I’ve been watching arrested development and after being incredibly confused by season 4, I did some googling. I concluded that shows with casual viewing need to be more upfront to their audiences.

I saw a bunch of people saying that Tobias is gay and Gob is straight and I fear they missed the point. But honestly, fair enough. I feel like that’s the conclusion that most people would be led to unless you’re an overly analytical queer person like yours truly.

What’s a realistic amount of queer ppl in a piece of media.

A common point that’s bought up w my friends is that heartstopper has a lot of representation but it’s just not realistic because EVERYONE is gay. Tao and Elle are the token straights but even then Elle is trans so she’s still LGBTQ.

I’ve been writing something and I realised I’ve got a lot of gay characters in it. I want representation but I still want realism, so in your opinion, what’s a decent amount of queer characters in a piece of media?

I realise it obviously depends on proportion and while there aren’t many queer ppl in the uk proportionally, queer ppl do tend to befriend other queer ppl and it’s a whole thing and I just badly need y’all’s opinions

In my head Fergus Williams has always and will always be Irish, my reason being that one, Fergus is an Irish name and two, I read it in a fic and liked it.
