends joined him
(He was still the tallest at almost 6’5”)
James often asked him how the view was
Hogwarts became his safe haven when his mum died and his dad remarried a year later
When he was home he spent so much time alone, and he grew very depressed in the summer
Remus took the leap and started writing Lily the summer between fourth and fifth year, knowing that her home life wasn’t very easy
It made their friendship easier to form when they both became prefects that school year
Remus loved being a prefect and helping younger students, he got James and Sirius to help out with tutoring, James was the only one of the pair to keep it up
Sirius and Remus did butt heads a lot, but they were both really close and often shared stories about their home life together
(Personally I don’t ship wolfstar, but this is where they would start to realize their feelings for each other and start dating - end of 5th year/beginning of 6th year)
Remus was the one to bridge the gap of Lily’s in sureness about the other three boys, Sirius was the first Marauder after Remus to become her friend
He really took on the role of “best friend” for Lily after her falling out with the human garbage
He also sat in between James and Lily and listened to them flirt with each other with a straight face
His blank face was his strongest disguise
He left his home when he was seventeen, crashing with the Potters too
He really took on his “furry little problem” by himself once he was of age, but his friends didn’t allow him too
Graduating for Hogwarts was such a bittersweet moment and he wished his parents, or really his mum, was there to see it
He didn’t have the luxury of throwing all of his efforts into the war, he worked A LOT odd jobs during that time
He was the first person to find out about Harry, holding Lily’s hand when the test turned positive
He constantly reminded James and Lily that this wasn’t the end
(What he didn’t know and would never have wished too)
He held Lily’s hand when she went into labor and watched Harry come into the world
He was the first person after James and Lily to hold Harry

we'd still worship this love
My (first) entry to the @cruelsummer-ficfest! I chose Hinny for my (first) fic and was assigned the song False God from the Lover album.
It's a "Harry and Ginny get back together the summer after the war" fic, featuring some mutual pining and really Harry and Ginny being hopelessly in love.
False God
We were crazy to think Crazy to think that this could work Remember how I said I'd die for you?
We were stupid to jump In the ocean separating us Remember how I'd fly to you?
~`~
Harry stared at the figure in the distance, her long red hair following after her as she flew in circles. That was how he felt right now, the distance, the confusing, circles seemed to be the only thing that made sense right now when nothing else did. He loved her still, had met his death for her, but it didn’t matter.
Nothing mattered with her in the air and him on the ground.
It made sense, he had left her, abandoned her when they had just started together. He had made a mess of things when it didn’t matter either way, and he had ruined everything when it did matter.
“You can just talk to her,” said Charlie, and Harry turned his head, he didn’t know Charlie as well as the other Weasley siblings, but he was Ron’s favorite of his older brothers…and he wrote Ginny the most often. She had made sure to write him at least twice a week, ever since her life dropped off when she was eleven, Charlie made sure that they never got out of touch again. “Don’t need to be staring at her from the kitchen window, acting all worried like mum.”
Harry blushed, feeling like an idiot. He could easily grab a broom and go chase after Ginny, make her talk to him. She was the easiest person in the whole house to talk too, especially with Ron and Hermione gone in Australia.
“Or you can leave her alone,” said Percy from his seat at the kitchen table, not looking up from his cup of tea. “She’s going back to Hogwarts in three weeks, let her be.”
Harry felt uncomfortable, he had once felt like Percy was an older brother, someone he could rely on, but he had betrayed them in the beginning of the war. He had chosen the Ministry’s story over his, and even though they knew now it was on Dumbledore’s orders, it didn’t hurt any less.
But Percy was right all the same. Ginny was leaving again for her final year, and Hermione was going to go with her too, hopefully finding her parents before they had to get on the train again. Harry didn’t even know if he could say goodbye, he loved Hermione as a sister and he loved Ginny…he loved her more than anything.
“Don’t be a cynic, Perce,” said Charlie, sitting down across from his brother, and Harry took this as his chance to slip out the back door. He could recognize an argument brewing before any of the Weasley siblings could.
He sat down on the back steps and watched Ginny fly, wishing that he could make himself get on a broom and follow her. He was tired of leading the way, he had been the focus for so long and he wanted to hide in the background.
But Ginny had never made him feel that way.

Headcanons about Fleur?
@theravenclawartist asked for some Dominique or Fleur headcanons too, so let’s go!
Fleur:
She grew up just outside of Paris with her parents and sister and never imagined ever leaving her country
It took a lot of convincing to get her to come to Hogwarts for the tournament
It was Gabrielle who convinced her
It was during her time at Hogwarts that she decided to leave France and move to London
It was only supposed to be for one year, with A LOT of visits home
But then she met Bill, and fell in love very quickly
Bill gave her a sense of comfort that she never had in France, or with her family, and that, along with the war made her say yes to his proposal
Molly was against it, but Bill fought for her
After the war, Fleur just wanted to have a baby and keep that warm feeling of safety
Victoire became her life and joy, and everything felt perfect
The family was growing, George and Angelina were going to have a baby, Harry and Ginny were engaged, Ron was thinking about proposing
And then Angelina had a stillbirth and the whole family didn't know what to do, but Fleur tried to be there for Angelina, even though Bill wasn't for George
Fleur was a bridesmaid in their wedding that next summer, and she found out she was pregnant again a month later
She lost the baby, Jacques Frederick Weasley, 'Jack'
It was the first break in her and Bill's relationship
Fleur took a very long time to recover, and then she got pregnant with Dominique
Dominique had been a very hard pregnancy and Fleur was constantly anxious, but then she had her second daughter, just as perfect as her first
Finding out she was pregnant again so quickly after Dominique scared her
Louis was born at around 28 weeks, he was only four pounds and they were told that it was unlikely that he would live through the summer
He came home on his original due date in August
Fleur loves to sing, and it's how she used to wake up the kids for school
Her favorite is John Denver for waking the kids up, she loves his voice (though she thinks she does the songs better)
She also tried teaching all three of her kids French, but none of them were a natural at the language, though Louis did pick it up best
Even at her lowest points in her marriage to Bill, she still loved him and went to him for that sense of warmth and protection he put in her when they were younger
It took all three of their kids making a stance and leaving them for them to come back together
I know a lot of people don't like my opinions on Bill and Fleur's relationship, but I like how I wrote them. I see a lot of protentional for them as a couple that fell out of love and found their way back together. I've seen it more with Ron/Hermione, but I think it really would fit Bill and Fleur's characters more.

Ginny Headcanons for her birthday
She has always loved her birthday
Being the youngest, she gets so much attention, and even Bill and Charlie always seem to be around in her birthday
Percy always reads her “babbity rabbity and her cackling stump” for her birthday, a tradition that continues after the war
(It’s their favorite Beedle the Bard story)
She finds out she’s pregnant with James on her 22nd birthday
Okay, onward - she and Harry get married on Aug 16th…right after her 22nd birthday
Ginny is the one to name James actually, she won the right in a game of “rock, paper, scissors”
She knew that Harry wanted to name their son after his dad, and she loved the name James since she was little
But Harry wanted James’ middle name to be Albus and she wanted it to be Sirius
Sirius had been so kind to her when she got nightmares at Grimmauld Place, he would make her hot chocolate and tell her about the uncles she never met
In fact, Sirius told her a lot of stories that she was able to pass onto her brothers, Harry, and later their children
Ginny is always the storyteller
Al was born a week after Ginny’s 24th birthday
She lost the game of “rock, paper, scissors” this time around, but she never once calls him Albus, it’s always Al or Albie when he’s a baby
In fact, Ginny is the reason why Al only goes by Al when he’s older
And finally, she came up with Lily Luna’s name
Harry had been gone in a mission while she was pregnant, and Luna had been a big help to Ginny, practically moving in with her twin boys
They were always going to name their daughter after Harry’s mother, but the middle name was always up in the air
(Originally it was going to be Lily Molly, after both of her grandmothers, possibly Lily Minerva after Professor McGonagall, matching Lily Evans initials)
Lily looks the most like Ginny, but she finds more similarities between herself and her boys
James reminds her a lot of Bill and Percy, even if he does have a trouble streak, he is very loving and great leader and looks after his younger cousins/siblings very well
She finds so many similarities between Al and Fred and George. Al has the same freckles across their nose like the twins, and he Carrie’s so much on his shoulders like they did during the war, she often tells Al about how he reminds her of Fred in his teen years
Lily is all Harry and her grandmothers, she’s the parts of them that clash with Ginny, causing some friction in her teen years that they fight through
Ginny loves her kids so much, she really strived to make their home as comfortable as the Burrow and loves having their kids, their friends, and all of her nieces and nephews over for the summer holidays
She just loves a full house, it brings her back to her childhood
She quit the Harpies for her kids, but looking back on it, she knew that it was time for her to commit to her family in that time
She does keep up most of the workout schedule after she leaves, even years later when her kids are grown
She and Harry like to run together, and living out in the countryside they have plenty of privacy to just go wild
She lets Harry teach the kids how to fly and ride a bike and even how to drive (Ginny never learns how to drive a car) but Ginny teaches their kids her best moves from her playing days (all three of them play chaser like her)

My #1 post of 2022
Weddings & Weasleys:
Bill and Fleur:
They’re colors were gold and dark blue
Fleur’s dress was antique lace with a simple bodice and skirt
She wanted people to notice their inner beauty, not their outer beauty
Bill wanted all of his siblings to have a part of the wedding, but Fleur wanted a smaller bridal party
Charlie was always going to be Bill’s Best Man, but asking Ginny to be part of the bridal party wasn’t in the books
She is Bill’s favorite of the younger siblings though
The reception wasn’t what Fleur wanted before the Death Eaters arrived
She had really wanted to get married in France, but she resigned herself to the Burrow
Still, they were surrounded by people she loved, and one of her children would get married in France someday
Percy and Audrey:
They eloped
Percy didn’t want to be boggled down by plans, he had wanted to propose a month into their relationship
Audrey only had her little brother and she knew that he wouldn’t care if he missed her wedding
They were also pregnant
Audrey does imagine it, the dress she would’ve made for herself, the ceremony in the church she grew up going to, the reception in her parents back garden
Her mother helping her get ready, her father walking her down the aisle, both of her brothers mixed in with the other groomsmen
But it’s all wishful thinking because marrying Percy is the most happiness she gets until their girls are born
Percy remembers their wedding day whenever anything bad happens to them or their girls, because it means he has Audrey at his side
George and Angelina:
They planned it for a few months
They got married at their home, in the back garden with their families
They both were a mess during the ceremony, both crying and clinging to each other, but so so so happy
The reception was wild
Lots of alcohol and dancing, lots of joy and the toasts were ridiculous
Percy stepped in as Best Man and Alicia was Maid of Honor
Their godchildren and Victoire and Teddy were flower girls and the ring bearers
It was really cute and lovely and neither of them would’ve changed any of it
They were missing quite a few people, but they were remembered throughout the day in their friends and family

Day 26 - Samuel P Taylor State Park to Half Moon Bay (Francis Beach Campground)
What a day (in a good way). Exhausting for sure, and a bit of everything.
Got an early start from camp, knowing it would be a longer day, particularly navigating through a big city. Said goodbye to Shannon - who finished her trip today in San Francisco - and Donald from Quebec who I've been at the same camp for three nights in a row now. He is travelling with his small dog, Harley, but will be flying with Harley from San Francisco to Mexico to let his dad watch him as the trip might a bit too much for the 17 year old pup. Donald will then fly back to San Fran to continue his tour to Argentina.
Had a nice bike trail leaving camp before rejoining the roadway leading into Fairfax. I think I missed a turn while in Fairfax, and a guy (Gary) in his car pulled up beside me as I was cycling and told me the bike lane was a block or so over. I said thanks and looked for the next right to get over a street. Cycling a bit more, I saw him stopped on the road. We ended up chatting a bunch - he cycles quite a bit and helped me figure out the best route to the Golden Gate Bridge. He has done a couple tours himself over in Europe. Very nice guy.
I eventually made my way through Fairfax and Ross which were quite beautiful towns that looked like they had a lot to offer. Had I known I would have spent some more time in that area. I think of all the places I've cycled through so far, that area north of San Francisco would be top of the list to visit again.
I eventually made it to get Golden Gate Bridge and biked up to a lookout for a photo op. Luckily the sun was out and I could see the bridge and city in the distance. The fog was still quite visible off the coast.
I went back down the hill to cross the bridge only to find the west side pedastrian pathway closed (until 3:30pm apparently…it's used as a maintenance pathway prior to that). So I had to lug my bike down and up a long set of stairs to cross over to the pedestrian/cycle path on the other side. A bit of a workout in its own right.
Once across, the challenge of navigating the route Google showed me was on. I think Google did well to avoid hills as much as possible, but they can't be entirely avoided and there were plenty of steep climbs enroute. I also had to stop constantly to check my phone, making sure I hadn't missed a turn. It did seem like Google took me the same route as bike path signs in the city, so that helped a fair bit.
Eventually made my way out after a lot of stop-and-go and big hills. The route was close to the beaches on the coast which were fairly chilly, windy, and grey.
Pacifica was the next challenge. There is a big climb out of that city on the highway with no shoulder and blind corners. I've read online it's super sketchy and for a lot of people the most dangerous part of the Pacific coast route. Luckily I also read online of a unofficial bike trail you can take instead. So I took that. It was hike-a-bike for maybe 200m or so, and was quite the challenge to push my bike up the path, but it eventually leveled out so I could ride. The trail puts you back onto Hwy 1 at the top of the climb and where the shoulder starts again, just before an area known as Devil's Slide.
Devil's Slide is the old Hwy 1 route which was replaced by tunnels in 2013 due to the continual landslides on the highway. It is now a cycling/walking road that skirts around the mountain top and was a great ride.
Mercifully, once back on Hwy 1 there was a strong tailwind pushing me to my destination as it was getting late (for my tastes, anyway - arrived to camp shortly before 5) and I was pretty spent. There was also a nice long bike path along the coast that I was able to join leading right into the campground.
Camping in Half Moon Bay tonight where it's plenty windy. Tomorrow should be an easier day to Santa Cruz.

Socialità
Chapter 1
Genres: Light fluff, tinge of romance and wholesome(?)
Warning(s): The littlest bit of sexual tension if you squint
----------
Fortune, fame, beauty.
Those are the things that people had associated you with.
Who does not know Y/F/N Y/L/N? You're basically in every magazine cover, every Youtube thumbnail and news headline. Surpassing Kylie Jenner as quote unquote The World's Richest Young Businesswoman and even beating Ariana Grande as the most followed female influencer on Instagram.
Who really are you? Well, to explain it simply to people who are unaware of you, your businesses and socialite status, you are the owner of a multi-billion dollar brand.
What started with a small online business at 16 which sells nightwear for women with affordable, cheap prices had bloomed into a luxury brand known for their elegant, classy clothing line, ranging from lingerie to formal clothing such as glamorous dresses to charming suits and tuxedos for both men and women.
The brand name? After years of rebranding, it's finally official that the name is, Socialità. Fitting with your brand's target market which were rich socialites from across the globe. Of course there was a reason for that, considering that the materials were high quality, imported ones such as satin and silk from Japan, Egyptian cotton, and French lace, also the designing and productions team who were amongst the best in the art of fashion and exclusivity of everything that was made under the brand, without a doubt would result in a higher cost of production and simultaneously a higher price for the merchandise itself.
And all this success did not come easy, there were countless times when you wanted to hideaway and give up on everything you had invested on. At the age of 28, you finally got to where you are now, thriving with the business that you had built with your own bare hands from the confines of your own bedroom.
But, there was one thing that you were lacking in, the love department. Although you were pretty much well-known by youngsters to elders alike, luck does not seem to be on your side when it comes to romantic relationships. It's not that you weren't romantic or sweet enough, gosh you are a hopeless romantic actually, but you just somehow fall for the wrong person, time and time again.
All the people you had dated once you established a name in the fashion world were either self-centered jerks or gold-digging leeches who were only there for the fame and riches. It's as if you had dated way more men than Taylor Swift ever had, except, you don't call these people out in songs.
Aside from owning a lavish clothing brand and billions to your name, having to work with socialite circles, had granted you the socialite status too. You'd be lying if you say that no rich bachelor had tried to flirt around with you but, your previous horrible experiences with dating as a successful businesswoman made you put your guard up and in the end turning you into the most sought after bachelorette of the 21st century.
-----
"What??? The Bachelorette?? Gosh guys, that would be a horrible idea." You shook your head, swirling the red wine in your glass before sipping on it.
It was a normal weekend evening for you and your peers aka your personal management team which consisted of Selma, Carrie, Lulu, Trey and Giovanni. Sitting in the dining room of your enormous mansion in Calabasas while drinking cheap wine and munching on Cheeto Puffs.
You just finished ranting about how you are so unlucky in love and that you're almost turning 30, without being cuffed to someone. In your opinion, people in their late 20s had already met that person and having good balance in their work, social and love lives but you're here having a nonexistent love life instead.
Tired of constantly listening to the same rants over and over again, Giovanni proposed that you put yourself in a controversial yet exciting TV show, The Bachelorette.
"Girllll you should give The Bachelorette a try, I mean I know that the show is basically scripted but it seems exciting, no?" Giovanni chirped.
"Oh my god yasssss! I'd have the time of my life if I'm surrounded by a dozen of good-looking hunks!" Carrie joined in and daydreamed.
You snorted and put your glass down on the marble surface of the table.
"Yeah but the men on there are usually insincere and only in it for their 60 seconds of fame and the winner of the show is probably just motivated by money. What difference does it make with me going to a private party or nightclub and getting to know dudes there?" You retorted; brow raising to your two friends.
"Sis, the difference is, these men would have to submit a form regarding their background and audition for the show! If you want, we could even be your reps during the audition. We know who are the best people for you!" Selma answered your rhetorical question while pouring herself another glass of wine. She's your PA and bestie so she knew how to reply with the same energy as yours.
Sighing deeply with your fingers pinching your nose bridge, you thought once, twice, thrice and made your decision. Well, what's the worst that could happen right?
"Fine, fine! I'm in with the idea. But if this thing goes south, I.Am.Out." The dominant businesswoman persona in you presented herself whilst the others, especially Giovanni, cheered upon your agreement with their idea.
-----
After months of preparations for your big reality TV debut, it was finally the day for the first week of The Bachelorette. Although you're the one being the prize and the one being chased, you felt uneasy and nervous to meet the men who had passed the auditions to become contestants.
"Don't worry! Me and Giovanni made sure that we only let the best ones pass the audition. And when I say the best ones, I meant, socialites, doctors, businessmen and even kinsmen of royalty!"
"Only the best for our QUEEN!"
Those were the words that came out of Selma and Gio's mouths. Thankfully you have these reliable people to help filter through the applicants of the program. If you gave the show's producers 100% control over who comes in and comes out of the show, it'll be a hot mess and they'd probably choose the men based on their looks and bulkiness but not necessarily the brains and skills.
Throughout the audition process, all of the men's background and names were kept a secret from you by Selma and Gio, it'll be a surprise, they said and you trusted them with it.
Sitting at the back of a limousine alone, you started to fidget with the dangling diamond of your earring subconsciously; a habit that you developed whenever you had cold feet.
The vehicle was heading towards the villa where the first meeting would happen between you, the bachelorette and your suitors.
You and the production team had discussed about how the first meeting would be. You thought that the idea of having to stand in front of the villa's front door while the men arrive in limos were quite cringy and not to mention time-consuming and unnatural so you proposed the idea of having the men arrive in a first come first serve basis and sit in numbered rooms in the villa while awaiting you. In that way, you could see who was punctual and who was late. But the catch is, the contestants only have 5 minutes to chat up with you and leave a good first impression.
-----
Alas, you finally reached the villa and stepped out of the automobile. Your dress was a satin, rosé coloured one with a modified A-line, basque waist and halter neckline; glamorous yet not over the top, suitable for a socialite like you.
Not wasting any time, once the cameras started rolling, you entered the ginormous villa and headed upstairs to the rooms, knocking the door gently before entering the space.
The first man you met was Kim Namjoon, he introduced himself as an engineer, a sound engineer. He was confident from the get go and eloquent too.
"Hmm an engineer ay?" You propped your head with the palm of your hand; leaning against the couch's back pillows.
"Yeah.. My family insisted I do that. I wanted to be a musician at first, and that's why I took up sound engineering now." He gave out a dimple smile which you couldn't help but grin at. They're adorable.
You liked his presence and how outspoken he was but sadly the 5 minutes were before you knew it.
Next, you met up with a gentleman named Im Jaebum. A winery owner. He gave you a warm hug from the first time you entered the room.
"I heard that you're a wine conoisseur yourself Y/N? I'd love to take you to Napa Valley where my winery is. I'm sure we'll have a blast there." He smiled and acted a bit smug.
"That sounds like a plan.. I'm not a person who would say no to wine." You replied with a light wink, returning the smugness to him.
Continuing on, after Jaebum, you entered a room which looked bigger than the previous two you'd been in.
By the big window, there was a man with broad shoulders who introduced himself as Kim Seokjin, as he turned around, he greeted you and pecked your hand.
"Nice to meet you I'm Kim Seokjin, just call me Jin." He smiled softly, inviting you to sit down next to him.
"Nice to meet you too Jin.. So what do you do?" You asked carefully; quite intrigued by how good-looking he is with the slicked back hairstyle he has.
"Well I'm a professor of English and Korean Literature. Probably one of the most uninteresting jobs among the other guys." He timidly admitted; being quite humble.
You immediately disagreed with his statement, telling him that literature components are fascinating and that educating people about it is a magnificent job.
Afterwards you conversed with a man named Park Jinyoung. He was also extremely dashing and he's a car dealer. But not just any car, the ones he sells are top brands such a Lamborghini, Maserati, Tesla and Ferrari.
"My job is amazing. Good money, good image, but there was something missing and I think we both could relate to that, we both are looking for love." He half-bragged which didn't really impress you but you agreed nonetheless.
As you politely excused yourself to move on to the next room, where the man was leaning back and scrolling through his phone. Fair skin and contrasting ebony coloured hair.
This guy gave off a cold vibe to you but that made you even more intrigued to get to know him.
"Hi..." You sat on the couch with him and he gave a small smile as he put his phone the side.
"Min Yoongi.. Nice to meet you." He extended his hand out to shake yours. A pretty formal greeting despite the consequences you two were in at the moment.
You two kept the conversation going by talking about your jobs and background. Everything you asked, he answered in all honestly and you liked that. The push-and-pull game was a fun one to play but with Yoongi, the small talk you had was chill and relaxed, the most natural one you had the whole night.
Up next was a kind looking male, taller than Yoongi who seem to be nervous about meeting you for the first time.
"Hello!" You greeted him with a bright smile to ease his anxiousness.
"Hi, hi.. I'm Mark Tuan. I'm an artist.." He abruptly greeted you back.
"Ooh! Like musically or..?" You tilted your head.
"Visually.. I draw and paint."
You led the conversation with the man since he looked very hesitant and awkward the whole time.
The next room had a bubbly and energetic man who was basically radiating good vibes as you entered the room. His name was Jung Hoseok. As you peeked into the room, he immediately walked towards you and gave you tight bear hug with a huge smile plastered on his face.
"Well besides my job as a paediatric specialist, I also enjoy dancing. Do you like to dance?" He jumped off the seat and proceeded to pull you up with him to playfully salsa. His actions made you laugh happily.
"You're so spontaneous!" You hit his chest lightly, still laughing at you guys' actions.
After the exciting interaction between you and Hoseok, you had to calm down and lower your expectations again after it skyrocketed because of the doctor earlier.
That's when you met a muscular man, if Hoseok earlier had radiated good boy vibes, this one radiated bad boy vibes.
He was Jackson Wang, a well-known socialite who is the heir of Wang Co. Ltd. A company which sells electronics such as smartphones, tablets and computers.
"Hello.." You said softly, slightly intimidated by the man's comparably bigger size to you.
"Hello, pretty lady." He took your hand in his and kissed it just like Jin had but his way of executing it was different. The male kissed each of your knuckle and it got you culture shocked.
"Oh wow.. Okay.." You laughed awkwardly as you looked at the man kiss your hand.
The conversation went well with him despite you noticing that he was practically staring at your with those deep brown eyes while you spoke about yourself to him.
The sexual tension was there and you were hoping, praying that the next man would tone down a bit and let you relax, thankfully custom jeweler, Park Jimin did.
"I'm a jeweler.. And can I just say, I adore these diamonds. You have remarkable taste." He proceeded to run his hand gently through the diamond earring you were wearing.
"Thank you! And I absolutely adore this choker you have on.." You reciprocated his action which made him smile softly.
Next up was the room of a private jet pilot named Choi Youngjae.
"Nice to meet you Y/N! I hope we could create good memories here. I'd love to bring you on a helicopter and show you the aerial view of California." He mused but you're not entirely impressed but acted as if you were in order to not hurt his feelings.
"Aww I'd like that. The view must be amazing!" You cringed at your own words but smart enough to mask it.
Hmm, you foresee someone who's potentially going to go home first in this show. His words lacked personality and character and not well thought.
Come on, you obviously had rode a helicopter and saw the aerial view of California. You ride it to work whenever the traffic is congested. He could at least thought of another country or state but instead he settled with Cali, the state where you are based in.
Disappointed, you moved on to the next room, surprisingly, the atmosphere was different, the area was dimly lit and the man sitting on the chair had his legs spread.
"Hi.." He spoke with a deep, low voice that caused you to bite your lip.
"Hello.." You smiled amidst the tense situation, making your way towards him.
"Kim Taehyung.. Fashion designer and owner of TH Couture." He answered without you asking.
The male was quite blunt but his demeanor was alluring. There was a mysterious aura circling him, totally someone to keep an eye on. The conversation was as intense as Jackson's but the two of you had the same interest which was fashion so you didn't feel as awkward as when you were with Jackson.
After Taehyung, it is down to three more people, you were already losing momentum and excitement as you already had spoken to 11 men that night. Before entering the next room, you took a deep breathe and loosen up your shoulders.
In the room was a man, he looked the most different, he had a lengthy name, a Thai one.
"Kunpimook Bhuwakul, but just call me Bam Bam.. I know my name's quite long and I'm also more comfy with Bam Bam.." He bowed to you like a gentleman and smiled handsomely at you.
"That's an adorable name! Bam Bam huh?" You sat down and grinned at the latter.
"You think so? You're adorable-er" He winked at you and caught you off-guard.
As the five minutes of jokes and flirty pickup lines ended, you bid farewell to the Thai man, little did you know that the person you just talked to was related to the Thai royal family.
Entering the 2nd last room, there was a tall man, looking around the well-furnished room but as soon as you came in, his attention diverted to you.
He greeted you with enthusiasm, introducing himself as Kim Yugyeom, an app developer and gaming streamer.
"Gosh you're pretty." He said straight-forwardly while smiling brightly and hugging you snugly.
"And GOSH you're tall!" You replied with those words and the same smile as what he had on his face. At this rate, reciprocation is really your best friend when you don't know how to react or reply to a certain remark from the suitors.
You talked about the apps Yugyeom had developed and the variations amazed you. He had created tons of apps such as games, workout apps, e-commerce platforms, online stores and sorts. But when he started talking about games, you began to lose interest in the chatter. Games weren't your strongest suit but you were happy that he is passionate about them and sharing it with you.
Finally! The last room! Which meant that this person is the last person to arrive to the villa. You wonder who this latecomer is and when you got into the area, your eyes widened.
Jeon Jungkook? He was somebody you had worked with and still actively working with. He is the person in charge of the photography and videography for Socialità and seeing him on The Bachelorette is a huge surprise.
"Wait.. JK?" You didn't know how to react.
"Hey! There's my girl!" He walked towards you with his bunny smile and gave you a hug. You couldn't believe that this was happening, Selma and Gio must've put him in to pull a prank on you.
"One question. Why?" You laughed in disbelief.
"Can't a man try?" He questioned back cheekily.
You two continued the conversation casually without any awkwardness as the two of you had known each other already. That was when you got to know that he had taken a liking on you ever since you two started working together. Everything he told you had sounded sincere so far.
-----
After the first meetings were over, all the men were put in the lounge to get to know each other's competition while you were interviewed by the crew regarding your first impressions of all of your suitors.
"Well everyone was pleasant. But there were a few who didn't pass my vibe check. I guess we just gotta see how it goes." You gave an ambiguous answer to the camera.
"Who do you think caught your eyes the most?" Henry, the producer asked.
"Hmm.. I don't want to seem bias, I mean this is the 1st episode after all but... Hoseok was fun to be around.. Jackson came off very strong. And well Jungkook too of course!"
"You seem to know him.." The producer stated.
"Yes yes.. We actually work together.. I didn't know that he'd want to participate in this show too." You shrugged and flashed a pearly white smile.
"Do you see anyone who might be going home soon?"
"Oof.. That's a dangerous question. That'd probably be ..."

A year ago, the guitar was in dire straits. With songs like Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode,” Ariana Grande’s “7 Rings,” Lizzo’s “Truth Hurts” and Panic! At the Disco’s “High Hopes” among the most consumed of 2019, programmed beats and horns were the sonic flavors of popular music. Sure, there were outliers — the Jonas Brothers’ “Sucker,” Maroon 5’s “Memories” and Post Malone’s “Circles” among them — but as the rock and alternative genres embraced artists like Billie Eilish, whose innovative music made the traditional band approach feel outdated, the days of chords and solos seemed numbered if not headed towards irrelevance.
Then came the coronavirus pandemic and things changed. Forced to perform from home or in rooms not intended for live music during lockdown, many artists went back to basics and out came the trusty six-string. For iHeartRadio’s “Living Room Concert for America” in March, Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl played an acoustic Guild on “My Hero”; Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day strummed to his band’s “Boulevard of Broken Dreams”; and even Eilish, with her collaborator brother Finneas, sang her hit “Bad Guy” accompanied by only a Fender acoustic. Other benefit livestreams like Global Citizen’s “One World Together At Home” event saw the Rolling Stones, Keith Urban and Shawn Mendes strip down their hit songs for unplugged versions. And in April, Miley Cyrus delivered an emotional cover of Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here” on “Saturday Night Live” with Andrew Watt, himself a COVID survivor, on guitar.
At the same time, there was an electric guitar solo being heard on one of the most-played songs in the United States. Harry Styles’ “Adore You,” which has logged 1.1 million radio spins in 2020, according to Mediabase, and has been streamed more than 400 million times, per Alpha Data, features the playing of Kid Harpoon (real name: Tom Hull), Styles’ friend and producer, who handled the guitar parts for much of the Brit’s excellent “Fine Line” album, released in Dec. 2019. As it turns out, the melody of the solo, which also serves as the bridge to “Adore You,” was first hummed by Styles for Hull to emulate. “I did it with my mouth into a microphone,” Styles told Variety in October. “And then Tom sent me this video trying to get it to sound the same. He spent a couple of hours getting it.”
Why include a guitar solo when most pop songs would never dare? “I feel it’s kind of like ‘La La Land’ saving jazz  — only for rock ‘n’ roll,” Styles cracked when posed with the question. But more seriously speaking, Variety‘s Hitmaker of the Year added: “I’m not a spearheader of the movement, like, ‘Let’s bring back guitars.’ There’s plenty of times when [a song] doesn’t sound better with a guitar, and you don’t use it. But a lot of the references I grew up with have guitars; and it’s the first instrument I played, so it makes sense that I would like the sound of them more. I don’t think the guitar is dying. Guitars are great and always have been.”
In fact, guitar sales in 2020 have been robust. Music retailer Sweetwater reports more than 50% year-over-year growth in guitar purchases, with even larger increases during the peak COVID months of April, May and June “when customers most likely hunkered down to practice and create music after watching all of the streaming video they could handle,” according to a rep for the Indiana-based company.
The spike extended to other string instruments as well, which saw growth of more than 70% year-over-year in the price range of $299 or lower. The metric indicates that “new players are joining the fold,” says Sweetwater, which has been in business for over four decades and operates online. (Competitor Guitar Center, with more than 250 physical locations in the U.S., did not fare as well, filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last month.)
Even in the virtual world, learning to play an instrument has taken off during lockdown. The platform Yousician, which provides interactive learning for guitar, bass, ukulele, piano and voice, currently reigns as the No. 1 app for music instruction while its sister product, GuitarTuna, is tops for guitar tuning.
Ask current writers and producers working in pop and hip-hop about their process and you soon learn that an acoustic guitar is often the beginning or the essence of a hit song. Among Variety‘s 2020 Hitmakers, the trio of Taz Taylor, Charlie Handsome and KC Supreme credited a guitar loop as the foundation for Trevor Daniel’s “Falling.” For Maren Morris’ “The Bones,” producer Greg Kurstin noted: “The first thing I noticed was Jimmy Robbins’ guitar hook; I wanted to keep the song rooted in that.”
“So many hit songs from 2020 started with a acoustic or electric guitar, whether it be a melody line or simple progression,” says songwriter and producer Jenna Andrews, whose recent credits include BTS’ “Dynamite” and Benee’s “Supalonely.”
And often, those guitar-based foundations remained through the finished product — for instance, 24KGoldn’s “Mood,” with its impossibly catchy sun-kissed guitar riff, and Powfu’s “death bed (coffee for your head).”
“I know it sounds kinda old school, but I love it when a well-recorded acoustic pops off on the radio,” says Sam Hollander, whose hits include the aforementioned “High Hopes” and Fitz and the Tantrums’ “HandClap.” “The bulk of my songs tend to be born on guitar. Without that foundation, the lyrics and melodies never really emote the heartbeat and emotion that I’m trying to dial in. There’s just a general warmth to it that’s hard to replicate. It’s like the warmest chocolate chip cookie.”
“I think the prevalence of guitar in 2020 has a lot to do with hip-hop producers using more emo and punk-rock influences,” offers Angie Pagano, whose AMP management company represents Tommy Brown (Ariana Grande, Blackpink) and Mr. Franks, among others. “Juice Wrld really helped bring this into the mainstream over the last few years. We’re seeing a great blend of emo and trap these days.”
Indeed, the year’s most-consumed hits leaned hip-hop — Roddy Ricch’s “The Box” landed at No. 1 on the Hitmakers list with Future and Drake, Jack Harlow and Megan Thee Stallion in the Top 10 — but even DaBaby’s “Rockstar,” the No. 3 song of the year, referenced a guitar in its chorus, albeit alongside mention of a Glock pistol. That visual may go against what Hollander calls “the Kumbaya vibe of the guitar,” but the song still features an acoustic strum at its core.
In the case of Styles’ 2020 successes, which also include the ubiquitous “Watermelon Sugar,” his producer further explained that, while aware of what was reacting on the charts at the time they were recording, Styles wasn’t about to chase the trends. Said Tom Hull: “We [thought], we can’t play the commercial game in terms of what’s happening right now. What we can do is make music that really resonates with us. There’s no blueprint. You just have faith. We love records from the ’70s and ’80s; weird prog rock music that might be a seven-minute instrumental; then you’re listening to Shania Twain, like, ‘This is awesome, too.’ The goal was to make something we will always love, and if it completely flops commercially, at least we know we love it. We have that.”
