I finally have enough drawers to separate everything into proper categories, and it feels like achieving a new state of enlightenment reserved exclusively for the neurodivergent.

#lol this was taken in january of 2023 so over two years old now#around the time i took this photo a friend actually asked me to count and i came up with just under 800 fiction books at that point#i've thinned out some of these but replaced them with others... and then some#i also have about three of these same bookcases full of books at my parents' house whoops#there's also two shorter bookcases that are out of view of the photo#but those are for my textbooks/nonfiction/professional resources etc so they aren't as exciting#but also the book collection has outgrown the shelving availability again#(don't even worry about the piles of books on my nightstand and in the living room)#i need to get an updated pic since it's my favorite room in my house#this doesn't even show my full current collection of tlt special editions/art/merch#unfortunately the office is a bit of a disaster zone right now#it's sort of become a box/storage room and holding area for stuff i'm decluttering/reselling#so a lot of the shelves are stacked rather haphazardly two rows deep#i think i might be able to just barely fit one more bookcase along that one wall so that'll help whenever i get around to it#(they're just the cheapest particle board bookcases that target/walmart/wherever carries)#but at least i have this very satisfying photo to remember the golden days by#(and in case you were wondering - they're shelved alphabetically by author's last name and then chronologically by series per author)#ask#maliceious

I don't have crafting updates but I do have my new desk/workbench more than half assembled and also I got sidetracked and ordered some stickers to put on it That did not help in the assembling of the desk but is vital to my process lol

having a full-blown ugly crying breakdown can truly be something so healing
#just had one whilst on the phone with my mom#which. i think i can count on one hand the times i have cried in front of my mom as an adult#i was calling her about something else entirely and suddenly she asked me if i was sad#and bam! full on crying snot everywhere can barely get a word out#i am just. so fucking tired. and i'm tired of being slightly taken advantage of by my siblings#i'm the one who has done most of the work with dad's apartment#packing up everything and making sure there are lists of what still needs to be done#i'm the one who sleeps in my own bed once a week and spend the other nights on a couch#i'm the one who make appointments with the landlord and i'm the one who'll show the apartment to new renters tomorrow#i'm the one who calls the moving/cleaning service to meet up and go through which boxes goes where#and then i have my siblings tell me they're so grateful that i'm unemployed because they wouldn't have been able to do this otherwise#i'm NOT unemployed i'm turning down shifts because they refuse to take time off because “it's so much at work rn”#love them to death but fuck me if i'm not one second away from snapping#AND on top of that that anon i got last night#made me feel like i'm the worst person possible and an even more awful friend#if i wasn't so fucking exhausted already i'd jump in front of a train#anyways. gonna cry a bit more about it bless.#i'm also the one who is going to have all his furniture and boxes in my apartment because they don't want to have it in theirs#they have storage rooms! i have a tiny apartment with barely any storage at all. fuck me.

#speculation nation#i got a few other things. mostly stuff for storage and whatever#also got a new slim display case. which im sure i will also love. but im not as excited about that as i am this COFFEE TABLE!!!!#look at it!!!! it's so beautiful!!!!!#that dark wood!!!! the glass top!!!!! the drawers underneath!!! and theres a shelf on the other side from the drawers#it already goes so well with the dark trim of the apartment... im excited for it omfg#hfkshfks i decided to just go ahead and bring this and the display case to my new apartment directly#the coffee table came in two boxes. each about 50 lbs. and the display case box was also about 50 lbs.#i carried them all in by myself. and hooooooo. that sure was a workout.#like if it's a compact 50 pounds that's not so bad. but when it's an awkward 50 pounds like these...#especially with the big square box. that one SUCKED to carry in.#the display case is in a long rectangle box. which actually wasnt the worst bc it was pretty easy to grip#i just had to be careful to not hit things with the ends of it.#the 2nd coffee table box wasnt as bad as the first. but it was still pretty miserable.#banged the shit outta my poor knee. oh well#i didnt wanna just leave them in my car yknow? and i didnt wanna bring them into my current apartment#bc it wouldnt have had anywhere to go Anyways. best to just take them here & not have to move them again later#plus!!! more room for building them!!!! i dont rly have much in the way of floor space at my current apartment :p#bwah. i still need to head back home. take a quick shower. grab some dinner.#i did also manage to finish writing my chapter. while eating at IKEA lmao#so if im still feeling energized after i settle in. mayhaps... i will try to do those edits... hoohoohoo

sigh . I have a multi year deep depression room and i should reallyyy do something about it . but. i have a really tiny room and no place to put stuff .

I was just thinking what a cool job this might be.. what if you were just the person who makes little still images of cute animal figurines doing various activities to post on social media...? like.. show up to work and just spend the whole day like "hmm... this table should be placed to the left a little.. let me set this miniature bagel down in this way... this tiny rabbit should be wearing a scarf", setting the backgrounds, the lighting, etc. ... dream job perhaps lol...
#I'm sure it probably doesnt pay much lol#but.. maybe in some ideal world..#with my health and mental conditions and level of functioning there are VERY few Jobs I could actually EVER manage aside from#just being self employed and being able to set my own hours somehow etc... But every once in a while I come across something like this#and it's like... hrmm.... Yes... perhaps if I could align myself in this hyper specific scenario under hyper specific conditions in a#precise and predictable way and everything worked out perfectly and I had all the accomodations I might need.. maybe I could#do THAT thing then .. lol#Not just generally a 'social media manager' or something. I think that would drive me into the throes of madness#but SPECIFICALLY 'person who makes the images for the calico critters social media' and also#the place i have to go to do that is either my home or within walking distance of my home and also i rarely have to interact#with others aside from the posts probably going through some approval process and initial ideas where they tell me what#type of scene to make and also i somehow make $90.000 a year doing this for only 4 days a week with frequent sick breaks#dreamy sigh and so on and so forth and such and so on#ANYWAY........#the idea of meticulously placing little pastries and miniature crayons and stuff around all day until the scene is perfectly crafted.. SO#SO so appealing to me... like designing environments in the sims except it's real and tangible.. And also imagine having access#to the FULL library of miniature items. to me that would be just as good as owning them#Like.. I get to use them and make little scenes with them and hold them and stare at them and everything except also#they're all kept at work so I don't have boxes of clutter filling home.#unlimited access to every little miniature food ever crafted yet none of the downsides (purchase cost and storage)#etc. etc. ANYWAY ...#Chuckling confidently as I add this onto the 'List Of ''Real'' Jobs I Could Do' which is just a notebook sheet of paper with only like 5#other similarly unlikely hyperspecific scenarios scribbled down
