Juliet Appreciation Week: Jan 27th- Haunted Not very on theme this time sorry! This is a drawing I did while on holiday last week, with Crowley and his pack replacing myself observing a really beautiful area.

Some fun facts: - This list is not quite in order of when the first usages of these names appeared, but it's pretty close. - Assuming I caught everything and did the math correctly, Trent's daughter has been mentioned by name in 192 fics! Well, it seems we're not getting a canon name! I guess she's our daughter now. I haven't decided whether I'm going to maintain this list going forward (though for my own sanity I'm leaning towards no) but at least it's fully up to date as of 7:30 pm est today (May 31, 2023).

Some "final" statistics: The numbers aren’t perfect, because there were a few names I grouped together and probably should have counted separately, and a few names I counted separately and probably should have grouped together, and those may or may not have balanced out, but keeping that in mind, about 110 names were used! About 49 were used in multiple fics (including individual installments in several series) and about 35 of those were used by multiple authors. Trent’s daughter has been mentioned by name in about 298 fics by 149 authors. This includes works in which she’s mentioned but doesn’t show up as a character, but doesn’t account for works in which her existence is mentioned but not by name. The Palace announced today that Her Royal Highness The Crown Princess will go on a 3-day visit to Simdia in the Spring. 

The upcoming visit is conducted at the request of the government. More information regarding the visit will be released to the public soon.

The visit will be The Crown Princess’ first official trip to Simdia. The upcoming trip will be the first time in over twenty years that a member of the Brindleton Royal Family will visit the southern state. The first Brindleton Royals to visit were the late King Leopold and Queen Ophelia. Queen Emilia and Princes Jacques also had a quick tour of the country as newlyweds some years ago.

Lucrezia In Labor

Early this morning, cameras caught an interesting sight when the entire residency of Darkwing House filed out into the courtyard in their pajamas, around 3:30 in the morning.

Photos were taken of the pregnant Princess Lucrezia being escorted out of Darkwing House by her cousin, Crown Princess Ophelia, her sister, Princess Emilia, and the Crown Princess' personal secretary, Miss Audrey Chapell.

Princess Lucrezia seemed to be in pain, leaning on her cousin for support several times on the journey to the car, while Princess Emilia was seen frantically calling several people.

Photographers captured this intense moment and reported a cause for concern, until reports started filing in that the Princess had been admitted to Britechester Memorial Hospital's Labor and Delivery wing. Her husband, Duke Leo, is currently stationed in San Myshuno with his military regiment, and has been reported to be unable to make it to the hospital at this time.

With no Duke Leo in sight, does this mean the future heir to the Tirabassi estate in on the way? Stay tuned to find out!

I like to call them the thrio because - listen I was in highschool and I needed a nickname because saying their names all the times was annoying when referring to all of them, so thrio it is. Adrien almost was a girl, but I decided to make him a guy because I wanted to practice drawing guys more :') they're in love they live together and they're my go-to for cute romantic shit that's actually for real romantic (as opposed to Meri and Cilia who are just roommates being roommates)

- Laë is cheerful, positive and energetic. Her laugh is loud, her smiles are blinding, and you can tell when she's invested in something. She claps at the happy moments in movies and she will get you to dance with her at a party at least once.

- Alex is quiet, a bit shy and focused. He seems cold from an outside perspective, but he just doesn't go towards people easily. He has trouble trying out new things but he likes having clear goals to strive for. He's a good cook and doodles flowers when he has the time.

- Adrien is kind, caring and a stable presence. He's the one who brings a bag with a water bottle, snacks, band-aids, tissues, a charger and a pen and paper when going out. He's very chill, knows all his friends' favourite pastries, and there's always space in his cargo pants if your pockets are too small.

- They all have a colour that's "theirs" (as do all of my OCs on some level) : Laë is pink, Alex is blue like his hair, and Adrien is orange.

- When I said I designed them together I wasn't kidding, they match in lots of silly little ways: Laë is more "sun themed" and wears more gold, Alex more moon themed and wears silver, and Adrien is star themed and has more copper tones. Heights as well, Laë is smaller (5'2), Adrien is - also small but in the middle (5'6), and Alex is the tall one (6'2)

- Alex and Laë are childhood friends, they were neighbours as kids and started dating in high school. They met Adrien at uni.

- I do have a few HCs about like, their intimacy, but tbh that's not the most fun aspect. I'm more of a soft domesticity, cuddle pile on the bed person myself so that's the kind of situations I put them in.

- Laë likes to steal Adrien's tops because cute oversized boyfriend shirts, and since Alex does it too sometimes he has a big collection, because otherwise he wouldn't have enough for all of them. They also share jewellery, and Laë does her boyfriends' nails sometimes.

- They're all bi <3

- Alex has a big family (he's the guy whose uncle knows Meredith's mentor), his older sister Emilia has a toddler and there's another sibling but I haven't thought about them yet lol. Adrien is an only child and his parents suck, and Laëlia has a little sister, Ophelia, whom she loves dearly.

- Alex's full name is Alexander Nero, which is bad but he's not the one who got it the worst out of all my OCs so it's fine. His siblings also have greco-roman themed names, I just gotta figure them out lol.

- My favourite soulmate AUs for them are either matching tattoos or "everything I write on my skin appears on theirs", but I don't think about those too much because well, aro. I do have HCs for both those AUs because that would be fun though

Four’s a Crowd Part 3 (Burton-Schumacherverse Riddlebird, trans!Oswald)

Part 2

Batman stealthily lowered himself to the floor after crawling into the window of Cobblepot Manor. He needed some information and this was his last resort. Listening for any signs of the criminal couple, Batman quietly made his way down the stairs. He was about to continue down the hall but he felt something suddenly weighing his cape down.

 He turned around to see one of Ed and Oswald’s twin daughters had jumped on it, the other one was walking over. Batman had almost forgotten they had kids. It had been almost five years since Oswald had outed himself when the existence of the girls became public as he didn’t want to be accused of stealing them from somewhere which happened anyways. There’d also been many attempts to get the children taken away, all unsuccessful of course. Oswald figured the commoners were jealous that his freakish family was happier than their failed family units clinging desperately to pointless normalcy. These days the reluctant acceptance that Ed and Oswald were actually good parents was making the push to separate them from their children die down. Batman froze for a second, usually he was good with kids but these ones sort of freaked him out considering they were a perfect blend of two of his adversaries. He studied the tiny girls, bright ginger hair clashing against their pale skin that made them look like porcelain dolls. They both had Oswald’s dark eyes, the area around them slightly red. They looked weirdly cute with their matching frilly nightgowns and pacifiers, even with the beak like noses and flippers. “Uh...hi.” Batman said awkwardly. He recalled the twins’ names were Ophelia and Emilia though he didn’t know which was which. “Could you..get off my cape please?” He asked. Ophelia shook her head. Batman’s shoulders dropped, of course no child of the penguin and the riddler would comply. Emilia and grabbed one of the corners of the cape and Ophelia got up only to copy her. Batman had no choice but to follow as both of them started pulling him down the hall.

They silently lead him to Oswald’s office where Ed was been sitting on the shorter man’s desk, they’d obviously been flirting with eachother before the door opened. Ed was more concerned with the kids being out of bed than the presence of Batman. They’d inherited his insomnia but he appreciated when they were at least pretending to sleep. “Why are you up, my little chicks?” Oswald asked, ignoring Batman for the moment. Both girls pointed at Batman “Intruder, papa.” They said in unison, speech altered by the pacifiers still in their mouths. Their tiny sweet voices freaked Batman out as well, he couldn’t stop thinking of how much they looked like creepy dolls especially considering they were small even for their young age...and yet they looked at Batman as if they towered over him. “I can see that...what do you want, bats?” Oswald asked. It took a moment for Batman to answer as he watched Ophelia and Emilia toddle over to their fathers, Emilia being picked up by Ed and Ophelia crawling into Oswald’s lap. The sight was strangely cute which made Batman uncomfortable. He cleared his throat “Selina and I..had sort of an argument and I can’t find her. I thought..maybe you two might know where she is?” Batman had already asked all the other rogues to no avail. “Maybe we could give you some advice on maintaining a healthy relationship while you’re here.” Oswald growled. How was he still threatening with a little one cuddled against him?? Ed was about to answer Batman’s question when he was interrupted by Emilia who begrudgingly took her pacifier out before she whispered to him “Don’t tell him, daddy, he made aunt Selina cry.” She was glaring at the bat as she placed the pacifier back into her mouth. “I know, sweetheart, but they should have a chance to make up.” Ed whispered back. Selina and the twins had gotten close after Oswald and Ed had asked her to babysit a few times. Batman felt guilt rise up in him, he hadn’t meant to push Selina away like he’d been doing. “I’ll apologize as soon as I see her.” He offered, he couldn’t believe he was negotiating with a child. The twins squirmed out of their fathers’ laps and came back over to Batman, gesturing for him to kneel. He did so, moving down to one knee to be more at their level. “You have to pinkie promise to be nice to her.” Ophelia demanded. Batman tilted his head, a bit confused. Emilia huffed “We know we don’t have pinkies, dummy, just pretend.” Batman offered his pinkies and both girls wrapped the wider part of their flippers around them “I promise to be nice to Selina.” He said. “She’s in one of the guest rooms.” Ed informed the bat. Before he could go to lead the masked vigilante the twins had taken him by the cape to pull him again “Thanks.” He said awkwardly to Ed and Oswald before being dragged out of the room. There was a few moments of silence before Ed heard Oswald sniffling and realized the other man’s eyes were glistening with tears. “Ozzie?” Ed asked with concern. “Look at them..already pushing the bat around..I’m so proud.” Oswald admitted, wiping his eyes. “Oh, you big softie.” Ed giggled, hugging the other man.

Staged Photography?

  -- Il festival Fotografia Europea, che si svolge ogni anno fra aprile e giugno a Reggio Emilia, è uno degli eventi imperdibili per l'amatore che voglia tenere aggiornata la propria cultura. La Fondazione Palazzo Magnani, per assicurare quanto meno un minimo di continuità nell'anno in corso dopo l'interruzione forzata, in questi ultimi tre mesi offre due mostre. La più rilevante viene proposta come "la prima mostra in Italia dedicata al fenomeno della staged photography, tendenza che, a partire dagli anni Ottanta, ha rivoluzionato il linguaggio fotografico e la collocazione della fotografia nell’ambito delle arti contemporanee ", con la presenza di autori di grande notorietà, come Jeff Wall, Cindy Sherman, Sandy Skoglund, Joan Fontcuberta e la star mondiale David La Chapelle.

Qualcuno che ha almeno una infarinatura sulla storia e le tradizioni della fotografia, potrebbe rimanere interdetto al sentir definire "rivoluzionaria" una "tendenza" della fotografia che viene denominata staged. Quel termine si addice, ed è stato spesso applicato, a un modo di fotografare in uso fin dai primi decenni della fotografia artistica come di quella commerciale, senza mancare in quella amatoriale.

Per quanto riguarda l'attualità, appare perfettamente legittimata quella fotografa nordamericana di provincia (Leesburg, Virginia) che titola "Staged Photography" la propria attività e il relativo sito Facebook, nel quale così si propone per foto di famiglia e simili: " Staged is a combination of on location natural light and in studio photography. È l'incontro fra un fotografo esperto e un artista rifinito che si specializza nella progettazione di scenografie impareggiabili. Chiamatelo un combinato di menti artistiche. Siamo specializzati in immagini di: Maternità. Neonati, Bimbi, Gruppi, Giovani e Famiglie. Siamo entusiasti della nostra capacità di offrire ai clienti non solo foto mozzafiato dei loro bimbi e delle loro famiglie, ma anche scenografie uniche e magistralmente eseguite".

Quanto poi all'aspetto "rivoluzionario" dello staging nell'attuale fotografia d'autore, a quel qualcuno di cui sopra il binomio "staged photography" richiama inevitabilmente i tableaux vivants nati ai primi albori della fotografia: cioè quelle composizioni fotografiche che pretendevano di sfidare ad alto livello artistico la pittura. Memorabili sono il paradigmatico The Two Ways of Life di Oscar Gustave Rejlender, montaggio di ben 32 pose fotografiche, 1857; o Fading away di Henry Peach Robinson, 1858, con "sole" cinque pose.

Quei Tableux Vivants fotografici, che spesso si ispiravano a opere pittoriche famose, sono da molti ritenuti come le radici della Pictorial Photography, che imperversò fino alla prima guerra mondiale e un po' oltre. E allora quel signore di cui sopra, usando uno zoom adatto a inquadrare bene ogni tappa della storia della fotografia, non avrà dubbi a vedere in un certo settore della Staged Photography un diretto pronipote di quei tableaux, pronipote tutt'altro che rivoluzionario pur se disconosce l'antenato. E a ritenerlo semplicemente un revival messo in moto dall'avvento della fotografia digitale e della sua elaborazione informatica, che hanno aggiornato tecnicamente e facilitato materialmente quelle operazioni che nell'era analogica nessuno aveva più la pazienza di fare, e che da decenni venivano considerate con sufficienza se non con disgusto.

Almeno due fra gli autori presenti a Reggio Emilia possono essere considerati discendenti dei pionieri dell'800, a cominciare dall'approccio fattuale per finire con i temi assunti. L'esempio più calzante è certamente l'Ophelia (2018) dell'inglese Julia Fullerton Batte, un rifacimento testuale del dipinto (1851) del preraffaellita John Everett Millais, già oggetto di attenzione di molti fotografi "ri-creativi" antichi e moderni. A prescindere dalla presunta rivoluzione, all'opera di Julia Fullerton si deve riconoscere, rispetto a tante altre, un fascino quasi pari a quello della pittura originale.

Con uno spirito totalmente diverso, una volontaria apoteosi del kitsch, irriverente e dissacrante,  David LaChapelle ha messo mano alla propria revisione dell'Ultima Cena di Leonardo, degli affreschi di Michelangelo nella Cappella Sistina e di molti altre opere pittoriche famose.

I capolavori della pittura divenuti le vittime più frequenti degli stagers sono probabilmente le scene di interni dipinte da Vermeer, caricaturate volontariamente ma soprattutto involontariamente da miriadi di velleitari "artisti rivoluzionari" che evidentemente del pittore olandese non hanno capito nulla o non vogliono avere nessun rispetto (e qui sta la "rivoluzione"!).

Già gli esempi sopra citati bastano a suggerire che il termine staged photography, che letteralmente nella nostra lingua dovrebbe diventare "fotografia messa in scena", possa coprire tutto quello che non è una  "istantanea" presa al volo: dai tableaux vivants fino ai gruppi e ai singoli in posa. Tutti noi che abbiamo frequentato la scuola dell'obbligo in tempi meno schizzinosi riguardo alla privacy conserviamo in qualche cassetto l'immagine della classe ben distribuita sulla scalinata d'ingresso, coll'insegnante in centro o a lato; molti di noi anche quella della Prima Comunione nostra, del figlio o del nipotino, ciascuno in posa molto pia. Perché, sì, anche il ritrattino d'una persona "in posa" rispetta le premesse di una staged photography.

Fino alla metà dell'ultimo secolo del millennio scorso, nel linguaggio comune esistevano due modi di ripresa dei soggetti fotografici che includono persone: la "istantanea" catturata al volo, e la "posa". Il secondo, non necessariamente legato a maggiori tempi di esposizione, era quello in cui i soggetti si mettevano o venivano messi “in posa”; gli amatori, se abbastanza abbienti da permettersi un apparecchio con autoscatto e un cavalletto, con una corsetta durante il tempo morto tra la pressione sul pulsante di scatto e l'azione del diaframma o della tendina, riuscivano ad includere se stessi nell'immagine fotografata (in pratica, facevano un selfie - vi immaginate qualche politico attuale fare i selfie con in suoi fans se non esistesse lo smartphone?).

Messe in scena, cioè staged, sono anche le fotografie di studio, e in particolare quelle di moda, fra cui compaiono immagini prodotte da veri maestri della fotografia (Figura 5). E nascono staged anche le Stage photos, ossia le "foto di scena" del teatro, del balletto e del cinema, dove stage viene dal termine inglese per palcoscenico. E dall'insieme non dovremmo escludere neppure le fotografie di oggetti inanimati meticolosamente "messi in posa", come quelle immagini impropriamente chiamate nella nostra lingua "nature morte". e nei paesi anglosassoni still photography, fotografia "immobile" [2].  Ma questi tre generi fotografici sono ufficialmente esclusi dalla Staged Photography dei "rivoluzionari" [3]. A meno che non siano, per esempio, scene storiche composte con pupazzetti di plastica e altri oggetti (come nella seguente immagine.

La vera rivoluzione nella fotografia è l'avvento del digitale, che ha aggiornato tecnicamente e facilitato tutte le operazioni che fino a per un secolo e mezzo avevano richiesto abilità, tempo e pazienza, soprattutto quando allo staging doveva seguire una ricomposizione delle immagini (quella che una volta si chiamava "fotomontaggio"). Tutte le altre presunte rivoluzioni non sono che fasi dell'adattamento dell'arte al mutevole spirito dei tempi, nel bene e nel male. Adattamento attivato nei secoli soprattutto dai progressi tecnici: la pittura ad olio... la stampa.. .la fotografia... la computerizzazione digitale...[4].

E allora converrebbe assegnare al "fenomeno" oggetto di questi commenti, o piuttosto a ciascuna delle sue differenti anime (presenti solo in parte nella mostra di Reggio Emilia) una denominazione diversa, più appropriata, meno generica ed equivoca, facendo riferimento a quanto è stato scritto dai vari autori che si sono impegnati ad anatomizzare l’opera d’arte nell’epoca della sua riproducibilità e della creazione digitale [5], (alcuni dei quali, come Jeff Wall e Joan Fontcuberta, sono stati tradotti in italiano). Si dovrebbe riparlarne. Per il momento, può bastare un generico "fotografia messa in scena", come da vocabolario, abbastanza discriminante rispetto alla semplice "foto in posa"? [6].

I smiled at mother. She looked so beautiful to me. Her brown eyes looked down at me and her blonde curlys bounced as she spoke. "Sweetheart! Are you ready to leave?" She asked me.

I smiled while I bounced up and down. She took my hand in her warm one. My father and mother got into the car with me. Soon we were at the park and I was on the playground.

I turned when I heard laughing. The laughing wasn't normal. It was evil and sinful. Screams were heard after this laugh and I saw my mom running towards me.

A clown looking man came right after my mother and stabbed her. Crimson red liquid leaked from her chest. I screamed and the clown laughed while his green hair blew in the wind.

"Puddin!!" I heard a woman call in a sing song voice. The man turned and I saw my father in the women's arm. He had scars all over himself. "HELP!!!!" I screamed before the man grabbed me by my hair.

He fiddled with his knife and I saw a flash of red and yellow. The light took away the bad guys and I ran to my mother. "Mommy!!!" I screamed and held her in my arms.

A guy with a pole came towards me and sighed. "Aw fuck…." I looked towards my dad. "Daddy! Wake up I learned that trick you taught me!" I stood up and did a somersault. Now the whole Justice League was standing in front of me.

All looked guilty as they saw the dead bodies of my parents lay on the ground. 

"Hey sweetie…" I felt a hand on my shoulder and I turned to see Wonder Woman. "My mommy is your biggest fan!" I said and the woman bit her lip.

"Do you want to come with me? Your parents are going to sleep for a while…" She whispered and I nodded eagerly. "But let me grab teddy!" I grabbed a white teddy bear and walked with Wonder Woman to her vehicle.

~Le Time Skip At Their Hide Out~

The league was in the kitchen while The Flash was playing dolls with me. 

He was pulled into the kitchen and I just kept playing with the dolls. He came out soon after with the League. He knelt down beside me and smiled.

"Hey there… Do you wanna stay with me?" He rubbed my back as I agreed. "But what about Momma? She will be worried!" I said and the league sighed. "Don't worry we talked with her.." Said Batman and he walked away.

Barry picked me up and speed home.

A woman with darker skin opened the door. She smiled and said "So this is Ophelia?" She asked and her husband nodded.
