Springmaker 2023

Time for KM! I haven't finished the last year's challenge (or even half done), but I have so many quick km illustrations that I love. Finally got a reason to draw my baroness - a half-elf druid Essa. When I made an oc for the game I honestly didn't know that (female) protagonist will be called baroness. Well... Pros: when someone on capital's square shouts 'Baroness-a!!' I can hear her name. That's a cool emersion, xD.

Funny story. When we made this challenge, we thought about our main platform, and it's vk. That is, a russian-speaking platform. And before choosing name, no one thought to check if tag used by someone else on other social media... OF COURSE there is people who make springs and find it important to share! With all respect to spring makers's craft. Lol. Here's a prompt list. (I was taking part in designing it of which I really proud) Sorry this happened to the tag, if someone wants to parcicipate now it's best to use anouther one, #pfspringmaker for instance/// P.S. Although it didn't wind up finished until over a week after the date, happy belated Sunwrought Festival! This is something of a more joyful follow up to my 2022 art- something I'd wanted to do last year but didn't have the capacity for due to life circumstances. I hope everyone enjoyed their solstice!

Compiling all my thoughts on that Tristian quest, trying my hardest not to project my own emotions on Vio that would conflict with his established personality lmao

Putting under a Read More for Kingmaker spoilers

First thing I get hit with is that Aurien and Tristian end up serving very similar storylines for Vio. Tristian was forced to serve Nyrissa and betray Vio, while Aurien's "betrayal" was caused by Mab hiding them from the gods. Neither betrayal was by their own will, though Vio doesn't know that about Aurien yet. Vio reacts so badly to all these betrayals because he cares so much about the people who betrayed him and he can't shake off the love he still has for them, which only fuels the anger more! So similarly to how, through a lot of explanations and time, Vio will eventually be able to make amends with Aurien, he is able to forgive Tristian. Their goddess preaches redemption and forgiveness, and Tristian is genuinely regretful of everything that he did, and it's just enough to get through that anger. Especially since Vio thinks that Tristian was blinded as punishment from Sarenrae. Honestly, it’s almost less of “I forgive you” and more of “you’ve been sufficiently punished enough”. It’ll take some time before Vio and Tristian are able to get back how they used to be. But for both situations, it only redirects that anger towards the fey.

Vio learns Tristian is, was, a deva and that realization comes with a wave of shame. One of Sarenrae's own servants saw all his weakest sides! How will he ever emotionally recover!!!

The funniest thing at the end of all these thoughts is that since Lander was just a friend and advisor and wasn't something *more* like Tristian and Aurien were, Vio is going to be holding that betrayal against him for the rest of their lives. That one's just Vio's temper on full display. Sorry kid, you fucked up.
