The second week, he reported that he’d tried a variety of sedatives, poisons, and anesthesias and found that none of them were successful, as he’d suspected.  He did, however, develop a type of dart that delivered a shot of silver colloid into the bloodstream, which was as close as he’d gotten to a poison and which caused seizures when administered.  

The third week, he reported he’d developed a device that can replicate the effects of sunlight, which could be effective in a situation where silver bullets weren’t available.  Nick pointedly did not show any pictures that time.  Lex later found out that was because the pictures were so incredibly graphic that even Nick knew they wouldn’t be well received; the charred flesh was so melted and burned away that bone was visible at certain points.

It went on and on like this.  The experiments started to get gradually less justifiable.

I’ve found out vampires hold up better under extreme cold than extreme heat.  It was seven minutes till loss of consciousness in flames, but three hours in an ice bath.  This could be useful for choosing where to stage fights, and for incorporating fire into hunting.

I’ve found out a vampire can hold its breath for 14 minutes before its body begins to shut down.  This could be useful if we were somehow able to trap one underwater long enough as an alternative method of subduing them.

I’ve found out a vampire can have 40% of its brain removed and still remain conscious.  Non-silvered weapons to the head can potentially be effective if it removes more than this.

I’ve found out that starving a vampire slows its healing capacity by 2% for every day it's gone without feeding, at least for open wounds.  I’m still testing if this is true for broken bones.

According to my calculations a vampire’s strength is lost at a rate of about 1.5% for every day gone without feeding, judging by ability to lift objects with the pectoral muscles.  Walking speed and balance are lost at 3% per day without feeding.

I’ve discovered that a silver bullet in the lung will immobilize as much as three elsewhere in the torso, and that bullet wounds can close up without removing the bullet.

After a week where he showed a picture that included what was clearly flayed skin, as well as whip marks, and was interrogated about when and why the marks had been left, Nick eventually stopped bringing pictures.

Ari was stoic about it, but Lex knew her well enough to know how her discomfort manifested: she ruthlessly criticized every new development Nick brought to the table.

And how’s that supposed to help us?

But still. She walked past the basement quickly these days.  Everyone did.  They tried to ignore the sounds and go about their business.  They still had vampires to hunt.  People to save..  Most of them weren’t there that often, or for that long, and the discomfort hearing it was only temporary.

Except for Lex.  The guilt settled in her stomach permanently.

I was sad but fine till the last line of “traitor, traitor”, Em how could youuu 😭😭😭. And with Rhaenyra too, double homicide for poor Babey’s feelings. But anyways, imagine Babey when she finds out she doesn’t really say anything to them or anyone outright but her feelings are there and of course Athfiezar is very in tune with her and he can feel it. So now Daemon is on the shit list of this very large, homicidal dragon who has had years of combat experience against his other dragons and let’s remember that Athfiezar never liked him that much in the first place. So then Athfiezar is just there, hunting Daemon down whenever he flies on Caraxes and just snapping at them or something and generally making life miserable for him. Like what if Daemon was in his solar and suddenly the room gets very dark. Is it a sudden storm? No it’s just our lovely dragon bestie Athfiezar blocking the light. Daemon looks up and there’s just a dragon eye glaring at him through the window. And he can’t even do anything because what’s he going to do? Make Caraxes fight Athfiezar? No, they’re on the same side. If Babey was feeling mad/betrayed at Rhaenyra too then maybe Athfiezar would also be bullying Syrax? Syrax to Athfiezar is like a spoiled lap dog to a huge alley dog who was victorious in underground fight rings before escaping lol. A thought that helped me not feel sad is that even though there is an AU where Daemon cheats there can also be an AU where we could just push Daemon down the stairs 😇. Although if that AU of terms of endearment was continued would Babey be up for being in a poly with Daemon and Rhaenyra? Wouldn’t she feel too hurt/insecure that they’re only including her out of pity? And another sad thought, say she walks in on them while she’s pregnant and the shock causes her baby to go bye-bye. Imagine the glorious angst, the guilt and how she’ll never forgive them 😭

Now back to happier thoughts, I know some people say that having sex is dangerous for the baby after a certain time or before a certain time? How would Daemon deal with that if the midwife from Essos forbade him from having smexy times with his darling for a while and her belly is too round to comfortably ||suck his d*ck on her knees and she’s not in the mood to give him her hand|| I imagine he’d be sad but he’d probably be the type to come up with a whole new position just cause he’s THAT desperate

I think he’s an Aries sun because he’s fiery, he likes to start shit/takes initiative (🩸&🧀)😇, temperamental sometimes, will never filter himself and I think he wants to be able to be true to his feral, attention seeking self while still being accepted for that. As for Scorpio rising, I do not know if it’s because Matt Smith who plays him is a Scorpio or the character is just like that but he’s very magnetic. Able to make people both respect and fear him, kinda polarizing,alluring. Moon sign, no idea, he’s traumatized and emotionally constipated so I know it’s a difficult placement because the moon sign is supposedly representing, your inner thought, how you process your emotions and stuff. I hope this is not offensive to Aries suns if there’s any who see this. They have way more positive traits, I just don’t think Daemon is a great person with those traits yet (love him anyway though). Also, all zodiac signs have good and bad traits and if your zodiac in a certain planet is “evolved” that means you’ve learned to manage/overcome/are aware of the negative parts of yourself and I very much doubt he has a lot of evolved planets. But to be fair he’s had a busy life being a sad feral meow-meow so oh well. Also, I have not read the books so this is just based on the show and I am not an expert in astrology or anything, I just think it’s fun. Lol, the Cannibal being petty as fuck toward Daemon and Rhaenyra will never not be a funny thought! I honestly don't know how I'd ever continue that AU; I imagine I'll get to it eventually but the thought just bums me out at the moment, haha. Babey cooould end up in a poly with Rhae/Daemon, but I'm not sure it'd ever work for her - there's so much insecurity there that I doubt she could ever let go of, and like, he was HER man, why she gotta share him with her older sis? Oof. I'll be doin' that WORK on the preggo fic to cleanse me of the dirtiness that was this AU.

Leading up to the birth I think is when they're gonna have to put a pause on the whole seksytime; I imagine Daemon would be a-ok with licking his 'lil Babey to some nice sleepy orgasms then basically whacking off onto her belly while she peers up at him all drowsy and smiling, cuz he's a sick fuck haha. A few months with his own hand ain't gonna kill him - plus, Babey might very well just go "hey, feel free to use my hand while I'm sleeping, lol". I do believe I have a similar sort of smut planned for this next chapter, actually (the whole getting himself off next to her while she sleeps thing, not the using her hand thing). That'll make more sense in the chapter, I hope.

And thank you for that zodiac analysis! I will have to do some research on it as I've gotta admit, the 'sun' and 'rising' and 'moon' signs all kinda threw me a little. I thought there was only one, but I'm clearly missing out! And Daemon IS a feral meow-meow, no point sugar-coating that, haha!

Rating Arcade Spirits Love Interests (some spoilers)

Wat up, I dated every LI in the first game and now I'm chucking this into the void to have it somewhere, because this is a niche fandom

S Tier: Gavin - was my last "route" and I definitely feel like I saved the best for last, in terms of look and characterizations he is a cut above, and plot-wise the scene where you get to defend IRIS to him is invaluable. I'm making him my canon route for that alone, but I also think his chapter 7 scenes are among the strongest of the LIs. I'm putting him in this tier even despite him not really being my type! I really like that he's 0 to 100 in relationships and he's calculating but not cold. It's cute. He's cute.

A Tier: Ashley - is very much my type on the other hand! Which makes sense because their personality traits are the same basic combination my character wound up being when I tried being myself. They even suggest going to an escape room, though this is only if you friendzone them, so that's a pity! As for them as a romantic partner, I appreciated that on the scale of innocent clean fun vs steamy makeouts, they were closer to the middle than quite a few of the other characters who swung way further to either side of the pendulum. Their exploration of gender via cosplay was really interesting and compelling. In fact, I was so there for it that I wound up docking "points" because I didn't really feel like they followed through in the end. Maybe they wanted Ash to be relatable to the highest number of people, and I respect we need to take them as they are. But their breakdown was the absolute worst emotionally, so I thought the payoff could have been better. I suppose there's no need to rush, but still….

Percy - certainly commands attention even if you didn't do his route, doesn't he…!? Though I did, of course, and his story makes me rate him very high because, well, it's just more intriguing, and his situation is already so rough that it makes the parts of the game where the characters are going through a rocky patch flow a lot better compared to many of the others where the scene felt kind of forced. In my opinion, he beats out Ashley in plot but loses to them somewhat when it comes to charm…. Mostly because he's a bit one note, though he has a strong story it gets to a point where that's the only thing he talks about. But he's very sweet and doesn't entirely lose in terms of charm. I think it's especially cute that he seemingly gave Ari his jacket in the beach scene artwork. And he has a complex personality and worldview that I like.

B Tier: Queen Bee - haha get it, BEE TIER… (quirky +1) Ahem. Honestly I probably just didn't see her at her best because she was one of the two I was going after in my first run (Naomi being the other one). Because I didn't really vibe with the character creator as representing myself (it really takes me out of customization when glasses aren't an available option!) I was roleplaying as my super-sweet and nerdy OC, so the MC's personality didn't fit her AT ALL. It was very funny to have her gloat about what enemy-annihilating bad-asses we were for our gentle heart to heart approach in the final chapter though. All that aside, I thought her events were cool and meaningful, her romance scenes were spicy and the negotiation of boundaries by both MC and LI was intriguing. Basically, she's a completely solid LI that I have no complaints about. It just didn't really hit me over the head like the others I rated higher than it.

C Tier: Naomi - Ahh, my first LI of the game. She's a cute character for sure, and I still think her confession scene was one of the best. They sure were trying something with her tension against Gavin too, I guess? But I'm sympathetic to him so I really couldn't get behind her most of the time, haha. She was only my first route because I was roleplaying. The penguin statue was the dumbest couple argument in the game and felt super forced, but it probably didn't help that she was my first route so it came out of nowhere. I respect what they did with her date as it suited her character, but it could have been more exciting. Even so, I think most people who play this will pick her as their first route since she's a classic gamer and a sweetheart. Though I'm aware there are some people with the perspective that the only asian character in the game shouldn't have been a glasses nerd that gives you bento boxes. That may be true, but at least for me, I thought her nerdiness seemed more like a relatable level of neurodivergence than anything stereotypical.

Teo - He was one of the characters I didn't bond with in my first run, and he didn't really grab me when I went after him either. Like he's really nice, and his issue is canonically that he's too nice, and that's… about it! I think he's a solid route like QB, and admittedly the romance in his route blew me away with how good it was compared to most of the others. He's good eye candy and a good date. I just wish there was more interesting stuff going on with him, he didn't feel like he had a lot of plot relevance. The plot relevance he did have was… being friends with a Lesbian Cop? What is this, a Disney movie? He also had some of the more awkward voice acting out of the cast, imo. ETA: I'm actually a big fan of dancing games, and I'm mad that you don't get to play one with him even once. There is a regular dancing scene but it's not the same!

D Tier:

Juniper - I'm so sad putting her down here because she honestly has my favorite design of all the characters, what a pretty and cute plus size girl, we love to see it. I did have a good laugh when her confession was the exact mirror of mine. But there's almost no difference between her as a lover and the friendship route, and while I can appreciate that possibly being because they are trying to put friendship and romance on an equal level, it does make it feel redundant to get both of those endings. And it definitely felt like there was less content for Juniper as a result. Honestly the romance is so tertiary to the main plot that it doesn't feel earned in a lot of these, but it's the worst when you've decided to romance Junie. I like her better on the friendship route. And… uh, personal taste, but maybe Polybius got my hopes up too much when it called her a yandere…. It wouldn't have fit the tone of this game at all, but I'd have been happy if she was haha!

he feels like he’s living up to his namesake these days. a shadow. nothing more than a dark spot floating through life, not quite fully sentient though just short of lifeless. geon thought he was lost when he was wandering in the wilderness for nearly two years. that’s nothing compared to this type of lost. he knows how to navigate meia by now, how to tell which path goes to what part of the complex, but... there’s no direction. no aim. sometimes his head feels like it’s spinning so much that he doesn’t even know what way is up, where’s down, or his left from his right. his entire world is gone, as far as he’s concerned. blown up, destroyed, and he’s not even allowed to go to it to mourn the loss of the only family he had ever known.

ari, he hasn’t tried to send his thoughts so far since he thought he was dying. he doesn’t know if his old friend heard him then, let alone if he can hear him now. if he’s even still alive. are you still out there? if i go looking, will i find you?

as always, there’s no response. there never is, no matter how much he practiced with a person. just silence. his own voice. and, well, haneul’s too sometimes. but she’s quiet right now. he hopes she can’t hear him, his misery. he hopes that she can’t feel the black hole that’s eating away at his chest. when geon looks in the mirror, past the greasy, unwashed hair and sunken, tired face, he’s scared at what will look back at him. sometimes he thinks that the red in his eyes has taken over the white, that the black marks on his upper body have spread further. he runs his tongue across his teeth and swears that they’re sharper than they used to be. he’s so afraid he’s losing his humanity. his dreams are full of blood and flesh, of destruction, and sometimes when he wakes up he can’t remember himself for a few terrifying seconds.

but if there’s anyone who looks worse than geon, it’s juwon.

if geon is living up to ‘shadow’, then juwon is also living up to ‘phantom’. he too walks through the halls like a ghost, pale and lifeless. there’s no light here, no spark of life. the parts of geon that aren’t already shattered crack and break a little more when he sees him, one of his first friends when he came to meia, drifting through life like a dead man. he still has it in him to pity him. geon keeps a wide berth, at first, not knowing if juwon would appreciate the company of a demon so soon after what happened to the other agent. but... geon can’t help it. he’s always been a little too soft, maybe even more so now that he can hardly focus on anything other than his own fear and misery.

juwon’s sitting down, so geon sits next to him. he doesn’t move away, so geon takes that as acceptance that he can be here, that juwon doesn’t hate all of demonkind after what he was witness to. words don’t come to geon’s lips. they haven’t since he first heard of what happened to grand heights, his tongue feeling too heavy to lift. but it’s alright, he can still communicate important things. he leans down, trying to catch juwon’s eye; he can’t send him anything without that. geon takes advantage of the briefest glance.

The Megxit Drama pt. 2

Since I already went through Meghan Markle’s chart in light of the Megxit Drama, I’m going to get into Prince Harry’s as well, considering that they’re both very much part of this demonstrative break with tradition and authority. However, for Harry, it’s not only a break with a work environment and in laws, it’s a break with his family, his up-bringing and his roots in an attempt to rid himself from outdated and harmful beliefs and thought-systems imbedded in fabric of the institution.  

As stated in my previous post, Harry and Meghan has been far from applauded in their break with the Royal Family, especially after the Oprah interview in March where they made public accusations of being treated unfairly in various ways. Meghan felt attacked by the media, left out in the cold and denied protection, deprived of support when she felt suicidal and even encountering racism. Aside from Harry’s motivation to help his wife, he admittedly also felt like Meghan’s situation gave him the opportunity to cut ties for good with a way of life that apparently had affected him more negatively and positively throughout his childhood and into his adulthood.

It’s certainly bold for Prince Harry to make complaints seeing as the public tends to not appreciate when wealthy and privileged people come out whining and wimping about their “difficult life”. However, the world is not as straight forward as rich equals happy and poor equals sad. Starvation and difficulty can be encountered on many levels of existence and just because one is born a prince doesn’t mean that one is incapable of experiencing legitimate lack. Life doesn’t spare any of us, which is why there should be compassion for all people – there’s no group or individual that is exclusively entitled to have their suffering be acknowledged. In a sense, Harry being able to look at his own struggles and prioritize his own and his wife’s well-being is a good thing. The message and spirit behind their action is good, at least if they’re honest and genuine (which people still doubt). Regardless, when the status quo is disrupted, there will be friction and unpleasantries.

Although Harry’s chart reflects a predominantly earthy influence, which is speaking to the need for structure, permanence and routine, his planets in Sagittarius and Scorpio, gives him a free spirit and emotional endurance. Ever since Harry was little he was notably more impulsive and risk-taking than his brother William. Harry’s Mars (which marks his physical energy and drive) is suitably placed in the restless fire sign of Sagittarius, conjunct Uranus, which gives him a non-conformist and individualistic streak – especially in the context of friends and groups. Apparently, he was a wild teenager, drinking a lot, letting lose in “inappropriate ways”, being aggressively competitive on the polo court and so on. He seems to be quite the mellow type at first glance, his Capricorn Ascendant gives him an outward persona of seriousness and his Scorpio MC gives him a public image of being a bit “in the background” not wanting to attract too much attention or reveal too much. As I mentioned in the previous post, Harry acted passive in the interview, coming off as a troubled man not knowing what he’d gotten himself into – which is quite characteristic of the Scorpio MC and Saturn conjunct. Astrology is a very useful tool when analyzing a person, because sometimes, the public image is only a tiny speck of what really goes on. Harry’s chart shows that he comes off as more cold and guarded than he actually is, and quite understandably so considering growing up with the media on constant watch for slip-ups. Opposite the MC, in the 4th house he has his Taurus Moon, pointing out that his sensitivity and vulnerability only comes out in private with his own family in his own home. It’s a deeply loyal placement that is resistant to change and it might not have been that easy to uproot for him, if he hadn’t had his own family with Meghan to provide some safety and emotional containment.

It has become evident that Harry seems to be a troubled soul that is haunted by past traumas and experiences. His Sun (which marks his individuality, his will and sense of significance) is in the 8thhouse, suggesting that his identity is based on other people’s values. There would be a feeling of having one’s identity and significance being in the hands of other people – of having one’s individuality being owned and controlled. When being part of the Royal Family, one is subjected to rules and values imposed from the outside. Significance is granted based on the opinions and approval of others – it’s given if one succeeds in appealing to their psychology. The 8th house is the house of death, regeneration and traumatic events. The Sun usually signifies the father image and it’s obvious that Harry is very disappointed of his father. He pities him for being trapped, undoubtedly resents him for being a “bad” husband to his late mother and not caring enough to make a change to alleviate his children’s suffering (typical 8th house themes). Even though his father was present during his childhood and inevitably involved, at least physically, he probably wasn’t able to be there as an effective role model and supporter of Harry in the way he needed emotionally. The Sun in Virgo squares Mars and Neptune in Sagittarius, which describes Charles’s disapproval of his son’s recklessness and marked individualism.

Harry’s Sun in the 8th house also points to someone who derives a sense of self from his troubles and tribulations in life. Since the big break with his family he has gained a sense confidence and has undertaken a kind of hero-journey through opening up about his mental health struggles and destructive coping mechanisms used in the past to numb out his emotions directly or indirectly related to his mother’s death. Sun square Mars and Neptune describes someone who struggles to act on his own will as well as finding and pursuing his own ideals and dreams. He is probably struggling and has been struggling with undermined sense of importance his whole life, perhaps naturally given the circumstances of always being the unruly sidekick to his older brother growing up. His 3rd house of siblings is ruled by Aries, which points to competitiveness and head butting, not to mention a strong need to be the best. I’m sure this competitiveness isn’t and wasn’t all bad – it likely kept them alert and motivated to improve their skills and abilities. Another sibling signifier is Mercury, sitting in the 8th house. Harry has admitted that he views his brother to be as stuck as his father, that he is trapped within the system upheld by other people’s values. Charles and William presumably don’t like being reduced to “victims” by their family member in a public statement. It must feel like being stabbed in the back by someone who’s supposed to show loyalty, to only for the sake of the monarchy but for the sake of personal feelings involved. Harry stated in the Oprah interview that he has great respect for all members of his family, but it was done in a business type manner, like an employee respects his employer “in theory”. The true feelings of Harry are obviously more complicated and seep through the carefully portrayed civilized sentiments. His public image being that of Scorpio, it certainly appears to the public like he’s take pains in order to get revenge through strategic moves involving relating secrets to the public of the power dynamics going on behind closed doors. Saturn in Scorpio conjunct the MC is especially prone to build a career by getting to the bottom of shady events. He’s now putting an emphasis in his work on mental health, raising awareness and exploring his own psyche as a way of enlightening the world, which is his Saturn in Scorpio in the 9thacting out. He has collaborated with Oprah on the on the documentary “The Me You Can’t See”, in which several well-known celebrities open up about their own mental and emotional difficulties. As a 9th house Saturn and Pluto in Scorpio person that Harry is, it’s not surprising that he wants to share these things. The 9th house is about sharing and distributing knowledge and Scorpio is about that which is hidden and taboo. Pluto sits in this house as well, putting an even stronger emphasis on highlighting uncomfortable issues hidden underneath the surface.

So I was just watching the new preview for Ariana Grande’s docu film and it happens to be a performance of one of fave track of hers then this scenario popped up in my head. Next thing I know I was typing away😂 i know i just wrote a scenario also using an Ari song for inspo but i just really really like her songs okay hahah I hope you enjoy reading this one!

The last time you saw Mark was when you broke up, With tears in your eyes, a smile that didn’t quite reach your eyes and a half hearted goodbye. 

It would be a lie if you say you didn’t miss him, these past six months have been hell for you. How do you go from having the most wonderful boy in your life then not? It’s was a struggle to say the least. 

The first week was hell. You didn’t even leave your room. Food tray abandoned that your bestfriend courteously left in hopes that you would eat, boxes and boxes of tissues littered around the trashbin, You made no effort in making yourself feel better, you spent that time just wallowing in pain and self pity. After the first month, you finally were trying to get back to normal. You tried not to cry so much, tried cleaning your place and even made plans with your bestfriend in hopes that it will cheer you up. 

There are moments of course when you can’t help but wonder what he’s doing right now. Mark was a busy guy, if he wasn’t halfway across the world he would be too busy to come and see you. To an extent you understood that. You knew that it was going to be the tough but you still chose him anyways. 

Loving him might have been complicated but he was worth all of it. 

Until one day you realized that you haven’t seen your boyfriend, well now ex boyfriend, in a good six months. Given that he wasn’t even in the same country as you half the time but still, you sent a total of 9 messages back and forth over the past three weeks. NINE. 

Mark was beyond tired, if there was anyone who knew this it would be you. There were far too many nights when he came to you, crashing straight into your arms and saying only a few words because he just didn’t have the energy in him. You just hugged him a bit tighter because you know he’ll understand what you were trying to say without using any words. 

You should’ve never let it get to that point, the point where it felt like you didn’t know how to talk to each other anymore. You were angry at yourself and Mark too. 

As your gaze fall on him from across the room, you can see the usual smile he had on. The look in his eyes as if they hold all the stars in the universe. 

You try not to stare too long but you were a second too late before his gaze was on you. 

Quickly you looked away, pretending to be interested at the cup in your hand before making your way out of the room and into the second story of the house you were in. 

You found yourself at an empty balcony, the booming bass from downstairs could be felt through the floor. You set your cup down on the bannister, just taking this moment to take a deep breath and collect your thoughts. 

“You okay?” the sudden voice from behind you made you jump in surprise, looking back to see Mark holding up both of his hands “Sorry sorry I didn’t mean to scare you” he said

You just looked at him for a few seconds, he feels nervous under your gaze he didn’t even know why is that. Maybe because it’s the first time he’s seen you in months. Or maybe because you looked as beautiful as ever and he wanted nothing but to tell you this. Or maybe because he just missed you too much. 

Of course he didn’t say any of those things, instead he felt awkward around you. Rethinking his choice of following you up here, but in his defense he just wanted to check if you were okay

“It’s okay, I was just trying to get some fresh air” you answered, Mark had one hand on the back of his neck. Something he did when he’s nervous. 

Why was he nervous? you thought

“Uhm.. well... okay. I was just checking to see if you were okay” he mumbled, not sure what to say next

“I’m alright, thanks” you shoot him a quick smile before turning your back to him, too afraid that he might see you’re just as nervous as him. 

You hear his footsteps get closer then he was standing next to you, looking over at the view infront of you. 

“You used to hate going to parties” Mark remembered you telling him how you really didn’t like large crowds after he invited to a party that one of his friends threw, you only said yes because he looked like he really wanted you to come with him so you did. But after an hour, you admitted to him just how much you disliked it. 

At that time you thought he was going to be mad ad you but it was Mark, so instead he just smiled down at you before saying a quick goodbye to his friends. You found yourselves at a 24 hour diner sharing a plate of cheese fries and two chocolate milkshakes.

“I still do” your answer made him look over at you, confused as to why you were here tonight. He was glad he saw you again but also baffled at what you just meant by that

“I go out to forget, hoping the drink would help me get over it” you mumbled, you can’t but give him the honest answer

“it?”

you chuckled before speaking, “Think of it as a way of me self-destructing, I don’t like being here but I also hate being at home wallowing in my loneliness every night”

Your answer broke his heart. He knew he was the reason why you were hurting so much and he hate himself for it. He promised he would never ever do anything to make you feel that way, he clearly broke that promise. 

“Sorry” him suddenly apologizing made you look over at him, a sullen expression taking over his face

“Don’t be, you don’t have to be sorry anymore”

“But I am, it was my fault why we ended up like this” Mark said, frustration, anger and sadness lacing his voice. He so badly wish he could go back and change how things turned out.

“It was bullshit when I said I was over it” he mumbled under his breath, not having the strength to look at you anymore

“Me too”

“Why did we ever break up again?” he asks, this time looking over at side to you. You can get lost in his stare forever but you know you don’t have that luxury anymore.

“Because we’re tired, the no-shows, few text, no calls. That’s not how we want to be together” you answered, a sad smile making its way on your lips

“And yet fate keeps bringing us back together” he mumbled, you don’t miss the quick gaze he had on your lips before looking back up into your eyes

A Clinical Look at the signs: Aries

Disclaimer: hugely based on Betty Lundsted’s Astrological insights into personality, a book published in 1980, so beware of ancient terminology, etc. Like anything Astrology-related, take it lightly and with common sense.

The most personal of the Fire signs, and often seen as selfish. Aries people are not selfish on purpose, but they are thoughtless. They pursue their own interests with enthusiasm and seldom realize that what they are doing might overwhelm or hurt another individual. If this is pointed out to Aries, they will be hurt and usually defensive.  When Aries discover, by themselves, they have hurt or disregarded someone, however; it often fills them with remorse. They’re a combination of idealism and enthusiasm. As Aries people mature, they begin out of necessity to cultivate patience to lessen the hurt feelings around them.

Aries usually say 'no' to anything suggested to them at the time the suggestion is made. But the saving grace of the Aries is that they go away and think about what you've said, and eventually you'll see that they adopt your suggestions, if those are any good. They’re are always in a hurry, rushing into the future looking to accomplish something - and they don't always know what that mysterious 'something' is. Description

The first side most people see of Jack is the side he wants you to see. A total asshole. It’s not an exaggeration - he’s pretty much infamous for flirting with everyone, dating anyone and as a serial cheater. He’ll actively try to worm his way into your life, and then just when you start to care, he does something to hurt you. He’s strangely persistent, probably helping him to push people even further, until they snap. There is nothing which satisfies him more than managing to wind people up to the extreme, get them to the point where they give up. Adopted parents, friends, nobody is immune to this side - he even tries it on the people he genuinely cares about, as if just to see if he’ll still be able to push them away.

The second side, which most people don’t see, is that at heart Jack is a kid. He’s the type of person to ask if owls have ears at 3am, or get some childlike joy out of dumb jokes. Of course, this is the side nobody but a very small number of people see. And even if you do see it, it never lasts long. He keeps his true personality under wraps even amongst those he does like, and it only slips out if he’s extremely comfortable with you. Otherwise, he’ll go straight back to being a sarcastic, flirty piece of shit.

04: PAST

Biography: 

Jackson Kelly was born in a council estate in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, in the UK. His life prior to adoption is not something he routinely talks about, but that’s mostly because he’d rather not give people reasons to pity him: his mother, 15 when she gave birth to him, was a drug addict; he has no idea who his birth father is or was, and no inclination to find out. Jack’s first ten years of life pretty much fell into the same cycle: get put into foster care, his mother would get clean and take him back, and then the cycle would repeat. But when the cycle ended when he was ten, and he was removed from his mother’s care for good, he wasn’t ready for it to end yet.

Sure, she wasn’t the best parent. But she was his mother. Jack quickly developed a reputation for running away, always found back at the same place. Foster parent after foster parent always ended up returning him, unable to cope with his rebellious tendencies and the constant hunt for him after he had run. As he aged, he only became better at avoiding being found. It practically became a game to him, a way for him to entertain himself. So when a wealthy American heiress and her British CEO husband decided that  of all people, they wanted to foster a now thirteen year old Jack, social workers almost wanted to ask if they’d misspoke. (Jack had assumed it was a practical joke.)

Claire and George, his new “parents,” were patient. They said he didn’t have to call them mum or dad, that even after they officially adopted him two years later he could keep his own surname, that they just wanted him to be happy. They moved him to a better school, got a private tutor to make up for lost time, tried to take an interest in his favourite things. But that wasn’t enough for Jack. Eventually, the situation resulted in drastic measures: a rainy afternoon with a social worker being told that Claire wanted to move the family to her birthplace of New York, and send Jack to the school she had attended many years prior. A fresh start would be better for him, they said. As if Jack didn’t know the real reason. He couldn’t run away if he was thousands of miles away.

And that was how a fifteen year old Jack made his way to Carnifex, with absolutely no change to his desire to wreak havoc or to his somewhat disturbing attitude towards other people. Therapists paid for by his adopted parents might say he was pushing people away to manifest emotions about neglect in early life; Jack would just say that he was keeping things interesting. Either way, the next couple years of his life escaped past him, and before he knew it he was in a school office, being told that his birth mother had died.

Obviously, Claire and George freaked, as if he would do anything. Pulled him out of school for a month, flew him back to England for the funeral, and practically wrapped Jack in bubble wrap like he was a baby or something. All he wanted to do was go back to school, ignore the guilt he felt in his stomach for letting them take him away, and go back to what he did best.

Timeline: 

December 4 2001 - Jackson Noel Kelly is born in Sheffield.

2005 - Jack is removed from his mother’s care for the first time. He is frequently removed from her care and then placed back in it for the next seven years of his life. 

2012 - Jack is removed from his mother’s custody permanently and placed in a temporary foster home. He bounces through foster homes for the next few years, including one where he meets Caitriona and becomes close with her. 

2014 - Jack is fostered by Claire and George. He resists any attempt for them to get close to him, and continues to act out. 

December 2016 - Jack is legally adopted by Claire and George, acquiring US citizenship, although he does not change his surname. 

January 2017 - Jack attempts suicide. He is placed in therapy and plans are made for his relocation to the US. 

March 2017 - Claire and George move back to America, taking Jack with them. He begins attending Carnifex. He continues to visit the UK regularly to visit his birth mother, who he keeps in contact with. 

April 2020 - Jack’s birth mother dies. He immediately disappears from school for a month, without telling anyone where he went. 

May 2020 - Jack returns to Luxor. It’s later accidentally blurted out mid fight with Zander that his mother is dead. 

June 2020 - Jack graduates and Leo tells the school Jack attempted suicide. 

September 2020 - Jack legally changes his surname from his birth name - Kelly - to his adopted parents surname, Fielding. 

December 2020 - Zander and Ches spread posters around claiming that Jack is HIV positive and gave it to Balo. They don’t provide any proof for this allegation, and Jack continues to deny it.

- He has a fairly strong Yorkshire accent which is obviously something other characters would likely notice when interacting with him. So if he uses words you don’t know it’s safe to assume he’s just being his dumb British self so you are free to have your character question the meaning/not know. (LMK if you’re unsure tho!)

- His favourite band is Oasis (closely followed by Arctic Monkeys), favourite film is Fight Club,  go to drink is either a double vodka coke or a pint of Heineken, and his favourite place is Leadmill in Sheffield because it’s where he’s seen some bands (and fucked girls in the bathroom. - Dyslexic, but if you mention it Jack will fight you, although it’s partially why he leans more toward math based subjects where his spelling ability is irrelevant.
