AHHHHH THANK YOU SO MUCH!! omg, so I loved writing in that au way more than I expected and I've definitely debated turning it into this longform, slowburn piece. but, at the same time, I already have two multichaps I'm working on as is (with college!au sevi and bodyguard!au lee), so I feel like for now at least, I'll probably just write more drabbles on it. AND SAME LMAO like when I found out she was in her forties, I was stunned but like... she can take care of me or whateverrrr 😌

oooh, I understand that -- maybe you should check out nearby towns or cities to see if there are anything there? :o I live in the suburbs, and same, there is nothing gay ever happening here, so I always take the train down to a bigger city so I can attend events. oooh, for me, I'm definitely gonna try to head to the city for dyke march and a pride march (literally already planning out my signs way in advance LOL). as for other stuff, I'm hoping to just go to some queer events. my friend's band is doing a few small performances so I'm hoping to go to those!

  The commentary surrounding the use of cannabis has never been higher, largely due to the recent legal reviews in the US. Colorado and Washington have become the first US states to legalise the drug, following in the footsteps of Uruguay and the Netherlands. Here in Australia, cannabis is illegal, but has been decriminalised in SA and NT. Whilst there is a strong support for the use of medical marijuana there are studies that connect regular cannabis use to ‘adverse outcomes of human brain structure’. (Lorenzetti, 2013)

So what are some medical benefits of cannabis? The Cancer Council of NSW states that cannabis can be used effectively to reduce symptoms of nausea in patients undergoing chemotherapy for cancer. They also agree that it can be used as a painkiller for sufferers, and as an appetite stimulant for those patients suffering weight loss. Although the Council disagrees with the smoking of cannabis due to the ill effects of THC and the carcinogenic smoke, they are in support of research surrounding synthetic cannabis.* Cannabis is also recognised as helping with muscle spasms, chronic pain and even pain due to glaucoma.

However a review of many research studies conducted by Degenhardt,, Halland Lynskey (2003) found that there was a link between heavy cannabis use and depression. They did note that a causal link was not found however, and determined that if a link was found then cannabis use would “make, at most, a modest contribution to the population prevalence of depression”.

There are many pros and cons to the cannabis debate, but will Australia be the next country to consider lifting the ban on cannabis prohibition?

INDEEEED SHE IS AN ICON. so, I think the show does do a good job at showing the complexity of her character. rather than being this one-dimensional antagonist to one of the main protagonists of the show, it's made clear that she has this unbreakable sense of loyalty to her cause. and I think she's just such an interesting character in which she's simultaneously ruthless when needed be, but also infinitely careful and measured. she honestly reminds me a lot of lee due to how levelled and calculated she is.

season two didn't have enough of her imo, but the first half of it at least has many scenes of her. I think if you're like me, and already have a budding interest in her by the time you start the show, you'll feel satisfied with the scenes of her awaiting hehe.

hi! how are you? i kinda had a tough day today and would love to chat! so idk can i get some advice on how you deal with academic hardships or failures and stuff? feel like I'm gonna fail in something really important at uni and been looking for better perspectives on it :/

I'm doing okay, thank you! ocd and social anxiety sorta spiked, which def wasn't a great feeling, but I'm slowly getting through it.

thank you so much for trusting me with this :(( I definitely understand this feeling. I did really great during my last two years of high school, and since starting uni, my average grade has been Bs and Cs, and I've failed one class too. I think for me, what helps is recognizing that the education system is inherently unfair. profs are assholes who don't give extensions when you need it, due dates are piled up unrealistically during midterms and finals, and some unis act as though academia is the number one priority in life. and really, it isn't.

school and university are important if you want it to be, yes, but they aren't your entire life, and I've started recognizing that whatever prevented me from getting an A in something, whatever caused me to fail, was also an important part of my life that also deserved my time at the time. whether it be a nap I took instead of studying, a talk with a friend, a breakdown, or even just a day I spent rotting instead of being productive -- I felt the urge to do those things for a reason, and my body and/or brain needed them. of course, I have my own issues with discipline to work on in terms of studying and accomplishing due dates, but when my body needs to prioritize something else instead studying or being productive, I try to respect that. and I think you should too. we live in a super hyper-productivity culture that sometimes frames education as the number one priority and if we're sacrificing it for anything else, we're wrong. but, I think there's a lot more to life than just academia or studying or succeeding at those things, and when you need to dip into other aspects of your life, don't feel guilty for it.

I think it also helps to know not everything carries the finality we initially feel. failing at something can hurt so bad, and I'm so sorry you're going through it :( but, I promise, there will be other opportunities and ways to achieve your goals and make up for this one thing. let yourself mourn it, you deserve to feel those things out, but also know that hope isn't gone and you absolutely still have ample time to get what you want. and I'm rooting for you, one hundred percent.

some relatives. I have an ex-friend who I separated from last march, and I think I can confidently say that I absolutely hate her. she was incredibly manipulative, guilt-tripping, and twisted. plus, she hurt other people close to me, so that's just hatred on sight 😃

I just loved your answer and thought it was really sweet what you said about being attracted to lee because she is in some ways very different than you. for me it was kind of the opposite, I identified with her so much and with how you write her... it's hard not to see myself more as her than as reader!

anyways... do you think lee has a type? I feel she gravitates towards girls that are a bit more fem, smart, very opinionated and almost feisty? also brunettes. which, as a blonde, sucks for me :/

omg don't apologize at all love!! literally, I loveeee talking about lee sm, she's such a compelling character. AWE, you're so sweet! no, because I do love myself a nonchalant lesbian, I cannot lie 😔 and omg, I love that so much :") I find it beautiful when people can feel so closely to a character and really see themselves represented. and I'm so happy you can see yourself reflected in my writing too, that feels so personal and touching to me.

oooh, so I agree with you -- I think it'd be nice for her to have someone who contrasts her a bit, and coaxes her out of her shell. of course this is one hundred percent not always the case, but I think a lot of people who are naturally reserved and quiet do mesh well with those who are more social and outgoing. like, how lee is with carter LOLLL they're very opposite in terms of how they socialize and conduct themselves, but make for a great duo. I totally agree that strong opinions and intelligence are important to her -- after all, she's clearly someone who prizes learning herself (both in her field as an agent, and even the casual comment she gave to carter about dolls being used for magic in some cultures), as well as having a strong sense of justice. like, I think she'd truly be so enraptured by and find it so attractive hearing someone info dump and being able to have an intellectually stimulating talk with them. and I think she'd strongly dislike apathy, and people who just don't care enough to question the world we live in.

as for the hair colour thing, omg nooo, blonde x brunette always hits so good in ships hehe 😌 and in terms of her character, I don't see her as being so particular about that kind of stuff :o I think with how rare it is for her to feel truly at ease and comfortable with someone, that kind of connection would triumph anything physical and make her open to anyone.

hi! :) I've been needing someone to yap about lee and my hater friends really didn't like longlegs (which is crazy to me)! but anyway I'm so curious to hear what made you drawn to lee... I feel she is such a unique character, so effortlessly charming and vulnerable but in this calm and composed way... cut to her screaming alone while driving lol love her

OMGGGG please, you are always so welcome to come to me with rambles about her, requests, or any hcs you have of her that you'd like to explore together. I totally understand the feeling, my friends also didn't enjoy the movie, but luckily, one of them also found lee hot, and so I force my rambles onto her (and all my other friends, tbh).

ooOooOOoooh, I love this question, hehe. I totally agree with you -- someone who commented on my ao3 fic once said that lee reminded her of the old detectives from black-and-white films, whereby she's so stoic and serious but secretly has a tenderness she shares with certain people (including a partner). she's definitely unique, too -- I feel like I've rarely seen media where a character who's a woman is shown to be awkward, but not in a "cutesy-oh-she's-so-quirky-and-a-guy-just-has-to-come-and-take-her-glasses-off-and-she'll-be-way-coolar" kinda way. like, yeah, lee is awkward and evidently struggles socially, but the film doesn't portray it as something to fix, which I love. that's just how she is.

at first watch, I just loved how stoic and reserved she is. as someone who is very much not like that, who wears her heart on her sleeve, I've always found myself attracted to and curious about characters and people irl who are more reserved. I think it's so beautiful to watch them open up and reveal themselves more, and watch them get more comfortable. the more I rewatched the film, the more enthralled I got by different aspects of her personality. I loved how emotional and sensitive she was beyond the exterior reservations -- like, we see her cry when talking to kobble, cry when talking to her mom, frown when she enters a crime scene. we only see her smile when talking to her mom and ruby. there's so much care and sensitivity there, but she just doesn't naturally show it. I also grew to love her sense of justice -- we can see her get genuinely upset and disgusted talking to kobble due to all the things he's done, and the fact that she's so dedicated to her cases is in and of itself a sign of how important it is for her to solve things and get closure and justice.

I also just loveeee how much of a nerd she is <33 like, that scene where she tells carter the EXACT number of miles it takes to get to two separate locations -- swoon. I also like that she clearly has a sarcastic/witty streak to her. like, the scene where she tells her mom, "I don't think the bureau has a division for 'nice things'," or when she corrects browning on the "revelation" thing with a little sass, like okay, girl has jokes 😌

ANYWAYS OMG I'm so sorry I ended up going on such a long rant 😭 but, I'd love to hear more of your lee thoughts, hehe! I love her yapping

WAHHH this is so sweet :"") truly, that means so much to me. when I started writing for her, I was constantly struggling with self-doubt and over-analyzing regarding if I was writing her correctly or accurately. now, it comes a bit more intuitively to me, but I very much still have days where I'm like, "... is this something she'd say or do?" so, hearing you call it "real" makes me so happy, hehe.

I don't have a problem with the character being played for laughs or being a little eccentric, but he was more than that. He had bird crap in his face and crickets in his mouth and he went cross-eyed at least twice and... yeah, the actor played him like Radagast had indeed been eating way too many shrooms :P Imo the crazy old hermit act could have been toned down just a little.
