Asmodeus being overly expectant that MC is going to propose to him any day now for no reason.

It’s a quiet evening and the two are lazing around on the bed in Asmodeus’s room. New skin mask pouches have been opened and applied. New issues of each of the Devildom’s most popular fashion magazines lay scattered around.

MC rolls over until they bump into Asmodeus’ thigh and raise their magazine. “Hey, Asmo. What do you think of--” ”Yes.” There is no hesitation. “Yes, I think we should.”

Asmodeus throws down the magazine he was looking at to lean over and pepper MC’s face with kisses. “Let’s get engaged, right now!”

“Oh, okay, cool. I was just wondering what you thought of this top.”

“Oh... It’s kind of tacky. You’re not wearing that to our wedding, right?”

It’s dinnertime and, as usual, everyone is gathered around the large dining room table. MC is across the table and several seats down from Asmodeus, with most of his brothers seated between them.

MC’s plate is almost empty. They give the table a once-over look before deciding on a course of action that requires interrupting the current conversation.

“Pardon me, Asmo, will you-”

Asmodeus squeals and kicks his feet. “Yes! A thousand times, yes! Of course I’ll marry you!”

“Wait, no that’s not what--”

“What!?” Mammon shouts, much to the chagrin of Lucifer next to him.

“In your dreams, maybe,” Belphegor quips.

Leviathan looks like he’s about to start crying.

Satan and Beelzebub, sane enough to not jump to conclusions, seem to piece together the situation. Together they work to pass MC a plate of dinner rolls that had been in front of Asmodeus.

“This what you wanted?” Satan asks.

“Yes, I was just asking for these,” MC sighs. Bread will serve nicely to sop up the remaining sauce on their plate. “Thanks.”

Asmodeus responds, “we can serve them at the reception, I think that’s fine.”

Mammon tells him to “get yer head out of the clouds, Asmo, nobody’s marrying you.”

Their mutual glares practically send sparks across the table.

“Pass them back this way,” Beelzebub requests, wanting three more for himself.

----

It’s the middle of the school day. MC pops their head into a classroom. This time they've mentally prepared.

“Asmo, do you wanna-”

"Yes? Yes! I’ll marry you.” As predicted, Asmodeus runs over and winds his arms around MC’s waist. He presses his forehead against theirs and leans them back into a dip. Several students clap. “Proposing to me at school? How brazen.”

“Well, maybe this time I’ll actually think about it, but you have to take me out for lunch first. Deal?”

Asmodeus looks somewhat stunned. He parts his lips and thinks over the proposition while staring into MC’s eyes, searching for any hint of a lie.

“Wait… Really?” He pulls MC back up and takes them by the wrist. “What are you waiting for? Let’s go!”

Just putting it out there that Beel has a flat effect going on, and at times he will attempt to be sarcastic but it totally backfires and he doesn't feel like correcting them. It's not that he's intentionally manipulating you half the time, he just assumes you can understand the difference between his usual flat tone and the sarcastic flat tone (but they're fucking identical).

"Beel, did you do *X sketchy action* to the demon who was bugging me?"

"No. I don't even know how it would occur to someone to do that to another person. We should all try our best to not cause problems for others. I never would have expected something so cruel to happen to someone we know. That's terrible. I hope you're okay."

"Ah true... You're the most innocent of your brothers. You're so wholesome :)"

Beel staring completely deadpan.

He's still a demon, he's infamous for eating people alive (demons, humans, doesn't matter), but people still let their guard down around him... Granted, if they're not someone he wants around later like you or one of Diavolos important socialites, he fucking eats them. He actually finds it kinda funny how he's like an anthropomorphic venus fly trap. People know he's capable of eating them, but they still let their guard down if he's still enough, and acts like he's too chill to cause harm.

It works in his favour so he doesn't really care, plus it makes you trust him more and more even though most people will tell you not to.

Soul Animal Obey Me AU

MC arrives in the Devildom but it's without their animal, the animal that represents their soulmate. Diavolo quickly makes it right, but the animal in question is a bit shocking.

Lucifer

when you race to the trailer with your soul animal, he's beyond shocked to see the beautiful black mustang that comes out. its eyes are red and one look tells Lucifer that it's a piece of himself.

he knows that must mean the sweet and hard headed horse he's had for the last -goodness he's lost track of the years-. but it doesn't matter, that's you, your soul animal as much as its his.

Lucifer takes it upon himself to escort you and your steed to the stables. he doesn't even get all of the way there before your horse snorts and calls out, the returning sound one he knows well. you're both left still as he gets out of your grip and somehow his beautiful ride had escaped it's stall.

you both end up having to corral them into a pasture together since they refuse to move apart.

"would you like to talk? say, at a cafe, parhaps? i know a good one nearby." yeah . . . that sounds like a good idea, you apparently have a lot to discuss.

Mammon

the dog that tackles you and you hug tight right back feels oddly familiar. he's not sure what's going on until you tell them that it's a golden retriever even though its coat is pure white. and oddly enough, it's not because it's an albino, its eyes are deep blue in color.

mammon's breath catches and he finds himself locking eyes with the dog, who quickly gets excited and tries to drag you into the house, barking.

he's running off to his room, hoping he's not wrong, to find his own dog barking and whining on the other side of the door. the minute he opens it, it takes off and he's running to find you stand there shell shocked as the two fall together, yipping and rubbing on each other.

good luck separating them. ever. the only difference between Mammon and doggo mammon is that the dog doesn't have any reservations or tsundere tendencies (most of the time)

Leviathan

Levi really couldn't care less about this human, much less a human normie. but he needs you to get a pact with Mammon so he can have his money back.

but he's still beyond shocked when he finds you late to your night meet up in the kitchen! he needed you, but checking his phone, you never even saw his texts! stupid human normie, making him go find you- are in the fucking pool?

who goes to the pool this late- oh, didn't lucifer say your soul animal was a sea animal? yeah, something about not having a proper tank yet in your room so the pool had been temporarily renovated for it. you're probably visiting it. he gets that, his animal is . . . a . . .

Levi's brain blue screens as he sees you in a swimsuit playing with an octopus, grinning wide as it clings to you.

once he reboots he flails and turns bright red, surprising you, but he found himself grabbing you, octopus still on your arm, to drag you to his room where he lets you see the small octopus in his tank playing with Henry. both end up in his tank and he's just too shocked to say much.

at least until you admit to the clue Lucifer gave you about Mammon's credit card, then its back on the mission!

. . . The embarrassing stuff can come later.

Satan

a cat? your soul animal is a cat? wonderful! he's overjoyed and makes sure hes there when you're called down to come get it.

he was not expecting the sheer size of it, thats no house cat, its a wild cat.

not only that, but the hissing and angry blond thing that shot out at you, curled up against you and hissed at the very large carrier, green eyes furious. well it shocked him.

you're trying to calm it and he watches, unmoving as your pets and soft words quickly calm its rage- no, its pure wrath.

the bobcat calms under your touch and he finally regains his composure when it growls at Lucifer when he came close. one glance at its eyes as he approaches tells Satan all he needs to know.

he doesn't bother offering it his hand, only smirks at you and asks if you think your bobcat would like to meet his, leaving you spluttering at the meaning behind the words.

once the pair of cats meet, a bit after you'd recovered from the shock, they get along swimmingly and the blonde soul cat of him lays as yours starts grooming him, listening to a recording of an audiobook Satan played.

after they're settled down in their room, he decides its only appropriate to take you out to a cat cafe to talk.

Asmodeus

the little thing in the carrier Lucifer has in whining so sadly, Asmo feels sad hearing it. you rush over and quickly take it, opening the cage and taking out the upset little fox inside.

Asmo's shocked but is the fastest to recover after seeing what was clearly a piece of himself in a different form. he simply watches at first though.

he watches you comfort it from it's traumatic journey to you from the human realm and your'e calling Lucifer a meanie for being so uncaring about its comfort.

hes very happy you treat this adorable fox so well, and a few questiosn about him tells Asmo all he needs to know. he invites you to his room later to get some new ribbon to dress your fox up in and you accept the offer.

you have no idea that his own fox is in his room until the foxes are chittering and playing together and he's standing at your back, purring in your ear an apology and an 'oh, did i not mention that?'

he won't do anything you're not comfortable with but you don't leave his room for a while as you, at the very least, talk about your pets and how you've spent years pampering them.

Beelzebub

he's glad you've gotten your soul animal, he'd be super upset if he ever had to be without his. it's a super sweet dog but its been sad since belphie left, so it tends to stick around their room and you don't go in their room.

you think its nice his soul animal cares about his twin as much as it cares about him, and you're glad Beel's decided to wait with you for it to come.

Beel's eating when you gasp and nearly chokes on his food when he spots the large dog coming around the corner.

he watches as you hug and pet the happy big absolutely giant dog and Diavolo, who'd been holding its leash, asks what it is.

you say its a belgian malenois, and he's coughing again. you look worried but he's blushing as he gives you a little grin and admits that he can sense and smell you your soul animal is actually a piece of him and that his dog looks a lot like you.

you don't quite believe him until he accidentally destorys a wall in your room and you end up in his, at which pint your dogs are best friends and the dog version of him is sharing its food with the dog version of you.

Beel's overjoyed when you start to get closer as a result. he finds that he doesn't mind sharing his food with you too after getting to know you.

he's beyond horrified when his dog is whining and obviously hurting before going limp, just barely not dead. hes far more shocked and angry when he finds Belphie in the house and dragging your almost-corpse behind him, grinning all the while.

Belphegor

Belphie's cat is the only one who knew where Lucifer had trapped him.

Lucifer had tried three times to kick the cat out and change the barriers to stop it, either trapping it in with Belphie or keeping it our entirely, but every time it managed to get past them. so instead Lucifer let it be.

belphie was glad, beel would help him, his other brothers probably would, but that was if any of them knew he was there. only his cat knew he was there.

he was glad though, his cat was the one who was always there for him.

he was beyond shocked though to wake up one day, bored, to hear purring, and he was even mroe shocked to find a cat with purple purple, the tips of its long fur tinged in white, laying with his cat and purring at it.

there was no dman way! its couldn't be! he was going to kick the cat out, refusing to beleive it, but his cat stopped him. Belphie was shocked, his cat had never hissed at him or been angry with him before! but now it was, it was angry and protecting this- this other cat.

after that, no matter how much it hurt him or how upset it made him cat, he ignored the cat.

eventually though, the new human found their way to him, and he decided to use that to his advantage. he didn't care, but you clearly cared about helping him, so he convinced you to help him.

he honestly never believed you'd be able to do it, but in the end he woke up and found you there, the door open, and he opened his arms. you went in for a hug, just like he knew you would.

he's whispering in your ear as you struggle to breath when a soft thump and painfully weak meow drags his attention to the cat that had fallen off his bed. his cat. the cat . . . that looked like you, as much as the other cat looked like . . . him.

human- humans killed lilith, he hated them and he wanted you dead . . . but that was his cat unable to breathe and he was watching it die. he was killing it himself- Belphie let go and scrambled back from you in a panic.

the reality of everything he'd been denying finally set in, and tears fell from his cheeks as he watched and didn't even turn when he heard steps and wings ruffling as they rushed up the stairs. he hears Lucifer in the doorway behind him but didn't move. couldn't move.

"I killed my soulmate." he breathed before breaking down and sobbing, clawing at his carpet. Lilith would hate him for this, he just knew it.

and then you melt away into dust and he can't breathe, but a meow and cat in the form of himself grabs his attention and he follows it as it leads him out, Lucifer at his back, until it leads him to a room with Barbatos, you, and his cat.

he'll never hurt you again, he'll never let anything hurt you again, just please don't hate him.

the fact that you forgave him and loved him despite what he did to you is something he'll never take for granted.
