Happy Friday everyone! Doing today cause I shall be doing 5x01 On Sunday like I mentioned before to not be posting on Christmas. :) Holy crap we’re on the S4 finale. I remember when I watching it when it premiered thinking is this real life? Thought I was in a fever dream haha Made some long gifs to fit everything in LOL This one is super packed also this ep doesn’t need much more of an intro. So let’s get this party started.

4x22 Day in The Hole

Our fav patch work family gets the cold open. This moment truly is Tim and Lucy in mom/dad mode. Makes me so damn happy. Tim complaining because Tamara is late to meet them. Moaning on and on saying they have to go... but makes no effort to actually move or leave. Because the both of them have Tim wrapped around their finger. That man isn't moving but will complain the whole time about it LOL Lucy going into wifey mode calming him down saying she’ll be here. Relax. ha

Tamara pulls in and almost hits someone. In a police station parking lot... Their reactions I’m dying. Just a couple of concerned parents watching their kid almost cause an accident. Lucy is a proud mom as she pulls up. Clapping her hands. Tim looking like the stern father. He glares at the car wanting to see if this car is safe enough for her. This is a glimpse into them as parents. I’m liking what I see. Also can I say how cute it is Lucy wants Tim to look at her car in first place. Of course he said yes.

Tamara comes out and says isn’t she pretty? Saying it’s her first car. Lucy correcting her saying actually her car was her first. Tamara makes a joke about it being her fifth if they’re talking stolen. Tim has such a dad moment. ‘What?’ She loves to push their buttons it’s hilarious. Telling Tim it's a joke. Just loves messing with her pseudo mom and dad. Lives for it really. This is a fantastic way to start this episode off.

The family energy in this scene giving me all the feels. Lucy telling her to get it checked by the mechanic first. That you never know what cars from seized police auction go through. Tamara says Tim set her up with his guy already. Lucy is beaming about this. Says ‘Awww you do have a heart.’ ha Tim can't be seen as soft so he deflects.

But you are soft for both your girls Tim…This much is obvious ha You're a soft little puppy for them. I mean it's only for them but a marshmallow none the less. His reply is sassy af. Saying it’s purely out of self interest. He didn’t want to deal with Lucy being a drag with her dying in a mangled fireball of metal on the 405. The scoff/look Tamara shoots his way is hilarious. Tim fires back ‘Joke.’

Like Father like daughter and I’m dying with the cuteness in this cold open. Also Tim mirroring her posture from when she said 'Joke' to him. LMAO Unfortunately a drug sniffing dog starts barking at the car. Tim opens the hatch back and searches it. Find kilos of drugs hidden in the compartment. Tamara looks so sad. ‘I’m not getting my car back am I?’ Hahaha Sorry my dear you are definitely not…

Lucy looks up who the car is registered to. It's ‘Jake Butler.’ Lucy pulls up his mug shot and is confused as hell. Ahhhh the beginning of Dim it’s glorious. They pick up his doppelgänger and it's pretty amusing. Didn’t have room for that portion but his ‘Yo, why you looking like me?’ LOL Kills me. They get him into interrogation and the girls are having a field day with it. Enjoying Tim's discomfort so very much. Tim isn’t about this whatsoever of course.

Lucy says maybe they were separated at birth? Tim replies he’s a year older than him and was born in FL. You can see how unsettling he finds this. Tim tries to brush this off. Saying he doesn’t look that much like him. Ok honey… Angela saying he’s not the brightest bulb. Lucy gets excited and says ‘Tim and Dim’ LMAO Enjoying herself far too much with this. Angela and Nyla are joining in on it laughing with her. They aren't helping tamp down her excitement about this at all.

Tim calling Jake 'Dim' is hilarious. Lucy's face when he does is too cute. Also It cracks me up the minute they enter interrogation Dim hits on Lucy. Doesn't waste any time. I’m dying. Also you know Melissa and Eric had a blast filming these scenes. They’re so funny. The cockiness on Dim saying she would remember ha! Man isn’t lacking in the confidence department that's for sure. They tell him they found his car. He gets all excited saying someone stole it LOL

They inform him it was towed cause he parked by a hydrant haha Tim confronts him about the drugs in the car and Dim denies having it. Because of course he does. His fingerprints are all over the bags. Tim says he helps them and they’ll keep him out of prison. Dim gets offended and says he thought they had a bond ha.

Lucy asks where the drugs came from? He tells them Mexico that he was supposed to drive them over the border. But then he wanted to see his girl first before he dropped them off. I.e. Juicy heh When he came back out the car was gone. Tim asks for the name of the guy they were going to. He tells them Ray Hajek. Lucy gets a look in her eye and asks if his crew ever met him? He tells them no but why? We watch Lucy light up and Tim is confused why she is so excited haha

It’s here we see Lucy’s excitement go into hyperdrive. I love this portion because she is like a kid in a candy store with this. The sugary high to go along with it LOL Grey and Angela are no help to Tim whatsoever. They are beyond amused by Lucy’s antics. Like to note how easily Tim gives into Lucy’s demands here btw. You're married you just don’t know it yet.

Once he agrees Lucy gets ultra hyper which has me cackling. I love how she stops him with her hands. Because she’s too excited to walk now. Saying all the things they need to do to get him to look like Dim. Tim pointing out she is enjoying this way too much. Duh. I love her excited speed walk to catch up to him and say he needs tattoos. Lucy was a little too excited for those tats heh She sure loves the idea of a clean cut Tim Bradford covered in tattoos.

We pan to Lucy being on the team watching Tim’s OP. Part of the rescue team if needed. Kinda nice to see her on the watching end instead of him. Being just as much the worried wifey as he is the husband for her when she does UC. He gets taken up to the boss and does a damn good job of it. They’re pissed at him first because he disappeared with their drugs. Tim saying he went to ground because he didn’t want to get caught. Trying to avoid jamming him up.

He then asks why Wisco his heavy shouldn’t throw him over the balcony? We watch Lucy and Angela tense up. Tim has this handled with his reply above though. He is shocked with his intelligent reply. Saying he heard he was dumb. Tim continues on saying he wants people to think he’s dumb. Means they underestimate him.

That answer is enough for him. Tell Tim get his cash on way out. Or he could do another job for him and triple it. Tim asks what kind of job? He won’t divulge that portion just yet. Only that it’s heavy and tomorrow. They’ll need a driver. They heard his old lady is fast. Tim makes a crack 'Sometimes too fast.' He laughs and tells him they’ll be in touch with him.

Angela catches Lucy and tells her she had Dim’s GF picked up. Lucy is like 'Ok…Wait why are you being weird?' Angela says she needs to see for herself. She is enjoying this far too much. It’s Juicy! Haha Having AU Tim and Lucy makes my soul happy ahahah Now Tim is the one enjoying himself. Lucy is in shock when she sees her doppelgänger. Angela adding in ‘I guess we know who’s going undercover with Dim.’

Tim’s taunting is funny I’m rolling. ‘Yeah Juicy.’ ‘No’ ‘Mmhmm It’s Juicy’ LOL I’m dying this is so hilarious. Not so funny when it’s your double eh Lucy? Also you know Angela was enjoying this way too much as well. Lucy’s ‘I don’t like that…’ cracks me up. She is so disturbed by having her own double. She was having fun before and now she doesn't like it. Also probably stirring some stuff up there is an AU version of them out there. Not only that but they're together.

We’ve arrived at THE scene for the episode. Tim is over at Lucy’s for OP prep. Saying the backstory has to be airtight. Lucy agrees with him and asks how they met? Tim's answer of a BBQ is vanilla as it gets. This is why she’s the UC babe LOL Lucy telling him that’s lame. I love her just being so upfront with him. She always is but there is a confidence here I love. This is her wheelhouse and Tim is just along for the ride. This is her show really and she proves that in this scene.

Tim is such a stubborn turd saying ‘You think you can do better?’ Oh Timothy you’re about to have your mind blown and your brain broken…She starts out strong saying ‘Watch me.’ Lucy rubs her hands together. Saying they met because he was on the run from the cops. Tim nodding along but not totally sold yet. Lucy continues on with he ended up in her building frantic.Looking for a place to hide.

That she was the one who opened up the door for him. That she lied to the cops for him. It's here we see Tim starts to be impressed with her backstory. That sweet smirk of his in the second gif. You know he is in awe of her right now. That smirk and head tilt is a dead giveaway. Look at how soft he looks gazing at her. Fooling no one sir.

Lucy’s confidence continues as she finishes up their backstory. It's the smug smile and direct eye contact she gives him as she delivers that line above that gets me. I watch this scene and I’m still in shock we got it. That Lucy is talking about their alter egos hooking up while the cops search for him. Thus his brain malfunctioning. Tim’s reaction is glorious. It will always make me laugh no matter how many times I see it.

Kudos to Eric for crushing it like he always does. Lucy short circuited his brain and it shows. He is having an repeated error message and failing to reboot. You can tell he’s trying to hide the fact she turned him on a little. She achieved this with her confidence through out the story and just blowing his mind right at the end. The man will never recover. He is legit speechless.

Tim was not expecting her to go there at all. She floored him while simultaneously turning him on LOL His professional brain came to a screeching halt when she finished. Also I'm sure he wasn't expecting to be turned on by just her words either. His body was not ready for such things. Good thing he’s sitting cause I’m sure his pants just got a little tighter….

Tim then remembers he has to reply to her plan now haha Trying to gain his wits about him. Telling her ‘Ok….that..that's pretty good actually.’ Pretty good? She just blew your backstory out of the water. Then proceeded to make your brain stop working. You know he’s a mixture of turned on and impressed as hell with her. Won’t say so but his face said it all for us didn’t it? He legit had his jaw drop like a cartoon hahaha

Tim is seeing she truly is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to UC holy crap. She is also basking in the fact that she crushed his plan with her own, made him speechless, and then got a compliment out of him. Lucy is feeling pretty proud of herself when she says 'Thank you.' I love seeing this confidence on her. It's a good look. Just like I'll never over Tim's growth same goes for her. To see the confident bad ass woman she is now. How far she's come. I love it seeing it.

Once Tim has some semblance of a brain back he mentions the elephant in the room. That if they’re gonna sell they're together. They’re gonna have to...You know…. Lucy knowing exactly what he’s talking about but giving him a hard time. Trying to get him to say the words. Pretending like she has no idea what he’s talking about. He continues to get flustered and stammers around. Poor Tim. He struggles with his words and stutters. He’s shocked she doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

Lucy is enjoying herself far too much. Look at her face. Letting him dangle and trip over his words. Knowing talking about this is making him so very uncomfortable LOL So mean to do to your soulmate Lucy ha She finally throws him a lifeline and says we might have to PDA? Tim gets frustrated she strung him along and says never mind. Lucy stops him and says he’s right. If they’re going to kiss it shouldn’t be for the first time.

Then the awkwardness that is them pre-kiss ensues. They’re not sure what to do now…So Lucy suggests they stand up. No one does awkward better than these two. They’re so out of their depth right now. It's hysterical. I love a nervous Lucy Chen she is beyond adorable right here. The way Tim starts to lean in and she bails LOL Saying ‘No’ with a nervous giggle ejecting far away from him I’m rolling.

She totally chickens out at first and I don’t blame her. After last episode I'm sure her emotions are going haywire in this moment. Being shy because she already knows of the feelings there. That this was going to bring them out even more. Tim is about to find out himself what this kiss will reveal. Tim is exasperated and not understanding what’s going on here.

He's got a let's do this and get it over with attitude. The thing is Tim is nervous too. Look at him in that first gif. Takes a deep cleansing breath before trying to give her a kiss. He is just as nervous as she is. One thing to banter and flirt with your partner. It's another to kiss them. They’re both buzzing with nerves and it’s adorable af. Hats off to Eric and Melissa in this scene. I can feel all their anxiety and giddiness in this moment. They do an amazing job in this portion.

Tim get frustrated again and says ‘Oh, you know what? We’re professionals. Let’s just get this over with.’ Lucy’s reaction is the best part LOL Telling him 'Whoa! that’s romantic.' His childish reply of saying he wasn’t trying to be romantic LMAO OMG it’s a good thing you’re about to kiss. Because I wanna yell at them to kiss and get a room already.

Their banter is primo in this scene. Legendary really as is this entire scene. We talk about them being married a lot but never more so than before this kiss. Lucy telling him he’s succeeding and he replies with his pouty face. It’s all so hilarious to watch unfold. Lucy’s nervousness continues to shine through. Trying to reset herself as she psyches herself up to kiss him.

Tim never fails in making me laugh with his expressions and reactions. Telling her in an sarcastic tone to ‘Take her time...’ LOL Lucy trying to give herself a pep talk while Tim stands there exasperated af with her. He is so very done at this point. Just waiting her out at this point. Because he’s used to his wife antics. I love his annoyed deep sigh he let outs when she’s ready to rejoin him. The way he swings his arms in impatience lol

Tim finally leans in and gives her the most pitiful peck on the lips. He’s so proud of himself when he pulls back though. It’s pretty damn adorable if you ask me. He is expecting praise from his girl only to be demolished by her. Lucy was definitely expecting way more than what he just delivered. It's almost like she has to hold back a laugh at his lack luster attempt. Also that he thought he did a good job with it. Saying ‘I'm s...Sorry, is that it?' After all that build up just an innocent peck on the lips? Tim is so offended about her critique till she lays one on him. Effectively silencing him with a kiss. Also like to note how I love how this season started with an almost kiss and ends with an actual one. Lovely bookend.

I’ll never be over her cutting him off with her lips and grabbing him by the face. Pulling him forcefully towards her lips. *phew lord* Has his whole face in her hands while she has her way with him. I love how he stumbles into the kiss at first. If you watch him in the beginning of this gif you see him fall forward into the kiss. Wasn’t expecting that show of force from her. He needs a second to readjust his body into what’s now happening. Both of their frustrations with each other melting away once their lips touch. Takes them a moment to find their rhythm. Then it’s all about melding into one another. Fitting like the perfect puzzle pieces they low key always knew they were.

How Lucy’s right hand drops to his chest as she gets comfortable in this kiss. In his arms. Doing what comes naturally while in them. She keeps her left hand firmly on his face though. Keeping those beautiful lips of his directed at her. We watch Tim start to melt into Lucy as well. See how his body begins to relax against hers. His hand has made it's way up to her shoulder. Had this continued I have no doubt they would've swapped places from where they started. His hands continuing their journey upwards. Tim encasing her face in his hands as he continued to kiss her as if his life depended on it.

We see them start to get lost in their kiss. That argument of their's a moment ago is long forgotten. It’s such a sexy first kiss sweet lord. Tim has quickly adjusted from the beginning of the kiss. He's eased into it now and is ready to go for more. We saw him begin startled then quickly relax into her as the kiss goes on. Seems so natural like they've done this before. Reminds me of Chandler and Monica. When Joey/Rachel ask Chandler what he felt when he and Monica kissed after being friends for so long? Telling them felt like 'Why haven't we been doing this the entire time?' This kiss represents that line IMO.

Look at the way he is melting into her as he looks to deepens that kiss. He’s attached to her upper lip. We can see a little tongue too. Don't think I didn't see you slip that in Timothy heh. He is ready to take this further when their pseudo daughter walks in….I love it being Tim who deepened that kiss. Making that all important first move once again. Lucy wasn’t complaining one bit btw. Cracks me up how Tamara's first solution is to go. Let them have more time alone. I'm sure she's thought of them getting together before.

She doesn't seem terribly shocked by this so much as incredibly amused. How could she not with how they are? Then the awkward hilarity begins. I’ll never be over Lucy’s ‘Oh!’ As they fly apart from each other. Both trying to put a continent between them. It’s so damn funny. Went from hot and heavy to insanely embarrassed. The music stopping abruptly as well. Never fails to make me laugh my ass off. There is so much to love after the kiss as there is with it.

The way they scramble to explain why they were making out is priceless. Stumbling over their words and each other. Lucy trying to explain that this is 'Work' Uh huh. Sure let's call it that. Tim adding on they're going UC. Tamara is bemused to say the least. Telling them they don't have to explain themselves to her. Tim then starts looking desperately for items he didn’t bring LOL Then realizing he has nothing to gather up.

'You know what? No. I didn't bring anything...' LMFAO Flustered Tim Bradford is a joy to watch. Lucy already broke his brain earlier and then destroyed it with that kiss. You know he’s in love because that man doesn’t get flustered easily. He legit doesn’t know what to do with himself. Other than awkwardly retreat from Lucy. He is shook and it’s showing big time.

I love that he’s a complete disaster just from kissing Lucy. This entire scene is iconic and makes me so happy to watch. They awkwardly point at one another. For what reason I couldn't tell you. Other than they don't know what to do with themselves right now. The height of nervous awkwardness has arrived and I’m joyful Haha They’re both so embarrassed and flustered it’s glorious.

Lucy is flaming red after she tells Tim 'G...Good work tonight'. She is mortified she just said that to him after they made out. Tim replies in kind because he is also nervously awkward as he leaves. She can’t even look at him as he makes his hasty exit. Her back is turned to him as he departs and does another dorky finger point. Saying bye to Tamara as he does. Lucy's facial expressions are legit killing me. She then she turns around to face Tamara and it only gets worse.

Lucy has no idea what to say to being caught making out with Tim. Tamara's face in that second gif is hilarious. It's like she's giving Lucy a chance to explain herself further. Wanting to see what she'll come up with. She notices Lucy isn't in the right state of mind for answers. So Tamara saves her further embarrassment and says she’s headed to her room…Bless you. Your pseudo mother needed that LOL

We join Tim in the hallway post all of that mess haha. I once again must commend Eric and his wonderful expressions. He conveys so very much in this moment. It’s the range of emotions he expresses that is so impressive. He just nails it. This is the moment where Tim realizes his feelings for Lucy. Yes she short circuited his brain 100 percent here. But there is far more to this expression than that.

4x21 was Lucy’s epiphany episode. This is Tim’s 'Oh shit I’m in love with Lucy' moment. It’s like he finally has the answer to why he’s always felt the way he’s felt. Why he fought so hard for her not to wash out. Why he said and did things he didn’t totally understand for her. Explaining why he was so protective with her in UC. Why he was ALWAYS happier around her. Just like Lucy it’s hitting him like freight train. His feelings coming sharply into focus.

He goes from broken brain, to realization he’s in love with her, to oh shit I’m in love with my best friend...what am I going to do? The way his eye bug out a little as he comes to this conclusion is everything. That kiss cleared the skies in his brain. He can see clearly now and it scaring him a little. Everything was muddled before and now it’s clear as day. He looks back at her door before he is able to unroot himself from that spot. Tim Bradford is in love with Lucy Chen and it’s just hitting him ❤️

The awkward cuteness continues the next day. Tim is sitting in his truck with his thoughts. Probably having an existential crisis in the process tbh. I bet you he didn't sleep a wink last night either. Probably trapped in his thoughts the entire time. Also he is clearly just waiting for Lucy to appear. Which is pretty damn adorable.

He perks right up when she arrives. Makes me heart so happy actually. Giving me all the feels. He is so adorable waiting on the girl he loves so he can talk to her. They’re both so smitten at this point my heart is gonna implode. She spots him waiting in his truck. Then does her adorkable wave at him when he notices her looking at him. It's so cute I cannot. They’re both so nervous it’s beyond precious.

First off love them matching in colors. I feel this was intentional both being in light blue. Once they reach each other the air is rife with unresolved tension. They cut each other off both wanting to speak. Lucy tells him to go first. You can see Tim desperately wants to clear the air. Be vulnerable about the kiss. We see the hope on Lucy’s face as he struggles to find the words. That he is going to say that kiss unlocked something, that it was more than just a practice kiss etc.

That does seem where he is headed when he started this convo. Then our boy loses his nerve completely. Says they should work more on their backstory …You can see the sheer disappointment on Lucy’s face that he said that instead. Probably wishing she had gone first and not him. It’s ok Tim you’ll gain the courage in 5x08 don’t worry. My little awko tacos. How I love thee.

Phew lord that was daunting to write about and tackle haha The sheer volume of gifs out there for this one are immense. But damn I love their slow burn so very much and adore writing about it. Can’t believe we’re done with s4 what a trip.

The only parts worth mentioning are Nell/Elroy being adorable. And how hilarious it was Pete slept through the entire fight scene for Bailey LOL

If I could recommend one singular fic and say 'this fic encapsulates my style and summarises everything I am proud of when it comes to writing fanfiction' - this would be it.

I have so much to say about this fic and a lot of it I probably have already said it - but basically, this fic is the reason I started writing. I started writing long before I actually wrote this fic, but everything I have ever sought in terms of creative satisfaction came from this fic. This feels like my orgasmic climax in terms of creating things.

And if this fic is something I could be buried with, I would be proud. If this fic is something that people remember me for, I would be so fucking proud. (Which is not likely, because it's from a very small fandom and I know people are gonna remember me for fics from bigger fandoms that are way more popular, and I wish I could shove this fic in the faces of people who read my other popular fics and make them read it lmao.)

If for some reason I had to quit writing right now - I would be most proud of this singular piece. Especially because so much of this fic, the characters, and the dynamics has been inspired by my real life relationship with my lovers, and the reader character was inspired by my struggle with disability and coping with the loss of control as I became more disabled over time - but having my lovers there for me made that loss of control easier to swallow. It's about how trauma can ruin you and letting someone love you when you are broken is one of the hardest things you can do, but one of the most radical and most rewarding. If you ever liked my writing and my style, even if you don't like Titans - please go and read this.

This fic has had some more attention lately, since I have been wanting to write for The Walking Dead again, and I just really want to re-state - I fucking love this fic. This idea came to me so randomly and struck me like lighting and I am so happy that this fic came to fruition. This fic represents so many things that I am excited about writing - poly relationships, relating the themes of sex and death, sad endings (I weirdly prefer writing sad or melancholic endings instead of traditional happy ones).

I am really proud of this fic. If you can handle angst, you should go read it.

From Criminal Minds:

From Your Lips on Tumblr - Jennifer Jareau x GN!Reader. Established Relationship. Smut, Hurt and Comfort. Set during Season 2, Episode 15. 3k (Oneshot). After JJ is attacked by dogs on the Hankel farm, you take the time to check on her and distract her flustered mind with a loving touch.

So, most of my Criminal Minds fics have done really well and don't need to be recommended just because it's a really popular fandom, but JJ fics don't really do well? Idk why she's not a popular character?

But I love this fic. I had so much fun working on this fic, and working in the religious references and imagery from the show - this fic was just so much fun for me. And I think it needs more love.

IFHY (I Fucking Hate You) on AO3 - Abby Anderson x Fem!Reader. Enemies with Benefits. Smut and Angst. Set during the main events of Part II. 8k (Oneshot). You and Abby truly hate each other. So when you find Abby handcuffed inside an elevator, instead of being kind and just letting her out, you make her pay a certain price for the key.

I fucking hate you - but I love you.

I'm bad at keeping my emotions bubbled.

You're good at being perfect, we're good at being troubled.

There are so many fics from TLOU that I loved writing and that I'm really proud of, but this one really caught my eye on the list. I love writing about conflict, and I really love writing reader characters who are so bitchy and just cause conflict. (Maybe it's because I'm so nice irl and I never cause conflict, I get out all my internal chaos in writing characters who shit disturb and cause chaos all the time.)

I loved writing this because it's so non-traditional. It's not sappy, it's not romantic - again, it has a really melancholic ending. The characters are so toxic for each other (which is also something I love writing - because it's horrible for relationships irl, but for fiction it's so interesting to explore and observe).

I think this is one of my best, most interesting fics and I really loved doing it.

From Harry Potter:

King For A Day on Tumblr - Poly!Golden Trio x Fem!Reader. (Fem!Reader x Ron Weasley, Harry Potter, and Hermione Granger). FWB to Poly Lovers. Smut (with slight Angst). Set during Deathly Hallows. 22k (Oneshot). While Horcrux Hunting with your closest friends, the dangerous influence of Slytherin’s Locket causes Ron to snap. And it turns out - he brings on something that everyone in the tent really needed.

Imagine living like a King someday - a single night without a ghost in the walls.

I have spoken about this fic at length, and how this was a spirtual awaken for me - if No Place Like Home was a culmination of everything I am as an artist, then this fic is an echo of those things. Again, I fucking love writing about poly relationships - and I think this fic has one thing that was missing from No Place Like Home. And that is exploring each individual thread of a poly relationship and how someone interacts with each person in the relationship outside of the poly group functioning as a whole. That is definitely a strong suit of this fic.

Also it's amazing filthy nasty smut, which is something I love writing, and something I am really talented at.

From Stranger Things:

I'm Still Standing on AO3 - Nancy Wheeler x Fem Disabled/Chronically Ill Reader. Best Friends to Lovers. Angst, Smut, (slight Fluff). Hurt and Comfort. Happy Ending. Set during Season 4. 37k across 3 chapters. You start having horrible waking nightmares, but you don’t want to worry your best friend Nancy by telling her. She’s already occupied trying to chase down a trans-dimensional killer wizard, and you are convinced that the two problems aren’t possibly related.

There's a cold and lonely light that shines from you,

And you wind up like the wreck you hide, behind that mask you use.

This fic is so interesting.

I wrote this fic shortly after Season 4 came out - and even though I had a few fics for Stranger Things that were pretty popular, everyone just collectively ignored this one? And I know for a fact that it is because Nancy is the love interest. I know that if I had picked Steve or Eddie as the love interest for this fic, then this fic would be just as popular as my other ST fics - but because the subject matter is so deeply personal, I connected with the scenes of Nancy kicking ass at the hospital and worked from there.

(And tbh, if I had to choose a male love interest for this concept, I probably would have chosen Billy, because I relate to him on so many deep personal levels.)

Literally everything in this fic is very personal to me - this is all about my own raw traumas. From the abusive father to the extreme medical trauma to the strained caretaker mother, to the older sister who distances herself from it all - even though this is set in the universe of Stranger Things - this is the story of my life. And idk if I would have wanted it to be a more popular fic, because it is so personal? But I am upset that I worked so hard on it and so many parts of it are so raw, and nobody really saw it. I am upset that I had the bravery to post something so personal and it was just - crickets.

There are so many parts of this fic that I am so insanely proud of. The horror sequences are something that I worked so hard on - not just with the emotion of translating my own trauma, but I wanted to make something honestly scary and I wanted to pay tribute to the tension and emotion and visuals of all my favourite horror media - including Stranger Things and the beautifully tense horror aspects of Season 4. And this is another fic that I feel truly, absolutely represents me as a person to my core. And I feel like it's worth reading if you wanna know more about me and who I am.

From misc. horror fandoms:

No Brainer on AO3 - Derek Cho (Steven Yeun) x Fem!Reader x Melanie Cross (Samara Weaving). Co-Workers to Lovers. Smut. Based on the film Mayhem from 2017. 7k (Oneshot). When you are the last person alive with an elevator key that Derek and Melanie desperately need, you agree to make a trade. Turns out, when what you're asking for is a threesome - you don't drive too hard of a bargain.

This is one of my favourite fics of all time. This is proof that I do not write for popularity - this fic is written for a fandom on AO3 with a total of five fics FIVE (including mine) and 2 of them are about characters from other media experiencing the plot of this movie as an AU, and mine is the only fic that is x reader. So I didn't just fill a niche - I looked where there was no niche and I dug a hole.

But like - Steven Yeun. Yes, I fell in love with Glenn from TWD, but this is a movie where he is also covered in blood, and rather than being Glenn's meek, reserved self (which I love) - he is outraged and swearing and killing and it makes me foam at the mouth. And I am already in love with Samara Weaving from The Babysitter - so this is literally a killer combination.

My bisexual ass did not even finish the film before I was typing out this fic on my phone.

And I am so happy that I wrote it - because sometimes you just need a self indulgent, blood covered smut.

Author’s Note: this was inspired by the harleen comic which is fantastic if you haven’t read it already! I wanted to make both the Joker and Batman ambiguous to whoever you wanted to picture! I hope you all enjoy my impulsive joker fic lmao if you want a part 2 lemme knowwwww. okay back to requests lol

Summary: Bruce is always out doing god knows what. The night you get fed up and leave you get ambushed by the Joker in the streets of gotham

Bruce wasn’t home.

When was Bruce ever home, you wondered with dismay. Too often you came over to see him and it was just Alfred there. At this point, you saw him more than you saw Bruce. You should have known when you started a relationship with the infamous Bruce Wayne that you wouldn’t see him as much as you wanted to. You had tried so much to be understanding.

He just wasn’t there.

Ever.

“I think I’m gonna go home,” you muttered, running your hand through your hair. You hadn’t even bothered to get changed. Usually you waited until Bruce came back from business but you were slowly losing patience with him. Alfred could feel it in the way you stood up.

“Let me call you a car,” he offered.

“No, it’s alright. I’m really not that far away.” Alfred pursed his lips. He was still wearing his day clothes. You often wondered how much sleep he actually got. It was essentially superhuman.

“Master Bruce wouldn’t want you out walking this late.”

“Well then he should’ve come home,” you muttered. “Plus,” you said, scoffing. “The Bats out.” You pointed at the sky. The light was illuminating in the otherwise dark and gloomy night.

Alfred consistently had a hard time not telling you where Bruce actually was. But he knew it wasn’t his place to say. Bruce had to open up and tell you himself. But he could feel you slipping away every night, a little bit more as you reverted into yourself.

“Are you sure I can’t call you a car? For my sake.” You shook your head.

“I’m alright Alfred, really. Thank you.”

“Will I see you tomorrow night?”

“I don’t know,” you said honestly. You rubbed your eyes and grabbed your bag, shoving it in your pocket. You were so angry. Bruce claimed he loved you every time he saw you. He was loving and he was tender and then he was gone all over again. You were never sure when he was coming back. You would always be second to Wayne Enterprises.

It was cold outside. You felt the shiver on your skin. It felt like Gotham was never going to get warm in the summer but the second it did it would start to roast the trash in the alleyways and make the whole city smell. You walked quickly. You were starting to regret your anger denying Alfred. He had just been trying to help.

You glanced behind you in the darkness, trying to push Bruce out of your mind.

Still, you imagined him coming home to realize you weren’t there. How would he feel? Would he be angry? Unhappy? You imagined the distaste in his face in his stupid suit and clean pressed hair when he goes to bed alone. A part of you relished in it. He deserved to feel the way you consistently felt because of him.

How dare he. How dare he make you feel like this. You didn’t deserve it and he knew it. You deserve someone who would protect you and not let you go out at night like a crazy angry person like you were right now. You deserve someone who cared-

Bang!

You turned around quickly, almost falling over.

Bang! Bang!

Gunshots were ringing off the side of the building you were leaning against. You scrambled back, your heart racing in your ears as you tried to find the source of the noise.

Out of the natural Gotham smoke emerged the Joker himself. You recognized him instantly as though you had seen him in person before. You knew he wouldn’t hesitate with that gun he had in his hand. His laughter seemed to be echoing through the streets like he was bigger than he was. He could scale buildings with that laugh.

You slipped on your own shoe and fell over. Fear colored your face as you leaned against the wall, hoping he wouldn’t see you.

“He’s wasn’t very funny anyway!” the Joker exclaimed to a silhouette behind him. You breathed heavily but all you could hear was a funnel to his voice. Where was Batman when you needed him?

“Boss!”

You had been spotted but you couldn’t move. Someone was pointing a gun at you leisurely, gesturing at you. You put your hands flat against the wall behind you, trying to force yourself to get up. You needed to leave. You needed to run.

Joker walked up to you carefully, holding his gun to your forehead. You made no attempt to slip away. You felt the cool metal against your skin.

You stared up at him. He stared down at you.

His smile flickered into amusement. Like he wanted you to squirm and beg. You were silent, not even tears escaping your eyes. You just looked at him.

“It’s the cops!” one of his henchmen called. He dropped the gun to his side, leaving you completely unharmed. He looked at his men and then back down at you.

“Better scram sweetheart. Gothams full of dangerous people.” You pulled yourself up and nodded. He flashed you a smile and you were about to back away and finally run when there was a loud crash behind Joker. For some reason, the crash scared you more than he did.

Batman had arrived.

“Bats! I was starting to think you wouldn’t show up,” Joker said, an insane smile on his face. “We aren’t gonna do this in front of the lady are we? Bad manners!”

You couldn’t feel yourself breathing anymore. The looming figure of the Batman was staring at you. You slinked behind the Joker like he would protect you. You didn’t have time to rationalize your morals at that moment. All you knew is that the Joker had not shot you and it sure as hell looked like Batman was here to fight.

“You don’t get to play knight in shining armor Joker,” Batman said, voice gravelly.

“Oh I didn’t plan to be. I just got distracted! You’re all dark and brooding Bats, kinda hard to miss ya!” You stood evenly on both feet, trying to decide if you needed to run or not. You looked towards the looming alleyway for a moment and then back at the antagonists. Joker pointed a gun at Batman.

You slid away and booked it.

You had run for what felt like forever when you realized you had no idea where you were going. You had just been trying to get away. You could feel your chest heaving now as you leaned against a wall, closing your eyes. You felt far from safe but there’s no way anyone could try and rob you after that! The world was cruel but not cruel enough.

You looked desperately at the street signs. You were lost. Every street looked the same in the dark.

Your phone rang but it sounded far away. You struggled to get it out of your pocket, tears pricking your eyes. You had almost just died!

“Y/N?”

“Bruce,” you breathed. You wanted to cry but held it together. Your anger from earlier was all but gone. You just wanted to go home and take a very long and very deserved shower.

“Where are you?” he sounded remarkably serious which made your anger come back a bit. You had just gone through that and Bruce had the audacity to be mad at you for leaving? You knew it wasn't’ rational, there was no way he could’ve known, but still.

“I don’t know,” you said honestly.

What you didn’t know is that Bruce was jumping across buildings to find you. He had left Joker, actually left him, to make sure you were safe. The clown would surely live to fight another day. When Bruce saw you his heart sank into his stomach. You shouldn’t have been there. He should’ve been with you, back home.

“What street signs do you see?”

You peaked around the alley corner just to run right into someone. Your phone dropped and toppled, cracking. As if this day couldn’t get any worse. A white hand grabbed your arm and moved you in front of them so that you were both against the alleyway corner.

“My phone,” you whispered to yourself, pathetically. You looked at the man and met the familiar eyes of Joker.

“Fancy running into you again!” he said, smiling comically large.

“What happened to Batman?”

“Fled! I know, crazy huh.” He peaked around the corner. He had lost his gun back there. All he had now was some smoke bombs and a knife. He was too far away from the compound to head back there in the dark now. He had to shelter for the night. He pulled his knife. “You got a place sweets?”

The world really was that cruel.

“I don’t even know where we are!” you whisper screamed.

“I’ll get you a GPS.” You grabbed your cracked phone. Bruce had hung up in his attempts to find you. You wished he was still on the phone.

Joker had no actual plans. That made it all the funnier!

You stumbled around the streets. At some point he had dropped the knife completely and just followed you. You got home in remarkably good timing. Your place was one bedroom and a mess but a part of you was glad to be in a familiar place with an unfamiliar person.

“You got a pullout?” he asked, laughing through his teeth.

“Why should I help you? You’re the Joker! Don’t you have people for this?” He rolled his eyes, gesturing with his hand. He sat down on your couch.

“If you can find an untapped phone in Gotham, be my guest!” he put his feet up, his hands behind his head. He really believed you weren’t gonna hurt him. His eyes were shut like he was cozying in for bed.

“What, should I offer you water or something?” you asked, your voice mixing with amazement, fear and anger.

“If you got one! I could use something sparkling. Long run after all!” He peeked one eye open and that smile returned.

“I could call the police on you.”

“Are you gonna? If I remember, I didn’t kill ya. I’d say you owed me one.” You didn’t even have a response to that.

“If I take a shower are you gonna kill me?” you deadpanned. Both his eyes opened up.

“No. Be my guest. I could use one myself.”

“You broke my phone.”

“Save me some hot water sweetheart.”

“Y/N.” He smiled brightly.

“Jay.”

And you left the room. Your phone was broken. You hadn’t signed up for any kind of home phone. Who even uses home phones anymore? Maybe Bruce would be by to apologize. Maybe he wouldn’t.

You stripped off your clothes and you took a shower.

When you got out Joker was on the kitchen counter, drinking a glass of water.

“That was a long shower.”

“It’s all yours,” you muttered.

“How will I know you won’t call the cops?” he asked, raising an eyebrow.

You laughed in his face. He gave you a confused, slightly infuriated look.

“With what?”

“Point taken!” He slid off the counter, slamming the glass of water down. He walked up to you as you were ringing out the water in your hair onto the ground. He had to squeeze into the small hall that led to the bathroom. He made no attempt not to touch you. His chest brushed yours fully, his lanky hand on your elbow as he moved you aside. You stared at each other, directly into your eyes.

It felt kind of…electric.

He went in the bathroom. You had left him a towel.

“You have a good laugh!” he called through the muffled wall. You smiled a bit to yourself and looked down at your broken phone. You tossed it aside onto the counter. Bruce could worry a little more.

warning for a clearly anxiety-ridden oversharing freakout below the cut. sorry. i’m too sensitive and i’m unfortunately acutely aware of it.

tldr; im being a drama queen. gonna take a tumblr break for a week or two. to my mutuals, feel free to dm for my insta. i’ll be active until i wake up tomorrow morning and then i’m gonna zip

gonna preface this by saying this is in no way directed to the people whom i actually talk to constantly on here like you lot were lovely and im just dealing with a lot of demons in my head :(

anyway. sometimes i feel more like a product manufacturer than a person on here. and idk. i know most of you guys are really just following me for gifs and content and whatever but. yeah. idk. i guess the things i say don’t matter to anyone unless it’s funny. or if people want to call me out. not that im mad abt that exactly btw i do appreciate when people respectfully call me out for my own mistakes but. sometimes. i feel like im in a fishbowl and you’re all just waiting for me to say something wrong and cancel me. or then again, maybe most of you already think im a shit person and you just stay for the gifs. or maybe you guys think i’m a loser who has nothing to do but spend all day on this goddamn website.

and i know, somewhere inside me, that that’s not true and that it’s clearly the anxiety talking. maybe it’s just me maybe i’m making this up in my head i dunno. but i’m just kinda tired right now. too tired to battle the anxiety like usual at least. and i don’t really feel wanted outside of the content i produce, beyond the notes of my gifs or my fun posts. which ik shouldn’t matter but. i’m a pathological people pleaser etc etc.

(god, seeing this all typed out, i can’t even fucking blame you guys if you actly don’t like me cause. i kinda wanna shake myself by the shoulders and tell myself get a grip girl the world doesn’t revolve around you shut up shut up shut your damn mouth—)

i’ve been trying to manage by unfollowing and blocking a few people (which btw, if i did that to you and we used to be mutuals, it’s probably nothing personal i mostly just kept people i’m a bit closer to). but i’m still not really settled. and considering how i’m posting like every other day about feeling like shit, you guys probably figured that out lmao.

and well. on a separate note. seeing that rat’s name alone is too much for me sometimes. i couldn’t watch his game with carlos. i spent hours in his match with daniil turned away from the television, wearing noise canceling headphones while trying (and failing) to talk myself down from a full blown anxiety attack. i’ve said this before but the way people talk about him, both the fucked up silence and the justified outrage, it reminds me way too much about a family problem i have right now. hits uncomfortably close to home. prior to this i kinda thought i’d made my peace with the whole family situation but no apparently not. had he won the semis, i wasn’t even sure if i would be able to stomach cheering for jannik if it meant having to watch that man play.

so. idk. between the way actual tennis has been making me feel and the way tennisblr in general has seemed for me lately, i figure i need some space.

long story short ive been spending way too much time on tumblr this ao. and its gotten really bad for my mental health i guess. so i think i need to take maybe a week or two, to clear my head. watch tennis without opening this app every other point. spend time with people i love. get back to therapy. try to be a functioning adult.

(this is so fucking dramatic for a goddamn week of no tumblr i know that and i want to smack myself upside the head because why am i like this why do i make things snowball why why why—)

i meant to upload this at the latest by december 31st, but the thing is when i saw the tag i was a little overwhelmed at first bc i didn't know how to fill it out and then once i had it all written out i had a super hard time deciding on what to gif and then it all ended up taking soooo much longer than planned. and now it's already 2024. oops. well, better late then never...

i have been asked this before but i sure as heck can't find that particular ask despite having looked for a while lol

so essentially, i recently started using a new method to determine the exact vibes i get from a name. i've been establishing my own thoughts about the name before i ask a friend or two about the vibes they get, to see if that gels with anything i thought or opens me to new vibes that make sense with what i already had.

i'm gonna use a name i've never made a board for as an example.

the name ingrid. that IMMEDIATELY gives me dark purple and red, and some monochrome. i can't explain why, names just automatically give me an aura for lack of a better word. then, my brain immediately jumps to ingrid michaelson and her song "the way i am" (very sweet and beautiful song, highly recommend if you haven't heard) which makes me think of like. balloons and streamers and clowns, etc. maybe some lipstick. i heard that song very early in life and i really loved the chords and i'd also never heard the name ingrid, so that really instilled those vibes early on lol next, i get the minor themes which can be included or left out for consistency's sake, those being stripes, color coordinated office supplies, and calligraphy primarily. it sounds mish mashy when i say all these themes and ideas together but trust me, i can usually make the vibe work. (i may make this board for myself now, i've always loved the name ingrid lmao)

a friend may say something completely different, and i usually only really consult someone else if i am struggling with themes or if i genuinely just wanna hear what they have to say, but sometimes the ideas i get from a friend give the board a whole new vibe which is totally welcome.

when it comes to finding the videos to gif, i generally search instagram, youtube, and tiktok primarily. for ingrid, i would search very broad terms like clowns, balloons, stripes / striped pattern, calligraphy, stationery, lipstick, monochrome / monochrome photography, etc and save some of the videos i found that match the vibes i'm going for! it's rare i really struggle to find videos that fit a vibe i'm searching for, but it has happened and in that case, i can find a good video that fits all the boxes but not color wise, and then color change it in ezgif.

so yeah! i hope this is somewhat coherent, my brain's all mush lately. if you have any more questions about my processes when making name boards, feel free to ask!!!

"Oh, my dear (Y/N), please stay. You have been working for me for almost a month now, and we have not once spent an evening together. I know nothing about you." Margaret requested, her smile turning into a pout. "Please? A glass of wine."

You swallowed. Ever since meeting Margaret, your stomach has made flips every time she smiled, or looked at you. She was like a safe haven without even trying.

So you kept your safe distance. You knew what would happen if you didn’t. You would stumble over your words, blush on every occasion, and most importantly, you would give yourself and your feelings away. You did not need or want that.

And yet, you were thinking about it. Margaret was right. She knew nothing about you, and you were her … assistant — they had never put a name to your position, so it felt the most fitting — so maybe it was necessary; maybe it needed to be done.

"Alright. One glass. And no more than half filled." You agreed with hesitancy.

Margaret's lips widened in a grand smile, her teeth showing as she did. "Oh, how wonderful!" she exclaimed and ushered you back into the living room.

You flinched slightly at the noise but walked inside, a small smile on her lips. Margaret's excitement was always quite sweet.

You suddenly realized it was already late. You have been at Margaret’s for almost 4 hours now. Far longer than you had planned on staying. It was definitely more than one glass of wine.

And yet, you couldn’t care less right now.

Margaret was retelling a story about how she had to completely remake the living room because of a broken table when you finished your glass.

"And then I told them, there is no way I would get a new table that didn’t match. So we either change the entire layout and furniture or— oh! Your glass is empty. Let me get another bottle. Actually, what do you want? Wine? Gin?"

Your mind stopped for a moment as you realised. Margaret was giving you an option. You wanted something completely different. You wanted her. All of her. It was terrifying.

"W—Wine is good." It was all you managed, but it was enough to cause Margaret to leap up with a grin.

You watched her walk over to the alcohol cabinet, your eyes glued to her behind.

"My eyes are up here, darling." Her voice caused you to snap out of your thoughts, and your cheeks flushed a dark red.

You hummed. "Sorry. Got lost. Thinking about the party..." The lie came easy.

Margaret’s eyes narrowed. "Mhh, sure." She sat back down, the open bottle in hand. "You know, I often think. Is there someone you’re interested in?"

"I am interested in my work!" you immediately shot up. "All my attention goes to my work."

"I know, (Y/N). I mean—" the older woman scooted closer, causing your eyes to widen. "Is there someone, a man or maybe a woman, you are interested in. Sexually."

Oh.

"Well. I— There’s— mh."

The blonde reached out, brushing a strand behind your ear. "Yes, darling?"

What were you supposed to say, or do? The truth? No. That would be ridiculous. The right thing but absolutely ridiculous. And yet.

You took the wine bottle and took a big sip. A shiver ran down your back at the bitterness. Your eyes locked with Margaret’s as you sat the bottle down.

She looked almost amused at you.

"There is … someone." you began slowly. Your eyes were fixed on Margaret’s brown ones. "Someone I like."

The phrasing was silly, something teenagers used when they were expressing their love. But that's what you felt like. A teenager in love.

"Really?" Margaret rasped. "And who's the lucky one?"

The distance between you and Margaret was closing in. You. It's you.

You didn't have the guts to say it. So, with all the fervour you could muster, you kissed her. Your hands flew up to her cheeks; an attempt to keep her ever so close.

The surprise was clear. She stiffened, and immediately you regretted it. What were you thinking? Kissing your boss while drunk. You would lose your job. This was your only source of income right now!

But then you felt it. Her hands on your waist pulled you closer. Her fingers curled in your blouse, tugging you onto her lap. Your legs spread and settled, pressing against hers.

The first kiss was clumsy. You didn’t know where to touch, what was appropriate, but Margaret quickly took the lead. The two of you separated for a moment, and you inhaled sharply.

"You are not off the hook that easily, darling." She rasped, and you swallowed audibly. It caused her to grin. You went in for another kiss but Margaret held up her finger, stopping you. "No, No. First you have to tell me."

You could barely stop the whine from escaping. "Margaret, please. Must I really? You know. I know that you know." Your fingers curled around the lapels of her blouse. "Please."

The blonde hummed but simply shook her head. "I haven’t the faintest idea what you are talking about." she argued, her grin barely contained.

This was torture. Sure, you had no idea what actual torture felt like, but this was it for you. The woman you had feelings for knew about them but wanted you — practically forced you — to voice them to her or else she wouldn’t progress with whatever this was.

You inhaled deeply before saying: "I like you." Your voice was quiet.

"Really? I like you too." she teased, and you narrowed your eyes at her words, which caused her to chuckle.

"I like like you. You are the one I have my eyes on."

"That is better." she mumbled as she leaned forward to kiss you. Your heart leapt in its place, threatening to stop from the excitement.

You tucked her closer by the lapels and placed a hand on her neck to keep her that close.

It truly was like a dream. Everything was just right.

Neither of you noticed when you started rocking your hips, far too engrossed in the motion of kissing. That was, until you pulled away to let out a moan. The noise caused you to hide your face on her shoulder.

"Oh god—" the words died in your throat. You were getting yourself off … on her thigh. Oh god, that was embarrassing.

But apparently, Margaret thought differently. One of her hands slid down to your hip to encourage the motion.

"That’s right, darling. You are doing very well. There is nothing to be embarrassed about." She whispered, her lips close to your ear.

Her words caused you to gasp. You looked up with flushed cheeks when it hit her.

"You have never done this before, have you?"

You stopped your rocking ( rather hesitantly if you were being honest ) and immediately shot back: "Of course, I have had sex before. I am not a virgin!"

Margaret cupped your cheeks to stop you from going anywhere. "I did not refer to that. I meant this. Making out, as the kids would say. Or even just foreplay."

You inhaled sharply. "No. Sex was always a means to an end. It’s not something I usually enjoy."

Dark brown eyes widened in something akin to shock. "Now, we definitely have to change that." Her lips curled into another of her absolutely breathtaking smiles, and if you had been standing, your knees would have wobbled.

You couldn’t even respond before she kissed you again, her hands coming down to your hips to encourage the back and forth movement of your hips. You gasped into the kiss, which the blonde took advantage of, and she slid her tongue into your mouth.

The rough material of your pants rubbed against your center—specifically, your clit — and you couldn’t stop the groan that fell between kisses.

not to sound like an ungrateful ass because i'm really grateful somebody took the event over rather than it getting abandoned completely but oh boy, i really wish there was more consideration put into thinking about us poor lil gif makers lmao. i saw the prompt list & my heart sank because wow, what the flip am i supposed to do with some of these prompts? i was up late last night trying to come up with a plan & yh, it's going to be difficult that's for sure! anyway best of luck to you my love! x

Nonny I am really glad you sent this message because I am feeling the EXACT same way.

I am so grateful to the new mods that whumptober is continuing and I recognize how massive this event is, how much time goes into planning and running something on this scale. I have a massive amount of appreciation for themcause I certainly couldnt handle it. And I love them for doing it. I do.

But it feels like they only thought of this event as a writing event and that irks me. This prompt list is so hard for gifmakers. It's great for writing and I'm glad a lot of writers are feeling inspired but as gifmaker my heart sunk further and further with each days prompt I read. How on earth am I supposed to come with enough scenes for a compilation gifset for these prompts? Hell, I can't even come up with a single scene for a lot of these. Even the alternates are a challenge so I can't even use those to help me.

I don't know. I'm not giving up though!! I'm gonna figure something out for each day even if it's only vaguely related to the prompt! Still, it's a little discouraging reading these prompts. Feels like sometimes people forget that the whump community is fandom community and not just a writing community. There is so much more to this community than writing and I wish that was acknowledged more sometimes. Not to diss writers! I'm a writer! I love whump writers! Y'all are amazing! But being a gifmaker it can make me sad sometimes that people think of the community as strictly a writing community when it's more than that.

Ugh sorry for being a downer. I'm struggling here. I don't want to repeat scenes I've giffed before but it's not looking good. I know I'm gonna have to repeat scenes cause I just don't have any other examples. I was really hoping for specific tropes instead of vague ideas this year.

But its gonna be okay, yeah? Us gifmakers can do this! We got this! And we can help each other. I already know of a few days I'm going to ask for help with so if I can help anyone with a prompt please ask! We can do this!

With all respect and love, I absolutely love your fake dating au. If I had to choose an update between that and the kissing fic (or anything else really) I would always choose the fake dating au. There is so much potential! Please tell me you plan on updating and finishing it? If you’re not, can you at least share with us the fic plans so we can have some closure about it? Would you consider letting another author adopt the gif to finish it if you won’t? It really is a Piarles must-read. I hope I can learn the ending!

... you know, i debated for a long time if i would even bother answering this ask, or just delete it right off the bat. because in my opinion, this is an incredibly rude, insensitive and entitled thing to send to any writer. it was ONLY A FEW DAYS AGO that i talked publicly about how important it is to remember that writers are humans, too, not machines, and to please treat us like humans. and yet here i am again.

i'm going to answer this one more time, and i'm going to answer it in detail, and then in future if i get any asks in this vein, they WILL be deleted without any interaction. you guys are making me consider turning off anon asks entirely, which i really don't want to do, because the other half of my anons are SO very lovely!! but i also have had enough of waking up to rudeness and blatant entitlement in my inbox.

so. why exactly is it that i think this ask is so entitled and insensitive? didn't the anon say "with all respect and love" and compliment my fic at the start of it?

yes. yes, they did. but the thing is, saying "with all respect and love" doesn't mean you can then proceed to be rude to me and it's all fine. that's like me saying "with all due love and respect, i have decided to delete the fic entirely." the fact that i prefaced it with "love and respect" does not make what i did later alright. (although in this case, it WOULD be alright regardless of whether i prefaced it with "love and respect" or not, since it's MY fic and i can do what i want with it.) this anon, on the other hand - this anon has no right to demand anything of me. i am a fanfic author and i do this for free. it is not my job. i have no obligation to do any of this. which means that nobody out there, really, has any right to demand performance from me. (lmao can you tell i have been deep in the law textbooks lately) but the point stands! i don't owe you anything at all.

yes, you can ask me nicely, and i can choose to reply if i want. (hell, if you ask me nicely, i'd probably LOVE to write things for you!!) but you don't get to DEMAND updates from me. and "tell me you plan on updating and finishing // can you at least share with us the fic plans so we can have some closure" is not asking nicely. that's demanding. YES, anon gave me a compliment and they said "with all respect and love." but they're STILL demanding performance from me, and that's not okay. the anon is making it sound like i owe you "closure" (even though this is a work of fiction, not a break-up you're going through, and i think the word "closure" is a VERY dramatic one to use.)
