Personally I love when bree and chase team up to take adam down a peg. It's always either bree and adam ganging up on chase, or adam and chase annoying bree, but sometimes bree and chase are on the same page and work together against adam, and it's so fun when they do
#like don't get me wrong i love adam (except when he was randomly really mean near the end of season 3)#but he needs humbled every so often#just like adam keeps chase humble#and bree and chase are such a duo too#though adam should have been in ef#both things can be true#people who ship them can fuck off btw#i know y'all exist and that's gross#lab rats#bree davenport#chase davenport#adam davenport#they're BEST FRIENDS

Hello, my name's Maddox (they/them, xe/xem/xyr, a/am/aes). This is the blog where I put all things EFCU-related. Marcus is pretty obviously my favorite character lol but I'm always ready to talk about ANYTHING efcu, just shoot me an ask or wtv.
directory...
-> AO3
cogito ergo sum (gen, 49k, WIP)
AU series wherein Marcus was sent to infiltrate the Davenports as their adopted family member instead of as their friend. Includes angst, betrayal, found family (is it still found family if they're related?), and a surprising amount of introspection and philosophical debates. who you pretend to be (38k, complete) - starting point of the series Brought to a parallel universe where my family are villains!?? (11k, complete) - oneshot rewrite of Parallel Universe, set mid-WYPB
Like a Sign (gen, 6.3k, WIP)
When Donald Davenport goes missing, his prodigal son enlists a private investigator to help find him. (Or: mystery AU!)
sins of the father (gen, 2.3k)
His name was S-3. He was third-in-command, the strongest and most trusted of his father's soldiers. These were his siblings and this was his mission. The others may have forgotten, but he didn't. They were made to rule the world. (Or: Taylor visits Sebastian in prison.)
What If I (gen, 1.3k)
Sometimes he got these… waking nightmares. (Or: Oliver deals with OCD.)
rose thorns (gen, 1.7k)
He'd seen that word, aromantic, on the AVEN forums and he knew he thought about it too often. He knew the utter relief he felt at the thought of a world without romance wasn't exactly normal. (Or: Oliver deals with being aromantic.)

My One
Kili x GN!Reader: One-Shot
Summary: You and Kili are inseparable as a mischievous duo. But because you weren’t part of the royal family, you couldn’t join the Company to take back Erebor. Fearing for Kili’s safety, you ask him not to go. He promises he will be fine and will see you again once the Lonely Mountain is secured. What happens when the promise is broken?
Requested by Anon
Notes/Warnings: Hella angst! Character canon deaths in this!
“You two! Stop right there!”
But there was no way you and Kili were slowing down. If you were caught, you would be lectured by Thorin for days. He still hadn’t fully calmed down from the last prank you and Kili had pulled off. Fili swears the real reason why Thorin’s hair was turning grey was because of you two.
The dwarven encampment was on the edge of the village of Bree and the two of you weaved around all the tents, occasionally jumping to miss a small child or dog. Past the last tent, you both race towards the trees that backed the Barrow-downs. Finally, you both stopped so you could catch your breath, leaning against a tree.
“I can’t believe you actually put that in Dwalin’s ale!”
Kili did a double-take. “You dared me to!”
“You don’t have to do every dare I give you.”
“Yes, I do.” You were both laughing now. Sometimes it was hard to believe you were best friends with one of the royal princes.
“Bâheluh, what would I do if I didn’t have you to cause mischief.” You placed your head against his shoulder.
“Bâheluh. My friend of all friends,” Kili mumbled quietly. He took a deep breath and spoke louder, “you are that as well for me, but I wish to speak of another matter.”
You lifted your head to wonder why Kili had turned so serious, but a loud voice broke the moment.
“There you two are!” Fili came running up. “Thorin has been looking for you, Kili.”
You both exchanged a look. Had Dwalin already figured out who did the prank? But instead of trying to explain yourselves - because you had learned long ago that you may accidentally confess to a prank Thorin did not know of - you instead asked a question. “Why is our king seeking us?”
“Not us, just Kili. This is a matter for the royal family.” Fili wasn’t saying that to be cruel, there were just certain things you couldn’t know at your status.
So you nodded your head and hugged Kili. “Come find me afterward so we can finish this conversation.”
“Our usual spot?”
“Of course! Bye, Fili!” You waved at the princes before walking off.
With the rest of the day empty without your partner-in-crime, you walked back to your tent to see if your parents needed any help for the rest of the afternoon. But they were in a deep discussion when you approached them and only chased you off so they could talk privately. You soon noticed it was like that all over the encampment and part of you felt it had to do with whatever Thorin needed Kili for.
So with your day truly free, you made your way to the small pond that was tucked in the woods. You and Kili had stumbled upon it shortly after camp had been made and it had been your spot ever since. Sitting down by the water, you watched the setting sun glimmer over the water as a small duck family swam by.
Thoughts of Kili filled your mind as you waited. You had known him for so long, despite the royal family having their reservations of one of the princes spending time with a commoner. But Kili had never cared because you saw him as he was and not a prince. The two of you had clicked instantly and became a pranking pair. Where it had once been Fili and Kili, it was now you and Kili. And everyone noticed it. While your parents hoped that one day you would be lucky enough to be courted by Kili, you weren’t so optimistic.
Yes, you had fallen in love with the prince. You were pretty sure he was your one. But you were not so blind as to believe the royal family would let you marry him. Not to mention, Kili never once led you to believe he had felt the same.
“Don’t think too hard, or you may hurt your head,” a familiar voice teased.
You looked up and smirked. “Funny, that is usually what people believe of you thinking.”
Kili took a seat next to you. “You wound my pride, _____”
“I don’t believe it for a moment,” you teased back. “Is everything alright?”
Kili sighed. “Thorin wants to take back his home. Our home.”
“Erebor,” you whispered. “He wants to go to the Lonely Mountain? But doesn’t the dragon still sleep there?”
He took a deep breath. “The dragon does, but we will not be alone. The wizard Gandalf will be accompanying us and we will have to hire a burglar.”
“A burglar?! Whatever for?”
“To grab the Arkenstone. It’s the only way Thorin can properly claim his throne.”
“And what of the dragon?”
Kili grew quiet. “We have not figured that part out yet.”
You took a deep breath. “Alright. I’m coming with you.”
“What?!”
“I’m coming with you. This will be a long journey and I cannot have you face it alone. We will face the dragon together.”
Kili shook his head. “No, I cannot let you do that.”
“You do not have a say in this.”
“No, but Thorin does. He has already selected those who will join him.” Kili paused. “He would not let you join.”
“Just like that? I am supposed to wait for you to return?”
Kili took your hand and you could feel him tremble. “I do not wish to part from you, but I must do this for my family.”
You squeezed his hands in reassurance. “I do not wish for you to leave. You- you mean so much to me.”
A smile crossed his face and for you, it was as if you were watching the sunrise. “It means so much to me to hear you say that, amrâlimê.”
Your jaw dropped slightly. Did Kili just call you his love? “Kili?”
Kili turned your hand over and placed a single bead in your palm, the same color as your eyes. “I want this to be a promise, that I will return to you. I- I want to court you when I return.”
“Oh, Kili!” You clutched the bead tight and threw your arms around his neck. “I would love nothing more!”
He held you for what felt like ages and each moment was beautiful. But too soon he was pulling away to look at you. “Will you-? May I-?
You smiled shyly and nodded your head. “Yes, you may braid my hair.”
Turning your head, you sat still so Kili could braid your hair and place the bead, letting everyone else know you were spoken for. “When I return, I will add a bead of the most beautiful gem I can find.”
“Just having you home will be enough for me.” You turned to face Kili and he planted a gentle kiss on your lips. “Please come home as quickly as possible.”
“I promise, amrâlimê.”
“Please, take this with you.” You reached into your pocket and pulled out a stone you had carried around since you were a child.
“Your good luck charm? I can’t take that from you.”
“You can and you will. You will need all the luck you can get against a dragon.”
He smiled as he tucked the dark green stone into his pocket.
Just a few days later, Thorin, Fili, Kili, and ten other dwarves were leaving to meet up with the wizard in the Shire. Apparently, the burglar they hired was a hobbit. Kili gave you one last hug and kiss before he ran off to join the Company. You stood on the road as long as possible to watch them walk off into the distance and after they were no longer in sight, you walked off to your spot. It was not even an hour, and already your heart felt empty.
You stayed until the sun had set and long even after that, never wanting to move for fear if you left your spot you would be leaving Kili. But your parents wouldn’t have you spend all night out in the woods and slowly convinced you to return to your tent.
The next day after your chores you were at it again. And the day after that. And that one as well. Soon the days were blending together and you were unsure as to how much time had truly passed. And your family was worried for you. They had seen the courting bead, but as much as they had hoped they also knew that there was a chance Kili wouldn’t come back. If not from the dragon, then from the Orcs that did not care for Thorin. But you refuse to give up hope.
So you waited.
And waited.
And waited.
……and waited still for your amrâlimê to return. To finish courting you. To marry you.
Your family convinced you to keep up with your chores and to keep up with the community, but any moment you weren’t needed, you were at your spot. You knew the moment Kili returned, he would come for you there.
Soon a year of waiting had passed and the encampment was filled with rumors. The dragon ate the Company. The burglar betrayed them and took the Arkenstone. The wizard was no wizard and the company was tricked into going to Dol Guldur instead. The Orcs captured the party and were now their prisoners.
Over and over and over the rumors swirled, never once giving your poor mind a break. It was to the point you felt you were going to snap. So you spent even more time at your spot. And what had once been a special, quiet place for you and Kili was now a place for anyone in the encampment to find you. There had been talk of packing up and moving closer to Erebor in case Thorin had been successful, but no one wanted to really move. Not without the word. Not with all the Orcs out there.
And you weren’t about to leave your spot.
On yet another morning where you were going to spend a few minutes at the pond before starting your chores, your mother stopped you.
“Please, uzfakuh, please don’t go there again.”
My Greatest Joy. She only called you that when she was truly worried for you. But you couldn’t help yourself.
“I’m sorry, amad. Mother, I must go. He may be back any day now.”
“I know you love him, but you must not-” she was interrupted by a loud commotion outside.
“They’re back!” Came one voice.
“That is Gandalf the Grey!” Shouted another.
“Kili,” you breathed. And before your mother could stop you, you were out the door and through the encampment. You pushed past others, the tall wizard in your eyesight as you made your way.
But when you got to the front of the group, you were met with a very somber Gandalf. He noticed you and at that moment he seemed to know who you are.”
“Are you ____?”
All you could do was nod your head.
He looked as if he aged even more at your gestured and reached his hand out. Trembling, you stuck your hand out to take whatever it was he was handing you. A small, dark green stone was placed on your palm.
“Kili spoke of you so much, I feel I know you personally. I know he would have wanted you to have this back.”
You began to tremble, not wanting to hear what Gandalf was about to say. “N-no. No! He- he said he would return to me. He- he said….”
“I am so sorry, ____. While they survived the dragon, it was the Orcs in the ensuing battle after the mountain was freed.”
He reached down to place a hand on your shoulder, but you shook him off and ran. Far and fast, your feet only knowing one spot. Bursting through the last of the treeline, you stumbled until you dropped on your knees, mere inches from the pond.
Sorrow began to take over your body and sobs began to pour out of your mouth. He was gone. He was truly gone. Your one, the dwarf you were going to marry, to start a life with. And now what did you have? A courting bead and your good luck stone.
You snorted through your tears. “Good luck stone. Some luck you brought me. Worthless stone.”
“A stone is neither lucky nor unlucky just because Kili didn’t survive the war,” Gandalf’s voice came softly up behind you. “We cannot control what fate may bring.”
“Fate is cruel and I don’t need your advice, of all people. I heard the rumors. You are the one who told Thorin to take back Erebor. You are the reason I don’t have Kili back!”
Gandalf took a deep breath. “Yes, I told Thorin to take back the mountain, but-”
“I don’t want to hear your reasons! Just leave! NOW!!”
Gandalf went to speak again, but you held your stone with the obvious intent to chuck it at his head. So he sighed, bowed his head, and left you alone to your sorrow.
Alone once more, you turned to the pond. You knew that this grief would consume you and you didn’t know how it could be better. But you knew one thing; you didn’t want to keep what was a reminder. So you reached out and dropped your lucky stone into the pond.
“Farewell, my amrâlimê. I will never love another. Until we can see each other again.”

The Early Morning (Leo and Douglas One-Shot)
The sun slowly rises waking a sleeping world. Leo sits on the roof of the house watching people and animals pass by. This is a peaceful time.
“I thought I’d find you up here, Kid,” Douglas says joining Leo up on the roof.
“Suppose so,” Leo replies.
“Anything wrong?”
“Why would you think that?”
“It’s just that you usually come up here when something in is on your mind.”
Leo lets low and soft laugh, “I guess I do. I hate that you these things about me.”
“So, what’s on your mind?”
“It doesn’t matter.”
Douglas pauses and looks at Leo. Leo eyes are bloodshot. This issue does matter to Leo. Douglas may not always be the best in these kinds of matters, but right now he is only one here.
“Look, kid, I know I am not the ideal person you want to talk to right, or maybe you don’t want to talk at all. I don’t know. I just know that something is bothering you,” Douglas states.
“Yeah, I know. It’s nothing worth worrying about,” Leo replies.
“Kid, I am worried about this because it worries you. You clearly haven’t slept in awhile.”
Leo sighes, “you’re not going to let this go, are you?”
“No.”
Both men where silent for a moment.
“Do you ever think that I am not needed around here anymore,” Leo asks.
“Kid, where on earth did you get that idea?”
“Just anwser the question.”
“Leo,” Douglas rarely uses Leo’s actual name taking to using the nickname kid. Leo knows that something is up with Douglas calls him Leo not kid. “I don’t where got the idea you’re not needed here, but I think it doesn’t matter. Family wants you around weather you’re needed or not.”
Leo nods. Deep down Leo knows that there is a lot of truth to what Douglas is saying. Family is who loves and wants you around no matter what, but lately it’s like he doesn’t exist.
“I guess you are right,” Leo replies.
Sun has almost risen. The day has almost begun. Leo and Douglas sit and watch the world wake to another day.
“Kid? Is there reason you think that you’re not needed,” Douglas asks breaking the silence.
“I suppose recently it seems like Adam, Bree, and, Chase don’t want me around,” Leo replies bluntly.
Leo doesn’t always like to talk his own feeling to others, but he can only hold in his emotions for so long.
“I doubt that. Maybe they’re just busy.”
“Aren’t they always busy. Always off to save the world or off to some important thing. They’re so busy I don’t see them for weeks on end. When they are home, they are always training and saying ‘not now, Leo’.”
“Kid, I get that being forced to take a break from missions has been hard, but I doubt anyone is avoiding you.”
“The thing is that I know that. I get that Adam, Bree, and Chase are busy. I can’t even tell them that I wish they weren’t because, how would that sound? Hey, I wish you’d stop saving the world all the time so that we could spend more time together. What kind of brother or person would I be then?”
Douglas didn’t know what to say. He knew that someone else or anyone else would be equipped to handle this.
“There is nothing wrong with wanting to see your family more. I wish I saw those kids more too,” Douglas states.
“I guess we’re both out of their lives now days,” Leo states.
“I guess so, kid. I guess so.”
Both of men see that day has begun. People will soon wake and then, it would be time to start their own day.
“I guess we should head inside soon,” Douglas states.
“Yeah,” Leo replies.
__________________________________________
Once inside Leo and Douglas go their separate ways. The pair share an unusual, yet close bond. Both are often overlooked by their family, but still try to help and protect their family. Maybe, Leo and Douglas are two of kind.
Author’s Note: I’ve been wanting to write something with Douglas and Leo for awhile. They are a really fun duo. Anyways enjoy!

Check out our most recent NFL mock draft, right here

After a national title win, the Tigers have a chance to match the mythical Miami team from the 2004 draft.
Think back to the 2004 NFL Draft. Times were better then. We really loved Usher and Napoleon Dynamite, and the only overly tan politician that mattered was Arnold Schwarzenegger. And Facebook launched. Fine, maybe things were awful in 2004 too.
But that year something special happened on April 24. After the draft got off to an awkward start with Eli Manning and Philip Rivers, a record six Miami Hurricanes were then taken in the first round. Count them out: Sean Taylor, Kellen Winslow II, Jonathan Vilma, D.J. Williams, Vernon Carey, and Vince Wilfork.
Some thought that last year Alabama could tie Miami for the most first-round picks for one school in the draft. It didn’t happen. The Crimson Tide had just half that many in the first round, with Quinnen Williams, Jonah Williams, and Josh Jacobs all going in the first 32.
Miami’s record could be tied in the 2020 NFL Draft, though.
But not by Alabama.
Instead, it could be the Tide’s rivals at LSU. Following a whirlwind national title season, the Tigers are guaranteed to have the No. 1 pick with quarterback Joe Burrow. After that things get interesting with several defenders and a wide receiver. This week’s mock draft looks at how LSU could make history with six first-round picks:
1. Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Burrow, QB, LSU
Here’s your week in Joe Burrow: He was compared to Tom Brady. A giraffe was named after him. Heck, you can even buy a painting of Burrow puffing on a cigar on Etsy for the low, low price of $49.99. See you next week when Burrow is still the first pick for the Bengals and I have to come up with something to write about it.
2. Washington: Chase Young, DE, Ohio State
John Keim of ESPN floated the idea of Washington trading out of the second pick. It’s true, Washington could get a franchise-altering return for the No. 2 pick. But it’s also true Washington would be passing up a chance to take a game-changing pass rusher at a time where the position is more important than ever. Don’t be Washington, Washington.
3. Detroit Lions: Jeff Okudah, CB, Ohio State
As Jeremy Reisman of Pride of Detroit explains, the Lions have a lot of needs, and cornerback is arguably the top one. So although head coach Matt Patricia has a middle-out building philosophy on defense, the lean for the pick could be Okudah.
4. New York Giants: Jedrick Wills, OT, Alabama
It’s funny how a single game between two bad teams can have such a huge impact. New York and Washington played one of the most exciting games of the season in Week 16. It was a 41-35 overtime win for the Giants. It was also the Chase Young Bowl. The loser, Washington, gets Young. The winner, New York, picks whomever it decides is the top offensive tackle in the draft.
5. Miami Dolphins: Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama
Tagovailoa got good news recently after having hip surgery in the middle of November. While teams like Miami will poke and prod Tagovailoa plenty at the NFL Scouting Combine, this was a strong positive first step.
6. Los Angeles Chargers: Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon
As Geoff Schwartz explained recently, if Herbert is there for the Chargers with the sixth pick they should take him. Sure, general manager Tom Telesco might like his internal options like Tyrod Taylor, but no one on the Los Angeles roster is a potential franchise quarterback like Herbert.
7. Carolina Panthers: Derrick Brown, DT, Auburn
Choosing between Brown and Clemson’s Isaiah Simmons will be a difficult task for Carolina. Both are among the draft’s elite prospects and do very different things. The choice between them will be a philosophical one about team building.
8. Arizona Cardinals: Mekhi Becton, OT, Louisville
Many will argue that there’s little difference anymore between the value of a left tackle and a right tackle on an NFL roster. Still, there’s something to say about protecting the quarterback’s blind side. That’s why Becton could get the nod over Iowa’s Tristan Wirfs.
9. Jacksonville Jaguars: Isaiah Simmons, LB, Clemson
Following the stunning retirement of Telvin Smith last year, the Jaguars lost a degree of athleticism and playmaking ability on defense. Simmons could change that in a hurry. In a time when sub-packages on defense are the norm, Simmons would be a versatile asset who does just about everything well.
10. Cleveland Browns: Tristan Wirfs, OT, Iowa
Everyone knows the Browns need two offensive tackles this offseason. Greg Robinson was a disappointment last season at left tackle, and he’s a free agent. Right tackle Chris Hubbard has been ordinary since leaving Pittsburgh for Cleveland. The Browns should draft whoever they like most at tackle.
11. New York Jets: Andrew Thomas, OT, Georgia
The pick for the Jets in mock drafts is often a wide receiver. While it’s true the receiver situation in New York is dire, both of the team’s starting offensive tackles are free agents. Yikes. Although they could end up getting the fourth offensive tackle off the board, it doesn’t matter as much in a talent-rich draft for the position.
12. Las Vegas Raiders: Jerry Jeudy, WR, Alabama
That guy Jerry Jeudy, man, would be a perfect fit for the Raiders. This guy catches everything, man. I like to call this guy Marvin Harrison 2.0, man.
13. Indianapolis Colts: CeeDee Lamb, WR, Oklahoma
While the Colts could easily opt for a player like South Carolina defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw, the team could use another weapon for whoever plays quarterback. Maybe it’s Tom Brady. Maybe it’s Philip Rivers. Or even Jameis Winston.
14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Javon Kinlaw, DT, South Carolina
The Buccaneers may have led the NFL in run defense last season, but they could still use a player like Kinlaw in the middle of their defense. The first round is light on edge rushers, so Tampa Bay could go after Kinlaw to fill that need. Of course, that is assuming Kinlaw lasts this long. He should be a combine standout at the end of the month.
15. Denver Broncos: Henry Ruggs III, WR, Alabama
16. Atlanta Falcons: A.J. Epenesa, DE, Iowa
I’ve been stuck with these two for pick Nos. 15 and 16 in just about every mock draft. Some things just make too much sense. Try and talk me out of it in the comments.
17. Dallas Cowboys: Marlon Davidson, DL, Auburn
The ideal pick for the Cowboys is probably Kinlaw. They’ve needed a pressure-creating defensive tackle for several years. But if he goes a few picks before Dallas comes up, things will get interesting. This may seem early for Davidson — and it probably is — but never, ever forget that strange and unexpected things happen in the draft. Davidson is a unique player. He started four years at defensive end for Auburn and played standing up a lot last season. But at 280 pounds, he has some intrigue as a gap-shooting interior player.
18. Miami Dolphins (via Pittsburgh Steelers): Josh Jones, OT, Houston
Jones is another player who could be a combine riser thanks to his quick feet and athleticism. In any other year, he might be in contention for the top 10. But with so many tackles, Miami could snag a starter in the middle of the first round.
19. Las Vegas Raiders (via Chicago Bears): Kenneth Murray, LB, Oklahoma
I’ll spare you the terrible Jon Gruden impersonation with this pick. It’s been years since the Raiders have had an athletic, playmaking linebacker. The team is thin at the position going into the new league year, so Murray should be on its radar in the first round.
20. Jacksonville Jaguars: (via Los Angeles Rams): Kristian Fulton, CB, LSU
Following the trade of Jalen Ramsey, the Jaguars find themselves in need of a cornerback. A.J. Bouye is still a solid player, but he had just one interception last season. At No. 20, the Jaguars should have their pick of cornerbacks after Okudah. Maybe it’s Fulton, Florida’s CJ Henderson, or even Mississippi State’s Cameron Dantzler.
21. Philadelphia Eagles: Laviska Shenault Jr., WR, Colorado
Somehow, Carson Wentz managed to throw for 4,039 yards last season while his top wide receiver, Alshon Jeffery, had 490 yards. That’s kinda odd. And yes, the Eagles have arguably the best tight end duo in the NFL with Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert. And running back Miles Sanders is an effective pass catcher. But the addition of a player like Shenault could lead Wentz to going from a 4,000-yard passer to a 5,000-yard passer.
22. Buffalo Bills: Curtis Weaver, Edge, Boise State
Buffalo was already in need of a pass rusher before Lorenzo Alexander retired at the end of the season. In addition to the loss of Alexander, Shaq Lawson is a free agent. The Bills are desperate for pass-rushing help at this point. Weaver may not have a lot of sizzling speed as an edge player, but he was consistent at Boise State and knows how to use his hands to get off blocks. Buffalo can line him up on the edge, or even put him inside in nickel situations.
23. New England Patriots: K’Lavon Chaisson, Edge, LSU
Chaisson could be a nice fit for New England considering Jamie Collins and Kyle Van Noy are free agents. Bill Belichick could figure out how to utilize Chaisson best to replace one of those players.
24. New Orleans Saints: Jordan Love, QB, Utah State
This is another pick I’m stuck on. Don’t forget that not only is Drew Brees one of the oldest players in the NFL, but he’s not officially signed for the 2020 season. Plus, Teddy Bridgewater could leave this offseason.
25. Minnesota Vikings: CJ Henderson, CB, Florida
Even though it’s easy to argue for an offensive lineman for the Vikings, would Mike Zimmer ignore going after a cornerback? Since Zimmer became the head coach of the Vikings in 2014, the team has taken a cornerback in the first or second round three times. He’s addicted!
26. Miami Dolphins (via Houston Texans): Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama
Kevin Nogle of The Phinsider did a tremendous job recently of summing up all of Miami’s needs this offseason. Quarterback and offensive tackle are the obvious big two, and there are value fits in the first round. Cornerback is another high need for the Dolphins. Xavien Howard’s domestic violence charge was dropped, but the team could still be wary and look to move on. Cordrea Tankersley also has just a season left on his rookie deal. The time could be now to take a player like Diggs and coach up his skill set.
27. Seattle Seahawks: Terrell Lewis, Edge, Alabama
The defensive line for the Seahawks is a mess. Despite adding Ziggy Ansah and Jadeveon Clowney, the Seahawks were near the bottom of the NFL in sacks last season. If Clowney departs, Lewis could be his replacement. Because he played at Alabama and stood up at the edge, it’s easy to forget that Lewis is 6’5 and 252 pounds. That’s almost the exact same size as Clowney. While Lewis isn’t the athlete Clowney is, he could get used in similar ways. Hopefully, the production will come.
28. Baltimore Ravens: Tee Higgins, WR, Clemson
The Ravens have great tight ends in Mark Andrews and Hayden Hurst. They have speed receivers with Marquise Brown and Willie Snead IV. What they don’t have is a true outside wide receiver who can go up and get the ball. That’s Higgins’ game. He could be a fantasy star in Baltimore — and help the team to a Super Bowl.
29. Tennessee Titans: Julian Okwara, Edge, Notre Dame
The Titans badly need to find a pass rusher to run opposite Harold Landry. Head coach Mike Vrabel is able to scheme sacks with his defensive line, and squeezed seven sacks last season out of Kamalei Correa, including the playoffs. Imagine what he could do with a speedy, 6’5 pass rusher like Okwara.
30. Green Bay Packers: Justin Jefferson, WR, LSU
This is another pick I remain bullish on. Jefferson really emerged in the LSU offense last season with 1,540 yards and 18 touchdowns. There’s no question that he’d be able to help a dull Packers passing offense.
31. San Francisco 49ers: Grant Delpit, S, LSU
With Jimmie Ward entering free agency, the 49ers could replace him with Delpit to maintain the rest of the depth on the roster. Delpit could slide back this far due to concerns about his tackling ability. But he’s a playmaker in the secondary and has special tools.
32. Kansas City Chiefs: Patrick Queen, LB, LSU
A third straight LSU player to close out the first round, with the quick Queen being an excellent option for the Super Bowl champions. The LSU program has become a linebacker factory with players like Kwon Alexander, Deion Jones, and Devin White all coming from the school in the last five years. Queen was only a starter for one full season, but he has the type of talent teams want in the modern NFL linebacker.

Here’s our latest NFL mock draft after the College Football Playoff

Joe Burrow and Tua Tagovailoa will likely be the first two QBs drafted in 2020.
Here’s how the draft could play out if there are injury concerns about Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
In this week’s 2020 NFL mock draft, we’re going to jump through some hoops to see where it makes sense for teams regarding Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
After Tagovailoa officially declared for the draft, one report said he got positive news following a serious hip injury that ended his season.
One reason #Bama QB Tua Tagovailoa declared for the NFL Draft: I’m told his visit to NY to get an update on his medical situation was all positive. He has more tests at 12 and 16 weeks, but he got a solid before saying he was NFL bound.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) January 6, 2020
But it’s one thing to get a clean bill of health from your own doctor, and it’s another to get it from NFL teams. It’s possible that some teams are scared off by Tagovailoa’s extensive injury history.
If, for some reason, Tagovailoa falls, here’s a look at how the first round could play out.
1. Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Burrow, QB, LSU
Look, we know that the Bengals are going to take Burrow with the first overall pick. But even after his huge performance in the national championship game, he’s not without risk. Before passing game coordinator Joe Brady arrived at LSU this season, Burrow only completed less than 60 percent of his passes. With Brady this season, that number was nearly 78 percent. Burrow’s skills are impressive, but the Bengals will have to make sure he’s not a product of the LSU offense. It’s also worth noting that Burrow is slightly older than Lamar Jackson of the Ravens. That’s less of an issue, but age sometimes factors in.
2. Washington: Chase Young, DE, Ohio State
While there may be some questions about Burrow, and plenty of other players in the draft, there are very few questions about Young. While no prospect is flawless, Young is as close as it gets. A front line of Young, Montez Sweat, Da’Ron Payne and Jonathan Allen is scary.
3. Detroit Lions: Derrick Brown, DT, Auburn
Let the comparisons begin between Brown and Ndamukong Suh, whom the Lions picked second overall in 2010. Like Suh, Brown brings ferocity to the defensive line and the ability to disrupt the pocket.
4. New York Giants: Isaiah Simmons, LB, Clemson
Pick a position for Simmons and it would stick, whether it is linebacker, safety, or even pass rusher. No matter what Simmons is asked to do, he does it well. Simmons’ versatility will ease the transition for new defensive coordinator Patrick Graham.
5. Miami Dolphins: Andrew Thomas, OT, Georgia
If the Dolphins somehow don’t end up with Tagovailoa, they should have their first choice of offensive tackles. Thomas is a very good left tackle prospect with athleticism and quick feet. The Dolphins have to build the offensive line this offseason, and they could start in earnest at No. 5.
6. Los Angeles Chargers: Jedrick Wills, OT, Alabama
Los Angeles is another team in contention for Tagovailoa. If Philip Rivers leaves, the Chargers could turn to another veteran quarterback in the short term. Maybe that wild Tom Brady scenario your co-worker talked about comes true. Or maybe they take a chance on Jameis Winston or Marcus Mariota and hope they’re the Los Angeles version of Ryan Tannehill. The Chargers have needed a right tackle for several years, and Wills should be good from day one in the NFL.
7. Carolina Panthers: Jeff Okudah, CB, Ohio State
Like the Chargers, the Panthers are another team that could reasonably need a quarterback like Tagovailoa. But again, let’s assume Carolina keeps Cam Newton or adds a veteran passer. Maybe this is where Rivers ends up. If he does, the Panthers can wait a year and continue developing Will Grier. On the defense, cornerback James Bradberry is a free agent, and the Panthers could find an upgrade with Okudah, one of the elite players in the draft.
8. Arizona Cardinals: Tristan Wirfs, OT, Iowa
The Cardinals are a team that, without question, doesn’t need Tagovailoa after picking Kyler Murray first overall last year. It’s impossible to ignore Arizona’s need to keep Murray protected going forward, though. Coming out of Iowa, Wirfs is a blocker who plays the game the right way and could work on either side in Arizona.
9. Jacksonville Jaguars: Javon Kinlaw, DT, South Carolina
Jacksonville makes a lot of sense for Tagovailoa if Minshew Mania didn’t run wild over you, brother. But if a team with the fifth pick is concerned about him, a team with the ninth pick could be too.
Kinlaw is going to be a popular name leading up to the draft. There aren’t too many interior defensive linemen in the NFL with his skillset at 6’6 and a lean-looking 300 pounds. If the top three offensive tackles are gone, the Jaguars could take yet another defender.
10. Cleveland Browns: Grant Delpit, S, LSU
Questions about Baker Mayfield might be creeping up after his disappointing second season, but even for the Browns this would be too soon to push him out for Tagovailoa. The Browns showed this season that they badly need a versatile, difference-making safety. When he’s healthy, Delpit can be that player.
11. New York Jets: Jerry Jeudy, WR, Alabama
The Jets are obviously another team that won’t be taking a quarterback in the first round after selecting Sam Darnold in 2018. The catch with Darnold is that his receivers aren’t good. Jeudy would give the Jets a lead target for their budding quarterback.
12. Las Vegas Raiders: Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama
We could have our winner for the Tagovailoa sweepstakes with the Raiders for a few reasons. David Carr has been an average quarterback during his career and could get replaced. The Raiders are also moving to Las Vegas and new fans could rally around a rookie quarterback. Most importantly, the Raiders have two first-round picks thanks to the Khalil Mack trade. That means there is some risk aversion to taking Tagovailoa for the Raiders. It could also mean the Raiders can make an attractive offer if they wanted to move up.
13. Indianapolis Colts: CeeDee Lamb, WR, Oklahoma
The Colts are a team that will need to at least kick the tires on Tagovailoa if they think he’ll drop. Jacoby Brissett was up-and-down this season, and the Colts may be looking for a franchise signal caller. Whomever is making the throws for Indianapolis needs someone besides T.Y. Hilton to catch the ball. Lamb has that big-play ability.
14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon
This is a repeat from a previous mock, but pairing Herbert with Bruce Arians is too fun to ignore.
15. Denver Broncos: Henry Ruggs III, WR, Alabama
The Broncos should go all-in with Drew Lock next season, and a receiver like Ruggs can give him a deep target on the outside.
16. Atlanta Falcons: A.J. Epenesa, DE, Iowa
Some people think Epenesa will be a top-10 pick, but he could land in this range because he’s not a speed rushing defensive end. Instead, he’s a do-everything type of end that the Falcons need.
17. Dallas Cowboys: Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama
What happens to free agent defensive back Byron Jones will define what the Cowboys do in the draft. If he leaves, the Cowboys could find another big cornerback in Diggs.
18. Miami Dolphins (via Pittsburgh Steelers): Yetur Gross-Matos, DE, Penn State
If the Dolphins punt on taking Tagovailoa, there’s no reason to tdraft someone like Utah State quarterback Jordan Love in the first round. At that point, you may as well wait on a 2021 class that should have Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence and Ohio State’s Justin Fields in it. Gross-Matos is a player who can line up all over the defense and pressure the quarterback.
19. Las Vegas Raiders (via Chicago Bears): Laviska Shenault, WR, Colorado
It was easy overlook Shenault this season. His 2019 wasn’t statistically as good as his 2018, and Colorado struggled through a 5-7 season. But Shenault is still a highly regarded draft prospect for his combination of size, hands, and ability to get open. With the right quarterback, he can be a star in the NFL.
20. Jacksonville Jaguars: (via Los Angeles Rams): Kenneth Murray, LB, Oklahoma
Murray is a rangy linebacker with an impressive combination of athleticism and tenacity. Pairing him with Myles Jack would give Jacksonville a new duo of quality linebackers who can roam the field and make big tackles.
21. Philadelphia Eagles: Tee Higgins, WR, Clemson
Higgins may have only had three receptions in Monday night’s national title game, but he still profiles as a No. 1 receiver option in the NFL. As the season wore on, it was obvious that the Eagles need weapons on offense. A receiver like Higgins should be the first of a few added in this draft.
22. Buffalo Bills: Terrell Lewis, OLB, Alabama
If Lewis checks out fine with his medical evaluations, he has a strong chance of going in the top 32. With Lorenzo Alexander’s retirement, the Bills can find his replacement in the versatile Lewis.
23. New England Patriots: K’Lavon Chaisson, OLB/DE, LSU
If the Patriots don’t like the wide receiver options in the first round, they could turn to the defense. Kyle Van Noy and Jamie Collins are free agents, and the Patriots could lose both. Chaisson would need to be developed, but he’s an effective pass rusher with a good first step.
24. New Orleans Saints: Jordan Love, QB, Utah State
Love is going to be the single most fascinating player to follow through the draft process and to watch for in the first round. He’s polarizing because his stats are poor, but so were Daniel Jones’. Love can be molded under Drew Brees before becoming the Saints’ quarterback of the future.
25. Minnesota Vikings: Josh Jones, OT, Houston
It was obvious in Minnesota’s playoff loss to the 49ers that the offensive line play has to get better for the Vikings. Jones fits in the scheme Gary Kubiak and Rick Dennison use in Minnesota because he’s athletic and moves around smoothly.
26. Miami Dolphins (via Houston Texans): D’Andre Swift, RB, Georgia
If the 2020 draft is truly the one where Miami doesn’t take a quarterback, having good options on offense for 2021 is going to be key. Miami already has a solid group of wide receivers, but it needs a legitimate lead running back. Swift is arguably the best running back in the draft with his vision and pass-catching skills.
27. Seattle Seahawks: Julian Okwara, OLB/DE, Notre Dame
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll admitted after being knocked out of the playoffs that the team has to be better on defense. Okwara is raw, but he has high potential as a pass rusher.
28. Baltimore Ravens: Zack Baun, LB, Wisconsin
A few holes were exposed in the Ravens’ playoff loss to the Tennessee Titans. Namely, Baltimore has to get better along the defensive line and at linebacker. Baun gets up the field in a hurry and can be used rushing the passer or playing the run.
29. Tennessee Titans: Curtis Weaver, DE/OLB, Boise State
Tennessee is making a dream run through the playoffs despite clearly needing help at pass rusher. Weaver isn’t a favorite of everyone, but I like his ability to user power against blockers and get up the field.
30. Green Bay Packers: K.J. Hamler, WR, Penn State
After Davante Adams, the Packers have rotated No. 2 receivers all season. A player like Hamler can stop that rotation. He’s not a big receiver, but he offers a dynamic element to an offense.
31. Kansas City Chiefs: Kristian Fulton, CB, LSU
With star freshman Derek Stingley Jr. opposite him, Fulton got picked on at times this season. But the junior held his own and showed off his man coverage skills and ability to read routes. With Bashaud Breeland, Morris Claiborne and Kendall Fuller all free agents, the Chiefs may have a need in the secondary.
32. San Francisco 49ers: Austin Jackson, OT, USC
Joe Staley’s stellar career is winding down, and the 49ers could find his long-term replacement in this draft. That could be Jackson, who could slot directly into the left tackle spot.
