rough beast ganondorf design + sketches + notes design combines the typical boar form (dark beast + cloud form from botw), the oni one (demon king gan) hint at the draconic one to come but keep part of his humanity with his clothing being mostly intact

as the battle with Demon King Ganondorf comes to an end, the sages previously knocked out start to wake up again, he is cornered and hurt and as fear of being imprisoned, tortured and exploited overwhelms him he transforms into the Beast form, breaking the arena you were fighting him in and him going for Zelda as she is the biggest threat (he remembers her destroying dark beast gan and she reminds him of sonia, who is the one you sealed his human body back in the day)

you and zelda flee through the cracks of the earth as more earthquakes happen with a beast at your heels thats now truly only out to kill as fast as possible as he burrows after you (first sketch)

the path takes you both just below the surface and as you are trapped in a dead end zelda shields herself and link with her light shield ability, which protects you both from immediate damage but cant soften the impact from gan charging at you, the impact of which breaks you all three to the surface and the battle takes place in the same spot as botws dark beast fight-

fight is very challenging as gan is smaller than the dark best version, jumping and charging at you while still able to cast spells, now truly throwing everything he can at you in the hopes of ending you both

fight ends with you shooting an arrow at zelda, her deflecting it at the right angle and it shooting off the enigma stone on gans forehead; he falls seemingly defeated and as zelda runs to take the stone away gan through sheer panic lunges for the stone triggering his dragon transformation and making way for the final fight

(summary of the end: in the final fight gan snatches up both link and zelda once he transformed into the black dragon and takes flight toward the sky, zelda falls from between his teeth and knowing that she cant get to link and help him in any way from the ground she, while falling, takes out the enigma stone she has kept in a save container in her backpack all this time and swallows it for her own transformation, in her white dragon form she takes active action and charges at gans head so link is freed, then supports him in the fight itself; at the end link plunges into dragon-gans mouth to reach the stone on the inside where he makes use of the 'medicine' previously made using the moonbloom taked from kogas secret lab, link and the stone are spit out and as gan reverses into a human and falls link is caught by zelda and he uses the second charge of it on her to bring her back as well; as all three fall from the skies as the sages have made their way through the tunnel that beast gan made earlier, they help link and zelda getting to the ground safely while the yiga do the same for gan - final end end isnt determined yet but this is waht i got so far and even if i have written this once before i felt it was fitting to do it again and no you cant tell me this is too much of a wishfulfillment thing bc it literally is just that as i cant actualyl change whats in the game, so even if im trying to make it all fit well together i can still do what i want nhakjdbgshdbhsjka)

Coming back to tell you how much I love that little comic with the Chosen Hero and the Hero of Men. There's no dialogue, but it still has a strong sense of sadness and hope. And the parallels between the two are fantastic, I really wish Nintendo gave us more information about what happened between Skyward Sword and Minish Cap because now I'm really thinking about it and how whatever happened had to be pretty scary if the Hero of Men decided it was in everyone's best interest for him to yoink the Chosen Hero's sacred sword from its temple.

All those words to say your art is wonderful and I'm thinking about it and the piece of LoZ lore it represents. ❤️

I love love love that u said that what was happening during the hero of men’s time had to be pretty scary, bc YEAH. To pull the sword of the first hero and first king of Hyrule (^.^) who probably would kill to not have fi be woken up is CRAZYYYY,,, either he’s oblivious or in a really bad situation,,, What is known about him leaves to believe that he was a knight tho, and they 100% knew about fis resting ground,, It is said that the world was about to be swallowed by evil, which makes me think Botw final cutscene or sksw final girahim type severity of monster floods. So I think hom (ill refer to the hero of men like this for now) link probably saw getting the sacred, legendary master sword as his only chance at saving hyrule.

Idk if he would’ve know himself to be the legendary hero reborn due to triforce mark, maybe he just stumbled across it in an attempt to hide some injured knights in the temple of hylia,,,, Side note on the temple of hylia, love the abandoned look in the comic but it doesn’t really make sense, does it? Bc why would sksw Link want fis resting place to not be well kept? Would he visit before his passing?

Anyway, he takes the sword defeats the monster hoards and gives hyrule a brief moment of safety. He’s made into a high ranking knight or maybe head of the knights (he’s probably rather young still, as that seems to be a theme for the chosen hero and priestess, so maybe late teens, and before having the master sword he was a knight in training?) and then, when the picori/minish come down to earth (i dunno from where, was that ever said? Just from the skies i thiinkkk,,,) he gets the picori blade and I think the light force from them. It’s similar use does bring up the question why hom link would use the picori blade over the master sword,, maybe because its a gift and the master sword is like this sacred sword meant to rest and that got him feeling bad hahaha,, Hom link trapped the monsters rather than killing them but I can’t remember if the trapped them in the sword or the chest or somewhere else hmm,,, the sword later turns into the four sword right? (I’m so sorry im too lazy rn to do research 😭) I don’t think hom link would’ve been able to use it as this tho, i think he never got it to a point like this, just used it to save the world once and then gave it away for the contest ^^ In one of the stained glass the sword he gets DOES look like the four sword but i am going to ignore that bc I think i can.

Also, for reasons that I can’t (don’t want to) talk about rn I personally would change it being the 50th anniversary of the Picori Festival instead of the 100th ^.^ also I think hom link would stay a close friend to the royal family partially to protect the holder of the light force which was sealed into his Zelda i think and passed down to her children and their children yk,, and don’t tell anyone I said this but he is alive during minish cap and ezlo was one of the minish that gave him the blade during the Force era ;)

I also think the minish weren’t really ever introduced to the public but instead kept in strict contact to the royal family and those they trusted, which is why during mc basically no one knows about them, and those that once did are already fairly old or dead.

okay so if i make myself a Dink (dark Link) i would want to make him a version of one of the links that doesn't have a Dink (so not Hero or Gish, or even Huntress or General/ Linkle, or Guardian (maiiced Guaridan counts as a dark link in my eyes))

My first instinct is to give the dink to Sage, not just because they are my blorbo but bc it's easy for my to come up with an idea as to how the dink was made. So maybe Rauru actually removed Links arm (implied to be the case as he mentioned that he had to 'replace' it in his dialogue) and that arm fell into the depths. So all that gloom with the DNA of the hero grew into something that woke up thinking it was the hero (maybe it had made it's way to the secret underground springs under the shrine of resurrection where it was reborn), so in the depths, there's this being that thinks it's the hero just trying to find Zelda and a way out. I could see Sage coming across them while doing the stuff for the spirit temple or even in the depths below the lost woods. (bc it's made of Gloom it may not even be able to leave the depths... who knows I'm just brainstorming lol)

But if I really wanted to lean into the whole 'made to protect the triforce' thing, I could have it be something that King or Queen (sksw Zelink) made after their adventures as a way to protect both the triforce and the Master Sword. That would give my Dink a reason to even have a 'dark' Master Sword that isn't really dark. (It's not evil, just in a different color palette to match Dink's vibe) It likely would know that it's not the same person as Link, and is a creature made by Hylia, likely out of the remnants of dark magic that either Girahim left behind or pieces of the imprisoned that were shed. I love the whole vibe of making something good out of something pure evil. (It's aesthetic would likely include some gold/light/prismatic elements rather than just black gray and red, due to being a creation of Hylia)

I could also have the Dink from the child timeline who has been waiting in the water temple for a hero that would never come, so eventually, he just leaves, and as he's still connected to Hero, he has the same yearning for a normal life but he's also too spooky to be seen around so he's just sadly walking around the woods being all soggy. (I'm gonna be honest here idk if it has lore in tp and I'm thinking about putting some distance between those two stories anyway aka the Heroes Shade is not the Hero of Time, she's just a badass who is in between the family line at some point who had a bad time)

Or I could always just make a guy that I can drop anywhere in the timeline and fuck around and do whatever I want with.

Sorry. By legend of zelda lore u meant inspired by the overall lore, mainly Skyward Sword. In fact... TOTK would probably be soemthing that contradicts this lol. Also I wouldn't say "like in totk" because thus isn't one for one just something somewhat inspired by it.

as for Meliodas and Elizabeth's goal... overall it's a bit of a toss up. Their main goal is to protect the seal, which was split into pieces, but they do want to find a way to release their respective clans. They also want to eventually be able to destroy their parents completely so that they can stop suffering in the reincarnation/immortality cycle, but considering they aren't gods anymore, it's an impossible problem to them.

As for the creation of the seal. That a very interesting thing because it is a lot like in canon where they had all the other races help, as for why Meliodas wasn't depicted. Well, originally, there was going to be a depiction, but Meliodas had declined. Instead, they placed depictions of the events leading up to the sealing as murals and carvings around where the Dragon Handle, the piece Meliodas had crafted, was meant to stay. Over the next thousand or so years, though, it got stolen.

Okay, I'm glad it's not based on totk, I guess I just made a premature assumption, bc it's pretty much the only zelda game people are talking about rn, bc it just came out^^" Thanks for clearing that up^^ And since it's more based on Skyward Sword, I know all about that game bc I've played and replayed it several times XD I really like it, although it had a lot of unrealized potential with the sky and flight (and more) being pretty underutilized, but that's a discussion that deserves a post of its own.

So their goals are pretty much the same as canon, that makes sense. I guess one of the first steps towards their goal would be to, somehow, either become gods again, or find a way to kill their respective god. The zelda games always have the master sword or some form of it, combined with some form of a holy light from the goddess(es). Since Meliodas seems to have some form of craftmanship ability in this au, maybe he makes a weapon that has the potential of killing a god? Or a part of it or something, and Elizabeth would provide another part (or the other half, depending on how many parts the final weapon/tool is gonna be).

So are the other races are still depicted, along with the events leading up to the sealing instead of Meliodas/the demons? I guess that makes sense. Then there's also the question of if all the races were agreeing on sealing the SD and DK away, since they were, technically, fighting for them. One would assume that the goddesses and demons worshipped the SD and DK respectively in order to be willing to throw their lives away for them. Or maybe Mel and Eli had a small group of their race try and start a revolution and when that didn't work, they worked out the seal idea as a plan b. And there has to be a reason as for why Meliodas declined, since the seal wouldn't exactly be something one would put up in their home as a decoration, so I don't know if "oh he's just humble" would be the thing to go with, although I'm assuming that the reason as to why Meliodas can't be depicted on the seal is because he needs his identity to stay a secret in this au? Maybe the other races didn't know Meliodas was also in on it and that had to be kept a secret for some reason? As in, if the other races knew that a demon also had a hand in making the seal, especially the demon prince/lesser demon god, they would refuse to cooperate and think the whole seal idea was some sort of trick in order for the demons to win.

So the dragon handle got stolen from Mel, who I'm guessing was supposed to guard it until him and Eli figured out a solution to their... problem. What about the other pieces? Were they placed into the possession of the other races or folks to guard them? Or were they also lost at some point due to time? I could imagine some kind of monster having at least one of the pieces, a kind of monsters that loves to collect things, and in order to get the piece back, Mel and Eli either have to sneak around its lair or kill it, which would prove to be a challenge.

also thinking about the potential issues Zelda would have adjusting to her physical body after months as a ghost and phantom. would she have issues with dissociation? would she feel like her body didn't fit quite right, like maybe her soul slotted in a little far to the left? that her body should be bigger, she should be taller, should be stronger, like she was as a phantom?

i think the hand squeeze would become something of a grounding mechanism between zelda and link. if link notices her looking a bit dazed, he'll reach over and squeeze her hand to bring her back into the moment.

i also like the idea of zelda doing a lot of physical activities to make her feel more connected and in control of her body. exercise and combat training to make her body her own, and to make her capable of protecting herself if anything like chancellor cole were to ever happen again. she would never want to be that helpless ever again, only being able to shout for help from a boy with 0 combat training as an inhumanly strong man is 2 steps away from killing her.

What's your take on the Alex&Mccolough affair?

Remember how many times Laura described Alex as a “survivor” ? Well, I think that had a lot to do with Alex’s affair with McCullough.

I apologize in advance for the long reply. I’ve been thinking about this since s7 streamed and tbh the whole thing initially upset me even more than the Piper-Zelda thing (and that’s saying something bc Piper cheating on Alex in s3 upset me so damned much). After a month of trying to figure out what the hell happened, I came up with what I think is an explanation (or at least, a partial explanation) for what happened between Alex and McCullough...

So, episode 7x01 finds Alex in a terrible situation—she’s stuck in a Max prison with 3 years still left on her sentence, she has very limited opportunities for any in-person interaction with Piper, she can’t even hold or touch her wife, she’s worried about her marriage because of these restrictions...and on top of all that—she’s being blackmailed into dealing drugs by a CO who shoved a condom filled with heroin down her throat. It’s pretty hard to think of a situation where a person has less control then that...and we know that control is important to Alex. She’s not someone wanting blind power... or even a control freak...but control equals power, and in 7x01, Alex was essentially *powerless*. Because of this, I think Alex allowed the affair with McCullough (McC) to happen (and remember McC was the one who actually initiated it, in 7x07) as a way of getting some degree of control in prison, especially after dealing with a creepy, sadistic CO who forced her to deal drugs. Why McCullough? I think Alex’s interest in McCullough was piqued after she saw McC’s tattoo photo on Nicky’s phone, but I didn’t think much of it at the time because Alex had basically the same reaction when she saw that lingerie catalog model (“Lola”) in s3. Alex and McC’s first meeting in the utility closet (in 7x04) is terribly awkward—Alex turns her head when McC starts undoing her CO shirt (slowly and seductively) and she then looks even more awkward when McC unzips her shirt again to retrieve the chargers she “forgot” in her bra. When Alex sees the “Texas” tattoo on McC in 7x06, though, she teases her about it (“Couldn’t you have gone with “Aloha”?) and McC teases Alex back about her “lucky star” tattoo. This gets a laugh out of Alex, a genuine laugh. While McC is fastening Alex’s bustier onto Alex’s torso (in that same scene)—Alex looks uncomfortable, and maybe even a bit….vulnerable??…but she also doesn’t look like she /dislikes/ what McC is doing. And then we have McCullough’s personality—she’s thoughtful (e.g. suggesting Alex buy a case for her phone lol). conscientious… but she’s also vulnerable and has weaknesses (her PTSD, her feelings for Alex) underneath that dour exterior. In other words, she’s the perfect person to manipulate. Timing       Earlier in that episode (still 7x06), things with Piper had shifted—Alex had suggested an open relationship to give Piper some freedom so she wouldn’t break her parole and wind up back in Max…but then regretted it almost immediately afterwards. Later in 7x06, Piper gets a sexy text from Alex while she’s in her NA meeting and texts back “Stop pushing!”, and I always wondered if that kind of bothered Alex and if so, did it affect her behaviour in the bustier scene that followed, or her response to McCullough’s kiss in 7x07 ? Maybe I’m overthinking that and/or I still find it hard to believe that Piper would turn down any form of sex with Alex lol.

At their next utility closet meeting (in 7x07), Alex is a bundle of nerves, thinking about Piper having sex with other people. McC offers some (really bad) marital advice to Alex, but Alex awkwardly dismisses it and quickly leaves the room after she gets the new chargers from McCullough. At this point, their relationship is still all-business, ..which is surprising because at their next meeting (in a later 7x07 scene) McC kisses Alex…and Alex—-very surprisingly— kisses her back. While this is happening, Alex’s cel phone is ringing on “silent” mode, with  Piper on the other end of the line leaving a message telling Alex sadly that the open relationship thing isn’t working :/ Vauseman have always had terrible timing—they’re like a fucking O.Henry story. Taking Control In their next meeting (in7x08), McC apologizes for kissing Alex, Alex agrees that it was stupid and adds that it was also inappropriate because she’s married, etc. and then they get into an argument about the contraband smuggling that McC is still forcing Alex to do. Alex says that she didn’t ask for McC’s help “to become your mule” and I think this is Alex reacting to a lack of control she thought she had with McC. Despite the kiss they shared, Alex was still being blackmailed into dealing contraband for McCullough. She angrily reminds McC that if caught, she could have extra time added to her prison sentence (even though Alex was kind of cavalier abt it when she initially suggested smuggling chargers). I think though, that Alex *really* resented being forced to be someone’s drug mule…again. If you recall, Alex proudly described her career rise in Kubra’s cartel to Badison (in 6x07) as “a simple mule who climbed the ranks to become a top trafficker in a transnational criminal organization” and I think Alex strongly resented McC’s power over her *even more* bc of the high rank she once had in the cartel. Later in that episode, Alex narrowly misses getting caught with contraband in her cell and (by the look on her face) McC realizes just how much danger she’s putting Alex in. She comes by Alex’s bunk later on and tells her she can stop smuggling chargers, apologizes, and gives her a couple of chargers as a parting gift. It’s at this point where Alex could have stopped their relationship from progressing beyond that single kiss—she’s free from McC’s blackmail but she’s still on good terms with her—-but then Alex kisses McCullough once, and then a second time (after McC gently resists, then relents) and slowly pulls her into her bunk. Immediately before this scene, though, Alex is seen composing a text to Piper (“I need to tell you something…”) but then she erases it just before McCullough enters her cell. I think Alex felt guilty about kissing McC in 7x07, but on the other hand, she chooses not to send Piper that text. Why? I think Alex took the relationship with McC to another level in this scene because she wanted to have control over her…and McC was even easier to manipulate now that Alex knew *just* how much McC cared for her. Was Alex hoping that by being in a relationship with McC she’d continue to watch Alex’s back (ie. so she could avoid dealing with Hellman again) ?? Alex knew that McC wasn’t happy being a CO, so perhaps continuing their affair was Alex’s way of ensuring she’d continue working at Litchfield Max?? If so, yes–it’s cold-hearted and mercenary of Alex to exploit McCullough’s weaknesses, but Alex is pragmatic… and she’s a survivor. And surviving prison and not getting any extra time added to her sentence is what she vowed to Piper at their wedding. In their next utility closet meeting (7x09), Alex says she doesn’t want to “stop….selling chargers”, smiles at McC (in a way that indicates she’s not just talking about selling contraband) and continues to turn on the charm. At their next visitation, Piper tells Alex that she had sex with two randoms and met someone named Zelda who was her roommate at a retreat. When Piper asks if  McC is still making Alex sell chargers, Alex says “No”…which isn’t technically a lie (bc it was Alex’s decision to continue selling them)….but it really is lying…and Alex is breaking her wedding vows by continuing the smuggling operation. As bad as that is, though, I’m pretty sure Alex thought it was the lesser of two evils (breaking her vows vs. being able to bend McC to her will and have some form of control/safety in a harsh prison situation). Alex’s pragmatism at work again... Thoughts –Did Alex consciously turn McCullough into *her* mule? Because it seems to me that Alex had the upper hand now, being able to manipulate McC into continuing their illegal activity… –Was there some affection for McCullough on Alex’s part, because of the way Alex comforted her in the next episode (7x10)? As I said in a long reply to a recent ‘ask’, I don’t think Alex is someone who is looking for broken people to make her feel needed and that’s why she comforted McC; I personally think she genuinely felt sorry for McC and that’s why she hugged her after she saw McC’s burn marks.Protecting Her HeartThe shower scene in 7x10 is pretty easy to explain—Alex, after not being able to get in touch with Piper, finds out that Piper and Zelda have been hanging out a lot (thanks to Instagram), Alex is hurt by this so she decides to amp things up and protect herself from Piper by initiating sex with McCullough in this scene. Alex even admits to Piper that this was her reason for doing so in their 7x12 visitation scene (“I was trying to protect myself”….“I was scared that you would leave me”). It’s interesting that Alex has *never* done that before (protecting her heart like that) in any previous season…. because she could have done it in s1 (with the Larry situation) or in s3 (Dark!Piper’s cheating with Stella). In s7, though, Alex is still in prison and Piper is free, and Alex has absolutely no control over what Piper is doing with other people….one of whom is /not/ a random stranger but someone Piper obviously likes. Things Get Better….and Then They Don’t …and Then They Live Happily Ever After :)  Episode 7x11 sees Alex opening up the envelope with Piper’s love notes, and in her next scene with McC, Alex calls off their affair completely and apologizes for making McC think it was a real relationship (even tho Alex told her it was real, in the shower scene). I honestly think Alex was trying to let McCullough down easily by saying “It could be if things were different, but I’m married”. I don’t think she would *ever* choose someone else over Piper. Like never. McCullough is hurt by the breakup and gets Alex transferred to a prison in Ohio, Piper moves there to be with her wife, we see them touching hands (!) during some future prison visitation in Ohio, and they live happily ever after :)       One last thought I absolutely hate what happened with Alex and McC (and btw you will never see me using the term “McVause” after this post because ugh) and I didn’t see it coming *at all* based on Alex’s behaviour in seasons 1-6, so I was completely blindsided and in total shock after watching season 7. Thank god, though, that it was McCullough who discovered Alex trying to put the drugs into Hellman’s locker and not some other CO or we’d have had a very different season 7 and who  knows what would have happened to Alex in Max :/

you know what ? im gonna write the basic plot for soogas backstory here now too-

- his parents were both sheikah soldiers serving the royal family, they were nearly never home so he barely even knew them and was pretty much living on his own from a young age on

- they both died while on a mission far away, but that didnt change much for him other than him having to find a way to earn money himself now

- when he was a teenager he was recruited by the royal family (he wanted to tho) which is also where he met Hibiki (my only real zelda Oc .. sorry gotta involve them now- this is how they look, although they are older here than when sooga first met them

i think i forgot to post this on tumblr lmao; anyway they are an artist and a bit older than sooga)

- since they were both outcasts with no relatives that cared about them they quickly became friends (tho it was def more one sided at first bc Hibiki is a way more extroverted ) tho Hibiki has been a bit longer in the army so they rarely went on missions together and only hung out during breaks or when they had both time off

- even after years of training they both stayed in the lower ranks of the army and never managed to climb to a higher one, part of the reason was that Hibiki didnt do a good job of being a spy, not bc they were detected, they just never had much information to report for some reason and Sooga always defended them when they got bullied by higher ups for it (you know how he threatens ppl) which in turn made him less liked and got him almost kicked out once (and yes, Hibiki did have a crush on Sooga but he never realized that even tho they made it REALLY obvious)

- you know the story how link got appointed as zeldas bodyguard ? with him deflecting a laser from a malfunctioning guardian to protect the princess ? yeah, so in my hc, while he did deflect it it didnt straight up hit the guardian back but rather was simply redirected and although Hibiki tried to pull Sooga away it still hit the left side of his face which is how he got that big af scar and lost his eye

- he survived and of course Hibiki was there to take care of him whenever they could, but the more time went on while he recovered it was made clear that the higher ups wanted to kick him out of the army after his wound healed bc they didnt think he was fit to fight anymore missing an eye (thats what they said but it was pretty obvious they just wanted a reason to get rid of him) 

- Hibiki reassured Sooga they would do everything they could to convince them otherwise bc they knew that all he ever wanted to do is be a strong and respected soldier serving the royal family, but who would listen to the worst spy in the whole army .. he got kicked out anyway of course and was forced to work as a farmer (more like help other farmers really) 

- from then on Hibiki was trying to be a better spy, so they could earn enough respect to maybe get the army to welcome Sooga back into their ranks

- but one day when Sooga returned from some field work he noticed a new grave at the corner of the village, and asked who died, it took some time for him to find out it was Hibiki who fell in battle bc after they left the village they never returned so the other villagers forgot even their name, the army brought their body back into the village since they were borne there and didnt have any living relatives

- that was what pushed his resentment for the kingdom and the other sheikah over the edge really, he stole some ancient hidden away sheikah scrolls from the elder of the village and used them to teach himself some techniques ... or at least TRIED to, the only one he was able to manage was a half functional clone, which he used to fake his death and live a live in the shadows, staying away from settlements out of fear of beign recognized

- he made his way into the gerudo desert where he never went to before, and in a cold night snuk undetected into the yiga hideout in the search for shelter since he wasnt equipped for that kind o extreme weather .. tho he didnt realize what he just did

- in the morning he was found after all and, understandably, attacked bc wth how did that guy even get in here ?? after he managed to survive for pretty long given the circumstances, he tried to flee but was stopped by master kohga himself, and while kohga was monologing about .. stuff, Sooga realized this might be his chance to live a proper life again and that pretty close to what he always wanted, so he promptly asks to join them

- positively surprised kohga of course cant just accept him into the clan like that, i mean Sooga was wearing sheikah clothing and got UNDETECTED into their hideout and took a nap there for several hours before being found, thats suspicious as hell

- after being put through several tests and challanges he is accepted into the clan after all-

- now fast forward post calamity (just a few years tho) the topic of Soogas origins comes up and he tells kohga alot but is interrupted bc koh ask him if the friend he was talking about was “a kinda weird artist” ... turns out Hibiki died in a clash with the yiga clan and ... was killed by kohga himself.

- Hibiki always carried a sketchbook in a bag around with them, and the clan took it after their death bc they thought it might contain useful info, it didnt, but since the sketches in it where pretty good they kept it anyway even if it was only half readable since it got soaked in blood

- that is a reveal that tested soogas loyalty to the clan like nothing else could (everyone in the clan including kohga, was expecting him to turn against them again, but were still waiting for him to actually betray the clan)

- sooga didnt turn on them tho, reason was, he managed to seperate the pages of the sketchbook that were stuck together from blood and discovered finely detailed art of the hideout, of its interior too and even of kohga as well

- Hibiki never had much info to tell their superiors bc they snuk around the hideout when on a mission but never with the goal to rat the clan out. they secretly admired kohga and the clan, even wanted to join them for a long time, but never got to do it bc they didnt want to leave Sooga behind but also .. they were afraid to tell him bc he was so focused on becoming a good sheikah soldier they were sure he wouldnt feel the same; they were torn between wanting to join the yiga but afraid of destroying their friendship with sooga ..

when they got into that fatal fight with the clan, kohga didnt even attack them with the intend to kill and they could have easily dodged or parried the hit, the reason they didnt was, ironically, bc they were so stunned by admiration of seeing their idol right in front of them they didnt move a muscle until it was too late...

this got longer than i thought, maybe i went into too much detail here, but anyway this is a summary of the backstory i came up with for Sooga, it doesnt end here tho, this is more like the story of how sooga became part of the yiga; after all of this comes alot more tho it wouldnt make much sense to add that here too xD

Do ya’ll ever remember how beautiful Zelda and Link’s relationship was in BoTw?

The beginning was comical, honestly.

Zelda dislikes Link because she thought he didn’t have to work for his fate, that it was given to him. She also can’t stand the fact that she doesn’t know what he’s thinking bc he expresses nothing and it bothers her that he’s able to get under her skin without even saying a word.

Link, as devoted as ever to his role, dresses in vai clothing so he can protect Zelda within Gerudo Town’s walls (because she used the law against him so he would be forced to leave her alone. I love how petty she is ngl). He then feels as though he failed his duty when he realizes Zelda is long gone and goes back home disappointed.

After Link saves her life at Kara Kara Bazaar (despite how she yelled at him a day before and said she didn’t need his protection), Zelda becomes determined to mend the bridge she quite purposefully burned.

The middle part gets interesting as we see them actually form a bond with each other.

With Zelda trying to be nicer and more understanding of his mute nature, Link answers her questions when she asks. Knowing his thoughts, Zelda can actually form an opinion on Link that isn’t based on her biased opinion.

She realizes that she wants to get to know Link, someone who faces a similar burden she knows all too well. So, she learns Link loves food more than anything. He’s always ready to eat something. Maybe even frogs so she can analyze its effects on his body or actions.

Link listens to Zelda, as she shares with him the problem she faces. He understands, just as Zelda does, that they both have burdens that have affected them both (Link’s muteness and Zelda’s passive agressiveness).

Zelda has Link stay with her in the castle so she can ramble on about the Sheikah technology and how they’ve accomplished the fear of controlling them. She knows he doesn’t have to be in the castle with her but she wants him to be there just so she can talk to him.

Link, unlike anyone else (except Urbosa maybe), has seen the toll not being able to access her power has taken on Zelda. He hears her pleas and even turns around when she asks the Goddess what was wrong with her. He doesn’t think for a minute it’s got anything to do with her, he just wants her to see that as well. He’s become so protective of her that whether it’s her doubting herself or the ground shakes, he is there incase she falls.

Zelda refuses to go into hiding when Ganon comes back, instead accompanying Link as he goes to face Ganon. She could have gone with Urbosa to see the Divine Beasts in action, but instead she stays with Link.

The end is tragic.

Link, unable to actually face Ganon, is forced to take Zelda and run for Kakariko Village. He sheaths the Master Sword when she falls, listening to her as she breaks down. He has to be there for her. If it had been when he was first assigned as her knight, he probably would have gotten her up so they could continue running for their lives. Instead, he takes the chance just so he can comfort her. Because he knows how hard this is for her and needs to remind her she isn’t alone.

Zelda begs Link to try and save himself. She is relatively unharmed, probably a few bruises but nothing from the Guardians. She knows he is close to dying, his wounds much too great for there to be any real hope. So when he makes a point to make his final act in this world to save her from the Guardian’s beam, there was no way she wasn’t going to stand between them. She didn’t know the power would unlock in that moment, all she knew was that she HAD to save Link.

Link, unable to stand anymore despite his best efforts, collapses. When Zelda helps him up, saying that he’ll be okay, he can’t help the look of disbelief on his face. He knows he’s about to die, the last thing he’ll ever see is Zelda’s face. But he knows she’s okay. She’s alone. If he has to go, he can.

But after this, the motivation becomes clear.

Zelda, upon hearing the voice and knowing what to do, refuses to let Link share the same fate as all the other Champion’s and her father. She takes the sword and the tunic, making it to their original destination while Link is hurried off to the Shrine of Resurrection. She instructs Impa to give him the tunic when he wakes up as well as where to go to unlock the final memory of their journey together.

She goes to the Great Deku tree, hiding the sword and speaking the Great Deku Tree. She even tries to have him relay a message to Link, but he doesn’t let her even speak. He knows she will see him again, so why should he tell him a message she can surely say to him herself.

And so, she goes into Hyrule Castle, ready to keep Ganon at bay while Link recovers. She wakes him when the time has come. She guides him, gives him warnings and encouragements. She watches as he regains his memories, becomes stronger, and earns back the sword she hid a century ago.

As Link arrives to assist her, she’s unable to contain Ganon any longer. Her power has reached a limit. By the time Link defeats the body Ganon had been preparing, she’s regained some of her power, able to send a weapon to him and point out weaknesses.

Then, she is able to finally seal Ganon away.

After the battle is even more curious.

She praises Link for his victory, but that isn’t what she wants to say. She wants to know if he remembers her. If she’s just a distant memory or a very real person in his mind. Whether he remembers how close they were. How she came to rely on him when no one in her life believed in her. (Again except maybe Urbosa).

Link (in this version got all memories back) stares at her. Stares at the girl who is the center of everything in this world. The girl who wanted him to eat a frog, the girl who yelled at him for following her, the girl who rambled on about ancient technology, the girl who stood between him and a shot that would have surely ended his life.

Of course he remembers her. How could he not?

More birb family adventures headcanons as requested by anon:

• Saki makes Link a new Snowquill armor. Rito‘s use their own feathers for it, mostly from the young ones as they molt more often from children to young adults, tho in my headcanon adults still do it. Children maybe several times a year and adults only once. Anyway— Saki uses Tulin‘s and Teba‘s feathers for it mostly but some of her own too ofc. It looks like if you dye the Snowquill armor in game white but with some of Saki‘s feathers in it too just because she can. Link is her new son too after all.

• Link and Saki enjoy cooking together and they keep Teba as far away from the cooking pot as they can. The only thing Teba can cook is fish on a stick without burning it.

• Link insist taking Tulin to the flight range alone so he actually spends some time with his wife for once. Saki sure deserves being spoiled by Teba a bit. (Also Tulin wants some siblings so get on with it Teba)

• Link is still Zelda‘s knight but she spends a lot time at Gerudo Town or the Zora Domain and given she is well protected there and Zelda insists, he uses that time to spend it at Rito Village. Especially because Revali is there too (After all the Champions live RIIIIIGHT)

What inspired you to try/create that muse/s: I’ve talked about this a little bit before;essentially I created this AU first and then the blog was sort of a way to get my ideas out. I considered writing a fic but I don’t really have the time or focus and i’m not enough of an artist to draw it out. (although I still want to sit down and sketch some designs at some point)

Uh as for what inspired the AU itself? A few things. Watching BNHA, it never really made sense to me that Izuku couldn’t be a hero without a quirk. It felt very much like “telling not showing” story telling bc while the characters kept insisting it was impossible, all evidence shown says the opposite. We constantly see Izuku doing great things without using OFA and we also see some pretty irrelevant quirks. Is the guy who can stretch his fingers or the one who can pull his eyeballs from his head really better off than Izuku. I mean, really?

So I was thinking about that a lot and I kept seeing quirkless villain AUs where Izuku is really capable, like essentially the perfect enemy. But no quirkless hero AUs. I saw a couple posts mention liking the concept but no fics, no fanart, no headcanons. Basically I was hungry for that content so I made it myself lmao. No regrets.

What is inspiration for that muse/s: I mostly try to draw from canon, to the point where this is probably better described as ‘canon divergent’ than an actual AU. I try to keep all major events the same and my headcanons are all based on stuff that has happened in canon as well. Whenever I need inspiration to write, re-reading chapters of the manga or watching some of the anime usually does the trick.

Most of Izuku’s gadgets are based on video games or other anime that I like. His arsenal of arrows is based heavily on the Legend of Zelda series and his coil-rope is based on a few anime.

There is a fair amount of drawing on my own experiences as well, for the parts of his anxiety and autism. As well as a lot of research. I spend a lot of time reading up on things like psychology as well as biology and physics bc uh Izuku is one smart cookie and I am not. Sometimes it will take me hours of research for one reply, because Izuku is uh,,,,a fucking nerd.

Thread/AU that made you really happy: Hmmmmm, I have a lot? 

but uhhhhhh I tend to really really enjoy threads that are plotted out with my partner. Not necessarily beforehand but at some point. Sharing headcanons and knowing it’s going somewhere make me a lot more excited than one-off threads (which I still enjoy, don’t get me wrong!) tbh the more we interact OOC, the more i’m going to enjoy our IC interactions.

I also really like doing random dash shennanigans! those make me super happy!

Something really special on your wishlist: Uh i’ll make a proper post about this at some point but I’d really love to explore Izuku facing off against one or more of his classmates for some reason and them essentially realizing how fucked they are/that it’s a good thing he’s normally on their side.

It being some sort of class exercise is good but also uh mind control would be cool (not like Shinsou’s quirk, something more where he’s acting independently but the quirk is influencing him to attack? idk) and uh yeah basically I just live off of people realizing how capable Izuku is

Something you are looking for in short future for your muse: I’m really looking forward to developing him more on the emotional side. I think i’ve focused too much on the practical “how would this work” side of this AU but now that i’m somewhat happy with the timeline i’d like to return to his actual character arc.

What do you think about character’s design/how do you came up with this:

I make fun of Izuku quite a bit but I actually love his design. It really highlights his personality. The wild hair, the big eyes, the adorable pinch-able cheeks. I love how dorky looking he is lmao and honestly I get upset when people try to make him look more suave. Stop it. (i’m looking @ you anime where are my boy’s tacky t-shirts)

His hero costume though? I hate it. So much. Especially the alpha version. But the beta and gamma aren’t much better. 

What your muse taught you: I know a lot of irrelevant shit I didn’t know before that’s for sure like how a quadratic function can be used to calculate the trajectory of projectiles and how genetics work/how genetics would affect quirks. Like I mentioned before, a lot of research goes into writing this boy.

On the sappier side? Izuku really goes to show being a kind person doesn’t make you a weak person. I faced a fair amount of bullying and abuse as a kid myself and it kind of turned me into an asshole. As a way to ‘protect’ myself. And the whole world kind of acts like being nice is a bad thing. The whole nice guys finish last nonsense.

Izuku learns to stand up for himself in a way that isn’t mean or cruel or hardened. He’s still incredibly soft and empathetic. He still cries at the drop of a hat despite being strong emotionally and physically. And god, I wish I could be more like him in that regard.

What is roleplay for you: Hnnnn does it sound bad if I say ‘a hobby’? I enjoy it, and like with all hobbies it’s a great way to meet like-minded people and make friends. But it’s not my job, and I don’t plan on becoming a professional writer or anything. It’s all for fun.
