Hi! I love your body language analyses that you have done so far and wanted to know what you think about this interview - seems like there is all sorts of things going on!
https://youtu.be/_wP5fNffgE4?si=-Kxhfv7apaZaW6-q
There are! This is an interview from 2019 so their dynamic is also different, a lot more friendly, but not like now. The interview is also cut at some points.
Here's the video:

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
To start with, David is sitting the closest to the hosts/interviewers, something that up to that point (and even now) is not that common. Michael is usually the closest to interviewers.
David, when sitting away, is more open with how he sits. He takes up more space. Michael, sits the same. Hands in front of him and back off the seat.
In this interview, David is laid back onto the couch, leaning away from the two hosts and close to Michael. His right arm is across from this and his right hand is covering his genitals. His legs are crossed at the ankles as well.
He's blocking with is arm. He's not overly defensive because his right shoulder isn't shrugged, but still there's a limit, and protecting himself with is hand. However, with him being laid back and his ankles also crossed, there is some confidence/security in himself. His chin is also up, which is usually seen as aggressive/superiority, but this is also a default for David. When he does mean it, he tends to through his chin up multiple times.
Michael is in his default sitting position. Hands resting in front of him, legs open, back straight, neutral face, torso facing forward. It's been pointed out that he's self-conscious about his body so this is a way from him to feel secure.
Both of their tones when speaking are flat/neutral. David also looks over at Michael while answering, unconsciously or consciously, seeking support.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Did you fight over the parts of who would be good and who would be bad?"
Michael repositions and touches his nose (0:58) then goes back to default.
Touching or scratching our nose can indicate doubt of what the person did/said or what we're about to do/say. This also goes in hand with wanting to cover our face. Upon words or gestures that we consider unpleasant, we cover our face in some way. It's a micro-itch.
If it was an actual itch, the act wouldn't have been so quick. Even when the person is aware they're being observed, scratching that quickly would leave the person unsatisfied and would try to scratch again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"The demon Crowley has to be cool and have swagger. David - there's no one better." - MS
"And there's no one more intrinsically good than Michael Sheen." _DT
It's just Michael gushing about David and David then David doing the same to Michael. Both their smiles when talking and listening are genuine.
At this point they have known each other for about 2 years, they're more comfortable giving and taking compliments from each other.
Tumblr media
"It's all slightly camp isn't it? There's something like in a very happy-go-lucky..."
Both their faces show how confused they are by what the interviewer is saying. Stiff smiles, eyebrows slightly furrowed, eyes 'What is he talking about?'
Michael's body is now turned more towards David and the hosts, instead of forward. David is also resting his leg over the other, still laid back and hand in place. Both have relaxed a bit more since the interview stared.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, for 'it's a buddy story'.
Above, is when they're told it's a love story. David's face and hand says 'yeah, pretty much' but Michael - is something else.
In the past he's said it himself that Aziraphale and Crowley are in love with each other but here, there's a problem. Corner of the mouth retract, not into a smile, just go back, eyebrows are raised, and eyes become smaller. 'Eh, not so...'
He then says "Well, it's a, it's a, it's a buddy story."
Michael looks at David, then at the hosts for a split second, checking their reaction, then again at David.
At 'buddy story' and after, Michael closes his eyes for a significant amount of time. Distancing himself from what is being said and thinking up the rest of his answer that ends with him saying they have a bond and that him as the angel, loves Crowley.
"I, as the angel and a being of love, I certainly love him. Does he love me?" - MS
"He wouldn't possibly comment on that." - DT
Michael, when he says 'I certainly love him' nods down, closes his eyes, and shrugs his body forward. This is something he's not sure of. If he should say this or if him, as Aziraphale, feels this. David plays along, causing Michael to laugh it off - genuinely.
At around minutes 4, the hosts and Michael and David have relaxed. They are all more engaged in the conversation and aren't on ice anymore. Their choice of tones and choice of words change. Michael and David start talking about their families.
Michael is enjoying talking about his father and how everything came about. Using his hands more to express what he's saying and talking more, as well as laughing and not holding much back.
David son's is brought up. His eyes become bigger, his foot moves, then his lips become a line. He doesn't want to speak on the topic and doesn't feel comfortable doing so.
They ask if him or his wife are worried for their son and David takes a deep breath in, trying to calm himself, then his eyes widen, scratches the back of his head = doubt, nervousness.
David does think his kid is a good actor and that he can't say no to him becoming an actor.
At the very end of the interview, David shows more energy, moving around and talking loudly, while Michael observes and laughs at what he's doing.
This interview, like the rest from season one, is so stiff. Neither of them know what to say and if what they do say is okay. Compliments are fine now, but going as far as involving love is still a touchy subject on both ends. They don't know if it's okay. They do laugh and joke around much faster than before and seek each other for support.
Thank you for sending this video! This interview, even though it's just 7 minutes, did have SO much going on!

I don’t expect you to answer this and you probably don’t care about someone getting wound up at you on tumblr, but I read that meta the Anon you reblogged was supposedly about. The author posting the whole thing and using your tags as an example of how it had been so grievously misrepresented or misunderstood made it even worse because not only were you right, the list somehow included even more outlandish examples than the ones in the original post.
I’m laughing because I can’t believe that person cared enough to respond at all, let alone respond to offhand tags that are literally 100% correct.
Anyway I haven’t read the post but it’s totally ok if some people think crowley isn’t as babygirl. That’s such an outlandish opinion that is directly contradicted by the text at every turn that I can’t truly care about it. Crowley can’t even kill some goats. Crowley is endeared by a little girl who wants to be turned into a lizard. Crowley offers to make a hot chocolate for the dude he is terrified of and despises. Crowley grins like the sun when he thinks he’s getting Maggie and Nina to fall on love. Truly it is only by the grace of David Tennant’s acting that this guy has any demon swagger left

Pro Wrestling Illustrated: March 2024
THE LOCKUP
BY BRIAN R. SOLOMON
WHEN YOU’VE BEEN following this great sport as long as I have, you start to get a real sense for when something just works … when someone has something special, and is destined to make it big. Sometimes, it might take a very long time. And it might even seem like it’s never going to happen. But for some, it just takes longer, and, if they have the right combination of determination, skill, and luck, it happens.
LA Knight is one of those people. I’ve known it for years, but it’s nice to see the rest of the business finally catch up.
The year 2023 was a watershed moment in the 20-year career of WWE’s newest phenomenon. This marked the time when Knight finally broke through and did something that is so refreshing to see, but is so rarely allowed to happen in today’s industry: He got over organically. The fans made him into a superstar; not the office. He’s not a corporate product.
Quite the opposite! LA Knight is someone the office didn’t necessarily see all that much in, but the people felt otherwise. He won them over, and now it’s paying dividends, as WWE has a new main-event fan favorite on its hands.
Yes, I’ve heard all the knocks. As this magazine goes to press, LA Knight just turned 41 years old. Guess what? That’s the same age as Asuka, Finn Balor, and Damien Priest. Cody Rhodes, who’s arguably made himself into WWE’s hottest fan favorite main-eventer in the past couple of years, is just three years younger than LA Knight. So are Sami Zayn, Charlotte Flair, and none other than Roman Reigns himself. Sure, Knight has a finite number of years ahead of him as a major, viable wrestling superstar. But you can rest assured he’s primed to make the most of those years. The idea that he’s somehow “too old” for the position he’s in is ludicrous.
[While some critics deride LA Knight for his similarities to Steve Austin and Dwayne Johnson, Brian R. Solomon suggests the rising superstar doesn’t get enough credit for making those influences his own.
It’s funny how one of Knight’s greatest strengths–his ability to tap into the best aspects of what made the stars of the Attitude Era get over–has also been called out by some as a negative. From when I first came to be acquainted with his work years ago, I enjoyed how he seemed to be a hybrid of the best elements of “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and The Rock. If that makes him derivative, then he’s no more derivative than Ric Flair emulating Buddy Rogers, Hulk Hogan emulating “Superstar” Billy Graham, or Dusty Rhodes taking from Thunderbolt Patterson.
In other words, nothing exists in a bubble. The greats of today build themselves on the templates created by the stars of the past. That’s nothing new. And in 2023, a wrestler with the swagger and charisma of the Attitude Era actually stands out from the pack.
Most importantly of all, LA Knight believes himself to be a star, and that belief has spread to the people. He’s willed it for himself, because he knows he’s earned it. That’s what happens when you’ve been scratching and scraping for 20 years to achieve something that means the world to you.
[Eli Drake poses for a photo backstage at a taping of David Marquez’ UWN Primetime Live in September 2020. By that time, WWE brass certainly already had their eyes on the man who would go on to main event against Roman Reigns.
PHOTO BY JUSTIN COTTERELL/UNITED WRESTLING NETWORK]
Since the days of WWE’s Ruthless Aggression–back when TNA and Ring of Honor were in their respective infancies–the man known to his parents as Shaun Ricker has been making his way in the business, and he’s been learning every step of the way. He got his start in the 200s at Ohio’s Heartland Wrestling Association under the watchful eye of legendary trainer Les Thatcher. At the time, HWA served as a developmental system for WWE. Ricker actually made his WWE debut on an episode of Heat in 2006, teaming with another young unknown, Jon Moxley, in a handicap match against The Big Show.
In what would be the start of a pattern, he wasn’t quite able to break through. And when WWE ended its relationship with HWA in 2009, Ricker moved on, hitting the West Coast and becoming a standout of the California independent scene.
Part of that campaign meant becoming a regular at David Marquez’ Championship Wrestling from Hollywood, then a flagship member of the NWA. This TV exposure started to show what he could do, and earned him a tryout with NXT in 2013. But his first run there would turn out pretty uneventful, consisting of half a year of house shows and dark matches. It just wasn’t his time yet.
In 2015, the future LA Knight got his first big break in TNA/IMPACT, where he also took on the name many fans first knew him under: Eli Drake. He spent the next four years there, honing his skills against some of the best in the business, and even holding the IMPACT World championship for five months. For most performers with his age and experience, that might have been the peak. For him,it was just the precursor.
After leaving IMPACT in 2019, Drake reached a whole new audience as one of the cornerstone stars of Billy Corgan’s new incarnation of the NWA, where he held the NWA World tag team title with James Storm. But the pandemic put a crimp in things and halted much of the NWA’s production in 2020. By the time it started back up again, Eli Drake had been snatched up by WWE, sent to NEXT, and given a whole new name.
Even then, success was far from a sure thing, as fans know all too well. Saddled with the unfortunate Max Dupri persona–and even shoehorned into the role of manager by Vince McMahon, who just didn’t see him as a top player–the man rose above it all, proving that even Vince can be wrong sometimes.
Thankfully, Paul Levesque believed in LA Knight and, gradually, Knight took the reins. A feud with Bray Wyatt, in which Knight was positioned as nothing more than a stepping stone, instead proved the catalyst for his dramatic transformation into a superstar on the rise.
Tired of getting so close but falling short of where he knew he belonged, LA Knight took control of his own destiny. After all these years, the taste of success is that much sweeter. Now, everyone is saying his name, and likely will be for some time to come.

Review: Terrifier 3
Terrifier 3 (2024)

Score: 4 out of 5
With Terrifier 3, the little indie splatter horror franchise that could has entered "franchise mode". On top of its advertising, its merchandising, its tie-in single by Ice Nine Kills, and its staggering box-office success, the movie itself makes Art the Clown as much the main character as its returning heroine Sienna Shaw, with nearly every kill now a horrifying set piece of explosive carnage and Art's sidekick from the last movie, the ambiguously demonic Little Pale Girl, upgraded to a co-villain in her own right as she possesses somebody and joins in on the action herself. The best comparison I can think of is A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, though I'd argue that this is the better movie of the two by a wide margin, one that not only cleans up the biggest flaw that held back its predecessor but also manages to be a twisted, explosive celebration of practical effects work unbound by the MPA (as in, they just up and released this unrated knowing damn well it would've gotten an NC-17 the second they showed up at the MPA's offices). It's a big, swaggering splatterfest that's as bonkers as its killer clown villain, and while it does unfortunately introduce some new flaws that leave me wondering if Damien Leone, the writer, director, and main visionary behind this series, is getting lost in the weeds a bit with his creation, this is otherwise one hell of an experience.
Set five years after the events of the last movie, our protagonist Sienna Shaw, who has spent her time in and out of psychiatric care thanks to what she experienced in her last encounter with Art the Clown, has just left the hospital to live with her aunt Jess, uncle Greg, and little cousin Gabbie. The idea of a slasher sequel focusing on how traumatized the final girl has become is not a new idea (all the way back in the '90s, Scream 2 and Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later built their heroines' arcs around it), but this movie does it well, in its characteristic fashion. Lauren LaVera gets another great opportunity to play Sienna as more than just the "tough chick" horror heroine, somebody who can undoubtedly still kick Art's ass but has also been left a psychological wreck by all the things she's witnessed. She has visions of her dead friends blaming her for their deaths, the last movie's implications that she was going insane all but spelled out in the text now, and she recoils when Gabbie goes snooping in her diary and reads about some of the things she described in there. We get a flashback to Sienna's childhood, her father played by Jason Patric in a cameo, illustrating how she loved him and driving home how much his decline and ultimate death broke her. I find it amusing how the Terrifier films, with their in-your-face violence and lack of subtlety, are sometimes seen as a rejoinder to the "elevated horror" boom of the last ten years, particularly how many such films use their monsters and demons as metaphors for some trauma in the protagonists' pasts, because Sienna's arc in these movies treads very similar waters -- and, for my money, more or less pulls it off. In two movies, Sienna Shaw has become one of the all-time great horror heroines, and LaVera is central to why.
It also helps, of course, to have a real monster for your heroine to face off against. And here, we have not one, but two of them. I've already sung David Howard Thornton's praises for his performance as Art the Clown before, and he largely sticks to what worked in the past, combining great physical comedy with a mean streak a mile wide to make for a sick, sadistic villain who treats everything like one big joke and is clearly enjoying himself as he hunts and torments his victims. At times, Art feels almost like a silent slasher version of Deadpool, a guy who's in on the joke and feels like he wants to let everybody else in on it too. The Little Pale Girl also makes a return, in a sense, this time possessing the first film's lone survivor Victoria Hayes, who begins the film institutionalized after Art had mutilated her face and driven her insane only for Art to break her out. If Art is a slasher version of the Joker, then the possessed Victoria is his Harley Quinn, a female counterpart who is not only just as vicious and terrifying but also serves as his "voice" throughout the film, being the one who directly taunts people through words as opposed to just gestures. Samantha Scaffidi is playing a character almost wholly different from what she was in the first movie, unrecognizable both literally due to her mangled face and figuratively as she partakes in the violence rather than trying to survive it, and she turned out to be the film's secret weapon, somebody who kept the scares grounded even as Art takes the Freddy Krueger route of becoming a more overtly comedic killer. Victoria brought most of the film's genuine scares here versus Art's more cartoonish carnage, and she proved to be a very welcome addition to not only the lore but also, more importantly, the movie as a whole.
That's not to say that Art isn't scary anymore, though. As I've said when discussing the prior films, sheer visceral excess has a weight to it all its own, and when paired with the more comedic elements of his character, that lends him the feeling of a sick, degenerate troll for whom nothing actually matters except his own amusement. This is a movie that happily crosses lines that other slashers wouldn't dare tread near, a gross display of viscera that offers Leone another chance to show off his special effects craftsmanship with the kind of set piece kills that feel like they were concocted by a schoolyard full of kids in a contest to come up with the sickest ways to die. We get a guy getting the skin on his head ripped off, liquid nitrogen being used to freeze a man's flesh before it's smashed off with a hammer, live rats being shoved down a woman's throat and then eating their way out through her neck, a shower scene to rival the infamous bedroom scene from the second film (...who says that doesn't fit there?), beheadings, dismemberments, the works, as well as Art actually "going there" when it comes to one of horror's biggest taboos. These movies are being hyped up at this point as gauntlets for seasoned horror fans to run (and shock others with), and while the tone is too lighthearted for it to really hang with the grossest examples of splatter horror, make no mistake: the warnings that theaters are putting up for this are there for a reason.
The pacing is tighter this time around, showing that Leone has learned from one of the main criticisms of the last movie. It's still just over two hours long, but it moves a lot quicker than before, each hour respectively feeling like the first two acts of a movie that's setting up for a smashing finale but still delivering the goods where it matters. The plot builds on the second film's implications that there was something more cosmic going on than just a simple slasher story, explicitly naming the Little Pale Girl as a demon and strongly implying that Sienna too has an angel in her corner, ultimately ending on a cliffhanger and leaving a lot of open questions that the fourth movie promises to answer. The added lore did a lot to flesh out the story, put some fun twists on a lot of slasher tropes (the final girl, the killer coming back from the dead), and got me interested in seeing the next one. That said, not only does it create a risk of continuity lockout for people who haven't seen any of the other films, especially with how the opening hinges so much on characters and events from the second film, it also naturally means that this movie's own story is incomplete. A lot hinges on whether the fourth movie sticks the landing, and right now, all I can say is this: at least they didn't try to expand on Art's backstory the way the Nightmare sequels did Freddy's or the Halloween sequels did Michael Myers'. His whole deal boils down to the fact that he was such an evil fuckin' bastard in life (which, if you've seen any of these movies... yeah) that the forces of darkness took a liking to him and revived him as their champion to keep killing. It's a simple explanation that preserves his mystique and doesn't detract from what makes him so enjoyable to watch, the kind of thing you'd expect a slasher fan to come up with if they were asked to develop the lore around a slasher villain, and I appreciated it.
The Bottom Line
Terrifier 3 isn't without its flaws, but it's still the best film in the series thus far. If Art the Clown isn't a bona fide horror icon at this point, then it's only because he's still fairly new. Check it out if you've got the stomach.

Did someone call for a Doctor? What about two Doctors? Amid intergalactic levels of hype over the unveiling of 15th Doctor Ncuti Gatwa, returning showrunner Russell T Davies did the impossible and bamboozled Time Lord fans young, old and in-between with the mother of all twists. Gatwa has taken his first bows as the new Doctor. But David Tennant will be hanging around as the… old Doctor?
How is this possible? Until now, it wasn’t. Davies has, however, cheekily reconfigured Time Lord lore by turning the traditional regeneration into “bi-generation”. “That is completely nuts,” says Donna Noble, speaking on behalf of the entire universe.
The Time Lord twist arrives at the end of “The Giggle”, the third of Tennant’s victory lap forays marking the programme’s 60th anniversary. Blitzed by a ray gun wielded by Neil Patrick Harris’s mega-baddy the Toymaker, Tennant turns a “regeneration” shade of orange. And then up pops Gatwa, lacking trousers for some reason. He’s charming, confident – a spaceman with swagger and exactly what you’d want of the latest custodian of the Tardis.
But hang on – Tennant is still around? He and Gatwa are joined literally at the hip and giving off weird levels of physical chemistry – they don’t snog but it feels like they might have. Pulled in two, they separate. “Bi-generation is supposed to be a myth,” gasps Tennant’s Doctor. Gatwa’s Doctor smiles devilishly. Myth has become reality.
The Tardis splits in two, as well – for the first time in TV history, we’ll have to devise a plural for time-hopping police boxes. Tardaux? Tardee? Tardisissss? I have only one brain and I think it’s melting.
The big question is what it all means for Gatwa’s stint as the Doctor. Tennant’s 14th Doctor has gone off to recuperate with Donna and her family, having apparently come down with interstellar PTSD. Yet he’s very much around and could come charging back at any moment – intriguing and very, very Marvel (no coincidence perhaps that the shift in lore comes as Disney + acquires global distribution rites for the franchise).
Yet it also implies that the BBC doesn’t quite trust Gatwa enough to hand him sole custodianship of the sci-fi flagship. Not that the Sex Education star seems too bothered, though. Even without trousers, he’s devilishly good fun – the Doctor we know and love but with enough charm to put his stamp on the character. He’s great – in the meantime, let’s give Davies and Tennant the benefit of the doubt and see how this Double Doctor strategy plays out.
Up to this point, “The Giggle” has been a mishmash of deranged cartoon and Freudian frolic through the Doctor’s psyche. It swings from silly to chilly, from schlock to shock – supporting Davies’s claim the episode is “nuts, completely mad, frightening”.
Fun and fright factor are both down to Neil Patrick Harris’s Toymaker– a notorious nemesis of the Time Lords introduced all the way back in the era of First Doctor William Hartnell. Patrick Harris updates the antagonist– to a point. His take on the manipulative sci-fi Willy Wonka is rooted unapologetically in the 1990s school of big-screen gurning. Harris has seemingly patterned his performance on Jim Carrey circa The Mask. Meanwhile, his big action set-piece is a violent song-and-dance routine to the Spice Girls.
Amid the regeneration, the return of the Toymaker and the general mayhem, there is also, somehow, a plot. When the previous excursion, “Wild Blue Yonder”, ended, the Doctor and returning companion, Donna (Catherine Tate), were back in London and surrounded by unfolding anarchy.
A psychological contagion has unleashed the real-world equivalent of social media on the world. Everybody is convinced they are right and more interested in shouting down people with the opposite view than engaging with them. Cancel culture exists – a monster run amok on the streets of London.
The mania is all part of the Toymaker’s great game. In a flashback to the 1920s, an assistant of Scottish inventor John Logie Baird visits a toy shop adjoining his Soho workshop. He’s there to purchase a ventriloquist’s dummy. But because the toy seller is also the Toymaker, the helper comes away with Stooky Bill, a creepy marionette with a twist.
Stooky Bill was a real person – or a real dummy – and featured in Baird’s pioneering experiments into TV. He was, in other words, history’s first television star. A century on, the Doctor and Donna discover that the signal sending everyone bonkers is Stooky’s deranged laugh – buried inside our TV screens for the past hundred years (don’t think about it too deeply – it will drive you as mad as Stooky Bill).
So it’s off to Soho 1925 to work out what happened to the dummy – an excursion that culminates in a memorable encounter with Stooky Bill’s terrifying widow and their three feral babies.
But before that, Donna has a few questions. Back at Unit HQ, she was introduced to another of the Doctor’s helpers – Bonnie Langford’s Melanie Bush. The Doctor is delighted to see Mel again after so many years. Donna, though, is puzzled. In all their time together, The Doctor never mentioned Mel – though he obviously cared for her.
“You talk about no one ever – you just keep charging on,” she says, half-accusingly as they take the Tardis to Soho. That reluctance to confront his past is why he has regenerated as the 10th Doctor, she suggests. “It’s like you’re staggering, along. Maybe that’s why your old face came back. Maybe you’re wearing yourself out.”
He shrugs her words off. Still, they have stung. When the Toymaker later traps him in his infinite toy shop, he falls apart. “I’m always so certain. I’m all Sonic, Tardis and Time Lord. Take away the toys – what am I now?”
It’s an impressively vexed performance by Tennant and a clue to where the episode is headed. The Toymaker is an old foe, but the Doctor has new woes – such as no longer knowing who he is at a metaphysical level.
With his “bi-generation” as the 15th Doctor, Tennant has moved on to the next part of that journey as Doctor-in-emeritus. On Christmas Day, Whovians will meanwhile catch up with Gatwa for his first solo adventure. What a weird and wonderful – okay, mostly weird – time to be a Doctor Who fan.'

Temperance. Weiser Waite Smith Tarot
Tumblr media
A figure stands at a river, mixing two cups. One is filled with hot water, the other cold water. The figure has one foot in the river, one foot on the ground. In contemporary decks, the figure is often portrayed as an angel; traditionally, however, it is not an angel but a hermaphrodite. Temperance is about blending two extremes, or two opposites, to create something new. The hot and cold water combines in her cups to create something temperate. The male and female bodies are combined to create the hermaphrodite. There is also a sense of hanging back here, of waiting to see what the river will bring to us as it flows. Temperance is represented by the number fourteen. Temperance is an easily misunderstood card, as it has become associated mostly with abstention. Not drinking, not participating, denying yourself something. But that breaks away from the origins of the card, which traditionally portrays a hermaphrodite blending two cups of water—one hot and one cold—to create something in the middle between these two extremes. Ovid’s story of Hermaphroditus shows the child as the offspring of the Greek deities Hermes and Aphrodite. He was born a boy and was so beautiful that even a nymph, sworn to chastity and devotion to the Greek virgin moon goddess Artemis, flung herself at him. Her desire was so strong that they fused into one being, with the sexual characteristics of both male and female. The theme, then, is not about abstention but about finding a middle way. It is about taking two opposites and creating something new. There have been great androgynous women stars, from Marlene Dietrich in a tuxedo to Katharine Hepburn with her swagger and her trousers. Fewer male performers are willing to exhibit their feminine side. The stand-up comedian Eddie Izzard performed in dresses and heels, and the witty Irishman Oscar Wilde grew out his hair to scandalous lengths for his time, but it’s been more socially acceptable for women to express masculinity than for men to express femininity. The so-called glam rock of the early 1970s was an interesting gender-bending era, as men discovered the pleasures of sequins and feathers, eyeliner and lipstick. Musicians such as Marc Bolan of T. Rex, David Bowie, and Brian Eno of Roxy Music dressed up, flirted, and presented themselves in a feminine mode. It’s a bit of a shame that the era ended. If anything, the Temperance card argues against overcorrection—from veering from one extreme to another, like a person who has had a terrible diet for years, filling himself with junk food and beer, and then becomes a militant juice-fast follower and lectures others on how they need to leech out toxins. Or an atheist who converts immediately to a fundamentalist religious belief. Temperance asks you to find another way. Wherever you are the most steadfast, wherever you are the most stubborn and rigid, that is where Temperance is asking you to reconsider your extreme position. If your work is too logical, maybe you need to spend some time with the surrealists. If your work is too minimalist, maybe it’s time to explore decadence. If your work is too feminine, maybe it’s time to pull out that tuxedo. That kind of painstaking rebalancing takes time and patience, because it’s too easy to just grab the steering wheel and wrench it in the opposite direction. hello santa 🥰 i'm so glad you loved 'the rain song', that's probably my favourite song of all time hehe <3 you have great taste.
and thank you for the compliments on my blog omg those made my day, the truth is i'm a perfectionist and a big control freak in some areas and then just a mess in others (you should see my room rn... lol). but my biggest wish with this blog is to provide a little interactive lookbook of my favourite artists' career so that hopefully someone finds something new or has easier access to their history <3
for the question about fashion, i started out as a lover of mod and hippie fashion as well! then my taste expanded to other decades and styles, until i finally found my home again in the sixties and seventies. i find these two decades' style to be very "experimental", for lack of a better word, and just a lot more fun than other decades! i also like how it reflects young people's political ideals and beliefs at the time of its conceiving because i find those to still ring true in this day and age.
now my style is mostly inspired by jimmy page, david bowie and brian jones. i particularly enjoy taking inspiration from jimmy because his 70s style was not only inspired by contemporary fashion, but was a mix of many different hidden inspirations and interests of his, dating back to the mid 1800s, up to the then present day. he's always been quite the mysterious, captivating guy, tempted by the unknown, fascinated by all sorts of esoteric arts, forever passionate about mysticism.
fashion was one of the very few ways you could - even if never entirely - almost read him, read his mind, get even just a slight glimpse of his alluring, untold secrets.
and since me and jimmy share a lot of the same interests, when i first found him i knew i wanted to be like him and look like him... so now a good part of my wardrobe is inspired by him.
as for david bowie... he was one of the greatest fashion innovators of his generation. while not having created the glam rock genre altogether - he had always considered himself as a "sponge", meaning he could quickly pick up a specific quality from someone he was inspired by and make it part of his own character and artistic persona - he was responsible for widely spreading that type of music among young people and revolutionising early 1970's fashion. his colorful, provocative outfits, both ideologically and sexually, and irresistible swagger are still extremely revolutionary through the eyes of a young person who turns to rebellion as a way of surviving mundane, monotonous life - such as me.
(other glam rock fashion icons i find myself inspired by as of lately are the entire sweet band, marc bolan and todd rundgren!)
and lastly, brian jones. him and jimi hendrix, together the most outrageous-looking hippies of all rock and roll, have made quite an impression on me ever since i started getting into 60s music. their bold, dandy-looking clothing choices reveal them as firm believers in the left-leaning youth movements of their time while also highlighting and uplifting individual taste, simply making them look like charisma from head to feet.
i could go on forever talking about all my style icons and inspirations but it's better if i stop rambling now haha, thanks for the question santa! talk to you soon :')

"The Cairnes (Director/Brothers) know very well the contemporary media landscape they’ve made their movie, in. What’s more: They know how much equipped we are to spot a landscape’s rockier, questionable terrain—where the trap doors are, and perhaps even 👿 WHO’S pulling the drawstring. So we sit a little straighter when Jack’s supposed psychic guest, the theatrical 👺 christou (Fayssal Bazzi), experiences a bracing episode after playing the live audience for 🤡 FOOLS, his fake accent and swagger suddenly lost as he thrashes about trying to decrypt mysterious signals he’s receiving. 'Well, this certainly seems real,' 🐏🐑 we think, and though you can see the same thought forming behind Jack’s eyes, he’ll forge ahead anyway. This is more of a movie that teases out how far it’ll go, rather than a mystery over whether its antagonist/protagonist has retained any morality; Even in this respect, however, 'Late Night with the Devil' only ever approaches blood-curdling if this is your FIRST taste of date-with-the-devil horror."

Oooo what sort of fantasy hybrid? Will there be more magic, like in Shared Hearts?
Also I am dying to know who is swapping bodies and when.
Fantasy hybrids.
James (Hinch) rescues abused/cast off hybrids in this fantasy world. His first rescue was FoxMarco, found beaten half to death in the forest. Next is Conor, who is fully human but is supposed to be a hybrid. Grumpy asshole CatRossi was found filthy and holed up in an alley, hissing and swatting at anyone who came near. Marco is the only one he likes. Bunny?Colton (undecided on animal) was kept in a cage outdoors and James actually bought him from his owner. Latest rescue, KittenPalou, shy and skittish, prone to hiding under/behind anything he can.
Colton is the one to coax Palou out of hiding. And later, Marco brings home BunnyDavid with no explanation. Alex grumbling under his breath after Marco leaves David in his care yet doesn't let the boy out of his sight, growls at anyone who comes near and yanks David into a cuddle as soon as he sees Marco coming.
I don't know about magic and I dunno about plot other than just getting to know everyone but this idea has been in my brain for nearly 6 months and I will write it someday.
Body swap
So far I have 5 unconnected but in the same universe ideas.
David wakes up in Josef's body "Omg, I'm Josef!" Spends time admiring himself in the mirror. Leaves the bus and soon sees his own body swaggering toward him. "I could look like that?" "Of course, kid. It's all in the confidence." Josef coaches David about acting confident. "Pull my shoulders back, puff up my chest. We both know that's a gorgeous body, show it off!" Back at Josef’s bus, Josef wants them to get naked and David turns shy. Josef - “Darling, don’t even try to tell me that you didn’t have a good look at that body – my body – before you got dressed. Not that I blame you. I am beautiful.” David can’t deny it. Josef ran his hands over his thighs – David’s thighs. “Let me tell you, these things are impressive. You’re a gorgeous boy now and you’ll knock them dead when you get to be my age.” Later, because they have to have sex to swap back. Josef: Damn, I do have a fine ass. I've always wanted to know what it's like to fuck me." They swap back halfway through the sex and David finds out what it's like to fuck Josef.
Pato and Rossi swap and Felix thinks it's hilarious. Pato: You're so tall. I feel like I'm going to hit my head on the clouds. Rossi: How do you function being so short? I can't reach anything. Pato: looking down at Felix: I could be shorter. Felix: Hey! Pato, in Rossi's body, picking Felix up: "Oh, okay, this is good." Felix is unamused. Rossi conflicted when it gets to the sex because he's a top, damn it but also he's not going fuck himself.
Conor and Marcus both run to Callum frantic knocking on Callum’s door. “Conor?” “No, it’s me, Marcus.” “What the fuck?” “I don’t know how it happened. You have to help me.” Invite him in, sitting down. “Why does this thing keep beeping at me?” Callum’s eyes widen. “Conor’s diabetic.” More knocking on the door. It’s Conor in Marcus’s body. Marcus is expected at Ganassi. Conor usually works out in the morning. Decide to go be each other the best they can. Conor’s a chevy driver, not like he’ll learn anything at a honda shop. Conor follows Marcus back to Conor’s place and gives him a crash course on managing the diabetes, just to get him through til lunch. At lunch, Marcus is all “Don’t you dare put meat in my body.” After lunch, Callum. “Okay, you guys need to fuck to swap back.” Marcus. “But I don’t even know him.” Conor’s okay to do it. Callum. “Do you want your body back? This is the only way.” Marcus insisted Callum stay while they do it.
Dario and Callum body swap It's minutes before the race is going to start. Callum as Dario manages to get to Dario. "There's no time, Dario. You have to drive for me." "I haven't driven since 2013!" "It's like riding a bike. You can do it. You have to." Dario as Callum finishes 4th. Dario as Callum is mad because he would've been on the podium had they body-swapped with time to practice. Callum as Dario is relieved because he'd be pissed if Dario podiumed for him and 4th is amazing anyway.
Palou wakes up as Rossi in bed with James. “I did not know they were together.” Rossi wakes up as Palou in bed with Pato. Pato’s awake and rubbing against Rossi, kissing his chest. Oh fuck. “Pato, no. Pato, stop. I’m Alex.” Pato lifts his head. “I know you’re Alex. You were Alex last night when you…” Rossi slapped a hand over Pato’s mouth. He did not need to hear that. “No, I’m Rossi. Alex Rossi. We body swapped.” Pato blinks at him in sleepy confusion until it sinks in. “Oh. OH!” He scrambled off the bed. Rossi slammed his eyes shut. He knew the two were playing around but he did NOT need to see that much of his teammate.

Do you think Crowley has insecurities about his eyes? I think he probably hides them as to not make humans scared/ uncomfortable but I also wonder if he also does it because he feels insecure about them. He's such a difficult character to work out. He comes across as body confident in the way he presents himself but perhaps its a facade? Either way he's very beautiful and I'm sure Aziraphale tells him that ;P
Hi, Anon! Oh, I love this, seeing as how i haven’t gotten a question about Crowley in a while. Let’s get a few visuals of Crowley and those gorgeous eyes up here first:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When I think of Crowley, I don’t think of him being insecure about his body. I think he knows his corporation very well, having chosen it carefully and specifically. It’s lived in, but in a different way to Aziraphale, who stays the same in his preferences/loves/aesthetics, but never seems fully comfortable in his body. Crowley’s body is lived in because it’s constantly changing, because he is adorning and outfitting it to match every new era. He knows what looks good on him and knows what to do with his body because it is an instrument of temptation, adaptable to the needs and desires of any human he comes across.
But when it comes to Crowley’s eyes, I tend to think of the old saying, “the eyes are windows to the soul.” I don’t think he feels insecure about the physical eyes themselves, but rather about what they represent: A window into his own soul, a soul that is Fallen--demonic, broken, and the one piece of him that he can’t get rid of. So he hides it by showing himself off, if that makes sense.
The thing is, you can cover up your eyes with glasses, and you can cover your body with tunics and robes and Scottish nanny fetishwear and suits of armor...but you can’t cover your soul. And I truly do think that the one person, being, entity who sees past the “flash bastard” persona Crowley puts up is Aziraphale.
When Aziraphale tells Crowley that he is beautiful--and I believe he does, at great length--I don’t think he is referring to Crowley’s physical body. (Though there is no question Aziraphale loves Crowley’s corporation and crepes...in that order.) He’s telling Crowley that he is beautiful--his soul. That in six thousand years, he’s shared a bed with so many bodies, but laid in the arms of only one soul--Crowley’s. And all the comforts, the sushi, the tartan, the books, have been comforting because he gets to look into Crowley’s eyes while enjoying them.
So those are pretty much my thoughts on Crowley’s feelings about his eyes. I do agree with you though that he is a difficult character to work out, and I’m truly looking forward to the second season and seeing what else we find out about him...

i think; therefore i am || part two
{ fem!witch reader x poly!the lost boys }
|| part one ||
Tumblr media
part rating: general
word count: 4,340
part summary: after the encounter with the ruthless gang of vampires on the board walk y/n finds themselves keeping their distance from the boardwalk and doing business other places. a choice of a movie night brings she to encounter a new suspicion and familiar faces. even then they have to embrace her action after coming face to face with one of the daunting vampires.
warnings: use of magic, witchcraft, vampires, marko being sweet, david being a prick, and late night encounters.
A bell rings in your ears as you push your way through the colorful door into the buzzing video store. The music reverberates from the speakers above your head and the smell of floor cleaner invades your nose. The upbeat store gave you some relief from the stress from the past couple of days. Since the encounter with the creatures of the night, you have been avoiding the boardwalk hustling around near the city or keeping your distance in the more unknown parts of the boardwalk. You trail your way past the front desk where all the registered rested admiring the acrylic frames not paying attention to the man with neat hair and glasses that watched your figure pass by with curiosity. A low hum left your nose as you tuned in with the words of La Bamba. The first section you instantly hit was the comedy section, your black-painted fingers trailed over the spines of the VHS covers with precision as you tried to make your decisions. You snatch the case for Ghostbusters. As you do you could feel eyes burning into the back of your head. You carefully turned around to see where your intuition was taking you. Yet it was only the woman behind the counter with big curly hair and an off-shoulder top. Her stare was rather curious. People do stare a lot when you walk into a place. That doesn’t mean it is out of negativity, you guess it’s purely out of curiosity. Your style can be so polar sometimes but this time you wore a pair of bootcut jeans and a flowing black poet's top that was paired with heeled boots. The accessories are what you think to draw people’s attention with the stacked sterling rings, the crystal earrings, and a large ornate belt such as you were wearing today to cinch the waist of the flowing shirt.
Her eyes scan over your outfit, eventually coming to your eyes, you make eye contact and give her a knowing nod and a smirk before turning back around. Pressing the movie against your chest, tapping a rhythm on the plastic with your fingernails as you make your way to the horror section taking your time. The music mixed with the soft sounds of TVs caused your senses to buzz from a sensory overload. You squat to the ground and carefully graze over the horror section, there wasn’t much to the collection but there were some decent picks. A sigh left your nose as you reached out to pinch Cujo’s spine between your fingers. As you do a wet substance appears on your cheek. You whip your head to a tan shepherd sniffing you and your hair. A jolt in surprise at the sudden appearance of the dog, your heart races for a minute before a smile cracks along your nude painted lips. The dog pants and sits patiently waiting for you to pet him.
You chuckle at pat the dog’s head, “There you are Thorn! I am so sorry. He has a habit to sneak up on customers when they’re down so low.” You look up to follow the mysterious, yet harmfully charismatic, voice and it was the man who was standing at the front counter when you walked in. With your hand still petting the hound named Thorn, you stand fully to greet the neat man. “Oh no! You’re okay, he did give me quite the fright but he is too cute. His good looks made up for it.” You beam at the mysterious man. As you adjusted the movies on your side you saw his hand shot out, “I’ll take those for you. Assuming you want to keep looking for more movies to watch tonight.”
You chuckle lightly and hand the two movies out to him, “I think this will be all tonight, thank you, erm..” You trail off trying to see if he wore a nametag on his blazer but there wasn’t one.
“Max, my name is Max,” he introduces with a charming smile that would make any woman swoon if they had the weakness too.
“I am guessing you’re the Max that’s on the name of the store. Well, it is wonderful to meet you,” you greet back with a welcoming smile. Your eyes scan his face, looking over every faint crack and freckle on his face. Once your eyes met him there was an unsettling feeling that grew in your stomach. One you knew all too well.
“Well, then! Would you like to check out for tonight, ma’am?” He asks motioning his full hand of the VHS’ towards the counter.
You swallow and give a curt nod. As you walk you could feel Thorn brushing against your leg as you did. This made you more cautious of what the dog might be if the dark energy pulsating from the man would be. You rested your hands gently on the counter and stood as still as a statue but you tried your best to remain relaxed in the situation you were granted. There was something wrong with the owner of the store and you knew how well he was masking it. His haughty get-up of a loud button-up shirt and neat tie was something you couldn’t get past.
“So I’ve never seen you around here!” Max’s voice booms through your line of thought causing your head to whip up to face him.
“Yeah, I’m just passing through. Couldn’t help it when I saw the boardwalk. It’s a wonderful sight,” You reply with a passing smile before tucking a strand of hair behind your ear acting bashful and shy.
“It is quite beautiful. But you got to be careful here, it’s not the safest place for a young woman like you.” He advises as he scans the barcodes of the cases before popping them open to double-check if there was a VHS in them. You caught his eyes trailing over you, his warm and welcoming eyes now something of a dark glower. His eyes changed though once he noticed you staring back at him.
“Oh, thank you, Max, for the warning. But I got it.” You reassure and reach back into your back pocket to fish out the money clip that you kept. As you pull it out the front doorbell trills to announce another customer has entered.
You didn’t look up as you fingered through the bills to find a ten-dollar bill through all the ones. The low rumbling from Thorn by your ankles is what caused you to cautiously lookup. You look up to see the four vampires from a couple of nights ago walk into the store with such confidence it could’ve convinced you that they owned the place. Your eyes widen a bit and your fist clenches the ten-dollar bill making it more wrinkled than before.
The leader only smirks at you as swaggers his way through the store. Following was the dark brunette with daggers for eyes then it was the two blondes. The fishnet-clad one looked at you with caution while the curly-haired one looked at you with an expression of curiosity and wonder. His golden curls were pushed back into a low ponytail this night that draped over his ornate jacket. You could feel he wanted to approach you and that he wasn’t hostile. Unlike the others. Out of your surprise, you try to match their energy of fierceness.
“I thought I told you, boys, you aren’t welcome here,” Max barks at them, his voice sounded so gravely and polar to the appealing one before.
The leader snaps his eyes to the owner of the store and his smirk drops, the smirk turned into a frown for a split second. His eyes trace it’s way back to you, “Relax, we just wanted to check out the new features you got in here.” The platinum blonde clarified as the rest of the boys behind him scatter through the store murmuring to themselves and messing with some of the VHS covers.
Max glares at the platinum blonde before turning back to you, “I’m so sorry about the mess in here,”
You couldn’t help but crack a smirk at the hit at the group of punks. You tilt your head at Max to shake your head, “No problem, they’re only looking for a feature for the night.” You comment flicking your eyes to see if the leader was still glaring at you. He wasn't, he was off looking through the horror flicks while the other three were flirting with the tanned woman behind Max. You place the ten down on the counter and swiftly grasp the two movie boxes. “Thank you, Max, I’ll see you soon,” you bid goodbye with a nod being careful not to trip over Thorn as you make your way to the door.
“Oh! Ma’am, rental lasts five days!” Max calls out to you as you were already halfway out the door. You pause and turn back to him, tapping your rings around the metal door handle. “Thank you,” you thank the owner, but your eyes switched to the four who were watching you with sharp eyes. Each feline in its own way.
Your feet carry you quickly to your red truck where you unlock the door from the keys that were attached to your hip. Getting in and slamming the door shut your eyes never left the five figures as you pumped the clutch and set the vehicle in reverse. You only tore your eyes away when you turned to look behind you to see if there was any oncoming traffic. Yet when your head swiveled back to the front you saw the ragged punks standing in front of the store by their bikes. The thing that caught you off guard was the little finger wave the monarch decorated gave you with his most feigned sweetened smile. The sight gave your stomach a fuzzy feeling and your head to buzz. “Time to make a circle,” you grumble to yourself speeding off into the night.
Tumblr media
Later that night you cast a protection circle around your little caravan that you claimed to be your home. It sat on a sigil etched into the soft earth below the sanctuary. Casting it drained you that night, it had been a while since you had to cast around an area that was relatively large. It surrounded the shelter along with the little pathway you created with stones.
Exhausted, you lay on your bed facing the little compact TV as Ghostbusters entertained your drained mind. Finn rested perfectly into your side watching the movie as well. His tail swaying in amusement. His mewl caused you to roll your eyes as the green slime ghost floated through a wall after slimming one of the busters. “It’s only a movie, Finn, it’s for entertainment purposes. Are you going to do this with every movie I bring home? How about I put in Cujo instead?” You suggest acting like you were going to get up and fetch the movie from the living area. Finn was quick to put his paw on your abdomen to stop you. You smirk at the short-haired feline, “That’s what I thought. Now just enjoy the movie.” You swear you saw your sassy familiar roll his eyes at you. A huff leaves your lips and you plant your ring decorated hand on his side patting him which turns into short pets as you bring your focus back on the movie.
A moment later you started to hear the continuous tick on the roof of your caravan. It wasn’t supposed to rain. So what the hell is making that sound? Your brows furrow as your head tilts back to hear another tick. Silent beat, tick. Finn meows at you and starts to stand on the cushioned bed arching his back to stretch, “Gee, my savior.” You gibed at the black feline as you shuck on your shawl over your silk nightgown. Approaching your door you inhaled deeply, there was someone outside. Instantly your circle was warning you. The energy beamed around it causing a rhythmed pulse around your home.
Slowly opening the door a pebble fell at your feet. You reach down to grasp it and trek your eyes to dirty brown boots. Your eyes graze up the figure, leather chaps over denim, then the jacket that was so decorated it was an enigma itself. The jacket hovered over a white wife beater crop top, then on the shoulder deeply curled golden locks.
You don’t say anything, you're frozen, staring at the vampire in front of you. “How the hell did you find me?” You hiss with interrogation laced in your voice, but the vampire doesn't budge. In fact, he looks scared a bit. His hands were shoved into the pockets of his decorated jacket. His spine hunched the slightest making him seem smaller as he waits for an opportunity to talk. The expression doesn’t fool you, your eyes are still as sharp as ever. You step down from your home as your eyes start to glow purple and your hands spread as purple shadows form balls in your palms.
The cautious vampire takes a hesitant step back, “I followed your truck.” He answers with wide attentive eyes.
“Why did you follow me? Did your friends ask you?” You postulated with a tight tone. His only response was a shake of his head. Now you were getting annoyed. “Then why are you here?!” You growled which caused him to jostle just the slightest, taken aback as the purple wisps grow in size with your glowing eyes joining.
“I came to ask for my gloves and ring back,” Marko states straightening out his posture and fixing his tone to sound more confident and demanding. You blink at him lowering your hands just slightly. “Did anyone follow you?” Your query, quirking your eyebrow up searching his deadpan features for answers.
“No,” he responds bluntly, keeping still against the sea breeze that thrusts its way around the two of you. You listened to the whispers in his head, it wasn’t hard to penetrate. He was being open. The realization caused you to drop your hands to your sides. He knew you were going to look through his head to see if he was telling you the truth. Marko really didn’t have anything to hide. The boys didn’t even know he was there. You saw him tell them he was going to grab a bite to eat.
“Alright, give me a moment.” You grumble turning back into the caravan. Marko rustles towards the edge of the circle. His clear eyes trailing over the circle with symbols inside of it. He reached out but was blocked by a sheer purple field. Marko pulled his hand back in a hurry. “It’s a protection circle.” You inform him with his fingerless gloves in the palms of your hands. You picked them up. You don’t know why you did, something urged you to take them back with you. What was the universe trying to tell you? You approach the edge of the circle only a foot away from the vampire. “No one can enter unless I grant them, no matter what being.” You unfold your hands to reveal his weathered gloves and a golden ring in the middle of them.
You pluck the ring, it was heavily made of solid gold with a comet on it. Your eyes linger on it trying to figure out the symbol and what its meaning could be. “Ain’t it pretty?” Marko asks, examining it with you outside of the waves of purple energy. You nod, “Yeah, it’s a nice ring.” You compliment the accessory, you could feel the history off of the object. It had seen so much, but few owner’s which made you hesitant to look deeper into the history of the gold ring.
“You know what the comet means?”
You shake your head peering back up to Marko. It was strange how calm you were now and how cool and collected he was.
“It’s the Dragon Order. Providence of the Romanian Boyers. The Dragon Order was dedicated to the destruction of the Turks. They were killed by the tens of thousands. Do you know how?”
You shake your head once more, eyes wide with curiosity.
“They were impaled on rounded wooden stakes left in the fields to rot.” Marko grins as he answered his own questions, his voice full of amusement as if it was an inside joke. You could only chuckle at the significance of home wearing such an accessory.
“Wow, I wasn’t expecting that.” You shook your head as a smile grew on your lips. Your eyes scan the ring once more before placing it back into the middle of the gloves.
“I wasn’t either when the bastard told me that story,” he bewailed with his brown eyes glued to the signet. You purse your lips together and reach out with one hand extending. As you reach out the purple sheen carefully separates from your hand allowing you access to reach out to him. Marko pulled his hands out of his leather jacket and gently grabbed the gloves to fold over the ring. As he took it from your hand his touch lingered behind. The touch sent electricity through your nerves which caused you to move your hand away fast. Marko gave a smirk at you as he slipped them back on. “Thanks,” he mumbles and slips the ring on his pinky finger, he runs the pad of his thumb over the comet then drops his hands to his sides.
You tilt your head at the action watching his expression carefully, you tried to read him but you were shut out once again. Marko flicked his eyes to you, “You’re welcome, Marko.” You whisper back, folding your arms over your chest so the shawl granted a shield against the night winds. Marko bit his lip with a bob of his head, his eyes raked over you once more as he took a few steps back. There was an urge in you to speak up. It punched at your diaphragm for your voice to come out and speak. Speak to him, the whispers rang.
“Marko! I’m sorry!” You call out to the blonde as he was partially down the hill. He stops in his tracks and turns on his heel, his expression clearly showing confusion. You tilt your head to your feet, “I didn’t mean to hurt you during the reading. That wasn’t my intention.” You state, your voice wavering. Marko looks behind his shoulder before wiping his thumb over his lip. Walking back he shakes his head, “Then what happened?” He questions genuinely confused, he really was. Since that night he can only feel episodes of phantom pain and the soreness lasted a couple of days. He’d never seen anything like your magic in his hundred years of living. “You said you’d do a palm reading, but once you touched my hand you went ballistic.”
“I can’t control what happens sometimes,” you start taking a deep breath, “Sometimes the magic likes to control me. Normally when I do a palm reading on a human I can see vaguely of what their future proposes.” You explain. Your fingers tighten on your shawl turning your knuckles white and your shoulder started to shudder as you are reminded of the vision and the pain. The scream of pain and fear, the pain of the wooden stake in his chest. You swallow to relieve the tension in your throat.
“You are not human, so what I saw was more powerful than I would see on an average being.”
“Then what did you see? Because it hurt like hell, not going to lie.”
You blink and clear your throat, hesitant on trying to explain the vision of his death to him. That is something a vampire, an immortal being doesn’t like to hear. “I saw… I saw… I saw your death,” you choke out hugging yourself with your arms crossed.
Marko’s folded arms drop and his furrowed brows unknot themselves for a beat. “What?” Marko asks in clear confusion before knitting his brows back together but tighter. “You saw my death? What does that even mean?”
“I-I don’t know,” you whisper breathlessly carefully holding onto your breath thanking your lucky stars you were behind the protective line. Yet, Marko didn’t seem mad or frustrated, he only seemed confused and lost. “The future is bleak, never set in stone. I don’t know who did it. I only saw it through your eyes. I felt it too.”
“So your magic rebounded back to me? Making me feel my own death?” He presses the pad of his index finger onto his chest over where his heart would be. You nod carefully, swiping your tongue over your lower lip. “Yes, then once you were attacked by my magic that’s when your friend started to charge towards me before I could even catch my breath. So on instinct, I acted.” Marko slowly nods at this answer, his lips pouted as he took in all the information trying to file it in his brain for later reference. When he didn’t answer back that was when you started to show a bit of worry about your features.
“Just remind me to not hold hands with you for a while then,” Marko teases his once look of engrossment turned into mirth. You were so caught off guard by the statement a breathy chuckle left your parted lips. You nod as well as a smile growing on your lips, “I’ll keep that in mind if we ever try to do a reading again.”
“Don’t sweat it, really. I understand now.” Marko discerned raising his brows and stuffing his hands back into his leather jacket. “I should go now, they will be wondering where I am,” Marko suggests nodding his head over in the direction of the boardwalk. You bob your head and give him a warm smile. He lingers for a moment watching you carefully. His warm brown eyes take in your form under the high silvery moonlight. Enjoying the way the shadows cascade your features. He notes the embroidered shawl around your shoulders and the black silk nightgown that draped over your body. He bit his lower lip to halt himself from pressing any further into your night. As he was about to step back he could feel your warm hand on his chest. Fingers ghosting over the bare skin that was above the collar. He flickered his eyes to yours, the orbs widened in bewilderment. Your touch made his skin feel fuzzy, even though your hand was barely putting any pressure he felt like he could feel every twitch of your hand. Marko bores into your eyes as you give him a reassuring smile.
“The future is yours. The future is not something to be predicted on but to be built on.” Your voice was honey to his ears. It was warm and comforting just like your touch. Out of instinct his hand hovers and places it on yours. His fingers brush over the stacked rings before pushing your hand to put more pressure on his chest. Marko doesn’t say a word, but his eyes run wild with wonder and gratitude. He dips his head after a beat of silence between the two of you. Nothing but the whispering of the winds and the thrashing of the waves. Marko drops your hand and takes a step back, admiring the purple sheen separate and close once more as your hand returns to your side. He flashes you a reassuring smile as he takes a couple of steps back his boots making the dirt and gravel separate underneath him. You watch him as he turns around, taking in the detail of the tapestry of the bare woman on his back.
Bringing your thumbnail to your teeth you chew on it out of nerves. A soft meow is what brings your attention back to the caravan. You look down at Finn for a second before whipping your head to see if Marko was still there and he wasn’t. You sigh against the wind wondering if he ran or flew away.
Another meow. You turn on your heel to Finn, “No, he’s gone. Nothing to worry about. It’s his friends I got to worry about. Now get back inside, you barely have any fur to keep you warm.” You lecture stepping back in the caravan with a retaliating mewl echoing from your bedroom. Your eyes peer through the door, glancing at your surroundings once more as you slowly close the door. You spot the place where Marko was standing, a small clearing where his boots rummaged the dirt around. You click the door shut and rest your forehead against the metal.
Finn trills at you from the bedroom with impatience, “I am coming! Jeez, can’t be without me ten minutes can you? What would you ever do without me?” You tease the Devon Rex who clearly rolls his eyes at you. In reaction you point your index finger at him, “I saw that! Now let me finish this movie in peace, please. No more snarky comments.”
You plot yourself back on the bed shuffling underneath the abundance of blankets. You shake off your shawl and place it neatly on your nightstand. Even though you watched the movie for the rest of the night you couldn’t shake the look Marko gave you when his hand touched yours.  Why did his eyes show more than he was expressing on his face. You could long into them for hours and still, learn new things with each passing minute.
A sigh escaped your lips as sleep started to lull you into a hypnotized state. The weight of the blankets and Finn resting by your side let you fully realize you were safe and at peace for the rest of the night. That didn’t mean when you dreamt you envisioned golden curls that radiated light or the green speckled brown eyes of a familiar vampire.

what’s each member’s flirting style? and are they an introverted or extroverted couple?
oooooh ok so flirting styles:
(warning: unnecessary meta incoming. it's funny bc i was just thinking the other day about how every time we saw emma 'flirt' with a man in canon it was in that kind of performative means to an end tactic she has - working as a bailbondsperson, tricking past!hook etc so we literally never saw her actually flirt w someone in a genuine way as herself) (bc she would never genuinely flirt w a man because she's gay but whatever)
so anyway, emma thinks she's a much better flirt than she is but that kind of cockiness actually is attractive on her so like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
she's all about the Gay Swagger, slight teasing/innuendo, that eyebrow raise thing she does - but also she'll sort of self-effacingly make fun of herself even while doing this. part of her flirting is also actually casually offering to do things for you - buying a drink, offering a jacket if you're cold etc. the whole princess charming energy.
i feel like regina does not flirt so much as... Seduce... you know what i mean. this is a lady who is well practised at getting what she wants. it's second nature at this point.
However, when she actually genuinely cares/is enjoying the flirt, her flirting goes up ten levels from just being sexy to like, actually very intelligent witty comebacks and slight challenges delivered in in a very soft, low voice ya know
and when they're flirting with eAch oTheR hooo boi - well, we all saw season one, right? endlessly trying to one up each other with witty comments and wordplay - regina usually wins and is very smug about it, emma does that like fond eye roll thing and The Smirk TM
once they're actually an established couple, their flirting changes so much. it literally just becomes the opposite of that. it becomes the most soft, sweet, silly, sappy stuff that henry finds, frankly, painful to listen to. emma will be making bad puns and using ridiculous over the top pet names as a joke and kissing regina's hand. regina will be like, straightening emma's jacket lapels and ok maybe she actually does keep teasing/challenging but it's in a much soppier and less impressive way
but we love that for them. they are very cute and wholesome deep down
as for introversion/extroversion:
i think individually, emma is an extrovert - who spent most her life thinking she was a grumpy introvert because she had so many defences up and just didn't like people - but gradually as she settles into storybrooke and finds her place with her family and friends, she is def a golden retriever energy extrovert! she does still really value and need time alone, but she gets a lot of energy and joy from being around people.
on the exact opposite, regina is an introvert who spent most of her life forced to behave as an extrovert - cora would have pressured her into social/political situations as a child, as leopold's queen she had to attend every event, as the evil queen obviously she developed this huge persona, but deep down there's still the sensitive horse girl who recharges via quiet alone time. however, she does of course value times with her people and especially her family.
as a couple, they're kind of ambiverts because of this, but i'll lean more towards introverts - they're the mayor/queen and sheriff/saviour so yes they are required to show up to all the events and put in the time with the community, and for the most part they do enjoy doing so, just like they enjoy family time with david and snow. but those events are kind of taxing and they always know where the boundary is.
emma especially is really good at reading when regina is ready to leave somewhere and making a friendly exit
because honestly, after everything they've been through, their favourite time as a couple are the quiet evenings and long mornings by themselves or with their son, just relaxing together.

Excerpts from the SyFy Wire & Film School Rejects interviews with Claire Anderson, the Emmy-nominated costume designer for Good Omens:
[ Film School Rejects - by Ciara Wardlow]  “I worked through it with gut reaction images. So, two guys. Two guys, kind of close, nearly in love, if you like,” she said. “I just went in and we had a really big, very open conversation about how you related to these people in the script and how we would make them real and plausible, but give them a fantasy element. Give them something otherworldly.”
While Anderson says that she ultimately took this approach with more or less all of the characters, mixing period and modern elements to give characters somewhat timeless, yet also somewhat fantastical “out of time” looks, in the early discussion stages it was all about Aziraphale and Crowley. For one thing, Sheen and Tennant were already cast, which was a major help in determining their looks. It took some time to settle on the duo’s main, contemporary looks, but once these were locked in they played a significant role in determining everything else they wore.
[...] Aziraphale maintains a look with significant nods to the late Victorian era. Crowley too, although he manages to put an edgier twist on things than his angelic contemporary. “We re-appropriate bits of period stuff so that it echoes. [Aziraphale and Crowley] echo one another in their visual identity with pieces from their past—where they’ve touched each other in the past perhaps, or bumped into each other.” Regarding how Crowley manages to keep more of a modern, cool vibe, Anderson gives David Tennant’s performance the lion’s share of the credit. “He’s a very nice man, but he’s very sexy. He brought all of that swagger, that rock star, snake-hipped sexiness, and we built on that.”
Tumblr media
[ SyFy Wire - by Jennifer Vineyard] GARDEN OF EDEN, 4004 B.C. -  Anderson looked at everything from Pre-Raphaelite paintings to Al Pacino’s hippie clothes in Serpico to determine just the right flow for Aziraphale’s rough-hewn robe, which has gold embroidery on the shoulders and side. Aziraphale is also wearing a golden ring, which later becomes a signet ring stamped with wings in the Victorian era.
Tumblr media
NOAH'S ARK, MESOPOTAMIA, 3004 B.C. - “As aged as I am, I wasn’t there,” Anderson says, laughing. “And there wasn’t any painting or documentation from this era. But what we do know is that tunics remained pretty simple, and the earlier shape would have served them well for many years.” Aziraphale’s robe becomes more streamlined, and he wears gold beads at the neck.
Tumblr media
THE CRUCIFIXION, GOLGOTHA, 33 - By this time, both Aziraphale and Crawley — now Crowley — are wearing turbans and head wraps, which Anderson attributes to “a bit of vanity.” Plus the wrap helps Crowley conceal his snake-like eyes (it’s too soon for glasses). Aziraphale dons a soft leather coat over his tunic, while Crowley wears female attire of the region — an abaya.
Tumblr media
ROME, 41 -  Switching from tunics to togas was difficult, since togas contain 6 to 12 meters of fabric, which is a lot to carry around on camera. Anderson reduced the size by cutting the togas to fit for the character’s movements, and she gave each actor a thematic decorative pin to hold their togas together — Crowley a serpent and staff, Aziraphale a pair of wings (both courtesy of George Easton at Danegeld Historic Jewellery). Although history might argue that it’s too soon for sunglasses, Crowley starts to shield his eyes with a very small, eye-shaped lens. “It’s suggestive, rather than historically accurate,” Anderson says. And as a sign that Crowley is adapting to the humans around him, he also wears a silver laurel wreath.
Tumblr media
ARTHURIAN ENGLAND, THE KINGDOM OF WESSEX, 537 - Anderson sent character descriptions and visuals for Aziraphale and Crowley to armor specialist FBFX, which sent a van to London full of pieces that could work for angelic and demonic armor. Instead of focusing on historical accuracy, Anderson looked for shapes and fit that suggested an ethereal — or snakelike — quality, once the pieces had been painted black or silver. For Crowley, she found a helmet that had a smaller face that could suggest a snakehead, and for Aziraphale, shoulder pieces that were slightly wing-like. To add to the wing effect, Anderson added a white fur caplet to Aziraphale’s armor. “It was terribly grand, but not very practical,” she says. “And the poor guys, it was murderously uncomfortable to stand around in that armor.”
Tumblr media
GLOBE THEATRE, LONDON, 1601 - Crowley and Aziraphale catch an early version of Hamlet, looking more period-appropriate than ever thanks to the Globe’s vast archive of costumes. Aziraphale’s wardrobe, which includes a neck ruff edged with gold thread, has a metallic look with a hint of iridescent blue, which opens up his color palette. Crowley, meanwhile, wears a cleaner neckline and leather on his doublet, as well as fabrics that provide sheen and luster to suggest his snaky origins.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
REVOLUTIONARY FRANCE, PARIS, 1793 - This is not a period to be dressed like an aristocrat, but Aziraphale couldn’t resist a lace collar, gold brocade and fitted jacket — which explains why he’s stuck in a prison cell (at least until Crowley intervenes). Crowley, more mindful of what revolutionaries would wear, dons a dark red jacket that’s almost as dark as his usual black. When Aziraphale miracle-changes his clothes, he wears the red cap of liberty. “It’s a soft beret that falls somewhere between a modern French beret and a pirate headdress,” Anderson notes.
Tumblr media
ST. JAMES' PARK, LONDON, 1862 - This is the time period with which Aziraphale gets most comfortable, fashion-wise, and settles into a Victorian look with tartan flair. Anderson also bestowed some heavenly nods to his angelic nature — a feathery velvet top hat, a stopwatch with angel’s wings on the chain, and the signet ring. Crowley, meanwhile, wears a pair of long, elegantly cut trousers that we will see again in the 1960s. “The trousers repeat, which is basically what fashion does anyway,” Anderson says. “And it’s what the story does. There are notes backward and forwards.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE BLITZ, LONDON, 1941 - Aziraphale’s tartan necktie becomes a bow tie, and his penchant for wide lapels, a nod to his wings, continues, this time with a spear-point collar. Crowley, who comes to save Aziraphale once again, is dressed more formally, in a full double-breasted wool suit that must have been hard for David Tennant to wear in the South African heat. “The rest of the crew were in flip-flops and T-shirts, and David was in the suit, hat, and those big boots,” Anderson says, recalling the shoot.  “He had to be very physically active in that scene, and yet David didn’t complain about the heat or anything. He’s amazing.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SOHO, LONDON, 1967 - Crowley, as noted, continues to wear his Victorian trousers, which are right up to date, and which he pairs with a black paisley velvet jacket with contrasting lapels. His sunglasses now have more of a John Lennon vibe. Aziraphale, perhaps inadvertently, is also looking stylish with his Victorian topcoat, spear-point collar, and cravat (modified from his scarf in Victorian England). “You can’t avoid being affected by changing trends,” Anderson says. “However bookish you are, you still notice other people. And you would have had Rolling Stones and Beatles fans wearing that kind of thing. That was our argument for Aziraphale wearing his Victorian topcoat all the way through, and Michael Sheen loved it. He said it inspired him. And the cravat rang in the changes and helped us with the passage of time, rather than always having him wear a bow tie.

The Bast Bad Idea (Part 2)
Three-part CS AU where Emma and Killian are doctors working at the same hospital (world without pandemic). They’ve yet to meet, but Emma has definitely seen the sexy Dr. Jones in her travels at Mist Haven Medical. It’s generally a bad idea to get involved with a colleague, but a little fantasizing never hurt… right? Inspired by the song ‘Bad Idea’ by Ariana Grande and a TV couple who set the bar for true love stories.
Part One Here. Story available on FF Here and AO3 Here.
A/N: Hello everyone! First and foremost, I want to start with a huge thank you to all of you who have reached out about this story. The response was so far beyond what I was expecting, but I am thrilled to know that all of you enjoy a CS Doctor AU as much as I do. As someone who grew up watching Grey’s Anatomy, it’s essentially engrained in my DNA to love a medical romance, and this story is one I have wanted to write for a long time. I’ve had more than a month away from writing thanks to my busy schedule, but finally my muse came to play and add a bit of fluff to this sweet short story. Chapter two picks up with a critical question – what was Dr. Jones going to propose to Dr. Swan…? Without further ado, here is our answer. Thanks for reading and hope you enjoy!
“This might be presumptuous of me, love, but I find I’m helpless to resist. I was wondering – that is, I was hoping that perhaps, you and I, we could…”
His eyes strayed down to her lips, and Emma wet them absentmindedly. She heard a low growl, and realized it was coming from Killian. She shifted in her seat, turned on in a way she had never been before. Instinctively she moved closer, sensing the sinfully sweet current between them, like lightning just before it cracked across a summer sky. The instant attraction was breathtaking. It felt almost out of time and space.
“We could…” she continued, nudging him along and hoping he would elaborate. She wanted so badly for him to say aloud what she herself was wishing for.
Yet where Emma expected words, she was instead met with action, tantalizing and surprising, but inspiring something in her she never expected. Before she knew it, Emma was in Killian’s arms, aching for this moment, kissing him and knowing she was positively senseless. All that existed was this kiss, this touch. It was electrifying and invigorating, a blaze rushing through her blood stream that emboldened a part of her she’d always held back. Desire. That was what this was, and it was luscious and intoxicating.
Following his lead, Emma broke away from the kiss only to gasp for air as he crowded her body against the wall. The hardness of the cement blocks behind her, coupled with the heat and definition of Dr. Killian Jones was too much to handle. She arched into him, striving for contact, and reveling in the feel of his skin on hers. The only problem was these damn clothes between them. Never in her life had she been irritated at this doctor’s coat she’d worked so hard to earn. For years she studied and poured everything she was into medicine, all for the authority this coat portrayed, but she practically purred when Killian stripped hers off and tossed it to the ground. Pushing his off of his body in return made her mind race. The muscles of his chest and arms were driving her to distraction. Then they flexed, and she swallowed harshly, earning a deep, decadent chuckle from this man who drove her crazy.
“See something you like, Swan?”
God that cockiness. They’d never had any kind of real conversation before now, but the way he smiled spoke volumes. His air and his persona were dripping in assuredness. Emma used to think that she hated so much confidence, but when it came to Killian, she craved it something fierce. It was somewhat infuriating, the way his eyes shone with mischief and conceit, but it was also hotter than anything she’d ever known. Still, part of her would rather die than admit that aloud. She had her pride, no matter how wrapped up in this moment she may be.
“It’s hard to say,” she replied, her voice sounding out with a shredded silkiness that she’d never heard before. “I haven’t seen much of anything yet.”
“My apologies, love. Allow me to rectify the situation.”
Emma watched as this ridiculously attractive man purposefully teased her. With deft fingers he reached for the base of his scrub top, inching the material higher up his body. The trail of dark hair he revealed was evocative, but it held no candle the shape and tone of those abs underneath. Sweet Jesus, were those real? Emma bit back a groan at the sight, her lip pressed tight between her teeth. It took everything in her to keep her hands from reaching for him. She lay them flat on the wall behind her at her sides instead, but they balled into fists unconsciously as Killian eventually tossed the shirt away.
His black hair was mussed now, both from removing the scrubs with that always-present swagger, and from her fingers having run through it during their never-ending kisses. His eyes were dark navy blue, but still they shone with hunger and delight. His grin was a mix of charming and predatory, but instead of inciting a fight or flight response, Emma only wanted to surrender. This was a man who knew he was in complete control. He had hooked her, totally and beyond any shadow of doubt, and all she wanted was for him to have his way with her.
The curses he whispered while helping her shed her own scrubs were like prayers on high, a sweet song to her ears that only added to his allure. Killian’s eyes never strayed from her, but his reactions were so open and transparent. He hid nothing, allowing her a glimpse to the world inside, and it caused the power between them to shift. If Emma was being hunted, then she was also hunting in return, and Killian seemed ready to be caught.
“Emma, I -,”
His voice faded out, and she struggled to hear him. Instead, there was a blaring alarm. Was this a fire drill? Why had the light in the room gone hazy? Still, Emma heard herself whisper his name.
“Killian?”
BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP.
The screech of the sharp, incessant chiming by her ears wrenched Emma’s eyes open, and immediately she groaned in disappointment. All of that – every exquisite moment – was a dream. Ugh, of course it was! Because this was her life now: fantasizing about a hot trauma surgeon ceaselessly and wishing that her memories of him were more than mere imagination.
“Damn it,” she muttered aloud, covering her eyes with her hand in frustration. With her vision blocked, Emma was more aware of the feeling that her body was wrapped up in her sheets. She’d obviously been tossing and turning through the night, restless in ways she rarely was before seeing Doctor Jones. These freaking dreams just felt so real, and they’d only gotten worse since officially meeting him.
That was three days ago now, but things had been chaotic in the meantime. The level four trauma that came in when they’d been formally introduced totally swamped the ER. Emma was called down for consult on multiple patients, needing to give life and death assessments and treatment plans for half a dozen people. While down there, Emma had the chance to see David and Killian in action. She was struck, even in the grips of adrenaline, by their cohesion and capability. They were cool and collected, battling odds that were dire to say the least, but they prevailed. Emma had worked for years to hone her craft, to heighten her skills, and to meet the moments of medicine that her work provided. But the energy in the ER had shifted, and she felt her own abilities elevated by the camaraderie and collectiveness of everyone in the hospital.
That shared experience only lasted a short while, for after initial inspections and emergency consults, Emma was quickly rerouted to the surgical wing. For 16 hours straight she worked to save the lives of four people, and through something that felt like magic, or maybe divine intervention, she was successful each and every time. That good fortune held, not only for her, but for all of her colleagues as well. The hospital had managed something next to impossible – they had saved every victim of the horrible accident, but the work had been backbreaking. When she’d finally scrubbed out of her last procedure, Emma admitted defeat, heading home and sleeping for twelve straight hours.
Her next shift was markedly slower, and Emma had the chance to see the progress of her post-op patients, and to connect with the others in her unit. It was critically important that the doctors, nurses, admins, tech teams, and other staff were all feeling strong and secure. Patients needed everyone working as a collective whole, and Emma took it upon herself to monitor that. It was unusual for a Doctor, especially one who wasn’t overseeing daily operations, but it mattered to Emma. Saving lives took so much more than her medical degree and steady hands. She needed each and every person in the cardiac wing to be successful, and she valued every one of them for what they brought to the team.
Unfortunately, while Emma’s day was slower and steadier, there was also a favorite element now lacking. She wasn’t too proud to admit that she’d willingly joined Ruby on the daily trip to the coffee cart. Actually, she’d been the one to page Ruby this time, earning more than a bit of teasing from her best friend, but Killian and David never showed. Only later, when Emma was at the tail end of her workday and helping with a consult in the ER, did she learn why.
“He was here for sixty-eight straight hours,” David said bluntly, after having confirmed his diagnosis for a patient presenting with a blood circulation issue.
“I’m sorry?” Emma asked, confused for a moment at David’s turn of topic.
“Killian,” David said, prompting Emma’s face to heat. Here she was, hoping it wasn’t totally obvious that she was looking for a man she hardly knew beyond imaginings, but David had seen through her in a matter of moments.
“Oh, um – that’s, well that’s… crazy. Sixty-eight hours?” That beat even her record, and she’d been called a workaholic on more than one occasion.
“Mhmm. We were on the end of a twelve-hour shift when the call came in and he stayed, until every last patient in the trauma department was seen and attended to. I left for eight hours and was dead to the world the entire time. Still felt laggy when coming back. Meanwhile, he caught maybe four hours sleep total interspersed between rounds, crashing in on call rooms. You’d never know though. He was totally unfazed. Brilliant as ever. It was like being back in the field again.”
“Seriously?” Emma asked, amazed at that. She was no stranger to long shifts, but to work that hard for that long was a herculean feat. Somehow, though, she wasn’t surprised to hear Killian had pulled it off.
“Yup. I had to force him to go back to his hotel. Actually, Regina had to. I tried, but until the Chief said something, he wouldn’t budge. She had to spew all sorts of protocol and legal jargon at him to get him to go. Even then, I could tell he was debating whether to stay or not.”
“He has a real connection with his patients,” Emma commented, vocalizing a fact she’d ascertained by watching him in action. Killian cared deeply, and while his main job may be all about stemming the flow of crisis, and bouncing around from one case to the next just to keep people holding on, he kept track of all those he helped, and invested in each patient no matter what.
“Maybe. I think it had more to do with the fact that it was only eight am and you wouldn’t be at the coffee stand yet.”
Before Emma could respond, David was paged for something else. He’d left her with a polite goodbye, but also a knowing smile. Another time, Emma might have tried to fake that she wasn’t interested or deny that there was something between her and Killian, but instead she was too busy fixating on what she’d just heard. Emma carried David’s assessment around with her for the rest of the day, well after leaving the hospital and heading home. She spent the night wondering if what David said was true. Was Killian as interested in her as she was in him?
“This might be presumptuous of me, love, but I find I’m helpless to resist. I was wondering – that is, I was hoping that perhaps, you and I, we could…”
“We could what?” she whispered, getting out of her car, heading inside to her next shift. “What was he going to ask me?”
“Did you say something, Emma?”
Emma jumped at the unexpected question, senses on high alert as she stood before the elevator in the parking garage. When she found Mary Margaret only a few feet from her, and clearly the orator of the previous question, Emma relaxed slightly. She tried her best not to show her embarrassment, but it was difficult. Now she was talking to herself? Jeez, she was truly losing it at this point.
“Oh, uh, nothing. How are you today?” she asked her friend. Mary Margaret smiled widely. Her excitement was palpable, filling up the elevator car as the two of them stepped inside.
“I’m great! Just eager to get to work.”
“Any interesting cases on the schedule?”
“Oh, uh, sure, there’s a few, I guess. Well really most of my day is going to be in consult with the Chief’s office.”
“Wait a second, you have to spend a prolonged period of time with the Evil Queen and you are smiling? Who are you and what have you done with Mary Margaret?” Her friend now looked flustered, clearly trying to grasp at an explanation and then it dawned on Emma. “This is about David isn’t it?”
“David?” Mary Margaret asked, her pitch higher than it had been just moments ago. Emma laughed at her friend’s terrible play acting. Trying to pretend that this wasn’t about David Nolan was a lost cause. Eventually Mary Margaret realized that, and she sighed, releasing the tension in her shoulders as she exhaled. “Okay, yes, I am seeing Dr. Nolan today.”
“Let me guess, he’s also going to be at the admin meetings.”
“They’re about coordinating long term therapies better with our emergency protocols and treatments. So yes, the head of the ER is likely to make an appearance.”
“I see,” Emma said, biting back a smirk so as not to make Mary Margaret too uncomfortable. In the end though her curiosity won out, and she had to ask. “So, any movement there?”
“Movement?”
“Has he asked you out yet?”
“Not exactly.” Emma waited for her friend to explain herself. Mary Margaret held off for a few seconds before blurting out the truth. “I actually asked him.”
“Really?” Emma was shocked. Not because she thought any less of Mary Margaret. In fact, quite the opposite. She was proud of Mary Margaret for going for what she wanted. She just had never ever seen Mary Margaret step outside of a comfort zone like that, and certainly not with a hospital colleague. “Good for you. And he obviously said yes.”
“Why is it obvious?” Emma rolled her eyes, but in a teasing way.
“Come on, you know you two were making heart eyes at each other the other day. There was a definite spark. We all saw it.”
“I’m honestly surprised you noticed since you had your own, what did you just call them? ‘Heart eyes’? Well, you definitely had heart eyes for a certain trauma surgeon.”
Now it was Emma’s turn to blush, and what perfect timing, because the elevator doors had just opened to the lobby. They exited the quiet of the elevator to a hustle and bustle found only at a top tier hospital. It felt like a swarm of people, buzzing every which way, on their own individual paths.
“David and I going to dinner tomorrow,” Mary Margaret said quietly, looking around and finding no eavesdropping colleagues. When the coast was clear, she smiled, looking back at Emma with excitement all over her face. “That’s all I know though. I may have asked him out, but he made it very clear he had plans for how our first date was going to be.”
“I have a good feeling about this guy,” Emma said, referring to David. She had known Mary Margaret for a long time, and she knew how much her friend wished for a real and solid love in her life. Few people desired and deserved that kind of connection like Mary Margaret, and for Emma, there was a real satisfaction in seeing her friend’s instant connection with a stand-up man. Based on past experience, there weren’t too many of those to go around.
“Which one?” Mary Margaret asked. Emma stammered something non-committal out, causing her friend to laugh once more. “And that right there is all the answer I need. See you later, Emma. Oh, and when you see Killian again, just go for it. Believe me, it’s so much better than waiting and wondering.”
With that, Mary Margaret headed towards the wing of the hospital where the Chief and her admins worked. At the same time, Emma turned her attention to the cardiac unit.  She had a ways to go to get there, but while still in the main entrance of the hospital she was stopped short by a gruff, and somewhat uncertain voice.
“Excuse me, Doctor Swan?”
“Yes?” Emma replied, looking to the young man who approached her. Taking in his features, she realized she knew him peripherally. He was one of the new interns cycling through the hospital this year, but he hadn’t worked in the cardio wing or in a surgical capacity. Taking in his lanyard, which bore his ID card over plain clothes, she saw he was an ER intern. Interesting. “Can I help you?”
“This is for you.” The young man offered her a paper box. Emma accepted, thoroughly confused before the intern elaborated. “Curtesy of Doctor Jones.”
“Oh,” Emma said, suddenly incredibly interested. Unable to resist, she opened the box. She didn’t know what she was expecting, but what she found made her smile widely. “These are flowers. Paper flowers.”
“Yes, ma’am. I’m not entirely sure of the significance, but Doctor Jones told me there is a note inside as well. He wanted me to be sure to mention that.”
Emma was more than excited to read what this astonishing man would write to her, but something the intern said reminded her of the awkwardness of this situation. Had Killian used his authority over the interns to have this delivered? It wasn’t a crazy assumption. Many of the residents and attendings here saw interns as the low rungs on the ladder. They were meant to be learning and training, but often they were sent on coffee runs and foolish errands. Emma never believed in that though. She found it unkind and unnecessary.
“To be honest, it was hard to convince Doctor Jones to let me bring these,” the intern said, perplexing Emma further while eerily reading her mind. “I had to offer about a half dozen times. My shift was ending, you see, and I’ve been looking for a way to thank Doctor Jones since he got here. You know he created extra hours in the ER skills lab? He’s working with first years too. We get very little access usually, because the third years are prepping for exams and stuff, but he convinced Doctor Nolan to extend the hours. He’s even hosting classes himself. Cool right?”
“Very cool,” Emma said with a nod, and another smile. She breathed out a sigh of relief, genuinely happy to realize this man she’d been thinking of was good to others. It also made accepting this thoughtful gift so much easier.
From there, Caleb said goodbye, heading out for whatever interns did with down time these days. Oh, who was she kidding? Sleeping. That’s what she’d done, and no doubt that was what all interns still wanted most of all. Emma though, felt more awake now than she had in a long while. She found a quiet corner in one of the corridors leading to the cardio unit and took a seat, opening the box away from prying eyes.
Inside the box there were six different types of what looked like origami flowers. They were beautiful and delicate, and she wondered where he could have bought them. Only when she opened the note did she realize the truth.
Emma,
As you know, I’ve been away for quite a while, out in the field in a completely different world. In the desert there’s not really that much to do, except survive and keep as many of your people as well as you can. The downtime is long and hot and quiet. I picked up these tricks from a fellow soldier. It kept my hands at the ready and my mind clear, and there’s an honest beauty in them that reminds me of you.
Truth be told, there’s a flower for each time I’ve tried to catch you at the coffee cart since our meeting. Clearly my missions have been unsuccessful, so this calls for a change in tactics…
Emma smiled at the thoughtfulness and felt the pull of butterflies low in her chest.  He thought she was beautiful, and he said it without fear. Had a man ever said so much? Had it ever mattered? Certainly not like it did now. Reading on, Emma laughed at the lightheartedness of the note and the bit of cheeky humor that accompanied it. His easygoing candor and transparency enchanted her, drawing her in even more than she already was. Then she memorized the time and place he suggested that they meet at the bottom of the page, knowing nothing and no one was going to keep her from this meeting.
Only after reading through his handwritten thoughts three or four times did she realize an added layer of perfection: these flowers weren’t just handmade and crafted with intention. They were also safe for her to take with her to her ward of the hospital. Being in and out of the ICU and cardiac units, Emma couldn’t bring real flowers into her offices without putting some patients at risk, but she could have these. From within the box she selected a bright yellow blossom, beautiful and intricate and folded to perfection. Wordlessly she tucked it away in her pocket. The others were deposited for safe keeping in her office as soon as she arrived back in the East Wing, and displayed on her windowsill, brightening the space.
The hours between the start of her shift and the time she was meant to meet Killian passed by slowly. Her rounds usually distracted her, but not today. While she still gave all due attention to her patients, Emma had that sense in the back of her mind that this afternoon would bring so much more to the forefront. The promise of seeing him again kept her heart pattering faster than it should be, and by the time the clock was minutes from their meeting, she was positively bursting with anticipation.
“Okay, usually I would give you a hard time and pretend to tag along, but even I can’t mess with a smile like that.” Ruby’s words snapped Emma’s focus back to the hallway where she was standing, pretending to read a chart. As she looked to her friend, however, she would never be able to recall what was on the screen in front of her. Ruby grinned when their eyes met. “He gave you the flowers, didn’t he?”
“You knew?” Emma asked and Ruby nodded.
“Yup. Ran into him at the cart a couple of times. He was really starting to piss off the kiosk guy with all his loitering. Had to give him a hundred dollars just to shut him up.”
“He didn’t!”
“No, I wouldn’t let him. I told Boris to shut it unless he wanted a hospital wide nurses strike. Guy knows better than to cross me. He just acts tough for clout.” Emma laughed, knowing her friend truly ran this place in most ways. But then the apprehension of the moment caught up to her again, and Emma’s brow furrowed in worry. “Oh no you don’t. No doubting this, Ems. I’ve vetted this guy. Run all the background, checked all the sources. He’s a good one, a one in a million, needle in a haystack, diamond in the rough kind of man. And, to top it all off, he’s crazy about you.”
“You think?” Emma asked and Ruby nodded.
“I know, but that’s all I’m saying. Let Killian speak for himself, okay? And, even though it’s hard, try and trust this.”
“I think I already do,” Emma whispered. “Trust him, I mean. But that’s crazy, right?”
“Love tends to be that way.”
“Ruby.”
“Emma,” her friend parroted, taking her hand and squeezing gently. “Just go for it. Go for it and see for yourself.”
With a nod, and the validation that she needed to hear from a trusted friend, Emma headed off. It felt natural and expected to make her way towards the center of the hospital once more. This time though, she passed the coffee cart, with only a fleeting glance. Killian wasn’t meeting her there today. In fact, she wasn’t entirely sure where they were meeting. She followed the directions he’d given her, up a few more flights of stairs and through the wing with pediatric patients and newborns. She had been here many times before, for consults and comfort. It was a draw here in the hospital – the cuteness of babies just starting their journeys in the new world. Emma looked at them today, noticing the vibrancy inside the nursery, but didn’t linger. Instead, she followed the last of the route that Killian had given her and ended up somewhere she’d never been before. A place that must have just finished being renovated.
“Wow,” Emma whispered, walking into the sunlight on the open terrace.
With the glass surroundings and the plant life everywhere, this place was beautiful. There were pergolas and hanging vines, topiaries and flowering plants, daffodils and tulips, all breathing in the spring. It felt like a park, floating in the air, with the sounds of the city barely audible below. Emma could imagine the kids and the families who would come here someday. She hoped it would be a space for them to find some peace and happiness while staying in this unfamiliar and often stressful place. Hospitals were rarely any fun for patients, necessary as they may be, but this space was beautiful enough to distract from that.
“You made it, love.” The deep rumble of that familiar voice sent a shiver through Emma’s whole body. She cast a glance over her shoulder, finding Killian, leaning against the stone façade of the building behind them. In his hands were two coffees, and as he moved towards her, he offered her one with a boyish smile. “This is for you. Didn’t want you missing a routine caffeine fix for my sake.”
“Thank you,” Emma said automatically, feeling his fingers brush across hers, sending a zing of awareness through her. Her eyes flashed up to his, and she knew he felt it too. Suddenly she had no want or need for this coffee. She cleared her throat slightly before continuing on. “Where exactly are we? And how, might I ask, does the new guy know about it before I do?”
“It’s the Hubbard Family Wellness Gardens, gifted by one of the hospital’s most loyal benefactors” he said, full of knowledge. Emma was shocked that he actually knew what this place would be but then he smiled, gesturing to the plaque bearing that information. She bit back a laugh. “And as for how I found it, that’s easy. I never leave well enough alone, and I’m curious by nature. I’ve been nearly everywhere in the hospital now, but this place seemed the best for what comes next.”
“What comes next?” Emma asked, her voice hitching up as she repeated the words.
“Aye,” Killian murmured, his tone dipping sensually low. She swallowed harshly as he entered into her space, and he tracked the motion. She felt the heat of his closeness, and caught his scent in the air, clean, and male, and with a hint of spice.
“I’m afraid I didn’t think this through,” he said, close enough to kiss her. God, how she wished he would kiss her. Emma vocalized her first thought.
“Really? I did. Like a lot.”
His smirk told her she’d said that aloud even though she never meant to, but before she could react, he took hold of her cup once more.
“I meant these,” he gestured to the coffee in her hand. Oh, right. “May I, love?”
Emma nodded, and shakily let go of the cup she forgot she was holding. With deft hands, Killian  placed their drinks back on a table beside them with far more poise than she could muster at the moment. When that was done, he stepped towards her again, looking at her with a glint in his blue eyes that made her heart skip. His hands came to her body, one to her hip, the other to cup her cheek. The rightness washed over her, and so did the realization that none of her dreams could actually prepare her for real intimacy with Killian Jones.
“Last time we spoke I intended to ask you something. Do you remember?”
“Yes, I remember,” she whispered, her voice hoarse from wanting this so badly. Without thinking, she wet her lips, and he caught the action, letting out a groan that mixed pain with passion and pleasure. Then he cursed, a totally British ‘bloody hell’ falling past his lips before dipping his mouth to hers and giving them both a taste of temptation.
The kiss was… beyond incredible, but Emma was so deep in it she had no ability to comprehend anything at all. She was consumed with the moment, arching against Killian, feeling the silky strands of his dark hair and the scruff of his beard. His kiss was assured and passionate, dominant and indulgent all at once. She succumbed to the sensations, and let the rightness surge within her, not caring at all that they were outside or at work or that they’d just met. Instinct took over, and her gut, which Emma had always trusted, was telling her that this man was even more than she imagined, and someone she should choose to let in.
Pulling back from the kiss, Emma and Killian stayed close, and Emma took stock of all the places they were touching. His hold on her was firm but caring, like she was precious, and he wouldn’t let her slip away. In his eyes she saw so much emotion, and again she was struck by his transparency and trust. He wasn’t shying away from her or the moment. He was in the depths of desire with her, and their kiss, that perfect, sexy as all hell kiss, had left him tongue tied. The quiet wasn’t awkward, but assuring, and Emma felt secure here, safe even, while also being filled with more unknown wonder than she’d ever been before. Like someone at the start of a glorious adventure, she took a next step born of passion and hope.
“I’m off at six tonight… so, you want to pick me up at seven thirty?” she asked, referencing a date he hadn’t actually asked her out on. She feigned ignorance even though she could read him like a book. “Unless you were going to ask me something else…”
His hold on her tightened, and he shook his head immediately. She was right. He wanted a date – and she saw no reason to wait when she wanted one just as badly. She grinned at him, loving how the tables had turned. This time he swallowed harshly, and she was oh so tempted to kiss him again and see if he’d stay shy or rise to her challenge.
“It’s a date, Swan,” he said dazedly.
Emma hummed out her agreement, going in for one last fleeting kiss. But where she meant to only tease, he took the reins again, kissing her senseless and leaving her breathless when they finally broke apart. Only when her pager beeped with an incoming call did they end their inevitable interlude, and as they did, Emma felt a pang of longing, wishing this moment could last so much longer than this.
“Tonight, love,” he whispered, running his thumb against her lips. “Far away as it may seem, I promise the wait will be worth it.”
“Good,” she replied, nipping his thumb ever so softly, and bringing the fire back in his eyes, before taking a step back. And with that, and just enough presence of mind to grab her coffee, Emma headed off, back through the hospital to the work that awaited her, knowing she could and would get through anything today for the promise of tonight.
Post-Note: Ah!! Finally!! I got the words on the page!! I did the thing!! I wrote the story!! And honestly, it’s such a relief. It felt, at some points, like I may never get this chapter written, but finally today it came. I know many of you were waiting, and I cherished every comment and review and message along the way. I hope all of you who wrote me, and those who read along with chapter one, all enjoy this installation. I write these stories for me and to brighten my world ever so slightly, but also in the hopes that they’ll spark joy for others too. In a time like this, a little joy goes an awful long way. Anyway, thank you all for reading, sending you the best, and hope you’ll join me next time for the final chapter of this CS AU! xE

'Ever since Russell T Davies announced his return to Doctor Who, there's been anticipation in the air. We've all been waiting, it has now become clear, for The Giggle.
We can't say too much about the third and final 60th anniversary special, which will see out David Tennant's Fourteenth Doctor and Catherine Tate's Donna Noble - not least because a chunk of it is still being kept under wraps until Saturday night. But, oh, we're in for a treat - a beautiful, colourful, chaotic, onslaught of a treat.
After the Doctor and Donna returned to Earth in the final scenes of Wild Blue Yonder, The Giggle picks up with the world in chaos. As Bernard Cribbins declared in his final scene as Wilfred Mott, "It's everybody. It's everything. They're all going mad."
Why? Well, the answer has to do with one man. Neil Patrick Harris makes his Doctor Who debut as The Toymaker, an iconic classic villain from the early years of the sci-fi, taking over from Michael Gough. Davies has previously said that Harris had "never heard" of Doctor Who before he was cast (an impressive feat in itself). It's an astonishing thought when you see him on screen, stealing the show with all the joy, wit, swagger and unnerving-ness of an actor who's done this a thousand times before.
Of course, there are some incredible returning stars, including Ruth Madeley as Shirley Anne Bingham and Jemma Redgrave as Kate Stewart - comebacks that pack a punch. "How do we fight the human race?" Kate asks the Doctor in a genuine moment of horror. It goes without saying that Tennant and Tate are spectacular as always - hilarious in one moment, tear-jerking in the next. We see new sides to Tennant's Fourteenth Doctor - yep, the man is still surprising us after all this time.
But all of this would be futile without the story they've been handed. The Giggle grabs you in minute one and doesn't let you go. Visually, it's beautiful. Audibly, it's beautiful (all hail Murray Gold). It feels like old-school RTD, like the returning showrunner is flexing muscles he hasn't used in a long while, harking back to older tales in obvious and less obvious ways. But it also feels fresh and bigger. And not a moment is wasted.
It's not really that Doctor Who has a new budget (although that doesn't hurt), or that it's beaming out to a bigger audience than ever (also doesn't hurt). The boundaries of the show when it comes to the storytelling have been pushed further and further and, from what Davies has said about the Christmas special and beyond, it sounds like that's certainly not stopping here.
There are more magical moments that have to stay unmentioned and still so much to see, including the next regeneration and a whole new Doctor to meet in the form of the glorious Ncuti Gatwa - undoubtedly, the most important part of the special. But if it's knocked out of the park like the rest of the episode is, this could be one for the ages.
It's not an easy skill to muster up a genuine sense of danger in Doctor Who - after all, the Doctor always wins, right? Right?! But with a writer like Davies, an actor like Tennant and a story like this, when we're standing on the precipice of a whole new age for Doctor Who, who knows what will happen?
See you Saturday night for the show. Allons-y!'
