Look, all I’m saying is that they really just don’t make movies like National Treasure anymore. Like this movie is about two dudes in a van who beat a team of highly trained criminals to stealing a valuable document from a high-security museum, by sheer accident get an antiques expert to come along with them to keep the document safe, get involved in several major chase scenes, escape the FBI twice, find a massive treasure, get someone else arrested for their crimes, and then give the treasure back to museums before yeeting out to do it all over again in the sequel. No one was doing it like them. And the thing is, by all accounts, this plot is ridiculous and the dialogue is ridiculous but it works unbelievably well because the writers and actors committed to the bit. This movie is campy and absurd and it’s also one of the most fun and quotable movies of my early childhood because the creators embraced the camp and did it with such a sincerity that it’s a goshdarn delight to watch. Top all of that off with a soundtrack that went WAY harder than it really needed to, excellent atmosphere throughout the whole film, and visuals that were darn near perfect and National Treasure becomes a classic. I’ve been chasing the high I got the first time I watched it my whole life. What a movie.

I think part of what makes Farscape's characters and relationships so compelling is how unafraid the cast is to show physical intimacy. Everyone is getting in everybody's space. There are shoulder nudges, folk lean towards each other when speaking, grab and touch each other's faces, they clap each other on the back, they throw things at each other over meals, and steal from each other's plates, they hold each other when they cry, it's constant and easy and natural.
And it's not just the human actors, they share these interactions with the Muppets too
I know some other old shows have this kind of thing but I can't think of any more modern ones that have anything close to the same degree happening All The Time even just among the main cast during big moments nevermind in the background with minor characters while other things happen. They all just kinda stand on or sit across from one another and 70% of the intimacy is made by how the shots are cut together and the music (perhaps higher than 70% since COVID).

doug eiffel is relatively offline, his choice of... constant, unyielding background noise so he never has to be left alone in the company of his own thoughts... is the radio and/or tv, but he is also always watching youtube videos like "Can We Drive 1,200 MILES in an ABANDONED Van With NO TITLE? - First Start in 17 Years" and "Monster Jam - INSANE AIR Compilation." zero doubt.

Why I Believe That Byler Is Endgame (based only on what we have seen on the show). Part 1
And by that, I mean: no color-coding analysis, no set props analysis, no actor interviews interpretation, no script analysis, no movies parallels analysis; nada. Only what we’ve seen on the show and nothing else.
This will use a lot of comparisons with m/leven because, despite the fact that some of you refuse to admit it, this is a love triangle.
the relationship between Mike and Will vs the relationship between Mike and El
Only in images.
determination vs passiveness
reliance vs independence
understanding vs lack of understanding
connection vs disconnection
responsibility vs shifting blame
will's art vs el's letters
choice vs 'dumb luck'
truth vs lies
I wonder if this is foreshadowing of how Mike might react when he finds out that Will lied about the painting or if he will react differently. Either way, that lie will be revealed in season 5. You can't have a show in which the characters keep repeating the phrase "friends don't lie", only for this lie to never be brought back again.

i love seeing posts about the value of reading bc every time there will be countless individuals in the comments explaining how valuing reading is bad actually bc not everyone likes reading and how can you expect them to have ever read a book as an adult when they were traumatized by having to read of mice and men in high school. oh and they have adhd too.
