#this was hands down their best show i've been to #and i've heard that there were sound problems during the broadcast but everything was perfect live #and raistlin was perfect and crysania and takhisis and caramon and DALAMAR #(raistlin and dalamar's little interaction at the meeting with crysania was so 💔)#(and during the fall of istar he ran to caramon first! It is a real pity that Fruits Basket is so painfully heteronormative, because the trauma narrative is so very, very beautiful.

I really love how the manga presents us with the “Ha ha, shoujo romance hijinks!” premise of the curse, and then like, by volume two, it tosses the hijinks over the wall, pulls you aside and goes, “ARE YOU INTERESTED IN SOME TRAUMA.”

#Fruits Basket #I mean #the hijinks in general continue.#but we get surprisingly little 'Oh no I fell and hugged you!!!' after the first few chapters #like. really.#compare Tohru falling on top of them for the initial reveal #VS Kiyo turning into a cat when they hug through the sheets #the premise is there to pull you in for 0.5 seconds #and then it's like.#'ANYWAY. THIS IS A METAPHOR FOR FAMILIAL ABUSE.'
