it's my last night in seattle after my little trip and i have many feels about this city, grunge nostalgia, and the fics i wrote in the past 3 years without ever having set foot here. so, read on under the cut if you dare...

in august 2020 i got heavily back into my grunge roots as a coping mechanism for a falling-apart life (relationship, work, living situation, etc etc). i started writing a nostalgia-heavy fanfic set in 1989 seattle, creating my own little cast of original characters to play with the grunge guys i loved, from my little apartment overlooking a textiles market in a crumbling victorian building in east london, england. covid-era london couldn't have been further from grunge-era seattle, and i'd never been further northwest than san francisco years back, but somehow none of that deterred me. i read and watched everything i could about seattle, pored over google maps creating my own landscape of how it might look, feel, smell; where people might have lived, the streets they might have walked, the parks they might've visited, alongside the apocryphal venues like the vogue, central, showbox, metropolis etc - venues which, in some cases, still existed only in old photos found on pinterest. seattle became a character in my fic, "butterflies", as much as anybody else. i imagined it might smell like the rain, or pine, or cigarette smoke, or saltwater. i imagined crowded low-rise brick and timber buildings, a more intimate city than london or new york where i ended up moving and now live. i went back further into seattle's past for my second fic "shadows" and imagined a darker city, with shuttered churches and a sprawling red light district, an easy place to fall apart.

this year, nearly 3 years after i started writing about seattle, i made it here. it's been totally surreal, like deja vu or something. the little map of the city in my head came to life and yet at the same time i've been struck by the things i didn't know, the kind of things you only learn from being somewhere. it's HILLY here - the gradients are steep, and between downtown and capitol hill is a constant climb. the streets are wide and cut with alleyways, the sunlight is so bright here. the raison d'etre cafe where jeff worked is literally downstairs from the sub pop office; the vogue is around the corner from the northwest school where stone and steve turner studied, the monastery club was very close to the off ramp, the showbox is across the street from pike place (and nextdoor to a super seedy, ancient xxx theater). bainbridge island is huge, and beautiful.

i think the major impression i get is that seattle as a city feels SMALL. like, you can imagine what a small world this was back in the grunge days; people would've bumped into each other all the time, at shows and bars and cafes and just on the street. it's really sad to see that the city is beginning to buckle under all the big glassy developments, but the ghost of it is still there if you know where to look. the metropolis is a dingy little cafe now, the vogue and raison are salons, the ok hotel is apartments, the monastery site is all construction. the showbox and the central and off ramp are still recognisably music venues, though i know places like this are under threat to a degree and it breaks my grungey heart.

walking round this city with my partner the past couple days, i was always looking, at times internally SCREAMING - because here's where i had jeff and sara share pierogis, here's where stone and andy threw stones off the pier, here's where alicia and grace got off the bus to go to monastery, all these little moments from the fictional map in my head - and i have no one else to share this with but you guys, because as insane as it might be, my partner has 0 idea i've written about 500k words of seattle-set fic, and to him it's just another kind of cool city to explore. why i am so terminally ashamed of revealing my writing to anyone irl is a whole thing - my work exists only online to strangers (and tumblr friends) - but i'm working on it. i can definitely say that visiting seattle has only made me want to write about it more; it's a truly fascinating, layered place. i recommend it to anyone, and if you go, @magpiewithacamera 's incredible grunge history posts/photos are invaluable in finding the grungey layer beneath. i also took some photos, which i'll share at some point.

i dont live in london anymore, but seattle was an escape for me long before i ever came here. so: i bought a mother love bone poster at one of the underground shops in pike place market and a coaster with the view from kerry park, another location i wrote about what feels like a lifetime ago in the anxious midnight hours of a covid london night, and while i was walking down pike street, with the pine-smell and the edge of rain in the air just like i imagined they would be, i thought: when i write about this place again, i'll make sure i mention the hills.

Hello RDHero, I have a fic rec. Spare the Rod by dementian on ao3 is a very well written, epic saga of a fic if you like a/b/o that explores the social dystopia that happens when secondary genders and patriarchal systems get out of control. Despite the length and darker parts, it’s not purely depressing and keeps your interest throughout. It reminded me of tsgdt in that there is a defiant omega/guide challenging a flawed system, but beyond that they are two very different stories with different themes. But both stories are grounded and plot heavy for their genre, which is why I wanted to tell you about this fic. I also saw that you watched downton abbey back in the day, and this is a downton abbey fic centered around Thomas, a working class omega. The scenario it sets up where a/b/o meets the Edwardian class system is a double whammy. Don’t let the Robert/Thomas tag put you off, it’s a precautionary tag. There’s a main love interest that I won’t spoil, but his presence is an interesting incorporation of a real “historical” figure into an a/b/o fic universe.

I’m reccing an a/b/o fic first because you’ve written in that genre before and I rather hoped it would catch your interest. But in case you’re looking for something less dark and “out there”, Dementian’s other downton fics are very good. They have an almost original fiction quality to them, where the plot stands on it’s own with twists and resolutions, while at the same time being intrinsically connected to core characterizations and well researched canon historical settings.

Bad Harvest, in particular, might be up your alley. It’s an m/m/m crime thriller with hints of dom/sub. (There’re ropes and DP if that’s up your alley.) Beyond being hot and plotty, it also has a super well written female character whose steely strength and kindness is a joy to read, and villains that are three dimensional and human. If you enjoy Thomas barrow and co. that’s a bonus, but you could honestly read it as an original fic. Both fics are around 500k, a word of warning for those who are looking for short and sweet. But as someone who has never read anything over 100k, these flew by. I felt rather spoiled by the author, as if I were reading a series of published novels (albeit less marketable novels that had graphic m/m smut and grey moral decision making.) As someone who usually prefers original work, I was able to get lost in these two fics and hope you might find some enjoyment out of them as well.

Wow, thank you, i'm definitely going to check this out. "Can be read as original" is like music to my ears. Now that I'm thinking about it, I feel like I was reading a Downton Abbey omegaverse wip back in the day ... maybe this is the same one!

i'll be honest, i dont know much about hermitcraft since my main focus has been just the life series. but to me moon big is like THE hermitcraft thing, so i am shocked that there was people who hated it at all, let alone that the ccs think most people hated it. i've seen so much art, fics, discussions, and love for that ending. i can't really judge the ending since i haven't seen even a single episode. but one thing is for sure: when i think hermitcraft, i think of moon big

it sucks that the negative is what gets the most attention, but that's engagement-based social media for ya!

YEAH??? like, as time passes, i really do think that moon big is the hermitcraft thing. i mean, a 300 note meme post i made about it got into a youtube video from a guy with 500k subs, entirely out of context.

Reddit didn't seem to love moon big, and it drew various criticisms. Mostly, if I had to guess, this is because the subreddit doesn't like lore as much as we do. I saw a lot of posts from people who stopped watching hermits when they got too involved with storylines. I even saw people say they thought hermitcraft was better in really early seasons, when it was just regular minecraft let's play. Now, if that's the kind of content you want, that's fine. But so many people took to reddit to complain that they weren't getting that content they wanted, that the hermits were doing more story/roleplay based stuff.

Moon big was the largest lore thing yet in hermitcraft history. Even in the empires crossover, not every hermit participated. But moon big was for everyone. It was visually present in every video, the physical effects of the earthquakes and blocks flying up were present in every video, and it dictated/forced the end of the season--so therefore it affected all hermits and all povs. Now, not all hermits did a lot of lore for it. Some just basically didnt acknowledge it. But it did mean that if you were one of these people who wasn't a fan of lore/storyline, every episode from now on made you aware of it.

Me? I think it was brilliant. I think it was a great solution for a season that needed to be cut short. People accused it of being rushed, but it wasn't at all--the build up took over 2 months and had been in planning for months before then, so it was nearly planned for the whole season. I think it was also a great example of a storyline people could interact with at whatever level they wanted. Some people like Tango did a whole side storyline trying to stop it. Other people just simply tried to survive and continue their everyday activities. All of that still painted a picture, and it's a picture i'm obsessed with.

But yeah, a lot of people on reddit didn't like it. I think it was a banned topic for a while because the mods got tired of negative discussion posts on it. I won't even say the people on reddit who disliked it were in a majority--they might not have been! but they were, unfortunately, loud enough that to this day you'll still hear hermits talk about how S8 was unpopular or a failed experiment.

Which is so, so sad to me.

Never letting them go, no way. KP is just a momentary distraction. Sterek has everything I also love about other ships. Martino and Niccolò from Skam Italia, it's been four years since I first watched their season and they still make me just as happy.

First ever ship I think the very first one I've read fanfiction for is Brian/Justin from QaF US. I must have been 14 and it was a nearly 500k post-canon fic, though I doubt I read all of it. I still have the link but there's no way I'll read smut in German. I was also really into the gay storylines from soaps from all over the world. Maybe one of those came before.

Last movie I can't remember, I rarely ever watch movies. The next movie, though, is going to be Two and One with Paolo Pangilinan from Gaya Sa Pelikula. I've wanted to see it since it came out but couldn't legally. I finally found a file for the English subs and a download for the movie, though. So I guess piracy it is? I wanted to give them money, okay? The site just wouldn't let me.

Currently reading Whatever fanfics I am subscribed to and in theory also Buddenbrooks by Thomas Mann, I like it but it's been a year and I've managed less than 1/3.

Currently Watching Gannibal - I've only got one episode left but I am being a bit of a baby about it. It's scary, ok? I am fine with eating children once a year, I am less fine with keeping them in a cave for years until it's time to eat them. Word of Honor - It took me six months to watch the second episode so who knows how long it will take me to watch the next one, but I like it so far, even though I have no idea what is going on. Just a lot of flirting in front of teenagers, that I got. I am also rewatching the third season of Druck even if that is a slow process.

Currently Consuming Consuming what? Why so unspecific? Food? None. I've eaten too much and now my stomach hurts. Does music count? I am listening to AnnenMayKantereit.

If you were to ask Brett what his biggest strengths were, he would probably laugh you off, something about eating bubble tea and not gaining weight, or his pizzicato. But, if you were to actually get an answer; he might say something like this:

"I have a pretty good sense of how to work with others, and like, people in general." And if he were to answer further; Brett chose Eddy. Chose the boy with knobby knees and not enough space in his mouth for his teeth or his thoughts, and he still can't say /why/

Something in 14 year old Brett saw 13 year old Eddy and thinks "yes. you." Eddy rolls his eyes at Bretts "B+" in class, shifting his paper so his own "100%" is clearly visible. He cries after rehearsal, the only one to come in a bar early, the sharp words of the conductor.

Eddy laughs so hard he almost fell over at one of Brett's impressions of the soloist they're working with Eddy presses a cup into Brett's hands after the competition, the same Brett would order for himself.

And then- Something in 19 year old Brett saw 18 year old Eddy and thinks "It's still you." Eddy leading a quartet, bow dancing over strings that seemed to sing for him Eddy, sitting in a booth at some club, buying Brett a birthday drink and hiding his attempts to check the time.

Eddy, crying at anime, and girls, and the way that he has no one to talk to between clasess. Hanging onto Brett's friends like a limpet, desperate for their approval. Eddy, showing up to every recital Brett has. Every single time.

And then- something in Brett, 21, graduated; a new city a new world, saw Eddy, 20 and thinks "you will not be left behind. Phone calls get new names; calls to his parents and calls to Eddy- both calls home Eddy is still anxious, still demands Bretts time and sympathy and approval

He visits like clockwork, saving up every penny he has to squeeze their too-big bodies into Brett's twin bed, ignore the stare of his roommates. Bretts roommates, who scoff at his food and his play, his co-workers, who roll their eyes at his passion, he is alone often in sidney

It's in Sidney, watching Eddy plan out a video for their dumb channel that maybe isn't that dumb after all, that Brett realizes that he chose right. That every single time he has chosen Eddy; good things have happened-- that maybe he should stop being so afraid of his commitment

He choses Eddy again. Something in Brett, 25, looks at Eddy, 24, and knows "You. Wherever you lead me, it's you"

Leaving Sidney feels like leaving a part of himself; the part that was never satisfied, was always in contempt of the person he was in favor of who he could be Leaving Sidney is Brett admitting that maybe he doesn't need to do it all alone. Maybe he's better with a partner.

Hes right again Eddy is on fire, the passion he puts into their project, their weird little baby, their hope for the future, is unstoppable And it works. First 100k then 500k then they are halfway to 2 million subs and Brett still doesn't understand how he /knew/ that eddy was it

How he looked at him, still children, still unformed and rough, and //knew// that Eddy with his too big eyes and too long hair was the one that Brett could trust, the one that he could build the future with.

Brett has grown up. there is distance now, more than a decade, 3 cities, more apartments than he cares to remember, between him, 30, and him, 14. He doesn't remember what he saw, back then, what spark they must have shared, that made him know that Eddy was coming with him.

If you were to ask Brett what his strength is, standing in the kitchen as Eddy answers questions from the product manager with a deft confidence, he would say Eddy.

So so so funny watching my relationship with Youtube change over the years. Don’t know how it was for other people in my age bracket but I was on Youtube the moment it hit. I was in 3rd or 4th grade going to my friend’s house for a play date to go on her dad’s computer to browse youtube. I watched people like Hannah Hart, Shane Dawson, Roosterteeth, Michael Buckley, Charlieissocoollike, Vlogbrothers, Lets Players like Pewdiepie and Markiplier when they were at 500k subs and still called Lets Players, on and on and on. Probably dozens I can’t even immediately recall all sectioned into little boxes based on the years I watched them. I went to the first Vidcon. And my career goals for a long time were Youtube based (not as a content creator but something back end- first an editor and then I wanted to be a PR agent if you can imagine).

Anyways, the years have been strange. I’ve felt the crushing disappointment time and time again of those I admired and respected and enjoyed the content of getting revealed to be disgusting bigots or to be sexual predators. Or they become these massive stars, huge companies, and I start to hate their content or just resent what they’ve become. And that’s already been a lot to grapple with, including my weird personal experience with the early days of Youtubers getting SnapChat and just... accepting a lot of pics from fans with no limitations or barriers and even encouraging ‘funny’ challenges of “haha its no pants friday, send me a SnapChat!!” That hasn’t exactly changed nowadays what with constant reveals of even major Hollywood/industry stars being stupid as fuck in Twitter DMs but it was still a really weird shift.

But now there’s another side of it which is the growing up part. I think everyone’s heard about Hank Green, part of Vlogbrothers and CrashCourse as well as author, getting cancer by now. The video has over 7 million views, which is kind of funny because I didn’t think that many people would give a shit. I hiccuped and cried through the whole video, feeling this strange dread even as Hank spoke of how high his chances of full recovery are and his relentless positivity shone through. Now I logged on this morning and saw Grace Helbig, a channel I watched in tandem with folk like Hannah Hart and Tyler Oakley over a decade ago, announcing she has breast cancer. And again, crying and feeling a hole open in my stomach even as she talks about her very high chances of recovery and there’s certainly no reason to begin feeling hopeless.

You just don’t get this with celebrities, not like this, at least not for me. We hear big news reports about stars being diagnosed with serious illnesses like cancer- or we don’t at all, like Chadwick Boseman. But on YouTube, you have the person wearing a face you’ve known for so long even if you haven’t touched their videos in years telling you personally what’s going on. And it feels so much more real. It also draws your attention much more sharply to time passing and aging. I’m very grateful to be currently stable in my handling of universal inevitabilities like that but y’know it doesn’t change the impact in the moment. As you watch these cool adults that held a position in your mind like a distant cousin suddenly announce these very serious concerns that crop up as you get older, it’s easy to get caught up in recognizing your own passage of time and really the unfairness of these things.

Immediately after watching Grace’s video I tabbed over to watch a more recent video from Hank about his journey going through cancer treatment, which has been... every video since his announcement, obviously. That is his life now. And I was surprised how much it soothed me, despite no major difference in Hank’s attitude and arguably with it being more obvious the effects of cancer are having on him like his chemo making him lose his hair. Hank talks in the video I’m watching about how the number one thing he and other cancer patients he polled on Twitter desired during their time of sickness was social interaction, hanging out, the presence of other people. And it hit me then that, for me at least, these videos were once that for me. And should I ever unfortunately become diagnosed with similar illnesses to Hank or Grace, these videos will be that for me tenfold. I haven’t consistently watched these two in forever but that switch in my brain that gave me that connection I once had to their channels flipped on again watching their videos after these announcements.

I’m growing up with so much mounting hatred for Youtube. As a platform, a company, but mostly nothing to do with that and everything to do with feeling like my youth was based on a really rotten core. More than TV, movies, Hollywood, anything, Youtube was my big media world until I was 18 and it felt like that was just all wasted time. Time spent giving my love and energy to creeps and money grubbers or to those I grew out of with a lingering bitter taste in my mouth. But in the wake of these tragic personal events being shared with me, I’m given a strange sense of comfort and hope that the ‘magic’ lives on in other ways. There is value in what I had growing up and the connections I made to these people online, and the value may have changed or waned over the years but I still reap the positive benefits in the most unlikely of ways. It feels selfish and strange to talk about my own personal security and joy in rediscovering these Youtube channels during their time of hardship but this is why they made these videos ostensibly.

Because the old cliche is true, the same line I heard in so so so so many videos growing up before a friendly face told a personal anecdote or bared their soul to an audience of millions: “Maybe someone out there needs to hear this.”

The Plan for the Year

Reading Matt Fitzgerald’s book RUNNING THE DREAM, I just got to the part about aiming big and going for it. Hard to not feel the same way, especially with my attitude about this all right now being very comprehensive: “everything I do will either help or hurt the race.”

In that spirit I revisited the training plans I have from Higher Running, and am now thinking that if I do my 12 week base, work up and peak at one week of 80 miles, then I should be to go for their BQ plan, rather than their beginner-intermediate plan.

This is what their site says:

Is This Plan for You?

This plan is structured for runners who will reach a peak mileage of somewhere between 65 to 80 miles (100 to 130km) a week. If you haven’t run a single week over 55 miles (90km) per week in your running career yet, we highly recommend that you take several months (or even a year) to build up your mileage base so you are consistently averaging at least 50 to 55 miles per week (90km) on a regular basis without any serious injury before starting this training program.

So for me the 274 days between now and then would look like this:

12 weeks base building, from 40 to 80 miles

12 weeks advanced/intermediate 5k to 10k training plan

couple weeks recuperation, easy runs

16 weeks BQ plan.

I was gratified and somewhat dismayed to learn that I’m no longer in the sub-3 BQ age group, but instead am now in the 3:10. But to me that just sounds like I should make my A-goal be sub-3, B-goal be sub-3:10! Granted I’ve never gone sub-5, but I’ve also never followed a plan

Here are my PR’s

1 mile: 5:59

2 mile: 13:40

5K: ~20:00

Half-marathon: 1:59

Marathon: 5:15 (at the end of an Ironman, no less, on two different occasions)

24 hour: 90 miles

100 miles: 28.5 hours

One week: 210 miles

500K : 9 days, 20 hours

So who the hell knows what I really am capable of!

I never focused on speed until I joined the Army. I became extremely excited two years ago during the COVID era and wanted to try to get really fast, but I tried the sprints and fast stuff without having a base, and instead of getting faster each week I discovered I was getting slower. I’d go do 8 quarter-mile sprints, be sore for 4 days, do one short run, and so even though I ran fast I actually had less overall volume. After a couple of weeks I couldn’t hit the initial speed times.

Whereas, with the Army 2-miler, I would do almost no speed training, just show up with a large aerobic base, and be able to knock out a 14 minute two-mile. Interesting stuff on which to ponder! I’ve learned my lesson, which Coach Sage and Sandi repeat endlessly in their videos: build a base or else.

saw some people say they wouldn’t be able to watch george’s cooking stream because of school/work so i took note of some things that happened (with very rough timestamps. like really rough and it happened ~around~ that time) so they could relate to jokes/etc being made on the dashboard/timeline without having to watch the entire 4 hours of the stream immediately :) hope this is helpful in any way ? lol

VidCon:

In the months leading up to VidCon, some fans on the internet made a few discoveries: first of all, that the inside of Link’s house is painted green. This is a big deal because all of his videos are filmed outside either in his backyard or on trips that he and the brosquad go on to do…whatever bros do. explosions. idk. The point is he had some announcement about VidCon and filmed it inside. Only the wall and a potted plant were shown.

However, the colour was similar to the the shade of Zelda’s living room. Fans dug through years and years of old videos and found a clip of Zelda walking through a hallway, where there was an open door and a glimpse of a houseplant.

There were 2 types of responses to the theory:

“They could just be roommates guys calm down”

“and they were ROOMMATES?”

others pointed out that Link could just not have a house and had to crash in Zelda’s

Some guy on reddit claimed he had a botany degree and declared that the houseplants in the clips were not of the same genus. Normal people pointed out that the plant would have grown 4 years between the clips and would look considerably different.

#Zelink trended on twitter for a while and people posted other old clips from both of their channels and the frog video blew up again

Impa retweeted a post tagged as #zelink with “rofl” and later publicly apologized for causing confusion.

Fans noticed that in the “can a motorcycle drive over my arm” (it was clickbait he’s fine) episode 2 years ago, Link was eating out of a paper lunch bag with his name written on it in handwriting that a few people claimed to look like Zelda’s, leading people to believe that she had packed him a lunch.

However, this theory was shot down with the counterargument that Zelda can’t cook. although. i mean how much skill do you need to make a sandwich.

No one knows what tumblr is doing at this time

Zelda wore a scarf in her “Save the Sand Seals” video that matched identically to the scarf Link wore when he travelled to Hebra to film a shield surfing video, but it’s been debated wether it’s actually the same scarf or not.

Neither Zelda nor Link has spoken up about the theories, and besides Impa’s one slip on twitter, neither has any of their friends. Zelda received a lot of backlash for the assumption that she was dating Link because he has a lot of delusional fans that didn’t want her to “steal their man” or whatever the hell that type of fan would get mad about

after that whole mess, everyone was even more anticipant of VidCon in the hopes that some of their questions would be answered.

The whole batch went to VidCon this year: Link, Impa, Daruk, and Riju are a gang while Sidon and Mipha go together and Zelda & Revali each go separately. Urbosa is there for supervision moral support

Zelda has always been much better at dodging questions that she doesn’t want to answer than anyone else, so her Q&A went without a hitch. When asked to confirm the rumours she said “which one?” and then moved on to the next question (without actually confirming any rumours).

Link is generally a more awkward person but eventually said that he had filmed the video in Zelda’s house because it was nicer and didn’t realize it would cause such an uproar. Fans were disappointed, but Bolson claimed he saw Link and Zelda exiting the hotel elevator on the same floor after Link’s Q&A session. No one believed him.

Fans went back to theorizing over who Link, Zelda, and Sidon were all dating, because apparently they can’t just be dating unknown people and have to be with other YouTubers

Sidon and Bazz got engaged about a week after VidCon, making at least 4 preteen girls cry

Sidon x Sidon made a brief comeback but Sidon spoke up about his fandom for the first time ever on twitter and told everyone that no, he was not dating himself. eventually, everyone settled down and accepted that none of them were in a relationship save for a few loud fans.

Link and Zelda still got the occasional “when will you tell us who you’re dating?” comment but most of them were joking and the people who still hardcore shipped them were generally frowned upon. Zelda’s popularity went up after VidCon and she regained the 200k subscribers she’d lost after the first theory dropped.

Two months after VidCon, Link posted a video titled “Zelda and I’s House Tour!” and gave around 45 million people a heart attack

as revealed in the video, they had actually been dating since they were 16 and everyone’s just a fool.

Minecraft and Chill

Kenma’s career as a steamer was a very stable one, he was often streaming many times throughout the week. However, in the times he wasn’t, he was watching streams of other creators. Kenma would often find himself watching a stream while playing a game and it often happened to be your stream.

You were (streamer name), one of the top five streamers in the world. Your streams usually averaged around 500k+ viewers per day and you best believe Kenma was one of them. Although Kenma had his main account, Kodzuken, he made a separate one which allowed him to traverse the online world without getting recognized.

During these “escapades”, he ended up stumbling across your streams. At the time, you weren’t too big, barely getting 50 views per stream. Your popularity didn’t matter, because Kenma LOVED you anyway. Your personality, the games you chose, your ability to KICK ASS. He quickly became a patron but often found himself too scared to talk to you. You were funny, lighting up his day and making him laugh more than he would without you. There were many days where he wanted to ask you questions or something but just couldn’t. So he decided to support you from the shadows.

He watched as you grew- more like skyrocketed- and quickly became one of the top five streamers. He was happy for you, he really was. Watching your streams always made his days better, which kind of made you a priority. Kenma would often have stressful days where he just needed to relax but couldn’t. He would be restless or anxious, then he’d get a small notification claiming you were streaming. He… got excited. Immediately joining and watching you play some game. More often than not, Kenma was staring at your face. Your streaming schedule worked very well with Kenma’s. You often streamed before him but there were days where you streamed after. This allowed Kenma to be present for every stream, except for those odd ones that occurred during his time. He had no choice but to skip those, sadly.

Unfortunately, Kenma was just a little too nervous to mention your name on his own streams, so he chose to keep his love for you hidden. Your name had come up in the stream chat before, but he didn’t stay on the subject too long. Honestly, Kenma could spend an entire day talking about you… but his fans didn’t need to know that.

There were many games that Kenma wanted to play with you, but he just didn’t have the ability to ask you. I mean, he was pretty popular too now so it wasn’t impossible to get a response from you. But he was scared of getting rejected, even with something like this.

There were many days- nights, really- where Kenma had drafted up a cute little message, explaining how he loved your streams and wanted to play a game with you. After over thirty changes to the message, he would find himself unable to send it. Therefore, he always deleted it. Eventually, he decided to ask Hinata and Kuroo about it. Kuroo advised him to just “man up” and ask, since the worst you could do is say no, but Kenma refused. Hinata recommended Kenma ask through a mutual friend, but that also couldn’t work. What if you didn’t appreciate that?

After all of that contemplation, he’d reached a decision. Kenma had just come to the conclusion that you were just too far out of his reach. That no matter how much he ran after you, you were too great for him.

Until you said his name on your stream.

Kenma’s day had been rather uneventful, he hadn’t had much to do all day. He’d watched a movie, then talked with Hinata for a bit, and finally came his favorite time of the day. Your stream.

You were streaming a game you liked called (game). You were just droning on about how many times you’d played it, your first experience, how much you enjoyed it, and the like. That’s when one of your viewers asked about the people you wanted to collaborate with.

“Hmm… there’s a lot of good players out there and I’ve collabed with a few people before! I do wanna play with Kenma!” He nearly choked on his apple pie.

Kenma was positive that he’d just misheard you. Sure, he was a LITTLE obsessed with you- barely missing any streams or any posts you made- but there’s no way that YOU, (y/f/n), wanted to play a game with HIM. Unable to help himself, he typed up a message in your chat but was, once again, unable to send it. However, another viewer had the same idea and you saw their question.

“Kodzuken Kenma?”

“Kenma, yeah! That Kenma! The little cutie with the blond and black hair!” You giggled as you confirmed you were talking about him. Kenma had never been so concentrated on something before, feeling his face heat up at the mention of his name. Wait- you called him a cutie. YOU CALLED HIM A CUTIE!!

He almost outed himself by responding with his alt account, but stopped right before he could. He took a few deep breaths, finding out that he was shaking from excitement. He couldn’t help the small smile that formed on his face at the thought of you two finally talking, like in real life and not in his imagination.

“I should ask him?” You giggled, reading another comment. “I should! Do you think he would say yes? I know he’s a busy guy but maybe we could play like… I don’t know, something together!” The chat immediately filled with people saying he would love to play or that you should 100% ask him.

So you did.

On stream.

Through your phone, you found Kenma on social media and sent him a message. His heart almost stopped when he saw it come in. He needed a second, choosing to walk around the house for a moment before responding. He was also worried about responding too fast but the excitement took over and he kind of forgot to wait. Your message was simple with a greeting, introduction, request to collab, a little emoji or two, then a thank you. IT WAS SO CUTE! Yes, Kenma did screenshot it and save it to his favorites.

With that smile still plastered onto his face, Kenma quickly agreed, recommending many games you two could play. He spent the rest of your stream feeling happier than before, waiting patiently for a response back. He got one as soon as your stream ended, the conversation lasting for a surprisingly long time after.

The conversation mostly consisted about how you two were excited to play with each other rather than actually choosing a game and date. Kenma had never been so talkative before, even through text, but something about you just made him… social. Maybe it was how long he’d followed you or the numerous times he wanted to comment that he couldn’t, but he just couldn’t stop talking. Neither did you, though, so it worked out really well.

Eventually, you did end up deciding on a day. You both chose to play Minecraft and three days after you had asked for the collab. Kenma was SO excited, Hinata and Kuroo had never seen him this happy before, so of course, both tried to find a way to watch Kenma’s stream that day.

Your excitement was evident in your streams when you two started. There was just this glow about you two that attracted even more people. Your streams lasted longer than usual, about five hours. You two were so engrossed in the games that you just lost track of time. You and Kenma talked about so many things, with your fans joining in and asking a million questions.

“How long have I known about Kenma?” You said, looking at a comment before pausing. “A few months now! I’ve followed him for a while! Thankfully, he usually always streams after me so I can always watch him!”

“You watch my streams? I’ve never seen your name before.” Even though Kenma garnered a lot of viewers, someone would’ve seen you and pointed you out.

“Oh! That’s because I use an alt account!” You laughed evilly before waving your hand, “and no one will ever know who I am!” So… you did the same thing he did? Kenma wanted to reveal his own little secret, but chicken out, opting to say:

“Oh no wonder. Cute.” Yes, your fans 100% noticed your cheeks turning red when Kenma called you cute. And no, they won’t ever let you live it down.

However, the viewers truly went crazy right after you and Kenma had finished building your headquarters of sorts. You had both spent an insane amount of time on the inside, making it aesthetically pleasing while also organizing all of your gear. Yet the outside was looking a little bleak, still constructed with just extra dirt and wood blocks that you had.

While cleaning it up, you had offhandedly made a comment about how you felt as if it were missing something. Kenma had immediately gone into his inventory as he remembered the flowers he had picked earlier when you weren’t paying attention. He had picked them because it became a habit of his; in a past stream of yours, you had said how you really liked the (f/flower)’s the most. So every time he played, anytime he came across one, he picked it.

“Here, use these.” His character dropped the flowers for you to pick up.

“These would be perfect! Plus they’re my favorite! How’d you know?”

“Lucky guess.”

Your sweet smile was something that, once again, did not go unnoticed by the fans.

So after that first stream, your fans started shipping you. Everyone was talking about you two and the chemistry they felt! Kenma couldn’t have felt happier after, so happy that you genuinely enjoyed your time with him. He was also happy when people mentioned you had so much chemistry with him and that they preferred to watch you play with him than anyone else.

Since then you two streamed more and more often with each other, which gave your fans plenty of shots to make “Kenma x (y/n)” ship videos on YouTube. Not only that, but your ship name, (ship name), was trending on social media! People loved you two, especially together. Kenma, at first, avoided the topic until you brought it up. He apologized that so many people were shipping you two, but you admitted you didn’t mind and that it was cute.

You two did talk about these videos with each other in private. The last thing you wanted to do was bring it up in a stream. You and Kenma had upgraded to video calling after feeling that texting was “too much work” which was really a cover for it not being enough. Since you two didn’t live near each other, this was the only way you could communicate. Calling every day became a natural thing. Aside from streaming, you two would video call with each other as much as you could.

Your conversations ranged from talking games to food to things you did that day all the way to your fans making ship videos and such. You often showed him the videos, joking around and whatnot. There was a video titled “Kenma and (y/n) are dating | WITH PROOF” that had caught your attention and you needed to show Kenma. Of course, at the time you two weren’t.

“Oh this ship video claims to have proof of us dating,” you laughed as you waved your phone in front of your webcam. Normally, Kenma was very careful to watch what he would say but that day Kenma… wasn’t paying attention.

“Maybe we should give them proof.”

“What?” Kenma visibly tensed, realizing what he’d said. The instant regret was very evident in his eyes and he immediately tried to come up with an excuse. His eyes darted to the small frame of you on his screen. Unfortunately, he couldn’t come up with anything, I mean how could he? You were just so damn pretty it messed with his head!

“I… uh… n-nothing.” He murmured looking away with bright red cheeks.

“Gi-give them proof? We’re n-not dating, Kenma.” You said as you started to fiddle with your hands. You seemed nervous to Kenma, which made him even more worried. He was silent for a long while, causing an awkward silence to fall over you two, making you want to change the subject. But as you went to speak, he did first.

“Maybe we should.”

“We should… d-date?” You knew your cheeks were red and you could only hope they weren’t as visible as you thought. They were. Kenma just nodded instead of speaking. “Do you… like me?” You could put two and two together, but you wanted confirmation. Just to be sure.

“Y-Yeah th-that’s one way to put it.” Too scared to admit that his attraction to you had surpassed the crush stage, he opted to agree with what you said. Judging by your reaction, it was obvious you liked him too. Kenma’s nerves settled and he took a deep breath, ready to finally do things properly. When he spoke, his voice was brimming with confidence. “I like you, (y/n). Will you go out with me?”

Voltron Band/YouTuber AU

Allura is the daughter of Alfor, who owns the company ‘Altea’. They handle huge bands and music groups. She is going to succeed Alfor when he eventually retires, however, Allura does not desire to take over the company and, instead, wants to manage a band. Alfor does not believe she will be able to live comfortably as a manager of a band. In order to prove she can, she gathers five different YouTubers and forms a band with them. She has two years to make them as popular and as successful as she can, with at least 2 million subscribers on YouTube. Obviously, two years isn’t enough time, so she picks YouTubers who already have a following, though they’re all under 500k, as she was restricted by Alfor. In the end, she picks Shiro, Keith, Hunk, Lance and Pidge to establish a band, Voltron.

And, of course, because they're YouTubers already, they're not gonna stop at just music. Cue a shit ton of shenanigans, Kallura, Lancelot, and shit ton of Adashi. (BTW, I'm listing things by age order, not favourites. If I were, I would have started with Keith and Allura.)

Shiro:

His YT channel is mostly playing horror games. It’s hilarious because new viewers look at him and think he’s going to handle everything really well, but this guy is such a baby. He’s like twenty-three, but he screams and jumps five feet into the air at a can falling from the shelf in a video game. Sometimes he’ll get a notification in the middle of a tense moment and will scream like no other. 463k subs. Sometimes streams on twitch, but usually uses YouTube. After a terrifying gameplay, like res, he’ll play a softer game like Minecraft or Ratchet & Clank.

Do not let him near a sad game - he will cry, and you will cry seeing it. He once played The Last of Us on recommendation and cried for the rest of the video when Sarah died. He had to stop the video early because of this, and nobody has recommended a sad game since.

Before the video ended, Keith calls out Shiro’s name, and Voltron fans took this and used it as further ‘evidence’ that there was something going on between them. Again, this was shot down without hesitation.

Lead guitarist/vocals. His voice is gruff, and he can reach the low and high notes, which makes his voice so fucking suitable for the rock genre. His vocals are the best in the band, with Lance coming in second, and then Keith. As stated previously, he’s quite emotional, and he uses this to his advantage, connecting to the songs on an emotional level. Sometimes, he’s even the one writing them. When he and Keith work together, expect many, many tears, or much empathetic anger.

He’s fluent in Japanese and English, and only half-so in Korean. He only started learning Korean a year before the story starts, so he’s only confident in writing and reading, not conversations. Keith is helping. Whenever he’s super scared, he screams in Japanese.

He was once accused of being a weeb and just went, “I’m Japanese, aho”.

He got into a car accident on the way to the concert and ended up with a fractured collarbone. He gets physio, but in his absence, he has Keith led the team, but he does have Lance on lead vocals.

Weak for Disney and love songs. He posted a cover of ‘you’re welcome’ on his channel, and it’s one of his most famous pre-Voltron videos. It’s also one of the reason’s Allura scouted him.

Engaged to a still-alive Adam because I am NOT A COWARD, VOLTRON--!! He and Adam are very happy together. Because they're both gorgeous and of age, people have taken to thirsting over both of them. Adam laughs it off, but Shiro gets a bit jealous, but not possessive. Fuck that toxic shit.

This is only one of the reasons he was disgusted by the idea of ‘Sheith’. Other reasons are that Keith is literally nineteen, and he’s twenty-three; Keith is his little brother - adopted, but still; Keith is demi-aroace. Need I go on?

Keith:

Keith’s YouTube channel consists of conspiracy videos, analyses and theories. Occasionally, when he’s bored and CBA to go through the whole recording-editing process, he just live streams whatever’s on his mind. Because there’s no script, his streams tend to be about three hours, but most people end up watching the entire thing and get their mind blown. 337k subs. Strictly YouTube - no twitch. He has a naturally angry face, so most think he’s a hothead, but he’s such a softie.

He did a stream about why Hippos are the superior animal while hugging a hippo plushie. He was a bit sick and wasn’t thinking clearly, but he changed the mind of so many people because he was so fucking cute--

BuzzFeed and the like use him a source because he’s that fucking reliable and fast

Shiro’s adopted younger brother, but nobody really knows this. When they start gaining popularity, someone digs an old video of Shiro walking in frame in the middle of Keith’s video in just briefs and a tank top and people began speculating that Shiro was dating a fucking nineteen-year-old and they both shot that down because ew. (BTW, you can ship Sheith if you want, but, in this AU, they're adopted brothers, so it's disgusting here.)

Keith has PTSD from his foster homes before the Shiroganes take him in. When he’s sick and feverish and someone speaks loudly or looks somewhat mad, or if he does something wrong, even by accident, he’ll slip and start calling people sir or ma’am. He’ll hide in closets if he thinks he’s in danger, but he hates being forced or pushed into a closet. He takes the topic of abuse and mental health very seriously.

Autistic baby.

Just because he’s demi-aroace, it doesn’t mean this guy isn’t smooth as FUCK. He teaches Lance how to flirt properly, after he’s got past finger guns, a grin, and an overplayed pick-up line. When he gained feelings for Allura, you bet your arse, he flirted his way into her heart. (Little did he know, Allura already had underlying feelings for him, the flirting just helped reveal them--).

He’s the bass/rhythm guitarist, but he can play literally any instrument he deems interesting enough. He’s also very good at singing, though his tone suits solemn songs mostly, and he isn’t as good as Shiro or Lance in their genre of songs. He can also dance very well. Legit, this man can play: bass (obvs), guitar (acc & elec), piano, harmonica, the stylophone, a fucking kazoo, and even the violin. Most people think he doesn’t have the patience for any of these instruments, but they’re so wrong. He once mentioned this in a stream, and Allura snatched him up without hesitation. A man of actions, not words, but when those words are written, expect a lot of tears.

Keith actually has a lot of patience - he’s just passionate. He doesn’t have anger issues, stop assuming he has, you DICKHEADS--

Keith is legit a genius. This guy knows five and a half different languages. He’s fluent in English, Korean, Japanese, French, Latin (bc all the ancient texts are in Latin) and is half-fluent in Spanish. He can write in all of them, but is unsure about speaking in Spanish. (Lance helps him because toxic friendship = NO).

This is his voice. Listeeen. (Also, I'm crying. One of the comments for the first link says, 'im crying oml, Glenn singing this to Maggie. and keith singing this to mothman').

Hunk:

He has a cooking/baking channel, of course. He’s so fucking sweet, omg. 498k subs bc he deserves it. Gets Lance to taste most of his dishes, but Pidge gets the desserts/sweets. This man has legit been complimented by Ramsey - he’s that good. When he isn’t cooking/baking, he’s reacting as others cook, and his reactions are so fucking funny. Basically, he’s Uncle Roger.

Jamie Oliver brings him unsettling amounts of rage and fury. Gordon is his favourite chef, but he yells a lot and Hunk’s anxiety says NO.

He doesn’t livestream, but he joins Lance’s streams and plays all sorts of games w/ him. He was scouted bc, Lance bragged about Hunk’s drumming skills for Hunk in a stream, while also bragging about his own musical skills. Hunk is flustered, but he doesn’t exactly deny it.

Hunk, as stated previously, can play the drums, and is the drummer. He writes a lot of the softer songs, and those are the songs that people listen to feel better rather than vent. He can play the saxophone and the tuba, but not expertly. Yet. You bet your ass Allura is pushing all sorts of lessons on him when she learns this, and, before you know it, Hunk is being offered freelance orchestra positions.

Hunk is fluent in Samoan, English and is half-fluent in Spanish bc of Lance. He knows certain words in all sorts of languages, but that’s just because of his multicultural cooking. He also knows Go, Python and JavaScript.

Hunk has been offered the position of head chef, but he always turns it down because he doesn’t want to turn his passion into a job. It’s easier to manage with YouTube. Plus, he doesn’t like being confined to a set menu or genre. And he can’t eat what he’s cooked after as a chef in the industry. Plus, he can’t handle the pressure.

Has 100% arm wrestled the entire cafeteria in school for an entire tiramisu and won.

Anxiety mainly, but he’s so sweet, and he knows how to handle people - he just thinks too much and is very queasy. Almost threw up in his first video because of his anxiety. He gets over it, eventually, through exposure and Lance.

Lance thinks their friendship is a bit unfair because he relies on Hunk a lot, but Hunk disagrees. He needs Lance as much as Lance needs him, or even more. If it weren’t for Lance, Hunk would still be scratching his arms until it bled because of anxiety. If it weren’t for him, Hunk would still be unable to look at even a phone camera without feeling like he needed to throw up. Maybe Lance doesn’t know this, but it’s fine, because it happened anyway.

Lance:

He posts a lot of beauty videos, and sometimes gives commentary about crime, like Bailey Sarian, or just about whatever’s on his mind. Fans love him for more than just how pretty/handsome he is. Lance talks a lot about sensitive topics and handles it really well. He’s firmly against stuff like homophobia, transphobia, racism and so on. He doesn’t get overly emotional unless it really strikes home, like self-worth, anxiety and what it was like growing up poor. 435k subs.

Live streams on twitch mostly, but sometimes does YouTube. Twitch streams are gaming ones, which get way more views than his YT streams. YouTube streams are usually just him talking to chat. He hums and sings a lot in these, which is how Allura knew to scout for him.

ADHD, anxiety and lack of self-worth. He gets better, don’t worry.

Lance loves the water and took free diving lessons. He can go five minutes forty seconds without air at the bottom of a pool. He likes rain, but he hates drizzles as they keep making him flinch, and it’s uncomfortable.

A lot of people ship him with Keith, but this died down after Lance expressed discomfort with being shipped. He had to explain that he is bisexual, and it’s not because Keith is a guy, it’s because everyone from the band is like family to him, and it goes against his very being to be shipped with them.

Lance is the rhythm guitarist and can sing very, very well. He’s the second best in the group. He can play the guitar, acc & elec. He acts like he can dance, but he is so bad, somebody, stop him--!! He gets better, don't worry. He also knows how to play a launchpad, because of course he does, and a kazoo.

He’s fluent in English and Spanish. He’s the one to sing Spanish songs, like Despacito. He’s excited when he hears that Keith is learning Spanish and gets Hunk to learn Spanish too. When he’s really excited, he ends up speaking Spanish and confuses most people, but it’s adorable anyway.

Acts like he’s the smoothest guy ever, but he really isn’t. He’s so awkward and has no idea what he’s supposed to do. He has to be taught by Keith, of all people. It takes him a while, but after Keith seamlessly flirts with Galra employees, Lance ends up asking him right after they get the information they need and meet Lotor and the gang. He’s a bit oblivious.

Met Hunk in first year of middle school, and they’ve been besties since. He usually goes to Hunk if he’s feeling a bit sad or emotional. Hunk knows how to handle his anxiety attacks and knows when to tell Lance if he’s done something wrong or crossed a boundary. Because of his ADHD, for a long while, Lance thought the worst of people and suffered from extreme paranoia. This settled down when he started going to therapy and taking medication. He doesn’t need medication any more, but he takes it when he has a bad day.

His voice is so goood, but he's an asshole...!!

Pidge:

Vlogging central. Their channel is full of random, spur of the moment recordings of their life with Matt, Sam and Colleen. They prank Matt a lot, and Matt tends to prank them while they’re recording. They’ve accidentally walked in on Matt getting worked up over an Otome and nobody lets it go. Sometimes, Pidge catches Keith and Matt cuddling, or Shiro and Matt freaking out over a horror film. 327k subs.

Streams a lot of gaming, and they use IG for instalive for vlogging-type streams. They only use twitch if Lance and/or Hunk invite them to play. They’re a master at video gaming and always beat them in smash and the like.

A lot of people though they were a guy before, in an instalive, they were like, “Nah, I’m nonbinary, and I go by they/them pronouns” and Matt jumped in with, “and you’re biologically female, so they’re wrong in all possible ways lol”. So many people were shooketh.

Pidge is the pianist. They can play the keyboard, mainly, but can also play the flute. Their vocals are mediocre, so they’re not really relied on for singing, like Hunk. They reveal this when Matt gets them to play for the video, and they play Lavender Town from Pokemon.

They’re very much multilingual, like Keith. They’re fully fluent in English, Italian, Spanish, French and Russian. They’ve recently started learning Polish and can only write thus far. If you include computer languages, then they’re also fluent in Scala, Python, C, Go and JavaScript. They want to learn Japanese and get Shiro and Keith to teach them.

Pidge has collaborated a couple of times to create websites for popular YouTubers, but despite being credited, they don’t get much recognition or attention. They create the website for Voltron when they start to gain popularity. At some point, a game company reaches out to them and requests aid to program their game, and Pidge is ecstatic and works freelance for them on the side.

They’re aroace and bond with Keith over being ace. When they told this to Lance and Hunk the first time, they had to create a whole ass PowerPoint about what it meant. This PowerPoint was what led Lance to question his own sexuality. In the end, they were both very supportive.

Pidge knows everyone pre-Voltron, apart from the Alteans. Matt was besties with Shiro and Keith, so they met them that way, and they met Lance and Hunk at comic con. They usually talk with Keith in French for the lols and to piss everyone off.

They were the most hesitant about Voltron, but caved in the end after feeling the rush after their first performance, even though it was private and a spur-of-the-moment thing, courtesy of Shiro. (Lemonade Mouth who?? lol).

Allura:

Because of her prestigious background, Allura was taught aikido just in case anyone tries to harm or kidnap her. While aikido is a self-defence form of martial arts, she is plenty capable of starting fights if anyone wrongs her or her family/friends.

She grew up with Romelle, who she met at a private middle school. Allura only found out about the others because of Romelle, who prefers niche and smaller YouTubers whose following aren’t big enough to be overwhelmingly toxic. They banter so much that it actually shocks the others when they see their interactions because of how rude they are to each other. Basically, it’s British banter, where they take jabs at literally everything and that’s how you know they’re family. Romelle is actually the one to get her to realise that she loves Keith.

When she joins, Allura gets on them vocals, able to sing both high and low, though not baritone. Her voice is literally the most soothing thing ever. She debuts with 'Would you be so kind?' which fans adored. Her best moment, however, is when she sung Sweater Weather w/ Keith. This is the song that made her begin to realise that she has some sort of feelings towards Keith. It was also the song that cemented Keith’s feelings towards her and made all the haters, who’d been opposed to Allura joining, shut the fuck up.

The only real vendetta Allura has against Galra Entertainment is due to a rivalry. In the past, Altea and Galra had been one entertainment company, but Zarkon got too big for his own good and split the company in half, with Alfor as Altea’s head and Zarkon as Galra’s head. The other three in their band/company ended up going into different careers. Trigel became an audio engineer. Blayzt became a casting manager. Gyrgan became a cinematographer. Allura is still close to them, but only because they care about them and show that they do. Zarkon does not, which is why she does not like him.

Voltron:

Voltron’s definition: A group of things that are more powerful when combined. Fandom is known as the Voltron Coalition, VoCoal’s, (Vocals). They grow hella fast as all the members are diverse and attractive, sound good, and already have a following. They reach the goal of two million subs in a single year.

They start by uploading covers of classics and then release an original album.

Their instruments are all colour-coded. When Shiro has to take a break on tour, Allura steps in. She takes over Keith’s bass guitar and Keith takes over lead guitarist and vocals, but Lance is the one taking on the heavy and hard vocals. Allura can also sing very well and ends up joining Voltron instead of replacing. She doesn’t play a set instrument, but she has the missing feminine vocals.

Allura is the manager, but Coran takes over for her when she expresses a desire to perform and because of popular demand after she sings Sweater Weather w/ Keith, (the KHS ver).

Their YT channel, Voltron, is solely for music, trailers and announcements/updates.

They have a second channel, Paladins, where they upload basically anything, as long as it isn’t a sole thing or something for their channel alone. Pidge is in charge of vlogs, Shiro and Lance are in charge of gaming, Keith is in charge of explaining songs/MVs, and Hunk is in charge of feel-good videos and comps.

Hunk often hosts huge cook offs/bake offs, and he’s the referee. Keith’s the only one who can actually cook, (because he had to learn or else he’d never get to eat), so whoever’s on his team often ends up both learning and winning. Lance can only sort of cook from being with Hunk for so long. Adam cooks for Shiro, who's been banned from the kitchen after burning a boiled egg, and Pidge’s parents cook for them. Baking is usually fifty-fifty, but you have a better chance with Lance on your team.

Keith spends literal hours just making the script when he has to explain songs even if it’s his own songs, but the videos are always huge hits or emotional, so he deems it as worth it. Their editor takes a while to send videos back because they either get super riled up or they burst into tears. At one point, Keith details some things he went through in one of his foster homes as a source of his writing material, and they didn’t get the video back for a week. Curtis, their editor, made sure to give Keith a vanilla milkshake and some strawberry shortcake. After that, Curtis gets emotional every time he sees Keith. He’s not the only one.

Shiro and Lance hold meetings, no joke, to decide what game they should play. Some multiplayer games Lance suggests have very emotional scenes, and Shiro can’t handle those. But, some multiplayer games Shiro proposes are generic and played to the point of death. There are also times when they get someone to play a single-player game and Lance has to warn Shiro ahead of time when there’s a sad/emotional scene. He forgets once, and Keith freaks out and almost breaks the camera to calm Shiro down.

Pidge doesn’t warn anyone when they’re recording, unless it��s in the studio. They just barge in with a camera and everyone is just like, ‘oh, so this is happening now?’. Because of the new proximity, Pidge can capture more pure crack. This is not an exaggeration. They record Keith dropping a pen and jumping five feet in the air like a cat, Shiro belting Let it Go when he thought he was alone, Hunk and Lance re-enacting Obi-Wan vs Anakin on the kitchen counter with bread sticks, Allura’s clothes falling on her when she opened her wardrobe, and Coran hanging upside down from the ceiling. In return, Hunk caught Pidge asking where their glasses are while wearing them and also asking where their phone is while on it, so many times that there are now comps.

Everyone was worried after Kallura became official and public, but the reception was amazing, and they genuinely love each other. (Lance gets jealous a bit, but not because he has a crush on either of them. He’s just lonely and-- Oh, look, there’s Lotor).

After Lancelot becomes a thing, the fandoms unite and double their followings. Also, Generals appear more often in Paladins videos. The BOM are mad about Galra and Altea being connected in such a way, but Keith sort of scowls at them, and they just shut up.

Quick Notes:

Shiro is 23, Keith is 19, Hunk + Lance are 18, Pidge is 17, Allura is 19, Coran is 40.

The Galra are a rival entertainment industry with Zarkon as the CEO, Haggar as the EA, and their most famous group being the Generals, (Lotor, Acxa, Zethrid, Ezor, Narti).

The BOM are a group of pre-Galra recruits who left due to how toxic the workplace was and started an orchestra. (At some point they invite Keith to join them as his mother was part of their group before she died. He temporarily joins them as a violinist when Thace is shanked and robbed in an alley.)

Allura offers to pay for a year of any lesson they need or want to bribe them, other than exposure, and they all take it.

Keith and Shiro can ride motorbikes, and Lance really want to learn.

Pidge and Hunk share a love of computer science. Hunk likes building computers. Pidge prefers coding. But, they both love programming and even dabble in hacking.
