I know people have commented on how weird it is that Phoenix dropped the "You can call me daddy" speech on Trucy so soon after they'd only discussed adoption but the fact that she started doing exactly that just as immediately tells me that they are the same kind of unhinged.

They both become attached to people so quickly they can't help themselves. Must be the abandonment issues.

Jasmine had a huge crush on Marie in hs. They fell out after because that's just how it be but remember nobody is as big a fan of Marie as Jasmine was. BELIEBE THAT

I've seen headcanons of Phoenix Wright having heterochromia; either due to him being born with it or due to head trauma via fire extinguisher in AA2. They often come with headcanons of why he'd hide them with colored contacts, of course.

But I haven't heard anyone bring up the headcanon of Phoenix's eye turning blue because of Dahlia's bottle pendant.

First off, the poison Dahlia used had possible side effects including loss of pigmentation and eye damage. This is evident in Diego Armando's hair turning white and vision problems.

Fun fact: blue eyes aren't caused by blue pigmentation. In fact, they have little to no pigmentation at all. The blue we see is just light reflecting weirdly until only blue light is all we perceive from them.

Secondly, the poisoned pendant Phoenix ate in Turnabout Memories was empty at the time, but the risk of it containing leftover traces was very real. He even chewed it, raising the chances of those traces entering his system.

Diego had a significantly higher dose than Phoenix, but let's not forget Dahlia had faith that 1 contaminated pill of Cold Killer X would do the trick. Even if there was less than a drop remaining in that bottle, it had the potential to at least do some damage.

Damage that could result in the loss of pigmentation in someone's eyes.

As much as Phoenix using Maya/Mia to get information out of Victor Kudo during Recipe for Turnabout makes me uncomfortable because he basically blindsided her with a situation in which her being ogled was literally the whole point (even if he didn't foresee it not working and Maya deciding to channel her sister as a result), I can't help but be fascinated by Mia's whole behavior in that scene and how it reminds me of Dahlia. The fact that they both hide that they'd really rather not be there with a polite smile and take full advantage of their femininity to nullify the potential threat of men and get what they want from them? It can't be a coincidence—it's gotta be a deliberate parallel on the part of the writers because there's simply no way they weren't highlighting that Mia and Dahlia can't wash away the similarity of their mannerisms despite the fact they're mortal (immortal?) enemies. There's no way they weren't using this to slyly foreshadow the fact that they're related do you guys SEE MY VISION

I am so not normal about Ruze's cover of I Am All of Me. I am actively counting down the days until Sonic 3 and I went so insane when I saw his cover. Out of all of the vtubers that I've watched, Ruze definitely has one of the best voices that I've ever heard and I need to hear him sing more!

*slides across a piano speaking into a corded microphone* if Capcom weren't such cowards, we'd get a dramatic post-7-year-gap reunion between Phoenix and Iris where, after Iris tells him that she thought the reason he hadn't come to see her in so long was because he wanted her out of his life, Phoenix tells her no and admits that the real reason was because he was ashamed of the person he had become (for all the lying and the scheming and the forgery, you get it), and he didn't want her to see him like that, and Iris looks at him and all the people around him and how he's looked after them and Trucy, and to an extent Pearly, after all this time, in spite of everything, and she touches his face and says that that was silly of him because she has always known that he is good and kind and strong and that he is, and has always been, the person she thought he was, and do you get it!!! do you get it!!!! thank you *I get off the piano and my legs get tangled in the cord and I fall over and cry*

you would think i would’ve been more into the original ace attorney trilogy. it’s beloved by so many people that overlap with a lot of games i got way more obsessed with, and there’s a lot about them i really did like. but i don’t know, it’s hard when i look back at all three of those games and sort of feel like they’re defined by one really good case and then a bunch of filler cases that i don’t care about.

that said bridge to the turnabout is incredible and is probably one of the best things i’ve seen in a visual novel. it brings all the games together and is one of the most enticing mysteries i’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing. when i think of the original ace attorney trilogy it all feels like it circles back to bridge to the turnabout because it feels so obviously like THE ace attorney case.

 also i’ve been trying to put this into words for weeks so i’m just gonna do it in full rambly mode … freya’s dedication to her family is about more than just the love she has for them ( though she does love them dearly ). it’s about her as much as it’s about them. it’s about the fact she was taken away from everyone and raised by a lunatic, deprived of any love or kindness any human contact really. she was all alone for so long and, once she finds her siblings, she would quite literally rather die than to be alone again; she would rather everyone else die too. for her, it’s not even a question. once she cares about you, there’s very little you can do that she wouldn’t forgive cause then she’d lose you. and yeah, she is willing to work herself to almost death to but that too makes her feel needed – and she needs to feel needed because if she’s needed, she won’t be given away or rejected. again.

and the thing is, that need to belong? it’s not just about her siblings. once she makes her little family with keelin and vincent, she’d 1000% go to the same length for them as she would elijah or rebekah ( even if vincent would most likely hate her for it. rip ). and if she was never reunited with her siblings, she would find another person or a group to love and protect and dedicate herself to because that’s something she needs to have. for herself. she doesn’t know how to live for herself. she doesn’t have the will.
